PORTAGE, Mich. -- It's possible that Tim Pawlenty is days from stepping onto a stage before thousands of cheering supporters as Mitt Romney's newly-minted running mate. But you wouldn't know it from his swing through central Michigan on Wednesday, where the former governor appeared at nondescript campaign offices and addressed just dozens of supporters as they snacked on cookies and lemonade.
"Mitt Romney didn't spend his entire life in government," Pawlenty said to a small group of GOP devotees in Jackson. "He knows how to get jobs going."
Who will Mitt Romney pick as his running mate? NBC's Claire Leka reports.
Even after dutifully delivering laugh lines – like calling the president "all foam and no beer" – Pawlenty didn't escape "veep" speculation from his audience, with one supporter in Jackson asking him if he'll return to the state as vice president.
"I've been back to Michigan a fair amount," he demurred. "But as to the vice presidential thing, we'll know soon enough."
Devoid of the camera platforms and elaborate sound systems typically on hand for political celebrities' events, Pawlenty's appearances showed him to be anything but a campaign diva. When the fold-up table he was supposed to sit behind in Portage was in the wrong place, he helped to carry it to a more suitable spot. When a portable microphone in Jackson proved too loud for backers' ears, he ditched it over the complaints of reporters eager to record his every word.
"We don't want them to get the sound!" he joked to the crowd.
The trip, which involved an early morning flight to the Great Lake State and several hours of trekking in an SUV driven by an aide, showed Pawlenty's talents as an approachable and disciplined pol even as national reporters dogged him with questions about the vice presidential selection process.
Is he stopping by Romney's Boston headquarters on his way to his scheduled New Hampshire events this weekend?
"I'm flying into Boston and then traveling immediately up to New Hampshire to start [my] schedule."
Will he be meeting VP selection guru Beth Myers?
"We have a policy, the campaign just doesn't talk about the vice presidential vetting process."
How's the process going?
He rattled off the names of GOP up-and-comers, scattering in other possible Romney running mates including women and minorities breathing new life into the GOP: Susanna Martinez, Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, Nikki Haley, Bob McDonnell, Chris Christie, Rob Portman and Paul Ryan.
"And David Petraeus," he added, perhaps a sly nod to a flurry of speculation that surrounded a now-debunked story on the Drudge Report that the CIA director was in the running for the job.
Widely regarded as one of the Romney campaign's most loyal surrogates, Pawlenty insisted Wednesday that there's no job title that motivates his determined campaigning on behalf of a man he once fought against for the GOP nod.
"The objective here isn't about a position or about some title for any of the candidates or the people trying to help. We are trying to get the country back on the right track," he said. "For me that's meant doing things like this as a volunteer where I can go out and speak on Gov. Romney's behalf in places where he can't be."
And many of those places aren't glitzy, politically or economically. In past years, Jackson has suffered a poverty rate twice that of Michigan as a whole. The Kalamazoo area clocked in for an Obama win of 20 points in 2008.
As Pawlenty wrapped up a brief stop at a strip-mall campaign office in Portage, his possible second-in-command competitor Sen. Rob Portman was wrapping up an (albeit smaller) event outside of Mile High Stadium in hotly-contested Colorado.
Still, the former governor of Minnesota has one psychological advantage that possible running mates Portman and Paul Ryan lack -- the experience of going through the lengthy vetting process only to be greeted with a "thanks but no thanks."
"In 2008, I was on some speculators' list as John McCain's selection for VP," he told reporters. "It's an honor to be considered. It's an honor for anyone to be considered, but also it has some deja vu qualities since I've been through it before."

Is this the part where I'm supposed to be impressed?
I'm hoping Willard runs with Ryan... otherwise when in history have we had a ticket comprised of DULL & DULLER!
T-Paw about as exciting as white toast!
Herman & Eddie Munster 2012!
Woofie for Secretary of State! ;o)
I love the Eddy & Herman Munster ..i have been lol all day every time i think of it .. So spot on !
Oatmeal just teamed with Cream O' Wheat.
Does mouse poop actually mix with dog poop?
Maybe Pawlenty is not interested because Romney is thinking about Paul Ryan.
Paul Ryan is the WORST possible person to be in the White House. He is a vampire that is only interested in stripping the old and the disabled of the safety nets. He is a global warming denier, and is in bed with big oil big time.
Vote DEMOCRAT and don't loose the safety nets for our old and disabled.
Poll just released shows Obama up huge among likely dead voters!
More to follow
According to a statement from Jay Carney the White House going forward will now refer to "Voter Fraud" as "Voter Enhancement".
In the Obama economy how many US cities do you figure will be in chapter 11 bankruptcy by the time election day rolls around?
Just wondering.
IRESPOND:
Ryan is a GREAT choice for VP.
1. He cant run for his House seat and VP at the same time.
2. When the Romney/Ryan ticket is trounced in November we wont have to deal with either nut job any more.
EMDF - Excellent point!! Do you think this may be a secret Republican plot to weed out the sick and the lame? It would be nice to think that they are capable of doing SOMETHING!
Rob - go sit down... you will be banned shortly! ☺
The great thing about this election is that Romney and whoever he selects as VP are so vastly superior to the current ticket on the dem side. It's just so unfortunate that we have that many dumb and destructive people who vote who hate our country and have a love affair with Saul Alinsky. Just ask any one of the to spell out what policies of Obama have helped to spur the economy and you won't get a single word out of them. The reason is that they can't come up with anything, and according to Alinsky, all you have to do is lie and call the other side names. Truth doesn't exist in Alinsky followers and it doesn't exist in the Marxist-Democratic Party. End of discussion. If you love the country going down the tubes, then vote Obama/Biden 2012!
Stephanie Cutter really stepped in it. There's tape of her on a conference call with Joe "Romney killed my wife" Shopek. That sure looks like collusion between the Obama campaign and Burton's SuperPac.
Hmmm.....violating federal campaign laws. Just add one more crime to the most corrupt administration ever.
Fiesty -it is just soooo interesting that you are ALWAYS the first commentator on any political story on MSN. Don't you have a job, or is THAT your job? Just curious.
As far as politics... I would personally love to see Pawlenty on the ticket, or Ryan, Rubio or any conservative. I got the hugest kick today, when Pawlenty commented in an interview that the VP's job is often the support role...to go after the record. He said in this case.... that would be a easy job; "any third grader could do it". Just awesome! Albeit very true!
When the President of the US is using their super pac's to label, falsely, their opponents as felons or murderers (see the latest ad), for me, that does NOT say a lot about their character or their ability to lead.
Expecting to be kicked out any minute now....
Sincerely,
Someone who cares about this country and it's direction
Feisty -
Do you get a bonus for being the first liberal to comment?
You certainly hold the record!
Think dumb and dumber would be a better scenario than dull & duller--for the better cause. No sarcasm intended.
