McCain returns to GOP convention in different role

Four years after he accepted the Republican nomination for president, John McCain returned to the GOP convention.

“I had hopes once of addressing you under different circumstances,” McCain said. “But our fellow Americans had another plan four years ago, and I accept their decision.”

While speaking at the RNC, Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., explains why he disagrees with the way President Obama has handled foreign policy decisions over the past four years.

This year, McCain was here in a different capacity – as Mitt Romney’s chief foreign policy attack dog, leveling harsh criticism of President Obama, the man who defeated him in 2008.

He casually charged that because of withdrawing from Afghanistan, “the president discourages our friends and emboldens our enemies.”

Because of Obama’s stance on Syria, McCain said, “Our president is not being true to our values.”

He said he trusts Mitt Romney to lead and without American leadership, “the world will grow darker, poorer and much more dangerous.”

Romney starts at a deficit when it comes to foreign affairs. According to the latest NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll, President Obama has a 54 percent approval rating on foreign policy and more say Obama would be a better commander in chief.

Huckabee said SO much about how good Romney will be, didn't he?

Really??

Hey- on Hannity today, him and Noot pointed out how bad the country is in the toilet, then went on to point out how the race is in a 'dead heat'. Must say a lot about the repubes, huh???

Traitors. All of them.

Do they really think this country can afford to stay in Iraq and Afghanistan?

If we had the money the GOP threw down those rat holes, we wouldn't be in the shape we are today.

More Obama nonsense.

SO- Christi tells us about HIS record in NJ. Nicki Haley tells us all about Boeing and South Carolina. Whats-his-ass tells us all about Ohio.....When is someone going to tell us all about Mitt? His wife tried, and SHE came up with breast cancer and MS. How does THOSE items make me want to vote for MITT????

I've listened to a lot of the speeches so far.

And I haven't heard ONE WORD about the GOP's plans to get this country back on track.

It sounds more like a comedy routine than a political platform.

It is very simple:

1. If a small group of people have all of the money, consumption goes down. Consumption goes down, fewer people have jobs - income growth stagnation and income inequality cause high unemployment, not Obama

2. Romney and his neo cons (not true conservatives by the way) want a government that exists for one reason - income stagnation and inequality.

Meaning - since 1980, when Reagan took office, consumption has continued at previsous levels for one and only one reason - debt based spending. We are in this situation because of 4 decades of crap governmental policy, specifically laws that distribute wealth upwards. YES - the laws send money to the top and that wrecks economies.

This is not a republican versus democrat thing and it is not socialism versus capitalism. It is that our laws push money to the top 1% and keeps the money there. So long as our system is this way, jobs will always be hard to create because demand will always be low because no one has any MONEY other than 15,000 multi millionaires and they can only hire so many people.

That is not what the statistics say. Isn't there something like 30 months of job increases or has your lying party ever told you that. And he has createdmore jobs than Bush did the entire 8 years. and I wonder if you compare how may jobs Romney sent offshore over the years how big that deficit would be. What gets me is the people that actually would vote for Romney. Dont they watch him and listen to what he says. And then Ryan don't they watch and listen to what he says and stands for. Has the republican party taken leave of their senses. There is no excuse for it. None. And they have the unmitigated gall to criticize Obama.

Now just why does Romney think he is ept enough as opposed to inept to run for president. He doesn't even handle the financing correctly. Being rich aint no reason to become president although some apparently think it is.

    You know
    what really pisses me off?

I as responsible American citizen have done my legal and financial obligation to my country by filing paying my taxes on time. Now Romney has the gall to file an extension for 2011, its not like he is doing them himself having to fill out hundreds of pages for tax loopholes and write offs, we don’t even know if he did his 2009 or 2008 taxes there not listed on his web site as being done. Why is it that Rmoney is
not even responsible enough to file his taxes on time? A person with this irresponsible nature should not be running our country. Doing your taxes on time is the most basic responsibility of every American.

    From Mitts website:

In addition, Gov. Romney has released numerous financial disclosuressince 2002, as required by law – which have also been posted on this site. There are 3 federal Public Financial Disclosures (from 2007, 2011, and 2012), and 6 Massachusetts Statements of Financial Interests (from 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007).

Financial Disclosures ??? Nothing about him paying his taxes, but no financial disclosure
from 2008 and 2009. What happened in 2008 and 2009? Are these the years he applied for
amnesty because he committed fraud or did not pay any taxes? I’ll guess the
American public will never get full disclosure from Mitt.

