President Barack Obama wipes perspiration from his face as he speaks Saturday in a sweltering gym during a campaign stop at Windham High School in Windham, N.H.
WINDHAM, N.H. – Speaking in a hot, crowded gymnasium here, President Barack Obama kicked off a day of campaigning in this key battleground state where he is running neck-and-neck with his challenger, Mitt Romney.
“They’re coming here on Monday,” Obama said as he wiped his brow to deal with the low air conditioning, as the 2,300 in the packed gym booed at the mention of Romney and Ryan.
“Ask them how they’re going to strengthen the middle class,” he said after accusing Romney of wanting to “wants to give another tax cut to folks like him,” i.e., wealthy Americans.
He also accused Romney's running mate Paul Ryan of putting forward "a plan that would let Governor Romney pay less than 1 percent in taxes each year. And here's the kicker - he expects you to pick up the tab."
Romney campaign spokesman Ryan Williams pushed back on that claim, saying in a statement that "it's not surprising the president is launching yet another false attack. The fact is President Obama wants to raise taxes on private investment and job creators, which will lead to higher unemployment and fewer jobs."
While Obama won New Hampshire in 2008, polls here reveal a contentious race between Romney and him, with an August University of New Hampshire/WMUR poll showing 49 percent of likely voters would pick Obama while 46 percent would go for Romney.
One of the reasons Romney is playing to win in New Hampshire is because so many people were familiar with his term as Massachusetts governor; Boston is only 45 minutes away from the southeastern town of Windham.
That familiarity with Romney was evident Saturday morning at the Chatterbox Café, around the corner from where the president spoke, where late-morning brunchers shared a variety of views on the 2012 race.
Robert Scaccia, 41, who owns a physical therapy business with branches in Windham and Boston, said he’s supported Romney since he ran against Ted Kennedy for Senate in 1994.
Unlike many conservative voters elsewhere in the country, Scaccia said he favored the idea of Mass-Care, the statewide healthcare mandate Romney instituted as governor.
Noting that he treats Boston patients who are on Mass-Care, Scaccia said Romney should treat his healthcare plan as “a crowning achievement,” not only for getting so many people on health care but also as an example of bipartisanship.
“He did it with a Democratic [legislature] in a fully Democratic state; they worked together to get it done. So I think he should be championing that,” Scaccia said.
Ray Ennis, a Romney supporter who recently retired from the printing business, shared that view. While he said he was voting for Romney because “the economy’s the most important thing in the country,” he added that the former governor’s healthcare plan had some positive features.
“I think Romneycare, he’s got some great ideas,” Ennis said. “I think he learned a lot from what he didn’t like in Massachusetts. I think he tweaked it.”
But demonstrating the diversity of views in this town, whose county, Rockingham, handed Obama a slim 1,571-vote victory, Saccia’s, wife Stacey, a homemaker and former teacher, said she would vote for Obama as she did in 2008.
But, she said she had hoped Obama would focus more on some of the issues she said are most important to her.
“He did promise a lot for education and for ending the war and for environmentally friendly practices. And you don’t hear any of that once [politicians are] in office. They’re moving on to bigger and better things,” she said.
Later Saturday, Obama moved on to Rochester, N.H., where he was slated to make remarks outside at the Rochester Commons.

To know Romney... is NOT to trust him ! Look what he did to Massachusetts...He left them broke and pension less !
Mr. Marvelous opens with 'Obama inherited a difficult situation"...
Well, well, You, Mr. Marvelous were there when all the spending occurred......are you now admitting it!
Myth Romney policy would be a disaster for the middle class. He has proven it himself.
Bring on the debates.
'Obama inherited a difficult situation"...
C'mon, chilled. Why don't you finish the quote?
"Obama inherited a difficult situation and he made it worse."
I would disagree that "he made it worse".
His policy ended the free-fall of the economy, abruptly.
His policy has encourged 29 straight months of private sector job growth.
From losing 750,000 jobs a month, and everything collapsing, I'd say that's quite an improvement.
Don't be Bitter.....
So, you also admit that Mr. Marvelous knows and admits the wild spending during the Dubya years....and the lie of omission concerning the obstruction from the do nothing Congress.
President Obama did not make it worse, if indeed it is worse, by himself.
TeaPeople should be proud of their obstruction.
Well Bitterhawk, it wasn't his fault that he made it worse. There was the tsunami, there was Europe, there are all those nasty ATM's, of course there's always Bush to blame.
Obama has no clue what to do to get this country back on track. The only job he is worried about is his own.
So, the old Mitt was a socialist who caved to the proletariat to retain power. Thank goodness the new Mitt could care less about the working class and their incessant need of basic services. Since there is no shortage of the servile class for the Mitt's of the world, let them eat cake. The aristocracy's money is better spent untaxed. Multi-million dollar vacation homes and yachts don't grow on trees you know...even in states where the trees are the right height.
No Bain/No Pain 2012.
SOME "Forward" and "Betting on America" reasons Liberals will vote to re-elect Mr. Obama (domestic issues only):
1. Had the most transparent administration in history (most notable: ObamaCare, "Fast and Furious", and White House visitor logs).
2. Ensured all legislation was put on CSPAN for 5 days prior to signing.
3. Cut the National deficit in half his 1st year in office.
4. Signed legislation to implement the Simpson-Bowles (Obama's deficit commission) Deficit Plan which will cut $ 4,000,000,000,000 from the deficit over the next ten years.
5. Ensured the "National Deficit Super Committee" made the right choice by not compromising which resulted in NO ACTION but required budget cuts to all government agencies across the board with emphasis on gutting the DOD.
6. Vetoed ALL legislation which had pork barrel spending embedded.
7. Consolidated, or combined, duplicate Federal Agencies and eliminated Fraud, Waste, and Abuse in ALL government agencies (except for White House staff, GSA, IRS, DHS, DOE, HUD, Agriculture, Commerce, Interior, and Labor).
8. Did not receive any campaign funds from any special interest groups.
9. Did not appointment any Ex-Wall Street "Fat Cats" to his administration.
10. Signed comprehensive Immigration Reform legislation during his 2nd year in office.
11. Signed comprehensive Health Care "Tax" Reform legislation during his 2nd year in office.
12. Stimulated the economy with his Stimulus Package by keeping unemployment at or below 8% and subsequently reduced to 5% during his 3rd year in office.
13. Put America on the path for "Go Green" energy by providing taxpayer funding to Solyndra, Abound, Beacon, First Solar, Cash for Clunkers, Cash for Appliances, Weatherization Program, Electric Vehicle Finnish Company (Fisker), Ener1Battery Company, and Geothermal Plant in Nevada.
14. Put America on the path for energy independence by giving billions of taxpayer dollars to Venezuela for off shore drilling, curtailing natural resource(s) extraction, and stalling the Keystone pipeline.
15. Stopped Climate Change dead in it's tracks by eliminating CO2 emissions through DOE Cap and Trade regulations, terminating most coal mine operations, and dismantling coal fired electrical plants.
16. Stopped the housing foreclosure crisis by providing homeowners with HAMP #1, #2, and #3 and directing Fannie and Freddie to "sell" their toxic assets to banks.
17. Prosecuted Wall Street "Fat Cats" for illegal financial manipulations (except for MF Global and Goldman Sachs).
18. Completely secured both borders from Illegal Alien (Immigrants) and potential terrorists entry.
19. Dramatically reduced the number of families on food stamps and doubled families' wealth.
20. Did not allow transferring captured terrorist suspects to GITMO (Hezbollah commander, Ali Mussa Daqduq) and closed GITMO.
21. Demanded no classified information be released by anyone in the administration which would put our military members or foreign intelligence contacts in jeopardy.
22. Signed comprehensive tax reform which will affect ALL American citizens....including Grandma, the poor, and the elderly.
23. Signed an Executive Order to ensure ONLY African Americans are placed "on the road to education
equality".
24. Signed an Executive Order to allow about 1,400,000 Illegal Alien (Immigrant) Illegal children to stay in the U.S. calling it a "work visa" and allowing them to obtain a SSN for use to get Social Benefits without going through Congressional procedures.
25. Protected the American dollar Standard and Poor's rating.
26. Continued throughout his administration to promote unity of the American people.
27. Set Presidential records for the number of rounds of golf, for the number of campaign tours/fund raisers, for the number of White House parties, and for the number of "First Lady dates" in other cities.
Above compiled from highly reliable sources and various un-named, un-disclosed, and anonymous opinion websites and blog posts.....Congressman Reid's "hit and run" tactic. Sources also supported by Mr. Obama's Deputy Campaign Manager.
Romney-Ryan 2012 to take back America from radicals.
Vote for Obama in November and save the Middle Class. Obama is for the Middle Class.
The Middle Class have a roof over their head and a paycheck to support family. Both are easy for the government to tax, different from Mitt's accounts in Swiss banks and Cayman and Bermuda Islands tax havens.
The Middle Class have to behave to keep their jobs, good for social order. Consumer spending is 70% of the GDP, and the Middle Class with its sheer size spend more than others in stimulating demand in the market place and thus the economy. The Middle Class support families, boosting family values, with Democrats' help, such as Clinton's Family and Medical Leave Act
@Upset,
No free fall under Obama. http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdp_glance.htm
The GDP has grown each and every quarter since he was present.
Jobless claims have drastically fallen, unemployment is down, and the DOW which started at 7000 is now hovering around 13000.
Obama has made things better.
Were supposed to believe Obama and the Democrats would be better for our economy?
The Democrats haven't passed a budget in four years. Obama's own budget proposals for the last two years didn't receive a single yes vote, not even from his own party.
Obama spent $800 billion dollars on an economic stimulus package that was supposed to prevent unemployment from going above 8% and yet we have had 42 Months, a Record, of unemployment above 8%.
Obama has added almost $6 trillion to out national dept in just four years. Now we have a $16 trillion dollar national Dept.
For the Last four years, the Federal government has had record setting deficit spending. Average Federal spending has been $1.2+ trillion dollars more than the Federal government receives in Tax Revenues.
The Federal Government has been borrowing 40 cents of every dollar it spends.
I think we know who is Bankrupting our Country and its not Romney.
He did not leave them broke and pensionless. He left them with "full employment" status. He fixed the nightmare of the "big dig". Compare the condition Romney left the state of Mass. in to the condition that the simple minded leftist Duvall Patrick has it in today. Just one more example of a democrat running things into the ground.
Besides, David, the lib Dems never did propose a budget of their own, since Harry didn't like the Republican versions, now did he? Libbies have a tendency to gripe about everything the Republicans have done without proposing any realistic solutions of their own. Oh, well, things will be better in 81 days won't they?
'
Yes they would be better if the " GOP" would stop blocking any progress we might have made ..
Any member of the GOP who is a true leader would have said NO this is wrong and not one person stepped forward ...So the GOP to me ..is a anti american group !
The Dow Jones averaqe I won't dispute.

"Our policies are working, Theirs didn't" -Obama
His policy ended the freefall of the economy, abruptly.
