Republican convention will feature tribute to Ron Paul

The Republican National Convention will pay tribute to Texas Rep. Ron Paul during the second night of its convention.

Romney campaign adviser Russ Schriefer told reporters on Friday that the Romney campaign had assented to requests by Paul supporters to air a "short" film paying tribute to the retiring Texas congressman, who's attracted a devoted following in his two bids for the GOP presidential nomination.

The film — along with a speaking slot Monday for the congressman's son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul — is a nod toward the influence of Ron Paul, whose supporters, convention organizers have worried, might stir a small commotion during the roll call vote to nominate Romney.

Richard Clement / Reuters

Rep. Ron Paul

Schriefer confirmed that convention delegates would vote to formally nominate Romney for president on Monday; the presumptive Republican nominee would become the official Republican nominee on Thursday night, when he accepts the nomination. (At this point, Romney would be able to access and spend funds he has raised for use in the general election campaign.)

Top Talkers: The Cycle host joins the Morning Joe panel to talk about the upcoming speeches at the Republican National Convention and to explain why Mitt Romney "needs a moment where he looks presidential"  to excite the base and have them rally around him. The panel also discusses the possibility of Romney receiving the nomination early.

Television networks have signaled that they will only broadcast three nights of coverage, raising the possibility that Monday's festivities — including a planned speech by Ann Romney — would be missed by a national audience. Schriefer wouldn't shoot down rumors that the Romney campaign might move Ann Romney's speech if the networks don't extend their coverage plans.

"I'm optimistic that the right thing will be done," he said.

Other features of the convention include plans to feature fellow members of Romney's Mormon church, and 15 Olympians — meant to highlight Romney's widely acclaimed tenure as head of the Salt Lake City Olympics. Three Olympians will speak, most prominently Mike Eruzione, the captain of the 1980 U.S. "Miracle on Ice" Olympic hockey team.

Organizers are pushing ahead with planning despite warnings of a major storm turning toward Tampa, the site of the convention. Schriefer boasted in particular of the modern backdrop onstage of speakers, which he described as a "Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired piece of architecture."

Romney will do whatever it takes to keep the Libertarians in line. It sure would be an embarrassment to watch Ron Paul walk out.

Ron,

He is a politician just like Obama.

Obama, evolved to Gay Marriage, to do what?

Obama changed his mind on immigration, to do what?

And Obama changed to run a dirty Campaigned to do what? Because he can't run on the economy.

It is a free Country and Ron Paul can do what he wants. Just keep in mind that Libertarians do not want a big government and have young voters also.

The RNC is trying to keep Maine's 20 Ron Paul supporters from being seated at the convention. It is beyond me why the Romney people are so threatened by a bunch of Down East Libertarians, but here it is.

"They're saying the convention wasn't properly run, that we didn't follow up on procedures," he said. "That's complete opposite of what happened. We held a proper convention. I think this decision is just a political decision because we don't support the right candidate."

They will gloss over the fact that Ron Paul still thinks Romneycare was not the right answer. They'll put up a fake tribute to him, but no way in hell they'd let the man speak. No friggin' way.

Libertarians claim to not want big government, then why did Paul sign the person-hood pledge to take rights away from women and move the government into your bedroom and between you and your doctor?

That's right even the libertarians want to make women into second class citizens.

Men like Limpy who think you have to take a birth control pill every time you have sex to not get pregnant and men like Ryan who think that women don't get pregnant during legitimate rape are the men that want to be in control of your body.

Don't women deserve to be first class citizens too, just like a free man can make decisions about his own body?

Ursula: if you want to talk about the great appeaser:

Television networks have signaled that they will only broadcast three nights of coverage, raising the possibility that Monday's festivities — including a planned speech by Ann Romney — would be missed by a national audience. Schriefer wouldn't shoot down rumors that the Romney campaign might move Ann Romney's speech if the networks don't extend their coverage plans.

"I'm optimistic that the right thing will be done," he said.

We can't have Queen Ann not have her moment in the spot light, broadcast live on all the networks and Fox.

What the GOP is really afraid of is that the delegates who are Ron Paul supporters, although nominally they are supposed to vote for Mitt Romney, will stage a protest and NOT vote for Mitt Romney on the first ballot. That would open the convention up to a floor fight for delegates which Mitt Romney might actually lose.

