The one I find most offensive is that Obama gets his own personal army selected by him, answerable only to him, and paid what he thinks they should get paid. I find so much wrong with this. I think I read somewhere that only half of the bill is actually related to health care and why line item veto was not allowed.

This is news because it was only 82% disapproval ... who are these 12% that approve of Congress - did they poll only the institutions for the criminally insane? My guess (and that's all it is - certainly not a prediction) is that this ultimately could help the Democrats because it either:

a) Shows that the TP Travesty is not going over well with the vast majority of Americans and some may turn against the GOP this November

.... or ....

b) The number of ultra-conservative GOP candidates (e.g. the type that are at the center of this discontent) have stacked the Congressional races for 2012. Should they succeed due to the dissatisfaction with Obama and general ideological loyalty, Congress will tilt even more to the extremes and it will become impossible to get even the most simple legislative tasks done. This would result in a monumental backlash in 2014.

Both parties have much to answer for, but the GOP is operating more as a coalition of minor factions at this time.

We are going to need new taxes to pay for the handouts we give Israel each and every year. Couple those 3 billion dollar handouts with the 9 billion in guaranteed loans, where America gets to pay the interest, the fees and eventually the principle, which was just passed by the house and Senate, with nary a vote against.

Bush and company gave Israel 10 billion in guaranteed loans in or around 2003.

Eric Cantor, Steny Hoyer and Barbara Boxer just wrote the bill for the newly approved loans. See HR4133, its a dilly. Shouldn't these Jewish congressmen and women be recusing themselves from these handouts for Israel? Israel has never had to pay back any of these guaranteed loans. Either our congress thinks America is so awash in money, they simply forgive Israel's debts, or they have been bribed so generously, they sell out their country Israel. I wonder how much of the donations from Israels donors are actually above board and how much is given to our lawmakers under the table.

We should vote each and every one of these people out of office and above all, not elect anyone of Jewish origin into government office. Just look at what they have done. I don't see Congressman who are of Scottish origin, voting American tax dollars to Scotland.I don't see any laws which make donations to Scotland, tax deductable in the US. Donations to Israel are tax deductable for wealthy Jews. Isn't that special? That little loophole costs America billion of tax dollars each and every year.

Polls like this will actually drive voters to vote. It will not be unusual to see record turnouts on this election with so much at stake. Remember not everyone post's on Newsvine or discusses their political views. A lot of people work many hours and do not have time to be so vocal or passionate in their views on an open forum. The debates are critical turning points for both candidates. It is good to live in a country where we have choices.

Regardless of what's in the bill or who proposes it, a vote should never be denied. Just because Senator Reid doesn't agree with a House proposal, doesn't mean that a majority of America don't as well. What the 537 servants we send to D.C. think should not mean nearly as much as the what the people think, and by denying the vote, or even a debate, you deny the people their voice. One person should never have that power.

Since Jan 2007 there have only been 11 months where Congressional approval has been 30% or higher, the highest being in March of 2009. Since then it's been a steady decline to the 20% and subsequently teens, to where we are today.

Now, let me see if I can remember who has had control of the majority of Congress for the past 5 1/2 years.

Oh yeah it's been the Democrats. But let's not allow facts to get in the way. In December of 2010 the approval was a whopping 13%. Not very much "hope" for "change" at that point was there.

RedSox - PPACA does not intrude into the doctor-patient relationship. It allows people that didn't have that relationship to actually get one. It does not mandate "intrusion into our body" but rather allows people to be able to make choices as THEY and their doctor decide, not as are made for them by lack of health care or the mandates of solely profit-motivated health care provider (remember all those documentaries and investigations about medical services being denied and patients dying?).

1) In a school with as many students as Columbia, unless you have a photographic memory can you say you remember every single person who went to your school over 25 years ago? My high school graduated just over 100 students and I can't even remember them all.

2) Just because people don't remember him does not mean he did not attend. When I went to my 25 year high school reunion, there was a woman from our class who I did not remember. She was rather quiet and kept to herself in high school and didn't participate in many of our school activities. Today she runs a very successful business and is well respected in our community. So what if 400 people didn't remember him. Only 2 classmates remembered our female classmate.

3) If you take your research further, you will find there were those who attended Columbia at the same time who do remember him as well as some of his college professors. You simply have to be willing to do more research than the lame attempt the writer above did (looking solely at a few sources).

4) He entered Harvard Law School as a result of his time at Columbia. He could not have gained entry into Harvard without having had an undergraduate degree.

5) The last part where the writer states "If you could unseal Obama’s Columbia University records I believe you’d find that:" is not based on fact but what the writer "believes" will be found.

Hey there genius! give me some facts as to how many presidents have released school records or how do school records come into play regarding running the country? Plus a degree from the university is all that is needed to verify meeting all the standards of the School's curriculum. The several jobs I've applied to, the employer wanted to see the degree. They're not very interested in the course by course details of the curriculum or of how I paid for my school.

Taxes, on the other hand, are very indicative of a candidate's belief in supporting this country; in demonstrating honesty in meeting the basic tenets of contributing to the country. Tax evasion is a crime. Off-shore tax shelters, although legal (maybe???) are indications of the perpetrator's extra effort to avoid paying taxes in this country. While that may be acceptable for the private citizen, it is not acceptable for those seeking public office, especially the office of the President of the USA.

With Romney, you so called righteous Americans are supporting a devious individual who treats the laws of this country as his personal door mat. Think about it for just one minute. There's something in those tax returns that he does not want the public to see. So much so, that the hit to his credibility for not releasing them is much less damaging than what would happen to him if he did release them. It's similar to a known Thief taking the Fifth, during a trial, so that he may not incriminate himself.
