Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said the 2012 election would have been a good time for him to run politically, but he personally is not ready to have made a run for office.
TAMPA, Fla. – Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Sunday that he’s “not motivated” to seek the White House and follow in the footsteps of his presidential brother and father.
Bush, whom many Republicans had implored to run for president this year, acknowledged on “Meet the Press” that 2012 would have offered a prime opportunity for him to seek the Republican presidential nomination.

But Bush, who had been scheduled to speak here on Monday night of the Republican National Convention before weather forced the cancelation of that day’s activities, would not rule out a future run for president, though he did not seem eager to do so.
“I don't think about it. I'm not motivated by it. It takes an incredible amount of discipline and ambition,” Bush told moderator David Gregory.
“I'm not there yet in my life,” the former Florida governor added.

Jeb Bush’s father, George H.W. Bush, served as president of the United States from 1989-1993, and his brother, George W. Bush, served as president from 2001-2009.

It will be decades if ever, before this country is accepting of another "Bush" in the White House!
Jeb can thank his little bro "W" for stealing his thunder...
Speaking of FL, on another note, another ex-Governor named Charlies Crist has come out and endorsed President Obama on the eve of the GNOP
conventioncircus!http://www.tampabay.com/opinion/columns/article1247631.ece
OH MY!
The Vulture/Voucher 2012!
Meanwhile baby brother "W" along with his sidekick the "Dick" weren't even invited!
Wonder why that is? lol
Maybe, because the majority of this country still blames the dynamic duo for the economic collapse?
And where o' where is Sister Sarah? Nowhere near Tampa, that's for sure. The nation won't be treated to one of her firebrand speeches in prime time. Oh, bummer (sarc).
Yes, the mostly ignorant majority does still blame Bush for the economic collapse. The informed minority realizes that the economic problem is rooted in a belief that began decades ago and supported by both Dems and Repubs - that every American who wants a home should be able to buy one ... even if they could not afford it. The housing industry has always pulled us out of recessions but not this time because there is a 5 year glut of overbuilt homes.
Ramen to that Fiesty
THANK GOD!!! The last Bush tried to destroy us, and the first one wasn't too great either. As a matter of fact, every GOP candidate out there is just about worthless.
Bush/Rubio '20!
Ole Jeb still has to figure out how to handle to very bad situations:
1) He was the "bag man" in Venezuela who handled the actual transfer of funds to the Contras during the Iran-Contra Affair. He lived in Venezuela and was very tight with Chavez insiders. Any run for President or other national office would find accusations about his father knowing about Iran-Contra dredged up aloong with his own involvement. He has apparently told friends that he would not consider national office until his father is dead for this reason.
2) He is married to a Mexican woman (Columba) who has been charged with felony smuggling on three different occasions, including once while he was governor. While the first two were resolved by paying the duty, the third resulted in a treble fine and five years probation. Bush has stated that he loves this woman more than life and would not like to see her dragged through the mud by the media.
We don't need anymore Bush people in the White House. And Mitt is actually worse than Obama. That's saying a lot.
Jeb seams smarter than his duma$$ brother. He may be someone I could vote for. He hasn't gotten on the crazy train yet
While Jeb may be smarter than his intellectually challenged brother, he is as crazy as a @!$%#house rat if he harbors any lingering doubts that the country will react strongly to any attempt by another Bush to take the White House.
A bush in 2016 would virtually seal the deal for Democrats again. Democrats should Support Jeb Bush.
After what warmonger W and his cronies did to this country it will be a cold day in Hell when another 'bush' is elected. Just stay in Fla and rig yet another election result.
txrbt: Have you not realized that "decades ago" the financial "talent" had not invented "bundling" of mortgages and "tranches" of bundles of mortgages, and AIG insurance of tranches of bundles of mortgages?
That this financial maneuvering created a domino effect that collapsed many aspects of the economy?
Decades ago, and up until recently, the mortgage risk was not foisted wholesale onto the economies of the world, but held by each lending institution issuing the mortgage.
