BOSTON -- Mitt Romney's campaign and its fundraising allies announced Sunday they had brought in $111.6 million dollars last month, making August the most lucrative fundraising month yet for the GOP nominee and the third straight month Team Romney has raised more than $100 million dollars.
In a press release, the campaign said it now has $168.5 million in cash-on-hand between the Romney campaign, the Republican National Committee and the state parties which combine to make up the so-called "Romney Victory" fund. The Obama re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee raised more than $114 million in August, campaign manager Jim Messina said early Monday morning, Reuters reported.
The Romney campaign said 94% of the donations they received in August came from donors who gave less than $250 dollars apiece, for a total of $34.6 million dollars, and that donations came from all 50 states the District of Columbia.
On August 10th, Romney announced the selection of Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate, and the campaign touted the subsequent spike in online giving for days after the selection as a sign of increased grassroots support for the Republican effort.
A joint statement from Romney national finance chairman Spencer Zwick and RNC chairman Reince Priebus used the fundraising totals to continue to push the campaign's latest motivating question, meant to undermine support for President Obama: Are voters better off today than they were four years ago?
“Americans are not better off than they were four years ago and they are looking for a change of leadership. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are offering bold solutions to our country’s problems – that is why we are seeing such tremendous support from donors across the country," Zwick and Priebus said.

After watching Ann Romney's performance on Meet The Press (could David Gregory have fawned any more?) I'm struck by the contrast between her M.S. and the physical devastation that Michelle Obama's father suffered with the same disease. I guess Fraser Robinson couldn't afford a therapy horse.

We MIGHT have been able to get the Election/Campaign Finance Reform constitutional amendment passed in time to avoid this financial fiasco called an election. Get involved now before it is too late for 2014/2016. This is totally a grassroots movement with NO financial support from any outside groups or big donors, unlike all of the other so-called amendment websites. Sections 4, 5, & 6 would have prevented this type of outrageous expenditure by any federal candidate for federal office. Election Reform:
1. Abolish the Electoral College (Repeal Amendment 12)
2. ONE NATIONAL primary date to be held on the Tuesday eight (8) weeks prior to the General Election day for Congressional offices and for the President. Candidate petitions must be filed with the local/state elections boards 60 days prior to the Primary Election date. Federal election petitions shall be uniform in every state and shall include a “contract with the voters” that spells out clearly what that candidate stands for on all issues that they may have to address in elected office. They shall be held accountable in court for breach of that contract if elected and any/all terms are not met.
3. NO campaigning allowed for any elective federal office more than 60 days prior to the National Primary Date.
4. NO campaign contribution shall be donated to any candidate of more than $200 from an individual or $500 maximum from a family (spouses/children living in the same household.) No donations shall be made to a candidate more than sixty days prior to the primary date. No candidate shall contribute from their own funds more than 60% of the total donations from other private individuals.
5. NO campaign contribution from any PAC, corporation, union, non-profit organization, special interest group, etc. shall be allowed for any elected federal office.
6. NO third party campaigning (separate PAC ads, corporate ads, etc.) for/against any candidate shall be allowed at any time during or before the election season.
7. NO party conventions shall be held to select the presidential candidates. The selection must be done at the ballot box in the primary election.
8. The One Man/One Vote Supreme Court ruling shall be enforced by this Amendment, namely that NO federal candidate selection shall be by any means other than the ballot box on Primary/General Election Dates.
9. National Party Organizations shall NOT raise money for or donate to specific candidates of their party prior to the dates outlined above.
10. PAC’s shall NOT be granted tax-exempt status by the IRS, and any non-profit organization who uses their funding for political purposes shall lose their tax-exempt status.
11. All lobbyists shall be outlawed from influencing Congress at all times.
This amendment shall be approved ONLY by State Constitutional Conventions to be called within 90 days of this petition being submmitted to a state’s Secretary of State. It seems a little misleading to say the man raised 34 million on 94% of his donors. How about a little reporting here? Who gave the max? How many? Why are you just relating what the man said. Read something, research something and friggin report more than the candidates' wishes and blowhard word choices, eh? Another way you could put it is that about 28% of his total cash flow is coming from donations of 250$ or less. That means that more than 2/3 of the money he's collected is from big time spenders, movers and shakers. MOST of his money is coming in at whopping huge checks and massive dinner platter prices.
Question #2 for Mr.Romney; It seems that an overwhelming number of Americans distrust your spoken word or feel you and your running-mate have misspoken on too many occasions to trust you with the presidency. How do you respond to those claims?

If all of his big donors give 1000 say, and the little guy gives, at the least, 250, to be insanely conservative, then what he can afford buys that small donor 1/4 of the favor and face time that the 1000 dollar donor gives. What is the total # of donors? assuming that the 34 millions were given by 94% at $250 ( some donors gave less), you come up with 136,000 (minimum) donors that gave $250 or less. And the Minimum total of donors 144680.
6% of his donors gave 77 millions. 8680(minimum) donors gave around $9000 average.
I can't decide whether to cook oatmeal or eggs tomorrow for breakfast. Eggs might be a little quicker to make. But I sure like oatmeal. If it's nice out I might walk to work instead of drive. We'll see, I guess.

Romney could easily stimulate the American economy in two simple ways:
1.) He could pay his fair share of federal income taxes.
2.) He could invest his millions in the U.S. economy instead of hiding his money in offshore accounts.
While he's at it, he could endorse Obama for president. :)

The thing that I can't stop fixating about is this: How in the hell is Mittens even CLOSE? If you stood a card board cutout of him next to the flesh and blood Mittens it would be hard to tell the difference due to the fact that he has no dicernable human qualities. There is no "there" there.

Obama just needs to remember what Romney and team has said through this campaign. And repeat them over and over.
