Subscribe to RSSCARNIEGE, Pa. -- At a steel manufacturer in Western Pennsylvania Tuesday, Congressman Paul Ryan took some swipes at President Obama, serving up red meat on guns and religion and even Joe the Plumber and "spread the wealth."
“Hey, I’m a Catholic deer-hunter," Ryan said at Beaver Steel just outside Pittsburgh. "I am happy to be clinging to my guns and my religion."
The comments the presumptive GOP vice-presidential nominee made referenced remarks Obama made on the campaign trail back in 2008.
“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said then speaking at a San Francisco fundraiser four year ago. "And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are going to regenerate, and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
Making his debut in the Keystone State today, Ryan -- an avid Green Bay Packers fan -- came out waving a Pittsburgh Steelers' "Terrible Towel” as he entered the venue with more than 2,000 people in attendance and proclaimed his passion for football.
“Wow. You know, these things are intimidating on TV,” Ryan admitted about the gold towel he then placed in his back pocket.
Steelers owner Dan Rooney, by the way, is currently serving as President Obama's ambassador to Ireland.
Speaking in front of a large “We did build IT!” sign, the seven-term congressman also gave the crowd another 2008 flashback, telling the crowd about Joe the Plumber.
“You know, every now and then President Obama sort of drops his veil," Ryan said. "He’s less coy about his philosophy. He sort of reveals his true governing policy, what he really believes. Remember back in 2008, remember the guy Joe the Plumber? Remember when he said, you know, ‘We wanna spread the wealth around’? It’s this belief that the economy is some fixed pie, that there’s only just so much money in America, it’s fixed, and that the job of the government is to redistribute the slices of the pie. That’s not true.”
These lines from Ryan on President Obama’s 2008 campaign are new to the congressman’s stump speech.

So instead of admitting his stimulus did nothing but allow states to extend the time before they drown in their own debt, POTUS now want to buy votes by stating he intends to give $3000.00 to Homeowners facing eviction. Like that will do anything to stop the hemorrhaging. However he did say they could use it to buy a computer for their Kids. Why make it mandatory to pay off debt? Not that $3000.00 grand will do much if your 6 months in the hole and behind on property taxes along with a pile of credit card debt. Guess he want the American Public to run their households like he does the Governments. Budget? We don't need no stinking Budget!

So now Ryan is saying that to be a good patriot and a good Catholic you have to hold on to your gun and wear your religion on your sleeve. I don't want this man anywhere near the presidency. I'm Catholic but the church and it's followers have become more violent and intolerant over the years, they're taking us back to the Spanish Inquistion and the Magdalene Laundries of the 19th Century. Then you throw in the arrogant Mormon whose church finds it necessary to baptized Jews who died in the Holocaust posthumously and to keep data bases on private citizens who aren't even members of their congregation it's more than unsettling and sort of fits right in with the rights we lost when the GOP put the Patriot Act in place.
I wouldn't worry about Obama's religion or his nation of birth, I'm far more worried about the extreme right that now wants to buy it's way into the White House.

There have been over 900 Executive Orders put forth from Obama, and he is not even through his first term yet. Here are a few:
* Executive Order 10990 allows the Government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports. (There will be no escape. No place to run)
* Executive Order 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media. (You won’t know what’s really going on while the government is controlling all forms of communications)
* Executive Order 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels, and minerals. (That’s right, Obama knows how the Saudi’s are paying for all their luxury’s and palaces- with oil production. Why not King Obama?)
* Executive Order 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision. (That’s right government ran Work Camps!)
* Executive Order 11001 allows the government to take over all health education and welfare functions. (Our children will be re-trained to respect the New Royal Family and to understand that this is for the good of everyone)
* Executive Order 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons. (National Registrations? In what form tattoos? )
* Executive Order 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft. (You are stuck here now, and there is NO WAY OUT!)
* Executive Order 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate and establish new locations for populations. (How do you feel about living in a Relocation Camp?)
* Executive Order 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways, and public storage facilities. (You can run but you can’t hide. They will find you and where you hid all your stuff)
* Executive Order 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issues over a fifteen-year period. (15 years huh? OBAMA is planning this far into the future)
* Executive Order 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis. (So Obama can start all of this at the time of the next financial crisis or in times of some little TENSION?)
* Executive Order 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute Industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President. (Eric Holder will now have complete control over all prisons. You think your name is on his or Obama’s hit list?)
* Executive Order 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit, and the flow of money in U.S. financial institutions in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when the president declares a state of emergency, Congress cannot review the action for six months. (Undefined national emergency? And why can’t Congress review his actions for six months? He doesn’t even have to explain the reason he is taking over control of the United States. AMAZING!)
You do know that Bush used the executive order many times, too. Most president's do. It's part of the power of the executive branch. What's your point? By the way, Bush did 291 Executive orders....so Obama is way behind if you are keeping count. In case you in might want to know the facts...Obama has only done 141 executive orders, not 900. I know facts get in the way sometimes.

the sight of a hunter doesn't scare me and i'm a proud liberal, so i guess that makes you an idiot. there is a big difference between someone who hunts for food and some one who uses his gun as a phalic symbol just to show everyone how 'bad' he is. i'm not impressed and i'm not intimidated. the parents of my best friend growing up were avid hunters (i lived in wyoming) they ate only venison and fish they caught themselves. there's nothing wrong with that. and no one, no liberal is trying to take your guns away so you need to get a serious grip! i don't hunt even for food because i could never kill a living creature, it's got nothing to do with being lazy. and yes, i did go hunting with my friend and her parents. that's what turned me off so much. BUT! i don't judge people who do hunt. because we effectively slaughtered all the natural predators that the deer, elk and antelope feared, we have to culled those herds or else many more would starve than we kill.

Ok, so what does Catholic deerhunter have to do with leadership and integrity? Catholicism invokes its universality claim to embrace every faith position from ivory tower bible-reinterpreting intellectuals, to blue collar, immigrant, orthodox believers who pilgrimmage to sacred grottoes for indulgences. Sooo... what clear, logical steps would the Republicans give us to balance the budget, saving us from bankruptcy and a worse Depression? (we are in one now) What safety measures do they suggest for food reserves when crops fail and climate/weather shifts take our sustenance away? Looks like, if Romney wins, Joe the Plumber will possibly be bringing up the baby of his wife's rapist along with his bio kids. Will he treat one kid differently from the other six (or eight)? Maybe he'll use his wife's pregnancy as an object lesson to show his daughters their place in the Lord's world.
Will Joe the Plumber send the child (who is genetically half his wife) to an adoption agency? Or will he simply force his kids to accept a more impoverished life by including the "extra" kid when he creates his family budget? Only time will tell.

One thing I notice on this site. Not one supporter of Obama ever defends Obama and his failures. All they can do is repeat the talking points of MSNDCC. Obama has a dismal record. That is why he will lose in 2012. IT is the economy, foreclosures, credit downgrade, inflation, gas prices, food prices, and record unemployment. AND, Obama did it all by himself. Guess we could say to Obama...."You did build that!"
