In Charlotte, Democrats are poised to insist that their economic vision is better for America than that outlined by Mitt Romney; they insist the country is better off than it was four years ago. NBC's Chuck Todd reports.
DETROIT -- Amid a GOP-driven effort asking whether Americans are better off than they were four years ago, Vice President Joe Biden emphatically declared that "America is better off" now than at the end of the Bush administration.
"Folks, let me say something to you, say it to the press," Biden said at the conclusion of his remarks at a Labor Day rally here in the Motor City. "America is better off today than they left us when they left!"
The question, a staple of elections in which an incumbent is seeking re-election, has developed into a small media imbroglio since surrogates for President Barack Obama appeared hesitant this weekend to give a positive answer.
Democratic Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley answered that question with a "no"; Obama advisers David Axelrod and David Plouffe offered nuanced responses but not a flat "yes."
Republicans pounced in the meanwhile, and the GOP held a press conference today in Charlotte, the site of the Democratic National Convention, to push that very question.
Biden's statement makes him the highest-ranking Obama surrogate to weigh in on the back and forth.
Repeating his frequent "bumper sticker" mantra, Biden said in Detroit: "If you want to know whether we're better off, I got a bumper sticker for you: Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive!"
Romney spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said in response: "Today, Vice President Biden claimed that Americans are better off than they were four years ago, directly contradicting what President Obama and his campaign surrogates have said. The truth is that the middle class has been crushed in the Obama economy."
Biden, who spoke to several hundred supporters at the AFL-CIO-sponsored event, focused heavily on labor issues in his remarks and blasted Romney for opposing the Obama-backed bailout of the auto industry.
"Folks, you can't say you're going to create jobs in the United States of America when you were willing to let 1m jobs go under by the liquidation of the automobile plants he suggested," Biden said.
He also went after Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, repeating a line first debuted yesterday in Pennsylvania to attack the Wisconsin congressman's Medicare plans.
"We're talking about making sure to protect Medicare. They're talking about creating an entire new system, 'Vouchercare,'" he said, warning "if they win, people are in trouble."

Right Joe. That is why if the same amount of people were looking for work as the very day Obama took office, the unemployment rate right now would be 10.9%.
Agreed... we are better off than 4 years ago.
Dow Jones over 13,000 instead of the abysmal 7,000 in the last year of Bush.
but as the saying goes, you are better off, but sometimes you don't know it.; and on the other hand, human desire is infinite.
Even more valid a queston should be...
Do you want to go back to the same old failed policies of Bush?
Emphstically...NO......to the Party of NO
Yes, we are better off...
.....the list can go on for a long time for Obama's achievements.
I am sure there is still room for improvement, but we are going in the right direction. Do you want to interrupt this and go back to the same old failed Republican policies?
Pigotry:
Interesting viewpoint you just posted, but #3, #4, #6, and #8 that is your just opinion. Funny how Democrats keep stating how horrible the G W Bush policies were, but yet they keep demanding to kept them in place... The USA stock market began it fall like a rock after the November 2008 election and B H Obama spent months bad mouthing the USA economy. He scared the markets. It only settled down when he stop. That is not my opinion, that is fact.
I am look forward to watching the Democrats' show this week. I am wondering what they offer to give away and who they will steal it from.
What does anyone expect Joe Biden to declare? They really have a hard time highlighting their first term. They seem to be stating - will four (4) years is really not enough time to get anything achieved even though we had total control of Washington for two (2) years, so please give us another four (4) years, p-l-e-a-s-e.
The Obama/Biden 2013-2016 Plan - more divide and conquer. "We are Democrats with a socialist agenda and we will not stop until everyone has the same amount of nothing", how is that for their slogan?
@pigotry
Pretty much every point you made is not only wrong but widly wrong.
Actually they are still on life support and producing products most people don't wan't Ford has far higher sales! Further had the disaster in Japan not occured the sales would have been even further off.
Really where is the body? Where is the proof no body no proof you can't honestly expect America to believe Government especially with this regime in power???
Further now we see our government actually working with elements of Al qaeda and the Muslim brotherhood leading me to question was it all smoke and mirrors like Alex Jones and Conspiracy nutters said all along?
Not by along shot! we still have troops in Iraq and contractors the war is not even remotely over.
As far as Afghanistan we are losing a soldier a day to enemy fire and one every other day to suicide.
ROTFLOL really?
Solyndra, his sealed school records, tony rezko land deals, Fast and furious, GM stock holders and bond holders sure got raped, Keystone pipeline derailment, scandal plagued cabinet nominations yea Obama is a mess.
Most of which won't even keep up with population growth!
UGH Actually people are wondering what kind of drugs Obama is on and laugh at him.
No worries it will crash again and even harder real soon.
Nope actually they are still dropping.
Quit drinking the bong water.
benr - The DJ will crash again IF Romney gets elected. How many jobs were loss under Bush and right when Bush left office? How many will be lost again IF Romney is elected. How many MORE jobs would have been loss IF McCain won??? bin Laden not DEAD? Are you saying the SEAL team are lairs? Property values are up? Look at Florida, just in our neighborhood several abandoned homes are being refurbished and rent or sold. Economy not getting better, you bet it is.
That old "are you better off four years ago" no longer applies. The question now is are you better off with Democrats or with Republicans, and comparing how great things were under Clinton compared to Dubya. Because the Great Recession was so severe and the recovery so difficult, the four year thing is meaningless.
I've mentioned the Lost Decade multiple times, so found this study very interesting: The Lost Decade of the Middle Class - Fewer, Poorer, Gloomier by Pew Research -- http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2012/08/22/the-lost-decade-of-the-middle-class/
After the dot-com bust of 2001 and 9-11, we could have recovered if Bush/Cheney had not started an unnecessary war and worse cutting taxes instead of paying for the wars. The housing bubble gave people a false sense of prosperity. But things have sucked since 2001 and are only now starting to improve under the Obama administration -- And would be improving more quickly without Teapublican obstructionism in congress.
There's no way folks want to go backward to the failed GOP/Bush-era voodoo economics and warmongering. Nothing could be more disastrous than to have Romney/Ryan the 21st Century Robber Barons at the helm.
What else would old "biteme" say, he's nobamas sidekick, kinda like smiley burnette and gene autry...
Homer, Obama did indeed scare the market, by stating he would let the Capital Gains tax cut GWB gave the wealthy (down to 15% from 20%) expire. It's ALL about money, and greed.
Depite what BENR might think (OBL not dead, right, tin-foil hat-wearer), things are LOT better than in later 2008/early 2009. The economy was about to STOP but for the bailouts, both Bush and Obama. Romney was fine letting GM fail, along with the rest of America. The recovery was/is weak, but there is no question things are MUCH better. It's only people who weren't paying attention that missed what was going on, then looked around in 2009, saw carnage, and Obama in the White House. Low information, don't think, hate Obama.
@derf
I think I stated it very plainly let me recap the Economy is not better in fact it's still sliding!
The stock market goes up and comes down so what that is NOT the economy only a small part of it. WHAT ARE WE PRODUCING, WHAT GOODS ARE WE MARKETING where is the demand for American made goods? The job market is enemic at best. I see to many people taking part time jobs to make the ends meet when they can even get one of those!
Again the excuse why they failed to bring Osama's body back to the states is crap.
We were pretty sure he died in a cave at tora bora.
As we have seen over and over this is about propaganda not actually moving forward.
@SmBusOwnerinNY
Despite the quizzling Obama supporters best efforts he has shown nothing in the way of proof either way simply saying I need a tin foil hat. That is the best line the pied piper of stupid always spins. How dare anyone question this regime and all their horrible choices.
No body, no proof, just another pathetic attempt at propaganda from a failed regime running yet another false flag operation.
We need another change Obama is nothing but more of the same in an expensive suit Mitt can't be worse.
If Mitt fails then we vote him out the only change that is good is throwing out the corrupt status quo like Obama and friends.
