Romney bus tour fuels VP speculation

WASHINGTON and WOLFEBORO, N.H. -- The veepstakes speculation just got more fuel.

The Romney campaign today officially announced its swing-state bus tour beginning Saturday. It will start in Virginia; then head to North Carolina Sunday, the day the Olympics conclude; Florida Monday, Aug. 13; and end in Ohio Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Potential vice-presidential picks will be making appearances.

NBC's Alex Moe reports that Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA) will join Romney on the first leg of the tour in Virginia.

NBC's Andrew Rafferty reports that Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), a veep front runner, will join Romney in Ohio.

*** UPDATE *** Marco Rubio will join Romney on part of the Florida leg of the bus tour.

Today, Romney huddled with top aides, including chief strategist Stu Stevens, and Beth Myers, head of the VP search process, for more than two hours at his lakeside home on Monday. Also present -- senior adviser Eric Fehrnstrom and Policy Director Lanhee Chen.

One aide described the meeting as a strategy session, and denied that the vice-presidential selection was discussed.

It's possible a Romney vice-presidential pick is made on the bus tour, but it's also possible that it is designed to create buzz and excitement around the campaign and a VP selection is announced after it.

not all congressman and senators have released their taxes- not sure where you get your info- they do release financials but that doesnt mean their returns are in there- and more then half of all congressman and senators have overseas bank accts in including Wasserman-Schultz, Pelosi's own brother secured multi-million dollar grant and she herself went in w/a six figure bank acct and now has many millions- I think both parties steal and lie

to have a net gain in jobs because of new people in the wrok force- from college and highschool you would have to create 250k a month- thats to break even- we are way behind that-I see no progress from the progressive party except massive debt

We've had 29 consecutive months of private sector growth and were losing 750,000 as Obama took office. Come on, my glass in half full.

so we see that uncle joe has been given another week of r&r. clearly obama is experiencing buyer's remorse with his choice of mr. gaffe last time around. joe has nothing to add so it would seem, and i have it on good authority, that bill will nominate hillary for vp. that is unless monica shows up and distracts him.

also heard that barry is going to dump michelle. that helps explain the recent flip-flop on gay marriage. barry is going to ask harry to move into the white house to be his main squeeze. after all we do remember harry fawning all over barry a few years ago when he said:

"Harry Reid, the Democrat Senate Majority Leader and the national government's highest-ranking Mormon (just like romney), has admitted now remarking apparently with some amazement on the nation's highest-ranking black Democrat as being notably "light-skinned" and having "no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one."

i added the bold for the religious bigots on the left.

          • It doesn't matter who Romney picks for his VP. He's going to lose. His numbers get worse every single day. Even Fox has him behind. And in swing states like Ohio, PA, Michigan and Colorado -- the news is even worse. Romney just may be the phoniest person to run for president in the last 100 years. Sorry Republicans --- 2012 isn't your year and if you don't come up with better candidates and better ideas, 2016 may not work out all that well for you either.

Romney is only behind when you overweight Democrats. In the Quinnipiac polls that had Romney down by six in FL, OH, and PA, they asked the respondents who they voted for in 2008. The respondents reported that in FL they voted for BO over McCain by 13 points but BO's margin of victory was only 3 points. In OH, the overweighting of BO supporters was also ten points, 15 vs. BO's margin of victory of 5. So support for BO was overweighted by ten in both those states yet BO only had a six point lead in those states. If you look at the internals of most of the other polls, you find the same overweighting of Democrats. Besides, it should be expected that the challenger is behind. Clinton was behind Bush until the Dems convention, Reagan was neck and neck with Carter until the actual voting started. The important number to look at is BO's approval rating, and that is negative in most polls. Romney will win in a landslide.

I've heard that Bill called Mitt, and asked about the chance of having Hillary run as Mitt's VP.

They said that if Obama is reelected, they both know it dooms Hil's chances in 2016.

He said Obama is such an abysmal failure in everything that really matters to the country, in 2016 the electorate will sweep the Republicans into power like never seen before.

excuse me, I'm old and go through memory lapses, some one tell me where you get the idea that it is a requirement to release income tax returns to run for President? I do not remember Bush1 or 2 doing it or Carter, Reagan, Clinton (well there was all that flap about his and Hilary's connievence in a loan scandal in Ark.) releasing their tax returns. is it in one of the amendments to the Constitution? because it is not in Article 2 on the age and citizenship requirements to be Pres. if it isn't in the Constitution, it is not a requirement to run or be elected to the office. but as the Dems have brought the subject up, I would like to know how Obama went from a lowly paid Senator to a multi-millionaire in the "oval office". I doubt it was from writting a book. some thing stinks like 3 day old fish. and its comming from the senate majority leader and the oval office.