Aside from the entertainment value that would provide the people who actually think before voting, such an action would let the rest of the GOP supporters know that they don't have to be in lock step with the Teavangelical Rethuglican part of the GOP. It would give moderates an inroad to take back the Grand Old Party from the far right wing nut cases. The Paul Ryans, Michelle Bachmans and Mitt Romneys of the GOP would rather not have people using their brains to think.

Romney ran the dirtiest primary and is still running Lies about Medicare and "you didn't built that". every fool out there running those " we did built that" has taken funds from the government.

Independent fact checkers have said this line of attack is dishonest

The Daily Dolt noted on Wednesday that part of the GOP message may be undermined by the fact that the Tampa Bay Times Forum arena — where the convention is being held — was financed with $86 million in public money.

The guy in the ad claiming he built his business with his hands also got government money

Also, Romney will never evolve towards the 21st century in regards to civil rights for the LBGT community. He can't even give a straight answer on abortion or Todd Akin. In fact "MYTH" would even allow the press to ask questions about them.

The selective hearing applies to both the left and right. And even when people aren't "in denial" about what is going on (whether journalists or otherwise), Democrats defend Obama's abuse of power, just like Republicans defended Bush's. He mocks the gun laws in Chicago and New York, but fails to point out that most of the guns captured in crimes in the major cities can be traced back to states with lax gun laws.

The republican party is fractured in many respects, and Romney just can't pretend to be what each group wants, not after bailing out on Akin, and not after the RNC stated that he does not represent the party platform. It will be close, but I am still betting there is no way Romney gets the 270 electoral votes he needs, his party is just not that excited by him.He has also got a huge problem with his tax returns and he knows it he is still trying to spin a good reason why he will not show them, but the bottom-line is that until he does no excuse will do, because everybody knows what it means when you "take the fifth". If he did not feel they would be politically devastating to him he would have shown them by now. That issue will not go away and when it is time for the debates he will twist in the wind with lame excuses why he is not willing to show the American people the tax returns they have come to expect of their candidates for president. The debates are going to be brutal for Romney, he has far to many self contradictions to reconcile, in any sensible way. Romney is phony, even his own party knows it, the hard core Obama haters will accept phony, the general electorate will not.

Beverly: I am confused. The gov didn't build the building but the taxpayers did? What cracks me up is that many look at the gov as some big ape or something over at the sideline when if they themselves work for the state, fed, county, schools, etc. they are part of the government. There is no part of our government that is not a citizen of our country. Every rule that was ever made was not made by a space alien or some unknown entity. I wish instead of referring to the gov, people would say "we the people". The gov does not have a mind of its own although I wish there would be one central agency who oversaw all of the agencies. Maybe there should be an oversight committee with a rep from the sup court, congress and the vp. The problem we have is usually noone keeps certain agencies in control except for on occasions when they get too carried away with what they are doing. I for one do not think a political party should be using taxpayer dollars for anything. They are rolling in dough so they should use it for that instead of stirring up trouble and creating mischief. Btw I remember clearly the republicans praying for rain on the Democratic convention in 2008. I thought it was contemptable then. The Dem convention was fine. However, the republican one had to postpone some events due to rain from a hurricane even though the hurricane was in the gulf and they were in Minnesota. I am wondering if God remembers those prayers and are repaying them doubly? I predict the Democrat convention will be sunny and bright and Hurricane Isaac will visitthe convention in Tampa. Be careful what you pray for you might get it! Back then I was appalled that Christians would pray for rain on a convention. Christians don't do that. But since then that is very very minor to what those "Christians" have been up to since then. I am beyond appalled. I am down to well God you handle it. It seems to be beyond us. Lies upon lies upon lies affect peoples attitudes and when I talk to some republicans it is very apparent that that is what has happened. 99% of it is pure unadulterated malicious garbage.