Whoa! Bite Me Biden affirms we are better off now than we were 4 years ago to several hundred supporters at a AFL-CIO sponsored event. My god, I'm sure all two hundred of them will sleep better tonight after hearing Bite Me proclaim the news! Maybe they can convince those UAW guys at the idled Chevy Volt plant that GM is alive! Maybe he can splain how forcing GM to build a car no one wants make sense. Maybe he can convince the UAW guys that Obama really is smarter than the American car buying public, and he really knows what they want, and more importantly, what they will buy. Maybe he can even get 200 of them to listen.
I'm sure those 200 supporters can't wait to hear Bite Me splain how he and Obama are gonna "save" medicare when he debates Ryan. I know I can't. I wanna hear him splain how he and Obama plan to pay back that $35 trillion in Medicare IOU's they've stuffed under the carpet, hoping no one will notice. I wanna hear how stealing $716 BILLION from Medicare "saves" it.
Seems to me Bite Me saying we're better off now than 4 years ago is kinda like saying falling off a cliff doesn't hurt. Of course he neglected to mention any details about that landing...
BENR, so you're saying SEAL Team 6 are just a bunch of liars?
Mitt is better better off than 4years ago, he made $45Millions the last two years, under
an O'Bama president
Hey JOE BIDEN: it looks like its Vulturecare for the wealthy and Vouchercare for everyone else.
THAT'S what happens when you make cuts to Medicare and give tax cut money to the wealthy Vulturecapitalists.
I am better off now than when Bush left office
@SmBusOwnerinNY
How many times has the US government and several others claimed Osama dead?
How many body doubles does a Saudi Prince have?
A number of people, including former Pakistani dictator Pervez Musharraf, have claimed that Osama bin Laden died in late 2001 at Tora Bora in Afghanistan. Afghan President Hamid Karzai also said he thought Bin Laden was dead, as did Dale Watson, the FBI’s counterterrorism boss.
It was reported in December of 2001 that Osama bin Laden “died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication” and “was laid to rest honorably in his last abode and his grave was made as per his Wahabi belief,” Fox News reported, citing the Pakistan Observer.
In 2011, Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik, a man who held numerous different influential positions under three different presidents and worked with the Defense Department, said that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001.
Pieczenik fist made the claim in 2002. “I found out through my sources that he had had kidney disease,” he remarked on April 24, 2002, several months after it was reported that Osama had died. “ And as a physician, I knew that he had to have two dialysis machines and he was dying. And you could see those in those films, those made-up photos that they were sending us out of nowhere. I mean, suddenly, we would see a video of bin Laden today and then out of nowhere, they said oh it was sent to us anonymously, meaning that someone in the government, our government, was trying to keep up the morale on our side and say oh we still have to chase this guy when, in fact, he’s been dead for months.”
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/aug/29/seal-book-raises-questions-about-bin-laden-death/?page=all#pagebreak
WASHINGTON (AP) — A firsthand account of the Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden contradicts previous accounts by administration officials, raising questions as to whether the terror mastermind presented a clear threat when SEALs first fired upon him.
Bin Laden apparently was hit in the head when he looked out of his bedroom door into the top-floor hallway of his compound as SEALs rushed up a narrow stairwell in his direction, according to former Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette, writing under the pseudonym Mark Owen in “No Easy Day.” The book is to be published next week by Penguin Group (USA)’s Dutton imprint.
What I'm saying is our government has lied to us before why believe them now when Obama is desperate for a poll bump.
Further they changed the official story so many times it really is laughable anyone still believes it.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/04/osama-bin-laden-killing-us-story-change
Yea something is rotten in all of this.
@Pigotry:
1. Ok, I'll give you that one.
2. Osama wasn't really doing anything while he was in hiding, so we're not really "better off" because of that.
3. iraq, maybe (per the timeline originally agreed to under Bush) but certainly not Afghanistan.
4. Does fast and furious count? Does his birth certificate count?
5. The economy always generates jobs. There has never been a time where absolutely NOBODY was hiring. The real question is whether or not job growth is keeping up with unemployment (the answer is no, by the way)
6. Not sure where you got that idea. We are the laughing stock of the world in terms of education, illegal immigration, etc.
7. Everyone knows that what the dow reports means absolutely nothing in the real world.
8. That's just a lie, and you know it.
EVERYONE READ RESEARCH AGENDA 21-

Were....In debt so bad that it may bring the country down.Laughed at by most of the world.
The president dosent have a clue.I could do a better job, like millions i need a job.
I saw axlerod on tv singing that same old Its bushs fault stuff.Demonize the rich and pit white people against minoritys. Its frikin pathetic.
Obama is a constitutional schoaler? He dosent act like it.Just wait the Obama war,his Iran war.Do you think congress well vote on this bad idea?
Good Luck to us all.Congress sure dosent do anything, fckrs have no term limits, whats with that?
pigotry--Do you want to go back to the same old failed policies of Bush?
hell yea! anyone who is happy about the situation we are now in is lying....you're lying to yourself not me.
oh wow...bin laden has made us better off....no diffference in case you have'nt noticed.
ryan wants to overhaul the whole mdeicare system? look at obamacare!
vote nobama 2012....or you deserve what you get.
tired of the new broke
I'm worst than 2007, when start the house debacle as a consequence of Loans deregulation from Democrats to allowed people to buy houses they can not afford. We where much better during 6 years of Bush untill the Democrats took bach the House.
Lunch bucket Biden, said we are better off because GM Goverment Motors is alive. But.......hundred of dealers employees( non-union workers) lost their jobs. Pontiac had to close, Saturn had to close thousand of employees , providers out of work. GM went to bankruptcy and purchased by the government to help union workers and their huge benefits, GM still owe us 23 billions , the stock holders lose their money . GM could be alive if they go to bankruptcy and restructure their costly pension plan and gold benefits without stealing our tax money.
Median Household Income down 8% since Jan. 2009.
Unemployment rate up from 7.3% to 8.3%.
Pell Grants doubled since Jan 2009
Food Stamps doubled since jan 2009.
Federal Debt up $6 Trillion since Jan 2009
American sovereign debt downgraded for the first time in history.
The Dems say we are better off. They are peeing on your leg, telling you it is raining.
John, nice report. Also, U6 unemployment is up double since January 2009 to about 16%, would be 20% if Republicans had not taken over the House in 2010. Also, black male youth U6 unemployment double to about 30% since January 2009. Who are the winners? White guys like Kaiser at Solyndra who got $556 Million in return for a $28 Thousand Obama campaign gift in 2008, and negative jobs as promised, just one example.
Honestly, I don't see why black male youth (or new college graduates) are still in line with Obama, they are the biggest losers of all.

Well but, the problem I have with Republicans is (1) Republicans are unable to identify with what they did wrong in the first place; (2) Republicans are unable to accept responsiblity on any level; (3) Republicans act on what's best for THEIR Party ONLY, NOT what's best for the American People; and (4) Republicans are rough and ready to repeat all of the same WRONG things they did before that brought down the entire United States Economy in the first place, namely their Voo-Doo Economics that Republicans have been trying over and over again for the past 40 some years, that NEVER worked but Republicans continue to do the same things and expect a different result.
In all of those cases which we are confronted with here and now, I'd prefer to go forward than backwards, and I firmly believe that repealing Obamacare is one of the worse things Republicans could do to the American People, that combined with repealing the minimum wage and forcing American Wages lower, reducing finge benefits for American Workers, raising taxes on American Workers, and the list goes on.

John, you don't seem to remember that Republicans DON'T work for "Median Households"! Where has anyone EVER seen the words "Median Household" in ANY Republican "Plan" unless in was in the context of taxing US rather than tax the rich?
Republicans ONLY work for the rich.
Now seriously, how many times do you have to be reminded of that same FACT over and over again?
Obama/Biden 2012
“When it comes to jobs, President Obama makes the Jimmy Carter years look like good old days,” Ryan told about 1,000 supporters. “If we fired Jimmy Carter then, why would we rehire Barack Obama now?”
Ryan has a good point.
All i can say is....I'm a REAL Indian, and i can prove it.
I'm voting for SCOTT BROWN!
And when i finish pulling that lever, I'm voting ROMNEY/RYAN!
I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THE EMPTY PROMISES FROM SOMEONE WHO WASN'T UP TO THE JOB!!!
Al....
