Poll: Romney's convention speech gets low marks

A new Gallup poll shows that 38% of national adults rated Mitt Romney’s convention speech as either excellent or good -- that's the lowest percentage since Gallup began tracking this question in 1996.

The other past convention speeches:
58% said Barack Obama’s ’08 speech was excellent or good
52% said the same of John Kerry’s ’04 speech
52% for Bob Dole’s ’96 speech
51% for Al Gore’s ’00 speech
51% for George W. Bush’s ’00 speech
49% for Bush’s ’04 speech
47% for John McCain’s 08 speech

Joe Skipper / Reuters

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney takes the stage to formally accept the presidential nomination during the final session of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, August 30, 2012.

The Gallup poll also found that 40% of national adults said the GOP’s convention made them more likely to vote for Romney, while 38% said it made them less likely.

With numbers like those...

It's no wonder Willard is back in the Mittless Protection Program!

Rather than basking in all the glory, Willard decided to go into hiding! lol

Why doesn't he ride the momentum?

Why doesn't he ride the momentum?

He's icing down his nose.

533+ lies and counting. At this rate if Romney gets to sit in the Oval Office his nose will be sticking out of the front door of the White House and disrupting traffic on Pennsylvania Avenue.

I just love my gun jumping libbie friends.

In case you all have forgotten - O and his crew gets to go tomorrow.

So we shall see how he does with his own momentum - which of course right now is going against him.

After all just a couple of months ago he had a decent lead. It's now either straight up tied, of O is losing.

I'm sure he'll right the ship with all his talk this week about the economy.

Sure he will.

What's this I hear that Mitt Romney and his "little sidekick" Paul Ryan want to start a THERMAL NUCLEAR WAR with RUSSIA because they still think RUSSIA, our New Ally and Friend, is still the old UNION of SOCIALIST SOVIET REPUBLIC, USSR, or something like that?

Did Mitt Romney really say that in his Acceptance speech?

Is he Crazy or something?

I'm a former once proud Republican, and I don't like the GOP Republican Party's 1950 thinking that Mitt Romney and his little "side kick" Paul Ryan obviously now believe in.

I don't want to go back to those "DARK DAYS" of George Bush, Dick "Darth Vader" Cheney, Karl Rove (who as we speak right now, is Funding Mitt Romney's campaign), Haliburton Oil, or BlackHawk Mercenaries.

Please vote a straight Democratic ticket come this November 2012.

My fear...all of the millions and millions of dollars contributed to this campaign and their superpacs by extremely wealthy individuals with questionable ethics and character. Now it appears that their candidate cannot stand the scrutiny and rigors of the campaign trail.

No wonder Karl Rove mentioned mysterious murder and unknown whereabouts. I believe that it is not just Akin that is in deep with this lot. If these same neocons were willing to lie us into war, is it such a leap of faith that they would exact a high price from the candidate that failed to deliver on their expected massive tax breaks and relief from regulation after the thirty pieces of silver have been paid.

How many troops has our "ally" Russia sent to Afghanistan to help?

How about all that support we get from our good "friend" Russia at the UN ... can always count on their vote, huh?

Hey there Feisty: Thought you might want to see what Mormons are "SUPPOSED" to do.......Mitt's magic undies MUST be protecting his rear end that has been on fire for months.

Searched Mormons and Ten Commandments:

"9 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Besides avoiding the fabrication of stories in an effort to get others in trouble or to conceal our own faults, members of the Mormon Church also are taught to avoid gossip and backbiting, which can be very destructive to the speaker, the hearer, and the victim. Even if a person has truly done something wrong, there are times when no comment is needed and other times when the act should be reported to the proper authority-but still not to the neighborhood. The world finds great pleasure in “dirty laundry,” and the news and popular television programs are driven by it. Mormons are taught to be very cautious about engaging in such things."

I can hardly wait to hear Mr. Obama's surprise announcement that his "new" V.P. pick to replace Mr. Biden will be either: Bill Ayers, Anita Dunn, Valerie Jarrett, Chris Matthews, Mrs. Cuttless, Mr. "Deflection" Bixelrod, or Mr. "Man on Five" Emanuel. Of course the announcement will come after his guest speaker, Mr. Bill Clinton who Mr. Obama called a RACIST in the 2008 campaign, speaks randomly and off cuff with emphasis on his wife running for President in 2016.

Yep, the DNC will be nothing more than another "Attack Platform" and Mr. "Delfection" Bixelrod started it off yesterday during an interview.

Because of the many, many millions of americans that have been out of work since the companies they worked for either down sized or folded starting back in 2004, the national suicide rate is at an all time high and proof of this is in reading that 40% of the GOP that watched the Romney speech feel more positive about the republican bullet that is heading their way to put them out of their miseries. It's tough when you're a die hard extremist and have never looked anywhere beyond the R before the candidates name before making your vote.

Well let's see:

58% said Barack Obama’s ’08 speech was excellent or good Result -- Liar & Socialist & Fiscal Disaster
52% said the same of John Kerry’s ’04 speech Result -- Loser but scored higher than his opponent
52% for Bob Dole’s ’96 speech Result -- Loser
51% for Al Gore’s ’00 speech Result -- Loser
51% for George W. Bush’s ’00 speech -- Result -- Winner
49% for Bush’s ’04 speech Result -- Winner but scored lower than his opponent
47% for John McCain’s 08 speech -- Result -- Loser

Not much conclusive here. I find the question interesting -- based on what you read or heard. Why wouldn't a better approach be -- did you see the speech? If yes, how would you rate it?

Relying on third party recounts of a speech is pretty stupid. I also find the numbers among independents (Romney swayed more than lost) and democrats where 9% were more likely to vote for Obama and only 6% of Republicans less likely to vote for Romney. A lack of enthusiasm gap is beginning to show.

Expect the corporate tax rate to dive to much less than the 8% of federal revenues they currently pay in the near future as a growing number of them are no longer hiring employees which means they would have to adhere to federal employment laws. They now force candidates for jobs to sign contracted work hours in the form of private contractors instead thus shirking a majority of the worker protections in place as well as the taxes that go with them. Expect in the near future that states will also require these very same private contractors to be licensed to work and pay their own payroll taxes with no benefits. It's already happening across the nation. Thanks Texas!

he Federal Bailout That Saved Mitt Romney

Government documents prove the candidate's mythology is just that

Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-federal-bailout-that-saved-mitt-romney-20120829#ixzz2542ZJRd2

Mitt Romney likes to say he won't "apologize" for his success in business. But what he never says is "thank you" – to the American people – for the federal bailout of Bain & Company that made so much of his outsize wealth possible.

According to the candidate's mythology, Romney took leave of his duties at the private equity firm Bain Capital in 1990 and rode in on a white horse to lead a swift restructuring of Bain & Company, preventing the collapse of the consulting firm where his career began. When The Boston Globe reported on the rescue at the time of his Senate run against Ted Kennedy, campaign aides spun Romney as the wizard behind a "long-shot miracle," bragging that he had "saved bank depositors all over the country $30 million when he saved Bain & Company."

In fact, government documents on the bailout obtained by Rolling Stone show that the legend crafted by Romney is basically a lie. The federal records, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, reveal that Romney's initial rescue attempt at Bain & Company was actually a disaster – leaving the firm so financially strapped that it had "no value as a going concern." Even worse, the federal bailout ultimately engineered by Romney screwed the FDIC – the bank insurance system backed by taxpayers – out of at least $10 million. And in an added insult, Romney rewarded top executives at Bain with hefty bonuses at the very moment that he was demanding his handout from the feds.

Having been born over 80 years ago and seen the left and right at their best and worst, I wonder how the Right expects to win having promised to destroy all that has kept us a community where both sides used to be Real Americans with a common goal and not crooked Internationalists that send jobs away rather than create any here.

I'm for both Liberals and Conservatives, both endangered spieces. What we have now is a Moderate President and a Republican Party so far Right they are making their last stand or they will disappear.