Bruce. Sorry to inform you but the convention won't be in Miami. It is in Tampa right in the path of Hurricane Isaac. Someone asked dufus what about the hurricane and he said just as long as we can get to the airport. That is comparable to the statement that Palin made about what does a vp do anyway. I have never been in a hurricane. But family members have and I watch tv and see destruction. Anyone with only half a brain or less should know that usually paths of hurricanes are predicted but they have been known to be going one direction and then turn and go another. They don't know the force of the hurricane. It can gain strength as it goes over water or lose strength over land. They don't really know exactly where the hurricane will go. So Romneys only concern is getting to the airport. That is like the statement of if you don't have money for college borrow it from your parents. And he wasn't joking. He doesn't know I guess why that statement was stupid. Just the airport statement. At least Biden had the good sense to postpone his trip since it was in the hurricane path too. It will be interesting. I will be watching the hurricane and what it does rather than the phone baloney produced at the convention. With all that vitriole and hotair in there who knows what will happen to those buildings separate from the hurricane! For republicans I think you reap what you sow and you can't always determine what it will be that you sow.

I think Chuckles (Ron Paul) is great and courageous on foreign policy and civil liberties issues but a wack job on economic/domestic spending matters.

Belief in the "free-market" is like belief in the tooth fairy or Santa Claus as far as I'm concerned.

And, I read your comments and you make a lot of really good points with good common sense. Too bad most of the folks here won't or can't comprehend what you have to share.

        A note of gratitude.

I'd like to first thank the broadcasters who have decided to only broadcast 3 nights of this offshoot of the Ringling Brothers Circus event.

The GOP may move Ann's speaking engagement to another night? Who the hell cares what the little finger wagging princess has to say?

Both conventions are merely propaganda tools. This election will be decided by the debates. You know the CEO (or so he would have you believe) vs the CIC. (the guy who has to make the tough calls when American lives are at stake). Remember the last "businessman" we had as CIC had a MBA from HAAAVAAD! Didn't work out to well for America now did it!

So we got the glorified pawnbroker who buys and sells companies vs. the community organizer.

Riddle me this connies: If your so sold on a businessman running the country then name the members of YOUR current leadership in Congress that have ever run a company or small business. You know McConnell, Cantor, Boehner..Come on now you can do it. And your bonus question: How does running a business equate to running the country. Just askin?

        Blame Bush chorus in 3-2-1.

        Intellectual Godfather

        From the article above:

Romney campaign adviser Russ Schriefer told reporters on Friday that the Romney campaign had assented to requests by Paul supporters to air a "short" film paying tribute to the retiring Texas congressman, who's attracted a devoted following in his two bids for the GOP presidential nomination.

A fitting tribute for the Texas congressman..... from Pittsburgh.

        Courtesy of Wikipedia:

Paul has been characterized as the "intellectual godfather" of the Tea Party movement, however since the movement's beginnings as a non-partisan protest against wasteful government spending, many prominent Republican Pundits and Strategists began to adopt the label.

And after cake and punch is served, the hateful, relentless bashing of President Obama will continue.

I'm calling this the "Tampa Temper-Tantrum".

Speaking of the Olympics, I saw a quote on an earlier post attributed to Romney that I couldn't believe. I 'Googled" it, went to the website below, and watched a video of the opening ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics where Mitt Romney actually said:

You Olympians, however, know you didn’t get here solely on your own power. For most of you, loving parents, sisters or brothers, encouraged your hopes, coaches guided, communities built venues in order to organize competitions. All Olympians stand on the shoulders of those who lifted them. We’ve already cheered the Olympians, let’s also cheer the parents, coaches, and communities.

        //thinkprogress.org/election/2012/07/23/565491/romney-to-olympians-you-didnt-get-here-solely-on-your-own/

I am amazed at the depths of his hypocrisy.....how could anyone argue that this is any different than what President Obama said!

The Tampa Temper Tantrum, Ha that's good Tomas, look at this blog today there is nothing on here about how good Romney is not one post, just about how bad Obama is. The desperation on the part of republicans is palpable, they are even going back to then birther nonsense. Romney as a candidate has got nothing, nothing to sell other than he is not Obama, but that is not enough. In the end this is why Obama will be re-elected, they have hammered on him constantly for three and a half years and spent a billion dollars on negative adds and Romney still trails. They have said everything they can possibly say over and over and over, to the point of it now just comes off as rabid republican blather. The boy calling wolf, over and over again nobody but the republican base even hears it anymore, and the great news is you cannot win a general presidential election with just the republican base. The Romney campaign, the RNC, and republicans in general are dazed and confused.

Spanky: It is the Republican Party which approved a provision for their platform to ban abortion in ALL cases.

It is the Republican members of Congress that have attempted many times in the last two years to ban abortions and put in "personhood" amendments to the constitution.

