Mitt Romney introduced Paul Ryan as his vice presidential running mate which energized the Republican base and helped the campaign raise $10 million online, but his selection also changed the issues the campaigns are focusing on, with Medicare reform taking center stage this week.
Video edited by NBC's Matt Loffman

One week later and nothing has changed since the selection of Eddie Munster!
Poll numbers stagnant - *check*
Tax records still hidden - *check*
Annie the pampered Princess whining at the top of her lungs - *check*
Bald faced lies coming from Team Willard which are to numerous to count - *check*
MSM giving them a free pass - *double check*
Did I miss anything?
Yes, Romney and Ryan are driving the clunker that Bush drove into the ditch. Fresh lipstick, same pig, 0mpg.
1 week old?
This Ryan Baby will never grow up into maturity. When he is less than 3 month old (not yet on his teether yet), his political life will be over as VP nominee with his predictable election loss.
He will go back to his job in the House, since Wisconsin law allows him to run in both races, assuming he is going to keep his usual majority in his recent House races.
Pigotry
It is still a foetus and will be aborted in Virginia come November.
That's the most important and ..lethal
Since Jen is allowed as an Obama campaign staffer to basically go first all the time and then all of her minions follow suit and just parrot her, wouldnt this blog be more interesting if they had a Romney staffer on here too and allowed them to both debate a policy position first before all the real posters let loose? It would be interesting to see if Jen and her followers really have any critical thinking skills and can intelligently debate rather than just relentless personal attacks meant to take the readers mind off of the actual 4 year record of President Obama.
For example, lets have Jen (anonymously posted as Fiesty) provide Obama's record on job growth and his plans for the next four years and allow a Romney staffer to respond and debate. That would be much more interesting than these personal idiotic attacks by both sides with all the factual inaccuracies and silly embellishments and denial of truths. For example, how many times do we have to hear that Obama is cutting medicare or that the Romney/Ryan budget will end medicare for seniors or even younger generations when neither is even close to being factually accurate and is just silly political noise. I am so sick of the Jen's of the world and her minions asking for Romney's tax returns which is just nuts and has nothing to do with any of the current policy issues this country is facing and is just as stupid as asking for Obama's birth certificate and is equivalent to asking for his college transcripts and educational papers. (Although I would love to hear both Jen and Romney's campaign person go at it on this issue)
Feisty.......who is Jen? Our friend Kirk knows something we don't????? lol
Pigotry,
Makes you wonder just how toxic they are when Willard is willing to continue to get pummeled on them!
According to his pampered princess Annie, there's plenty of ammo in them! *KABOOM*
Gingerbread Mamma,
I have no idea... I've had Kirk the jerk on ignore for months!
Too painful to continue to watch someone chase their own tail! ;o)
yep... chris christi is still chunky...
Kirk, that would be to practical. They would much rather smear, lie, distort and call people names...they are who they are and don't truly love this country nor have ever served this country. Well outside of Navy, but he may have been discharged for some mental deficiency.
WTF?
Followed by;
Do ANY of you ever proof read your gibberish?
Kirk-2957282
Kirk, I hereby nominate and elect you as the Romney staffer, stuffer, stiffer, sniffer ... whatever title you want.
Wow. Jen? Where did THAT come from?
I guess the fringe right wing likes to posture about respect for the military, unless that military vet is not a rwnj.
Shame on you JFK.
Feisty? Jen? Did you want to explain that one to me?
Oh. And where are those tax returns Mittens?
The democrat playbook is not working. The democrat economy is not working. The democrats can not influence Romney nor Ryan. The democrats are scared because their one main play has been to call the opponents stupid. Doesn't work here. Bill Clinton once put it very well -- It's the economy stupid. When he was asked about the Jennifer Flowers allegations, he didn't answer. He talked about the economy and on and on. He was a liar and lied before Congress and was impeached.
Calling names, making fun of looks, talking about filed income taxes, talking about horses, talking about dogs and developing lie after lie after lie about Romney and Ryan will not work this time -- and the left's heads are about to explode because nothing is working. The left also sees that they don't have a money advantage this go around -- and they are scared.
Romney was a successful businessman; a successful family man; a successful governor. He is a charitable man who gives his time and money freely like when he stepped in and saved the Olympics from disaster. Only in Obama's wet dreams does he fantasize such a record of true accomplishments.
Ryan comes from good midwestern stalk; he is a successful family man; he is a caring politician as noted by both democrats and republicans as a person who reaches across the aisle successfully to make things happen. They all call him friend. He is a man that even though through adversity at a young age he could have turned to drugs but he showed character -- unlike the man in the oval office today -- and resisted temptations.
Romney and Ryan are truly the Eliot Ness and Lyle Chapman of "The Untouchables" who will stand up to this Al Capone-like gang from Chicago and send them packing. Democrats are unhinged, scared and their heads are exploding because this time they are outmanned by the vision of the citizens for a Better America.
