2012: Boy, that escalated quickly

“Supporters of both presidential candidates used extreme language to criticize the other side over Labor Day weekend, with California’s Democratic Party chairman likening GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan’s speech at last week’s Republican convention to Nazi propaganda and actor Chuck Norris comparing President Obama’s re-election to ‘the triumph of evil,’” the Boston Globe writes.

Nothing new for Obama's team.

They specialize in hate language, lies, racisim, distortion and divisiveness.

After all, those are the only cards in their deck.

    When you have nothing after two complete years of total control and then two more of both the Executive Branch and Senate control, all the Democrats can come up with to scream "LIE!" Childish way to point and scream fire when all anyone needs to do is to look at facts. He has failed in his term. Even he said in 2008 that he was to be graded on his performance when this time comes... Well, here it is... grab a hold of some of the FACTS -

    First President to Violate the War Powers Act
    First President to Orchestrate the Sale of Murder Weapons to Mexican Drug Cartels
    First President to issue an unlawful "recess-appointment" while the U.S. Senate remained in session (against the advice of his own Justice Department)
    First President to be Held in Contempt of Court for Illegally Obstructing Oil Drilling...in the Gulf of Mexico
    First President to Defy a Federal Judge's Court Order to Cease Implementing the Health Care ReformLaw
    First President to halt deportations of illegal aliens and grant them work permits, a form of stealth amnesty roughly equivalent to The DREAM Act, which could not pass Congress

    First President to Spend a Trillion Dollars on Shovel-ReadyJobs and Later Admit There Was No Such Thing as Shovel-Ready Jobs
    First President to sue states for requiring valid IDs to vote, even though the same administration requires valid IDs to travel by air
    First President to Abrogate Bankruptcy Law to Turn Over Control of Companies to His Union Supporters
    First President to sign into law a bill that permits the government to hold anyone suspected of being associated with terrorism indefinitely, without any form of due process. No indictment. No judge or jury. No evidence. No trial. Just an indefinite jail sentence.
    First President to Bypass Congress and Implement the DREAM Act Through Executive Fiat
    First President to Threaten Insurance Companies After They Publicly Spoke out on How Obamacare Helped Cause their Rate Increases
    First President to Threaten an Auto Company (Ford) After It Publicly Mocked Bailouts of GM and Chrysler
    First President to Order a Secret Amnesty Program that Stopped the Deportations of Illegal Immigrants Across the U.S., Including Those With Criminal Convictions
    First President to Demand a Company Hand Over $20 Billion to One of His Political Appointees
    First President to Encourage Racial Discrimination and Intimidation at Polling Places

    First President to Tell a Major Manufacturing Company In Which State They Are Allowed to Locate a Factory
    First President to refuse to comply with a House Oversight Committee subpoenas
    First President to File Lawsuits Against the States He Swore an Oath to Protect (AZ, WI, OH, IN, and others)
    First President to Withdraw an Existing Coal Permit That Had Been Properly Issued Years Ago
    First President to Propose an Executive Order Demanding Companies Disclose Their Political Contributions to Bid on Government Contracts
    First President to fire an inspector general of Ameri-Corps for catching one of his friends in a corruption case
    First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner
    First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in

    First President to keep a dog trainer on retainer for $102,000 a year at taxpayer expense

      Painful, the President only had a super majority for 4 1/2 months, 2010-2011, after Ted Kennedy died and Scott Brown was appointed the filibuster proof senate went down the tubes, do some research before sitting up all night dreaming up more nonsensical rants.

      I agree with your moniker - you have painful thoughts, but they have no bearing in reality. And don't try using a wordplay on Thomas Paine's name - he would spit on you.

      Here are the facts on the MYTHICAL supermajority:

      January 20, 2009 President Obama inaugurated

      April 28, 2009 Specter leaves republican party

      July 7, 2009 Al Franken sworn to Senate (now we're at 60, however,...)

      non legislative days:

      http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/legislative/one_item_and_teasers/2009_schedule.htm)

      August 25th Senator Ted Kennedy dies

      September 25th Paul Kirk sworn in

      February 5th 2009, Scott Brown sworn in

      http://thomas.loc.gov/home/ds/s1111.html

      Dates and calendar:

      July = 17 legislative days (no Kennedy)

      August = 6 legislative days (no Kennedy)

      September = 2 legislative days

      October = 18 legislative days

      November = 14 legislative days

      December = 24 legislative days

      January 2010= 10 legislative days

      February 2010= 2 legislative days (Scott Brown sworn in)

      Total of 48 legislative days with a SUPER majority in 2009 and only 12 additional days before Scott Brown was sworn in.

      And don't forget the RECORD number of 'fillibusters'.

          Chuck Norris and Gena, plagiarized an old Ronnie Reagan quote, 1,000 years of darkness, Ronnie Reagan's authorship, not Chuck and his loon for a wife. Ugly stuff on both sides.

          Nazi comparisons are rarely valid, but if you were going to go all way to invoking them to describe a Republican convention speech, wouldn't Chris Christie's have been a better target? Ryan's speech was full of vague platitudes and dishonest insinuations, but Christie's was full of anger, hostility and division. He has the gall to call for unity and cooperation while simultaneously demonizing his opposition. He demands a smaller government, then says the solution is for stronger leadership with more executive, even autocratic, power. He says we should disregard the will of the American people, then endorses the most spineless, poll-tracking, flip-flopper in recent memory. He demands that politicians tell the country the hard truths, then offers none of his own, and endorses the most cynically dishonest nominee in recent memory.

          I understand a political operative's desire to focus on Romney and Ryan, and I don't agree with the label, but if there was one speech from last week that deserves scorn and derision, it was Christie's.