Until these new "financial instruments" were invented by the oh so clever and greatly deserving financial and investment capitalist class, lenders knew their clients and were able to determine who was a worthy and "deserving" credit risk, and they assumed that risk on a case-by-case basis.
So, give us a break with the idea that it's a result of the policy to help people have homes. No legislation demanded that financial institutions create their Ponzi schemes, and the few whistle-blowers who warned of a collapse were ignored by everyone, regardless of party affiliation.
As for Jeb: He will have to wait probably 16 years for a crack at it. After Obama has his next turn, especially if given a Congress willing to work with him, there will continue to be improvement in the economy. The Democratic President after Obama will have 8 years to further the gains.
Only then will a right-leaning candidate have a chance to claw back the gains of the middle class to the Onepercenters.
It is to be hoped that the electorate never forgets the push to deregulation, two hugely expensive unfunded wars, gimmes for health insurance and drug companies, and an unconscionable tax break for the wealthy that finally and conclusively debunked "trickle down" economic theory.
Yep. If he was such hot snot, he would've been the Romney pick for VP as they need all of the help they can get with voters.
total Jeberish!
Why did Hillary in 2008 cause concern of a Clinton dynasty, but a 3rd Bush President is all right.
Don't beat around the Bushes - At least one Clinton already led to one Clinton prosperity - the longest in US history, but 2 Bushes led to 4 Bush wars and 2 Bush Recessions, getting worse each time.
Part of Gov. Crist's editorial:
Gov. Crist, could you please say that on camera for a 30 second commercial? That would be devastating. I hope he speaks at the Democratic convention.
Challenging an incumbent is always a little tricky, but when you add the "Gee Doubleyah" legacy the 'give it a miss' decision by Jeb is hard to fault.
not there in his life or any ones life time ..the first two were idiots ..why would this country want another one
Oh, bullcrap! Let's take a look at the record...
From the moment Bush entered the WH, he was pushing his American Dream Downpayment initiative. From a radio address to the nation in June, 2001, just six months after Bush took office:
For instance, while the rate of homeownership amongst all Americans is nearly 68 percent, the rate among African-American and Hispanic families is under 50 percent. One particular program, the American Dream Downpayment Fund, will provide $200 million in downpayment assistance to help 130,000 low-income families buy homes.
Less than a year later in March, 2002:
I commend Chairman Oxley, Housing Subcommittee Chairwoman Roukema, and Congressman Green, for introducing H.R. 3995, the "Housing Affordability for America Act of 2002" and look forward to working with them on the bill in the legislative process. Increasing housing opportunities for all Americans is a high priority for my Administration. In particular, I am committed to increasing the opportunities for minority families to become homeowners.
Please note the sponsors of this bill: Oxley and Roukema are both staunch Republicans. Although this bill was never enacted into law it is obvious that Republicans in 2002, urged on by President Bush, are making minority home ownership a top priority.
Also in June, 2002, in a speech given at a church in Atlanta, Georgia, Bush provided more details about how he was going to increase minority home ownership:
And so by the year 2010, we must increase minority home owners by at least 5.5 million.
First, the single greatest barrier to first time homeownership is a high downpayment. It is really hard for many, many, low income families to make the high downpayment. And so that's why I propose and urge Congress to fully fund the American Dream Downpayment Fund. This will use money, taxpayers' money to help a qualified, low income buyer make a downpayment.
... to streamline the process, make the rules simpler, so everybody understands what they are -- makes the closing much less complicated. We certainly don't want there to be a fine print preventing people from owning their home. We can change the print, and we've got to.
And we want to fully implement the Section 8 housing program, homeownership program. The program will provide vouchers that first-time home buyers can use to help pay their mortgage or apply to their downpayment.
Do you get that? Bush wanted to take Section 8 renters and help them buy homes! People who couldn't afford their own rent - how the hell were they going to pay for a house?