The fact that NONE of their past other than McCain is on display and he is there on his war record which includes crashing several planes and doing time. Any that go to war for us believing they are doing the right thing are heros and yet we do not give them the care they deserve. In that sense McCain is a prop just like Eastwood.

I also want to be frank about something: I will fight for everyone's right to believe and worship as they choose but that does not mean I'm for a Mormon in the White House any more than a Muslim or a Scientologist. As a matter of fact I would prefer an Atheist that won't bring some silly messages alleged to be from God into the mix.

We need practical people to lead us and keep all the religions out of it since history clearly shows Religions, through their hierarchy, bring more wars and death than any other grouping. Yes, there are very many religious people that do plenty of good but at the top they are all the same, selling franchises to a hereafter no one has ever seen.

What I wouldn't mind seeing is the candidates having to take an Oath that they promise to tell the truth and jail any the commit perjury. That should prune the bunch down to a very few we can trust.

OK, so I'm dreaming and hoping we don't get into the nightmare Romney and his lying side kick plan for us.

Spanky and Kumar... There are only two things I don't like about "Mitt" Romney... His face.

"Corporations are people." The U.S. Supreme Court "Corporations are people, my friend." Willard "Mitt" Romney "Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power."-Benito Mussolini

You people should be careful what you wish for. You may just get it. Get it?

Sorry but, this is my country too and, let me remind you that, this is not a corporation!!!

I used to have my 3 companies under a corporation for legal reasons it keeps idiots and fraudulent cases being brought against you personally.I only made about 45-55k a year which isn't much but they were my companies (I BUILT),now I don't have them after only 1 1/2 years after obama took office I had to lay off my 8 employees as well.I know everybody thinks corporations are bad but the truth is anybody can have a corporation for about $1000 to protect their personal assets from the company,so that when somebody sues the company they can't touch personal assets(car, house etc.).Every American can also take the same tax breaks given it is absolutely legal and is in the tax code why do you think Romney and every other business in the US does it.After 16 years of owning those companies it only took obama 1 1/2 years to dismantle them.Remember in obama's own book he says the US needs to be downgraded to match other countries and he is doing it.Before libs comment and say it was because Bush I lost my companies "NO" libs had control of congress 2 years before he left office and that's when major collapse of companies began and that's why so many jobs were being lost when obama took office.

What are his plans?---Paul Ryan is his Leader, but he will only be a VP if Romney is Elected. There will be silence from Ryan; no President or Vice-President concur on any subject or dire Issues facing a Nation; History tells us so. Mismatches--but anything for a win..

seekingsanity,I voted for obama and am paying for it you assume i'm radical righty you're wrong. It only takes me one time to learn from my mistake. Williams' outspoken antipathy toward Obama hasn't been without consequences:
Last October, the country singer compared the president playing golf with
Speaker of the House John Boehner, an Ohio Republican, to "Hitler playing
golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu," prompting ESPN to pull
Williams' "All My Rowdy Friends" from its Monday Night Football
broadcasts and end a 20-year relationship with the singer.Rolling Stone Magazine.

On ESPN's own website (the people who fired williams,I thought it was abc my mistake) they have a poll anybody can vote on about williams comments.

results,

Yes, williams comments are over the line- 27%

No,there is free speech- 44%

No one cares what williams thinks about politics-25%

Maybe,give williams a chance to apologize-4%

It just shows you that people believe in freedom of speech only 27% had a problem with it.So where are all these complaints you speak of I have searched.

Meanwhile in other news, Oblamo's job approval rating is at an all time low of 45% according to the same Gallup polling entity. Now for you simpleton emotion drive Obama voting left wing hysterics, only one president has been re-elected with a sub-50% approval rating. I'll let you brainiacs figure out which one and the circumstances why.

The DNC Zombiefest in North Carolina this week will be nothing but a slam on Republicans because they know FULL WELL they cannot run on their FAILED RECORD. For those of you who STILL propagate the fallacy that it's all Bush and the GOP's fault....

Remember the day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the House:

At the time:
The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 (without coat tail rider like Obama)
The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
The average price of gas was $2.29
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Bush's policies were reducing the deficit faster than he had promised:
2004 412 billion
2005 318.59 billion
2006 248.57 billion
2007 160.96 billion

Remember the day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 14,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac????

Senator OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???

The HYPOCRITE Senator Obama

And who is continuing the "failed policies that got us unto this mess" by dumping Billions more into Fannie & Freddie and NOT reforming them?

The Narcissist In Chief Obama.

So when the kool-aid crowd blame Bush and the GOP...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007....

I’m always amused when I read the unhinged rhetoric of left-wing zealots, who go ballistic when they think they’ve detected a “Lie” by a Republican. The outrage and condemnation is always deafening. However, those same duped zealots remain strangely silent when their darling Democrat cronies spew blatant lies on an exponentially more frequent basis. Here’s a few examples of the lies mouthed by Barak Obama:

In a speech delivered in Selma, Alabama in 2007, Obama said that because some folks had the courage to “march across a bridge” in Selma, his mother, a white woman from Kansas, and his father, a black Muslim from Africa, took heart. It gave them the courage to get married and have a child (meaning him). (However, Obama’s parents had him in 1961; the Civil Rights marches across that bridge in Selma didn’t occur until 1965). Obama’s speech was reminiscent of Hillary Clinton’s claim to have been named after the first man to climb Mt. Everest (even though she was born nearly six years BEFORE Sir Edmund Hillary climbed that mountain) and John Kerry’s imaginary trip to Cambodia.

In Obama’s book, Dreams From My Father, he wrote “A Life magazine article changed my outlook on life.” (Life magazine has yet to find the article Obama mentioned in his book. The article doesn’t and never did exist)

Obama also told us that “His father served in World War II.” (but his father was only nine years old when the war ended)

And let’s not forget that Obama said, “I won’t run on a national ticket in ’08.” (Obama even admitted on live TV that he didn’t have enough experience at that time, and he constantly touted the importance of experience) Yet he did run and win. Now look at the disaster his own lie and admitted lack of experience has caused!

As an Illinois Senator, Obama said, “I wrote a tough Nuclear Bill.” (but Obama’s bill was rejected by his own party for its pandering and lack of substantive regulation – mainly because of his Nuclear Donor, Exelon, from which Obama’s buddy, David Axelrod, came)

Here’s another of Obama’s misleading statements: “I passed 26 bills in one year.” (but those were NOT Obama’s bills; instead, they were handed to him after their creation by fellow Democrat, Illinois Senate President Emil Jones, to assist Obama in his bid for higher office)

How about this lie: “I don’t take PAC money.” (He’s taken truck loads of it)

And do you believe this one: “Wal-Mart is a company I wouldn’t support.” (even though Michelle Obama received nearly a quarter of a million dollars through Treehouse, which is connected to Wal-Mart)

In 2008, Barack Obama said, “Guantanamo Bay will be closed within a year.” (yet it’s still open and fully operational)

Then in February 2009, Barak Obama “VOWED to reduce the deficit by 50% by the end of his first term in office.” (Instead, the deficit has exploded under Obama. It accelerated $4.939 trillion in only 3 ½ YEARS since Obama became president, and it’s still rising)

In early 2010, Mr. Obama claimed that the border fence is “basically complete.” (but only if you consider 5% as “basically complete”)

Obama even bellowed that he would have “the most transparent administration in history.” (insert laugh track here) (that lie is so comical that it needs no rebuttal…common knowledge doesn’t require documentation)

An Obama critic (who is a black man) once mused, “We need to ask some very serious questions about Barak Obama. It’s not enough to be black, it’s not enough to be articulate, and it’s not enough to be eloquent and a media darling. The only question will be how deaf an ear, or how blind an eye, will people turn in order to turn a frog into a prince?”

RealAmericansFirst:

YOU WROTE: “60% of American corporations pay no taxes.”