Not responsible enough to file taxes on time , not responsible enough to be President.

And to whoknow I don't think they really hire people. Sometimes they start a business that hires people but generally they don't. Tax cuts do not create jobs. The republicans are stupid if they think that. Why because the tax cuts have been in force for 10 or 11 years and there are not a lot of jobs. So duh! How can they think people are stupid enough to believe that. Have some peoples brains turn to mush or what?

There is a good chance that he got an extension to keep from revealing the information. He pays people to do those taxes and they knew he would need to disclose them. He could fire those people and get his taxes done next week if he wanted but he doesn't.I assume he has a computer. We don't need a president who has his money overseas invested in who knows what. How do we know it is not in an evil empire? And we don't a president who is so sneaky he won't tell us what he is doing with his money. And you people don't need to know. Well you people don't need to vote for someone who shops at costco cause he can't afford or is too stingy to go to Macys or somewhere else. We just have to keep him out of office. Our country can't afford him in it.

    Why,

You ignored the legal filing of an extension to file. The next filing deadline is September unless otherwise arranged with the IRS. This is a legal option to anyone who is working with an accountant to fulfill their tax preparation and obligations. This is common practice among many Americans due to the complex nature of their tax returns. Guess your parents still file the 1040 X for you or you might know this stuff.

In regards to tax cheats do you know the Kennedy's paid no taxes until Jackie died...and the the estate stiffed the IRS...just like a democrat. Check it out for your self. The perks of do as I say not as I do. How about Mrs. Rich renouncing her citizenship and saving millions in taxes this year...another democrat fund raiser by the way. It would seem the Democrats have just as many tax dodgers and cheats including Timothy Geithner. There is a link for you to read in the Wall Street Journal...more if you just google his name.

    Real American,

And who has been President during the largest increase in the poor population in our lifetime? President "I blame it on everyone not in the room" Obama. Another reason for a change in leadership coupled to the 5 million person net loss in employment totals since June 2008 to June 2012. Here ya go, notsosure10:

This was the CNN Money headline in Bush's last month of office:

Job loss: Worst in 34 years

Employers slashed 598,000 more jobs in January as unemployment rate climbed to 7.6%.

Here was last month's number from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 163,000 in July.

And here are a couple of charts of U.S. Gross Domestic Product for 1990 to 2011:

    GDP 1990 to 2011

United States GDP Growth Rate, 1990 to 2012

Looks like the only time we were "going bankrupt" during that period was when your boy Bush was in office.

There's more money in the U.S. economy today than there was before the recession. The only difference is who it's going to. (hint - one of their initials is W.M.R.)

Here is a thumb nail sketch of the Democratic party under Obama..

After her recent heartwarming speech at the RNC, Mia Love’s Wikipedia was edited calling her a “dirty, worthless wh*re who sold her soul in the name of big business,“ and a ”house ni**er.”

Think about that for a minute. This is the way the liberal left in the Democratic party treats blacks who fail to dance to their tune! What an incredibly sad commentary on the Democratic party and Obama administration. Now, we really know who, by their very actions and “hate speech” is attempting to ” keep blacks in chains” vice president Biden! It is the Democratic party who says either you dance to our tune or we will smear you and make your life a living hell!

In response to this type of bigotry and an epidemic of moral decay in the Obama administration, the Coalition of African-American Pastors, a group of leading black clergy, has responded by extolling blacks to withdraw and reevaluate their support of Obama.

Essentially, they and an every growing segment of principled members of the democratic party believe they must abandon Obama's candidacy and return to fight another day when the once proud Democratic party can submit a candidate who is more willing to uphold traditional American values rather than to functional as an architect of policies that will ultimately destroy the country from within.

    ======================================================================

Let me repeat: Europe's economy is contracting, while the U.S. economy is growing.

While Europe elected conservative governments at the worst possible moment, and then embraced the cruel stupidity that is economic austerity, the United States took a different path. Obama stimulus package has stimulated tentative economic growth. Stimulus works, austerity doesn't. Until the economy is fully back on its feet, more stimulus would be the best economic policy. Austerity would be the worst economic policy. So what do the Republicans want to do?