To exactly which policy are you referring? TARP is the policy that averted the "freefall of the economy" and that was passed under the Bush administration. You can't possibly be talking about his stimulus bill because even economists who call themselves Democrats agree that did little or nothing. In fact, some of these fools think he should have spent much, much more.
His policy has encourged 29 straight months of private sector job growth.
Is this really all you've got? If my big toe were elected President it would have turned in a better performance than Obama. My big toe would not have adopted a job-killing energy policy, it would not currently be strangling businesses with poorly conceived regulations and it certainly would not be threatening to raise taxes on 15% of small businesses--you know, the job creators.
The stimulus was hugely successful. It got the GDP growing again.
http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdp_glance.htm
Ido = Goose Stepping in Lock Step to every Sound Byte of the GOP 'Private Sector' Ministry of Propaganda (The FAUX NOIZE Network, Lush, Boortz, Fatbo and Beckerhead) spews out.....
What has the GOP/Tea Tards done to help the economy and increase employment?
______________________________________________
1. Birth control legislation
2. Tired worn-out attempts about the President's birth certificate and college transcripts
3. Extend the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy
4. Create a fictitious "war on religion" to stonewall Obama's Healthcare efforts
5. Destroy the unions by using overworked GOP catchphrases: Socialism, Marxism, Saul Alinsky
6. Destroy the environment by using the "job creation" smokescreen
7. Try to repeal Affordable Health Care so it doesn't cut into their insurance company cronies' profits
8. Declare War on women and their Vagina's
9. Attempt to repeal the Dodd-Frank Act so Wall Street can steal from the American people again
10. Take away food stamps from the elderly and poor
I would say its the Dems that are doing the Lock-stepping. The Democrats policies have been a failure and America Knows this. 60% of the Country believes its heading in the wrong direction. Obama has a 39% approval rating for his handling of the economy.
I do encourage you to keep professing what an incredible Job Obama has done fixing our economy.
You can Thank the Tea Baggie Faggies for developing John “Bozo” Boner and Eric “bendover” Cantor and the GOP dog and pony show, which has reduced the public approval rating of Congress to 9%, and is helping to assure the re-election of President Obama.
Lets Remember:
The republicans have filibustered President Obama over 100 times the first year he was in Office.
The GOP/Tea Bangers have filibustered Obama more in the in the past 4 years, than all of the past 50 yrs combined!!!
The GOP is the Party, that for "some" reason, has a personal, not political hatred for the President, which is stronger than their love for America or Americans!
What are the 'issues' that Conservatives are upset about?
1. Flag burning
2. Gay marriage
3. Union workers have better jobs than non-union workers. They should have crappy jobs like the rest of us.
4. Democrats have not yet paid off the huge national debt that Republicans have created.
5. Democrats have not yet stopped all the wars that Republicans started.
6. The poor have too much money
7. The rich do not have enough money
8. All Americans will soon have access to medical care
9. The First Lady encouraged kids to eat their vegetables (Tyranny!)
10. The President will not admit that he was born in Kenya
11. The President will not admit that Death Panels are being set up by the Federal Government.
_____________________________________________________
So, in order to solve these "terrible" problems, Conservatives go to the polls to:
vote to end taxation
vote to allow people to carry assault rifles in the public domain
vote to lower wages for themselves and everybody else
vote to reduce education spending for their children and everybody elses children
vote to give generous tax cuts for the wealthy
vote to take away health care from the poor and elderly
vote to get inside every woman's vagina in America
vote to destroy social supports
vote to cut the budget to reduce the number of teachers and fire/policemen
Obama has made things better.
ROFL!
Dude, ask your seeing eye dog. He can tell you that Obama hasn't "made things better".
Backstabbing Tea Party....."Ido = Goose Stepping....."
Sheeesh, a Liberal saying things like this when it is the Democrats~Liberals~Progressives who are "Goose Stepping" to every Obama word.
Mr. Obama was NOT groomed to be President (2 years as a Congressman voting PRESESNT) and he has surely shown that he has NOT picked up on his On-the-Job-Training. Everything his administration touches is controversial and lacks any common sense.
BTW: How about responding to the items in my post instead of your usual Liberal rant and Liberal talking points ?
The Republicans, who only have control of 1/3 of the power since 2011, have passed budgets for the last two years which is their legal duty to do. The Republicans have passed 30 bills and sent them to the Senate were Harry Reid Pocket vetoes them.
The Democrats have had control of the Senate since 2007, the House of Reps since 2007 up till 2011 when the Republicans took over the house of reps. The Dems Had two years of absolute control in 2009 and 2010 when tehy had the House ,Senate, and White House.
It always amazes me that the Left Blames the Republicans when they are the ones that have had 2/3rds or 3/3rds of the power for the last six years.
If we follow the Lefts logic if your the one that provided two thirds of the investment you only deserve one third of the profit.
Willard Romney and Paul Ryan, with their Budgetary Bible, will cut:
•Education ( Wanna go to college? "Borrow money from your mom and dad!" said Romney. Hell! Willard and Ann had to live on his dad's stocks while they were in college! )
•Transportation ( Privatize Amtrak and don't fix any roads or bridges! )
•Food Inspection ( Salmonella and E-coli for dinner, cancer and mad cow for dessert, and we are none the wiser! )
•Medicaid ( Cutting 2 trillion dollars from health care for the poor over 10 years is actually a Paul Ryan Catholic value. Medical care that might keep you alive? Better to die and get to heaven sooner, right, Paul? )
•FBI ( Who needs 'em? Crime ain't so bad...)
•Homeland Security ( Thought the GOP was so keen on keeping the country safe. Costs too much, I guess! )
•Local Government Grants (If your city needs money, "Fohgettaboutit"!)
•National Parks ( What a waste of resources! Let's turn all that land into oil rigs! )
•Crop Subsidies ( No one needs farmers when we can buy food from China! )
•Housing and Heating Subsidies For The Poor ( Housing and heat in the winter are overrated! )
•Food Stamps (16 million starving kids are not a priority! They only have a right to be born, not to eat! )
•School Lunches ( Poor kids don't need food! They''ll never amount to anything, anyway! )
•Supplemental Security Income (SSI) For Very Poor Seniors And The Disabled ( Let 'em die...they're old and sick! )
•Unemployment Insurance ( Lazy bastards! Get a job! )
•Veterans' Pensions ( YOU made the choice to defend and fight for this country! That certainly doesn't mean we need to repay you in some small way! We'll just give you each a medal and say thank you...)
•Privatize Veteran's Medical Care ( You're gonna love those high deductible plans and the big co-pays! )
•Refundable Tax Credits For The Working Poor ( Self-de'poor't! )
•Medicare ( Vouchers are kind of like 'Groupon For Healthcare' ! Cool stuff! )
•Eliminate grants for Meals on Wheels (Poor seniors don't need to eat either!)
Just one more example of a democrat running things into the ground.
Think California.
Eric - I believe you misread my post.
Typical Republican."Romney should treat his healthcare plan as a Crowning Achievement" Instead the lying pu$$y POS slams "Obamacare" as being "socialist" and a disaster for the country. Then this doctor is going to vote for Romney anyway because he's not, you know, half black. At least his wife has enough brains to cancel out his vote.
Interestingly the majority of states that have greater than 40% of their population covered by Medicaid/Medicare happen to fall within, wait for it...states that have Republican leadership!
Arizona, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia.
These states all lead the nation in the greatest % of population on Medicaid/Medicare. Incidentally, the vast majority of states that receive more in Federal spending than they pay in federal taxes....are RED states!
Please, explain to me how the GOP is so anti-entitlements and pro-spending cuts, when they represent the greatest offenders of federal programs for their constituents and tax cuts for the wealthy?
******************************************
It's time that the BLUE states stop SUBSIDIZING the RED States. I bet most of the complainers here are from those "red" states that have a remittance deficit with the federal government (meaning that the rest of us are subsidizing them).
LOL. Tea poopers always calling someone a socialist when the largest socialist program in history, bank buying, was rubber stamped by Republicans. Marxist Bush!! Obama is the best thing that happened to America!!
Chicago is famous for 3 things...
1. Pizza
2. Gangsters
3. Corrupt Politicians
One thing can be said with certainty, Obama is not a pizza!
If only Obama would attack the National Debt as much as he attacks Romney and Bush, we'd be far better off.
I know I'm not a liberal because I believe in:
The Constitution
Freedom of speech
Freedom of religion
The right to bear arms

BB
You are definitely not a liberal - a fruitcake, maybe, too much a zealot, but not liberal. Any suggestions on how to get over some chemo side effects? Having a rotten day. Think pink!
Felden - The House passes bills along to the Senate. The Senate creates their own version and votes on it. They can add or remove items that they will approve. Do you know what happens then to a bill? It goes in for reconciliation. The bill has to become one in nature. If the Senate tables the bill, it can't move forward. The Senate has tabled all the jobs bills, all the appropriations bills and just about everything the house sends to them. The house is doing their job, the Senate isn't doing theirs. Who controls the Senate? The republicans aren't the obstructionists... it's the democrats.
bcwc,
Been watching HGTV all day - I am ready to do some DIY. (only if there is a bathroom handy)
How do we know they wouldn't have passed in the Senate when Harry Reid never brought them up for a vote?
Aren't bills supposed to be voted on? You know that whole Majority rules thing?
When one man decides he wont bring a bill up for a vote because he doesn't like it how is that a Democracy and not a Dictatorship?
BB
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, sing a new tune please?
MMMmmm pink flamingo ... yummmmmy!
bcwc
A sick pink phlamingo. Not yummy
phancy - Sorry hon... I know you must be going through hell. I'm quite sure you are anxious for the chemicals to stop... I don't know of anything to alleviate the anguish you must feel. I don't think even tequila would disrupt the yuk... not unless you drank enough of it to kill some brain cells... and that's not a good thing. Know that I have empathy for your bad day... but that doesn't even touch your ill-feeling... I sincerely hope you don't have to take chemo much longer!
Wonder if the docs realize how bad this stuff makes one feel? Wish I could go to sleep for a week, and wake up not wanting to be in the bathroom!
dualcoloredcats said: 3 dull posts in a row Brianb ... maybe you should hang some sheetrock instead.
No thanks. I'll pass. I just got done cutting 2 acres of grass... I'm done for now. Thanks for your concern though... I'll remember it.
Pigotry
Really? I couldn't tell with the 31% of construction and construction design professionals still being unemployed over the past 3 years. That is awful big chunk to the middle class - still sitting idle. Right now pandhandlers get more money in a day than they do!
Eric
The DOW also recovered after 1930 too, but unemployment lingered longer than any other time in US History.
And Eric for there really to be a recovery the GDP must be over 2.5%, and normally is 3 - 6%. The Obama economy has only sniffed 2.5% and usually been below 2%. That is not a recovery, it is falling behind.
The stimulus was hugely successful. It got the GDP growing again.
Eric, you are using an administration source, of course, they are going to say that.
According to the CBO, the original estimate of 3.3 million was a little high. It revised the number of jobs to 700,000 saved or created.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/nov/22/cbo-stimulus-hurts-economy-long-run/?page=all
CBO estimates are always optimistic at best. In 40 years the only program cost that came in lower than estimated was the Senior Prescription Drug program.