MY RESPONSE: You conveniently forgot to mention that one of the largest corporations paying no taxes is General Electric, whose CEO is Jeffrey Immelt, one of Barak Obama’s close friends. In fact, Barak Obama appointed Jeffrey Immelt to head Obama’s highly touted Jobs Council. And while GE pays no taxes, Mr. Immelt is moving more of GE’s infrastructure to China. I wonder why Mr. Immelt and GE’s behavior doesn’t bother Barak Obama (or maybe even you?)? Could there be a double standard at work here?

Hmmmm - Willard, or Odumbo? Which childish name makes a poster look more stupider-er.

Decisions, decisions......

I'm going to go w/ *Odumbo* making a poster look *stupider-er*....simply b/c *Willard* really is Romney's 1st name!

Well, he says it is. We haven't seen his long-form birth certificate yet to verify that. Or that he wasn't born in Mexico. Or that his parents, who emigrated to the US from Mexico, were American citizens. Or that his mother was his father's only wife, seeing as his grandfather renounced his US citizenship to run off to Mexico where he could practice polygamy w/ multiple wives w/o getting arrested. Or that Willard wasn't their *anchor baby*.

If Obama had a background like that, the birther contingent would be having brain hemorrhages over it. Romney? Not a peep. Hmmm.

Hillary Clinton’s claim to have been named after the first man to climb Mt. Everest (even though she was born nearly six years BEFORE Sir Edmund Hillary climbed that mountain)

Yeah, so, did Sir Edmund Hillary accomplish his feat when he was 5? He was already alive & already famous when Hillary was born. Total non-pt.

As for the rest of the pts....you do realize Obama had no way of knowing that key Republicans, incl Paul Ryan, banded together after the election & vowed to be as obstructive as they could in order to make him a one-term president....right?

Obamas' statements weren't *misleading*. Those Republicans misled.

Jhawke.

Yes, and they don't know that. In fact, they don't care. It's the truth and people don't want to hear it. Especially when they are wrong and they know it. Tell a Obamaholic about the mess which the Dems brought to this country and they just tune it out cause they are too busy jizzing in their pants or their panties when the 'great one' opens up his mouth to make another old, tired, and monotonous speech.

It's the same speeches he made 4 yrs ago only some of the wording has changed. But the topics are the same. It's 'campaign' time and Obama is great at that. He's a pro at that. Hell, the man campaigned for the presidency and won it unanimously back in 2008. Took over the Oval Office AS president and has been campaigning the entire time he was the president. NOW, it's campaign time once again and well, guess what? He's in full 'campaign mode' once again.

What has he done regarding the Gulf States? You see what happened down in the Gulf States regarding Hurricane Isaac . Why hasn't he made an appearance to see what he can do for the people down there or at least show he cares about them? Oh, OK...he supposedly went today to see the damage.

The damage was done Wednesday NIGHT early Thursday. Instead of taking time off from 'campaigning' why didn't he go on Friday or Saturday to show his support? Noooooo, campaigning is more important to our 'president'. To hell with the people in the Gulf States, they can wait for him.

Something is wrong with this man's convictions. He ignores the most important things. Common sense would dictate that. Oh, but let's vote for Obama for a 2nd term. Lord knows he has don't enough damage in the first so let's make sure he finishes us off during the second term. Then everyone can be happy.

Of course this was all under the direction of the Bush adminstration of Henry Paulsen, the Secretary of the Treasury, which Timothy Geithner now holds.

    PIPPO,

After 80 years on this earth, I should think that you had developed some common sense. But common sense doesn't exist in the left wing dictionary. If you believe that Obama is a moderate, you haven't been out of your house the last four years. I was born and raised under a socialist government and that is exactly what we are experiencing right now. If Obama gets reelected, I guaranty you, this country will never recover from its debt. Your welfare checks and social security checks will stop coming in ten years or so, because interest payments on our debt will exceed our income. You people on the left are going to be in the same boat as the people on the right. It's easy to make stupid comments but the reality is going to hit you right between the eyes in the coming years.

Americans are extremely unhappy with the Republicans bad behavior, lies, contempt of women with the Dark Ages attitudes of legalizing rape, men (not doctors) dictating the womens' healthcare, and greedy benefits/exemptions sternly fought for the wealthy elite. First off I'm not sure about your facts but the issue is, do you expect the president to use the power of govenment as a dictator and force the end of outsourcing? You know, should mommy government be what you on the Right want or is it what you don't want? As to everything you say and imply, any president is fairly well limited to making war with little restraint and that is a recent thing in our history.

The point is that the power lies in Congress and what do we find there??? We find that the Right is deliberately going against everything Obama tries to do including implimentation of stuff Republicans had previously said they wanted until Obama agrees with them then they will do whatever it takes to thwart any effort the president makes on our behalf.

If you were to say that your goal is to make Obama a one term president because you don't like him for any reason, I can dig that. It's your opinion. But, all the bull@!$%# about who actually creats jobs or controls the price of oil and all the other trash you guys lay on the Negro in the White House as a fault, even as he has only Veto Power that can change some things.

Willard ain't physically gone yet. He is presently somewhere hunkered down along the base of a hill on the road to nowhere. All republicans know that road well, and will presently go get Him, and drag Him back. He'll do this often with His strategy of running out the clock. Poor sum-bitch, like most republicans, doesn't grasp the meaning of measuring time on a clock that runs backwards.

Where are your tax returns Willard? How did you finagle stealing bailout money Willard? How many Companies are your Bain capital operating in the Caymans Willard? Are you the "Mormon" equivalency of "Bernie Madoff" Willard? You are a liar and a thief Willard.

A new Gallup poll shows that 38% of national adults rated Mitt Romney’s convention speech as either excellent or good -- that's the lowest percentage since Gallup began tracking this question in 1996.

        And then there is:

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has launched an investigation into whether some large private equity firms—among them Bain Capital, the firm founded by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney—took advantage of a tax loophole to avoid paying hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes.

According to the New York Times, who first reported the story, executives with knowledge of the investigation said Schneiderman had subpoenaed around a dozen firms in the past few weeks seeking any documents that could shed light on their tax-writing procedures. At issue is whether those firms used a shady, legally-dubious practice of labeling certain fees as investments, thus allowing them to be taxed at a far lower rate to produce huge savings over the long run.

        www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/09/02/new-york-ag-investigating-bain-capital-other-firms-for-tax-evasion/

I expect he is huddled up with his lawyers.

Oh and the Gov kinda sucks at this investigation thing-y. Just ask Sheriff Arpiaio.

        Nice story.

Doesn't mention what years they're looking at for possible tax dodging.

And the lawyer heading up the charge is Obama's appointee for investigating the recession’s mortgage crisis.

So come on and explain just what it is they are supposedly investigating, cause it can't be the use of legal loopholes, and it was not Bain that wrote the tax policies.

If they would make the big guys pay something we could make a dent in the deficit and get back on track. All I want is to not raise our taxes, get some money from the rich and pay down the defficit. If they would be more responsible and cut the waste...watch how they spend hey, we could all benefit. Both sides scare me. Romney is not that much different than Obama, but he is a man that accomplishes things, rather than a great speech maker.

If 2010 was any indication, America is ready for a person who gets things done, rather than a person who whines, complains, and makes outlandish claims (pass the stimulus and by 2012 unemployment will be 5.7% as 1 of 100's of examples) that he did not accomplish.

From laughing at the "shovel ready jobs that weren't so shovel ready" to lying about Obamacare and the monstrous government bureaucracy that is being created along with the myriad of new taxes, to golfing 4 working months during the biggest economic downturn in 70 years to blaming EVERYONE but himself for his large and varied failures, Obama simply is not a leader. He is a great speech maker, so no doubt he will get high marks again this convention.

So if you want a speech maker who does not accomplish much, and blames everyone else, vote for Obama.

If you want a guy who isn't a good speech maker, comes off a little cold, and has a successful track record of working with the opposing party and accomplishing big things, and a guy who understands our economic engine, world trade, and how to negotiate, vote for Mitt.

Personally, I wish Gary Johnson had gained some traction, and I guess there's still time, but the Libertarians have not yet figured out how to make headway on the national scene.