Mitt Romney would have let the auto industry go bankrupt. Mitt Romney thinks unemployment insurance is a disaster. Mitt Romney wants to cut Medicare and Social Security benefits. Mitt Romney wants to cut benefits on just about everyone who needs them in order to finance even more tax cuts for the extremely wealthy— people such as Mitt Romney. In other words, Mitt Romney wants to impose austerity on pretty much everyone other than the very few who are in the economic class of Mitt Romney. In fact, Mitt Romney's economic program is so unfair, and it so favors the very few who are in the economic class of Mitt Romney, that he doesn't even want us to know its details. And that gets to the core of why Mitt Romney is unfit to govern.

Hey, "MYTH" your taxes are going to hound you. Show US your Taxes. Show US you are not a felon. Mrs. Romney show US your "Costo Card" and prove you are not another Romney liar.

    Real American,

Already covered that and 7.6% for his last month in office (President Bush) when President Obama has 42 months about 8.2% or higher...not a great comparison.

You like the rest of the blind don't go to the governments employment figures to see the net loss of 5 million plus. Here I help you out. www.bls.gov It might help if you can subtract the total employment numbers in June 2012 from the June 2008 employment totals. You will discover a 5 million plus net loss. Even with the 163,000 increase the loss of jobs still has the unemployment at 8.2%=8.3% so no real gain in jobs period.

Bush is not my boy just a Obama is not your boy...both were or are Presidents. And you ignored the fact the Democrats "we have to pass the bill to find out what is inside" ran both the House and Senate from 2006 and set the budgets. Now the leadership on Capitol Hill can't develop or pass a budget on either side of the aisle.

WhoKnow, you did a good analysis. Given the parameters the best thing to jump start the USA economy is to Buy American Made. Don't buy Chinese made mushrooms, pumpkin seeds, garlic, jams, or any other food products from China (also for safety - they are insufficiently inspected), Buy USA made cars with high USA made content. Boycott foreign companies selling in the USA. Buy a Ford or GM product don't buy Toyota, Nissan, Kia you are shipping jobs overseas when you do. Use Verizon, T-Mobile is Geman. Bitch like hell when AT&T customer service routes you to India or the Phillipines and the agent can bearly speak English. Try to buy from small shops, the big ones like Walmart are Chinese fronts for all intents and purposes.

I was expat in Germany. One very interesting thing - Germans know they must support their economy by buying German. So go ahead buy that Apple Ipad or tablet and ship a job to China. Apple didn't even have the courtsey to build a state of the art production facility here. The corporations want us to be good consumer sheep but don't want us as workers. Mess up their plans - Buy American Made. Strange that neither presidential contender has stressed Buy Amerocan Made as part of his platform - makes you think they've both been bought out.

First of all, I do not know how any of you can defend a president who has used more excuses than a child being yelled at by his/her parents. Look at the deficit, 5 TRILLION dollars of money that does not even exist spent. Money being printed and more money on top of that being spent. YOUR tax dollars!! Best of all, I love how these liberal stations like CNN, MSNBC look for any possible way to defend Obama. Even if it is ethically, morally and completely wrong, it is pushed to the side and countered with how horrible Mitt Romney is as a businessman. Just so you know, Mitt Romney has built a business and has been responsible for creating profits for that business. Yes, maybe he has shipped jobs to India, but what business has not?!?!? If anyone has any idea, sending jobs offshore used to be considered a business savy and an astute decision. Great CEOs such as Michael Dell and Steve Jobs have done offshoring! Yes, it ended up being a mistake, but I can name 50 more mistakes that Obama is responsible for. I want all of you to realize that its as simple as this to improve this economy. Cut the federal spending!! Cut the entitlements, cut the quantitative easing, and reduce the federal jobs and bring more jobs into the private sector. Also, families on third and fourth generation wellfare needs to stop! The way the system works now is if someone is on wellfare, they are far better off than if they actually got a job. This needs to stop! People wake up!! Look at what is going on out there. If we get another four years of Obama, then kiss the American dream goodbye! Lastly, stop watching these rediculous liberal stations that feed out garbage. If you want the truth, you need to look for it thoroughly and read it. Read, read and read some more. Don't believe everything that the public stations tell you.

(RNS) Since the Rev. William Owens launched his national campaign in May calling on African-Americans to withdraw their support of President Obama because of his stance on gay marriage, he has claimed the backing of 3,700 black clergy and touted his organization as predominantly Democratic.