Jen, my sisters liked to call me Kirk the jerk when I was in middle school so I am used to the personal insults that come from the place in the heart that knows I am right but just cant bring themselves to admit it. Lets face it you ignore me because you have no substance and no objectivity and not interested in real debate nor whats in the best interest of this country. All you are interested in is making sure your candidate gets reelected regardless of accomplishments or political positions. Besides the constant religious bigotry, what is really nasty is that you have no shame in the constant petty personal and nasty attacks on Ann Romney. I guarantee that many if not substantially all of the women readers of your posts (regardless of political affiliation) that are not Obama campaign personnel paid or otherwise cringe at your attacks. You remind me of the women who attackes Monica Lewinsky as if she was the predator all because Bill shared your political views or you remind me of the wife who attacks and blames the mistress for her husband's infidelity. You set back woman's rights and roles all in the interest of campaigning for Obama. I know many of these same women who cringe and hate your cruelty and personal attacks wouldnt actually admit it on here but trust me its there.
"Romney comes from good midwestern "stalk"". Was that a corn stalk Ben?
I don't know, Ben, he keeps changing what state he is actually from. He does have that house in La Jolla, CA. You don't think he is **GASP** a California LIBERAL, do you?
Well, I guess he was when he thought it would get him elected in MA.
Ben
WTF does that mean other than he had viable sperm? Oh, I know his wife does not leave him because he has a ton of money and bought her a pony for Christmas.
Feisty - who the hell is Jen????
Wow! The little far righties have their boxers in a bunch today don't they? I guess the fact that they are on the losing team is pretty hard to bear - especially since even their own party is distancing themselves from dumb and dumber - Romney/Ryan!
I took Kirkie off ignore to see what he was ranting about and almost fell out of my chair laughing.
He and the far righties have called President Obama and our First Lady name after name and when the truth is told about Queen Anne - they're offended. Total Hypocrites! But, nothing we don't expect!
Ben - back on your meds! You've become totally unhinged!
Oh well - c'est la vie!
Obama/Biden 2012
Blackcat--are you just like seeking sanity in that all you can do is try to make light and think you are funny on an anonymous blog? Jen is paid and I would prefer to have a Romney campaign paid staffer debate. I am not a Romney paid shrill. I am also not a right wing conservative just a fiscal conservative who voted for Reagan's second term (john Anderson in 1980 the third party candidate) and voted for Clinton. I think both Reagan and Clinton were great leaders and presidents who were pragmatists and collaborators. I think Bush II and Obama are both ideologues and divisive presidents both of which will go down as horrible presidents in historical terms. Do I think Romney is the panacea for all our ills? No but I think his personal success and business knowledge and basic understanding of economic behavior is so far superior to Obama's its our only hope of getting out of our current mess. As for the personat attacks on both Obama and Romney, I find them despicable including by both sides on this blog.
bcwc -- It goes to moral character which can't be attacked. If this was Clinton, one couldn't say that and as far as we know, the president is also a successful family man but unsuccessful at his current job.
@jfk -- They are commonly referred to as trolls in the blog world.
Ndd & Seeking,
I have NO idea?
This must be the latest conspiracy theory floating around today! ;o)
Speaking of "swimmers"...
Can you imagine if Kirk & Blatina reproduced? lmfao!
That may be the strangest conspiracy theory yet! Jen. Nope, like Feisty better.
Seeking Sanity--I dare you to find one post in which I have called Obama or his wife name after name? Come on go find it and I will apologize to you. Is Fiesty's real name Jen? Come on admit it its ok. Besides any Romney supporters on here who do personal attack either the president or his wife, doesnt make it right for you does it? Why not take the high road and maybe you will be more likeable. Lets face it seeking, you are the leading candidate for being Jen's pit bull who is all bite and no substance. When is the last time you won and substantive debate on here versus just using one of your standard personal attack lines you always pull out.
I like it when you call me Kirkie by the way although its spelled Kirky. I know you have missed me but I have been on the North Carolina beach enjoying myself for the last two weeks but I am back. I know I am not really on ignore because you enjoy your vicious attacks on me.
Okay, Feisty, you had me fooled. I never knew I was friends with Jennifer Aniston! Or are you Jennifer Lopez? Jennifer Hudson? Jennifer Love Hewitt? Jennifer Jason Leigh?
As long as we're coming clean here, I'm actually Jennifer Garner myself.
Feisty - and it must be nice to know you're a paid staffer for the Obama campaign. You might want to go pick up those checks! OMG! The far righties ARE getting desperate aren't they?
Can you imagine if Kirk & Blatina reproduced? lmfao! Oh No!!! Please! Anything but that!!!!
Kirk, I'm going to answer you this ONE time. No Feisty's name is NOT Jen and she isn't a paid staffer! What an idiotic comment.
I didn't say YOU called our President or his wife names. But, as usual, you were complaining about Queen Anne's treatment but did not say one single word about the horrible things said about our President or First Lady. As usual, you prove to be a HYPOCRITE!!!!
And, considering your posts and jimmies - you should not put anyone down. You haven't even been around here to know what I post. Done with you now!
Obama/Biden 2012
No, seriously kirk, I LOVE fairy tales. Where did you come up with "Jen"? I need a good laugh.
Nope!
Nothing can beat those nitwits last night! ;o)
That bunch deserved a PRIZE for their paranoia! lol
Screw Princess Annie & her prancing pony!
If she wants to go around sticking her finger in reporters faces... she's fair game as far as I'm concerned!
