National debt started to be a problem under Reagan, and it didn't help when you have 20 of last 32 years under a Republican president who loves to BORROW and spend - thus this lower tax illusion during anti-tax rage all the to the Pee Potty.

When the Democrats TAX and spend, at least not much debt.

If you think debt is a problem? Vote Democratic...

FORWARD....

You are right. THe RNC speakers were so much better; the ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME x 1600 ME ME ME Romney ME ME ME ME x 1000 speeches were much more entertaining.... The RNC was about everyone else but Mitt - but we all know that Romney was always a third choice. Romney even lost to Failin Palin the last time.

Michelle Says "I" or "Me" 83 times

yeah? and Paul Ryan used 1600 words to talk about himself before he even mention Romney, and then followed it with another 1000 words to continue to talk about himself.

Michelle Obama is the wife - not the VP pick.

also, from the article you provided, Michelle Obama used "I" or "me" because:

The emphasis on herself is of note not only because of the strikingly personal nature of the speech, but because of the remarkable suggestion by the first lady that her political views and those of her husband arise much from their own experiences than a reasoned assessment of policies and facts.

So she was talking about President Obama so what is your point?

So, First Read, will any of the Democratic Convention speakers deliver "red meat" for the zealous left-wing delegates?

Or is condescending language like that reserved for conservative Republicans ?

All is peaches and cream at the Dem convention, the sawdust is on the floor at MSNBC's booth, for the expected rantings of the slobbering Chris Matthews and the spittle-flecked loon zealot Rachel Maddow...

Your obvious liberal bias is showing...

While introducing President Obama in June, Mayor Rahm Emanuel joked to Chicago Democrats that when Obama is in town the weather improves.

“The president arrives, the rain stops, the sun comes out.” Emanuel said. “Coincidence? I think not.”

It has rained relentlessly here in Charlotte since the Democratic convention began. Most delegates and journalists were utterly soaked on the way to the area Tuesday night, stripped of their umbrellas because they are deemed a dire security threat.

Tough for Obama. No more magic. Coincidence? I think not.

Clinton is there tonight. Maybe he can stop the rain.

You know what JS. You may be right. Blue skies with a few non threatening clouds right now. Oh, but tomorrow is supposed to be the torrential rain and "lightning" day according to the DNC. We'll see. God I love it when I am right. Got (attempted) knocked all over the place for telling the libs that it won't rain it out tomorrow let alone having God shoot lightning into the B of A stadium. Can't wait to serve up the crow.

Bayllie - Point is, they took the Stadium appearance out of the "program" due to "weather concerns".

See ya tomorrow at 11:00 PM and give you a weather report from the 10 to 11 hour. You think if the Panthers could have played there tomorrow night they would have cancelled the game today due to a forecast? Same (and probably a lot more) amount of people in the stadium.

Four words: "Couldn't fill the seats".

Did we already talk about Fact Check Day 1?

FactCheck.org says it heard "a number of dubious or misleading claims" from the Democrats who spoke on stage Tuesday in Charlotte, N.C. Among the problems it found:

    — "The keynote speaker and others claimed the Republican presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, would raise taxes on the 'middle class.' He has promised he won't. Democrats base their claim on a study that doesn't necessarily lead to that conclusion."

    — "The keynote speaker, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, also said there have been 4.5 million 'new jobs' under Obama. The fact is the economy has regained only 4 million of the 4.3 million jobs lost since Obama took office."

    — "A Democratic governor said Romney 'left his state 47th out of 50 in job growth.' Actually, Massachusetts went from 50th in job creation during Romney's first year to 28th in his final year."

    — "Multiple speakers repeated a claim that the Ryan/Romney Medicare plan would cost seniors $6,400 a year. That's a figure that applied to Ryan's 2011 budget plan, but his current proposal (the one Romney embraces) is far more generous."

The Washington Post's The Fact Checker cites some of the same problems as FactCheck highlighted. And it points to this statement from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada: "We learned that he [Mitt Romney] pays a lower tax rate than middle-class families."

    The Fact Checker writes that:

"For all the rhetoric about high taxes in the United States, most Americans pay a relatively small percentage of their income in taxes. Romney had an effective rate of 13.9 percent in 2010 and 15.4 percent in 2011. That gives him a higher rate than 80 percent of taxpayers if only taxes on a tax return are counted and puts him just about in the middle of all taxpayers if payroll taxes paid by employers are included."

    — PolitiFact appears to have just begun its analysis. In its initial take on the night's talk, it gives Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick a "half true" rating for his statement about the state being "47th in the nation in job creation" when Romney left office there.

As for first lady Michelle Obama's address to the convention, the fact checkers don't seem to have any faults to find.

You can find all our posts about fact checks of the Republican and Democratic conventions here.

there is a HUGE problem with this - how do you even know what Romney paid in 2011 if he has not released his taxes yet????

BTW, what Romney paid for 2010 in % is a little more than the Middle Class, and less than the 4th quantile.

Too bad Bill didn't make sure Monica's dress was cleaned up. Would make him more believable as a woman's rights advocate. But then I digress. There was always the multitude of others he womanized. And don't give me that consensual crap. He used his position to get what he wanted and thought it would be with impunity.

And you guys were all over Herman Cain. I am sure the only reason Hillary stayed with him was twofold:

    1. She loved the power she shared being his spouse.

    2. She didn't have to deal with his "needs".