But Owens and his group, the Coalition of African-American Pastors, are drawing criticism from black leaders and the political left who note Owens' long-standing ties with GOP politicians. They charge CAAP misrepresents itself as a nonpartisan grass-roots organization when it is actually backed financially by right-leaning conservative groups.

That makes him more useful to religious-right groups and easier to book on cable news."

Here is Barack Obama's Main Accomplishments

              Barack Obama's Main Accomplishment:

Signed the National Defence Authorization Act (NDAA) Bill into Law allowing any US citizen to Be Detained WITHOUT trial (A federal Court Blocked it in May because it Violates the Constitution, but Obama is not trying to get it UNBLOCKED!). (Source: )

He has Killed HUNDREDS of Innocent people (Including 3 American Citizens) in Pakistan and Yemen with Drone Strikes (He’s Ordered even more drone strikes than Bush!).

The rate of National Debt under George Bush was Around $60 Billion a Month. Under Obama, it’s been $190 Billion a Month, so that would be Nearly $600 Per US Citizen (Thanks Obama!)

Obama Care: Page 22. MANDATES, The Government will Audit Book of ALL Employers who Self Insure. Page 50, Section 152, Health Care WILL be Provided to ALL Non US Citizens, Illegal or otherwise. Page 126, Lines 22-25, Employers Must Pay for Their Part time Employees Health Care AND Their Families. Page 127, Lines 1-16, The Government WILL Tell you How much Money you can Make.

Obama has By-passed Congress to Enable the DREAM Act (Unconstitutional to By-Pass Congress, and the Illegals he allowed to become Legal Citizens has Committed over 19 Murders and Over 142 Sex crimes).

Obama Claims he Campaigned in 57 States (Maybe he wasn’t Born in this Country?).

Feisty, i have to disagree with you. McCain is who he always was. He is a soldier who will take orders, no matter how distasteful he finds them. The 'maverick' label was a carefully designed ploy that ended up backfiring because of too many years of following orders from above. His time was in 2000, and has passed.

i also like Meghan McCain, mainly due to her book and other writings, but i'm a sucker for a good read...

John McCain ... I used to actually LIKE you but you went all birther with the "American" leadership. Now I disrespect everything you ever stood for and wanted for this country. No wonder you sold your candidacy out to Sarah ... you've nothing in you anymore. SHAME ON YOU!!!

If you were watching MSNBC’s coverage of the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday night, you might believe Feisty's assertions, since missing from the coverage was nearly every ethnic minority that spoke during Tuesday’s festivities.

In lieu of airing speeches from former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis, a black American; Mia Love, a black candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Utah; and Texas senatorial hopeful Ted Cruz, a Latino American, MSNBC opted to show commentary anchored by Rachel Maddow from Rev. Al Sharpton, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, Chris Hayes and Steve Schmidt.

Feisty's remarks were directed towards the delegates and audience. Not at those that were specifically chosen to speak.

Kan, Didn't miss anything with Davis's speech, somewhat vitriolic in nature, but that was to be expected. The republicans will chew him up and then spit him out when he no longer has any use. The other folks you mentioned haven't a clue, and frankly don't care, I only saw about 4 brown faces among the sea of white, so an all inclusive political party the republicans are not.

I don't know if you are even aware - but to me you appear to be the racist. You seem to be obsessed with white people. I've been watching the convention off and on and I've seen black, hispanic, white - are you colorblind by chance or just racist against whites? How about trying to make an intelligent, factual, and relevant statement one of these days? It would be refreshing and at least I'd know you actually put some thought into your post.

Well, I don't blame you, considering there are only few black folks there.

I have watched it and I find it funny the camera has to search left and right and when they see someone black, there is a slight zoom to focus on that person.

Me and my buddy have a drinking game whenever they focus on a black. At the end of the game, neither of us are drunk at all.

                Feisty,

That's funny coming from you "the queen of mean". By the way the people of color who spoke were ignored by the major media outlets...like the ones you watch and depend on to feed you their "truth". Shows you could not be bothered to tune into CSPAN for uninterrupted coverage...you just had to depend on other empty talking heads spewing their racist garbage. One of which was fired by the way and justifiably so. By the way it was the Republican President Lincoln that ended slavery...against the designs of the Southern Democrats. I love how you call the kettle black. Your posts are the most hateful, bigoted, disrespectful, filthy mouthed and intolerant utterances on this blog. Try listening to some positive messages for a few hours a day before you post...it just might help.

