Ok Candice let me clarify, 9 of the top 10 welfare states are republican when measured by how much they pay into the federal government and how much more they receive back above what they pay in. This is the best measurement of who depends the most on welfare because it actually accounts for population differences of larger or smaller states. It is the only way to fairly compare a state with a population like California or NY to a state like with a population like Mississippi. I will stand by what I said, they are more dependent on federal welfare than the blue states.

Sorry, not true. My husband works in the middle east and the Iraqi people are better off than perhaps the Syrians, but that's not saying much. The locals who work for him live in Basrah. They say they are lucky to get electricity for 2 hours a day. The rest of the infrastructure is in just as bad a shape. With the exception of the north where the Kurds live, things are better there.

Hello folks, Syria is not Libya. Waging an all-out war against Syria is a further step towards WWIII. People who support a UN or NATO intervention in Syria are by extension in favor of World War III. Folks we need to be wary of a false flag, for over a month there have been leaked reports that chemical weapons would be used by outside forces to justifty a U.S./Nato attack.

Obama has outBushed Bush. Our country in its short history has bombed over 65 countries. We have been a country for approximately 236 years and have been at war for 216 of those years.

Currently, Washington has wars underway, or occupations, or is violating the sovereignty of countries with drones and/or troops in seven Muslim countries, and is arming rebels in Syria. All of this is being done without the constitutionally-required authorization by Congress, allegedly the people’s representatives.

We are broke, our allies are broke but yet we can somehow come up with the taxpayer funding to invade another country? Now why is that? Middle class and the poor get the bill for the war and the rich get richer for funding and supplying all the materials used in war. Not only do they (Halliburton, Bechtel, GE, Northrop Grumman, etc.) benefit from the armaments but from the rebuilding of the cities and buildings they bomb. It’s a “win win” situation for the purveyors of war and everybody else loses and yet you have the sheeple buying into the propaganda they use to incite support for war.

In the past year, Syria has seen a massive infusion of arms and terrorists from outside its borders. At the same time, the U.S. has attempted to manipulate world public opinion and exploit the chaos it unleashed in Syria.

The U.S., NATO, Saudi Arabia, and Israel continue to stir up trouble in Syria to get a larger war going in the region. The U.S. and their allies have openly admitted to funding the rebels. They are not only supplying armaments they are supplying U.S. paid mercenaries.

Reports of another “false flag” are surfacing that opposition rebels are planning to use chemical weapons and then blame the atrocity on Assad’s regime. Rebels attempted to stage a similar ‘false flag’ recently when British Channel 4 reporter Alex Thomson was purposefully led by rebels into a trap whereby it was hoped he would be killed by government troops and his death used as a propaganda stunt.

Washington’s goal is to build up an international consensus to carry out a larger military operation against the Assad government under the cover of a “humanitarian intervention.” So far, that consensus has been lacking because the case for a military solution is based on total lies and U.S.-Israeli war propaganda, much of which has been repudiated by evidence gathered by independent journalists and eye witnesses on the ground in Syria.

Only the opposition gains. Assad is the victim. The victim is being blamed for the perpetrator’s crimes. But again make no mistake. Syria, and other regional countries, have been targeted for regime change for years, at least a decade. It was only the question when each one would come up. Syria’s turn came up and violence has been raging since early last year.”

Yes I am much better off than I was four years ago, by the end of Bush's term my retirement account was cut in half, I lost $480,000 dollars, the dow, nasdaq, and SP were decimated, the loss of wealth was staggering, after Obama took over I recouped those horrendous losses and then some. I shut down my small business some months ago because my mother in law had terminal cancer and I did not want to continue to travel and leave my wife alone to deal with that, however I just landed a kick ass new job, and it would not even be worth going back to what I was doing before. The answer is yes I am definitely better off than I was 4 years ago, I am over a half million dollars better off, and to think at my age embarking on a new position which will allow me to do actually do less and make more, hell yes I am better off.