But what about Ms. Warren's "high cheekbones" ???? Apache or Cherokee for certain...no ??? One-tenth Mohegan...maybe ???
VP Biden says we are better off than 4 yrs ago "because Osama Bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive". Recent poll shows 36% say they are worse off and 36% say about the same, that equals 72% that hasn't seen any improvement or have lost ground. Not something to run on.
Hello again Sarge, I can tell you as a matter of fact, that I am way better off than I was 4 years ago.
Forrest Grump 2.0":
I am glad to learn that. When you are doing better, the USA is doing better, and there is more money in the economy to make purchases. Supply side economics always works.
What has happen to make you measurable better off?
I more than recouped the $480,000 I lost from my retirement fund when it had lost half of it's value by the end of 2008, and I just landed perhaps the easiest and certainly the best paying job of my life. Id say a half million dollars is measurable.
Forrest Grump 2.0:
Good for you! I wish you well and continued good fortune.
Why do state your new job position is "the easiest"? Did you achieved that or do you credit something else?
I achieved it, or my resume did, I was referred to this company through a headhunting agency, I say the easiest because for the first time in my life I will not be working under or for the members of a collective bargaining unit, (with the exception of my small consulting business, which I shut down a couple of months ago). I will strictly be white collar supervision. I won't touch a tool, I won't get all sweaty, I'll wear nice clothes, I will travel and stay in very nice hotels and eat in nice restaurants when I am on the road, all on the company credit card. They are going to pay me more than I ever made as a union employee and the benefits are lavish, and to top it all off, if the people who I supervise work real hard they will pay me a bonus instead of the people that actually did the hard work. I find it strange that many of the same people who might tell me I expected too much as a union worker will now gladly accept that I am paid much more to watch and direct others to do the work, as management in the same industry I have worked for most of my life. I will treat the crews I supervise around the country and their collective bargaining unit/agreement if they have one with the dignity, respect, and consideration they earn and deserve everyday, because I know what they do, I know how hard they work, and I know there is not a dimes worth of profit for anybody without the benefit of their labor.

(Not brought to you by the Obama Administration)
Mr Obama's "Green" EPA (Does he want us to save GM by buying a VOLT?):
In June, the EPA waived Clean Air Act restrictions on the sale of E15, a fuel blend containing 15 percent corn alcohol. A coalition of automakers, fearful that a boost of ethanol in fuel will harm engines, succeeded in winning a temporary stay of the waiver. On Aug. 17, however, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit swept away a legal challenge to the sale of “midlevel” ethanol, ruling that the manufacturers lacked standing to contest the EPA’s waiver.
The EPA announced in 2010 that E15, which has 50 percent more corn juice, was safe for use in model year 2007 cars and newer. Then, last year, the agency designed a pump label to warn drivers of older cars about misfueling dangers.
The Association of Global Automakers contends E15 is more corrosive than gasoline and could damage cylinder heads, requiring $2,000 to $8,000 in labor-intensive repairs, depending on the type of engine. This would come directly out of the pockets of car owners because use of E15 would void auto warranties.
Hey Forest - Sounds like you got a gig with those party animals at GSA! Party on! Until November 6, when you turn back into a pumpkin!
Forrest: I hope you still have whatever you might have had from the union (pension ?, 401K rollover ?)
Nothing wrong with a union, if the members are still willing to work hard and get the job done.
That is one nice thing about this down turn, the slackers that were present have been pretty much put out to pasture. Employers truly don't have to accept poor quality work. No one looks good if the quality of work of one worker destroys the work of an entire crew. In this economy, that can push a company into bankruptcy.
Now that you are on the management side, you know that management and labor are a team. Just as taxpayers, business, labor, government all must work together to improve the economy.
When one group decides that they do not want to be part of the solution, they become the problem. That is what the Republican party has become.
@Tim I won't be working for the GSA, it is a huge American company with various divisions, headquartered in California, whatever happens in Nov. will not jeopardize my position.
@Dirp, even when I helped negotiate union contracts (for the union) I always looked for ways in which labor and management could work together for the good of both, and the majority of the union employers in my industry also realize that we are codependent on each other for the mutual success of both labor and the owners. Yes we have our differences and our disagreements but in the end the relationship was never as antagonistic as some might want to believe.
The beauty of my pension benefits were that they were a negotiated percentage of my gross paid each month into a my own (each member has their own) private account. So your are fully vested from day one, it is not a deal where you work 35 years for a set amount each month, it is not a 401k where I have to put a dollar of mine in before they contribute some amount. The problem with a matching 401K is that some of these employers pay such low wages that they know you will not have a buck left to put away and so they know there will be little or nothing for them to match. My contract called for employer contributions as a percentage of my gross whether I put anything in or not. Now in addition to that I did put some money in a 401K, that has nothing to do with the employers, (other than their payroll department does the deduction and transfer the money) and is not matched by them, and again I was fully vested from day one so I am not in danger of losing any of my retirement fund due to a career change. BTW nobody would chew a brother members ass any harder or quicker than myself for shoddy work, our work is what we sell, the work is sacred, in those very rare cases the offender probably would rather had management deal with them instead of me.
My family certainly isn't better off financially since Obama was elected. First our retirement investments steadily lost and we now have 60% less than we should have. Then after Obamacare passed, we lost our insurance because our employers could not afford the increase when it more than doubled! After that we lost our jobs - again because the small businesses we worked for could not keep their doors open. And, if all that wasn't enough we lost our home. All we have left is easch other and our ability to make our own way.
Joe tell the truth for once
Auto makers, unions ,and the Bush administration were in the deal process when Obama took office. so all Obama did is close out the unfinished business.
Bush started the process and Obama finished.
Why don't you tell the truth that most of the bail out money went to GM operations overseas where they were struggling the most. so any shut down would have happened in operations overseas.
I did my research into GM and found a lot of corruption in the Europe and Asia divisions and this is why Romney did not want to see US tax payer dollars supporting the overseas corruptions.
So when are you and Obama going to start telling the truth?
ROMNEY/RYAN 2012
I know people dont want to beleave that but would they beleave that GB rode in on things Bill Clinton did that made him look good.
obamacare is and will be a disaster for our economy. obama stated, "the individual mandate would be of no good to anyone", when he campained against hillary. yet he spent half his term anal about passing the mandate.
garden to eat...above---a story of many and many more to come. we cannot afford to lose everything over the health mandate. obama will bring our country down and has done a good job at it so far.
nobama 2012--tired of the new broke
I guess "the new broke" does notice that the ACA we were told would cost $900 billion has already more that doubled in expected price...and growing !!! As a member of "the new broke"...I just read that health insurance companies in my state have put in their proposed premium rate increases for the coming year at 12.5% to 14.5% to help cover the costs of ACA mandates. ACA rules dictate that any health insurance company rate increase of more the 15% per year would be subject to a public hearing...I guess Madame Pelosi felt consumers wouldn't notice rate increases of up to 14.99% and that insurance providers would be keeping their rate increases under the cap to keep themselves from televised public hearing. So tweleve and fourteen percent rate increases didn't seem to bother the former Speaker of the House.
A tiny percentage of consumers do notice these things...they're called newspaper subscribers ! The folks that see the small articles with the big details.
What else can the Dems do, but lie?
Median Household Income down 8% since Jan. 2009.
Unemployment rate up from 7.3% to 8.3%.
Pell Grants doubled since Jan 2009
Food Stamps doubled since jan 2009.
Federal Debt up $6 Trillion since Jan 2009
American sovereign debt downgraded for the first time in history.
The Dems say we are better off. They are peeing on your leg, telling you it is raining.
Solyndra is dead and Hopey Changey is dead.
YES! We are better off then 3 1/2 years ago when Obama took over. We are adding jobs, not bleeding them. We make American cars and more of them than ever, not allowing importers to take over our auto manufacturing empire. We are admired and respected around the world. Not mocked as drunk, English language challenged simpletons pretending to be leaders. We are out of an illegal war in Iraq. Bin Laden is dead! Thanks President Obama! Yes, we are much safer and better off today than 3 1/2 years ago. Obama/Biden 2012.
Thanks Ana, you never cease to make me laugh.
Absolutely AB...How about the stock market/DOW....It's doubled in those 3 1/2 years!