She'll get the same amount of respect she demonstrates to others!
[Feisty.......who is Jen? Our friend Kirk knows something we don't????? lol]
Seems "kirk" is off his rocker...subscribing to non-troversies and conspiracy theories...he's officially joined Team RWNJ.
WAY TO GO KIRK!
[my sisters liked to call me Kirk the jerk when I was in middle school]
So, you were a jerk way back in middle school? Picked on by your sisters huh...that explains it then. Thanks for sharing that little tidbit, kirk.
Have they given you back your balls yet?
Dang JoAnne, I wanted to be Jennifer Garner! By the by ... you've got some cute kids and one hot husband! ;-)
Well, I would add that Queen Ann has shown us all how to throw a royal, hissy, pissy, prissy fit on national TV. Oh the rage, oh the anger, poor thing almost threw her back out. Apparently she is modeling herself after Coulter. As soon as she can manage a 360 head rotation, complete with green vomit spewing on the wall, she will have it down. Perhaps Bachmann can give her some pointers.
Expect more attacks from the Mitt-Ryan nightmare team. They continue flip-flopping up and down about ALL the issues.
The "PRINCESS" firmly believes that her husband "will saves us" FROM THE BOOGIE MAN. ha ha
[Ryan comes from good midwestern stalk; he is a successful family man.]
Ryan suckled at "the systems" teat as a Social Security baby, and got his college education paid for by American taxpayers from his father's Social Security death benefits.
After college, he was given a job at the family's business back home, and family connections also found him internships on Capitol Hill, and launched his political career.
The man probably never "worked" a day in his life.
The man was a rubber stamp until Obama won the presidency.
He petitioned for stimulus money, then thought he could lie about it.
Was present at a CONFIDENTIAL meeting regarding the pending collapse of the stock market, and couldnt wait to bolt out and sell his shares of the failing banks. The man needs to share a cell with Martha Stewart.
Paul Ryan, who had everything handed to him on a plate, had the balls to tell a Pell Grant recipient to "work three jobs and take out loans to pay for college".
Paul Ryan is a Washington Insider.
Paul Ryan, just like Romney, is a fraud.
No doubt, some circular racial logic would be involved.
Speaking of white boards, er, um wipe-boards, Romney listed future retirees on the the left, and current retirees on the right. It seems the easiest illustration of his plan for future retirees would simply to have just erased them off the board. Wiping out Medicare and ultimately Social Security is his plan after all.
Feisty - I'll let you have Jen. Probably just stick with the name my parents gave me. But you - you get a new name!!! Such fun!!!!
Wow, so instead of addressing any substance, go back and read the nasty personal attacks against me. Mickey, when have I ever said anything about you? Does it make you feel better to attack me like that just because I share a few different political views? Why do all of you Obama supporters feel the need to get into the gutter? Its anonymous if you havent noticed so your words mean nothing. I cant believe you guys really want to win an election based on name calling rather than substance.
Seeking Sanity--I absolutely did call out Romney supporters and said it was wrong but did you real what Reddev just wrote? Do you really think you are a better person by walking around making fun of people for no reason? By the way you really think you have any credibility in responding to me regarding Fiesty? You have already admitted to being part of the Chicago based Obama campaign team and I assume Jen is also. I also noticed the immediate negative reaction to me calling Fiesty out and I am not sure what me calling her out has anything to do with a right wing conspiracy. Does it really matter. Fiesty is an admitted Obama campaign staffer so I dont get what conspiracy I would be worried about. I also noticed all of you posters convienently ignored the substance of my posts in order to spend the time attacking me. Come on guys stick to the substance its more healthy for you.
[Does it make you feel better to attack me like that just because I share a few different political views?]
Kirk, why is it acceptable for you to be an idiot (yes, I've read your posts) yet not acceptable for me to point it out?
So FUNNY coming from YOU kirk, a poster I routinely skip over because you bring nothing to the discussion.
The only thing of interest that I can remember you posting is actually "Jen". I do love all the conspiracies that flow around Feisty. Do you have nothing better to do?
Mickey,
I dont understand the issue. His father used social security benefits in which he paid into right so its really his money or do I not understand the liberal view of social security? So what is the issue with using funds from social security to pay for college. So he used networking to get jobs, and you find this different from both the president and Michelle being affirmative action admits to college and law school? So what I am lost as to what point you are making. You never asked a friend to take a chance on your kids and give them a job? If he never worked a day in his life, boy I would hate to use that argument as your own president clearly has never worked in the private sector and has consistently shown he has not fundamental understanding of economics and economic behavior. As for some of your final points, those are fair points. I dont think Ryan is perfect no different than we all know Biden is a long way from perfect. But give Ryan his due as if you cant be objective then you have no credibility.
Kirk - your post is nonsense. Total nonsense. The fact that some of us take our convictions about politics seriously enough to work in campaign offices while others don't bother to do anything but talk about it shouldn't be reason for a put down. And, again, Feisty's name isn't Jen - not even close!
You called out the far righties AFTER the original post berating any liberal who dared to call Anne - Queen Anne. Perhaps if she didn't act like she thinks she is so much better than other people - when she clearly isn't - people wouldn't make the Queen comment.