If there is a better analogy for Obama, I want to hear it.
IT DOES NOT GET ANY PLAINER
THAN THIS. VERY SIMPLY SAID AND UNDERSTANDABLE.
One of the best lines heard lately was from Izzy Kapp, a now retired shop foreman from the old Republic Steel Plant in Cleveland. At 17 Izzy immigrated to the USA from England after his family escaped from Poland when he was 12. A more proud American can not be imagined. He often said, "I am overwhelmed by the opportunities my country offers me!"
All five of his children graduated from college. One got an MS, another got a JD, and the third an MD degree. It took Izzy 13 years of night school to get a college degree.
When a young Black kid was being laid off at the end of his 90 day evaluation period he confronted Izzy in the huge Republic Steel Plant break
room at lunch and tried to intimidate him with all sorts of NAACP / ACLU / etc. threats.
"I want this on-the-record in front of everybody." the young man
said. "You' firin' me 'cause I'm Black!"
Without even looking up from his sandwich the foreman said, "No. We hired you because you're Black.
We're firing you because you're useless."
Pawlenty has been grooming himself for years for higher office. Sad how he never did anything worthy of higher office. Another repub who signed the Norquist pledge for the rich, then borrowed, borrowed. and borrowed against education funds never paying them back. Caused all home owners taxes to go up to pay for the shortage of lost funds. Caused the bridge to collapse which killed a number of people because he ignored recommendations to fund bridge repairs. He thought he could kick the funding down into someone else's budget years later. He killed people because of it. Master at photo ops for doing nothing. Extremely vindictive if you criticize or oppose his plans or thoughts. His career is over, what the hell. If not this he is done and has no career elswhere.
Without even looking up from his
sandwich the foreman said, "No. We hired you because you're Black.
We're firing you because you're useless."
If there is a better analogy for Obama, I want to hear it.
You won't hear one because that is dead on accurate! Thanks for sharing it.
Love it Jon Jones!!!!!!!!!!!
ROMNEY 2012
Starsailing -
I recommend you file charges against Pawlenty on that one!
Was that similar to Ted driving off a bridge causing a woman to drown and walking home and going to bed? And STILL kept getting voted into office by you dumb asses?
actually thats why the current so called president was elected, and he has 2 yrs of nothing but photo ops to prove it.HCR? voted in behind our backs by dems. he (obama) still couldnt get the majority of the vote from his own party without back room deals, meaning its worthless. promised a live open debate, and he (obama) shut us out. its worthless. he took 500 people on a 2 week all exspence paid vacation to the UK like he was f'ing oprah, and then i wouldnt doubt it if he did, lol. The King that couldnt, cause he didnt want to get down to real buisness until 4 months ago... (bit late in the game champ) there is little of our economy left. agriculture screwd this year, us along with it. can of coffee is 10+ bucks for the cheap crap, used to be 5.49 3 yrs ago.
so to make my point, i dont give a rats behind what turns people on, its what gets the job done!
speaking OF RECORD, Nobama the clown HAD NO RECORD other than ayers, and a off the books contracting scheme with landlords. rev wright ring any bells? who goes to church, claims to be religious, but when the preacher is caught talking smack, changes his story to of all things, but i never really listened, even tho having dinner and all that other crap on several occations... what size load of bricks does it take for some people to realise, their party not only cheesed them, but without a bat of an eye... you fall right in formation. too funny, or sad?
Nobama was nothing but a little show clown for 3 yrs (circus clown music chimes in), hence the nick- Nobama The Clown ( circus clown music comes to a very slow stop).
worst president in my lifetime, and that includes President Carter.
Jon; That's the same reason we're firing Obunga.
Why are liberals so racist?
It was only yesterday that it was reported Obama wants his drones to inundate the White House with made up stories concerning anyone they thought would be the likely VP nominee.
Grotesque, to put it mildly. Very Stalinistic. Not a very good attempt at "keeping it civil".
A. jones....families of victims did, settlement done with agreement not to say anything!
How about all the idiots who post about Feisty Redhead being the first to post
Duh maybe she gets up earlier than you do
DUH! and double Duh!
I am a midnight poster - we all have different clocks
Ah yes - Paul Ryan - got his College Paid for by his dead dad's Social Security
And Ayn Rand whom this twit adores - got her Social Security under her Secretary's name - plus Medicare
It's all a lie which this little moron adhere's to
Romney wouldn't be able to get Pawlenty past his TP handlers... Porter? Or maybe that uninspiring failed accountant? Probably Porter. It's all about the red meat that Romney can't seem to give them.
Pawlenty is the guy...yawn.....and the white bread ticket takes the field.
Romney/Pawlenty 2012......yawn.....wake me for the Presidents second term.
Obama/Biden 2012
Andrea Saul being fired today?
She tauted Romney's wonderful healthcare plan in Mass. yesterday. OOOOPS! Not suppose to talk about that. The one good thing that Romney did in all of his few years of helping people and they cannot talk about it.
Romney forgot to tell her that you cannot make a statement without Karl Rove's stamp of approval, for that matter, they cannot drop a deuce without Karl Rove's approval.
Oh Man you can see the racist pigs show their face.
Why not Fix Noise is promoting racism. Saying it's ok to call someone a N-Word because we will bring you on TV to prove that they are N-Words and a leach on society.
Fix Noise knowing full well that the majority of people on public assistant, collecting social security, getting medicare are white just like them and me.
But they portray it as all blacks because President Obama is black.
Racism and divided and conquer is alive and well in America.
Go ahead with your racist self and I hope you teach your kids to be little white racist people. You and them will be left behind in the good old slave days. This Country will move forward regardless of your hate teachings.
Now eat that SH!T PIE!
all 3 vp potentials would have been happier if they were candidates to run with obama. maybe that is why poultry is being silent?
Romney looks like Herman Munster? I never realized that till just now. Thanks, Fiesty, for opening my eyes LOL
Not only does Romney look like Herman Munster he acts like him too. Romney does not turn his head, he rotates his entire upper body as if his head is bolted onto his shoulders.
This is just like bush43, looking for the bump to his powerpack and speaker wire, with Romney we need to look for the bumps of the bolts that hold his head on his shoulders.
"Tim Pawlenty remains mum about Romney VP selection"
...yawn...
...and no one notices...
Miss Mittsy and Little Boy Blue...poor Republicans just can't seem to find a man among them.
Suggest you read "The Corruption Chronicles" if you really want to be informed.
Shockedanddisgusted, you mean like Obama. Plays basketball and swings a golf club like a little girl, and runs down the stairs like a little pussy holding his little arms up. Maybe its a Muslim thing or Michelle is really the man. Not sure.
DSmith, you're a dolt.
One of the stories by reporter who reported of Pawlenty's failure to raise taxes leading bridge to collapse and kill people. From Mnblue.com
Lack of Maintenance Caused 35W Bridge to Fall
Submitted by Grace Kelly on August 1, 2008 - 3:10pm.