A Lot of folks must be very happy (maybe they don't admit it).....but...
oor AnaB - everything she clings to is just wrong.
'Cept the Bin Laden thing. Go Seal Team 6.
Spanky what about the markets, the dow, nasdaq, and S&P are all more than double what they were in Nov. 2008, that's a pretty impressive improvement in wealth, doubled in four years, very impressive rebound under a president who supposedly is so very bad for business. I'm better off than I was four years ago, twice as good!
Moron.. The DOW, Nasdaq and S&P are not true indications of the economy. Try 23 million people out of work, almost one million less workers today than when Obama took office, Housing prices still below 2008 levels and net wealth of Americans down over the last 4 years. "Oh but the DOW is good!" Hypocrite.. The banks and wall street are doing well, and you continue to bash them as the 1%, but then you are the first to point to them and say, "Ohh ohh theyre are doing well so the economy has to be better" Loser..
No I was a big loser under GW Bush, I lost $480,000 of my retirement portfolio, it was cut in half, I have gained all that back and then some, the last four years have been a real winner for my personal wealth coming back. So how well do you think jobs, and housing prices would be if the market was still where republican leadership left it in 2008. Call me a moron if you wish but I am a half million dollars better off than where republican leadership left me, and I am constantly told to just ignore that by republicans who claim to be independents because they don't want to be identified with the party that was on duty when the economy crashed and burned beyond recognition.
How about we all ask the Rich and Wealthy people, the millionaires and billionaires how they are doing now. Are you better off now then under Bush???But then how many of them read these articles and would reply to them??
It amazes me how brain dead people can be. The stock market is on it's highs because companies have cut numerous jobs; jobs that are not coming back because the bottom line is what matters to shareholders. Those who praise Obama for a higher stock market are the same dopes who criticize companies that are in the one percent, according to the messiah. The stock market is also going higher because the dollar is crap, and for every percent the dollar falls the stock market goes higher because it's priced in dollars. This just goes to show you how ignorant people are.
Forrest Gump: just because the stock market doubled from it's lows does not mean that all portfolios have done the same. I would guarantee you that if everyone's money has doubled in the past three and a half years, Obama would be a shoe -in; this election would not even be close. As a matter of fact, I'll put a challange out there to call out anyone, including you, who doubled their money in the past three plus years. Tell me what funds you invested in that doubled in that time frame. I think they are far and few if any at all.
Oh yeah Rational Randy, the dollar is crap, it's worth about 38 cents, but hey I will give you 50 cents for evert single one you can get your hands on. I'm brain dead because I think that having my half million crappy dollars back is better than not having it? Really? I am not an investment advisor but I am heavy into the nasdaq, mid caps is where my big stake is.
Unless you has one particular stock like Apple that kicked ass, you did not double your money. What stocks have doubled your money? Since the lows of 08, my portfolio has increased 34%. It has not doubled. Now if you pick an individual stock such as Goldman, Metlife etc; you could have doubled your money. In a fund I don't think so. I have doubled my money in particular stocks, but money invested in funds have only generated 34%. I have not heard of any fund doubling their money in this time frame. And though you don't see it, you are getting 38 cents on the dollar by paying four bucks a gallon for gasoline, three dollars a gallon for milk, three dollars for a loaf of bread and all other commodities that are skyrocketing in price. Europe is a freakin mess and the euro is still worth 25 % more than the dollar. What does this tell you?
randy
I am a level 3 trader and you are right and lets not forget that the markets rebounded from the government caused collapse by June of 2009.
Of course Obama will not dismantle Fannie,Freddie, and the GSA. He will continue to blame bush instead of the real culprit.
Yes it was Fannie and Freddie that caused the melt down and Barney Frank was in charge.
The Problem is every one in the government put too much confidence into the wisdom of Alan Greenspan and that was costly to all of us.
So anything that has happened after June 2009 is a result of the failed and not right for America Obama policies.
ROMNEY/RYAN 2012
The market is a lie.Look around do you see a vibrant economy that would produce such numbers? The fed is pumping money into the market and europeans are trying to do something with theyre money because at the moment were not as bad off as them.
Our economy is printing money and debt. Its a house of cards waiting to fall.Go ahead and leave your money in the market,Lets see what happens after the elections.
You all think the put out more than we take in system can last?
I dont like Obamas thinking or actions.Romney is only a small amount better.Congress does knothing. I know with all the debt spending its hard to beleave but were in a depression, the government is 16 trillion in debt,INSOLVENT. Your all living in a fantasy/du-nial.
annabanana---We are admired and respected around the world. Not mocked
ha ha ha ha!
Our national debt will be topping $16,000,000,000,000 as in "trillions" during the Democrat Convention...don't know how many foreign countries will be "admiring" that !
The Democrats would have you believe this is the first president in the history of history that had problems to deal with on Day One.
John...
You mean...there have been other presidents in our past that also had to deal with major problems inside or outside our nation's borders ??? Hmmmmm. I thought Mr. Obama had all the problems from the past 236 year all heaped up in his in-basket.
Obama has only incurred more debt than all the presidents through Clinton...combined.
It's true, that Odumbo was trying to get someone to replace Biden after his babbling about getting everyone back in chains. Hillary told him to shove the job up you know where, and was getting as far from Odumbo as possible from him to have a chance at 2016. You're stuck with "babbling Joe, Odumbo. The only chance the democrats might have , is if they replace both of them during the convention! Do they have anyone there with even half of a brain to do the job? Watch, when you're walking down your street. You might just see "babbling Joe , walking around in a daze, lost again! Do we really need someone like this as second-in command!
dandydon1
Nah, I want someone who lies. Someone who voted against food inspections cuz I trust the meat industry not to sell me downed cow. I want someone like Ryan.
blackcarwhitecat, true what you said. They prefer to have their politicians lie to them, so long as they get what they want - a war mongering deregulating leader who is willing to stuff it to the working/middle classes.
Of course we are better off than we were 4 years ago. It shouldn't even be a question. It's not just about the economy. It's about our whole way of life here in the United States.
The wealthy have been having a field day taking good wages, benefits, regulations and yes - democracy itself - away from us. Look at what the Republicans are doing in here the 21st Century with voter suppression. Look who they expect to foot the bill so they can continue to have their tax breaks.
They go out on the campaign stump and lie constantly. Every single thing that comes out of their mouths is a lie. Their idea for fixing the economy is just a rehash of the GWB years, only worse.
They're itching for a war with Iran. They're itching to start up a cold war with Russia. They're itching to see the American worker receive lower and lower wages. Their idea of helping the planet is to deny we have a problem. Their racism is front and center for all to see.
We have a president and vice president who are fighting for us. It's been a long long time since we have had that. We finally have leaders who have our backs.
So who is kidding who? Are we better off than we were 4 years ago?
A resounding yes. We have come a long long way in these few short years.
And the best part of it is that we the people are now in a position to get around the media establishment. The GOP puts out a lie and now we the people ourselves can challenge it - in all of two minutes.
Not only are we better off than we were four years ago. But so isn't our standing around the world.
Thanks to Democrats.
The Republicans are dangerous and there is no way we would as a society be better off with them in power. Look at all Romney is hiding - his taxes, his MA Gov record, his Olympic record and most importantly - he's hiding the truth.
Someone with his character does not a leader make. And Ryan? Clueless.
Tell me.
What exactly have the Republicans done to see to it that we are better off than we were 4 years ago?
Nothing. They never even asked what they could do to help us through the recession. Never even bothered to talk to we the people face to face.
They have Grover and the Koch Brothers.
The rest of us? Democracy. And we plan on keeping it.
A comment I saw posted over @ the HuffingtonPost the other day. Yes, we are better off. Let's keep it that way.