Now stop being dramatic over nothing.
I'll admit I'm jealous you were on my NC beaches. They are some of the most beautiful!
Obama/Biden 201
Mickey and New Day, explain to me why I am an idiot or bring nothing to the discussion. I am dying to understand and learn. Its always interesting to me that if you read my posts and I am an idiot or have no substance, wouldnt it be very easy to prove that by a simple substantive reply? Instead, it appears that its easier for you guys to just attack me personally. If I am so dumb, idiotic and empty brained as clearly think, just prove it to me. I have asked Seeking Sanity to do that over and over and she cant. I consistently point out David Walker's fallacies and inaccuracies. Why is that only Yellowdog and sometimes Akeem actually provide a substantive response? If you guys are so brilliant and I am so idiotic it should take only a few lines to prove it so I am all ears.
No Seeking Sanity--I have consistently indicated that I dont like the personal attacks and have called out in the past several conservative posters. I dont understand, I didnt put anyone down and I am not sure how calling out that either of you work in Obama's campaign is putting you down. It isnt intended to put you down its intended to call out the lack of objectivity both of you have. I am not being overly dramatic, I am just stating that you both should take the high road as its beneath you to make such personal attacks.
As for NC beaches, I have told you we have more in common than you think although certainly not political views. I went to college in NC, one of my children graduated from my alma matter, I am there all the time and love the NC beach and have spent alot of time there. I would love to move from Chicago to NC and then my vote would actually count.
OH, I get it Kirk: people are ONLY allowed to work on campaigns if YOU approve.
So. You are simply another right wing nutjob control freak.
Kirk - every person who posts on this site is biased so why should it matter that some of us actually go out and work our convictions? That makes no sense at all. No one on these posts is objective as is evidenced by people from both sides.
They are becoming more brazen by the day... aren't they?
Yeah, Feisty, I'm over it. I will never understand this urge to control everyone else that predominates in rwnj land.
So, no sense wasting time over it.
[I dont understand the issue.]
Of course you don't Kirk...of course you don't...and therein lies your problem.
Now do your best bottle cap impression...
Seeking Sanity--I agree that all of us are biased and most of us have made up our minds on this blog if not all of us. So why the personal attacks then? What good comes from that? There is a difference though between honest debate and campaigning. For example, I have offered and I am more than happy to debate any single issue with you or others on here. For example, we could discuss our educational system and how its funded. But if you are only interested in Obama winning, your post is going to be all about why Obama is the best rather than you giving me an your honest views on the subject. Credibility is different because I am not trying to convince you to vote for Romney while all you are doing is trying to convince anyone on here to vote for Obama.
Newday--what are you talking about? Do read any of these posts or just need to make silly statements. Where do you get anything related to me approving anything? I could care less who works for what campaign but it does change the bias of the post thats all I am pointing out. If you ask me both right and left wing people are control freak nutjobs so not sure what has to do with anything. Was I a left wing nut job when I voted for Clinton twice or Kerry once or even third party candidate John Anderson? Instead of being a jerk, why not use that vast intellect you tell me you have and show me the error of my ways. That would be far more interesting.
So Mickey, so basically you are unable to prove that I am an idiot? I thought you liberals were the ones always saying us fiscal conservatives never support our allegations and just throw stuff against the wall. So stating I am an idiot is enough? No support for that statement? Come on big boy you can do it. Show me that cognitive ability that has gotten you so far in life and is the bright star to everyone around you.
Ok Kirk, here is the deal, and I am going to be brutally frank with you, I used to read a lot of your posts and when I responded to you it was always in a cordial fashion even though we most often disagreed. Now you have crossed a line and I now have zero respect for you, and here is why: it matters not that you are in all likelihood wrong about Fiesty's name being Jen. It matters not where you think that information comes from, what matters is that you complain about poor treatment, and name calling, but you would intend to breach the right of any poster who prefers to use a moniker and protect their right to anonymity, privacy, and the right to keep their personal information confidential. Who in the hell do you think you are that you would lecture people on fairness and civility of discussion but are perfectly willing to betray a posters sacred right to confidentiality of their personal information. Your say your sisters who know you far better than anyone on this blog used to call you "Kirk the Jerk" well I will tell you in all honesty, what you pulled today was jerky, real jerky, damn jerky.
Thank you very much Mr. Grump!
As usual, you said it much more articulate then I did!
You know, your name came up in Vegas a couple of weeks ago (we're still talking about that delicious restaurant recommendation you gave us when we went to St Louis). I can still taste the veal piccata! YUM!
I added, not only are you one of the wittiest posters on FR, you have a rare sense of balance & patience.
Having said that, I also said, the few times I have seen you become angry, I would NOT want to be on the receiving end of your thoughts!
Hope you & Mrs, Grump have a wonderful weekend! I still want to buy ya a drink next time you're in my neck of the woods!
Love ya Forrest! You are someone who honesty and decency personified.
Hi to Mrs. Grump and the Grumpsters! I envy your children for having a dad like you.
You are all too kind to me! Thank you very much.
