Obama leads in Ohio, Florida, and Wisconsin in new Quinnipiac/CBS/New York Times polls, but the pick of Ryan helped cut into Obama’s lead in Wisconsin and make that a margin of error race.
Obama’s most statistically significant lead is in Ohio, where he’s up 50-44% among likely voters. There, Romney is a 39-45% net-negative favorability rating. In Florida, Obama’s up 49-46%, and Wisconsin just 49-47%. Voters were asked about how the Ryan pick impacted their decision. In Ohio and Florida, majorities said it made not difference, but in Wisconsin, while a plurality (45%) said it made no difference, more people said it did (31%) than it didn’t (22%). That was much wider than the 1-point difference seen in Ohio and Florida. The Ryan pick also doesn’t appear to have moved seniors in Florida, as Romney maintains a double-digit lead with the group in the state.
“Few likely voters are undecided in these battleground states, and nine in 10 say their minds are made up. Only one in 10 says they could change their minds about who to support,” CBS writes, but: “In all three of these battleground states, Republicans are more enthusiastic than Democrats about voting this year. Republican enthusiasm about voting has also risen from earlier this month.”
What’s driving Obama’s lead in Florida? Latinos. That’s a wider margin than he won them in 2008, 57-42%. And that was a 27-point swing from 2004, when George W. Bush WON Latinos in Florida, 56-44%.

Looks tight, maybe too close to call. Lets see if those Voter Disenfranchisement Laws, I mean "Voter Fraud" Laws really work...
Detroit-Storm
Voter Disenfranchisement Laws, I mean "Voter Fraud" Laws blah, blah, blah. What about the worst economy since the great depression?? Don't want to talk about that do you??
REB,
If you want to keep beating that drum like the Energizer Bunny, feel free. The economy is IMPROVING. It is not where most people would like, but it's better than where it was going. But other than saying "Obama sucks", I would like to hear some real plans. Not vagueness from Mitten and Paulie. How is anything they propose going to make things better? I want SPECIFICS, not some story about how giving the bankers of this world more money to spend on vacations will improve the economy. What's that you say? Obama doesn't have answers either? Actually he does. But regardless, he already has the job. Mitten and Wonderboy wouldn't get hired at BK if they were this vague in the interview.
Besides, the topic of this thread is polls, not the economy. Please try to stay on topic.
How many "clean" jobs bills have the GNOP put forth....wasn't it John of Orange Bohner mantra - Jobs Jobs Jobs.....instead we get 30 attempts to repeal ACA/Romneycare/Obamacare...How many Post Offices renames....Bills to make English the "official" language...4 day work weeks....permanent vacations or so it seems....guess they didn't have enough time to get around to those pesky "Jobs" Bills...
GNOP..they can't handle facts....THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
Where are the 1040's Mythe? WHAT are you hiding? Obviously the apple fell far from the tree....
Reb doesn't like to talk about the republican do nothing congress that caused the worst economy since the great depression. The republican do nothing congress that has blocked every piece of legislation that would have helped the economy. Reb likes to keep falling for the republican do nothing congress lies, if you elect us we'll turn this economy around, we can't tell you how until after you elect us. Don't ask for facts just trust us. People like Reb fall for it hook line and sinker.

so why are the Republicans spending all the time and all the energy on the "blah, blah, blah voter fraud" instead of JOBS!JOBS!JOBS!?
why are the Republicans spending time and energy on gay marriage and vagina-related issues instead of JOBS!JOBS!JOBS!?

A really weak come back. You know very well that it is Holder at the direction of Obama that is trying to stick the nose of the government into state issues on voter laws and this has already been decided by the Supreme Court.
You also know very well that it is the Democrats that are trying to promote some fake war against women and that the Republicans are not doing any such thing.
All you people do is deflect, dismiss and deny the criticisms of the current administration. This is America my friends, 8+ % should not be the new normal for unemployment, 100 million American collecting some sort of government money OTHER than SS or Medicare should not be the new normal, illegal immigrants being allowed to take American jobs should not be the new normal $1 trillion annual deficit spending should not be the new normal for America.
I am going on a vacation/business trip today and will be back the middle of October. I won't miss all of the BS by the Democrats and believe me that will be one of my vacation highlights!!!