The people in NH know Romney well?? I disagree. How can anyone know Romney well. He changes his mind depending on who he's talking to, the time of day, the phase of the moon, what the polls say, you name it. The clown stands for NOTHING other than winning an elections. He will do or say anything, take any position, tell any lie, distort any speech, hide, blame, do ANYTHING to win. The guy make Newt Gingrich look honest -- and that hard to do.
David Noah post 1.25
There were 25 such bills in 2011 and 16 more in 2012. Total is 41.
Wow, Charlie, that was almost literate!
Thank you DB for the correction. I didn't realize I was low balling it:)
Lets turn this around. The left claims its the Obstructionist Republicans fault for the economy even though they have passed budgets as required by law since they took the House while the Democrats have failed to pass budgets for the last four years and Obama's last two budgets have failed without a single yes vote even from his own party.
Its the Republican do nothing Congress fault because they aren't doing anything even though they have passed 41 bills and sent them to the Senate that have never been voted on because Harry Reid Pocket Vetoes them.
Tell us how many Senate passed bills have been sent to the House and haven't been voted on because Boehner Pocket Vetoed them?
phinephancy
At least you have a fighting chance, my wife's uncle has less than 2 months. Lung cancer discovered too late.
The principle of chemo is to give you enough poison to kill the cancer and hope the you are strong enough and fortunate enough that the poison or it's side effects doesn't kill you.
Keep going, it is your best chance!
So spider --- can't stand the truth can you???
How many of these bills were among the 33 failed attempts by the GOP to repeal the national health care program? No matter; not one of the bills pocketed by Reid had anything to do with jobs programs. In all of the wheel spinning and whining the House tea tards have been involved in, they have not offered a single bill with the intent to create jobs for Americans. When will the Republican Party start working for the American people instead of against them?
Thurston Howell III / Eddie Munster 2012!!!
@ Tea party haters/backstabbers and Low IQ ...you use labels...let's start with this whether someone is a liberal a democrat a Republican, a conservative. We are all American citizens. We are all entitled to our opinion. This division needs to end. There is common ground that we all stand on. You need to stop denigrating fellow Americans or you will divide this country forever. We will split because you don't like someone else's opinion. The majority will elect the next President. And the next President needs to be respected not denigrated. Once you are done whinging and complaining exercise your next great freedom...the freedom to leave. This is our country our flag and our God. Take your same sex marriage and go to Europe.
This is not your country nor your flag. They belong to the American people and when they reelect President Obama you are welcome to take your imaginary deity and retreat into your trailer with your malt liquor and pork rinds.
phinephancy, try weed. You don't have to smoke it. Put it in brownies or better yet make some tea. I've been told it's the only thing that works for chemo's side effects. Take care of yourself, I'm thinking good thoughts for you.
Brianb-######,
I am in shock! I agree with the following beliefs of yours, and I am a proud liberal:
Written by a bunch of long-haired, free-thinking liberals. Now if President Obama can just replace one of those activist right-wing justices so we can start having it interpreted correctly once again. I'm looking at you, Scalia!
See above.
Indeed, as long as we have the original intent of separation of church & state. I mean really, if Mitt wants to believe the Garden of Eden was in Missouri that's his business. So long as he quits taking orders from his superior on the Planet Kobol.
You're right big time on this. It's summer, man. Wear those short-sleeves, bear those arms...heck wear a tank-top if you've got one. Oh, wait a minute. I thought you meant "bare" arms. Oh well, so long as you mean a single-shot muzzle loader like they had in the late 1700's, I'm cool with that.
No Bain/No Pain 2012.

Thanks for the rah-Rah speech but you should send the GOP congress a copy. They are one's who decided from day one not to work with or respect this President. You damn people needs to get rid of this selctive memory and brain-washing. Do you think it's OK for the GOP to disrespect this president? You also have the same right to leave. Practice what you preach, If that's possible
Heres the orginal story on Obama's brother & how poor he is and how our GREAT President hasnt even offered to help him have a better life..... Amazing how someone can talk about how much they want to help this nation and wont help their own family.
cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/22/bts.obama.brother/
Not your fascist God Bobby, this country is for anyone's God whether it be Allah or the BUddha and we know thats tough for you to swallow.Division is what makes up what we are..Americans have *always* been like this since this country's inception. What needs to happen is for both sides to do that thing called *compromise* which I do not think either side knows the meaning of the word. Many around the world think this type of anarchy is crazy and yes it can get out of hand, thats what the Civil War was all about, but there are many many kinds of people out there not just one or two..
The title of the article is about the president speaking in NH, yet most is about Romneycare and how this is the only positive thing Republicans have to say about Romney. There's no mention of how these supporters square Romneycare with Vouchercare, or what was up with Paul Ryan trashing Romneycare earlier in the week.
Jonathan Gruber, who is a professor of economics at MIT, and John McDonough, professor at Harvard School of Public Health -- the men who helped create both Romneycare in the state of Massachusetts and the Affordable Health Care Act were asked about Paul Ryan’s claims that Romneycare was a failure.
“Patient-centered care” is even worse voodoo than supply-side failures that Ryan touts. But Ryan's "word salad" in trying to explain his plan, whether how long it takes to balance the budget, or how Vouchercare is a good thing is a major spin job. Wow, the banner in Florida, "protect and strengthen Medicare" -- WTF?
Money saved in Medicare is put back into Medicare via the Affordable Care Act. Romney/Ryan want to destroy it all -- They want to privatize Medicare with vouchers, repeal ACA--which helps to protect and strengthen Medicare, plus huge cuts in Medicaid for nursing homes and hospice. Any senior who thinks Republicans are the ones who will protect these programs is in need of Medicare.
I find it quite amusing that Obama first calls for an extension of the Bush tax cuts to spare middle class American's a $2000 a year tax increase, then calls Romney out for the same type cuts that spared them the $2000 in the first place. Typical politician, talks from both sides of his mouth, what a surprise.
Teaparty;
Obama has done very well spending without house approval, He calls it an executive order, something he does frequently. Every time the house tells him no on a spending bill, he writes another executive order and spends it anyway. So, who is really spending the money? Dude, why would you throw your wife under the bus like that?
No problem, bro. I've had 3 robo-calls this week, asking me who I will vote for: press 1 for Obama, press 2 for shlt head, press 3 for someone else. I always press 2 for the Ken doll. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Waste your phone calls, a$$holes!
rofl...so do I..lol..margin of error of 20-25% in the real world...lololol..
One fact anyone can ascertain from this campaign. A strong, large "middle Class" earning enough to pay Its way, with some discretionary funds left for savings and discretionary spending, will, rather rapidly, cure the ailments of this Country. Government policy must be directed toward that proposition. Makes sense too, since this is the Countries Core. Everything else, including foreign policy, is, in fact, ancillary. The republicans have, since Reagan, committed themselves to the dismantling of this Core, and the results have been devastating to the Country as a Whole. Romney and Ryan are out, even now, running around the Country trying to sell a lower tax rate for the wealthy, who already pay little or nothing, while claiming such will help re-establish that middle class. What an illogical, and ass backward presentation of arithmetic! Middle Class Americans supporting a Romney/Ryan candidacy, carry's all the sensibility of fattening someone else's Hog with the steaks attained from the butcher of your last cow.
Where are your tax returns Mittens? Why are you so afraid to reveal them to us? You are a liar and a Thief Mittens!
Obama/Biden 2012!
You're batting a thousand Mac.
Only 12 short mos. ago, most republicans threw everything but the kitchen sink at Romney to assure he would not be the Republican presidential nominee. My God, even bat-sh*t crazy wild-eyed Bachmann led him for a considerable time. You placed one candidate after another to lead Romney in hopes he would just go away. He was like the uninvited black-sheep brother-in-law who crashed your party of the decade. He remained steadfast in competing for attention no matter how many strong hints or downright dirty insults you hurled his way.
He used your playbook to beat you at your own game. He used a great fortune to stack the cards. With no holds barred, he lied, vilified and smeared every candidate you placed before him. Each and every time you mistakenly thought you had him in your clutches, he managed to slither out of your grasp to raise his head and mock you. You openly declared your utter disdain for him. You called him a flipflopper and gutless appeaser that could never be trusted.
Now he stands victorious above you. You drop to your knees and kiss his feet. You rise with dazed eyes full of admiration and adoration. He gives you your orders and you become excitedly animated to rush into the street to spread the gospel of Mitt the Mormon. You shout aloud to all that will listen that this man is the next savior of the free world. He will miraculously cure all of our ills with the very same potion that brought us to our knees only 4 short years ago.
Pardon me if I don't rush to your side in celebration. You knew him better than the rest of us. He is one of your own. You publicly shunned and exposed him for all the world to see. Minimal research proved you were right about this sleazebag. He and his pompous Queen told us to shove it when we ask for proof that his massive fortune was not gained at our expense.
We politely decline your invitation to this masquerade party. You have shown us the ugly faces hidden by all of the glittery masks. Feel free to hit us up once again when you recover the spine that Mitt Romney so ruthlessly ripped from your backs.
Ryan pick by Mr. Flip-Flop is truing out to be a monumental bust. Last week, just before the Ryan announcement, Rasmussen -- one of most rightward leaning national pooling organizations -- the same Rasmussen who has McCain beating Obama in Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Indiana, Virginia, Colorado and North Carolina in 2008 (McCain lost them all) had Mr. flip-Flip beating the President by 4%. Today -- the President is up by 2%. Great job Mr. Flip-Flop -- a 6 % swing for the other side from an organization who stacks the deck in your favor
@Commonsense101#1.75: "Commonsense", you're right on the money. You said It much better than I ever could. Appreciate it. Best regards to you.
Sorry guys, when you are dying you can't help but dream for a better tomorrow.
Poor phiney. Hang in there, sweetie.
I fought that monster and beat him for over 5 years now. I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. The 2 surgeries, many radiation and chemotherapy treatments weakened my once healthy body tremendously to the point where I felt like a water-logged and useless napkin ready for the trash can.
My spirit was uplifted time and time again by my fellow cancer patients that bravely suffered even more than I and still managed a smile or short joke to keep me fighting. I was fortunate to have a loving family and so many friends that seemed to crawl out of the woodwork to cheer me on. I felt that I must never succumb to my overwhelming weariness lest I disappoint so many.
We've all endured many hardships in the past and this was just another mountain to climb. Refusing to acknowledge the scope of this mountain, I plodded ahead one step at a time. Each new challenge was just another obstacle that must be met to continue my awesome journey. I feel as if I'm approaching the summit now and the view is a beautiful sight to behold. I am thankful for each new day. I know that this may be just a reprieve and that monster may once again loom before me. It's okay. I fought the hard fight before and I'll fight it again.
Never give up. Miracles happen everyday. May God bless you and lead you to a speedy recovery.

You don't have a clue as to how Government budgeting is done. Congress decides how much each department of the Government can spend, but Congress doesn't specify every ink cartridge and ream of paper purchase, those decisions are left up to various department heads and local department officials in the Administrative branch of Government headed up by the President. Now the President can sometimes specify spending on certain project by "executive order", but it must be within the budget guidelines set by Congress. So, no, the Obama Administration hasn't spent a dime that wasn't within the budget limits set by Congress.