Hi Ya Sailcat I was heavy in the nasdaq and took a beating as did all the markets, month after month of loss, and I did not move to bonds because each month I thought well it can't go any lower, but it did, finally right before it bottomed out I was advised to move to bonds. I did not however I thought the hell with it, I am never going to get back where I was with bonds, so I let it ride, I am so glad I did. Sailcat do you know how many food stamps I had to sell at the racetrack, unemployment checks I had to cash, and scratch off lottery tickets I had to play over the years for a lazy liberal like myself to amass a retirement account that is now just just over a cool million. Ha I got to tell you it takes a lot of diligent hard work to be a lazy liberal.

I am over a half million dollars better off, and to think at my age embarking on a new position which will allow me to do actually do less and make more, hell yes I am better off.

How about a different scenario. I started working when I was thirteen. Started my own business when I was thirty-two. Put my money into what was commonly accepted as an investment that was safe, my home. Until some greedy people decided to play that investment for some quick cash. I have lost a million and a half in equity, I hope you use it wisely. Just because you had your investments out of your home does not make you brilliant, it makes you lucky, and it has nothing to do with who resides in the big white house. The market was bound to recover eventually, just as surely as it will fall again.

Candice, not only did I work my tail off, working nights, so I could go back to school, and work on my patents, during the day, but Mrs. Grump who has always been a stay at home mom, worked her tail off as well to support me in those efforts and run a household. As far as sharing, I'll tell you about my union buddies many of whom were laid off and broke themselves every time tornadoes hit places in the South, and Joplin they put their tools in their pickups and we would collect money just for them to buy the gas they needed to get there and back and to fill the trucks with water and food and they drove down there just to see if they could help somebody since they were unemployed and could go do that. I will also tell you that the bulk of my investments were only possible because of a union contract that paid decent wages with full benefits, and not the income from my business, that came much later and that was only possible because of my union contract that gave me the income and security of health insurance to risk my time and money to file my patents and start my little business. I still maintain and always will maintain my membership in my union, I would have never gotten as far as I did without it, and from time to time I still do a little technical work for the training department of the international office.

Sorry to hear of your loss john, I do not claim to be brilliant, I just left it in the market because it was the only shot I had at recouping my loss, I will now quickly move to bonds at the first sign of trouble, I would have been ok if I quickly done that before, but I waited until the damage was done, and then felt I might as well stick. I too have lost equity in my home nothing of the magnitude you have, as I have stayed in the same modest home for many years, hopefully that market will come back as well, and make you whole again.

The issue I have is that I look at your buddies -- It's unfortunate that they were unemployed, but how awesome it is that they took their time off to physically go help communities! (So many of us simply write out checks - we don't get the opportunity to actually do things to help).

The President thinks you should be indebted to the government for your success. You should acknowledge your gratitude by handing the government your money. You should trust the government to take your money and do something good. But look how more effective your buddies were by giving hands on! The gas, water and food money you gave them had a greater impact on those in need than a government program laden with bureaucrats could do. And look at how fulfilling! You felt good. Your buddies felt good. The people you helped, I'm sure, were touched.

Left alone (and given a little credit), the people would be very effective making a positive difference. And you and your friends are examples of that.

U.S. agents will receive a maximum of 450 million rounds over five years, according to a press release on the deal.

The high performance HST bullets are designed for law enforcement and ATK says they offer "optimum penetration for terminal performance."

The problem is that Mitt Romney cannot relate to the majority of the population of this country. He will not answer questions about Bain (but he's running on the fact that he is a businessman), he will not answer questions about the Olympics (but he's running on the fact that he can organize), and he will not answer questions about his governorship (but he's running on the fact that he's been elected for something.)

The economic policies of President Obama's administration don't seem to be making the country prosperous again. I don't think we can continue on the path we're on so I think it's time to try something new. And if Romney is "Plan B", then that's what I think we need to go for.

It's important to look at past behavior, past successes and past failures, too. To tell you the truth, though, I'm more concerned about what these guys are going to do for us in the future rather than what they did in the past. I don't care about Reverend Wright, college pranks, college transcripts, tax returns, show horses, dogs, cats --- any of the side shows that really have nothing to do with moving forward.