You will note that many of the quotes above refer to the American Dream Downpayment Fund. This fund was established by the American Dream Downpayment Act, passed by the House and Senate and signed into law by George W. Bush in 2003. What was in this act? Here is a copy of the fact sheet that was passed out before the speech announcing the push for this legislation one year before it was passed:
The Administration also implemented a hybrid Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARM) product that makes it easier for new homebuyers to stay in their homes in the first few years.
Substantially increasing, by at least $440 billion, the financial commitment made by the government-sponsored enterprises involved in the secondary mortgage market specifically targeted toward the minority market.
Both ARMs and the secondary mortgage market were indicted as key factors in the housing meltdown by most economists.
All legislation is documented on government websites. Look this one up; it is quite interesting:
American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI) - signed into law on Dec 16, 2003.
Sponsor: Sen. Wayne Allard [R-CO]
Co-sponsors: Samuel Brownback [R-KS]; Conrad Burns [R-MT]; Ben Campbell [R-CO]; Michael Crapo [R-ID]; Michael Enzi [R-WY]; Charles Hagel [R-NE]; Lisa Murkowski [R-AK]; Richard Santorum [R-PA]; Jefferson Sessions [R-AL]
Note that there was not one Democrat co-sponsoring this bill. The bill was sponsored by a Republican, co-sponsored only by other Republicans, passed by a Republican majority in the House and Senate and signed into law by a Republican president.
You are wrong! Republicans in general and George W. Bush in particular are responsible for the entire mortgage meltdown! The last thing this country needs is Republicans back in power to do it all again!
Oh I can't wait until King "Jeb" Bush inherits all those Super Secret Powers Obama has stolen from US like the "Super Power" of Assassination and Indefinite Detention without Trial of American Citizens.....There won't be a Free Roaming "Liberal" or Real American left on the Planet!
Hahaha you all you UN Liberals loved it when Back Door Barry stole & abused those new Powers for himself.....So now what ya gonna do when King Bush uses them against YOU.........Call Ghost Busters?
Hmm maybe that's why der Homeland Of Insecurity bought 1.4 Billion Rounds of Jacked Hollow Point Bullets... For a Liberal Dose of Target Practice!
Jeb Bush still waiting in the Wings....Just One More Reason to Refuse To Re-Elect ANY Incumbents be they DemoRAT or RepubloRAT especially NOT that Al-Qaeda Supporting HERO of Goldman Sachs & Professional Wall Streets Favorite LIAR To US Barry Bush-Wacker!
The "he-who-shall-not-be-named" brand is a no go. You can't bring out "lawn darts", again, and expect everyone to start tossing them!
I would consider voting for Jeb, depending on who he runs against. He was good for Florida, unlike Gov Rick Scott.
Not there yet in his life.....
For once the world can agree with a Bush.
"Jeb Bush on White House run: 'I'm not there yet in my life'"
Hell, son, after the "performances" put on by your father and brother, you won't be there in Methuselah's lifetime.
I would be willing to bet the GOP will have trouble for the next15 or 20 years getting a quality candidate. The righties are the wrongies at this point in time and they are to strung out to be trusted.
Lets say Romney does get elected. What kind of lunacy will be running the government under him? Scary thought at best
You all crack me up. Clinton had tons to do with the over extension of loans . And dereg of the banking industry. You would not hesitate to sponsor a Kennedy with their bootlegger, womanizing, druggy history.
Lulu is the perfect name for a right-wingnut,delusional troll.
The Bush name is poison in this nation. Remember -- one Bush was voted out after one term and the other is seen as one of the very worst presidents in history.
At the rate the intelligence level of the US population is dropping, a 3rd Bush in the White House would seem appropriate. Republicans want voter ID. OK by me if we bring back literacy tests.
The 2 Bush's who have thus far served, have shown themselves not to be Presidential timber. GW was "Bush" in name only. His reality was much more indicative of a poorly formed "sapling". GHW Bush Himself wasn't enough of a Bush to withstand the weight of a "squirrel's nest for a winter season. I seriously doubt "Jeb" will ever be anything closely resembling the required tree.