Oh, BTW, those "earmarks" that got Teapartiers in such a tizzy is simply Congress specifying a certain spending decision that is usually left up to the Administrative branch. Those "earmarks" never increase spending above what Congress has authorized.
No matter what obama says the libs lap it up like....well....kool-aide. He could say the world was flat and they would shout it from the rooftops! PLease...do a little research yourselves! If you care about America at all, get this destoyer out of office!
@Phieny
I so wish the best for you Phieny. I had a very good friend who was battling pancreatic cancer tell me that smoking pot was the only thing that helped with the nausea. If you have access, get some or find a kid who knows somebody who can help you.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you Phieny.

From the article above:
And so, Ryan Willams lauched yet another false claim back at President Obama.
Got to admit. At least Governor Romney's campaign is consistant.
Salud.
@Bob in KC-545426
If you are already an adult (the quality of your rhetoric leaves that an open question), you should learn that speaking about those with whom you disagree by using derisive terms of diminishment such as "libs", "Dems", "Libbies" (while at the same time being respectful of those with whom you agree "Republican", "Republicans") shows you to possess no ability to think dispassionately or objectively. And that inability to discriminate renders your entire argument essentially worthless; just blind adherence to the actions and policies of your chosen political affiliation, regardless of merit.
Just for a change, try a little independent thought. and try treating those with whom you disagree with the same respect you would like to receive from them. After all, is a person's political and social philosophy, and the way they may feel about issues really the entire substance by which you think they should be judged as human beings? And do you really feel that you are qualified to set the standards by which to judge others?
Interesting that you call out those insulting liberals and give a pass to the liberals insulting conservatives. Sorry, if you are going to take umbrage then be an equal-opportunity umbrage taker. Anyone who casts insults only demonstrates that they are childish and insecure.
mygirl1 (Ignoring author)
Pot, meet kettle.
Backstabbingteaparty is very good with the insults. Say, do you get your material from the DNC talking points website or Obama's campaign? Nothing original and not too factual either, apparently rhetoric rather than information rules your day.
Current Obama Record:
1. 46 million on welfare
2.Unemployment at or over 8% for 42 months
3.Lowest male labor force participation since 1948
4. Current housing collapse deeper than worst of Great Depression
5.11 million on disability
6.American families net worth down 40%
7.New business startups lowest in 30 years
8. More people on food stamps than at any time in history.
Sources: ssa.gov, politifact ohio, foxnews and a host of other sites that don't fall into the liberal bias Obama is great propaganda machine. Sorry, almost four years and more people on welfare, food stamps, disability and unemployed than at other times in American history. If you suffer from cognitive dissonance and still think Obama is great, there is no help for you. You cannot face reality, the emotional connection to Obama is too great and you will indeed vote to cut your nose off your face.
I think Romney and Ryan have a vision for our future. Unfortunately, in that vision, most of us are flat broke and starving to death. Yes, let's free up the banks and Wall Sreet. They didn't cause any financial mess before.........................Did they?
According to Romney's taxes, Rafalco the wonder horse has a $75,000 a year cost of upkeep. about the same amount I make each year.
And you are pissed cuz the horse is getting better care than you are. Who's fault is that? Look in the mirror for your answer.
And Obama's "brilliant" economic policy is the vision YOU want for our future?
You must be one of his bundlers getting rich off of stimulus spending.
The stimulus prevented a depression......and got the GDP growing again.
Under Obama things have gotten better.
GDP graph: http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdp_glance.htm
Obama ...cares,
Romney ....scares.
You are so right. Romney's horse has TWICE more money for its toiletting than I made last year.
So Mr. Obama , Have you realeased your college records yet ? Why have you sealed them from public view. What are you hiding from the American citizens? Are you that Manchurian Candidate?
Oner, you friggin asswipe. The horse shouldn't be getting better care than a human being making 75k a year (that's at least 6k a month). I don't care who you are - all life is precious, and to prioritize a horse's luxury life over a human's own well-being.... you must feel like a God King Worshipper right now.
That horse is probably going to have only one purpose - to strut Romney around America while his sheep followers and soldiers all chant: "Holy holy, is Mitt King. Praise Almighty, Romney King!" or something to that effect.
If Romney goes into office, say farewell to the United States - and say hello to the Holy Kingdom of Smith, with King Mitt Romney the First as our everlasting emperor. Then the Egyptians can finally laugh at us and say: "Now you know what WE had to go through - so you help yourselves and see how karma treats you, eh?"
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if God has a hand in this election in order to teach each and every one of us a very overdue and important lesson - once you accept stupidity, you need to accept the consequences it reaps. Even if women and non-straight, non-white men become second class citizens. Even if Romney essentially makes it okay to rape women in the name of God.
Romney did some terrible things at Bain - he just doesn't want to admit it because the truth will damn him (in more ways than one). Imagine what kind of horrors he'd be capable of with the almighty power of leader in his hands. No one, not even you or me (or even my parents, whom are both women and lesbians) would be safe from anything he tried to do.
Meanwhile the GOP/Tea Scum promises to do something about jobs and the economy as soon as they take control of every vagina in the country, make homosexuals criminals, makes sure everybody has an AK-47 with a 30 round clip and makes sure no one has health insurance…….and kick the brown guy out of the White House.
How pathetic.
Busy barfing now.
If politics is so abstract and obscure why can't there be another Democrat that can run along with besides..."Gulp"
Since President GULP is winning, Lusitania, why would the Democrats bother with anyone else?
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html
What will the GOP/TP/Neo-Nazi Party do with Governor Etch-A-Sketch after he crashes and burns in November? Stuff and mount him, do you suppose?
No, it did not.
I suggest you look at the actual data tables in Recovery.Gov. My Favorite piece of date is the .something jobs. There is no definition of what a job is. Is it 1 day, one week, 1 month, 1 year 12 seconds? Looking at the descriptions, they could be 1 day up to several months long. Most were extremely short terms.
The claim there is that there is 3 - 5,000 new "jobs" in a month. I could be wrong but it seems to me that 3 - 5,000 jobs a month from a slide of 700,000 job loses a month does not stop.
The teacher job saving money was released in April of 2009 would have no effect until August. The biggest part of the Job losses stopped in June 2009.
Eric, I know you put your keyster on the line voting for these people, but somewhere you have to come to the realization that what the promote doesn't pass the smell test.
What really saved the economy was TARP. Starting it's release in November of 2008. The repercussions of the collapse had already begun and began playing out in June of 2009.
Not only 75,000 in upkeep, but the sleezebag somehow writes the whole thing off as "Therapy" for his wife's M.S. My horse requires around 2,000 a year, I give it it's shots and feed and maintain it. My wife has M.S. too, and a HORSE is NOT therapeutic in ANY way shape or form, just another farm animal. But if you can pay off a doctor to claim it's therapeutic I guess you can SCREW the American people...
eric
I know people with MS. Horse riding IS therapeutic for them provided they are not to far advanced.
And TARP was this bill that was BI_PARTISAN DB...and no it was NOT started by the Bush Administration,it wass basically shovelled down the Bush Administrations' throat to pass it by Congress or face some serious anarchy and strife.Bush had no other choice at that point and neither did he care..he did his two terms the idiot. And all seem to forget that Obama was behind saving GM and Chrysler...I never seem to hear about any of that.Bush was not a supporter of bailing out GM,he insisted that bailing out his banking crooks was far more important to the stability of the country than basically the last bastion of manufacturing this country has..not great manufacturing but it was at least 100,000 jobs or so on the line.Think Greece is bad..image 25% unemployment with deflation exploding out of control...yea the value of everything goes down but one has to have a job..
Pot is therapeutic in keeping my eyes seeing. But I don't get a tax break, I might get busted and throwing jail though.
I think I'd like to see the research on that horse riding thing. Any links???
There's plenty of research on the benefits of Cannabis helping glaucoma. The US Govt. still supplies Cannabis for the remaining patients who were under a federal program. The program was canceled due to overwhelming positive results. Go figure...." OMG!!!!!! It's working!!!! Quick, stop the program before this gets out!!!!!!!"
Yup, Mitt's just one of us common folk, with tax breaks for our Olympic dancing horse, our car elevator.....our 5......6.......oh, I forgot how many homes....They're in a blind trust...retroactively if need be. Yup, we're just one of the l'il people just like you.
Much Love n Happy Dreaming,

PS: On a side note, Bearing false witness is a sin. No matter how many times you confess your sin, it won't help if you plan to continue to do it. You may bamboozle the people, but do you truly think you can bamboozle God??? just a thought
Please make a quick count of the number of MS sufferers you know who own Olympic dressage horses for therapy. None? I thought so.
"Tough Olympic news for the Romneys. Ann Romney's horse Rafalca did not advance to the Olympic final.
Apparently it was beat by a smooth-talking socialist horse from Kenya."
—Conan O'Brien
DBAkron, where do you go to dream this crap up? Do you know anything about M.S.? Do tell how putting someone with involuntary musle spasms and balance problems 3 feet in the air on top of a horses back is theraputic? Please stick to topics you know something about...... oh wait....
Eric: Perhaps you should show some intelligence. I have a friend with MS who bought a horse and that horse has been her lifesaver. You don't understand compassion or human/animal bonds and you don't have a clue as to what all is involved with horse therapy. Used for lots more illnesses than MS BTW. Perhaps you should follow your own advise and stick to the limited topics you are knowledgeable of.
July 2010 The SUMMER OF RECOVERY
How's that working out for you?
ROMNEY/RYAN 2012
If Myth Romney wins, we deserve what we get.
We would have recovery if the Republicans hadn't obstructed every Obama policy.
In fact, if Republican had passed Obama's jobs bill unemployment would be under 8%.
What's the matter? Afraid of losing your freebies and having to get off your butt and work for a change?
What's the matter, afraid to pass a real jobs bill, because you can't win the Presidency without obstruction?
Recovery: 26 consecutive months of job growth and an increase in the GDP. Could it have been better, sure.....but I think positive growth in these 2 indexes are better than negative numbers. Just think how much better if the republicans would have voted for all of America, instead of trying to beat Obama.
Interestingly, the people of Massachusetts are well acquainted with their former governor, Mitt Romney. Massachusetts is solidly behind President Obama in November's election. How can Willard possibly expect to win the rest of the country when his own state has rejected him?
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html
Which own state? He has Utah, California, New Hampshire, Massachusetts (2) and Michigan (childhood Home).
Good thanks,I'm employed,my wife is also, dow's at 13000..yea thigs are going pretty well thanks for asking :)
I'm going with the one in which he failed as governor, Massachusetts (11 electoral votes) although he definitely isn't going to take California (55 electoral votes) or Michigan (16 electoral votes), either. New Hampshire (4 electoral votes) is doubtful for Mitt, too. He can have Utah (6 electoral votes), if it makes him happy. It won't be enough to get him elected, but it will be good for a laugh afterward.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html
Romney/Ryan are winning in all the swing states.
In all the swinger states?