It is the Republican party which is more interested in Transvaginal Ultra-sounds than in creating one single jobs bill.

As a life long musician myself, I have to believe that Mittens singing in public will cause him to lose the musician vote.

Why did the GOP nominate such a complete tool? You would think they would have learned from their mistake in 2000. At least the retarded one had a personality that a few people could like. Not even the Republicans actually like this tool.

Yes do show off Ron Paul the freedom guy who has also signed the person-hood pledge to get rid of Roe v Wade.

The republican party all for freedom and individual rights only if you are a man.

I find it hard to believe that any woman is stupid enough to vote for any republican to make herself into a second class citizen with the government in charge of her body just like in China.

And to think they gloat about Rand Paul being a doctor, the one thing they never want to mention or discuss? He is not a board certified physician, I guess some people don't care who operates on their eyes, but for me and my sight (as well as the rest of my body parts), I would never let a "doc in the box" perform surgery on me.

Union Baby - do you have any idea what being board certified means?

Let me go ahead an answer that - you clearly do not.

Do me a solid - call your your doctor and ask if he/she is board certified, and if so, in what specialty.

Union Baby, try not to make such blatantly silly statements about subjects you know nothing about.

Or at least look up what board certification means [and does not mean].

            Bob dear,

Facts:1. The GOP platform includes a constitional amemendment against abortion for any woman including rape and incest.

            2. Ryan cosponsored with Akin a a bill against providing abortion for any"forcible" rape.

            3. In October 2011, Romney meet privately with the stupid doctor that Akins quoted about women. Romney thanked him for his support .

            Futher more:

I stood outside the auditorium the day of Senator and Mrs Wellstone memorial service.

The speaker who got carried away was a close personal friend of the Wellstones.

Their deaths along with a young campaign worker was a huge tradgedy. Grief takes all kinds of forms.

Union Baby - my guess is you KNOW that a board certified physician has passed the examination given by a medical specialty group that makes them specialists in a specific area - such as Oncology; Ophthalmology, etc. Don't know why Spanky thinks he is the only one who knows anything!

Union Baby - do you have any idea what being board certified means?

The question is, Spankers, do you know what it means?

Dr. Rand Paul became a certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1995. While being board certified is not required to practice medicine, if you want to do things like participate with an HMO or see a patient in a hospital you should be board certified.

To be board certified, you have to have gone through an accredited residency or fellowship program in a given field. Once you have practiced for a certain amount of time in the field, you are tested (usually both a written and an oral exam). If you pass, you are board certified.

Now, the American Board of Ophthalmology is part of a larger organization called the American Board of Medical Specialties. Starting back in the '80s, the ABMS member boards decided that it was necessary to ensure that physicians were keeping up on latest procedures and diagnoses so they made a requirement that physicians become recertified every few years (in the case of the American Board of Ophthalmology, 10 years).

The thing is, Dr. Paul didn't like those rules. So, he went out and formed his own board, the National Board of Ophthalmology. He then let his American Board of Ophthalmology certification expire.

Now, this may not matter as Dr. Paul may at best be running a limited practice since he was elected to the Senate, but if he were to leave Congress and go back to being just "Dr. Paul", unless he goes back and regains his American Board of Ophthalmology certificate, he does not, in the opinion of HMOs and hospitals, get to call himself "board certified" as they will not recognize his own, self-generated certification.

(a lot of this stuff is public information)

I sure do Noid. Over the last 20 years I have deposed and defended 100's of doctors. Many were board certified [ I only retain board certified docs as experts] and many of whom were not.

The point being that Union has no idea, but is out with the hate.

Say what you will about Paul, but he's a smart guy.

Hard to see how you can be a Libertarian and support Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan (who called Romney's plan for outlawing abortion, except in cases of incest, rape or for the health of the mother "a step in the right direction.")

LOL @ AMERICANS First: the person hood pledge just keeps the Feds out of the state issue of abortion. States decide penalties (or lack thereof) for rape, murder, assault, robbery, etc. Abortion couldn't be handled by the state? It's amazing how pro-life Ron Paul: he is anti-war, doesn't believe in the death penalty but will leave it up to the states (end it at the fed level), and the same with abortion - leave it to the states. I guess Obama is all around anti-life? Also, you know some of those abortions kill off viable baby girls, so I guess your anti-women yourself. Oh and learn history about roe v wade. It was all about Texas and how Texas would only allow abortions for – ready for this – rape, incest, and the life of the mother is threatened. Yup apparently roe v wade was unnecessary.