You are kidding me right Forrest? You call me out for providing the name of a deputy campaign person for Obama who uses this blog to campaign on his behalf but did you notice the personal attacks by Mickey, Reddev, newday for no other reason than I have a different perspective? When challenged to provide reasons for the attacks and even provide any basis for their attacks and substance to their replies, they couldnt do it. Seeking Sanity was actually borderline nice this time but have you seen her posts? Any you call me the jerk, get real.
I'm already bored with Paul Ryan and his one trick pony. The guy is the most limited vice presidential candidate I've ever seen - no interests in life beyond scultpting his skinny body and killing Medicare.
Ryan is an extremist and he doesn't even try to hide it. His "plan" is so rife with inadequacies I don't know where to begin. I'm convinced Romney picked Ryan in an attempt to just unite the GOP/TP behind him, rather than independents.
Only 1 week old? And the Ryan baby can never crawl out of his crib, with a vulture's mitt guarding him.
Amy, interesting viewpoint. You may not like his politics which is fine but in terms of qualifications, Ryan is probably the best candidate to be a VP choice in a very long time. Far better for instance than Palin or John Edwards and seriously you think Biden is more qualified regardless of politics? Come on and take your rose colored glasses off and at least admit what even Obama has stated about Ryan and that Ryan is a very intelligent, capable and experienced legislator. Given that the Ryan plan doesnt even impact seniors over 55 and those below 55 can elect in or out of medicare, can you explain to me how he kills it? Wouldnt you have more credibility if you attacked the substance and explained why you think the Ryan plan doesnt save Medicare?
Ryan? Intelligent? That must be why he supports more failed trickle-down economics, and thinks that massive austerity (and yet massive funding boosts to the military) are great ideas. I could probably find someone more qualified for Ryan's office at the local bar.
Xabre -- That dog doesn't hunt. Do I need to post what democrat Erkstine Bowles said about Ryan. You only make yourself look unintelligent. Try another lie.
Kirk -
I have to disagree with this. Senators Al Gore, Joe Lieberman, and Joe Biden as well as even Dick Cheney were more qualified to be "next in line" than Paul Ryan. Paul Ryan has never even won a state-wide election, and has zero foreign policy experience.
Have you read through the details of their plan? Those 55 and below can still use their "voucher" to purchase traditional Medicare, but only up to the voucher amount. If the cost of Medicare increases, future Seniors are on the hook for the cost increase.
If the Romney/Ryan plan is similar to what Ryan proposed the current Medicare system - a simple system with equal, defined benefits for all - will be replaced by a complex, multi-tiered benefit system that will have winners and losers based on health and wealth. Future seniors will have to gamble with their health insurance, and hope they make the right decision.
I am outraged because it is not a question of funding Medicare - the supposed savings go not towards deficit reduction but towards additional tax cuts for the wealthy. If these tax cuts were eliminated, additonal taxes were raised, and minor modificatiosn were proposed to the timing of benefits, Medicare as it exists today would be solvent for decades.
This is not a "bold" choice - it is a transfer of both costs and uncertainty from the government to our future seniors, who deserve better.
Xabre, again you may not like his policies but that doesnt make him less capable or intelligent. For example, you obviously like Obama's economic policies and his have failed miserably and we had history as our guide knowing that Obama's economic policies would be failures. We have states like California and Illinois who have used the same Obama policies for years and they continue to be collosal failures in addition to historical national experience. You also say more failed trickle down economics, can you provide more substance to this? For example, similar economic policies were used by Reagan and Clinton and both presidents were extremely successful. Blanket statements are just wrong without any substance.
TNSEVOL - well said and well explained but it will fall on deaf ears. The far right don't want the truth - suddenly I feel like Jack Nicholson - they just want to believe what they have in their minds.
No matter than this will destroy some seniors in future years - who have already been paying into the system. That's just too bad. The top earners need that extra tax break!
Obama/Biden 2012
I'm already bored with Paul Ryan and his one trick pony
I agree. The boring team of Mitt ROmney and Paul Ryan will have you convinced that they are the answer to your "problems"
The only "problems"that we have ARE THEM, and their asinine rhetoric.
Tn--first of all as you well know, you act like it wont work without any real knowledge or historical experience. First you have to just accept that our seniors are the wealthiest segment in the world. They control over 80% of the assets and wealth in this country and we need to stop acting like they are all poor and destitute. Asking our seniors to pick up a larger share of their medical tab is not asking too much. Second, this concept that the tab will be borne by the poor and destitute seniors is just plain silly and political suicide so any problems with the Ryan plan would be adjusted and fixed to address those funding problems. Last, why are you so against trying something different? Isnt that the same argument the liberals and Obama supporters were using again the GOP when they were fighting Obamacare? At least use the Ryan plan to create the debate and start a real discussion on fixing the long term viability of Medicare or our health care system.
Stop the crap on using the so called medicare voucher program savings on tax cuts for the wealthy as thats just not true. Cutting rates while making the system more fair and equitable by broadening the base of income is not a tax cut for the wealthy. I think its Backhouse who always cites those statistics saying the wealthy are only paying 18% effective rate (not true by the way) so by eliminating a bunch of loopholes and deductions for the wealthy while reducing the rate is not a tax cut.
