WEST LEBANON, NH -- Mitt Romney emerged from debate rehearsals in Vermont today to pick up some pizzas, and to deliver his own analysis of the first night of the Democratic National Convention, which he said could not make the claim Americans were better off after President Obama's first term.
"You've heard no one stand up and say that people are better off than they were four years ago," Romney told reporters traveling with him as he picked up several extra large pies at a pizza joint here. "They really can't say that. They can't say it in all honesty. Particularly with the news that has come out this week."
Wednesday: David Gregory previews tonight's speech by Former President Bill Clinton at this week's Democratic Convention in Charlotte.
"That news: The national debt tripping $16 trillion dollars for the first time, and the number of Americans receiving food stamps topping 47 million, up 15 million from when President Obama took office," Romney said.

"The American people are not doing better and this president understands that and I think that's why people are reluctant to even talk about it because they know the American people know better," Romney said, echoing his campaign's latest line of attack against the Obama administration, after several top Obama advisers fumbled the "are we better off" question on last Sunday's talk-show circuit.
The comments to reporters marked Romney's emergence from a day of strenuous debate preparation at the secluded Vermont estate of his former Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey. Romney and a small coterie of aides gathered at the house yesterday morning for a series of mock debates with Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, who is playing the role of President Obama for Romney.
"I'm just glad I won't be debating ... Rob Portman in the final debates," Romney said. "He's good."

Here in the mountains, with limited cell phone and Internet service, Romney said he did not watch Michelle Obama's address to the Democratic convention in Charlotte last night, and that regardless he only had praise for the first lady.
"I didn't see her speech, but I certainly respect the first lady and think she's, she's done a fine job as our first lady," Romney said. "Lovely person and I respect her."

I am a Democrat and I AM SAYING I AM BETTER OFF. No one asked me, but I will tell you. I suffered through my hours being reduced at work, my inability to contribute to my 401K, my inability to keep up with my car payment. AM I BETTER OFF??? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. By mid year 2010, I was back to 40 hours, paid off my car, took a vacation and thanked my PRESIDENT for helping me get there.

But wait a minute here ... let's not forget that corporations are people too according to your own dogma and the words that have come out of your face. That being said, I feel that in that light, you are not only guilty of murder as your company killed off many corporations, you are, by virtue of your psychotic killing spree a serial killer. I want to see justice done according to law, so if they are people (corporations) and if you are a tax evader, then let us get to the bottom of these allegations BEFORE you steal this election away from a man who truly loves this nation and the people.
Just a foot note here, President Bill Clinton and his speech tonight was awe inspiring. You Mitt only inspire divisive hatred, you should be tarred and feathered AND excommunicated.
All in all, as far as conventions goes, hate to say it, the Democrats won on quality points.

If you don't think things are better go back 4 years ago and read the headlines, we have come SOOOOOOO far from the brink of the next great depression, banks failing right and left, people having their homes foreclosed on by the banks, bleeding 800,000 jobs a month, a near collapse of the auto industry (did you see that the Big 3 are having one of the best sales years in history? Mitt Romney would have let them fail! Thank you, Obama!!!).
Things have GREATLY improved, maybe not as quickly as we would like, but given the obstructionist Republican Party who have voted against their OWN job creation bills just to see Obama fail, I think the President has done an AWESOME job!!
Because DOC S. Bush put us into a deep recession starting in 2007, the problem was at that time we didn't realize that it would be the worse recession since WW2 and an outright depression in several areas of the country. Bush left us in a debt of 11 trillion, unfinished business of 2 wars, tax breaks that did nothing to prevent the economic chaos, but it did widen the debt. A recession so bad Obama used Rooseveltian techniques to stop a total collapse starting with the Auto Industry that your George Bush had to summon the McCain and Obama teams to the White House in October before the election. With "One of you will inherit this mess, what do you want done" So yes, DOC, this IS BUSHES MESS.
Yea, we were way better in 2008 when we were hemorrhaging over 700,000 thousand jobs per month, the financial sector was collapsing, people were losing significant chunks of their 401k's, the auto industry was almost extinct and George Bush was crapping his pants because he didn't have a clue of what to do. Yea, we were way better off then....

Then as early as 2007, we were issued a check for $1425 from Bush telling us to take the check and spend it on consumables(your first Red flag that disaster was around the corner) then a month before the 2008 election the Bush administration summons the McCain and Obama teams to the White House concerning an auto industry on the verge of collapse. Doc, In 2008 my household income was $35,000, my husband was unemployed. Now my household income is $103,000 now that he is working and my job which relies on commission is doing much better. Tell me, I was better off under a Republican? The only people where better off under Republicans were the wealthy. Look how well Mitt Romney did, paying his 13% taxes compared to my 22%. Republicans gave tax credits to companies off-shoring jobs, Republican while critizing Dems for welfare, gave Corporations like Exxon and GE corporate welfare in the billions. During the Republican rule the average household income stagnated over the past 30 years while income for the wealthy grew 318%.
So yes, my income has improve since Obama took office!!

And then trying to find a job, But I got a degree and don't need to find work and apply for welfare for a few years, then look for a job when the markets are fully opened.

I am NOT on welfare, and have worked the same job for 15 years. 4 years ago, my wages were down. I am in sales and the reflection of the bad economy was a very weak paycheck. Now I am grossing 123% more than my base salary in commissions. 4 years ago it was only 15%.
My daughter has a job, she works 2 jobs infact, she is NOT lazy sitting around the house just to get my health care. she is a student and yes students can get insurance on campus but I like know this is one responsiblity that I can continue to provide for her while she works her a$$ to make her own way in the world.
My other daughter suffer severe acne in school. Her doctor recommend creams, pills and everything else under sun. Finally he prescribed birth control for a 14 year old. We tried it and it worked for a little while then we had to go to the dangerous drug which did fix her acne. But why wouldn't my insurance cover something prescribed by my doctor regardless of the reason?? Why do you feel your employer has a right to tell you what your doctor can prescribe? Believe me I would NEVER let Viagara be prescribed, it is a disgusting little drug that make men feel like 15 year boys!!

I actually grew up on food stamps. On and off while my mother, after my father left her and he didn't pay one dime of child support, worked two and three jobs sometimes. When she couldn't find full time work, we got food stamps. There is nothing more humilating than standing in line with your meager groceries then forking over the food stamps. Before Bush made it illegal to get the cash back, we used the change to wash our clothes at the laundry mat. Sorry I liked having clean clothes to go to school, I am sorry I was so frivilous with your tax dollars. Just like every parent out there my mother want to have the things she knew I wanted. How dare her!!
She worked under the table to buy me a few things once in a great while. I got my first pair of "new" Levis in high school. I had designer clothes all the time, I designed them and made them myself. I was bullied because my clothes sometimes looked funny. She did mange to save to by me a walkman knock off. She sold her grandmothers wedding ring to by me a car so I could get back and forth to school and the job I had at sixteen (very poor public transportation in my hometown). I had to learn to be a back yard mechanic just to keep my POS car going. If you don't know what POS means you have lived in to high a tax bracket for to long!
If you think living on welfare is so easy, do it for 3 months pay all your bills, put food on the table for your family, keep a roof over your head, get the stares from A**holes like you in the store when you use your food card, feel like your the bottom of pond scum for taking this money in the first place but know that you have no other choice.