No. Romney/Ryan aren't for "leaving it up to the states." They are in favor of outlawing abortion, regardless of the circumstances under which a woman finds herself. Romney has kow towed to "except for rape, incest or he health of the mother," for the sake of politics. Ryan calls that "a step in the right direction." In other words, the correct destination is a complete ban.

PAUL: They may be, but the way this is taken care of in our country, it is not a national issue. This is a state issue. And there are circumstances where doctors in the past have used certain day-after pills for somebody with rape. And, quite frankly, if somebody is treated, you don't even know if a person is pregnant; if it's 24 hours after rape, I don't know how you're going to police it. We have too many laws already. Now, how are you going to police the day-after pill? Nobody can out-do me on respect for life. I've spent a lifetime dealing with life. But I still think there is a time where the law doesn't solve the problems. Only the moral character of the people will eventually solve this problem, not the law.

I think most Libertarians would rather see Romney win than another 4 years of Obama. This country is going in the hole 4 billion $'s a day. Obamas plan to tax the wealthy will pay for roughly 5 weeks of this deficit spending meaning we will still be in the hole for 47 weeks of the year. Does anyone really think that Obamas taxes on the wealthy will go toward the debt/deficit?. No..all we hear is that the republicans and tea party hate women and gays and the elderly and the poor and baby animals and the environment. We all want a healthy environment for future generations. Why not a healthy financial environment as well. Lets not put a huge burden on our kids and grandkids for the mounting debt we have racked up. Bread eaten is soon forgotten.

Romney, of course, is a control freak and these conventions nowadays tend to be thoroughly scripted, BUT this year's GOP convention will have a lot of loose cannons roaming the floor. That's one reason why the GOP has scheduled the actual vote for the first day of the convention--to get the Romney candidacy set. But who knows what the Ron Paul people might be planning in the backrooms and shadows. And then, there's Isaac, set to hit Tampa Monday morning. Not what the Romney folks want, a delay in the vote.

Taking ownership of the country's problems means taking control and accountability for the current situation and all you may have inherited. Not once have i heard Obama say....I own the problem and don't care who's fault it is. We just need to fix the problems that we were elected to solve. All he knows is...it is Bushes fault.

Unfortunately most of it falls on deaf ears. They can't stop blaming Bush to see that Obama has had almost 4 years to to try to help the country and all he has done is screw it up. They need to get the wax out of their ears, smoke out of their eyes, and the teat out of their mouth. Obama sucks!

Romney won't even take responsibility for releasing his tax returns to prove he is the kind of businessman he claims to be.

Then Ryan would have you believe that his staff went behind his back and wrote and asked for stimulus money against his wishes. Yes republicans taking full responsibility just like you wanted.

If bush was so successful you tell me how we went from a surplus paying down our debt and low unemployment to in just 8 years of bush to the recession, bleeding millions of jobs and the largest deficit in our history?

I think it is Ryan's fault, he voted for every policy that has brought America to her knees. Ryan even voted for the military cuts he is now trying to blame on anyone else.

Just when are the republicans going to take responsibility for what they have done to our country?

Hey hanko- you do realize that it is Congress's job to produce a budget and propose jobs bills, right?

Obama would have gotten alot more done without a congress and minority senate that wasn't obstructing everything he proposed, even when it was originally a Republican idea ( Mandate, Cap and Trade). the Republican politicians should be ashamed of themselves for putting the good of the Republican Party ahead of the people who elected them to office.

The Libertarian platform now is much closer to what the Republican plantform used to be. But the Republicans now love entitlements, pay it with debt spending, and the banksters.

Anyways I will be writing in Ron Paul.

Xabre...This is really a spending issue, not a tax issue. Gov't waste and duplicity is driving the debt...not a lack of taxes. Reagan proved that tax cuts drive the economy, but real tax reform is needed. I am all for cutting off tax subsidies for many businesses who don't need it. I really like Obamas plan for tax reform. Oh wait...he doesn't have one...just raise taxes.

Reagan proved tax cuts also drive the deficit. Just look at the debt after Reaganomics was instituted. Surplus or Deficit = Revenue (taxes) - Spending. You cut your revenue and the deficit will increase. Romney is proposing over $600B more tax cuts, but only $300B in spending cuts. Using simple math, tell me what that does to the current deficit.