In what is now a well-known exchange from ABC News’ January 2008 Republican presidential debate at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, Mitt Romney declared
when asked by moderator Charlie Gibson about his approach to health care reform in Massachusetts.

Better Qualified To Serve As President?
42% Say Ryan
40% Biden
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows President Obama attracting support from 46% of voters nationwide, while Mitt Romney earns the vote from 44%.
The real poll is likeability. People like Obama more than they like Romney.
Liking Obama and voting for Obama will be 2 different things. You can like someone and NOT LIKE THEIR POLICIES....duh!!
Rasmussen, cons favorite pollster, has the President up by 2 today.
Eric, the only reason Obama could even possibly win is because he is an empty, likeable, know-nothing, valueless suit. People are going to vote their pocketbooks on this one, not for another four years of empty promises.
How's that hopey-changey thing working out for you, Eric? Or is it Forward or is it
BettingGambling on America? You can't borrow your way to prosperity and you can't gamble your way to prosperity so what's left: shovel your way to prosperity?????@Julie and Bob,
In an election where people are confused by all the attacks. They always vote for who they like.
Romney isn't likeable, he changes his stance on things almost daily.
Eric - "In an election where people are confused by all the attacks. They always vote for who they like."
Thanks for the window into how feeble minded liberals make their voting decisions:
Most Americans look at the issues and the candidates records, which is why Obama is avoiding his own record at all costs to feed hate-filled rhetoric to easily confused sheep such as yourself.
Let's widen the range of polls instead of selectively choosing only the only one that supports Willard, shall we?
Rasmussen: Obama 46, Romney 44

It sure looks like President Obama is steamrolling that liar, Romney!
The Ryan pick:
Ryan Reaction: 42% say V.P. pick "only fair/poor"; worst since Quayle
Gallup is done on Registered voters. Obama was consistently barely ahead on this one until 2 weeks ago. This one says if you can get you support out to vote, you win.
What is interesting is that Rasmussen was showing Romney up by 4 points a couple of days ago. What this says is if voting was today, this person wins.
Sailcat,
The Fox poll was done by a Democrat Polling company. They used 44% Democrat, 35% Republican, over sampled African Americans and undersampled hispanics severely.
Do you really think that there will be a +9% democratic voter advantage when registered democrats have never exceeded 40% even during the Great Depression? Consider that Obama steamed to power under a 6 point democrat voter advantage and in 2010, the democrat advantage was down to +3 points? Add to that in the 10 swing states Democrat registrations are down 800,000 and Republicans are down 80,000 and independents are up by hundreds of thousands?
Polls are only as good as how well they reflect current trends. There are some of these polls that are seriously not reflective of the trends.
Forget the polls. Look at the Electoral College map. That's all that matters folks.
Now,what you need to do is take ALL the poll numbers from ALL the pollsters and average them..then you get a relatively correct number...then of course you have to add the correction(oh,thats where the pollsters hide what side they are actually working for)and that can be +/- 10% or so till abouit the last three weeks...then it starts to even out..I amm mostly thinnking 35% Romney and 65% Obama because of media bias...it's really bad these days
Are you saying FOX deliberately contracted a polling company with Democratic affiliations? Please allow me to laugh directly in your face, DB!
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
The rest of your post is equally asinine. Fail.
Do you really think that there will be a +9% democratic voter advantage when registered democrats have never exceeded 40% even during the Great Depression?
Get your facts straight. In the 40 through the mid 60s Democrats were in the 50% range. And -- the Republicans have gone so far right that many independents want nothing to do with them. Even Rasmussen has Obama up by 2%.
Here are the polls and FOX is up by 9 points. This is probably going to be the first election in which the Democratic candidate wins by 15-20 points, given the inept GOP wannabe.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html
The facts are straight. Next time take your shoe off before you stick it in your mouth.
BTW
Well http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/ gives
the election over
“Romney, supposedly the Republican most electable next November, is a recidivist reviser of his principles (Flip Flopper) who is not only becoming less electable; he might damage GOP chances of capturing the Senate… Republicans may have found their Michael Dukakis…”
~George Will, blasting Romney’s flip flopping, Washington Post, October 2011
Obama spoke to a sparse crowd again today in New Hampshire..Unlike Paul Ryan in Florida...where 1000's showed up to hear him speak.
Romney/Ryan 2012 - to SAVE Medicare and put some FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY BACK INTO THE WHITE HOUSE.
2300 people in a gymnasium is a sparse crowd?
The only reason so many showed up for Ryan is this area of Florida has a bunch of T-NUTs.
I know because I live here!
Sparse compared to Ryan.....only nuts I know of - are those gather nuts...OBAMA AND CARTER....
Ryan raises big crowds but not Romney. Not even his own party likes him.
Romney has by far had bigger crowds than Obama.
DownTownJulieBrown
... and the population numbers in NH and FL are what? Never mind, just go search for one.
lol @ desperation has set in on the liberal side...Obama is desperate
The only crowd that matters is the one in November.
"About 4,200 people of all ages and colors spread across a green at Colorado College on Thursday in this conservative city for a rally with President Obama. Hours earlier, 3,500 supporters did the same in smaller Pueblo, Colo
Together with two events on Wednesday in Denver and Grand Junction, Colo., an estimated 14,100 people in this battleground state turned out over the past two days to cheer Mr. Obama.
Good crowds, especially compared with the hundreds that typically turn out to see Mitt Romney."
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/10/us/politics/campaign-events-for-president-obama-are-not-drawing-crowds-like-2008.html
Romney didn't start drawing big crowds till he co-opted Ryan.
Like I said, people don't like Romney.
I'd consider myself a left leaning Independent (have voted for both parties). But the repub's I talk with of course hate Obama and use the GOP/Faux Snooze talking points to get their point across. None of them say much of depth about Romney...they don't know him. And I think that is how most repubs sit...they just don't know Romney nor really want him but feel they have to vote for him because he's the one against Obama. Kinda like simply voting AGAINST one thing....not FOR something important.
Thinking back a few months ago...the GOP Primaries all had very voter low turn-out. Romney spent the most money by far (sometimes 7 to 1) and didn't say anything. He's trying the same game plan now...but people (non-Republicans) want something more than just his same old 'blame game' strategy. If Romney has ideas....great. But he needs to express them NOW, and back them up with some level of detail. Vague generalities don't work very long.
You must remember that from the very beginning Mitt Romney, was the "ANYONE BUT" default candidate of the Republican Party.
During the Republican Primaries the most frequent description of the votes cast by Republican voters were for "Anyone BUT Romney!"
Of all the candidates in the Republican Primary, ...
(that is Snow Whitey and her 7 Dwarves: Michele Bachmann along with Ron Paul, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Job Hunstman, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and finally Mitt Romney)
... at one time or other, during the Republican Primaries, polls showed one or the other of them as the front runner always ahead of Mitt Romney. The majority Republican voter sentiment was always "Anyone BUT Romney!"
It wasn't really until after most of them "suspended" their campaigns that Romney finally became the leading candidate, but only by virtue of the fact that he outlasted by out-spending the rest. Mitt Romney was the default candidate left at the end of the bloody gauntlet.
Romney was simply the sole survivor of one of the most NEGATIVE intra-party campaigns anyone has ever seen in modern American politics. He wasn't the winner. Romney was simply the last survivor. He was what was left, after all the others had been beaten-up like; a gay blond prep student who was thrown down on the floor and had his hair cut off by the big bad bully. Guess who the big bad DEFAULT bully CANDIDATE was? Yes, that would be
Mitt "ANYONE BUT" Romney
Now that it has been established that Mitt Romney is the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party, right here on these very blogs more often than not you will see the conservative Republicans advertise --- "Anyone But Obama!" far more frequently than they post anything at all like or even close to a "Romney 2012".
Why do they prefer ANYONE (but Obama), over "Romney 2012"?
Simple!
Because they still DO NOT LIKE Mitt Romney. They just feel they are stuck with him. And, apparently they are.
A candidate who has that little real support, from his own party, doesn't stand a snowball's chance on the Sun of beating an incumbent President who is loved and respected by the vast majority of his party, including African Americans who are predominantly Democrats, as well as the majority of clear thinking independent non-partisan swing voters of all races, creeds and colors!
Here are 56 things Republicans have had to say about Mitt Romney.
1. “If you have things to hide, then maybe you’re doing things wrong. I think you ought to be willing to release everything to the American people.“
~Alabama Governor Robert Bentley, calling for Romney to release more years of tax returns, AP, July 14, 2012
2. “Now Mitt is not a perfect candidate. He has a number of problems. It’s hard for him, for blue collar families like mine to identify with him. It’s hard for economic conservatives to identify with him. He needs to do more to reach out to Latinos…”
~Former Republican NY Governor George Pataki, “endorsing” Romney and then telling the world how weak he is as a candidate, MSNBC, April 2012
3. “They (voters) want to know what’s the truth. They’re not interested in a chameleon.”
~Michele Bachmann, criticizing Mitt Romney’s flip flopping, speech in Florida, December 2011
4. “Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. It’s almost like an Etch-A-Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all over again. But I will say, if you look at the exit polling data in Illinois, you’ll see that Mitt Romney is broadly acceptable to most of the factions in the party. You have to do that in order to become the nominee…”
~Romney Communications Director Eric Fehrnstrom, describing his boss as a man who can’t make up his mind, CNN, March 21, 2012

7. “I do know that all of the Michigan delegation worked very hard as related to the revival of the auto industry. There was really a choice between bankruptcy and liquidation. There was no one that was willing to come up not only with the cash to keep them afloat but also to serve the warranties of everyone, you and I that drive all these cars. There was no one that could have picked up those pieces other than the federal government. [The auto bailout was] bipartisan from the get-go. [Without it,] Michigan would have hit 40 percent unemployment rates.”
~Republican Michigan Rep. Fred Upton, endorsing Romney and then disagreeing with him about the auto bailout which has been a major Romney attack point, WMUK Radio, February 2012
8. “Mitt Romney and I don’t agree on every issue and certainly housing is one of them. When you look at what is going on here in Southern Nevada, you can’t say you got to let the housing market hit bottom. We have been bouncing along the bottom for years. And the fact is we have to do everything possible to: 1) keep people in their homes and 2) get people who are out of their homes back into their homes.”
~Republican Nevada Rep. Joe Heck, endorsing Romney, then distancing himself from Romney’s call to let home foreclosures hit the bottom, Las Vegas Sun, February 2012

~Former AZ Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen, endorsing Romney and then tearing him down, CNN, February 2012.
10. “Gone are the days when the Republican Party used to put forward big bold visionary stuff…We’re gonna have problems politically until we get some sort of third party movement or some alternate voice out there that can put forward new ideas.”
~Jon Huntsman, saying that we need a third party not long after endorsing Romney. Also implying that Romney is not bold, nor a visionary leader, “Morning Joe,” MSNBC, February 2012
11. “He may not be Mr. Personality, uh, you know, this is a guy who gives a fireside chat and the fire goes out.”