I'm surprised Robme"s "speech" polled even in the 30's! They had to spend so much time"humanizing" the guy, they quickly ran out of things to say! Here's the thing about Robme, he belongs to a church that believes in a planet called Kolob and thinks that sacred underwear protects them. That right there is enough for me not to vote or even like the man. Oh, but that is just the beginnning of the craziness. He really believes that the United States government can be run like a business. Herbert Hoover thought the same thing. NEVER in the history of this country has such a notion been proved to be successful! The government was not set up to be run like a business and guess what folks.......it doesn't! "We, the people" are included in the day to day affairs of the country to make sure it would not be run like a business. Not to say that some entities have not taken a run at it. When you see things like $18.00 hammers and such, that is some fool or group of fools trying to run the country like a business, a bad one to be sure. Robme has no problem with gutting social safety nets and the affordable healthcare act because he has no point of reference regarding these issues to go with. Robme's money was given to him by his daddy and the rest he made by firing people. He wants people to think that he has all the answers for job creation. Robme's experience is in wealth attainment. I have no problem whatsoever with that and he should just call a thing what it is but he would rather misrepresent. And besides job creation is the least of it, so much else is needed in a president that Robme just doesn't bring to the table. Mostly, the man cannot connect with the average person. Now, he wants me to believe he gets some of his shirts from Costco. If Costco ever came into his thought processes at all prior to his "humanizing" campaign, it would have only been in the formation of how he could takeover the company and fire workers thus transferring the savings to his own coffers. Being the president requires more than that, however and I'm not will to bet on a man who's getting his marching orders from a non-existent planet or an urgent phone call from his underwear! Lastly, he picked Raul Ruin as his robbing mate and.....when Robme smiles......he creeps me right the heck out!

Romney's speech was great! He is such an honorable man and Ryan rates right up there with him. At least we know Romney loves America unlike that card toting communist/muslim we now have in the White House. God help America if that turd get's re-elected.

People I know in Europe are laughing at us 'dumb' Americans....it seems they all know we have a Muslim/Socialist in the White House and half the population here in America have blinders on.

Stupid, stupid, Hussein Obama supporters. Take the blinders off already. All you need to do is look at his past. He hung around with radicals dummies!!! Do you think the ideology missed him? His loon radical commie mommy, who dumped him off with her parents to raise and his absentee polygamist daddy was a commie and nowhere to be found in the raising of Hussein. No wonder Obama is a pathological liar. God.......look at his familial heritage. Really screwed up if I say so myself and this piece of $...t is our president. Unlike Romney's typical American upbringing. A fine man. One who uses his own money to help the needy whereas Hussein wants to 'spread the wealth' by taking our money to give to freeloaders. Did you know Castro said he wanted 'to spread the wealth'? That didn't work out very well for the Cuban people by the way. Did you also know that the infrastructure 'jobs' Hussein is creating has been given to the Chinese? Check out Diane Sawyers show on it. And WHERE are Hussein's college records?? What is he hiding?? He has paid millions to keep them closed. Who is paying for that by the way? Maybe he doesn't want us to find out that he was a foreign student who got his education on the taxpayers dime. Come on Hussein!!! Release those college records!

Aside from the lies, especially in Paul Ryan's speech, as well as snark in Romney's speech, the Epic Fail of once again being void of substance and details, these poll results are not surprising. Also, as I've mentioned before, Romney's delivery style is a turn off -- more annoying than the hyperventilation is the way he cocks his head like a puppy dog after he says something he thinks is profound.

As a side note, what's with Nikki Haley and talking like she is gritting her teeth? In the not too distant past, establishment Republicans were...more normal. The GOP needs to get it together.

Our President is a muslim communist, he's just waiting for the right moment to take your guns away, declare martial and sharia law. Right.

Your party must be proud to have you.

I love how Mitt said he would focus on jobs. Hey, didn't we hear that from the Republicans in 2010? What did that get us, certainly not jobs legislation. Dirty bills that tried to kill Obama Care, Planned Parenthood, the EPA, Dept of Education but not jobs. They refused to send clean bills to the Senate but cry when they get ignored. Gee, I wonder why.

So Mitt, you'll have to understand if when I heard you say you would be focusing on jobs I changed the channel. Just more unbelievable BS from the BS party.

What's sad about the GOP is: they wanted, they HOPED that Ryan would give Romney a boost. Romney alone isn't enough, and they know it. When you have THAT awareness about your candidate, that he needs the VP to carry him over the top -- then you've picked the wrong guy.

Sadly, for them, Ryan is as much a soggy noodle as Romney is.

If he is reelected, our liberty, and the hope of the resurgeance of our Beloved Constitution is going to forever disappear. Nobama has done absolutely nothing in the past years and has plans for us. Plans? Does Stalin, Hitler, and Lincoln ring a bell at all to you? Research what I have said before you give an answer. I will not argue though. I've done my homework before I speak. May god Bless America!!!

Republicans, Republicans, oh Republicans, how in the hay did you come up with 2 such dudes (a buffoonish clown, who steals from the working poor and middle class, and an extremest radical liar, who wants to terminate all the Medicare, Medicaid, and SS benefits that people have paid into) ?? Are they the best you can get?? Go back home , and reform your Party from a lying, disillusion, manipulative, dishonest, etc., etc., to something that you can be proud of with values such as: HONESTY, INTEGRITY, and a true WILLINGNESS TO WORK WITH THE GOVERNMENT, and TO WORK for ALL THE CONSTITUENTS (not just the upper 2%).

Americans are extremely unhappy with the Republicans bad behavior, lies, contempt of women with the Dark Ages attitudes of legalizing rape, men (not doctors) dictating the womens' healthcare, and greedy benefits/exemptions sternly fought for the wealthy elite. Show the Republicans that we the hard working people have and hold more values for the good of this Country than they have shown for a very long, long time now.

Listen to these 2 articles on youtube: "When Mitt Romney Came to Town" with creative destruction.

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ad_E8VXm4m0&feature=player_embedded

"So he leverages the faltering business in order to get loans that he uses to buy stock in Bain Capital, effectively sucking the lifeblood from the acquisition. Then he lets the leveraged business go bankrupt. Then what? The FDIC gives an insurance payout to the banks that loaned Bain the money? Well, where does the FDIC get the money to insure banks? You guessed it--the American people. If this propaganda is true, Mitt is guilty of massive fraud."

Now for a further explanation: The loans were to the company not Bain. First, Bain gains controlling interest in the company, so Bain can basically make all of the executive decisions. Then it gets the company to borrow money under the guise of helping it out of its immediate cash flow issues so "it (the victim company) can GROW its way out of trouble." Once in control and the company has borrowed all that money, Bain collects huge fees for its services and piles that money away, now completely separate from the company. At the same time, Bain gets the victim company to buy back any stock Bain may have had to purchase to get control, which then severs Bain's relationship just before the victim company falls into default on the loans.

Finally, based on the specific circumstances, the FDIC might have to cover some of the losses. But this depends on the loan sources and whether the losses would or do cause the bank(s) to fail.

Also be sure to see Romney's interview clip from this morning, where he says if you question Wall Street fairness, you're just envious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fdj_7P2Do5M

Now, ask yourself is he really a man of honorable substance for all people???? Is this the type of person we want and need for the U.S.??

              An Independent Thinker:

Don't you remember what happened during the Solyndra Scandal caused by President Obama. How the investigation came to a close because the chief investigator of the scandal donated money to Obama's re-election campaign? Don't bring Bain Capital into this when your own President somehow misplaced billions of dollars of tax payer money.

The banking executive who led the “independent” probe that absolved the Obama Administration for blowing billions of taxpayer dollars on failed green-energy ventures has donated big bucks to the president’s reelection campaign.

This certainly raises doubts about the integrity of the investigation, which centered on nearly $3 billion in loans that the Obama Department of Energy (DOE) doled out for experimental alternative energy projects. Among them was a fly-by-night California company (Solyndra)—bankrolled by Obama fundraiser George Kaiser—that swallowed more than half a billion dollars before going bankrupt.