Actually, it is corporate welfare, global welfare, and the WAR that is causing the dramatic rise in debt. Helping our own is NOT the problem. Romney has no plan but to give himself and his buddies tax breaks while the remaining remnants of a wroking class, get to foot the rest. Nice try Hanko!

Yeah, that is why after he cut taxes his first year, he then raised taxes 11 times during his administration

What he found out was tax cuts do not create jobs, does not lower the debt and creates deficits. Reagan increased the national debt 189% in 8 years.

Ron Paul is the only true candidate to run this country. He believes in the same America that the forefathers gave us. He is not money hungry or greedy. He does not care for power. He just wants this country back on track. He does not want politicians changing our basic rights. The Constitution is one of the best in this world. But people want to get rid of it because it stands in their way, when they want to crush the citizens rights. George
Bush and Obama both tried to dismantle it. Plus Bush said, "the Geneva Convention is out of date." America drew up the Geneva Convention document. It is a blue print on how wars are to be conducted. How to treat others who are captured. And that all humans have the same basic right to be treated fairly.

He also wants to go back to the gold standard, where there isn't enough gold in the entire world to back the size of the US economy. He also thinks the Interstate Highway System is unconstitutional. He also wants to abolish the FDA, because as a doctor he has seen that agency has done absolutely no good whatsoever.

I also predicted the financial collapse does that make me presidential material? I moved my 401K money and was the only person in the office that didn't lose half my retirement savings.

Ron Paul signed the person-hood pledge to take rights away from women. Paul like the rest of the republicans think women are too stupid to decide about her own body, we need men like Paul to tell us what to do.

When I bought my house in 1991, I went with a small local bank who still holds my loan. Even in my small town I have heard nightmare stories about the local Bank of America who can't seem to find the paperwork on their homes.

To be honest, I have seen changes in Paul's platform that begin to look an aweful lot like that of the republican party. It is not to hard to think that the Retardlican Party uses Paul as a means to distract the voters early on to ensure that the intended candidate is chosen in the end. I was a supporter of Paul, but saw some flip flopping on his website this year. I am afraid he nothing more than a ruse to distract and that is why the teabaggers are "paying tribute."

Like all of the hype on this site, the people are being distracted from what is going on. These issues that are pure politics, such as abortion, gay marriage, voter ID amendments, taxes, are all just small potatoes in the big picture. A people that are polarized are easy to manipulate and and then control through the things that are getting done. There have been many bills enacted since Bush, and now Obama, that are designed to restrict freedom and ultimately create a dictatorship for the NAU. Think about it. While we are bickering over small crap, we have seen Bush sign us into the same type of Pact that led to the European Union without consent by Congress. Then, due to a false flag attack and a never ending war with a never ending "enemy," we saw the Constitution become null and void with the Homeland Security Act and Patriot Act. These things have set up for Obama. Obama takes office and the country is battling over health care reform that IS the republican bill in it's entirety, except the part the Corporate party does not want such as anything that makes big insurance have to pay out money. However, the NDAA is signed which houses a small portion that allows the President to assume dictatorial powers and to declare war on the shores of the U.S. initiating martial Law! This is what is happenig while you all bicker over little tiny crap. This is how evil men win!

So, a true American Patriot would be appalled to hear that our legislators are trying to repeal the 17th amendment that creates a slippery slope to loss of voting rights in America. Thier reasoning? We are just plain too stupid to vote right. Anyone actually listening? A true Patriot would be sickened by those with more than enough whining and crying that they have to pay a fair and equal PERCENTAGE of tax. It is completely IMMORAL for people with enough to bitch about it not being enough, while a huge number of us are trying to make ends meet. A true Patriot would be apalled by the amount of money being borrowed to fight a war that has proven no evidence to justify this continued war on our credit cards. A true Patriot would be upset that our leaders and the Reds want to starve our own people while saying nothing about the much higher number of dollars being given to corporate and global welfare! There is no way to sugar coat this! It is just plain wrong for people with too much already, to complain to us trying to make it, that they simply want more.