~Former GOP Virginia Rep. Tom Davis, endorsing Romney and then announcing how bland and boring Mitt is, News Channel 8 interview, March 2012
12. “Self-deport? What the heck does that mean? I have no doubt Hispanics have been alienated during this campaign. But now there’s an opportunity for Gov. Romney to have a sincere conversation about what we can do and why. I absolutely advocate for comprehensive immigration reform. Republicans want to be tough and say, ‘Illegals, you’re gone.’ But the answer is a lot more complex than that.”
~New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez, slamming Romney’s stance on immigration, Newsweek, May 2012
13. “Pick any other Republican in the country. He is the worst Republican in
the country to put up against Barack Obama.”
~Rick Santorum, calling Mitt Romney the worse Republican anyone can possibly pick to be the nominee, Racine, Wisconsin, March 2012
14. “He should release the tax returns tomorrow. It’s crazy. You’ve got to release six, eight, ten years back tax returns. Take the hit for a day or two. He has to give a big speech in defense of capitalism, and that will elevate, I think, this race above this tactical back and forth, which I do think he’s on the margin of losing.”
~Bill Kristol, criticizing Romney’s refusal to release tax returns on Fox News, July 15, 2012
15. “He glosses over and doesn’t even tell the truth. … Here is a guy who is the ultimate flip-flopper running for president, and he’s attacking me for not being principled? That doesn’t wash.”
~Rick Santorum, campaign event in Tennessee, February 2012
16. “Mitt Romney’s losing at this point in a big way. If something’s going to come out, get it out in a hurry. I do not know why — given that Mr. Romney knew the day that [Sen. John] McCain lost in 2008 that he was going to run for president again — that he didn’t get all of this out and tidy up some of his offshore accounts and all the rest.”
~George Will, criticizing Romney for not releasing more tax returns, ABC, July 15, 2012

17. “One of Governor Romney’s aides today on television said that Governor Romney, after he wins the primaries, will be like an [Etch A Sketch] — you take whatever he said and you can shake it up and it will be gone, and he’s going to draw a whole new picture for the general election.”
~Rick Santorum, Harvey, Louisiana, March 2012
18. “I do not yet know if I will find a Romney presidency more acceptable on foreign policy. But I do know that I must oppose the most recent statements made by Mitt Romney in which he says he, as president, could take us to war unilaterally with Iran, without any approval from Congress.”
~Rand Paul, National Review, June 2012
19. “We can’t nominate such a weak candidate. I’d love to be able to get one-on-one with Gov. Romney and expose the record that would be the weakest record we could possibly put up against Barack Obama.”
~Rick Santorum, ABC, March 2012
20. “Gov. Romney has claimed to have created 100,000 jobs at Bain and people are wanting to know, is there proof of that claim? And was it U.S. jobs created for United States citizens?”
~Sarah Palin, Hannity, January 2012
21. “I heard Governor Romney here called me an economic lightweight because I wasn’t a Wall Street financier like he was. Do you really believe this country wants to elect a Wall Street financier as the president of the United States? Do you think that’s the experience that we need? Someone who’s going to take and look after as he did his friends on Wall Street and bail them out at the expense of Main Street America.”
~Rick Santorum, Rockford, Illinois, March 2012
22. “I don’t know who all of his advisers are, but I’ve seen some of the names and some of them are quite far to the right. And sometimes they might be in a position to make judgments or recommendations to the candidate that should get a second thought.”
~Colin Powell, MSNBC, May 2012
23. “Running a business is not the same as being president of the United States.”
~Rick Santorum, CNN, March 2012
24. “If you’re not sure about whether to support Mitt Romney, whether you’re liberal, or whether you’re very conservative, you ought to be excited, because he’s been on your side at one time or another. So I’m not completely misunderstood. I’m not as excited as I am desperate.”
~Louie Gohmert, Republican conference, April 2012
25. “Governor Romney supported the bailout of Wall Street and decided not to support the bailout of Detroit.”
~Rick Santorum, Detroit, Michigan, February 2012
26. “At some point he has to show that he has a vision of a better way. He can’t just say ‘The future is bleak, follow me.’ Because no one will.”
~Republican strategist Mark McKinnon, according to Politico
27. “This is the free enterprise system. The only place in the world that I can recall where companies never failed was the old Soviet Union. This is what investors do in the free enterprise and capitalism system. And, yes, the free enterprise system can be cruel. But the problem with this administration is that small businesses have been the ones that have suffered the most, the kind that need investors, the kind that don’t need the hundreds of pages, the thousands of pages of regulations that continue to plague them and have them continue to hold back on hiring and investment.”
~John McCain, calling Romney’s tenure at Bain ‘cruel,’ Fox News, May 2012
28. “He changed his position on virtually everything. I’m a moderate Republican, that’s what I am, so I’d be inclined to support someone like Mitt Romney. But all those changes give me pause.”
~Rudy Giuliani, February 2012
29. “If Mitt Romney can be pushed around, intimidated, coerced, co-opted by a conservative radio talk show host in Middle America, then how is he going to stand up to the Chinese? How is he going to stand up to Putin? How is he going to stand up to North Korea if he can be pushed around by a yokel like me? I don’t think Romney is realizing the doubts that this begins to raise about his leadership.”
~American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer during his radio program, May 2012
30. “I’ve never seen a guy change his position so many times, so fast, on a dime.”
~Rudy Giuliani, MSNBC, December 2011
31. “We’re not going to beat Barack Obama with some guy who has Swiss bank accounts, Cayman Island accounts, owns shares of Goldman Sachs while it forecloses on Florida and is himself a stockholder in Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac while he tries to think the rest of us are too stupid to put the dots together to understand what this is all about.”
~Newt Gingrich, Mt. Dora, Florida. January 26, 2012
32. “Don’t just talk about Hispanics and say immediately we must have controlled borders. It’s kind of insulting when you think about it. Change the tone would be the first thing. Second, on immigration, I think we need to have a broader approach.”
~Jeb Bush, criticizing Romney’s stance on immigration and his attitude toward Hispanics, Q&A session, June 2012
33. “[Mitt Romney is a] Massachusetts moderate who, in fact, is pretty good at managing the decay.” He’s “given no evidence in his years in Massachusetts of any ability to change the culture or change the political structure.”
~Newt Gingrich, Des Moines, Iowa, January 4, 2012
34. “You can talk about the other back and forth, and flip-flopping and the other things. … If you’ve wrapped yourself up in too many pledges, that diminishes your ability to do what needs to be done in the final stretch to some extent.”
~Jon Huntsman, MSNBC, April 2012
35. “You can’t be a perfectly lubricated weather vane on the important issues of the day, whether it’s Libya, whether it’s the debt ceiling, whether it’s the discussion around the Kasich bill in Ohio, where Gov. Romney has been missing in action in terms of showing any kind of leadership.”
~Jon Huntsman, CNN, October 2011
36. “Can we drop a little bit of the pious baloney? The fact is, you ran in ’94 and lost. That’s why you weren’t serving in the Senate with Rick Santorum. The fact is, you had a very bad re-election rating, you dropped out of office, you had been out of state for something like 200 days preparing to run for president. You didn’t have this interlude of citizenship while you thought about what you do. You were running for president while you were governor.”
~Newt Gingrich, NBC News/ Facebook debate, January 8, 2012
37. “I would just have a different policy than what he has espoused… We need to recognize we are not going to deport 12 million people, and … we shouldn’t.”
~Haley Barbour, criticizing Romney’s ‘self-deportation’ immigration stance, Christian Science Monitor breakfast, June 2012
38. “Now you have to ask a question – is that really, is capitalism really about the ability of a handful of rich people to manipulate the lives of thousands of other people and walk off with the money? Or is that in fact somehow a little bit of a flawed system? And so I do draw distinction between looting a company, leaving behind broken families and broken neighborhoods and then leaving a factory that should be there.”
~Newt Gingrich, Manchester, NH, January 9, 2012
39. “Maybe Governor Romney in the spirit of openness should tell us how much money he’s made off of how many households that have been foreclosed by his investments.”
~Newt Gingrich, CNN debate, January 26, 2012
40. “Clearly while the president is overseas, he’s at a conference and while the president is overseas I think it’s appropriate that people not be critical of him or our country.”
~John Boehner, in response to a question by NBC News on whether Mitt Romney’s criticism of President Obama is inappropriate since Obama was in Russia at the time, March 2012
41. “Now, for Romney to believe that somebody’s grandmother is going to be so cut off she is going to self deport… He certainly shows no concern for the humanity of people who are already here… I think you have to live in worlds of Swiss bank accounts and Cayman Island accounts and automatic $20 million a year income with no work to have some fantasy this far from reality.”
~Newt Gingrich, Univision, January 25, 2012
42. “This is a man whose staff created the PAC, his millionaire friends fund the PAC, he pretends he has nothing to do with the PAC – it’s baloney. He’s not telling the American people the truth… I just think he ought to be honest with the American people and try to win as the real Mitt Romney, not try to invent a poll-driven, consultant-guided version that goes around with talking points, and I think he ought to be candid. I don’t think he’s being candid and that will be a major issue. From here on out from the rest of this campaign, the country has to decide: Do you really want a Massachusetts moderate who won’t level with you to run against Barack Obama who, frankly, will just tear him apart? He will not survive against the Obama machine.”
~Newt Gingrich, CBS’ “The Early Show,” January 3, 2012
43. “Those of us who believe in free markets and those of us who believe that in fact the whole goal of investment is entrepreneurship and job creation, we find it pretty hard to justify rich people figuring out clever legal ways to loot a company, leaving behind 1,700 families without a job.” ~Newt Gingrich, January 8, 2012
44. “Now I have no doubt that Mitt Romney was worried about pink slips — whether he was going to have enough of them to hand out because his company Bain Capital with all the jobs that they killed, I’m sure he was worried that he’d run out of pink slips. There is something inherently wrong when getting rich off failure and sticking it to someone else is how you do your business and I happen to think that’s indefensible. If you’re a victim of Bain Capital’s downsizing, it’s the ultimate insult for Mitt Romney to come to South Carolina and tell you he feels your pain, because he caused it.”
~Rick Perry, South Carolina, January 9, 2012
45. ” I think it’s that program, just updated.”
~RNC spokesman Alexandra Franceschi, admitting that Romney’s economic plan is the Bush plan on steroids, The Fernando Espuelas Show, April 2012
46. “There’s a real difference between venture capitalism and vulture capitalism. Venture capitalism we like. Vulture capitalism, no. And the fact of the matter is that he’s going to have to face up to this at some time or another, and South Carolina is as good a place to draw that line in the sand as any. That’s not what we’re looking for in a president of the United States. We’re looking for someone that knows how to build jobs, create jobs. And that’s what I’ve done in the state of Texas. So there’s no use trying to paper this over. That is a problem for Mitt, and he’s going to have to face it.”
~Rick Perry, Hannity, January 2012
47. “I think that it has to be a very humane approach to this issue, and we have to come up with solutions to it. But we also have to do something about the drugs that are coming across our southern border that are killing our kids… I think there are some people who want to leave this country and return to the country they came from, but obviously it requires a broader solution that that, and we all know that.”