I know is it after dark in Chicago so you better get back in the house maybe in a steel bathtub before the regulars start their drive by shootings. This is of course courtesy of the professional community organizer and his bumbler Rahm "I have no idea how to lead" Emanuel. Keep down and keep safe. Try to drop a positive post once in a while.

Chuck Todd did a piece last night. "GOP Putting Minorities In Front At Convention To Appear Diverse". What struck me as most telling and interesting... were delegates from PR, American Samoa and Guam. They were strategically placed up front to represent ethnic diversity. Yet, the true irony of their placement was that these delegates have absolutlely no voting power! I guess that's how the GOP (Gods of Pretend) prefer their tan and brown constituency; like PA and OH... without a vote.

As far as those of you talking crap about the repubs...please tell me what the hell has the Obooma admin done the past four years? Let me educate...they oversaw the second installment of the largest monetary give away to the rich in our nation's history (which Obooma voted to approve as a senator and the dems could have reversed when he took office). He approved a a $15 billlion (which turned into a $23 billion) bailout of GMC and Chrysler allowing both companies to destroy the pension plans of school districts and city employees all over America by voiding all of the shares of stock they owned while allowing both companies to file new ipos selling only to a select group of investors (rich people basically). They have overseen the highest number of unemployed and underemployed Americans in the history of our nation and increased the national debt to $15 trillion while flooding the economy with cheap cash for the banks to swallow up and hord. Oh and one more little thing...Obuttheadcare...the largest single tax increase in the nation's history. When he was elected he said he would bring change, but all he's done is take all of my spare change. And now you idiots are telling me I should be more worried about what Mitt is doing with HIS money than what Obooma is doing with mine? I've learned over the years that the people who don't like you don't need any encouragement. That's why they are your enemies.

Because of Obama’s stance on Syria, McCain said, “Our president is not being true to our values.”

...so, once again, for everyone keeping score at home...

What exactly did this RINO do to be considered a 'war hero'? NOTHING at all. He graduated at the bottom of his class. He single handedly nearly destroyed the USS Forrestal, killing fellow sailors due to his irresponsible acts of stupidity.

He lied about his broken arms. He said the Viet Cong, then the Viet People broke his arms. The truth is he was so afraid as he was headed for a crash that when he ejected his arms were NOT inside the matrix as required by the training program and they were broken when he hit the sides of the cockpit.

He trashed his first wife in favor of a younger, richer, thinner and not disfigured woman. His first wife was seriously injured in an auto accident. She never told him while he was in the comfort of the Hanoi Hilton. He was repulsed by her when he returned.

He immediately began skirt chasing and ended up with a Beer baroness with LOTS of cash.

Sid, our loser navy Pilot, never held a job in commerce or industry. He has always sucked on the teat of the free lunch provided by the US government.

He has no business sense but is good at sniffing out available 'skirts'. This poor excuse for a 'hero' should do the honorable thing and resign so a real Republican governor can fill the seat with a REAL Republican.

Shame on McCain. He may have deliberately thrown the Presidential Race but there is no proof YET that is the case.

He is and has always been over rated. He played footsie with Keating and barely escaped with his Senate seat.

Time for this Neanderthal to go !

I don't know why McCain needs to address foreign policy. Obama has already hung himself in that area. His amateur, fumbling attempts at diplomacy have been an embarrassment to himself and to the US.

First, he publicly and loudly affirmed his support for a Palestinian state, even going so far as to demand that Israel should return to their pre-1967 borders! This had the predictable effect of encouraging the Palestinians to seek their own separate state. Then, he had to order his Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, to veto any UN resolution that might create an actual Palestinian state, in order to salvage the Jewish vote.

Most presidents (not all) have had sense enough to be consistent in the messages they send to the international community. Reversals, like Obama's, only create an atmosphere of uncertainty and distrust. One can easily imagine how Obama's blundering could have started a violent increase in Middle East hostilities.

I said "First, he publicly and loudly affirmed his support for a Palestinian state." His exact words in his Cairo speech were "America will not turn our backs on the legitimate Palestinian aspiration for dignity, opportunity and a state of their own," How can you read that as "totally wrong"?