Earlier this year a federal audit confirmed that “serious concerns” expressed by U.S. Treasury officials involving the risky $535 million Solyndra infusion were ignored as the deal was fast-tracked by top White House officials. Judicial Watch has sued the DOE to obtain records regarding the Solyndra loan because the administration has blown off a public records request that dates back to early September, 2011.

Incredibly, the in-depth investigation that we now know was conducted by Obama’s donor found no wrongdoing on the part of the administration. The donor/watchdog scandal was uncovered this week by a mainstream media outlet, which in and of itself is incredible considering the love fest that exists between the MSM and the commander-in-chief. Puff pieces dominate coverage of the administration—in major newspapers as well as television networks—so this is a rare treat.

It turns out that the veteran Wall Street executive (Herbert Allison) handpicked by the administration to investigate its disastrous green energy loan losses contributed $52,000 to re-elect Obama in the months after he completed the in-depth probe. It’s all documented in federal campaign records reviewed by the national wire service that broke the story. The cash started pouring in just two weeks after Allison testified before Congress about his report, which exonerated the administration and was heavily touted by the White House.

It started with a $2,500 donation to the Obama campaign in late March, the story reveals. In May he plopped down another $15,000 for the Obama Victory Fund, a joint group that supports the president’s reelection and the Democratic National Committee. In the following two months, Allison generously deposited another $40,000 into the coffers of the Obama/DNC account. In the news story he defends the integrity of his probe and assures he did not make the decision to back a presidential candidate until after his work was finished.

I wonder if Dottles was asking the same questions when Mittwitt tried to rig the NAACP crowd by flying in his own black supporters?

"Romney also claimed that he got a standing ovation at the end of his speech.

Many of Romney’s claims were debunked by Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Policy and the Director of the Washington Bureau of the NAACP, Hilary Shelton who said that the only African Americans Romney met with after his speech were those that he brought with him. Mr. Shelton explained that Mitt Romney flew in his own African-American supporters who were not affiliated with the NAACP, in order to have some people in the crowd cheering for him."

We should have access to all important information about you. Your wife telling the American people you're a good guy, doesn't work.

Did Dotties Girl read the schedule? Probably not - reading is so hard - However little girl the Democratic Convention is starting with a party - yes maam a party where all citizens are welcome - and I guess since we poor folk don't have Cayman Island Flags to ferry these people here plus we're inland - busses were hired to bring people to our party

Got it - now go find another thing to gripe about - it's what you do

During the last four years, there have been thousands and thousands of posts about Obama, saying he made great speeches because he had a teleprompter. Apparently, Romney can't even do that.

the teleprompter schtick is about as worn out as a set of old bias ply tires. Everyone who gives a professionally prepared speech uses one. Hell, the regional VP of the company I work for uses one.

JFK was the first president to use a teleprompter.

Teleprompters have been used by every president since.

But somehow it's still unacceptable to the goosesteppers that Obama uses one.

Apparently they prefer speakers to write notes on their hands a la Palin.

                    " ... Conservatives embrace the 2nd Amendment ... "

That must be because some one told them what it said. Because they sure as hell haven't read it themselves. If they had, they would know that it doesn't say what they say/think it does.

                    But then maybe not.

Oh, and I embrace the 2nd Amendment, and I'm a God Damned Liberal. The only difference is I know what it says.

" ... A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, ... "

And from the Declaration of Independence, the meaning of the word "State" ....

" ... and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain ..."

So all of you Right wing people with your Bible and your guns. Step right up, your "State" needs you. There is a war going on. It's time to step up and defend it. With you Constitutionally granted right to keep and bear arms.

And you have nothing to say other than taxes should be raised on the wealthy. So? But the truth is what you are saying is Romney has nothing to say but that people who earned their money should be allowed to keep it no matter how much they make.

And YOU believe the government should be allowed steal the money that people have earned based on a purely arbitrary income range that COULD VERY EASILY BE SET AT 70K. It's set at 250k just to scam people like you into supporting the concept of the government having the power to set the income level of it's citizens and THEN move on to WHATEVER amount is legislated by the whims of the legislature. WHAT A TOOL YOU ARE!

Please don't insult our founding fathers by implying that they would even recognize the current state of this country. They have all certainly rolled over in their graves at the corruption and greed that is running this country. Both parties are at fault! They have been pointing fingers and mud slinging for so long they don't even remember what their jobs are! When November comes a decision will be made to either stay on this same path and drive the train over the cliff or get off the track and try something else. Wishing both good luck. Now I would suggest that we all turn off our devices and go outside and play cause this forum has turned into a huge crock!

The Boston Tea party was a political protest against the tax policy of the British government. People were upset and acted out by dumping the tea in the harbor. Well I am not a tea party person but I am upset with REPUBLICANS THE PARTY OF NO. People arn't back to work because of the House Republicans. Romney and Ryan want to cut taxes on the rich, don't that make you mad? They want to go to vouchers for Medicare, and when they run out sorry about your luck, don't that make you mad? They want to privitize social security, yea like lets put our social security in the stock market or something, do you feel safe about that? Do you people on Social Security and Medicare really feel that you will not be affected if Romney and Ryan get elected after all the changing of positions they have taken? And now the Republicans want you to voter Identification or you can't even vote. My uncle gave up his drivers license years ago and because he was born with a mid wife he never had a birth certificate. Good luck trying to get a photo ID with homeland security laws.

I am voting straight Democratic ticket to move this country forward and to prevent the party of NO (Republicans) from continuing the gridlock.

So what you are saying is that paying at a 50% rate is not high enough? Would YOU be willing to pay 50% to support the Liberal sponges that expect the rest of the world to support their lazy butts? I don't it...

What you're doing by cutting tax rates for the wealthy and corporations is putting the burden of building America's roads, sanitation systems, schools, public buildings and parks on the poor and middle class.

What the GOP says is that the working class has to hire all the teachers, firefighters, police, food inspectors, park staff, transit workers, etc. etc. etc.

The working class is already carrying 36% of the burden just through their payroll taxes, while millionaires and investment leeches like Mr. Romney pay NOTHING.

60% of American corporations pay no taxes, and they only contribute a total of 8% to federal revenues now. 8%!!

                              Pay up, leeches.

We could cut the tax rate for everyone & still invest in America if we weren't spending a trillion dollars a year on arms dealers. But the repukes only want to increase war spending since they make money off killing Americans and don't have to have their kids do the fighting.

Wrong. The poor and middle class pay less in taxes. When you include tax credits that the poor get back they actually pay nothing. The rich pay more in not only percentage but also actual dollar amounts (3rd grade math).

"What the GOP says is that the working class has to hire all the teachers, firefighters, police, food inspectors, park staff, transit workers, etc. etc. etc."

No the GOP is saying that high income earners already pay a higher percentage than everybody else so it is not fair to raise their taxes even more.

"The working class is already carrying 36% of the burden just through their payroll taxes, while millionaires and investment leeches like Mr. Romney pay NOTHING."

I have already established that higher income earners pay a higher percentage. Why shouldn't the working class have to pay a percentage of the burden (the burden to you being paying teachers, firefighters, building roads, etc.)?

"60% of American corporations pay no taxes, and they only contribute a total of 8% to federal revenues now. 8%!!"

You must not understand what a corporation is? Any business can be setup as a corporation not just fortune 500 companies. Yes even Bob and June down at your local farmers market may indeed be a corporation. Many more start up companies fail in their first 2-4 years than succeed. When a business does not make a profit it does not pay taxes.

As for large corporations: www.mint.com/blog/trends/how-much-do-americas-big-corporations-102011/ You can see that most pay their fair share and some more than their fair share IMO.

I have already established that higher income earners pay a higher percentage.

That's not true, generally speaking. For example, Mr Romney paid about 14% in 2010, which is the same rate for someone making up to $70,700 adjusted gross income.

Most truly wealthy people earn the bulk of their income from capital gains and dividends, which are taxed at a much lower rate, i.e. 15%.

So higher income earners do not necessarily pay higher percentage, once you get into the serious money.