Kirk-2957282
You claim that Ryan is competent and maybe that is the case, but maybe he is also competent enough to strip women of the right to control their bodies and he has signed off on legislation to do exactly that. For that alone he is worthy of any derision thrown his way. It is not just about bread.
HAHAHAHAH - Kirk, the beach agrees with you - it gives you a sense of humor, assuming of course, you meant that as humor. Thanks to the experienced legislator, we now have a revised tax on arrows. Thank you swami Ryan. As I have said before, anyone can create a budget. It takes experience to create a moral budget, something Ryan lacks.
Oh, and isn't it Ryan who made the claim that we must default on our payments, leading to a downgrade of our financial rating. That is the sign of an experienced leader?
TN - welcome to the nightmare of responding to Kirk. He is above reproach and would never outright call you stupid. You are apparently just an idiot without any real knowledge or historical experience.
Reddev--good one. I actually respect and enjoy debating with TN because we dont agree on all things but its always civil and I agree with him sometimes. Its more of a two way street. I dont think he is stupid or idiotic and you missed my point. None of us have any real knowledge or historical experience on Ryan's plan because it hasnt been tried before. No different than Obamacare? Will it work to bring down costs? Or school vouchers? Many on the left criticize them but they dont know if they will work or not. That was my point. I wasnt calling him out individually.
As for Ryan, I am not saying he or his plans are perfect, but give him credit for creating a budget which is more than the entire Senate has done for 4 years. Its better than the Obama budget which never ever gets a vote even from his own party. So lets play in the same sandbox ok?
Blackcat--I completely understand that position. But I dont see the connection to being unqualified and being prolife. Its totally understandable for someone to vote for a candidate because of a policy position that is very personal to oneself. Abortion is one of those issues. No different than a gun rights advocate voting for anyone but Nancy Pelosi for example on that one issue is totally understandable whether you agree or not. But that doesnt mean Ryan doesnt have good qualities, isnt accomplished or would make a good VP but for that social issue. I personally am not a single issue voter because I am pro gay marriage and pro choice and socially liberal to moderate (moderate because I am a gun toting person) but fiscal conservative. For example, I would have no problem voting for Hillary just not Obama.
They control over 80% of the assets and wealth in this country and we need to stop acting like they are all poor and destitute
You must live in a wealthy area of the country. Where I live, sometimes the seniors need to chose between food or medicine. Don't judge "all" seniors because a few are wealthy.
TAke a trip to Orlando, and see who is working in Disneyland, and the other amusement parks: SENIORS, trying to make ends meet.Get out of your bubble!
So how do you explain the this?
If you look at the chart you can see that overtime it has been getting closer and closer.

Why don't you explain why your Saviour of America, Romney still lags behind?
BCWC, that is easy, it has to be because of all the propraganda that you all you put up on this site. LOL
Let's not forget the rest of the media that is still in love with President Obama.
Hey, wasn't Romney suppose to loose by a landslide? No one expected this.
blackandwhitecat - especially since when you announce your running mate it usually gives you a pretty nice bump!
Romney's likability is steadily going down. Ryan - no likability there! President Obama on the other hand is well liked. No one votes for a President they don't like.
Romney will continue to lag behind and he's gotten as close as he's going to. Obama will start to distance himself from dumb and dumber soon!
Obama/Biden 2012
Or maybe it's that we can remember the dire failures of the last GOP president and don't want to take "the prize in the mystery box" over Obama.
Concern Citizen-856329
Um, the number of posters on Newsvine are what, .0001% of the population? Propaganda never aims at such a small group. The DNC ground game is coming your way, lock your mind and stay safe.
Ah come on guys! Let poor "concern" have her fantasy! She is having way too much trouble understanding that Romney will "loose" this election, and how it will happen.
blackcatwhitecat
Hey can you guys take a joke? I also mentioned the rest of the media which is not own by Obama, but might as well be. I guess you did not like that piece of information.
Let's face it, for both sides is Marketing that counts. Who has the biggest Marketing Machine now?
Yeah, Yeah, and now SeekingSanity is going to call me stupid, and then follow up by dog returned to a horse, then Beisty and so on and on.
Romney/Ryan 2012.
blackcatwhitecat - concern is really not worth it!
Concern, the only media that Obama owns is the copywrite to his books otherwise he would be vastly more wealthy than Murdoch.
I remember when Coke changed its formula and they had to scurry back to 'Classic'. I don't think New Bush or Bush Classic will work. Same taste.
I'm not going to go into how stupid that statement is but I will tell you something you can do to verify your stupid statements about the President Concern, you can actually VIEW his returns! Go figure! A President who actually opens his returns up to the public. Wonder what Mitt owns or better yet, who owns Mitt?
The only way that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan can win the election, is by stealing itl which they are ready to do by supressing votes.
Appears all seniors are afraid of Ryan after all. This is kind of funny.
http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/senior-citizens-greet-paul-ryan-good-luck-kick-ass_650089.html
ryan, like a fish, stank after two days... or was it a "relative"... oh well, no difference...
good one. Although this guy has been stinking it up for the gop fro some time now.
Speaking of ryan. Why is it that the CBO can't rate, or determine the effects of the ryan budget proposal. My guess would be that it "like a fish, stank after two days".
Feisty: "Did I miss anything?"