What are you talking about? Romney is frothing at the mouth to bomb the hell out of two rather waerk natioin states, just because their leadership doesn't fall in line with the rest of the puppets of international finance, and that is what our govt and leaders are, just big puppets for global financial interests. Libya was debt free before our orchestrated "revolution", and Syria will be no better. The whole thing is a rather intricate scame. The CIA and State Dept help creat trouble for a target nation's govt. Creat a crisis that paints the target regime as being "evil", then call for sanctioin, then bomb the hell out of them. Qaddafi was going to create a Pan African Aid Bank to replace the IMF and World Bank, which were screwing over sub Sharan African nations bigtime with hefty interest rates for the enormous loans that were forced on that nation's leadership. Read John Perkins Diary of an Economic Hitman to see how that part of the scam works. The CIA thorugh their NGOs stirs up trouble with making contacts with any disaffected minoirty to start a color coded revolution. When full blown civil war comes about, help the rebels with air and seapower and training, along with money and weapons. After the smoke clears get sweet deals for the military industrial complex to supply the new regime with weapons and for multinational corporations to buy up factories, etc for pennies on the dollar. The 1% folks will make a killing, while hundreds of thousands or millions will lose their lives, and the US will go into an economic freefall from the debt crisis breaking our backs. Wow what a nice foreign policy the GOP has. Trouble is it is the same fp that the Dems seem to have also, but they try to put a nicer face on it.

Kannin, I do agree with you, but face it, the face of the GOP is WAR, and the masses know that war equals more debt. The GOP wants to cut SS and Medicare or privatize it, but want to keep increasing defense spending? For what? Israel has 4 nuclear subs that are now fitted with Popeye nuke tipped missiles, with another one that has been delivered from Germany, and one more still being made. Israel has the largest airforce in the world, and with our help, can fly circles around any airforce in the entire ME hands down. Iran is equipped with mostly Nixon/Ford/Carter era aircraft and even older Soviet tanks. In terms of China, why the hell do we want to cause trouble with the only country that is propping up our economy? Russia, is a minor creditor, but why the hell do we want to make them a belligerent? I guess the bankers and the military industril complex folks want to make one last "killing" before the @!$%# hits the fan. People are sick of war, they are tired of it. Obama and Hilary like to jerk folks around and in the end come off two faced and dangerously ambiguous like you say, but Romney is just bombastic like Bush and MR Bombombomb Iran" McCain.

Robert, I've been reading your posts and trying to make sense of them (it does appear that you have a point to make) but this comment struck me weird ....

Israel has the largest airforce in the world,

So, me, being that silly little libtard Democrat looked it up. Most of Israel's aircraft have been obtained by the United States and while they might have the best trained (given the amount of planes and pilots - you get to do the math) they certainly are not the largest Air Force. I can hear HAFB's revelry every morning and live amongst a LOT of AF pilots and crew, as such, I certainly beg to differ with your post(s).

If we get to election day without a major terror attack, then technically, President Obama will be the first president to have kept us safe during a first term since 9-11. Of course, on 9-12-09, he had officially kept us safer longer than Bush did. Bin Laden is also dead. What is it exactly Republicans don't like or don't feel safe about with regard for Obama's foreign policy? Remember, world peace is great, unless you're a defence contractor.

For right wingers, foreign policy really isn't about peace.

The GOP is all about money and the moneyed elites of the American NE. The entire reason it was created was to break the back of the South under the guise of ending slavery and bring about crony capitalism. The gross corruption that is rampant on Capitol Hill and the WH can be traced to The GOP and their ties to the railroads.

The President is the Commander-in-Chief. Absolutely nothing can be done on the military front with the order from the President of the United States.

No matter what you think, no matter how you feel about our President, you are not stupid enough to believe that combat men like the Seals can just do anything they want. Debbie, you are a woman. You are smarter than that.

Would you be saying that if Bush had given the order and got OBL when Bush was president? I highly doubt it. Nobody is ever saying that Obama personally did the act...but he did give the order and the military follows the orders of the commander-in-chief; just like they followed Bush's order to go into Iraq.

Why is it so hard for some to give credit for the order given....and criticize for not pulling the trigger. I don't hear criticism over Bush taking credit for getting rid of Al Qaeda in Iraq....he didn't pull the trigger and kill Al-Qaeda, put gets credit for eliminating several top people.