Anyone who votes for Romney is voting for an extreme Republican agenda – one which sends chills down my spine. These are the goals of today’s Republican Party. Think hard before you vote:
1) Dismantle Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
2) Reinstate the "Don't Ask / Don't Tell" law
3) Ban all state same-sex marriage laws
4) Reduce taxes on the rich and corporations and raise them on everyone else
5) Shrink programs that help the poor
6) Repeal the ACA and cut off federal medical assistance for 30M uninsured people
7) Eliminate programs that provide international aid and assistance
8) Abolish the CFPB, SEC and other federal programs that regulate the financial and investment industries
9) Abolish the DOE, EPA and all environmental regulations
10) Abolish the Department of Education
11) Make all abortions illegal
12) Eliminate support for Planned Parenthood and other women's groups
13) Ban the birth control pill
14) Weaken child labor laws, allowing younger teens to work longer hours
15) Destroy public labor unions
16) Weaken all unions
17) Create laws to make registering and voting more difficult
18) Regulate speech and Internet communications
19) Destroy PBS and National Public Radio
20) Eliminate all public funding for the arts
21) Reduce spending on infrastructure
22) Establish Christianity as the national religion for the USA
23) Ban all Muslims from entering the US or becoming citizens
24) Ban all mosque construction
25) Go to war with Iran and Syria
Is this the future you want?
blackcat , you should try to get out more! Just staring at those faded campaign posters, and scratched up bumper stickers of Odumbo on your wall are making you a little funny. Check out Odumbo's healthcare plan. They have it printed on toilet paper, so eventually you can find out what is wrong with you. (Try to get a job, and get your mind off of it) Good Luck!

blackcat lives in Canada and is not a US citizen so he can't even legally vote. I'm puzzled as to why he/she continues to post on this board about US politics. I guess things in Canada are boring!!
Pat Boston MA.
Please - are we supposed to believe the BS from the HuffPo?? My goodness you can't be that naive - then again.......
(1) Don't have to dismantle SS, Medicare and Medicaid. The CBO has been telling us each year for decades, they are unsustainable in their current form. Vote Democrat and they will fail by themselves anyway. Democrats have no plan to save these programs other than empty rhetoric and promises.
(4) Big lie. Romney's plan calls for across the board cuts.
(5) How is upping the poverty level and giving away more food stamps, section 8 housing, free cell phones, and free Medicaid health care going to move people OUT of welfare? How will that reduce annual deficits?
(6) ACA is already costing more. If by ACA law, health plans are going to have to provide a certain level of care and premiums are already going up to reflect that, how are the 30 million going to afford healthcare if they can't afford it now??
(7) I've read many comments from those on the left that want to do this as well. it's not a one party idea.
(8) Dodd Frank is killing the lending and investment business. There's too much conflicting language such that no one wants to lend for fear of complying with one part of the law and unknowingly violating another part of the law. Dodd Frank never addressed Fannie and Freddie, still underwater yet still on the books as government programs which were the reasons we got into the mess in the first place. The stock market is basically gone sideways recently. Besides, isn't this OWCs goal to kill Wall Street? I mean who needs capital investment anyway?
(9) The DOE was established in the 1970s by Carter to ween us off of foreign oil. What a great job they're doing for a dept that costs $25 billion and after 35 some odd years, we're still in the same boat. The EPA? They're into regulating coal and farmers' dust. Heck of a job they're doing. The coal mining states will surely vote for Obama. Where's those big windmills and solar panel fields to replace the coal fired plants?
Oh yeah, the environmental groups didn't like T Boone Pickens' transmission lines going through certain Federal lands so they blocked development. No nukes allowed either from your BANANA crowd. Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything. We've got a lot more oil and gas we ever thought we had. Romney's plan is to put people back to work by developing our resources instead of giving away US grant money to foreign countries to do it.
(10) Half of what we send to the Dept of Education stays in DC and is eaten up in administrative costs. I'd rather eliminate the Dept of Education so I'd have double the funds to spend on education in my own state.
(11) No. But I believe if it's a women's right to choose, it's also her responsibility to pay for it...not the taxpayer and especially the taxpayer who doesn't agree with abortion.
(12) See #11.
(13) No, I just don't think the taxpayer should be responsible for pills that cost the equivalent of several Starbuck's lattes which most women can afford. And if you're poor woman, you can get them under Title IX funding I believe.
(14) So, I guess those jobs I had as a kid preparing me for life as a working adult should be eliminated?
(15) Even Roosevelt thought that public labor unions should't have the power to shutdown government through militant action.
(16) Unions have weakened themselves with labor leaders as corrupt as they say CEOs and big business are. Many labor leaders simply want the dues and spend it politically on a political party some of their union members might not agree with.
(17) Oh yeah, the Democrats have never fixed any votes. Dead Democrats have never voted...and signatures and voting registration forms and absentee ballots have never been faked. Sure. Can you say The Chicago Daley machine and the easy-to-commit-voter-registration-fraud program, the Motor Voter Act??
(18) Oh you mean like the Fairness Doctrine so that Democrats can kill AM talk radio and Fox news? Gee, then all the news and comments will be plain vanilla Democrat talking points and have no criticism or opposition to the left or Obama? Is that what you mean?
(19) Why shouldn't PBS and NPR stand on their own like Fox and AM talk radio does? See #18.
(20) I'm not particularly religious, but I don't think public money should be spent on pictures, paintings or photos that desecrate religious beliefs like the famous Cross or Blessed Mother in the Urinal thing.
(22) if you really believe that, I have some unconstitutional swamp land in Florida for you.
Do you live in Disney World's Fantasyland?

If you are puzzled as to why I or the world is interested in what the most powerful nation is up to, then I am puzzled as to why the foolish who could ask such a question are allowed to vote.

If you are puzzled as to why I or the world is interested in what the most powerful nation is up to, then I am puzzled as to why the foolish who could ask such a question are allowed to vote.
I am just puzzled as to why you would want to try to sway American opinion. What is in this for you except some perverse type of political voyeurism? You should be happy that Canada has the lowest Debt-to-GDP in the G7 economies and it has come out the recession stronger than any other rich country in the G7. We on the other hand have Obama and you want us to continue with him.
The Canadian debt is a bit more than $590 billion vs $16 trillion here but to be fair it is easier to state it as each Canadian currently owes approximately $17,270.86 as their share of the Canadian national debt vs each American who currently owes approximately $52,631 as their share of the US national debt.
Unlike the way your conservative PM Harper and his conservative government have helped Canada it seems to me that you would like to further sabotage our attempts to recover by getting us to keep this failure of a president and having us fall even farther behind.
Thanks for your opinions but now that we all know your reasons for posting here I would say no thanks.
REB-1013231
I'll keep it to two points.
1:Your Financial Industry almost brought the world to total collapse.
2: Your military might and foreign policies are more often than not destabilizing.
BTW, I am not a Canadian and there are many non-americans posting on this board. This is the internet. Here's a question for you ... why has the Tea Party opened up offices in Australia, New Zealand, England, Canada, etcetera?
blackcatwhitecat
I take your first point but really the situation in Europe is just as bad if not worse due to the European type socialism economic policies that Obama wants to institute here. Also the Democratic policies of Clinton and Frank where "everybody deserves the American dream of owning a home even if you can't qualify for the mortgage" forced the banks to devise the horrible derivatives solutions which eventually led to the crisis.
Second our military might and foreign policies also protect the entire free world. I don't see everybody complaining when we spend the bulk of the money and blood in protecting the rest of the world from two bit dictators.
You may not be Canadian but you live there and pay taxes there and have probably found a way to vote there.
Personally I have not seen any reports of Tea Party offices in Australia, NZ, Canada and England. Those are all Commonwealth countries and perhaps the tea party's you are referring to occur at 4 pm.
REB-1013231
as to tea at 4
wtp2012.com/about/index.html
It would be illegal for me to vote in Canada. I also lived in the US for several years and paid taxes. I did not vote, taxation without representation. You get to live with it when moving about the globe.
Perhaps you should adopt the Canadian system as it seems to be doing so well, or apply for Provincial status.
blackcatwhitecat
Perhaps people around the world have the same feelings i.e. Taxed Enough Already!! BTW I didn't see the Kiwi flag or the Union Jack.
Thanks for the suggestion but if I wanted to live in Canada I would have gone there to avoid the draft in 1971. I didn't and served my country which right or wrong is still the USA.
You on the other hand have followed the money. Nothing wrong with that but try not to force your Obama opinions on me when you don't even live anywhere you can legally vote.
Thanks for playing.