A single 22 year old with no dependents, making $12 an hour (40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year), will pay $1896 in income tax and $1872 in payroll tax for a take-home pay of $21192. Their federal tax burden will be roughly 15%.

Discounting state and local taxes which are fairly regressive, the person making $12 an hour pays a larger percentage of their income in taxes than Willard 'Mitt' Romney does.

The people I don't get are the folks with ordinary income of over $250k. Someone making $250k a year (assuming you get rid of the deductions Willard 'Mitt' Romney suggests he wants to get rid of, but don't decrease the tax rate) would pay $74582 in combined federal tax for a 30% rate (twice Willard 'Mitt' Romney's rate) Assuming the tax brackets stay in the same place, but that the marginal rates are decreased by 20%, this person will still pay $64192 in taxes.

Under the current system, someone making $250000 with 2 children, a reasonable mortgage on a reasonable house (~$400000) and who does not donate a cent to charity, would pay about $66015k a year in combined federal taxes.

So great, under Willard 'Mitt' Romney's plan, upper income working folk save $2000 on their taxes, and Willard 'Mitt' Romney has his tax rate cut to zero.

                                    Tax weary,

What is your tax rate after all? This is anonymous, so you can just tell us. I earned $___— and paid ____% in Federal Income taxes. That way all of us can tell whether you are 1) telling the truth, and 2) should be "tax weary" at all.

Before you say "only when you do..."

here you go: I had a banner year last year, made $238K and piad $45K in Federal income taxes. That's about 19%.

Now, does it seem right that a real small business owner, a real job creator, making $238K should pay a higher rate than someone (named Mitt) who made $20 Million? So yes, I'm nearly a 1%-er and I think the wealthy should be OK paying 3% more.

"Romulian Rommey" gave a speech that was so "Alien" to 99% America! He looked unrelatable, stiff, and very unfriendly to many. The GOP/RNC "Speculator and Chief" gave no specifics about his economic policy, his tax policy, his Jobs Policy, his Foreign Policy, and his policies regarding social/cultural issue. It is simple America! The "Romulian" has the same tax and economic policies of "Richie Rich" Ryan, and the Tea Beggers in the GOP/RNC "House Of Hoodlum's." The "Romulian" has the very same social/cultural as "Richie Rich" Ryan, and the "Speculator and Chief" has none of his own. The GOP/RNC "Speculator and Chief" likes to hide in his Quiet Room with his fellow "Bain Trained" Speculators. The GOP/RNC "Speculator and Chief" has NO concept of the truth, and "Richie Rich" Ryan takes lying to a new poltical high. That is fact!

What could Romney say? Obams's health plan is patterned after Romney's.

Romney is going to cut taxes on the rich. He is going to kill the middle class. What is he going to do, bring back the manufacturing jobs he sent out of this country? Oh that is right he and all his wealthy friends want to bring back all their wealth and not pay taxes on it. He will privitize social security and go to vouchers for medicare. And he says, JUST TRUST ME, WE DONT NEED TO KNOW HOW HE IS GOING TO FIX THE ECONOMY.WE JUST NEED TO TRUST HIM.

The Republicans were pompous and arrogant and used a lot of "I's". The Democrats need to make a nice big video of that "empty" chair. It is empty for father or mother who died in Afghanistan or Iraq; it is empty for those children who will never know their father or mother; it is empty for the thousands of teachers across this country who are laid off in Repubiican-controlled states, imperiling the education and future of our children and our progress; it is empty for the unions which will be decimated under the GOP, leaving middle class America without pensions, healthcare, or decent working conditions; it is empty for the selfishness of MItch McConnell and Paul Ryan, who promised that their number one goal was to take back power, regardless of who they hurt; it is empty for the assault on our right to vote and elect our officials, a basic right for which millions have fought and died; and finally, it is empty for the civil rights that the black people of this country fought for so long for which the Republicans now would nullify with their bigotry and hatred of those of another color or religion.

If Obama has some intelligent adviser (somewhat doubtful with the stupid attack strategy they often use).........they could learn a lot from your questions about what REAL people would like to hear from that chair. Obama should STOP shouting and projecting noise and start talking common sense as is in your post.

He is lowering taxes yeah and shifting more burdens on the states. When asked about something he will say I believe that should be up to the states to decide and handle. He says he wants to reduce government but hey Mitty it really doesn't matter state or fed they're both government. What a cop out. They want to make huge cuts in agriculture and education, restructure medicare and social security. All hard working middle class areas. He will overhaul medicaid. Please Mitty tell us what the wealthy are going to sacrifice to balance the budget, oh yeah they are getting a tax cut, and that helps exactly how? Must be a lot of ignorant middle class that thinks this is the way to go. They are doing a lot of taking away like planned parenthood which forces women to go to a high priced doc for their yearly exams and making the seniors pay more for their healthcare and still ignorant people are saying yeah, really? He doesn't give flying fig for anyone except his rich cronies.

Do you realize the Government is too big and expensive too maintain? Do you get that? What is the logical move when you have something out of scale, you trim it back, you reduce it, especially if you can no longer manage it, right? Do your realize the size of our debt? It cannot continue to grow at this current pace, as a Country we cannot sustain this growth.

Programs have to be cut or scaled back. In the process you're going to anger someone, you can't be all things to all people, there has to be some pain. The Republicans and Tea Party constituents know the unpopular steps that must be taken to avoid disaster but many resist this path and side with a President who believes that throwing money at the problem will solve the dilemma.

The fact that President Obama is such a like able person, and is willing to bailout everyone in need makes him a formidable foe to overcome. Mitt Romney knows what needs to be done but no one wants to hear it. The Dems have portrayed him as a greedy rich guy only out for himself and other rich people, but that is so far from the truth. Understand, the man already has everything, he doesn't have a need for anything else. He can leave the public scene and live out his days with his family and say to hell with country, let it crash and burn, he has enough money to escape it all if he wanted to; but he doesn't, if you know his personal history in helping others, you'd know he would never do that.

You people are unfairly criticizing him because he has wealth. He has been successful throughout his career, and if you knew anything about business, you would applaud his Bain Capital days instead of belittle them.

Did you know: That GM actually went bankrupt. Do you know that the Government owns 31% of the stock, down from 61% from the original deal. GM has paid back some of the funds that it did not use from the bailout, but not from new earnings. Did you know the original amount of the bailout was $49.5 Billion, and GM still owes 25 billion. Did you know that GM has plants in China. That China has surpassed the US on the amount of cars it sells, it now has the largest market in the world and your tax dollars are supporting car sales in China. Do you realize this is out sourcing, the same criticism you have for Mitt Romney and Bain.

Did you realize that when the Government bailed out GM, the Union Workers made NO CONCESSIONS. NO cut in pay or Union benefits, but their Non-Union counterparts made concessions.

The Bank bailout had it flaws as well, with the CEO's taking huge bonuses after receiving the funds.

Get a clue people. You can't just throw tax payer money around like this administration has and financially survive. Supporting the policies of this President because YOU LIKE HIM is not a good enough reason, you will be committing financial suicide. Pick the other guy, the one you hate, the one with all the financial experience and successful track record. The country needs his expertise and we need it now.

Barack Hussein Obama ll is not an American, but an Islamic socialist. Born from a Communist mother and socialist father. Raised in Indonesia by his step-father Lolo Soetoro, then later, sent to Hawaii to live with his Communist grandparents. There, Barry Soetoro (only 10 yrs. old) was mentored by a known Communist, Frank Marshall Davis and Barry’s grandparents, until he graduated from high school.

Barry entered Occidental College as Barry Soetoro, an exchange student from Indonesia. Two years later, he enrolled @ Columbia University where Obama networks with Marxist professors/followers, black radicals and Pakistani students.

After graduating from Harvard Law School, Obama meets Bill Ayers, known terrorist and co-founder of the Underground Weather. Obama is inspired by Ayers to run for public office and is supported by the “New Party”, an organization that was originally called the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

Barack Obama’s 20 yr. association with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright had left Obama with many political scars and enhanced Obama’s desire for social order in government.