~John McCain, slamming Romney’s ‘self deportation’ immigration plan as an inhumane idea, Univision, February 2012
48. “I know the difference between venture capital[ism] and vulture capitalism. Venture capitalism is a good thing, comes in, gives that gap funding to help these companies get off and get started creating jobs, and work. But Mitt Romney and Bain Capital were involved with what I call vulture capitalism. And they walked into Gaffney and took over that photo album company for no other reason than to basically pick the bones clean. And those people lost their jobs.”
~Rick Perry, referring to a local photo-album manufacturer in Gaffney where 150 jobs were cut when Bain assumed control, January 10, 2012
49. “I believe most Americans want their next President to remind them of the guy they work with, not the guy who laid them off.”
~Mike Huckabee, describing Mitt Romney in a 2008 campaign ad.
50. “There is no one who’s gonna be sitting on that stage who has the record of job creation I have. There’s one in particular who’s created jobs all around the world. While he was the governor of Massachusetts he didn’t create many jobs.”
~Rick Perry, attacking Romney’s record of outsourcing and job creation, September 2011
51. “Romney, supposedly the Republican most electable next November, is a recidivist reviser of his principles who is not only becoming less electable; he might damage GOP chances of capturing the Senate… Republicans may have found their Michael Dukakis…”
~George Will, blasting Romney’s flip flopping, Washington Post, October 2011
52. “He spent more time on the road to Damascus than a Syrian camel driver. And we thought nobody could fill John Kerry’s flip-flops! … [Romney's record was] “anything but conservative until he changed all the light bulbs in his chandelier in time to run for President.”
~Mike Huckabee, attacking Romney in his book for flip flopping, Do The Right Thing, 2008
53. “Bless his heart, I have respect for Mitt Romney, but I do not have respect for what he has done through this debt increase debate. He waited until it was a done deal that we would increase the debt ceiling and more money would be spent, more money would be borrowed and spent on bigger government, and then he came out and made a statement that he didn’t like the deal after all. You can’t defer an issue and assume that the problem is then going to be avoided.”
~Sarah Palin, ripping Romney for avoiding taking a position on the debt ceiling debate until after Congress voted to raise it, Hannity, August 2011
54. “I don’t think that Mitt Romney can legitimately say that he learned anything about how to create jobs in the LBO (leveraged buyout) business. The LBO business is about how to strip cash out of old, long-in-the-tooth companies and how to make short-term profits. All the jobs that he talks about came from Staples. That was a very early venture stage deal. That, you know they got out of long before it got to its current size.”
~Former Reagan OMB Director David Stockman, on Romney’s job creation experience, Fox News, May 2012
55. “The fact is, there are a couple of years he may not have paid any taxes. Maybe he’s concerned about that. But if it’s going to come out, he needs to get it out now so he has a couple of months to explain it.”
~Former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough, “Morning Joe,” MSNBC, July 16, 2012
56. “All we have to do is replace Obama. We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don’t need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don’t need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate. Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become President of the United States. This is a change for Republicans: the House and Senate doing the work with the president signing bills. His job is to be captain of the team, to sign the legislation that has already been prepared.”
DownTown
From the article above;
God bless you Julie.
But just perhaps, the Windham High School Gymnasium only has a Occupancy Load of of 2,300 as per local and state Fire Codes.
Salud.
Sorry Barack, you had your chance and now according to the Labor Dept, last month 44 states saw their unenjoyment rates INCREASE. Time to stimulate the economy by the only way you can. Hire a moving company to pack your stuff back to Chicago. You said you would be a 1 termer if you couldn't fix it. Keep your promise.
Yep, Republicans should have passed Obama's jobs bill and we would be under 8% unemployment right now.
One more time, Eric, and then I give up on you. How many jobs bills are still sitting on Harry Reid's desk in his Senate office? One house of Congress can't do it alone; it takes both houses to get a bill to the president's desk. Or have you forgotten that simple bit of government knowledge?
Reid has several Jobs bills passed by the House. Some of them Bi-partisan. Yet he wont give them the time of day. Shows how much he cares about getting America back to work. He is doing it so Obama , Pelosi and he can lie about no jobs bills from the House.
Name ONE bill that is a job bill that was passed by the house and held up in the Senate.
Just one.
And dismantling the EPA is not a jobs bill.
Bob, none of the bills on Harry Reid's desk are jobs bills.
They are giveaways to big oil, and the deregulation of clean air and water.
Bob, it is a sad fact the GOP has not proposed a single bill that was intended to create jobs in America. Where do you find such nonsense? Do you just make it up or are you hanging out on those right wing extremist zombie sites again?
Eric,
Every jobs bill passed by Reid calls for raising taxes. Raising taxes results in lost jobs. Most of the Republican Jobs bills called for cuts in either regulation or tariffs that would make American jobs more competitive. Reid simply calls them tax cuts for he rich and ignores them.
The CBO says that over 700,000 jobs will be lost if the Bush tax cuts to the "rich" are eliminated.
Given that piece of information from such a "non-partisan" source, you should conclude that the democrat plans HURT rather than help.
How many jobs bills are still sitting on Harry Reid's desk in his Senate office?
I too would like to know which 'jobs' bills are sitting on Senator Reid's Desk.
Could you please list the numbers so I can look them up?
The bill is assigned a number, (e.g. HR 1 or S 1) and is labeled with the sponsor's name.
Thank You.
Salud.
This is football preseason. I watch these games where players who failed to produce last year are given a final chance to prove they deserve to stay with their team as the trade deadline looms weeks away. In most cases, the coaches and owners have already made up their minds about the player and hoping to get the most value out of a trade. Is the UN or Kenya interested in a trade for Obama?
Republicans should have chosen Huntsman. They are going to lose big with Romney.
I think you still have to be able to produce to be valuable in a trade. If you can't produce, you're out on your backside (or in this case, backside to Chicago).
Huntsman is McCain II. That’s why he is every liberal’s favorite Republican. They know they can beat him. Never expect the enemy to tell you the best way to beat them.
Republicans don't know how to produce, they do know how to obstruct.
Republicans should have chosen Huntsman.
Eric, Historically Republicans lose 2 votes for every 1 moderate vote they get. Huntsman is a moderate. That would only have encouraged the conservatives to stay home or consider voting for Gary Johnson who is the Libertarian candidate.
I am curious….. has any Romney in any generation ever served in the U.S. Military? I did find that Obama's grandfather was in WWII.
We’ve been at war for ten years and Mitt has these fine strapping five athletic sons…none ever served. I looked up his dad George Romney. No shown history of service. George Romney was in the auto business in WWII. Romney’s grandparents left the country for Mexico to practice polygamy and left Mexico to come back to the U.S. when they heard the gunshots of the Mexican Revolution.
Funny family history for Americans.
You were joking right? A Romney serving in the Armed Forces? Like you said Gramps did, Back in WWII if you didn't volunteer you were a coward. That's probably the only reason gramps went. and if you were drafted you had almost no chance of a deferment.
Clinton nor any of his family ever fought in a war as I remember. So what if Romney or if Family in the past ever fought in a war. There are alot of politicians who didnt fight in wars. Thats the Norm. for Washington.
This is not about who served and who didnt. Its about our freedom, our economy, our lack of jobs ,etc,
have you ever heard Obama take any blame for his mistakes. NO He is not man enough or moral enough to admit that. I wont trust anyone who wont admit to failure.
He also promised the people he would fix the Economy or not run again. Well there is he is running again and the economy is in even worse shape. Looks like he cant remember which lie he said.
Prove it! Or are you related to Harry Reid and want to just say that it is an Anonymous source?
Fuzzy
Mitt did have a deferment, but when it was over he too was registered with the selective service, but his number, 300, was not selected.
Downtown,
I'm not surprised the seniors are turning out so big. Gallup or Rasmussen polling is showing that Florida seniors are more afraid of what the ACA is doing to Medicare, than what Mitt or Paul will do to it.
President Obama has served the last three years 7 months and Commander In Chief of ALL United States Armed Forces. The highest ranking member of America's Military. He was the one who got Osama bin Laden!
BTW, Barack Obama registered with the Selective Service in Hawaii when he was 18 years old as required by law. There was no draft at that time, and there was no mandatory requirement for service in the military. He, like all other Americans his age, had the freedom to choose the military or another path.
Mitt Romney, on the other hand, spoke out in favor of the Viet Nam War, and the Draft, while he sought numerous deferments from the Draft, and ultimately dodged the Draft by going on a "Mission" for the LDS to France, just as many non-LDS draft dodgers went on their "Missions" to Canada, and elsewhere. Mitt was eligible to serve during the Viet Nam War but chose to dodge his opportunity to serve his country in its hour of need.
On January20, 1961 President Kennedy said this during his Inaugural address:
Mitt Romney would have been about 14 years old then, but 4 years later when he was 18 he answered President Kennedy's call to patriotism and Mitt said, "No Thanks!"
Actually, what Mitt really said much much later, and this is documented fact, was this...
COMMENTS?
DTJB,
The article said that Obama talked to a packed gym of about 2300 people.
Ryan talked in a retirement village of 50,000 people and about 1,000 came out.
Keeping you honest.
And where is Romney?
Oh! he is on Cap Cod at two private fundraisers.
You do know Romney has outsourced his own campaign ... its the Romney business plan.... beware.
Obama goes to Cape Cod as well to fund-raise...AND HIGH FLUENT VACATIONS....your point?
Obama has fund-raisers nearly everyday....but you are ok with that
I've never seen so many jealous, envious libbies..who hate wealth. You people are so jealous of anyone who is successful..it is absolutely astounding. Perhaps you should try it for yourself instead of mooching off the taxpayers.
From an Orlando newspaper...
The Villages is a massive retirement community about 50 miles northwest of Orlando, and one of the biggest Republican strongholds in Florida. A fire marshal estimated 10,000 people attended the event
look at the pictures
http://twitchy.com/2012/08/18/paul-ryan-and-his-mom-visit-the-villages-pics-highlights-and-literal-swooning/
Counting all the pictures and the number of people in each one ... maybe several hundred.
You're just mad because Obama had a sparse crowd compared to Ryans...Americans are sick of Obama's daily lies.
Actually, I am having a pleasant and relaxed day as is shown by my ability to be rational while counting.
So America is heartened by Ryan and Romney daily lies? How refreshing.
Republicans think they can buy the white house.
They can't.
Really, just where is cap cod? Bain started outsourcing after Romney left, so get your facts straight. Do a little research and find out how may jobs he saved while with Bain.
Eric
Obama BOUGHT the White House in 2008. 2012 is another chance for Mitt, Barack, or Gary to buy it!
Northstar, the local fire marshall counted the croud. Fire Marshalls count real well and start throwing people out when the capacity of an area is exceeded.
"Obama opens campaign swing "
LOL...I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that. What would be real news is when the President opens his office door and does some work.
That would be news...
Obama has been campaigning for 4 years now...
I thought to "swing" you had to be able and willing to swap wives. Or is that too old-school for most of us?
Romney/Ryan are winning in all the swing states?
In all the swinger states?