Well...I'm just thankful Obama doesn't have any brothers!
Barack Obama has:
Signed the National Defence Authorization Act (NDAA) Bill into Law allowing any US citizen to Be Detained WITHOUT trial (A federal Court Blocked it in May because it Violates the Constitution, but Obama is not trying to get it UNBLOCKED!).
He has Killed HUNDREDS of Innocent people (Including 3 American Citizens) in Pakistan and Yemen with Drone Strikes (He's Ordered even more drone strikes than Bush!).
The rate of National Debt under George Bush was Around $60 Billion a Month. Under Obama, it's been $190 Billion a Month, so that would be Nearly $600 Per US Citizen (Thanks Obama!).
Obama Care: Page 22. MANDATES, The Government will Audit Book of ALL Employers who Self Insure. Page 50, Section 152, Health Care WILL be Provided to ALL Non US Citizens, Illegal or otherwise. Page 126, Lines 22-25, Employers Must Pay for Their Part time Employees Health Care AND Their Families. Page 127, Lines 1-16, The Government WILL Tell you How much Money you can Make.
Obama has By-passed Congress to Enable the DREAM Act (Unconstitutional to By-Pass Congress, and the Illegals he allowed to become Legal Citizens has Committed over 19 Murders and Over 142 Sex crimes).
Obama Claims he Campaigned in 57 States (Maybe he wasn't Born in this Country?).
I'm NOT a Romney Supporter, but I would say Vote anyone BESIDES Barack Obama. And if Obama Gets Re-elected, buy Guns.
Someone who has been more than a community organizer and says he is not ready to be the President.
He has already shown more leadership and honesty than the current President.
I would vote for him over current every day.
Anybody else thought we were supposed to leave dynasties behind when we abandoned the monarchy?
I have to hand it to the writers of First Read. They know exactly how to push the buttons of their liberal posters. Any topic that contains the following names riles up any liberal and the nasty mill:
Bush.... Palin.... Romney.... Ryan.... Bachman.... Trump.... Gingrich....
There are more, but this is a group of 7, one for each day of the week.
First Read loads and fires the gun... the liberal readers chase after the bullet...
Yet, here is a unemployed. gubment teat sucking, conservative slug chiming in with his incessant whining right on time!
and here we have the best the Tea Party has to offer in paplov28667 chiming in. A re-reg no doubt. Thinks they're making a difference but only showing how desperately ignorant their plight is. This is getting funnier every day as the election draws near. Can't wait until the week before. Should be an all out war of insults like never seen before. We all know how the right takes losing. LMAO.
To the incessant blathering liberals - Your hatemongering is superior. I have to hand it to you. I've learned many new ways to insult people just by reading the words of the liberal posters. I've never come across a group of people so desperate to show their asses through insulting fellow Americans. You've made a sport of it... Too bad it doesn't work with me. The ONLY thing you are convincing me of is exactly how insecure you are in your candidate. You know Obama is a loser and he doesn't stand a chance at winning. Just look at the facts... the lame stream media is his campaign arm... especially MSN. Look where the liberals all hang out... in the place where they find food. Too bad it's bottom feeding.
The liberals are actually jealous of the Tea Party... they say it every time they insult them... If there was real substance to the liberals insults, the insults would actually make sense.
The entire crux of this election falls on the perception of the American people... not liberals. Obama has nothing to offer, no hope, but plenty of change... into something Americans don't want. Americans don't like $16 Trillion in debt... of which Obama has added $5.3 Trillion of it. Americans don't like a published unemployment rate of 8.3% and over 40 months of sustained unemployment of over 8%. That says nothing about the real unemployment rate of close to 20%.
Liberals - your candidate has nothing going for him. He has not kept many of his promises... he's lied to the American people in many ways. He's got nothing but the same type of insults you provide, negative campaigning and him saying he wants the job... BFD! Reality will hit home and liberals will be standing there wondering what happened because if they can't figure it out now, it will be impossible for them to figure it out then.