REB-1013231
I am here for the duration whether you like it or not.
pat---what country are you from? i would not want your thinking watching my back. whatever planet you're from go back and take your herobama with you.
nobama 2012
tired of the new broke
blackcatwhitecat
Yes I suspect you will thanks to the military might which you dismiss but which allows people like you to continue to post your drivel. Fortunately there is an ignore button which I will use since you obviously don't have anything of interest to say in my opinion.
hey dandi lyin don,
If you want to be funny when insulting blackcat try being original. Don't channel that stiff on the b-side f the GOP ticket
Pat...
I'll print out your list and keep it in my pocket in case anyone asks me for 100% certifiable truths of what the Republican Party hopes to accomplish...why bother debating or disputing anythng you wrote...it's kind of like the "10 Commandments" only with far better research involved. Or were Republicans hoping to add a Commandment or two to the original ten ??? I figure that if anyone knows, you would.
Joe Biden is either the dumbest person to ever hold the office of the Vice President- or the craftiest.
He's certainly the first to getaway with charging the Secret Service RENT for protecting his family- which is pretty crafty.
He gets away with insulting ethnic groups- introducing himself to Greek Americans as "Joe Bidenopoulis ", telling an Indian American you "can't get into a 7-11 without an accent", and, famously, telling African Americans that republicans want to "put y'all in chains"- pretty dumb.
He was put in charge of stimulus spending- and gave this network big bucks for advertising- pretty crafty.
He is all about a "three letter word J O B S". -pretty dumb.
It's kind of hard to tell with this guy - and, honestly, as long as he's unemployed after November- I really don't care which is which.
"He gets away with insulting ethnic groups- introducing himself to Greek Americans as "Joe Bidenopoulis "
Ha I didn't know he said, that is not insulting, thats damn funny, and damn good politics, that's exactly the kind of thing I really like about Joe.
The Romney campaign can only wish and dream that he or Ryan, could connect with people the way Biden does.
Don't blame Joe Biden he obviously has suffered brain damage from a stroke or something else.
As far as Obama he can't put a cogent sentance together without his trusty teleprompter.
With all that said I really Don't like Mitt Romney.
My gut says vote Obama out and in four years throw Mitt out.
Nobody likes Romney he was just the last homely girl left before the republican dance ended. Granted there will be many republicans who hold their nose and vote for him, but it will not be enough and they are not located in the states he needs to get him to the 270 electoral votes he needs to win.
OH no joe seems like you forgot about Dan Quale
Way to go Forrest. I too like Joe Biden. He may be a little rough around the edges but he calls em like he sees em. I haven't heard of anyone being insulted except teabaggers ,who as you know are little more than the flavor of the month
I think he was brain damaged he got those hideous hair plugs in the 70's. He's a joke and a bad joke at that.
Joe Biden isn't simply "rough around the edges"...he is an idiot. If Stupid Joe was running for any office as a Republican he'd be getting torn to pieces. Just a tad too many Freudian slips to point away from the fact that he has made more niwittedly racist statements than any Republican politician you might choose to name. This cannot be denied. The 'tearing to pieces' would have began the day after Stupid Joe announced to the world that the black guy who would soon be his boss was "articulate and clean". Very glad the future veep checked into Mr. Obama's hygiene and pronounced him 'good to go'.
John...
Have you considered that Stupid Joe didn't have those plugs installed to re-start hair growth, but rather it was to stop the leakage ???
The last time this mouthpiece shot from the lip ,"We the People learned" how our Pres. can evolve in office.
Our lesson when Obama answers the media questions about Joe's comment?
Can't wait to see if he'll have his teleprompters on.
If he approves Joe's message...is Obama delusional? If he denies Joe's statement as fact, is he once again evolving into a truthful politician? Is there even such a thing as truthful politician or does it remain an oxymoron?
Last election was a great experiment for the American people. We did the right thing but with the wrong person, if it would of been Powell or Rice America would be a better nation today than it was. We needed a leader not a professional politician. This grand experiment needs to end, we are not better off than 4 years ago! Anyone that runs or owns a business or who still has a good job knows this now. I am looking at having my taxes raised to over 40 % ( better look at what the Oboma administration has before congress), they want to tax my medical, something I have worked for for over 40 years, they want me to work harder and longer before I retire. I've worked and paid taxes since 1968 thru boom time and recession. My wife and I both own our own businesses, started without government help I might add, plus I work for a major aerospace company. Let America work, keep your hands off of our economy, and Mr Biden, get your head out of where it is and look around, what your smelling isn't Roses, it's what your trying to feed the American people.
we can no longer afford this administration and it's policies!
First time i listened to Herman Cain i said i wish he was the president.
wizard--
you are right on about that. the only reason obama won was because he's black not because he's smart. anyone named above would have been incredible for this country.
Chartsweb is right. I hate to admit it, But Mr. Obama was elected for the wrong reasons. The whole Democrat playbook is based on playing to our guilt (not justified).
We elected the wrong guy for the wrong reasons.
I read somewhere that over 95% of black voters voted for the "black" candidate.
Obviously because he's "black". Is that the right reason to make him president?
Biden: 'America is better off' after first Obama term.
Well that settles it. Joe says you're better off so suck it up and feel good.
That is one stupid a$$hole, and the scary thing is he's a failed heartbeat away.
Biden dosent impress me.Not a good example.
I can't believe Obama lets Biden to roam free on the campaign trail. He is a gaffe away from throwing the election.
We are absolutely better off as a nation.
Of course there are individuals that are not better off. There always are, but we are without question heading in the right direction.
Worst recovery in history
We are still close to one million jobs less now than when the president took office
The banks you so desperately said shouldn't get a bailout and call the 1%. Hypocrite..
General Motors and Chrysler still make horrible cars and the stock is in the tank.
Housing market is fluid, and in some markets have not begun to rise. AZ, NV, CA. More than half of all homes in those states are underwater
War is over.. Gitmo is still open.. Afghanistan is still going strong. Drone strikes are on the rise
BIn Laden KIA by seal team 6, not the president
AFA did nothing to lower health care costs, just made those with insurance (myself) have premiums increased.
Obama still lost more jobs than he created..
Broken promises..
Close Gitmo
Debt cut in half
Most transparant government in history
Unemployment under 6%
He is either a liar or incompetent. Either way not deserving of a second term
you had better pinch yourself., and maybe you will wake up! Odumbo is useless!
Ha I find it strange that republicans constantly talk about the recovery and Obama's leadership, when 8 years of republican leadership and economic stewardship is exactly what we are trying to recover from.
And FORREST. What have they done to HELP the people of America?? The Republicans have done nothing to help the economy, except but say NO to everything Obama as proposed or planned. They only want to deregulated, cut taxes on everyone, especially the rich and start another work with Iran and maybe Syria. Going back to the same principles that got us in this mess. NO WAY TO BALANCE A BUDGET
Odumbo cannot get even the democrats to pass anything that he proposes. Anyone that would vote for this loser, certainly has to be brain dead., They Probably ate too much of that government cheese, and it plugged up what little brain they have left.
obama's followers have already drank the koolaid and will follow the clown where ever he leads. He's dangerous and should be fired in NOV.GOD save the USA from a living example of the democratic party.
many of you have failed to realise that Bush was part of the establishment which much of it was replaced in 2010.
I have researched the background of Ryan,Walker, and many of their and colleagues and discovered something.
They all are working on restablishing our country back to what are founding fathers and patriots fought for.
A CAPITAL FREE MARKET REPUBLIC.
I was waiting for Biden to say something stupid again. 6 trillion extra dollars in debt is not "better off". higher unemployment is not "better off". adding spendning instead of decreasing spending is not "better off"
Biden is "A grin with a body behind" literally
Biden is delusional. Someone should check him for Alzheimers or Dementia. Maybe he could be the first example of how the bi-partisan commission (death panel) works under Obamacare.
The lefties bash Mitt Romney for being wealthy, but do you really want a veep that is poorer than a church mouse. They don't release exact numbers, but it is around a half million. Not much considering his age.