Looking at the line where the arrow is pointing, you can see where half the width of the gusset plate is gone due to corrosion. Basically, this was MNDOT known fact which should have triggered reinforcement or replacement of the gusset plates on the 35W bridge.
The laboratory report from National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) doesn't draw conclusions, but it said a corroded plate in the L-11 East gusset node broke apart from compression forces in the bridge truss, not from secondary impacts sustained during the collapse.
(Star Tribune)
Kudos to many officials and Star Tribune for reporting this, despite probably huge Republican pressure to cover up the truth. For the responsibility leads directly to Republican Governor Pawlenty, since he inherited this. Now into a second term, Republican Governor Pawlenty had plenty of time to fix this or at least have a plan to fix this.
All of our bridges and roads have been suffering from lack of maintenance. I reported on the declining state of roads earlier. The Star Tribune has interactive map of bridges, that shows that most bridges are in need of repair, here. The pledge for "no new taxes" was done by dumping maintenance as well as other government responsibilities! Time to stick the "no new taxes" Republican Governor Pawlenty with the blame that he so richly deserves. It is especially ironic given the pro-life religious ideals that Republican Governor Pawlenty touted so strongly. Obviously in Republican Governor Pawlenty's mind, being pro-life does not apply
At least he looks loke a human being,I'm not so sure mutt isn't just a wind up etch a sketch...Let's see him get elected on his only policy.....Trust me,I know what's best for you... meaning of course the 1%...
For the rest of you,let the children starve,at least they will die with pride.....They didn,t get any government aid...Only the 1% get any freebies. If the mutt can get elected for anything better than a dog catcher, then there is little hope for our future....You think this election is close, wait till election day, from then on,we'll have a two party system Democrats and Independents.....Republicans and dinosaurs, they're the same thing.....
Where's the manhood of being so coy with the public to whom you want to demonstrate leadership? I don't know what's worse-- Pawlenty's caving in to Romney during the debates in the wimpiest moment in its history, or Romney playing cute as he tries to figure out who will help him win, not help him lead. MAN UP for God's sake and announce a decision, and be able to justify it! As a lifelong Republican I have never seen the party look this bad-- from bat@!$%# crazy Bachmann and her gay husband to Herman Cain and now this Mormon? Are you kidding me? Is there anyone else who can step in as a write-in candidate?
You're right. To supposedly keep taxes down Pawlenty did not support funding the repair of bridges when they knew of the gusset plate problems. The bridge fell down as everyone knows- and it didn't need to happen. Now, the still Republican controlled legislature of Minnesota has done away with the homestead exemption, raising taxes profoundly on every homeowner in the state. So, we have a bridge collapse for lack of funding and now a huge increase in taxes anyway, courtesy of the grand old party.
I should have mentioned that, in Minnesota, the loss of the homestead exemption effectively doubles the property tax rate.
So now you know how the Mittwit will "not" tax anyone.. Taxes by any other name is STILL taxes. And a note to will90604..
"Is there anyone else who can step in as a write-in candidate?"..
Jon Huntsman comes to mind. Yes, he too is a Mormon but I don't think he travels in the same rut as Robme.. At least he would show his tax returns.
Hey! I "remained silent"... why isn't my name in the mews? Okay, no more silence!
Romney wouldn't be able to get Pawlenty past his TP handlers... Porter? Or maybe that uninspiring failed accountant? Probably Porter. It's all about the red meat that Romney can't seem to give them.
Give it a rest, Tim. You did nothing here in Minnesota and left our state with an immense amount of debt, only to blame the debt on the next governor who had to deal with a state shut down. He enforced taxes and named them "fees". He screwed over our education system along with out medical system.
He doesn't even do well in his own state regarding public policy and rallying support. Good luck running as VP; you did "wonders" in our state. /sarcasm.
starsailing,
I live in Minnesota. Pawlenty (of nothing) vetoed legislation year after year after year that would have upped the gas tax in order to fund bridge and road repair. THE VERY NEXT DAY, 8.2.2007, he signed into law a gas tax with the proceeds earmarked for road and bridge repair.
PAWLENTY IS A FRICKEN CLOWN!
Looks like Mitt has all the libbies in a tizzy about who his VP will be. Whoever it is will be much better than blowhard biden and we won't have to listen to all the obamaloney!!
Pawlenty would be a boring choice for sure. I'm hoping he goes a little more bold. However...as for the bridge
from a poster above:
Does this mean you admit Obama is responsible for the economy since he claims he inherited it?
Red...when MNDOT first found out about this bad bridge safety because of gusset, they had a meeting(Pawlenty and staff) looked at the cost and gambled NO because they would have to cross Norquist pledge he took. Timmy gambled on kicking the repair down the road killing all those people and disabling numerous more....Via Norquist pledge!!!!
Romney will take Dwek Solomons over that TeaWacko Pawlenty !!!!!
If T-Paw has any sense at all, he will run like he_— and get as far away as he can from the Romney ticket. I suspect Governor Christie knew a dead end when he saw it, and has bigger plans for 2016 or 2020.
Paul Ryan is the perfect foil for Mitt Romney and both will go down in flames come November!
Toss gramma from the cliff and Mittsy will sell you a plastic casket made in China! I can see the commercials now....
Stop giving them hints, for the love of country!
i see a lot more talking between yourselves (dem party goers), petty name calling, and no debate as to why anyone should vote (again, lol) Nobama....
why should WE THE PEOPLE back nobama? where did all those jobs bills, that shovel rdy was supposed to dig a new tommorow get us? (buried) most of the same people back off work, and worse, unable to draw unemployment because no longer eligable. those who couldnt and became no longer eligable dont get counted either, same as those whose ran out. Cost of living is only starting to go thru the roof, and the nobama clown posse is wanting to print more again?!
why dont you guys bring some actual debate to the table?
Okay. First up, why won't Romney release his taxes? I'll wait for an intelligent response to that and not another question about Obama.
Oh my, we are so worried now tony...you sure you won't listen to at least one more question about Obama? Oh dear, what will we do if you don't?
He released them.
Laura,
Romney released one partial 2010 tax return. There were some schedules missing.
He has yet to even release his 2011 tax return. It is now the middle of August 2012.
He showed McCain 10 years of tax returns when being vetted for VP.in 2008.
But now that he is running for POTUS he has backtrack.
WHY???
lier-no he did not
Pekly,
Are you aware that in your 5 word comment (no word longer than 4 letters), you misspelled one word? Your ignorance is beyond hope.
Remember your grand old party's vice president Quayle who couldn't spell potato? Since when do we worry about spelling?
Because Romney represents the absolute rich and hasn't a clue how most of his electorate lives... including you. Looking back at the depth of the economic failure, the fact that it went global, the fact that sucked 40% of our net worth out of our pockets... we now realize that NO ONE could have done any more than what was done.