A third Bush would be called George III, after George HW and George W. I thought General Washington had succeeded in kicking out George the III in 1781.
Jeb for President? It's pure Jebrish.
What a great day to be a American. Its great to live in a country where can speak are minds, no matter what the views we have. Its all how one looks at it. Its really funny some people have to be right all the time. Even when there wrong. My view is my view no matter how others see it. If you don't like it you have the right to comment or not, you can ignore me thats just fine to. I also use my right to ignore.
To bad jr bush ruined jebs chances. jeb was the one with the brains in the family. jeb is about the closest to aa old school republican than what the republican/tea party has become today. But that could change.
Obama-Biden 2012
...the numbers for Bush's last three months. Between October and November, 597,000 jobs were lost; between November and December, 681,000 were lost; and between December and January, 741,000 were lost.
April 2012 marks the 26th straight month of gains in private-sector employment, for a total of 4.2 million private-sector jobs.
DJIA Dec 1, 2008 = 8149
DJIA Aug 24, 2012 = 13157
Dec 29, 2008 U.S. corporate earnings fell for a sixth-straight quarter, the longest streak in at least 20 years, as consumer spending on automobiles, homes and retailers collapsed.
May 11, 2012 Fortune magazine released its ranking of the 500 biggest US corporations Monday, which showed that they received a record-breaking $824 billion in combined profits in 2011, up 16 percent from 2010.
I'd say he has a lot going for him.
Paplov, one of Pavlov's salvating dogs... Insulting women seems so natural to you. Perfect troll for the perfect party for trolls.
We know what the "Bush" brand is all about and I am confident that Americans memory is not that bad or that short. As a nation we have not recovered from the devastation of his brother and it will take several more years to get to even after he concentrated on paying those back that put him in office and ruined our nation...beware Romney is and will do the same for those that buy him the position. More tax cuts for the wealthy and gutting the middle class will be our ruination. Stay away from that Monarcy…
Smart guy.....AMERICA is sick of any more BUSHES!!!!!!
After having experienced George the First and George the Second, I do not want to live during the reign of George the Third.
Peace and God's blessings to all this day.
Jerk. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the elder George. everyone with a brain knows that Clinton started the economic downfall with some of HIS deregulation. Read some economic history.
Lulu, Clinton's worst moments were when he behaved like a repiglicon:) A repiglicon pointing the finger at Clinton for "deregulation", is like skunk complaining about someone elses' body odor. Read some economic history and then contemplate the meaning of disingenuous tool.
You mean, "it's not my turn yet." With any luck, that will never come.
His next opportunity may be against Hilary and he'd be a fool to try. He'll be too old to ever run with any chance of winning.
I suspect he's waiting for two things.
First, no incumbent President running for reelection, especially not one with Obama's positives.
Second, he's waiting for the Tea Partiers and other wingnuts to be driven out, before they succeed in marginalizing the G.O.P. out of existence.
It would be impossible for someone named Bush to ever get elected president after what W did. I wouldn't lose any sleep over this.
Thank God!!! His grandfather financed Hitlers war machine while American boys were fighting and dying on the shores of Europe. His father sold our manufacturing base out to the Chinese and allowed Monsanto to genetically modify our food. Neil robbed Silverado Savings and Loan leaving the the US taxpayers to clean up the mess to the tune of 1.4 billion dollars and his other brother Gerogie boy drove us into banruptcy, made the entire world hate us and looted the treasury of nearly 1 trillion dollars on his way out the door. Another Bush would be the nail in America's coffin.
And Obama just wants to run us into ruin with his debt.