Absolutely a lunatic. The fact that he is even allowed to say something like this and not have an immediate cry of opposition is even questionable. Obama and his administration carefully surround themselves with ONLY people who have been screened so that it will appear that they have no dissenting views. The only members of the audience we see in these speeches are union members, kids or campaign workers. The general public is kept far, far away from these events. Now they even have to bus people in to fill empty seats in order to appear to put on a good show...
I got news for you BOTH sides do this.
We no longer have officials that care what the majority of Americans want or believe in they cater to special interest groups, monied power brokers and the loudest shrilliest pressure groups.
Wait till Nov. He will bus illegals in to vote
Are we better off now then 4 years ago? HELL NO!!! Joe Biden is a old fool and is always putting his big foot in his big mouth!!! Obama bailed out GM and Wall Street and then had Van Jones start this Occupy Wall Street what a fool!!! Obama has done NOTHING GOOD for America all he has done is lied and printed up money into the TRILLIONS to put us in debt. And what did Obama do with that money? Give it away to Cuba, Iran, Syria, Middle East, Kenya and Pakistan. Obama took care of all his Muslim bothers and sisters. We are the ones going with out and Obama has the nerve to call Romney Romneyhood If anyone is taking from the rich and giving to the poor Obama needs to look in the mirror. Obamahood!!! Obama could care less about the American people. Obama is so Anti - American Communist that he wants to destroy all of us and America. And he needs another 4 years do finish the job. If all you Obama LOVERS want to live under a COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT THUMB then move!!! This is America the land of the free to do as we PLEASE under the CONSTITUTION another thing Obama doesn't believe in. Did you know that all the Muslims here in the USA and that come to the USA are EXEMPT from Obamacare but we Americans have to pay. WTF
Obiden, what a worthless piece of CRAP. If I were a democrat, I would be so-o-o embarrased to have this guy on my ticket. He is a 'Mental Midget'in it's truiest form!
Then their is Lunatic Pelosi talking with "Memory Lapse" Andrea Mitchell, these two gunny birds are as dumb as they get. We need to Flush these two along with Obiden down the toilet to the eternal wasteland of sludge...
Unfortunately, you are way down below him by any measure.
Put Obiden in a body bag and ship his behind to the Taliban for his proper burial...
Pelosi can just be put in a bed of lye with Wasserman-Schultz...
Found this very interesting. Traveling now abroad, in Western Europe, and the lack of respect for Obama is surprising. At a dinner just tonight, I heard repeatedly that the Euros view him as very weak and just a puppet. I did ask "a puppet of whom"...no real answers. But they said he's likeable but not a leader - just a person who can't make any decisions.
Everyone knows George Soros jerks the string and all the Democrats dance to his tune here are a feww other names that set policy globally.

So?
Yes im sure Putin laughs at him.Putin sure isnt shaking in his boots thats for sure.
The economy was in free-fall when Obama was inaugurated. Republicans gave him four hours to turn things around before agreeing to oppose everything he offered. It took Obama four months, not four hours to set the emergency brake. In an outburst of concern for America, Republicans doubled down on opposing all efforts by the president.
Things have been gradually improving as President Obama has made steady progress with a big belligerent, rouge elephant, GOPTEA, on his back and two clowns named McConnell and Boehner trying to kick his feet out from under him.
The difficult was done immediately. The impossible is taking a little longer. Republicans are on welfare, getting paid for doing nothing but trying to regulate women's reproductive organs, ripping up entitlements, and voting to end health care for 30 million Americans.
You are right but you failed to mention that Ryan was on the commitee to help balance the budget and voted against it .
the moron had a democratic house and senate, two years of control,he still couldn't do anything so don't blame the republicans
gunsafety: YOU are SO CORRECT! ALL OBAMA could do, with a lock on both houses is FORCE at tax heavy Health Care bill down our throats ...The economy and jobs WERE NOT his top priority!!!
Obama and Biden couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag in a driving rain, if the only tool they had was a battering ram.
Biden is as deluded as the rest of the Party.
Daily Caller reminds us whose policies truly led to the Great Recession Obama claims he's getting us out of:

While I am not totally satisfied with Obama given the alternatives he will definately get my vote.
He was left a mess to clean up and no help from the opposition to do it. So, all things considered he has done okay. I don't see the Rs offering up anything that would actually work any better than what we've done.
Fool - You're not listening to the R's this time around because Obama has Bamboozeled and Hood-winked you.
I'm not a Democrap or Rebublican, I do however See the Light when it comes to Obama. He's INCOMPETENT and Romney is an Economist, exactly what we need RIGHT NOW..
Adler273784: YOU are dumb and blind! What rock have you been living under??
Obama the "Puppet of Putin" and the Socialist . He is out to DESTROY America !!!
You can't fall for this Joker's lies again !!!
Sharkey: You are so right! Remember the open mic gaffe about three months ago?? Telling the Russian Prime Minister, to tell Putin, he(Obama) would have more flexibility after his next election..the worthless one is ready to sell us down the river... LUCKILY, he WILL LOSE on November 6th!
There are many ways in which we are better off than before Obama took office
- We are a net increase of job creation whereas with Bush we were at a net decrease
- A middle class tax cut and a social security tax cut under Obama put an extra $100 or more in the average
American paycheck (approx $60 - 70/mo with the middle class tax cut after taking office and a reduction in social security taxes from 6.2% to 4.2% starting in 2011). If you get a paycheck it's in there.
- If you have a 401k that is invested even partially in the stock market you have likely seen a substantial increase during Obama's term, this is a reversal from Bush's second term and a rebound from approx 7,000 to the current 13,000
- Combat troops are out of Iraq and there is a clear plan for the removal of troops from Afghanistan
- Bin Laden is dead from a mission that was executed with excellence and yielded the highest possible amount of intelligence
- The US auto industry is revived
- The steep decline was halted and a turnaround is in progress
- Equal pay for women has been legislated
- DADT has been repealed
- More people have access to healthcare and children can't be discriminated against by health insurance companies when they have "preexisting conditions"
- We are more respected internationally
Is it perfect? Of course not. Our President stepped into office with our country in bad shape and expectations of him were higher than for any previous President in my lifetime. Could it be better? Yes, it could be much better if not for the obstructionism of the GOP majority congress who have made it a stated mission to try and make failure for Obama and run on it in this election. Is Obama perfect? Of course not but he is committed to improving the middle class and stopping the decline created by trickle down economics and excessive greed and risk taking in the banking industry.
You been drinking the Kool-Aid
Deluded and uninformed is exactly how Obama likes his base.
You need to see a doctor... you're obviously full of Democratic Chit to believe that we in America are better off after 4 years of the policies & failed attempts of the Obeyme regime.
Wait. You're REALLY Joe 'Foot in Mouth' Biden posting under the name Bademus, right?
Funny all the Bush blaming. You know what i remember about Bush? really low unemployment.
Democrats voting for the dumbas war where we have spent trillions against who?some idiots running around in the sand. It wasnt until the end of GB term that things got messed up and we americans were conned into bailing out the banks.Obama continues this sick thing of the government being cozy with the banks.
Never ending wars for what? Ever increasing debt?were just so screwed.
Harry Reed is that you?
Just having ol' Joe on the campaign trail is like taking nitroglycerine bottles on a roller coaster.
We are not better off now than four years ago.
And the proof of that will come this November.
.

-there are about 1 million fewer people in the workforce than when Obama took office. Unemployment has not been under 8% since he took office. Real numbers place the un/under employed at around 18%.
-why would you take money out of a failing system and on top of that borrow the money to make up for the shortfall; in turn adding nearly 6 trillion in debt
-Obama had nothing to do with the stock market recovering. After the crash brought on by the Democrats, the players in the market was revamped. Strong companies replaced the weaker ones.
-Bush set the wheels in motion for the troop removal in Iraq. The plan was known as SOFA. Obama actually wanted to extend the timeline for troop withdrawal and the Iraqis refused to guarantee protection of our troops
-all kudos goes to the brave members of Seal Team 6. Obama had to be pushed to make the decision and his VP even encouraged him not to. Now we find out that the "official" version is a lie.