You forget that the stimulus was a joint effort and was composed of bipartisan projects that were as shovel ready as possible... they were already being considered for federal approval long before Obama showed up... by YOUR Senators and Representatives. Economists still say that the stimulus was effective in stopping the economic freefall... and maybe wasn't big enough.
True enough. Throwing it back at you, though, to point out the real difficulty with "job creation"... where are the jobs promised by the 2010 elected Republicans? Flushed down the toilet while they instead fought for fringe social issues.
Ignorance is bliss and rants prevail? The ones that are no longer eligible still get counted as long as they are still looking for a job. That process was put in place long ago.
Bull@!$%#. The Dems are taking the action most supported by prominent qualified economists and those most familiar with our complex economy. The Republicans... not so much... voodoo economics... trickle-down-and-out-to-the-Cayman-Islands economic theory has resulted in a weak economy, a richer upper 1%, and a 40% loss of net worth for the middle class. Lower taxes at the top ENCOURAGES CEO's to remove money from business for their own pocketing and DISCOURAGES reinvestment into things like business expansion and JOBS.
Because we're getting tired of defending against shallow arguments, twisted truths, outright lies, and pure red meat.
Poor Laura...spends her time in front of the tv watching fuxyouover news...those viewer really are an ignorant poorly informed lot...liar liar pants on fire...he released a partial return...big deal
Laura,
McCain vetted Romney and passed on him. Was it because there were things in his tax returns that McCain did not like or was it that Sarah Palin was a better candidate? I will give you a 3rd choice, both?
Wow, look at all the "clever" little quips that the liberal loons are spouting this morning. You loons must have been up all night thinking up stuff to say. Well, get used to saying President Romney!!!!
@lmarkt,
lol,
for starters, Rom, ran a buisness. most people who run one that is successful, do tend to make $, because they know how. unlike the Clown, who thinks making $$ means to fire up the money machine. As far as "not doing anything more than what had been done".. you might want to do some fact finding on Freddie/Fannie, before you go any further as to WHAT could have been done, as well put the Clown as a late partner on that list, (Ayers) ripping off taxpayers with BS work 1/2 done if done at all for the slum lords in yes, Chicago.
they were only considered for approval because the dems were crying it had to be done. yes, that SAME GROUP that also held both houses with a majority of seats, with Pelosi on stage crying how "IT HAS TO BE DONE!" and yo boy gave it all to?? unions. R&D, big corp unions, windmills from China, put up by China. Solandra (sic?), and that list i can make a long one, as to who made out other than the real people (job makers) that needed a break. ALL that $$ could have been put right back into AMERICAN BUISNESS... it wasnt. your dem party can take your entitled bailout, and take a wild guess where it can go.
i dont know, ask your wannabe president. where i live, jobs are still below the national ave, (REP STATE NOW). we give small buisness breaks and its paying off. now, can it be done on a national level? NOPE not if Nobama wants to increase taxes on those under $200,000.00 year. THAT also includes buisness, and share holders of those who are owned by norw than one entity. exsplain how stoking a small buisness, helps them create jobs? Keeps customer costs down? you know, economic reality stuff...
i would almost wonder if you are referring to me or you? you DO realise, you are COUNTED only if YOU CAN FILE A CLAIM? you OBVIOUSLY DO NOT! nuff said, lol
dont pretend none of the dems are off to their lavish places... i will call you an outright LIAR... BOTH parties have a stake in stocks, Nobama included. IF you think he is out to get on the 1%... what 1% makes as little as $200thous a year? and the big corps dont give a crap either way.... cause its SMALL BUISNESS taking the real hit. THAT has no bearing either as to printing more money! people are making LESS, and COST is going thru the roof! if you dont think that has an impact on not just COST OF LIVING, try the ECONOMY! it doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand basic math + reality. try getting off the cool aid.
hahahahaa.... then tell your (cough-gag) president to stop telling lies, twisting the truth, and thinking money is free for every one... and you might get past some BS and into an actual conversation, or debate.
Oooh let us be first to blab, that's what we do here at the news room.
Why not wait until it is announced and stop the nonsense of trying to guess? Good Grief!!!!
Is it Cheney?
...it could be Reagan and they still would stand a snowball's chances in hell of winning!
Responding to Naughty - Sorry in the 2010 Tax returns there is an addendum of off shore accounts
Which my little child was not released - ergo the 2010 Tax Returns where not fully released
Plus in 2003 there was an amnesty program by the IRS to reveal all off shore accounts - did Willard comply ? If so show us - there was a felony if not - did he comply
Knowing Willard's history of lying - when he said he paid Mass's taxes and actually paid Utah's
Why the hell did they ever allow him to run for Governor in Mass - who did he pay off?
Barbara, may I add....He also swore under oath that when he left for the Olympics he had no further involvement with Bain. His taxes would prove otherwise, and subsequently perjury.
How about obumbo show us his school records or med records or passport records??? How about reid or pelosi show their tax records??? Yeh, I thought so!
There has never been a precedent for releasing college records. Unfortunately for Mitt, his father set the precedent for releasing taxes long ago. As for Pelosi, her tax returns were public.
Do you know what Harvard Law Review is????? Please educate yourself. I dont care where Mutt was born, raised or schooled, I care that he is a liar and has perjured himself. I care that he cannot come up with ONE plan that can either be scored or scored well. I care that he and his wife believe we need to know nothing.
I have ask many who would vote for this man to please tell me of ONE, just ONE plan that he has to improve the economy. Care to give it a shot because I have not had one viable answer to date. You really can't because Mutt decided that you and I as voters don't need to know the details.
My recently expanded list of whom Mittens should NEVER pick:
Well, it can't be Ryan; he scares seniors.
It can’t be Pawlenty; he scares himself.
It can't be Rubio; he scares Latinos, or at least Latinos who are brown.
It can’t be Condi; she scares Mormons, or at least Mormons who are white.
It can't be Portman; he scares people who remember Bush.
It can’t be Paul; he scares people who can’t remember a dang thing.
It can't be Jindal; he scares Marge Simpson.
It can’t be Trump; he scares Marge’s stylist.
It can’t be Haley; she scares the Far Right wing.
It can’t be Christie; he scares the entire chicken.
It can't be Ayotte; she scares men.
It can't be McDonnell; he scares women. Well, those with...you know.
It can't be Bachman; she scares the living.
It can't be someone human; too stark a contrast.
That leaves Palin.
Wait, let's start over.
hahahahaha
Too bad I didn't see a really good argument in all of that. Mud slinging, anyone?
Feisty
RetRedhead can't reply to you Aralee because she's moved on to the next political post.Msn, whoo hoo, wonderful post. I'm still laughing.