Romney has been putting China to work for years now! A true Patriot would see that our Military, our politics, and our industry have combined to be our government! This is the definition of fascism! This is what the Nazi regime looked like! A true Patriot would be sickened by the events that have unfolded and disgusted by whiny ass rich people trying to take more for themselves. And, some even go as far as touting the Christian faith and how they are Christian. This is even more loathsome as it is blatant BLASPHEMY to claim such when what you tout is immoral. America does not have many true Patriots left. Globalism has destroyed our ecnomy along with the take over of corporations. Our supreme court is a joke, congress is null and void, and America is one false flag attack from martial law and despot control.

The little stuff we are arguing over simply allows these Eugenisists to continue to enact bills, create wars, move our jobs overseas, and instill martil law and control over the masses once you all wake up and realize what has happened. Be Patriots this year! Vote for the independents or write people in. It is when, and only when, we remove the problems from our government that America can become strong again. It is when we clear our houses and senates and whitehouses from the reds and blues. It is when we remove these justices who are bought and pad for. It is when we become Americans again, those with backbone, courage, and the demand for freedom and liberty that we shall ever experience prospertiy again. Until then, we will contineu to be polarized and the elite will continue to destroy us from within. Obama is a pawn. Romney is a pawn. Paul is a pawn. They come and go, but the evil that has ruined us stays there. We can defeat the enemy within! We can stand together and understand what morality is, be disgusted by immoral ideals, and defend ourselves from the tyranny we are witnessing. The last days of America are before us. This is the time to vote for anyone but a red or blue! Anyone is better than what we have been doing for 200 years now!

@Americans First - that's not saying much. Ron actually endorses the morning after pill plus he has advised any woman who is raped to go see their doctor and receive a shot of estrogen ASAP. Also, why shouldn't a unborn baby be considered a person? Yeah I hear the old argument that God is the biggest abortionist on the planet due to miscarriages, but I mean we all die don't we? If an abortionist can go around doing "Gods work" and kill babies that could survive outside the womb why can't I go around and kill people - we all die sometime right? Oh, and if Ron Paul is against women then I guess Obama is against Persians of all genders since, you know, he has no problem when his drones kill off Persian women and children in the ME. Ron is soooo much more evil than Obama *sarc*

After the republicans pass the person-hood bill, the morning after pill would be illegal.

Why would women become second class citizens for anybody? Putting the government in charge of your body is a slippery slope. If the government can make you carry a child against your will, just how is that freedom? China's government is in charge of women's bodies and make them have abortions. Would you call that freedom too?

Do you really feel safe with government in charge of your body instead of yourself? What kind of wimpy woman needs a man to tell her what to do with her body?

At least the democrats give me credit for having enough brains to decide about my own body. Whereas the republicans think women are so stupid they need a ultra-sound to find out they are pregnant when they come in for an abortion as if she didn't know already.

If women are not smart enough to decide about her own body, how long do you think the republicans will continue to let us stupid women vote?

Jay - your total ignorance is showing. According to you they should pile up all the dead men, women and children from Iraq and Afghanistan and put them in the RNC convention tent since the wars there were George Bush's - for this ego and for big oil!

@ avoid: Umm how is it not Obama's war? Are you not making an excuse to vote for BushBama? Obama with the stroke of the pen could bring all the troops home, which Ron Paul said he would do. I guess all that military industrial complex money is weighing on Obama's conscience. Sorry pal – Obama has blood on his hands. He’s lied to you libs about his foreign policy in 2008. He replaced troops in Iraq to only hire more and more contractors. He’s expanded our drone war to Libya and soon we’ll be attacking Syria. And make no mistake Obama will get off on attacking Iran. Stop making excuses for this guy.

Make that TCL....typical conservative logic......which obviously does not exist if we take your last comment at face value. One does not stop a war (aka bushs' folly)with the stroke of a pen....

@sbstarlite - what's your excuse: it's okay for Obama to kill innocent persians since he's not GW? Yeah, thats a Obama lover for you.

If that is the case.....why didn't your hero g.w. get out his pen and stop the war he created even after admitting it was based on faulty information? That's a non logical bush lover for you

Not a lib here brother! I am the real deal. It is Bush's War. Obama was not in office when this began, and no, Ron Paul would not bring our troops home! No president will. Congress could bring them home. We could have never entered this fake war to begin with. All presidents have blood on their hands as each sells their souls to the devil for power! Paul is a Republican now, true and red like his brothers. Read my post if you want to know who I am. Don't act like I am a lib. Both of you disgust me.