In what is now a well-known exchange from ABC News’ January 2008 Republican presidential debate at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, Mitt Romney declared
when asked by moderator Charlie Gibson about his approach to health care reform in Massachusetts.
2012 nomobama, nomoromney; they're all liars, they all don't care about the usa, it's over for the usa and what is coming will make vietnam pale in comparison.
america has been misused, abused and left confused for much too long, it's time the tyrannts and the oppressors start to feel the effects of their ungodly policies. God is going to make sure of that, they bring it upon themselves for not making Godly decisions and choosing to follow the deceiver, the prince of the air.
God is going to show His rightous indignation upon the nations who turn from Him to follow the way of the creature. His word is clear on that. no amount of manmade legislation will change what God is going to do to those who promulgate the agenda of the prince of the air.
Read Romans 13 then rewrite what you you wrote.
Loony tunes 64480092, you are so wrong! God loves us and he is going to make everything OK. But, for people like you there is going to be eternal damnation and hellfire. You are going to hell for your blasphemy! God doesn't like it when you spew lies in His name. For shame.

6448092--Santa in the sky doesn't care about you or anything else on this speck of dust. We are just too insignificant. We have to take care of ourselves and that does not involve gazing up and waiting for manna.
We have to get more people pulling together and realizing that we're all we've got. Just taxes that will pay for the things we can only do together--equal opportunity for a decent education that starts before kindergarten--equality for all citizens and church for only those who want it. Leave the rest of us alone.
greycat, Evidently the humor was lost on you- but rather than just tell you to "lighten up", I will also tell you that whenever someone starts telling you that they know God's will, its time to start playing loony tunes. By the way I thought God was without a sex... in any case one can only be left wondering did God tell them this directly, or did they pick it up somewhere else; and what else has God been telling them? And by the way God doesn't care about anyone. And let me make it clear for you, my idea of God is that somehow the Universe came into being some 13.7 billion years ago-you can call that a creation of or from God-but in my opinion there is no proof that God has had anything to do with this Universe since then. But didn't He do enough? An entire Universe and we can believe anything we want. And people will believe anything.
We know him very well here, first of all he lied to get on the ballot. He was never a Mass resident when he ran, Like now he refused to released his taxes where all the evidence would have showed that he was not qualified to contest. I am sure he will not get away from showing his taxes this time around. His secrecy and transperncy is now in question. He raised so many fees here to claim he did not raise taxes. Besides he purchased his administration computer hard disc's and hard drive when he finished his one term, he knew re election was impossible. The guy is a crook, he likes to cover his tracks and behind after his disdadly acts.
He has showed 1 year and another year is coming soon....John McCain only showed Obama 2 years..Obama was satisfied with that...Obama is running scared so he thinks if he can make the TAX issue...the issue...he'll win......the ISSUE IS THE ECONOMY...THE FAILURE OF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO STRAIGHTEN OUT OUR ECONOMY....after promising to do so....Obama said he'd be a ONE TERM PROPOSITION...AND HE KNOWS HE WILL BE.
If anything at all...was amiss with Romney's taxes...the IRS, Geithner and the FBI would be all over Romney like Flies to Sugar....You libbies certainly cannot be that delusional.
hey, barry, instead of puking up your garbage all over N H , why dont you tell the ignorant ,paid, audience why you are spending 1.5 mil on keeping your cruddy little secrets hidden from them.
lol I see the "he spent millions to seal his college records" thing is making the rounds today. You do know that you can't seal college records, right?
[John McCain only showed Obama 2 years..]
Uh, DTJB...McCain only had to show two years because his taxes, as a U.S. Senator, were a matter of public record, as most all elected officials over the office of governor are.
Did you just leave that part out by accident, as a matter of "convenience", or are you just as ignorant as ever?
No need to answer, we already know...
And I'm not even going to bother rebutting the other misconceptions in your post...
Boy did he ever raise fees...$45 to go from one side of the state to the other on the Pike..OUWCH!
Lost my job under the Republican leadership, got another job after a year unemployed under the Dems. At 63, I am thankful for what I've got and just cannot think of going back to chaos and uncertainty. An easy choice for me...
good for you line' ....thats great that were able to find a job at all.
america lost lost 3 million jobs since obama took office, you are lucky you found something and dont have to live off of food stamps.
maybe after the election we wont lose 350k jobs a month. i dont think americans trust obama to do anything about jobs anymore.
No your lying again just like Ryan. 3 1/2 million jobs were created under the POTUS. it was George Bush who created 3 million jobs in 8 years, lied to get us into two wars, to pay for those wars Bush put them on a supplemental budget, Bush/TARP, Bush/Auto Bail out. Republicans are liars and thieves for the 1%. The 99% has been watching and listening. Mission Accomplished, thanks for that line our former Commander in Grief GWB.
Pee Wee Herman has a son. Ayn Rand is voting for Ryan. Ryan lies and blames his staff. Votes for the Auto Bail out, then rails against it, then ask for money. Ryan is a deficit hawk. Voted for both wars to be put on a supplemental budget, voted for TARP, voted for the Bush tax cuts which caused 1Trillion to the deficit with no way to pay for it. Ms Rand would be proud. 12years of the Bush tax cuts and no jobs, unless you call India and China America. Truth, Justice and the American way for the 1%.
Why spend so much time bickering over a done deal? Romney/Ryan just doesn't appeal to enough voters to win in November.
Sure, R/R have a devoted and angry base, but 10% of the electorate ain't gonna cut it come Election Day, and the ever-growing 50% of concerned Republicans and Independent voters just can't accept Romney's intransigence regarding the release of his taxes, especially the 2009 return.
The ONLY excitement in the pipeline is whether Ron Paul's delegation will go off the reservation at the Republican convention.
Everything else is already decided.
getting your numbers from liars doesnt cut it. you must be part of barry's or whatever his name is, propaganda machine.
cleetus,
When you're finished watching Deliverance and done reminiscing about your kin pegged to that tree branch by Burt's arrow, then we'll talk.
One thing is for sure, you can't believe much of what you hear from either candidate.
You don't like Obama, so you're going to vote for a tax evasion specialist????? It boggles the mind!
Correction. Obama is still liked by most Americans based on the polls. But the same polls are saying half of Americans disapprove of his job performance. 62% say Romney is better to handle the economy which is the top issue for voters. And one issue nobody is talking about is the war in Afghanistan. Obama said it will go at least through 2014.
Suzi - Obama is a failure and a robber. Your inability to grasp that is the only thing that is mind boggling.
Afghanistan is a done deal,It;s scheduled to be done with in 2014
Gee what short memories I know any idiot could have pulled us from the brink of disaster and if they had been a republican incomes for the middle class would be doubled my now. Of course the President is a failure in the eyes of people who think going from losing jobs every month to creating jobs each month is nothing unless every single aspect of the economy has been fixed beyond imagination...Jessuss
Grumpster,
Could the idiots who got us IN to the disaster have pulled us back from the brink? You know, Bush, Cheney, and Paulson? As I recall, THEY were Republicans, too.
Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, Schumer and the rest of WAR MONGER democrats.
obama is "creating jobs" ? ...where...in china ?
...we are still losing 350,000 jobs a month
1.6 MILLION new UNemployment claims for the Month of July....wtg Obama!!! your destruction continues.
Keck, do you have credible evidence to support that statement or are you listening to the voices in your head again?
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf
So why did'nt they jump when the Republicans were in office the previous 8 years?
geez I'm gonna have to turn the channel. he's pretending to be a patriot again.
They know Romney sucks! OBAMA 2012!!!
A political parody song written by Bruce-1628250, to the tune of "If You're Happy And You Know It"
Mark Halperin: 'The Media Is Very Susceptible to Doing What the Obama Campaign Wants'
"The Obama folks clearly know they've found some traction on this tax return issue with Romney," said NBC's Lester Holt. "And then of course late in the week comes this challenge--'give us a little more and we won't complain anymore.' Has this issue come to the point it's jumped the shark?"
"I think the press still likes this story a lot, the media is very susceptible to doing what the Obama campaign wants, which is to focus on this," said Halperin.

Halperin dutiful admitted today....that's what the Media does.....the Media does what OBAMA TELLS THEM TO DO.
I've seen Mica on the Morning Joe show.....texting with Valerie Jarrett...while on air....and If Jarrett hears something she doesn't like...she lets Mica know....and Mica airs that on National TV.
Only the stupid would believe anything that Obama says at this point.
And I want to see Mitt's 2009 tax return
Ryan "means it" when it comes to eviscerating government as a tool to help the middle class and improve society. He would end Medicare and replace it with inadequate vouchers, thereby causing recipients to pay $6,000 - $13,000 more per year. Ryan would raise taxes on the middle class by up to $2,000 per year. And he would destroy the government's ability to invest in infrastructure, education, and other necessary things.
But when it comes to reducing the deficit, Ryan is as much if not more of a fraud as virtually every other conservative has been for the past thirty years. The "savings" from all of Ryan's proposed cuts and tax increases wouldn't go to reducing the deficit. Instead, they would go to increasing military spending, and to $4.3 trillion in tax giveaways to millionaires and billionaires. Under Ryan's plan, Romney would have paid less than 1% in taxes in 2010.
As for the national debt, Ryan's proposal would lead to an increase in the national debt from its 2010 level of 60% of GDP to a peak of nearly 175% by 2050 and remain at 100% or more of GDP through 2080.
In short, Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney aren't offering a serious conversation about deficits. Instead, they are offering the GOP agenda of taking from the middle class to give to the wealthy
on steroids.
I have travelled to many third-world countries where there is no middle-class and little or no opportunity for anyone other than the very wealthy or privilidged. Sadly, it appears that many have been duped into heading the U.S. in that direction.
Now Ryan's an expert on China foreign policy. He's flip flopped on this issue quite a bit. Sounds as if he is ready to dump Romney and go it alone. Just what we need. Of course, his vouchers will destroy medicare. The greedy insurance companies backed by a Romney presidency would raise premium prices way beyond the meager value of the vouchers. They also would limit the total coverage and not cover preexisting conditions and retain the right to kick you out if you become seriously ill. His ideas of ultra religious social rules for women are from another era. No abortions even in the case of rape or incest . Let's make those women suffer for being abused. This is a man without any empathy for the old, the poor and the unfortunate. Perfect qualifications for a VP. This is a guy who has never had a real job and has lived off the dole of the government. What does he know of real people and their lives and problems? If you don't believe this you have your head buried in the baloney of the Ryan/Romney campaign.
Romney made 75 million off of dead babies. The guy is a sicko
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/07/romney-bain-abortion-stericycle-sec
lmao @ motherjones left wing Obama media......
You need a better RELIABLE source...so you don't look so delusional.
Romney wasn't at Bain Capital when they invested in Stericycle.....
but someone has to clean up the messes made from Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics.
Now I know you are not female. Voting for the probers obviously.
dal - "Romney made 75 million off of dead babies"
If he can do that then our economy may still have a chance. Obama couldn't make 75 cents off a gold mine, but he'd gladly spend $5 trillion in bribes and handouts while trying.
pjam09
Very funny!!!! needed a good chuckle. Thanks
BCWC,
DTJB, Harley chic and German gem are not female.