I just can't believe the Liberal drivable that is being posted here. It shows once again the liberals have no thought process other than to do exactly what the DNC instructs them to. Yes Romney is a loser but Obama is a catastrophe. Obama thrives on Chaos and lies. I don't think the man has to old one true thing since he ran for senate. he even told enough lies to defeat hilary Clinton at her own game. Now that takes a lying aficionado. I can tell that our children have been taught the Socialism is the answer and that Capitalism is bad. That working for what you want isn't the right way but sharing everything amongst everyone is the fair way. They don remember or Know what Russia went through for 70 years before they were able to break away and only after the Free World lead by the USA could they do that. These people claim to be Patriots but they want to destroy the very thing that gives them the right to think the way they do without being killed for it. Liberalism is the Party of failure. Anyone that is successful based on Liberalism is evil and taking away from someone else. To make it simple if I have a wide-screen TV becasue I worked at two jobs and saved my money to buy it my neighbor should also get one so I don't make him fell bad or I should just give up the one i have so as to not hurt someones feelings. what Archaic Bull @!$%#.

I think Romney should give much more consideration to Col.Allen West of Florida, or perhaps he is , and is keeping it quiet and is going to spring it at the last minute to really throw a monkey-wrench into the left-wing Socialist Media's bumbling, and to make them look even Stupider than they are. A strong Conservative Military Man of Color, and proven political and Military Leader, who is not afraid to take on the race-baiting left wing Socialist Loud Mouths, is exactly what we need in a Vice President.

Okay, okay, wouldn't cause a huge stir if Willard chose Michelle Bachmann contingent on her immediate departure to Utah to take second lady lessons. She'll have to wear cotton homespun dresses sprinkled with tiny little forget-me-nots, crochet collars, her hair in a bun sitting around in full apron looking like a female-robot politician; while Anne constantly reminds her "I'm the first lady - sisterwife." Wasn't this a reality show???? First off will you idiots shut the F up about his Taxes He's a business man and has filed taxes and took every loop hole available, WHY not !. If I was him I wouldn't bring them up either because the F liberals including Obama thugs will try to make something out of it. Oh and also the liberal Media, like MSN, CBS, NBC etc etc. would have a field day with it.

Now back to his running mate. The only choice is Rubio from FL. Why? Because he is very smart and quick on his feet. I trust him more than Obama any day of the week. Romney will take FL for sure, it will swing the Independent Voters, and the Hispanic Vote which will be needed. And I think it will be very possible that if things changes for the good with Romney as President you could very well see Rubio as the first Hispanic President WHY NOT! And by the way I'm white (proud of it) and a Democrat for the past 40 years. I have always voted for the person not the Party. Can you Liberal Democrats say the same thing. I voted for Clinton and voted for Reagon.

Bob McDonnell (R-VA) - excellent choice. Wasn't he in support of the trans- vaginal ultrasound for women wanting an abortion? Also, didn't he give credit to President Obama for the jobs numbers in Virginia? I'm sure these and other facts will give Obama/Biden more votes if McDonnell is chosen. Just something to think about - someone against women's rights and someone who supports the actions of a Democratic president.

                              Election 2012: Indiana President

                              Romney Up Big in Indiana

                              Sunday, August 05, 2012

Four years ago, President Obama became the first Democrat since 1964 to win Indiana. He looks unlikely to repeat that feat.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state finds challenger Mitt Romney picking up 51% of the vote while the president earns just 35%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and 11% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The Indiana survey of 400 Likely Voters was conducted July 31-August 1, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.

For all you swing-state libtards, you just lost another state!!!

                              Romney 2012!!! Yeah Baby!!!

Romney's likeable rating is 32%. That is probably just his tea party, right wing base. He has 90 days to make 20% more of America like him enough to vote for him. It ain't going to happen. It most likely will get worse for Mitt the Twit when he bombards television with all the negative ads that his super?-pacs have paid for. His 32% is his high water mark. It will fall even lowwer in the next 90 days.
