VIDEO: Mia Love: Race doesn't matter, calls Biden 'disrespectful'

NBC's Luke Russert interviews Utah Congressional candidate Mia Love who is vying to be the first African American Republican Congresswoman in history.

Mia Love sees the campaign that President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are conducting as “disrespectful,” quoting the so-called “war on women,” and Biden’s recent comments on the campaign trail when he told a crowd that Republicans “want to put ya’ll back in chains.” 

“Well, when you think about it, let's look at the 'war on women,' I mean, he's tries to politically get women to vote for men,” the Utah congressional candidate said. “And if you think about Joe Biden's comments, "They want to put ya'll back in chains," I think it's absolutely disrespectful to the office that they hold. I deserve a president that sees me as a human being.”

But Love feels that her race won’t be a factor in her effort to become the Republican’s first African-American congresswoman, saying that her race and gender “doesn’t matter.” 

Asked how the Republican Party reaches out to groups its struggling with like African Americans, Latinos, women, and young voters, Love said the GOP just needs to focus on what she says American’s care about, which is the economy.

“I think that what they need to do is continue doing what the Republicans are doing right now, what Mitt Romney is doing, and that's focusing on the economy,” Love said. “That's what people really care about.”

At least you see someone happy to belong to a party, as opposed to people bailing from the Democratic agenda. Again, how many independents are now NOT voting for Obama? How many people have been disappointed that Obama didn't hand them their own version of paradise? Look at the polls and you can clearly see the dissatisfaction of people who were all "giddy" back in '08, and now are looking for someone other than Obama to lead them. They are the ones that Obama has forgotten. He used those folks (and they didn't even know they were being used) to build the excitement to get himself in the White House and now that he throws them a bone (i.e. executive order on amnesty) at the last minute in the campaign as a lame effort to try and recreate what he had in '08. Now it just shows how desperate he has become with the attack ads on Romney. If he wanted to truly show people what "accomplishments" he has supposedly achieved, then why resort to a negative ad campaign?

While that may be true, poll after poll have shown that independents (the bread and butter and the class that took Obama over the finish line) are NOT going to be voting for Obama this time around. Whether they swing to right, or sit on the sidelines, it clearly shows a huge segment of the population is not happy with the job done by the president. Spin it anyway you want, but Obama has lost a critical segment of his voting bloc since 2008.

    Then why weren't the "inherent rights" of my ancestors considered by the founders?     Is counter to legal and legislative history. Government expanded because society expanded. The "Founding Fathers" did not have to legislate aerospace, telecommunications, complex interstate issues (that where formerly left to the elites to fight over), civil rights law, the expansion of technology, wiretapping and other issues. Just go to your local law library and read the litigation behind laws. With out the laws the powerful and unscrupulous would just run over you.

        Anyone with their eyes closed know the GOP clearly has a disrespect for the Africian American Community and Latinos. The GOP's interest in this woman is clearly because she's is Black and it's very sad that this woman has taken them up on their offer in an attempt to fool the African American or any other community.

        Micheal Steel was only elected because President Obama was elected, after that they had no more use for this guy.

        So the latest poll says that the GOP received 0% so this woman is saying that the African American community is not underestanding the GOPs position on her own community? Further that she's smarter than her entire community?

        Unfortunately the African American Community has a small group of their own community who will do anything and say anything for a position, money, even knowing how it hurts their community as a whole.

        I really feel for young African Americans who see this type of sad behavior knowing that she would not be standing there were it not for all the lives given, and so many in her community with the help of others whites, Jews included and others just to give her the privledge to have a place in America.

        Everytime we see this behavior it's very sad, knowing her history, the history of her community, those who fought, died, bled, walked, marched, literally gave their lives up to give yourng African American a chance to Stand up not to Throw Stones at her own community and Stand with those who have their very Feet on her community's head.

        I don't care how many respond to my post, they know it's true, Race in our country is the one subject no one wants to talk about. Her community's current Unemployment Rate is above 50% in many cities, Michigan African American Cities were taken over, their Democracy taken

        It's a sad day when a Young African American Woman comes before the cameras in our country and say Race does not matter. Yes they want to make her a Rock Star in an attempt to prove to America that they like her community knowing all along that all the lies about Welfare, even todays's CNN African American Woman Reporter that was told "That's How THey Feed Animals" throwing food at this woman.

        You have to ask why anyone felt it would be ok to come to the RNC Convention and treat this Young African American Woman like they Did, why were they so comfortable doing so?

        Simply because the Environment to Do So has been created by the RNC Party.

        This young African American Woman is very sad she has no idea the damage she's done to her own community, her relatives when someone in their community just completes ignores the facts, the entire African American Community is not stupid they revealed their treatment of the RNC in the latest poll for the Republican Party 0%

        We can only pray for someone like this young woman and the Miicheal Steels of this world, know the hurt they cause, rather than running far away from this Republican Party they stand against their own community!