The department of Justice is obligated to look at changes to voter id laws in states that have had a history of voting rights' disenfranchisement. First the GOP manipulations need to pass the DOJ review, then I think the citizens should get to vote if they want to allow it first. If the GOP wanted to pass stricter voting rights laws, I think it should have been something passed by the citizenry of each state by a majority not by a stacked, overstepping legislature. If the public really wanted to limit registration times, limit early voting, require id then they should have had a chance to approve it prior to having it forced on them. My take is the GOP is pushing it too quickly to ensure that less people can vote. Their gamble may well pay off unfortunately.
The GOP should be talking more about their economic policies, but as of now the social issues seem to be getting the most attention because of their backward social stances as outlined in their platform. They should be trying to explain that after a decade of tax cuts, more are needed and by the way the previous beneficiaries of those cuts (upper class) need more of them. While the lower and middle class need to feel discomfort and tighten their belts as the GOP slash entitlements. snark
It is going to be a close race, those swing states will have me biting my nails.
I have an issue with Romney's policy to cancel Federal Student Loans. It is Vital to keep higher education Open to ALL who aspire to IMPROVE themselves and make this nation a BETTER place to LIVE.
I realize jobs are few, even for college grads, but closing the door on young people who would help that with NEW ideas and energy isn't the answer.
It is necessary to eliminate wasteful spending, so 1,000.00 toilet seats and conventional wrenches are MORE unecessary than punishing young and INSPIRED Future Leaders.
"It is Vital to keep higher education Open to ALL who aspire to IMPROVE themselves and make this nation a BETTER place to LIVE."
That would be fine if it really worked that way, but the $trillion+ dollars of student loans have inadvertently financed so much waste at our universities (because when you're spending other people's money, you don't hold the payee nearly as accountable as you would otherwise) resulting in grossly overpaid college administrators and entire departments/curriculums that teach no practical "real world" skills. And, when former students eventually default on their loans, the taxpayer is expected to pick up the check. The student loan system has created monsters, and there's going to be a lot of pain involved in sorting it all out...
Wonder why they never show polls from MA? Oh, yea, that's right, they don't want to admit that mitt is not going to carry his supposedly home state, you know the one where he "lived in his son's basement" in order to qualify to be on the ballot and vote. Can you say voter fraud? Perhaps that is why mitt won't release his tax returns!
Union Baby, Tennessee
Tax returns blah, blah, blah. What about the worst economy since the great depression?? Don't want to talk about that do you??
The economy - not great but doing better
But what about foreign policy, military spending, medicare, research initiatives, trade deficits, etc.?
The economy is just one dimension of this, which is a perfect platform for a one-dimensional candidate.
Sorry, but medicare wasn't mentioned until Ryan was picked, and Mitt brought it up. Democrats weren't saying "legitimate rape", that was your boy. If you are pissed about the direction of the conversation, look no further than your own party. They have a slight ADD problem.
Massachusetts will re elect a Republican US Senator, Scott Brown....
Reb
Looks like you got the Deflect, Deny and Diss assignment today.
REB, -8.5% growth rate, 800,000 job losses per month, the Dow at 6500, auto industry on the verge of collapse, the financial sector having just gotten a $700 billion bailout from Bush, a 1.5 trillion budget deficit. This is the WORST ECONOMY since the Great Depression and it was JANUARY 2009. And we were fighting two never-ending wars and Osama Bin Laden had not been brought to justice.
When President Obama took his oath of office from Chief Justice Roberts, this is the economy he inherited from George Bush. On that very day, the Republican Brain Trust (Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner to mention a few of the Republicans who attended this meeting) decided their strategy for the next 4 years.
This Republican strategy was essentially "STOP OBAMA". Block as much as they could of what he wanted and needed to do. This was what they decided on that fateful day. They put political gain before HELPING to fix the 2009 economy that put Americans in great peril of losing their life's work, their homes, their jobs, their retirement, their future.
How callous. How cold. How unpatriotic these Republican leaders were. We would be so much better off today if they had just put COUNTRY FIRST, the American thing to do.
As it is, we now have an economy with a 1.5% growth rate (10% better). We are gaining over 150,000 jobs per month (a gain of 950,000 jobs per month. The Dow is above 13,000 (double what it was). Ford, Chrysler, and GM are all profitable now and are expanding their hiring. The financial industry is on more solid ground (almost all of the $700 Bush bailout has been repaid or recouped). The budget deficit is reduced by $400 billion per year. This is a huge improvement and we could have done better, if not for this treachery by the Republican Party's Brain Trust. And the Iraq war is over, Osama Bin Laden is dead, and the War in Afghanistan is winding down.
So, when you call this the worst economy since the Great Depression, you are just wrong.
I refer you back to post #1.4 Reb.
Yea he got the assignment, but he sucks at it.
In your Dreams VP Bob.
"What’s driving Obama’s lead..?" These polls oversample Democrats, that is what is driving them....
The liberal media, NBC, CBS, NY Times do a circle jerk for their candidate Obama...citing each others' biased polls, and all ignoring the issue of Dem oversampling , and all ignoring other polls like Gallup and Rasmussen which are more favorable to Romney...
Amazing.
Bob
It is incredible that you cling to that oversample fantasy. There are more Democrats than Republicans in the US. Sampling the same number from each party would be ludicrous and meaningless. Stop that.
Bob's got to cling to something other than his guns, religion and lies.
The newest research from Nate has it as the NOV 6 factors:
“Obama chance of winning 66.7% Romney 33.3%”
“Projected Winner Obama 294.2”
“Projected Loser Romney 243.8”
However, if the election was being voted in “Now Cast” Today:
Totals
“Obama chance of winning 62.6% Romney 37.4%”
“Projected Winner Obama 282.6”
“Projected Loser Romney 255.4”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as, my projected Electoral Vote outcome totals are:
Electoral Vote:
“Projected Winner Obama 297”
“Projected Loser Romney 241”
"Obama’s most statistically significant lead is in Ohio, where he’s up 50-44% among likely voters"
Rasmussen has it tied at 45-45.....but David Axelrod disapproves of polls that dont oversample Dems, so you wont hear about it on state run media NBC...
A state poll also has Romney up 4 in Michigan....First Read doesnt deem it worth mentioning...
Your last two posts show desperation, fear and worry are getting to you Bob. In your heart you know President Obama is going to be reelected. Your heart just hasn't informed your brain yet.
One poll. Actually Nate has the Obama chance of winning Michigan as 89.0%
Remember people did not forget,"Let Detroit Go Bankrupt."
Since the libs don't want to clean up the voter lists, I could vote in three locations. Vote absentee in NC (even though i haven't lived there for years), vote by mail in Oregon (easy), and in my current state as well.
Go for it commonamerican1. That way Willard/Paul will at least get three votes. Then you can send them your condolences from your jail cell.
The only voter fraud going on is with the republican party.
yeah, sure. keep telling yourself that.