Well, just this - looks like Romney's "mini-me" got to meet the king of the sugar daddies:
"LAS VEGAS — Four days after his announcement as Mitt Romney's running mate, Representative Paul D. Ryan was not in Florida talking Medicare with elderly voters or in drought-ridden Iowa talking about a farm bill. He traveled to the Venetian hotel here for a meeting hosted by Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire casino mogul who has pledged to spend as much as $100 million this year to defeat President Obama.
"In keeping with Mr. Adelson's penchant for staying below the radar, Romney aides refused to say who attended the meeting with Mr. Ryan, though the location (a private room at one of Mr. Adelson's hotels) and leaks from the Romney camp left little doubt. And in keeping with laws that prohibit elected officials from explicitly asking donors for super PAC money, aides to Mr. Romney insisted before the event that the meeting was not a fund-raiser.
"It's a finance event, not a fund-raiser," an aide told reporters. Asked if people were paying to attend, he repeated, "It's a finance event, not a fund-raiser."
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/15/us/politics/paul-ryan-meets-sheldon-adelson-in-las-vegas.html
A fund-raiser, according to my dictionary, is "A social function, as a dinner, for raising funds". The verb "to finance", though, means "To supply the funds or capital for".
I guess the distinction is that Ryan didn't get dinner. And apparently, as long as there's no dinner involved, there's no coordination with the Super PAC, either.
Unbelievable JoAnne!
They no longer even attempt to hide what they're up to!
JoAnne - a "finance event" which any normal person would call a fundraiser! We truly can thank the Supreme court for their anything but supreme decision - Citizen's United!
Obama/Biden 2012
Sheldon Adelson has got to be one of the truly ugliest people I've ever seen inside and out. You would think he'd take his money and help some of the people of this country. But nope, the power pig is trying to buy himself a presidency and the plastic shells of R&R are willing to be bought.
Any time that the GOP needs money for wars or political campaigns, or to give subsidies to big oil, money is AVAILABLE in big amounts. It is only when it comes to the poor, old and disabled that the GOP uses words as "Irreversible" "Catastrophic" or any other rhetoric that indicated that they WILL NOT SUPPORT THEM, AND THEY WILL STRIP THEM FROM all safety nets.
THEY SEE THEM AS LEECHES THAT NEED TO BE EXTERMINATED.
Layton - but Sheldon is promising Romney/Ryan a car elevator in EVERY house!
More from the Times:
"The issues swirling about Mr. Adelson's business practices are not new and can hardly come as a surprise to the Romney campaign. Last year, his company, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, announced that it was under investigation by the Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission for possible violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act — specifically, that it bribed Chinese officials for help in expanding its casino empire in Macau. Later, the F.B.I. became involved, and even Chinese regulators looked askance at the company's conduct, fining it $1.6 million for violating foreign exchange rules, The Times reported on Monday.'
"A careful presidential campaign would put distance between itself and a businessman like Mr. Adelson. Instead, this one is cultivating him. Mr. Romney recently met with him in Israel, and Mr. Ryan this week paid homage to him and other big donors in a private casino for high-rollers on the 36th floor of Mr. Adelson's Venetian hotel. By allowing Mr. Adelson to have such an outsize role in their race, the candidates themselves are placing a very risky bet."

What's that old saying about how if you lie down with dogs, you'll get up with fleas? I hope Romney and Ryan have stocked up on some K9 Advantix and Frontline.....
JoAnne - What's that old saying about how if you lie down with dogs, you'll get up with fleas? I hope Romney and Ryan have stocked up on some K9 Advantix and Frontline
You're clearly nicer than me - I'm hoping they HAVEN'T stocked up!
Obama/Biden 2012
JoAnne- I'm actually rather surprised that, during all of the debates about the Pennsylvania voter I.d. Laws, you never once mentioned the scandal plagued elections for which Pennsy is, well, infamous. Since you neglected to inform people of
The rich history of dead people voting, impersonates voting, people from other states voting in Pennsyvania, I did a little research.
Here is some interesting reading for those who claim there is no such thing as voter fraud
http://archives.citypaper.net/articles/101295/article009.shtml
Funny- nobody ever brings up the Pennsy election that was so fraud ridden that a federal judge tossed the results. Â 1993. Â Democrat Stinson was found guilty of egregious fraud, so the judge tossed the election results and the republican opponent was seated, instead.
Here is something else missing from the rantings from the left- the ACLU lost its plaintiff in the Pennsylvania case
http://mobile.philly.com/news/?wss=/philly/news/breaking/&id=166490216&viewAll=y#more
Going to make the appeal awfully difficult.
Maybe they can round up some corpses.
JoAnne - Maybe they can round up some corpses. (nojoe)
I guess that means no joe will be attending!
"Here is some interesting reading for those who claim there is no such thing as voter fraud"
Actually, I already went over this earlier this week. "Those who claim there is no such thing as voter fraud" apparently include the lawyers for the state, who stipulated at the outset of the Pennsylvania case that not only did they have no evidence of past in-person fraud to present, but that they wouldn't even present any evidence that such fraud would occur if the law were NOT passed:
http://www.slideshare.net/andersonatlarge/pennsylvania-stipulation-of-no-inperson-voter-impersonation
Maybe you should have shared your "research" with them.