Whom ever!? Just us know... Bring on the dessert. "They say, " LET THEM EAT CAKE!" I say, "let us CUT the cake.." WHOO HAH.
skyparrot: It's nbcnews not MSN. MSN has split from nbcnews because of the biased news of NBC.
You know Laura, I read these stories just to see what people think. The most interesting thing I've found, however, is that you see Fiesty, elvis, and skyparrot (who really is a parrot because she asks everyone for their GED if they have a differing opinion than hers), and everything degenerates from there. I don't see any real discussion of the issues, just attacks on anyone who expresses themselves. Is this what the Liberal sides with? Is that how they get votes?
I'm open to discuss any and all politics. If I don't know something, I'll make the effort to look it up and discuss it. But when you express an opinion, don't just call me names, then I'll give you respect. No matter what your opinion is.
Sorry, Laura, it's just so discouraging to realize the name callers actually get to vote. It makes me sad.
right on the head aralee,
there is and never has been any debate on the topics, just petty little girl slaps with name calling, and collapse of post when their side has lost. usually the entitled dont tolerate things they dont like to hear, mostly the truth. so they storm out of the room, or hang up the phone, with a remark when you can give no reply.
I noticed that about Skyparrot and Feisty has been annoying the crap out of me since The Great Pretender got elected in 08. Maybe once Romney's in the White House she'll crawl back into her hole.
Look at all of you tripping over each other to talk about Feisty.
There's an ignore feature if you're that distraught about a differing opinion or posting style than your own.
Seriously, if you get annoyed as much as you claim, you only have yourself to blame.
Sorry Laura - and Mossy - your minds are so made up how can anyone discuss with you
You constantly attack the liberal thinking with your Faux Entertainment talking points that make it difficult for discussion
Maybe look at yourselves - for not compromise
We understand it you hate Democrats - so what is the compromise - if you hate someone?
Good one
@youraloser,
So you don't agree with us press the ignore button to your right.
Really 60% of the Dr's don't like it. I want you to go back to those Dr's and tell them not to treat patient with ACA. Let's see how fast they get a paycheck in the private market. 1/3 = 100 Million people can't afford to go to the doctors and most of them are children.
So keep up this free market capital BS because I bet you are one of the people who's grandmother or mother is on social security. Tell your F-N mother to give back her socialist check she don't deserve it. This way you can help take care of her the right way, your own way. Now press the ignore button on that.
Pretty sure it's more than 60%. The housing collapse was bad, the doctor/healthcare collapse is going to be devastating.
That Fox News gets thrown into the conversation every time it doesn't go their way reminds me of childhood arguments on the playground. That they insist on spelling it incorrectly, like it's some really clever jab, is even more entertaining.
It's no different than the Obama campaign talking about Romney's taxes, or Bain instead of the economy or his presidency these last 3.5 years. A real leader leads, a politician blames and deflects. Obama may not be much of a president but he is one hell of a politician.
It would have been awesome if the first black president had also been a decent president instead he's just another Chicago thug.
so true Red, i dont think i watch other than family guy on fox, and thats on the internet :) . i do read news, and if i were such a FOX fan, why on earth would i be here? even MSNBC being the one who actually articles i had been referring to for bit of a time. long before Nobama the Clown was cheesed into our laps.
Thing is, if the Clown was great, why is it, nobody likes him but "the few"? Best part is, the polls are all based on working stiffs who still have jobs. entitled jobs, and un-entitled. What about all those working stiffs who still have not found a job, or took a huge cut in pay to work 2-3 remedial jobs? ya... i was one of those for 3 yrs, and am still left eith a choice, entitlement job, or no job. some choice.
I hope it's not Tim Pawlanty , thats all we need two nerd's , What is wrong with the Republician Party , Where are all the brains , If thats the ticket we loss again. Sux.
Michele Bachmann ate them.
You mean like she's doing in my avatar?
We know that is you at your favorite gay bar tony...come on.
Was it transvestite night?
".... What is wrong with the Republician Party , Where are all the brains..."
It isn't that I left the Republican party, they left me.
As a former Eaganite (tpaw was a councilman of Eagan, MN, representative and then governor when I lived there), if he were on the ticket, I still won't vote for Romney/Pawlenty.
tpaw, as he is unaffectionately called in Minnesota, doesn't know his arse from a hole in the ground. No wonder Romney may be courting his participation. The birds of a feather will flock together.
Interesting! I had a client today that lives in a "flat tax" state with 100% of their income coming from another state with a progressive rate. His income is about $240k. He couldn't understand why his income tax was more in the flat tax state. I explained that in the progressive state the effective rate is an averaging of the lower and higher rates and is still 1.5% less that his flat tax rate state of residency (he intentionally moved because of the flat tax).
Finally he understood it. ....pause.... now he is against a flat tax.
The only solution is to raise the top rate 10-20% with a large enough flow-through credit for employers to effectively reduce their overall tax rate structure similiar to the rest of us, IF they are paying a "livable" wage AND providing 75% of the employees health care coverage. That takes employees off of the government's teat and rewards quality employers. Added bonus for manufacturing keeping jobs here in america. As for retail/wholesale, where are they going to go with their jobs? They are landlocked geographically by their business model. If they close up, the other companies will pick up the other companies employees.
Jay,
I agree.
The GOP even in MN has been taken over by the tea party and religious right.
They think people like Arnie Carlson and even Dave Durenberger as too liberal.
Pawlenty will not help Romney, but he probably will not do something really stupid like Palin on 2008.
tonybeeerm,
You mean like she's doing in my avatar?
I don't much like Michelle Bachman, But the the media is aweful putting that picture in the news and your aweful for continuing to use it. do you think her eating a hotdog has anything to do with her politics? regardless the picture is probably the most looked at on the internet. Why? because people that choose sides based on party lines only, form an opinion based on this crap. I can only wish that people like you could form your own opinion based on relevancey as opposed to what side you choose. its like the blown out of purportion statement Sarah Palin Made "I can see Russia from my back yard" did the media state or even refer to the fact that Alaskans often use that term slangly? NO! they wanted to smear her any way they could. Why? is it because the media ultimatly knows whats best for our Nation? I don't think so. It's because they have no respect for anyone that opposes their agenda.
Nathan - Michelle Bachmann is bat-crap-crazy you and I both know that
And she has done more damage to America by her wild charges - against - lesbians - muslims- homosexuals - with her husband's government funded pray away the gays - BS
So why not relishing a hot dog? Maybe she really is deep throat - who knows?
No, but that may be your VP candidate if Mitt can't find anyone else to take the gig.
@ youraloser - only if you promise to eat it, you totally uneducated twit. That moniker fits you perfectly, except it's you're a loser. And when you ask someone a question in writing, you end it with a question mark (?). And furthermore, it's cornhole. Jesus H Christ you trolls are beyond stupid and should volunteer to go before a death panel.