Lulu do you realize that your heroes Reagan, GHW Bush and GW Bush ran up nearly 11 trillion dollars in debt? What a short and faulty memory we have for such an "expert" in economics. LOL
lulu98 is like the other Republicans whose news gathering is spending two hours each night listening to Shaun Hannity and Bill O'Reilly blab out their FOX diarrhea opinions. Blaming Obama for the 16 trillion while the above just put it into the proper debt ratio and who was responsible for it. It's a bright example of what Republicans call "fiscal" responsibility. In addition to that GWB gave Obama THE GREAT BUSH DEPRESSION OF 2007, which we are still in the midst of the storm. In additon two unfunded wars that are difficult to put and end to. And all they blab about is 41 months of 8.1% unemployment, were lucky it's not 41 months of 20% unemployment.
NO MORE BUSHES! This country can't take anymore.
All of his children have been arrested by the police, for bad behavior.......who would want to vote for someone who can't even control his own children?
I can't stand the Bushies but that is an unfair comment.
Oh, but calling the POTUS a communist who hates America and is falsely accused of not even being born in this country is? I don't think it's even remotely possible to be too hard on the Bushes.
So Tony when did Jrb Bush say that? Well, never.
tony,
You justify one insult for another? Nice...
Who cares where he is in his life. America does not for any reason need another Bush in the White House.
even if he can better lead than Romney or Obama...
Let's be real people. After the abortion that was the Bush presidency, it is going to take years before people accept another Bush. The American people have a longer memory than that!
Exactly. Jeb could never live long enough for us all to forget.
And we will not forget the mess that Obama has made.
He was handed a mess. From Clinton surplus to deficit, 2 unfunded wars, U.S. Attorney firing scandal, Botched hurricane Katrina response, and oh, by the way, why was he not at the convention and why is he not campaigning for the repub ticket? Clinton is making appearances for the dems. Oh, that's right! He is persona non grata. His own party won't even speak of him. That speaks volumes.
Good! No more Bush!!
G.H. W. Bush was a reasonable man. G.W. Bush, if you will, "queered the pitch" for The Bush Dynasty. Even so, Jeb Bush would have been a much more formidable and and warmly rec'id. candidate "con cojones" than that sorry ass crook that is "being rented" by the Religious Right, The Tea Party, and now the Birthers.
This "coalition of single issue voter, plus the garden variety racists' in the remaining 2 months cannot help the the aid od purchased massive media buys.....but to help Obama look better when compared to Romney and the sorry azz phucks that 'RENTED HIM.'
Obama is not perfect, but he has balls, and sometimes that is enough....when your adversary is a 'hird man with no balls."
No predictions, but I think that Obama will win as Romney and his handlers have alienated too many voters and failed to attract enough to balance the damage.
LTC Rattus, USA, ret.
Thank you for your service.
If I may, Romney's economic policies are similar to the strategies of the "generals who are fighting the last war, instead of the one they are facing."
His success depended on an obsolete business model of mass consumption, based on a service economy, whose low wages and benefits were fabricated by either irresponsible credit and/or overvalued domestic assets. The latter made billionaires in the financial services; the former gave a declining middle class the illusion of material progress.
Simply cutting more taxes and deregulating again will not solve the problem. To do that, we must focus on the renewal of infrastructure in everything from bridges and roads to education and healthcare, toward strengthing a broad middle class, based on high value added manufactured products for export and better balanced trade.
Romney will only protect those whose success was gained from an obsolete, and now harmful, status quo.
It's kind of ironic because the conservative approach to business (AKA outsourcing) has pretty much made it impossible for the economy to recover on its own. Tax cuts may have worked in a non-global economy, but instead of reinvesting money back in domestic business, corporations are reinvesting their money where it is cheaper--China and India. Thus, it will take some government intervention for the American economy to recover. At the very least a carrot-stick approach to reward companies for keeping manufacturing in the US while punishing companies who outsource everything but the profits.
Stone 6,
Thank you for the kind words. Your post is something that I agree with on all points.
V/r, Rat
Obama is ruining this country. Devisive. Class warfare. People are stupid enough to think that wealth will be redistributed and they , after accomplishing nothing, will have a big pile of money. They think the healthcare reform some how is free.