So Chuck, you're OK with Obama taking credit for Bin Laden? If you were one of those Navy Seals, would you still be OK with that? If you asked one of those Navy Seals, what do you think their honest response to that question would be? Just think about it - I don't think that last question would be too hard for anybody to answer, do you? And Jackie, I am an Independent and I absolutely would be saying the same thing no matter who was in the office. My daughter serves in the service - the President, no matter who that might be, does not deserve the credit for what these men and women do - they deserve the credit - they don't get much else.

I'm saying he needs to quit taking credit for it. I don't care who the President is - I would object to them taking credit for it. It is for the men and women who were on that mission and who did all the grunt work, intelligence work that brought about that mission and while Obama may have given the go ahead - that is all he did as Commander in Chief so let's get real about that OK? They have Generals in the field over there working on this - Obama's not there. Also - just an FYI, I'm an Independent and my being a woman has nothing to do with it and I am very intelligent - thank you very much. Oh, and my daughter serves in the military so maybe I'm sensitive to the fact that I feel these men and women should get the credit for their work - not politicians - Democrat or Republican.

As my post clearly noted McCain and other republican primary candidates bashed Romney for not releasing more returns and criticizing his record as governor. I don't know, why did Romneys opponents during the primary debates bash Romney on tax returns, Romney care and his poor record as governor? Maybe because they like many of us consider them issues.

Mitt has not even finished his 2011 taxes yet, its almost 2013. A little irresponsible don't you think? I did my taxes on time, didn't you? 1 thing you must remember he has lied about his taxes in the past and got caught remember his filings in Utah when he was running for Governor in Mass. What did he say before he got caught "trust me I'm telling the truth". If there is nothing wrong with his taxes great. But he is not responsible enough to complete his taxes on time, instead filing for an extension which raises more questions.
Not responsible enough to file taxes on time , not responsible enough to be
                              President.

Do you think he is the only investor/businessman in this country who has not filed his taxes yet? Get real! With all his assets there's a lot to do that's why so many investors and busnessmen/women files extensions. Good Lord, with everything going on in this country is this all that you have on your mind?? How about lack of jobs, people losing their homes, the national debt?? His income taxes - really???? You scare me.

Sorry Mccain, You just killed your boy Mitt. Your boy Romney has no idea what a foreign policy is. What is wrong with you. He just took two trip about a month ago to introduce himself. wow the GOP don't know what to talk about. They just talk about the President to avoid saying what they plan on doing. Mitt and Ryan have two different views. What the heck is going on.

And Obama had how much foreign policy experience in 2008? He was voted in with no economic experience and no foreign experience. Really, you shouldn't be talking about what experience Romney doesn't have because of all that can be brought up about Obama when he campaigned in 2008 - and he was elected. Think about it.

From what I heard he did not piss off the Jewish State....

While visiting Poland, Romney met with and received the endorsement of former Polish President Lech Walesa.

Speaking of foreign policy, here are a few good ones:

In March 2012, Hillary Clinton’s spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, insisted that Israel didn’t have a capital that she could name. Then just last week, White House spokesman Jay Carney struggled to publicly identify the capital of Israel. Uncomfortably, Carney ended up giving a series of repetitive sheepish statements: “You know our policy” and “Our policy hasn’t changed.” He couldn’t say that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, but instead clung to future status negotiations talking points. Even Bill Clinton called Jerusalem Israel’s capital.

Carney reminds me of the sniveling little wimp that follows the evil proff around and always says Yes Master regardless of what is said... Hell I am suprised he can even take a Pi$$ by himself... (But for all I know bo hold is for him)

The Brits got their panties in a twist because he asked about their security for the Olympics. Someone who had handled the Utah Olympics asking another country about their security - if the Brits are touchy, that's their problem. Israel loved him so of course Palestine didn't - who do you care about more? I'm with Israel. And they loved him in Poland. So Layton, what trip are you talking about? How about YOU think about that!!

Layton, again, Israel was happy with him. Iran hates Israel, Iran hates us - big surprise that they weren't happy. I wasn't shocked, why were you? And China, really? Do you think we are always going to make these people happy? It's ok that Obama has alienated Israel but oh man, Mitt has pissed off Iran (our best buds) and China - what a disaster. Is that it?? That all you got? I'm disappointed. They may be facts but then there is the case of relevant or irrelevant. I wouldn't be beating your chest over this one Layton - seriously.

This comment from McCain speaks volumes as to what he really thinks of Romney.