Sure, but I bet you have no problem with pictures of President Obama with a bone through his nose, do you? And btw, use that option on the far right of the toolbar. It's not aweful, it's awful. Your welcome.
Actually Tony, he's a re-reg of JollyOldSoul1 who has been banned!
So, not only is Harry a loser, he's a cheater to boot!
...I'm beginning to think that the "tea" party consists of 3 idiots and one computer...and one full set of teeth between them.
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell saw his chances of being chosen as Mitt Romney’s running mate get a massive boost on Wednesday with a poll that showed just how popular he is in his home state.
The Old Dominion is seen as one of the key swing states in November’s presidential election and the governor’s figures could help Romney win the state.
The Quinnipiac University poll showed McDonnell has 52 percent approval rating for his job in the state. Just 29 percent disapprove of him.
The poll results could not have come at a better time for McDonnell, who is due to join Romney on a bus tour this week. He is considered in the second tier of possible running mates, behind Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan
McDonnell has impressed me more and more. Romney really has a tough choice. So much talent to choose from.
My batting order...
1). Rubio
2). Ryan
3). McDonnell
4). Christie
5). Petraeus
Bob, did the pollsters speak to any women? The Vaginal Prober won't do to well amongst the conscious female population, however, he should do well among the Stepford Wives Club, brain dead anyway.
Even the Cubbies could beat THAT lineup, BB. Wait a minute, aren't the Cubs from....oh, sorry.
Christie batting clean-up! Priceless!
I wouldn't be so quick to throw 2016 out there. Do you really think Bill Clinton is going to let Obama win this election? Think about it. Hillary will likely run in 2016 if Obama wins reelection there is no way we will have 3 terms of a democrat at the helm. It doesn't matter what party, there just won't be three terms. So if Obama wins reelection it means Hillary can't win in 2016. Bill isn't going to wait until 2020 to get back into the White House.
Well...if you keep on ranting for the GOP, it will pretty much guarantee at least 20 more years of a Democratic White House.
If Rmoney wants to lose the state of MN, he should definitely choose Pawlenty for VP. You have to excuse the lapse of idiocy that permitted Bachmann to be elected to Congress, but the rest of the state KNOWS how incompetent Pawlenty is.
Underground,
I do believe it will be Pawlenty.
According to a report today in MNPost, Romeny is shceduled to have a fundraiser in MN on Aug 23.
This is four days before the convention!!
It will be hosted by Rudy Boschwitz(former Senator), Norm Coleman(former Senator) and Tim Pawlenty. It will be at the toney Layfayette Club.
Sounds like a coming out party for T-Paw as VP in his home state.
Come November, MN will still be in the blue cloumn and T-Paw will still be out of a real job.
the state of minnesota will support this, Pride will carry him, even if he isnt the best choice, this always happens, even if the candidate was unpopular
Nathan,
RealClearPolitics has Obama leading Romney by 10.5%. Rasmussen isnt even doing a poll in the state because they know it will go blue, just like 2008.
NO WAY in hell does Pawlenty give Romney an 11% bump in Minnesota.
I kinda like Pawlenty myself - I think he'd take a balanced, common sense approach.
like help enforce the blue law in the future ?..look it up?..blue law??
Pat...nothing balanced about our ex Gov.Pawlenty. Shut the government down because of Norquist pledge. Defunded Highway repair funds and ignored bridge repair warning that killed a number of people. Total obstructionist. On camera he smiles like a church boy, in reality a vindictive snotty smart mouth that flips out when he does not get his way!
Hell with Pawlenty, he was a loser when he was governor. Remember movies was out( I might be wrong about different movies and I will say right now Sorry about that): The Omen, The Bad Seed, The Shining, I hope you get my drift. He stopped many projects and wanted Medicaid to be taken away from people on SSI plus food stamps. Good, have him be VP and let him destroy what this country really stands for the people. Doesn't the Statue of Liberty say give us your Poor and huddled masses? Bring him in as VP The GOP will lose to Obama. I am a Dem. but have voted one year to bring Jesse on board(boy what a term none of the country will never forget), same as Pawlenty. Mitt choose wisely.
Does not say rob from the poor and give to the rich either...Romneyhood and his band of little men.
If Pawlenty is Romneys running mate, Willard better show his birth certificate because Pawlenty hates Mexicans or anyone that speaks Spanish.
I believe Willard was born in Mexico. Wheres the birth certicate Willard in the same box with your tax returns?
Wanna go down that road Jerry? Where's Obama's passport info or his college applications and transcripts? Why has he spent millions to have them sealed? I'm for seeing both sides...all records. But, if you open the can, you have to deal with the worms.
I don't think there are really too many people in the US anymore who are so ignorant as to be truly prejudiced, unless it's the "reverse" prejudice card you all keep playing.
Absolutely, where is Willard's "long form" birth certificate..I heard he came across the border at Neuveo Laraedo in the trunk of a '53 Chevy...His father was born in Mexico...just how many Senoras are there down there with the Romney name??...just askin'...
hahahahaha
arlee, you need to get your head out of trumps rump, you've been inhaling to many toxic fumes. Let's take a look see at your GED transcripts. Silly twit.
Obama 2012
Skyparrot, you sound just like Fiesty, aggressive, but no real substance. Nice mud you're slinging, though.
how stupid are people that when they type a question (complete with question mark) they have to then state that they are "just askin'" Duh. Obviously.
Laura-476504
I will let Aralee respond
Aralee
At least Aralee has an original thought, but I'll give you a D for effort.
mitt is part mexican, and he will never agnoledge it-b cause he wants 2 b white, white
So does Obummer
@ Bob Olson,
So if President Obama is the worst then what was bush and what of Flip Myth Omney?
The worst person in the world is not showing your tax returns for 8 years to present.
You are the worst person in the woooorlldd. Flip Myth Omney
Show your god dam tax returns so President Obama can show his excellent transcripts for Harvard.
When T-Paw was gov. here in MN..he wanted to close public libraries because "nobody uses them...(a lie..they are crowded), and anyone can just walk in and check out books, music, use computers..all for free!..Libraries are in direct competition with Barnes and Noble, etc, and that smacks of socialism"...or something to that effect...He was the worst governor MN has had in a long time. I hope Willard picks him just like McCain picked Palin..the best thing that could happen to the Democrats..
That's right Rich, just like lunch at McDonald's. All those computers, Books, Music and the Library building with all those free utilities, plumbing and A/C all just fell from the sky when Jack cut down the bean stalk.
Sounds like an Obama fairytale.
oh, my God! I remember the woman on TV who said she voted for Obama because he was gonna get her gas bill paid for her. Delusional people!
paul Are you for closing Libraries?
Does it matter who boozo myth romneyhood picks?
NOOOOOOO.........