So stone 6 , you paying?
The Clinton surplus to deficit did not happen on Obama's watch, nor did the financial crisis and mortgage meltdown. Once and for all people, get it through your heads, this is what happens when you let Wall Street and big business run wild. ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY!! We have had 8 years of trickle down top down economics, 8 years of wars. IT DOESN'T WORK!!
Some people aren't appreciated until they're gone. The Bush's are gone from the White House and we appreciate it.
Jeb: You don't need to run. Your family has already done enough damage to this country.
Well said, and so very true!!!
“I'm not there yet in my life,”
Lets all hope he never arrives there .
Another " Bush " in the White House?
Boy, that's an Idea.
I guess we didn't have enough with the previous 2 " Dynasty " members huh?
So we should elect a 3rd one this time, to " Finish " the Job!
Kinda wonder why Don Quijote and Sancho Panza ( WH and Dick Cheney ) weren't invited to speak at the convention in Tampa this time around.
This is not news. Mr. Jeb Bush has previously been on the record as such.
This is just whipping up the the blame-Bush folks and supply another "shiny object" on MSNBC.
Yea, just whipping up blame since they were so "great" at their job. Keep excusing GW if lies make you feel better.
Linda
I don't "blame" Mr. Bush for the financial collapse. I've learned that the housing bubble, lack of derivative regulation, and the de-regulation of banking had been issues beginning prior to the GW years. Both parties bear responsibility for the crisis; both for government involvement through GSE's in housing and poor government oversight of banking practices.
In the meantime, can you tell me exactly how President Obama's policies are different from President Bush's?
The finiancial crisis was not only the housing bubble.. Rumsfelds DOD was missing 2.3 trillion their first year... The day before 9/11 he held a news conference and explained that they had no idea where it was.
That is Trillion.... It is difficult even for the upper politicians to forget where that much money goes.. The next day was 9/11 and it was backshelved and never explained ..... The congressional inquiry in July 2001 Rumsfeld clearly states that an outside party would need to come in to find it... Never happened. The greatest robbery of all time or the greatest bafoons of all time....
Well, you should!

Republicans in general and George W. Bush in particular are responsible for the entire mortgage meltdown! The last thing this country needs is Republicans back in power to do it all again!
Your as dense as depleted uranium if you actually believe that a down payment help program had anything to do with the melt-down involving sub primes.
A subprime mortgage is a type of loan granted to individuals with poor credit histories (often below 600), who, as a result of their deficient credit ratings, would not be able to qualify for conventional mortgages. Because subprime borrowers present a higher risk for lenders, subprime mortgages charge interest rates above the prime lending rate.

ADDI funds may be used for downpayment, closing costs and, if necessary, rehabilitation in conjunction with a home purchase. ADDI funds used for rehabilitation may not exceed twenty percent of the participating jurisdiction's total ADDI allocation. The rehabilitation assisted with ADDI funds must be completed within one year of the home purchase.
Funding Status
Congress appropriated ADDI funding for fiscal years 2003-2008.
FY2008 - $10,000,000
FY2007 - $24,750,000
FY2006 - $24,750,000
FY2005 - $49,600,000
FY2004 - $86,933,113
FY2003 - $74,457,526
How does that translate to the cause of the second largest financial crisis in history? It does'nt. It in no way was a mechanism as the root cause of the melt-down. The housing bubble burst and toxic assets including sub primes absolutely where.
You have no clue what a sub prime is? Do you?
M.J. Perhaps you are the only logical person here. The rest do not read history..
Why, yes, yes I do.