The reaction on this board after Romney/Ryan win in November will be priceless. Feisty, Bev and the like will end up losing their government assistance and food stamps and will have to finally get a job. Can't wait!!!
Rumor has it JFK that the O hoes are updating their resumes as we speak.
Ah yes, more misogynistic language from the fringe right wing! Good for you Ben! Always good to be reminded that there are men in this world who cannot compete with women, so must denigrate them.
Your momma must be proud.
You have to have one in order to update it Ben.
newday - when "men" put women down like this it shows how totally inept and insecure they are. Clearly they are frightened by intelligent, strong women. How sad. That's why they always get the whiny, dumb ones.
They know a lot about hos because, my guess, that's all they can get!
And the nonsense about working - it's so stale but all they have. Again, proves they aren't clever or anything!
Obama/Biden 2012
Bev and the like will end up losing their government assistance and food stamps and will have to finally get a job. Can't wait!!!
The eternal myth that everybody that opposes the Republicans is "on food stamps" Must of the people on welfare are REPUBLICANS. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT A BG NUMBER OF OLD FARTS USE MEDICARE, AND THEY BADMOUTH President Obama.
I can't wait for the HYPOCRITES of the GOP to lose ALL THEIR SAFETY NETS, so they can see how much the GOP "appreciates" them, after they give them their vote. They will go bankrupt the next time that they need a bypass, AND CAN'T AFFORD IT WITH THEIR DUMB VOUCHER THAT PAUL WILL GIVE THEM.
A swift kick in the B....
Two stories of note this week...
1. In Ohio, facing legal challenges over rulings on early voting, Republican Secretary of State John Husted announced that the state will have uniform early-voting rules instead of the county-by-county rules that, in what I'm sure is merely coincidence, seemed to extend early voting for counties that went Republican in 2008 while restricting early voting for counties that went Democrat in 2008.
2. In Pennsylvania, the new voter ID law was upheld by Judge Robert Simpson. I feel it is important at this time recall the words of Republican legislator Mike Turzai who stated the purpose of this law...
"To Prevent Voter Fraud""Voter ID Will Allow Governor Romney To Win In Pennsylvania"!Noid- were you aware that in 1993, a state senate race was so impacted by voter fraud that a federal judge tossed out the election results?
Came as news to me. If you go up and read my response to JoAnne in PA, there are some pretty good links for you to follow.
Oh- by the way? Just because it happened in the 1990's, doesn't mean it hasn't, in fact, gotten even worse today. Doesn't matter in landslides- but it sure matters in close elections.
By the way, the A LU lost its plaintiff in Pennsy. She got a voter I.d. Card- and is happy as a clam.
Wow...crooked poll workers so everyone needs to bring photo ID with them...and it only took 20 years to finally get it done?
Hardly constitutes an emergency if you ask me.
Once again, I'll point out that for 20 years I have been voting. Each time, I sign a register next to a copy of my original signature when I registered to vote. Never has anyone ever questioned my identity and never has there been any interference with my ability to vote.
ID cards...yeah why would you possibly need that, oh wait you need one to Drive, Buy Tobacco, Alcohol & Firearms, join a Gym, open a bank account, have surgery, fill a prescription, join a Library, get a Job, cash your welfare check, go to college, travel on an airplane or train, receive government assistance, use a credit card, shoot what else am I missing???
Are you suggesting that county election boards are no longer capable of carrying out the task of registering voters?
have surgery, fill a prescription, join a Library, get a Job, cash your welfare check,
wow! I guess you show your ID every time THAT YOU CASH YOUR WELFARE CHECK!!!!!!
Does anybody here have a copy of Harry Reids tax returns from the last 12 years? Could you please post them here? Also if you have any information about Barach Obama would you please post them also? Tax information, High school or college transcripts, birth certificate... etc. Anything. They can't be found anywhere.
Please email Mr. Reid and ask him if he will send you his information. Rumor is his taxes were done by his gay illegal alien lover and child molester. Because of the seriousness of this charge it must be investigated.
Here is the address where you can go to email Mr. Reid. http://www.reid.senate.gov/contact/index.cfm
Stop using insults that hurt REAL people. There enough sleezy people on both sides of the house to cancel each other out. The problem isn't Romneys rax returns, but his covering up stuff that an honest person would be glad to put out there for inspection. From the fraud at the New Hampshire polls during Bush Jrs last election, to the voter ID in this. Replublicans are bent on winning no matter what they have tio do to win. Cheat, lie, ignore the Cnstitution of America. And, a lot more besides.
To save time, I will put it this way. I would like all you young punks, who think we oldies are a waste of space, to realize: We oldies know the difference between where and wear, their and there, who and whom. We also know that one and one are two. Our worst mistake is believing your teachers when they sold us on the benefits of new math and new, new math. We did not speak up against smiley faces on your mediocre math homework and high fives on tests. You don't realize how far you are, educationally, behind the rest of the world. Our mistake again. You have all the smarts of my generation, but none of the grounding in education. You CAN make America the great nation we made it decades ago. Unfortunately it will be as hard for you as it was for us. It shouldn’t have been that way. Sorry guys