Didn't expect you to comprehend, Smitty. There is no "free ride" was the point. Libraries are great but many cities have branches on every street corner (figure of speech, Smitty). In poor economic times some of the fluff needs to be cut and that may justify closing some or many of the under used facilities. Hard pill to swallow but sometimes there is no other choice.
It's really sad when you look at what we have to pick from to be our LEADERS!
Very true, seems to always be what the voters think is the better of two evils. It is also sad, that in the polling data, Obama is very close in points to Mitt, he should be miles a head, this speak volumes to me.
I'm scared of the electoral college, which should have been abandoned a long time ago. Should be the popular vote only!
I agree completely. The electoral college was supposed to help hold the original 13 colonies together by the way it functioned. I don't think we need to worry about that any more. We need the president to be directly elected by the people, and quit with the state by state tallying business. It is unnecessary to complicate such a simple principal as popular vote.
Aralee - Obama didn't need a passport he was born in Hawaii - are you so obtuse that you do not recognize the 50th state of the Union
Let me ask you Aralee do you have a passport? And where have you traveled to West Virginia?
Aralee - I would venture to guess you don't even know what a US passport looks like
Only 30% of Americans have passports - what a pity when the world beckons them
So Arlee - show me your passport!
T Paw would be a great vp he run Mn into the ground but maby his faith base will pay taxs they didnt in MN.
Wow, I'm looking at all this mud slinging.... and, wow, an epiphany. No wonder Obama won. He's the most champion mud slinger of them all... although he uses surrogates so he doesn't dirty his hands. Chicago politics at it's best. Hmmm.
did jesus tell you to say That?
Jesus threw the crooks out of His temple, just as we will throw the liars and crooks out of our White House
laura..those people who you say are the tea party..God fearing people?.scribes and Pharisees from the dead has rose again
arlee, GED transcripts please, trump rumper.
Obama 2012
Actually, elvis, I'm someone who keeps looking at both sides, DEM and REP and make up my own mind, despite all the negative crap being thrown from BOTH sides. I almost voted Obama four years ago. I am so glad I didn't.
Look at all the mud he slung at Hillary four years ago? Despite that, her husband, who has always been a sleaze to her, is supporting Obama. Which makes me discount her to ever lead, that she can't stand up to her own husband and be respected.
That being said, look at every election he's been in, in recordable history. Either he, or his surrogates sling so much crap over the fence that he wins by default. I can't tell you how sad I find that, first, because he never gets called on it, and second, that our society is so apathetic that most don't pay attention to it. They just listen to the ads and ignore. I guess we deserve such a useless President.
funny..newt, bauchmann,,Palin ..and this clown told America Romney was not a christian...but now defend him with a frown now?
Nice spin, ya all, to turn it towards religion, but I'm no zealous nut.
Oh, and, skyparrot, hate to burst your bubble, but I'm an educated person; was a very successful accountant for fourteen years before deciding to stay at home and be a partner in the education of my children. Nice try though. I have to give you credit for the attempted smear.
not smear . its the truth...
Laura,
Jesus? In a Romney White House? Are you nuts?
Ah, I see, elvis and skyparrot, I'm welcome here as long as I agree with you.
Skyparrot tells me to pull my head out of Trumps rear, you call me a religious nut, I reply without name calling.
Lets see....hmmmm. I'll let everyone else make up their minds about you two.
Is it a lie??
You know, he belongs to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, right? Hello?
It's still better than who Obama has in the White House Darlin'
Good for you, Laura.
Laura,
Can you explain why tens of millions of Christian fundamentalists throughout the United States refer with absolute adamance to "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" as a "false religion"?
Could it be, perhaps, because of the Mormon position on the Holy Trinity?
Jesus is a bit-player in their faith. Always has been.
It's all about Joseph Smith....and we ALL know what his motives were.
...and as for LDS including His name in theirs, Hitler's party chose to include in their name the word "socialist," as in "National Socialist Workers Party."
The NAZI's were to SOCIALISM as FOX is to NEWS. Name only. Just like LDS.
You don't know much do you?
The Nazis were socialist alright, only difference between them and the Reds is that the nazis were only nationalist in the scope of their program and wanted to reunite the germanic people into one huge reich. The Reds wanted the whole world, while the Nazis ended up taking on the entire world. The means to the end were basicallythe same as were the means of retaining power.
Joe Smith......?......I used to use that name when I checked into motels with my girlfriend back in highschool!
@ All ROMNEY SUPPORTS......
Joseph Smith - "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"
History -Joseph wanted to have many wives so he made his religion up.
The Bible can be used for evil as well.
Just look at what the religious right want to do to poor people.
Pure Evil. Pure Evil
Aralee and Laura...The Mormon church includes the Old Testament in with their scriptures. In the Old Testament there is that section commonly referred to as the Ten Commandments. Are you familiar with those? In those Ten Commandments, there is that pesky one saying something or other about the bearing of false witness...Are you familiar with that one?
Good. Now...whether or not you agree with this particular commandment, please explain to me why you would be willing to support a "man" that so flagrantly spits on his own religion as Romney does. Is it painful for you to watch a former Bishop of the Mormon church fumble over his own lies on a daily basis?
Will Pawlenty show us his taxes ? He had a little problem with that didn't he ?
No Sue, what's sad are the dumb people who vote for them and make them our leaders. Fact is, some are better than others. But, the problem with Republicans is that they will do everything in their power to ensure nothing good comes about so they can win back the WHite House by blaming all the problems on the president who they won't let push through any agenda. One Senator can kill a bill and that's exactly what the republicans in the Senate have been doing. They haven't passed anything they just simply say no. Same with those retarded Tea Baggers. The democrats laid back and watched Bush destroy two countries and bankrupt ours. SO the dems are spineless and the repubs are dangerous. Quit voting maybe we would get different results.
The way it stands now any ways is like an oligarchy with the exception of a few. So, find something to do with your time that's more productive than voting and bickering over stupid political partizanship.
The sooner you do that the more you will enjoy life and probably accomplish alot more.
daotien,
I agree with your statement in one specific category: It seems a lost point of order that the federal government is operated by "we, the people"; so, in fact, whatever your political persuasion, it all starts with YOU. All of us are "to blame" for the failures (or successes) of our country. Unfortunately, some Americans have been convinced that this is like a sporting event where one side has to be victorious or "Better than the Other" in some way.
Neither the donkeys or elephants are "in charge". who is "in charge" are the wealthiest .01% of Americans, of which group Mitt Romney belongs to. they are laughing all the way to the bank-err Cayman Islands because they have the poor old little people making fun of each other all over internet boards and other earth bound cafe's and wal-marts while they keep counting the money diverted (stolen?) from the US Treasury. BOTH parties, all nationally recognized politicians, President Obama included, are making sure the interests of "we the people" are trampled in the interest of making the rich richer. The Oligarchs have hit on the right approach, they simply fund both sides of the "argument", more or less evenly, let the minions go out and "fight" about the "issues" and ultimately vote for and allow laws to be prosecuted in the name of "the people" for the good of the "very few". THey have us all fooled; as Gore Vidal infamously stated, “It makes no difference who you vote for - the two parties are really one party representing four percent of the people”.