Sen. John McCain, the GOP's 2008 presidential nominee, said Tuesday that he didn't pick Sarah Palin over Mitt Romney for his vice presidential candidate because of Romney's tax return issues; he just thought Palin was the better candidate, Politico reports.

                                    OUCH.

Not true John. Give credit to Obama for killing Osama if you wish.

But if you do, you also have to give credit to Bush for toppling the entire fundamentalist theocracy of the Taliban in Afghanistan. Their iron grip on the country was brutal, especially against women. Bush changed that.

Changing the entire government of a country is, by any measure, a far more significant accomplishment than killing one aging straggler from the organization that President Bush defeated. Then Obama crowed that it was the "high point in my presidency!"

In fairness, I agree with him – it was the high point in his otherwise-failed presidency.

Bush's major error was diverting to Iraq and letting the Taliban reassert control. Then we had to go back and finish what should have been finished before. His foreign policy blunders cost us billions and thousands of lives. There was no exit plan.

And I hate to break it to you SF, but the Taliban no longer rule Afghanistan. The following quote from http://www.afghan-web.com/woman/ should help enlighten you:

During the rule of the Taliban (1996 - 2001), women were treated worse than in any other time or by any other society. They were forbidden to work, leave the house without a male escort, not allowed to seek medical help from a male doctor, and forced to cover themselves from head to toe, even covering their eyes. Women who were doctors and teachers before, suddenly were forced to be beggars and even prostitutes in order to feed their families.

Since the fall of the Taliban in late 2001, many would agree that the political and cultural position of Afghan women has improved substantially. The recently adopted Afghan constitution states that "the citizens of Afghanistan - whether man or woman- have equal rights and duties before the law". So far, women have been allowed to return back to work, the government no longer forces them to wear the all covering burqa, and they even have been appointed to prominent positions in the government.

SF - and I agree with you "they haven't gone away." In fact it looks like the Taliban are already anticipating NATO's departure, so they can take their country back into the dark ages. It seems likely that the Taliban will once again establish their brutal tyranny over Afghanistan. They will once again provide a safe haven for Muslim terrorists. And they will once again build their suicide bombs and plan yet more attacks on the civilized world. What a waste.

It is, perhaps, small comfort to realize that the citizens of the country who refused to fully support the NATO forces will be back under the oppressive boot heel of the Muslim extremists. Maybe they will regret their cowardice.

                                      I'm sure their women will.

Thank goodness, Mc Cain was not elected in 2008, or I guess we would be in two more wars with Iran and Syria!

According to Mc Cain, and his Republican leader followers, we cannot afford to borrow more money to fund Medicaid and Medicare for the poor and our seniors but we could borrow another $10 trillion as Bush did to fund two additional wars!

I am glad the Obama Administration stayed at a distance with Syria and tried to push sanctions. Since Russia and China refused to join us in sanctions against the Syrian Government. I think The United States needs a different approach, other than just military and I am glad that the Obama Administration is holding out hope for something different. I think we need to hit any Russian weaponry and military equipment manufacturers in Syria and push international sanctions.

While the GOP wants to continue giving our own weaponry and military manufacturer’s money in government contracts, as our two wars are winding down, we need the Obama Administration to give Russia and China the message that sometimes there are circumstances where The United States puts its foot down about money and contracts.

This republican propaganda movie is simply playing to the band. Democrats are no more interested in a twisted right wing puff piece full of lies and distortions than republicans were with Michael Moores anti Bush movie. At least Moores won the Cannes film festivals best documentary award. Maybe this movie will win the redneck best picture award.

President Obama kept the same policies that Dubya made that disappointed me as a United States citizen. More war and more debt so we might as well kept a republican. Although since the last election I realized that both parties serve the same interest so it doesn't matter who you vote for they are all full of **** and continue to build global communism for bankers/cooperations. America your being lied to because neither party is going to change anything because what they want is total authority over everything just like a communist.

The only the Republicans have voted on are 30+ abortion bills and 30+ bills to repeal health care reform, oh yea and 1 highway bill that contained 10+ pages of abortion regulation in it. For some reason these guys think they can over ride the constitution by trying to pass these bills, Just like Rand said today he is going to change the supreme court rulings, is he a supreme court judge.

This poor excuse for a 'hero' should do the honorable thing and resign so a real Republican governor can fill the seat with a REAL Republican.

Shame on McCain. He may have deliberately thrown the Presidential Race but there is no proof YET that is the case.
