“While the GOP prepares to officially embrace Mitt Romney as its presidential nominee next week, President Obama is focusing his attention on courting young voters that the campaign believes can help push him over the top in three battleground states,” USA Today writes. “Obama will campaign at three college campuses on Tuesday and Wednesday — the second and third days of the Republican National Convention— as he looks to energize young voters in Colorado, Iowa and Virginia.”
“A Texas county judge who declared the country could dissolve into “civil war” if President Barack Obama is re-elected this fall is facing backlash from Democrats who are demanding he resign,” the New York Daily News writes. “But Judge Tom Head, a Republican from Lubbock County, tried to squelch the flames Wednesday, saying his comments were taken out of context.”

Are republicans ever in context? We know their out of focus.
Obama can tell the college people 31,000 jobs were added in July in food service at $8.72 per hour which was good news for the 1.6 million new college graduates who will be living at home with their parents if they are one of the lucky ones who get one of those jobs. The lucky ones can save for a few months for first and last months rent and damage deposit so they can get out on their own.
Unfortunately the college people now will have 1.6 million new illegal immigrants with work permits authorized by Obama by executive order who also will be competing with them for one of the few available food service jobs.
"Taken out of context..." Sure - that context being his MOUTH!
Remember, Republicans threatened Civil War in 1996 if Clinton was re-elected.
They claimed Waco was evidence of Clinton's intentions.
Republicans can't stand the fact Clinton raised taxes on the wealthy and it resulted in a budget surplus.
Debbie-525743
and the best example of it is the Republican fight to keep the FAILED Bush tax cuts.
The younger voters are already leaning to getting on the Romney train. Not in droves, but in significant enough numbers that even Mr. Obama himself sees he had better do something quick. They are not liking the economy and the Hope and Change they wanted in 2008 didn't come quick enough for the "right here right now" generation.
Yeah, in your dreams, sure they are. The Young people know how bad Willard Romney is like "if you want to be successful, if you want to go to college or start a business, you can just ‘borrow money if you have to from your parents.’”
Young old and everyone in between Job1.
Not looking good for the worst in history.
If Romney is elected, how much you want to bet the focus of the Tea Party will suddenly become pro-big government? Libertarian will mean "one who espouses government regulation of women's healthcare." Libertarian will mean "one who thinks letting gay couples marry threatens the social fabric." But it will still mean "corporations have the right to endanger our climate, because, Mother Earth could, after all, have prevented global warming if her rape was 'legitimate.'"
This judge's comment was in context, although he hesitated as he said it. It's likely it reflects what many in his town are also saying and he is hearing. This is the ugly undertone of this Presidential campaign. The FEAR tactics of the Republicans is working with their base. Hopefully, the undecided voters won't fall victim to the Republican LIE machine, and instead will be appalled at its audacity and dishonesty.
Obama supporters need to work to educate these voters about the issues and problems we face, because we will certainly be outspent by Romney and his billionaire buddies as they try to spread their LIES and distortions on the TV and Radio.
Conservatives and Libertarians on this thread: The election of Romney is under control. Do not be distracted by the left. Obama one and done just like Carter yet worse. The important issue is the Senate! We must repeal Obamacare before 2014 when it fully kicks in. It will become an entitlement bigger than Medicare or SS.
THe Courts bent over backwards to allow it to stand so it must be repealed by Congress! Concentrate on the Senate Races; Ryan and Romney are the common sense choice-trust the electorate
I heard what the Judge said himself, I was wondering "What makes you think the U.N. even gives crap about Lubbock?". Ive been there and there is nothing strategic about the place.