A bipartisan Congressional report by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on the subprime mortgage crisis released in 2009 (summary here: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=32615):
• Lower down-payments led to housing prices that outpaced income growth: Once government-sponsored efforts to decrease down payments spread to the wider market, home prices became increasingly untethered from any kind of demand limited by borrowers' ability to pay. Instead, borrowers could just make smaller down payments and take on higher debt, allowing home prices to continue their unrestrained rise. (p. 11)
• Members of an "affordable housing" coalition shared profits with political allies to help legitimize their business practices: Fannie Mae created and used The Fannie Mae Foundation to spread millions of dollars around to politically-connected organizations like the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. It also hired well-known academics to give an aura of academic rigor to policy positions favorable to Fannie Mae. (p.7)
• The Government Sponsored Enterprises led the way into the housing crisis: Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were leaders in risky mortgage lending. According to an analysis presented to the Committee, between 2002 and 2007, Fannie and Freddie purchased $1.9 trillion of mortgages made to borrowers with credit scores below 660, one of the definitions of "subprime" used by federal banking regulators. This represents over 54% of all such mortgages purchased during those years. (p.24)
And you can thank George W. Bush, along with the Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, for all of this!
Well, Jeb Bush will not tell us his disdain for personal political jobs while his mother and father are alive. It seems that it is their dream but not that of their sons. George W. isn't really interested in being on stage. There is a insider and former partner of G. W. that that branch of the party is grooming for the president's office. That is, Gov. Rick Scott. The hope is that Scott can continue to avoid his responsibility for the 2.7 BILLION DOLLAR fraud of Hospital Corporation of America which was under his management as CEO. However, if Romney can get away with a retroactive resignation as CEO of Bain Capital, it should also apply to Scott as CEO. While Jeb Bush would be the choice of this branch of the Rebublican party, they have others in the wings.
Thank God! I hope we never have another shrub.
Hopefully. We will not have an Obama second term.
This country will never be ready for baby shrub to be in a federal position. It was bad enough what he did to Florida, and how his machinations helped big bro steal the FL election in 2000, resulting in our economy running into the ditch, which we still haven't recovered from, thanks to the gopers obstruction to anything that President Obama does, whether it was originally a goper idea or not.
Never before have our elected officials been so willing to throw the United States and her people under the bus, all in the hopes of getting rid of the sitting President.
Let's not forget how the U.S. credit rating was lowered due to the games being played by those voted in to office. They made their point, at great expense to the American people. And really, what was their point? That our spending is out of control? So let's solve the problem by reducing taxes for the richest people, instead of addressing the problem from all directions. That would include increasing taxes on the richest, and reducing the spending. Just doing one of those will not solve the problem. We all need to make sacrifices if our country is going to get out of the ditch that the shrubs, and darth cheney, drove us into.
I hate to say this but I'm bushed........
Hopefully you'll never get there Jeb, last thing we need is another Bush in the White House. Your brother caused enough problems and embarrassment to last three lifetimes.
BTW Jeb you're putting on a few pounds might try exercising
You need to exercise your brain. Stop listening to one news source.
Says the Faux Noise Princess...
Don't watch Fox. Usually NBC or CNN. Read WaPo, wsj and a local paper. Bet you don't read anything other than msnbc. Registered Independent who voted for Obama but will not again.
Why is Jeb Bush getting any time on national TV? He has no interest in the 2012 election! It looks more and more like David Gregory is promoting the GOP candidates. WTF!?
Gregory must go! Bring on someone like our beloved Tim Russart who wasn't afraid to ask real questions of both sides!
I stopped watching Meet The Press after David Gregory took over. Yes he is a Rep plant.
MEET THE MESS
From the Article above:
Good call, Jeb. That's the BEST thing a Bush can do for America. Stay AWAY!
BTW, anyone remember the "Zeppo" of the Bush Family, Neil Bush?

Tim Russert is missed dearly. David, you are no Tim Russert. Roger Ailes wants you David.
Salud.
God I loved Tim but he obviously was a tool for the Dems. Turnabout is fair play.
Hey, Jeb Bush, PLEASE, PLEASE make your bid for the WH. That would guarantee that the other party would get elected, GUARANTEED... So you have my full support to run for POTUS, LOL (my shoulders are going up and down).
Just for the record...I do not want to see him as VP either...one shotgun away from the President...remember Chaney and his trigger finger.