Today, Barack Obama still claims his devotion to Islam, while mocking Christianity. President Barack Obama plans to cut military spending in half, eliminating 80% of our defense weapons, including nuclear weapons and make the US dependent of energy, especially from petroleum oil. The economy is sliding back into recession, with a good chance to hit rock bottom. If this happens, the free world, as we know it, will be devastated. It will be then when the Islamic nations take over, with the help of Russia, ending democracy.

There is a dark side of Barack Obama that separates his ideals from those who live and believe in “We the People………….”. Form your own opinion, if you like, but mine rests heavily on the future of our great nation.

                                      May God bless America.

Actually it's you who ignore the lies of your party who look at polls, All I've seen in comments here is "look how close the polls are" from your side. The polls mean nothing, PPP, Rasmusen and gallup are all right leaning and they affect the overall polls. It's electoral votes that count and as of now Obama only need 49 more to win and it's been that way for weeks. The current electoral map with no swings states won't show any surprises come Nov, however what will be a surprise to you will be that Obama will win Virginia, Wisconsin(as even Ryan supporters are even disillusioned by him and his lies), Ohio and the biggest shock will be florida.

Michael Savage?? Really?? You might as well quote Rush or Karl Rove. Funny how Clint Eastwood is a social liberal and called the unemployment in this country a national disaster. Clint knows the Tea Party and Republican obstructionists are behind the slow economic recovery. Too bad most "conservatives" refuse to see it also.

                                      Romney:

"First of all,....I'm going to remove taxation totally from all rich people."

"Next, I'm going to make all Union membership illegal so you can't improve your wages and benefits. Anyone talking Union will be jailed or executed."

"After that I'm going to eradicate all social safety net programs so there is no security."

"Then I'm going to attack Iran and conscript poor kids of color to die in the next Republican war; my kids, of course,......will not be subject to the draft......they're future "job creators".

"We will swing open the doors of the U.S. Treasury again to the defense firms. Just take what you want and leave a hefty campaign contribution while yer' at it." **winks**

"Next I will nominate Supreme Court judges who are to the right of John Birch and Ayn Rand."

"Companies can continue to get tax breaks for shipping American jobs overseas. In fact,....I'll give them even bigger tax breaks."

"ObamaCare? Gone!! In its place is mandatory health insurance policies starting at only $10,000 / year per person."

"Vulture / Bain capital will become the prevailing business model for America."

"Middle class children will be sold for medical experiments and used as organ donors for sick Republicans."

If he's exhausted from one ridiculous speech he gave and from waving too much then he needs to get out of the kitchen...the presidency requires a first rate performance 24/7 for 4 years. The speech was a non starter...platitudes on going backwards to "better days" ....yes the better days that got us here....he was talking to his base...the extreme wealthy and all the other misguided tag-a-longs who think trickle down works. The speech lacked any knowledge of ingenuity and ideas that are up to this century. Same old, same old...and, of course, peppered with all the lies. And Ryan's speech was embarrassing....attack dog with no teeth! More lies...but he lies about everything...even his marathon time...what a hack.

Here comes the DNC convention to debunk the GOP campaign lies, expose the truth about the Obama record and offer actual policy details to move forward instead of the GOP's wreckless austerity plan in a recovering economy.

True, and besides, wood doesn't bounce. ;-)

Well, that's half right. I think he's going to continue to put them in place, and with any luck he'll have a more cooperative Congress to help this time.

Awesome list of what Republicans don't like...and sadly, the list is absolutely true. They are anti-anything/everything except domination of the world with our military...all the budget directed to defense spending...and no taxes or responsibility for the very, very wealthy.

BO, is Right the smell of his post is offenceive. You Really don't understand Republicans at all from your list. We do belive in the United States, that is governed by the Constitution. The differance is we go by the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, Liberials don't. Republicans Love All People, we do not break them in to little social, ethnic, or religious groups to pit them against each other, as Liberials do. I had to laugh at your "Preservation of Life" I guess that is for the word only as you want Abortians, that is anti-preservation of human life. But if it is a fish or lizard, then yes you would kill people to save one. You say (which I don't believe) you are for competition, but you don't want it, You don't want privite, and public schools to compete, you don't want earth source energy to compete with Green energy (which is laughable in itself, since Battery power cars use more dangerous chemicals then gas powered, That goes for Light bulbs too, you want CFL bulbs, that have Mercury, but not the old incandencent ones that are not harmful if dropped. You want Choice, but only for women getting free birthcontrol paid by someone else. You don't want Choice for parient for schools, joining Unions, retirement plans, and other things. You want free speach, but only for liberials, you come down on consertives that voice different openions in Colleges, Government, etc. You want Social Security, but fail to do what is needed to keep it going, for example raising the retirement age, increase the amout above 7%. You want all this free stuff, as long as someone else pays for it. You can not pay $100 a month into Social Security, and take out $1,300. a month. In less then 3 years of retirement you would have taken out our your contrabutions, and depend on others to continue to pay for you. Republicans know that with Rights come Responsibilty. Liberials forget about the last part. Republicans keep it simple, We believe in the rights of all people. And that All people should take Responsibility for themselves.

Democrats love poor people so much that they create more of them every year. Just look at the rising number of folks living in poverty, collecting food stamps, and abandoning hope of finding a job. If you like those escalating numbers, give Democrats Obama/Biden another four years and those numbers will soar through the roof!

300 Michael -- What a nasty person you are -- your uneducaed stupid shows through. Who are you to tell others what us Republicans don't like -- how dare you, you unpatriotic idiot. I don't llike you that's for sure. Look in a mirror I think you were actully talking about yourself and the Democ-rats. When was the last time you actually sat down with a Republican and talked about their views -- guarantee you never have -- Democ-rats like you have been preached to about all this stuff since the day you were born -- talk about propanganda and indoctrination into obama's socialist world. Have you ever even read his book about his father's life and how he prides himself on emulating it -- it's called coloniallism and in terms of today, socialism. He believes the government should run a country and the lives of its citizens. I know you like that because you are most likely out of work and getting unemployment,. welfare, food stamps, etc., and where will you be if Romney wins the election. You mght have to get your fat ass out in the world and work for a living. You live in a country buster that has citizens of all walks of life that care about each other, help each other and political preferences do not enter the equation. You see they do it out of the goodness of their hearts and don't need accolades like left wingers do. If it weren't for all the successful business owners in this country no one would have a job -- and the government did not create those jobs, the sweat and toil, the long hours each business person put into their own business to make it grow and become successful was done by them, not the government. So if you don't like the way Republicans think, which is your litany above, then move out of this country. You see, Republicans are very proud of this country, we embrace the free enterprise system, we acaknowledge each other for a job well done, for the hard work, for the philanthropic tihngs we do -- when was the last time you gave of yourself to help someone out, to bring a meal to someone, to leave some shoes for a homeless person or a clean, untorn pair of pants for them, or a blanket so they could be a little warmer in the winter. Rhetoric is just that -- nothing but empty words that mean nothings. So you go ahead and worship your God i the white house, and when he has this country where he wants it, knock on his door and ask him if he has any extra blankete to keep you warm whle you sleep in the street each night -- you'll get nothing -- or you might get arrested for asking, but don't be so naive as to think that obama and all the things he has preached he would do will get done -- they are not part of his agenda. But on his agenda is making sure gas prices go to $5+, or that there isn't medicare for seniors and the death panels will just tell you, sorry, you lived long enought and there isn't anything else we can do for you. Mark my word Democd-rat this will happen with obama -- ever hear of Hitler -- well another 4 years of obama and thi country will be under the thumb of a person like that -- can't believe you want to live like that, but if you do, why don't you go and move to China -- you could work for GM -- oh it's not GM any more, GM sold it to a Chinese firm and when it was sold 70% of the jobs in the GM plant went with it. Open your eyes for god sake. Have a backbone to research and investigate, read, don't just listen to the main stream media and think they are so cool and always right -- there the biggest idiots out there. Learn how to make choices for yourself based on your own research rather than believe everything anyone tells you. You won't. Idiots like you like someone else to run their lives.