So, to affirm your concept of oligarchy: it is not the failed policies of the left or right, it is the failed policies of the elected leaders of American Government, and thus, the failure belongs to "we the people". As Benjamin Franklin stated, "we have a Republic, if you can keep it". And, if you are being honest with yourself, you will note the leaders of this concept may not consider the current situation a failure, they may consider it exactly what has been planned.
And how is it that Willard states today that he has 100 million in his 401k..when all the ordinary citizen can only contribute $17,000 per year?....and why is he so reluctant to produce his tax returns like every other candidate since Reagan, and why does he refuse to produce his "long form" birth certificate?..is it true that he was born in Mexico, like his father??...a lot of unanswered questions that need investigation...
contribute being the operative word there Richey. He can EARN as much on his investments as he wants.
laura, GED transcripts please.
Obama 2012
you need to come up with a better pick-up line Darlin'
You know, Laura, I'm starting to really like you. Rich, Romney has had time to invest into it, no matter what the limits were. Yes, he can only contribute so much, but it can be company matched. If he contributed, smartly invested, which he seems to have a talent for, and leaves it in his 401k, both his contributions and employer contributions plus profits, compounding on the profits he already earned, over time? You bet, it can add up. I'd love to see where you found the $100 million number from, though.
thats b cause he is or half mexican, dont bother me none-just b honest-rompne is a lier an that fact has already been proven from jump street
Mitt has accounts over seas, so he won't have to pay taxes.
I'm sure you use every available tax deduction and loophole legally available to you as well don't you? If not, you're not to bright.
Not true, he has reported all over seas savings, and the IRS now has hooks into over seas banks and finds out who all has, what use to be hidden.
laura, great fortunes are amassed by great moral crimes. GED transcripts please.
Obama 2012
Liberal Mind----"But the TV man told me Mitt hides money and the bloggers said he don't pay no taxes. I hate Romney for stealing from me........by the way...........Where is my $5000 tax refund check when i only paid $3500 in income taxes"
50 percent of this country pays NO income taxes yet complain about what the rich don't pay. Class warfare biggest problem in this campaign and the boob-tube generation is buying it. Watch this great country crumble because of the ignorance of the masses.
Sure every other person in the USA would take every tax break they could.
But if you want to run for office or as much as the highest political seat then you better keep your nose clean and by that I mean better keep it cleaner than Mary Poppins.
Romney's too dirty, many times more than the average citizen trying to squeeze what tiny little breaks they can with they're yearly income.
Skyparrot... I'm beginning to understand the name. You sound like a parrot. Or maybe a broken record. Typical Democrat resorting to name-calling when you have no argument.
Laura,
You don't get around the boards much if you think SkyParrot is anything but tame in regard to name-calling. That honor lies solidly with the recently arrived FOXNEWS.com Orphans, cast aside by Roger Aisles when FOX shut down their forums in their entirety. Now why would they have done that?
Ummm, he first had to pay taxes on that income in the United States, Sue, before putting it overseas. If I had that kind of money, I, also, would put it anywhere, that was moral and legal, to earn more money for my family and to pass it on to my children and their children. That's what most don't get. He has done nothing illegal, and we would all do the same thing if we had the opportunity!
This is such a dead horse, I can't believe you guys are all buying into it! AND, he's trying to bring down the tax rates in this country so they can be COMPETITIVE with the world, so others like him, who have this kind of income can INVEST in this country, not some other!
I'm just shaking my head!
If Obama was able to make this much money, don't you think he'd pay the taxes first on it in the US, then ship it out to another economy that is growing faster or pays more interest and dividends, gives him a better return? If you don't answer this question yes, then you are delusional. The only hook Obama has on Romney is the fact that HE is NOT as successful and hasn't had to make that choice yet.
I'd much rather put my hopes on someone who has been successful, knows how to research, makes good decisions, and takes his lumps. I can't say the same for Obama.
No, I'm not a troll, thanks for noticing. I just was interested in this story and what people might be saying about it. Unfortunately, I have to sift through tons of drivel to find any real substance.
Oh, and not trying to sound like I'm ranting, but I have looked at both Romney's and Obama's tax returns, analyzed all the supporting schedules, and I was actually really surprised we put Obama in office, based on how his financial reasoning is.
Aralee........you have not looked at Romneys taxes....one is incomplete and the other is just an estimate of what it maybe will be...which it won't be........he filed for extension into Nov. so you will not see.
You have absolutely no knowledge of his tax plans or taxes. Just the other day Romney announced tax breaks for the top 5% and makes the middle class and poor pay for it up to $2000 increase on middle class. Fact checked beyond by independents.
Ryan plan even worse that he also supports which kills Social security, Medicare, and Medicaid. His plan is for rich friends to privatize.
Romney caught once more lying about when he left at Bain with his Luxembourg account from crashing and stripping Italy phone company of assets.
Aralee...you need to be paying attention on current events before you post.
Aralee...um...How can you have looked at Romney's taxes...???
Be careful...we have seen how Laura feels about liars. She's going to have to turn on you now...
"It's possible that Tim Pawlenty is days from stepping onto a stage before thousands of cheering supporters as Mitt Romney's newly-minted running mate"
Since when did Romney start drawing more than a couple dozen or tops hundred people at any event? let alone thousands?
The libs on this site are running out of labels for their namecalling.
Too bad no facts are provided to support their fears.
I guess its time to work the word "racist" back in somewhere.
Gotta find something devisive to say.
a jones, how often do come here and read these posts? Your side is so very much worse than "the libs". On another thread a poster named "Tony Smith" says "No more Obama. Get that trash out of the white house". Another, Larry Robinson, is voting for "the American". They call President Obama "boy" and some even use the "n" word. So sorry - what you've read here is nothing compared to what the extreme side of the republican party posts.
True Americans they are they hold the flag up sing the song .chest out..while the whole time send our jobs over seas???now that's patriotic
I hate it as well, been going on since the late 80's, and before, though in 1994 was laid off at IBM after 15 years of dedicated work, they as other corporations send most work overseas, which is like to me, screw you,who helped us succeed in America, this is how we pay you back. Seems every President has supported it. I heard recently it has come back to bite corp profits, and those workers are now demanding rights, and more money.
I hope it happens
Feisty; Your avatar certainly goes along with your views.
Indeed!
daotien, You are right!
Jon Jones--thanks for bringing skin color into the discussion. It's so pertinent.
Well, obviously LIBBYNBC is just as scared of reality as you are Berenda. Seems to be entirely deleted. Welcome to post my views only journalism at its finest.