-GM owes the taxpayer 25 billion dollars it will never recover plus will undoubtably lose another 18 billion due to the expected loss in stock value. Obama's hand picked board blew the sale of GM Europe which is the drag on the stock price. Chrysler is majority owned by Fiat. He saved nothing but the debt owed to the unions in the form of pensions. Not to mention the failure of the Volt.
-Obama halted nothing. His stimulus was a failure. Paulson and Bush are actually given the credit for halting the slide with TARP.
-Obama's own administration does not even honor the Lily Ledbetter law. Women are paid 18% less than men
-Obamacare will increase the debt and lead to a mediocre health care system. It creates a massive bureaucracy and 77 new taxes. It's also a job killer
-DADT, let's throw a bone to the gays by not enforcing the law
-We are not more respected internationally. Our enemies don't respect us and our allies don't trust us. But on a bright note for Iran, we have thrown Israel under the bus by attempting to secretly convey to Iran we will not support Israel in their attempt to make sure that the most destabilizing country in the region doesn't get a nuclear weapon.
You are deluded and uninformed
Bademus - constantly repeating the Democratic party lies will not make them become truths.
Get off the forums & go back in line for your government cheese handouts...
Bademus misses a good deal of what I would term rightwing metrics of our improvement under Obama
More US energy independence thanks to cheap natural gas(summer 08 gas was around the 4/gal that we pay now), lower rates of illegal immigration, continued low crime rates, smaller state workforces, stronger equity markets and a bottoming out of the housing market. Hopefully less uninsured people jacking up the healthcosts of everyone by getting routine healthcare at the emergency room. Lower taxes.
When I think back to the Bush administration I remember vaguely feeling that I missed the boat by not being a lawyer, in real estate or a military contractor. I do not ever want to feel that way again.
You don't ever want to feel that way again, Mapleneck? Well stay home on November 6th. You Libtards always seem to miss the big picture. You tout Blowbama's "small ball" and cave when it comes to the REAL issues. The national debt just turned over to 16 TRILLION dollars today. How much of that was Jokebama's and his FAILED policies at throwing good money after bad? 6 Trillion. The unemployment numbers are actually up around 18% with the G-6 adjusted figures. The so-called 'shovel-ready' jobs that the Vactaioner-in-Chief seemed to think would save the economy were all phantasms, by your messiah's OWN ADMISSION. Your Pretender-in-Chief 'passed' Jokebamacare in the middle of the night, WITHOUT the approval of Congress, all the time telling Americaa that we could find out what was in it AFTER it passed. And what did we find out? It is the LARGEST tax increase in history and steals $780 BILLION form poor Medicare to pay for your 'routine healthcare'. We have the LARGEST number of people strapped to your socialist-loving leader's Welfare state -the largest number EVER of people on Food stamps, he panders to whatever special-interest group that he thinks he can buy their votes, he flip-flops on issues when he sees fit only to fulfill his left-wing radical agenda, he invokes Executive Priveledge on a whim, to save either a sc*mbag crooked attorney general who blatantly LIED about Fast and Furious, or to cover up life-threatening leaks as they pertain to our military, he has spent MILLIONS of dollars having ALL of his records sealed, he has direct ties to Communists, Muslims and terrorists and their organizations, he has allowed 3,000,000 ILLEGALS into the country (in an election year, no less) and has given them free jobs (if there are actually any left) free education, free healthcare, and all just to get their vote, he hasn't met with his jobs council since MARCH, he has allowed the smearing and lies and prevarication and unfounded character assassination of Gov. Romney, and allowed his minions to run free with baseless accusations of wrongdoing, all the while denying any knowledge of said events. He has NO record, NO ideas, NO solutions and he runs on the 3-D platform...DECEIVE, DENY and DEFLECT. He has apologized for America at every turn and has bowed down to world leaders in this day and age of nuclear threats with no remorse whatsoever.....My god. How can you POSSIBLY defend this man and his dismal record? His FAILED economic and foreign policies? Beacuse he has his own beer recipe? Because he can 'speechify' ? Talk is cheap, and no one can afford his beer. You ceremoniously cling to the Blowbama namdwagon even as your savior drives it right off the cliff. It is a 'Lemming' mentality and it is truly out of touch. We have HOPE come Novemeber, and it is time for a CHANGE.
Come on! He creates debt better than anyone in history. And how about how he works with congress?err sorry he hasnt done that. 70 percent of the american people didnt want Obama care and he uhh ramed it thru anyhow, way to go! His plan of using less energy by getting rid of all those people driving to work, frikin brilliant! Boy without him i would be sitting at home broke and unemployed, eerrr wait ahh well um,crap.
Id like to take the time to thank all the people who said Ross Perot was crazy and NAFTA would create jobs,FYOU ALL! Get rid of the loser Obama so some fresh ideas can flow, mabe someone who can work with anouther partys,Romney has done it,sure couldnt be worse than the guy who never had a job.
I'm a REAL Indian, and i can prove it, and i'm voting for SCOTT BROWN.
And when i get through pulling that lever, i'm voting ROMNEY/RYAN!!!
BELIEVE IN AMERICA !!!!
I wish these Dems would quit telling me I'm better off than four years ago when I know I'm not. Hell, I had to cut back on sex because I can't affort to buy the same amount of condoms as I could under Bush and gas is so expensive that I had to ration my visits for sex. Now I'm afraid that the reduced sex will lead to prostate cancer. God damn Obama. ROTFLMAO Obama is so bad that one has to keep a sense of humor for fear of going crazy mad.
Too late dont think you ever had one if you are making less than 250,000 a year and vote repulican your shooting yourself in the foot
That slutty girl showed us how bad it is when she couldnt afford condoms for all those guys she was bangin.
Some want to blame the Democrats for the depressed economy, saying they had control for two years and then that the bills sponsored by Dodd and Frank (Democrats), which were intended to allow more to enjoy the American dream of home ownership and stimulate the economy, caused the mortgage and financial melt-down. If Obama can be blamed for anything, it would be for trying to work with the Republicans which they repeatedly turned against him with stubborn faulting and arrogant blocking of all efforts. Then the mortgage and financial crises actually developed not because of the bills but because of run-away greed, self-indulgence and gross dishonesty allowed by little enforcement, no oversight and excessive deregulation being rationalized as "conservative" and promoted under Bush-Cheney, as was so much else that developed to crisis proportions. This was seen in the aggressive overselling of the mortgages, their repackaging and reselling, their being repackaged again as derivatives with the risk hidden, resold and then having the insurance companies be on line for the losses - all for substantial profit gained by the few. The Bush-Cheney mentality was obvious as "give it all to "the money" who will then take care of them in return and together they can just con and manipulate the people".
The Democrats aren't all "pure and holy" but they don't have the power, influence and mega-millions of "the money" behind them and they haven't come to be owned and controlled by "the money" without any sincere conscience or real concern for the people, as the Republican / Tea Party literally have. If people allow their biases, prejudices, emotions, fears and blind loyalties to be used to focus on the Democrats shortcomings and to be totally distracted from the reality we have experienced over the last twelve years, that being that the Republicans, in pursuing their political ambitions above all else at any cost to the people, are completely committed to serving only "the money", the 1%, and taking the majority, the 99%, for granted as being "pawns" to be used and abused, ... then we are very apt to be returned to "more of the same", Bush-Cheney style, and that resulting continual total neglect of the people. It really isn't about Republican versus Democrat or 'conservative" versus "liberal" today, it is about "the money" versus the people and the people better be able to take their 'blinders" off and see it.
May I remind you that Barney Frank was in charge of FannieMae/Freddie Mac and he said there was no crisis even as the house of cards was falling down around him. He called those sounding the alarm "Chicken Littles" so don''t blame Bush/Cheney. Barney Frank had oversight and failed totally. And this whole scheme of homeownership started with the CRA and kept getting expanded until everything collapsed. You don't make loans to uncreditworthy people just so minorities can own a home.
I just came from a rally for the man who will challenge stupid joe...this man does not fall over his own lips when he speaks, doe snot put his foot in his mouth before ustterign that a disaterous HC law is a BFD! I hate the guy for his ignorance, but love the jerk he works for for hiring someone lamer tahn himself, just not as crooked!
of course biden thinks things are better, where else could he get a huge paycheck for doing nothing
Change parties and become a republican.