                                                  #20.13 - Tue Sep 4, 2012 2:56 AM EDT

Damn right! Abortion; there's a Holocaust going on and it's lead by the Women of this country under the cover of "rights", and wholly embraced by this anything goes culture. Fact: the fetus has a heartbeat within 21 days of conception, destroying a heartbeat is destruction of life, period.

If you destroyed the heartbeat of a dog you would go to jail!

As far as Gays, Christians did not make the rules regarding Gays, we are taught and instructed by our Creator that this is not an acceptable behavior to participate in. As a country, most people in the US accept the language of the bill of rights with respect to our "God given rights" endowed by, WHO, our Creator. Why then would not adhere to his teachings with regard to homosexuality.

I'm not here to pass judgment, I know this is a difficult subject and Gays must be Gay, just as straights act straight, but that doesn't mean we change what a marriage is. We are taught by our Creator that a marriage is between a man and a woman, man did not make this up, so we are just trying to do what we believe to be right. You can't be Christian and then bend or make up your own rules, that's not how it works.

I can't go down the whole list but these are two subjects that stand out from the rest that are very important. Life is not about being "kool" or "cutting edge", it's about truth and standing up for what you believe, and these two subjects have a dramatic affect on our society.

I would be more likely to vote for Clint Eastwood's empty chair than for Romney/Ryan. At least the chair won't rob the middle class....

I will take Romeny over Mr. Uncontrolled Spending. I just hope the country can survive. The rich are lucky, they can easily move. The poor and the middle class will have to stay and pick up the bill he leaves, when the rich no longer pay 70% of the national income.

So you would prefer a no tax then spend administration again?

Besides, it's the other 535 politicians that decide what gets spent. Could only find the courage to blame one?

                                                        Awesome comeback!

                                                        From the article above:

The Gallup poll also found that 40% of national adults said the GOP’s convention made them more likely to vote for Romney, while 38% said it made them less likely.

In conclusion, a net gain of only 2% of national adults say the GOP's convention made them more likely to vote for Romney.

                                                        FORWARD, NOT BACKWARD!!!

                                                        Re-Elect President Obama.

Take back the House of Representatives.

                                                        Keep the Senate.

and America will lead the world out of this Bush CREATED Recession.

So I guess that after 3 1/2 of failure to get America out of this recession we are still blaming the last administration. So the President is not going to take responsibility for his failure to turn the economy around. Sorry, you must have your head stuck in the sand.

President Obama stated after he was elected that he would NOT run for re-election if he couldn't get the unemployment rate down to 6% in 3 years in office. I guess the President lied.

Sorry, but most Americans do not want to go Forward Off a Cliff. The President had his shot and failed, now its time to let the othe guy have his shot.

Where have you Republicans been in the last 3 1/2 years? Obama has made huge strides in correcting Bush's monstrous errors and unfunded mandates. How many jobs were lost during W's last term...MILLIONS! Under Obama 4M have been added every month for the last 30 months, even while having to deal with your obstructionism. You are rightly labeled the "Party of NO". All of you have gone against what would be best for our country. The Republicans spent all their time throwing the economy off the cliff (remember the debt ceiling debacle? Thanks for getting the US credit rating lowered, party of NO) only passed laws to take control of a woman's body, birth control, forced ultrasounds, abortion, or voter suppression. The country could have made even more progress if not for you EVIL bunch.

Over 4 million jobs added. New jobs have been added every month for the last 30 months. I did not mean to say 4 M jobs a month had been added under Obama. Tried to correct before my message was posted, but didn't make it in time, so I don't need anyone to correct it.

Net Jobs? Not 4 million. The trouble with you liberals is you don't look at the facts. The housing market crash was caused by who? Barny Frank and the rest of the democrats on the banking committee. GW tried to stop it 11 times but were caused racists. Our deficits went way up when Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi took control of congress and controlled spending. George Bush was by no means blameless but compared to BO! Your statement only proves you went to government schools.

What was Obamas military rank??? Sure, smart asses, I bet the soldiers saw him in the field many times. You know exactly what I mean and without a political office, he would have been very satisfied to remain an anti military radical and activist....and he will always be just that....Getting a public office does not give you military credibility....and of course when Romney is elected, you will support his military rank also just as you supported Bush....Lefties are such asses....

What the Dems need to do is point out the Bush W. job record after he cut taxes for the rich. In 8 years the Bush Economy created approximately 3.5 million jobs, most of which were public sector jobs. The private sector jobs were simply shipped to China and India (see Bain). I am always stunned that these republicans have the nerve to say anything about jobs when they said nothing during the Bush years. They now want to hire the man who pioneered outsourcing to run the country. A man who did such reprehensible things (regardless of what he was involved) in that he went to great pains to destroy all evidence (hard drives, documents) and is now hiding his tax returns.

Romney is not a great speaker, like Obama is, Obama can sweet talk voters out of their last dollar. Romney is a doer. He just gets to work and gets things done, don't look for him to give firery speaches. The president becomes the Commender and Chief. but that doesn't mean he actually knows what he is doing. His commanders in the field gave him advise, but he didn't heed it. I have a feeling that we will have to go back the both in the near future. The Republicans are the Party of "No" when it come to Raising Taxes, Out of Control Spending, Free Giveaways. That is why you have heard No so often, and like every mother tries to teach their your dauthers, Saying No, is a good start. The Problem is Liberials don't know how to say No when it comes to spenidng other peoples money. They do it to feel good, at other peoples expense. I am sure the future workers will love paying for the current spending Obama has added to the Federal tab.

As for Jobs, dispite Obama's plans yes some companies are hiring. The Problem is there are more people being laid off then there are people being hired. We still do not have as many workers as we did when he took office. That pretty much tells you all the new people entering into the job market from College's and Schools, are not finding jobs they trained for, if they can get a job at all. We need to make a tax plan so businesses can plan for the future, and hire. This changing the tax code every 2 months, makes for uncertianty. Businesses hate this, because they can not plan on what a new hire will actually cost them. US companies already pay the worlds highest tax rate, not to mention the most money to deal with regulations, and the highest pay/benifits,(except for a few European countries.

Precious...Yes, we all know the story well. Obama slid down that rope from the helicopter with both pearl handled revolvers blazing away....And, I even think that there was some Superman music in the background.....Those pearl handled revolvers must be worth a lot of money....If you can find one, I will pay you $10thou for it....It has to be documented however as being the pearl handled revolver that Obama used to shoot Ben Ladin between the eyes. I am sure that the special forces people on hand would gladly verify that.....as they were standing by watching Obama "get" the evil opponent....

Tell you what. You know he didn't and we know he didn't. This is nothing more than childish tripe on your part. He has always laid the credit on all those involved, despite what other outlets say. His speeches were full of credit towards the intel gatherers and the troops that did the job. Never once did he take all the credit.

Maybe if Bush would have finished what he started, Bin Laden would have been killed in 2003. Instead, he starts another war and walks away from Afghanistan claiming Bin laden is no longer of concern. Then, he proceeds to hamstring that effort by sapping troops and vital equipment to his self proclaimed holy war of choice.

I served during that time, as did many of my close personal friends. We were utterly shocked at how the Bush administration ignored our pleas for better armor while we lay dying as a result from the lack of equipment he took from us to go fight his personal crusade. I might still have the lower part of my right leg and 17 of my close battle buddies might still be alive today if he didn't decide that were so unimportant that he could take our equipment from us. We had to share kevlar vests, and were terrified to drive in our unarmored HMMWV's in the IED capitol of the world. The defense contractor were raking in 100's of millions though. Let that sink in a bit.

Then to rub salt into our wounds, he diverts an entire carrier fleet for a photo op to claim mission acomplished. if that mission was to walk away from thousands of troops, then I guess he was right. Funny how we were still there though.

So, next time you want to hate on Obama about Bin Laden, remember this. He resupplied us with the equipment we were begging for for years, and finished what should have been seven years ago. He didn't even have to pretend to land on a carrier to do it either.