        That was a thoughtful post. I agree with some of that prospect, but at the same time I must admit that what I knew as the African American Community, the American Ghetto Heaven, the Hood, the Block is no more. I actually have some respect for her in trying "to be somebody" in this world, even if by Afrocentric definition she's a "sellout". I mean Western Civilization has conditioned people of color, including Asian, Native American etc. that if you dont serve any usefulness to its Manifest Destiny agenda, then you will never be anything but a minority, a worthless one at that. Hence if you do, then at least you can be a tool, a minority with some purpose. Being a human being is not enough. But what my "fellow Americans" who dont fall into that category, and have been conditioned to believe that everything done envolving the colors of the Star Spangled Banner is righteous and justified by "God" or a piece of paper dont understand is that the flag and everything is stands for is just a ruse to blind them from seeing that the only color that really matters to any of those people on both sides is GREEN, or gold I suppose. I don't understand why you don't first of all stick with the truth, second of all be respectful and third of all state your policies which differ fromObamas. Well I guess third of all you would have to figure out what those policies are. I have no doubt with all the bellowing about spending that if the republicans are elected they will spend what Obama does and more like during the bush years. Ryan has no problem with spending. It is just he spends on corporate things and things that help big business because he doesn't believe you are obligated to help people. they are on their own. that is his philosophy and he holds to it pretty well doesn't he. The problem I have with your free speech is that you squander the opportunity with spewing hate and not mentioning one policy at all except do everything opposite of Obama regardless of how good his policies are.               I must say the majority of times I have no clue what she says because her words are always collapsed by the time I see them. Why don't you let her say them. Noone collapsed anyone at tHE republican convention did they and they were pretty hateful.. In fact everytime they open their mouth some hate comes out.                 I was visiting in Utah in the 70's when my host told me the Church leader(I don't know his formal title) just had a revelation that black people were not considered children of Saten anymore. This revelation took place just as the Justice Department was about to cite the Mormon church for discrimination.

                Of course, if you live in Utah, you must be an LDS'er or you don't exist. It's as true today as it was then.

                      Look, facts are facts, the Republican party took a position to do what ever they could to make sure this President failed at the expense of this country. No other time in 30 years has any party done this since I have been voting.They would not meet 1/2 way anywhere and even when their own ideas were added they still refused to accept anything put forth. I am a Marine and former athlete and their guy was passed on as team QB so they decided to drop every pass, fumble every ball and blam the President. If that mentality is acceptable keep following these guy and believe they are looking out for you, because you are the 1%. They attack teachers and civil workers yet they pull down 200-450K as congressmen....no wonder they won't increase taxes on themselves, or MAN up like we are taught as Marines, make sure your troops are taken care of before you are.                       It is unfortunate to see a black woman given the circumstances surrounding this election .. two in fact.. trying to bring down a black president. But this has always been done throughout history. The white agenda has invaribly used black women to down black men and keep them in their place.                       Anyone how cannot see the inuendoes in Paul Ryan's message last night must be blind. His message was to his base which is conservative white right America. When Republicans talk about the founding fathers creating the country and returning to those times they are sending a coded message of exclusion. They are not referring to the majority of today's Americans. There are no founding fathers who were men of color.So to return to those days and those standards also means reverting to the way one thinks about other races. Biden's comments were spot on and if blacks and Hispanics stay home and let Romney and Ryan steal this election.. which they are attempting to do. Check out the agencies that are working to secure this election ... photo ID's; intimidating voters at the polls..... If you think hanging chads were something just check the trenches this election. This is the Conservative White Right last stand and they are pulling our all stops. Is there no end to what he will attempt to do to shore up the sinking Obama presidency and empty campaign?(see the clip of his diatribe on Morning Joe) Mathews, once again, was the one attempting to inject racism into the campaign by his usual tactic of race baiting and fear mongering. While shouting down those that seek to give reasoned responses to his drivel. This is a very typical ploy by the far left to try and steer the discussion away from the issues and truth. The public knows better and sees through sycophants like Chris Mathews. It is a shame that Mathews has decided to give up what little journalistic integrity he had to become a partisan hack shill for a failed presidency. A presidency that is based on an ideological outlook that has never produced a viable system to go along with the freedoms and values Americans cherish.

                      But , alas, Mr. Mathews knows that his arguments are not winning the day, as is evident by the abysmal ratings his show, and the others on the MSNBC nightly lineup, receives week after week and month after month. Of which, I am sure, Mr. Mathews is painfully aware, but can not help.. Most likely he is , indeed, singing his swan's song before he is put out to pasture by the powers that be at NBC. .But, of course, that will not deter Mr. Mathews from continuing to ratchet up the fear mongering, race baiting and divisive rhetoric as the nation turns away from a president that has very little to offer, in terms of concrete viable actions, to follow up on his empty rhetoric. Most Republican ads and GOP speakers at the convention: welfare reform, Santorum's food stamp in re the "blah"(black) people, calling Pres.Obama the food stamp president, He's(Pres. Obama) not an American(birther) issue, He's a communist, socialist, He's not Christian but Muslim,He's a monster, kid's at one school drawing pictures of Pres. Obama being a target,shot in the head, etc.(pictures were taken by a parent who was really troubled), too many evangelicals of national fame calling into question Pres.Obama's faith even though he says that he believes in Christ as Lord and Savior but at the same time saying that although Romney is NOT a Christian, he follows Christian principles(Go Figure??), even if Pres. Obama did not embrace gay marriage or abortion, THEY still would not endorse him for obvious reasons. Commentators on many stations, including conservative media have and are stating that Romney/Ryan must get about 61% of the white vote, knowing that they will get the vast majority of white men; remember the GOP is about 90% white which doesn't bother them at all! Why? Looking at the laws being enacted at the state level. This is really were the battle for freedom for AA,Latinos and other people of color must be won! If we think it is bad now....If R/R win, the clock will be turned back to pre-civil rights days of Jim Crow, which is subtly coming back now in states but disguised as laws the states need. Yeah right!

                            The reason that black people (male or women) get ripped apart when they are in the GOP is that they are used by the GOP to represent black people as a whole and that is not the case. If you put Obama in a race against a black republican for president, Republican's STILL would not get the black vote. They do not actually represent the values and views of most minorities.

                            The basic problem is minorities, for the most part, have no real values, as they pander to the Democrats for a free ride and endless entitlements. If it was not for the educated, hard working whites, there would not be tax money available to fund their cherished freebies and handouts. Honest evaluation, not racist, but then again any criticism of the black minority by a white person triggers an automatic response of racist, regardless the validity of the statement.
