Former President Bill Clinton is set to eviscerate Republicans for being responsible for policies that led to the 2008 economic meltdown - and yet wanting voters to put them back in power.
“In Tampa the Republican argument against the president's re-election was pretty simple: We left him a total mess, he hasn't finished cleaning it up yet, so fire him and put us back in," Clinton will say. “I like the argument for President Obama's re-election a lot better. He inherited a deeply damaged economy, put a floor under the crash, began the long hard road to recovery, and laid the foundation for a more modern, more well-balanced economy that will produce millions of good new jobs, vibrant new businesses, and lots of new wealth for the innovators."

He will also tout the president's vision for the country.
“The most important question is," Clinton will say, "what kind of country do you want to live in? If you want a you're-on-your-own, winner-take-all society, you should support the Republican ticket. If you want a country of shared prosperity and shared responsibility -- a we're-all-in-this-together society -- you should vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.”

Maybe Obama should just admit he's in over his head and has no idea what to do. I certainly hope we've learned enough to vote him out in November, if not will the Dems still be blaming Bush in 2016? I'm sorry, did i miss something here? where is it mentioned that the Democratic party has had almost total control of the Congress for most of tghe 1900's and the 2000's also with the exception of the last couple years and Obama had a super majority most of the time he has been in office? So logic says, if the Democratic party has been the ones creating laws, passing them enforcing them then how with the exception of a few dummys can the Republican party be responsible for this mess? You know that the Democratic party controlled Congress while Bush was in office, and I have yet to see President get away with creating laws...as for Congressional benefits, I say take them all away from every elected position. Be the pros would be gone in a minuet, by the way that includes most of the Democratic leadership. I imagine some of the Republicans to. maybe a look into the mirror of History might be in order here instead of Pavlovic reaction to those of a different opinion.

The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this: January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy. Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did fall!)

Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving the economy into the ditch.
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.
In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget.
And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for,
and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."
Obama didn't Inherit anything. Obama begged for the Office of the President with the longest Campaign for President in USA History.
Obama was a Standard Bearer for the Collapsed Economy. the Sub Prime Loan Scam Bill Clinton signed into law came from Organizations like ACORN. Executive Director of ACORN at that time was Barack Hussein Obama. Except then he was born in Kenya according to Obama.
