Yes--and the "job creators" paying their lowest taxes in generations has not resulted in more jobs--we should be awash in jobs, but we're not. Why does Cantor think that continuing on this pathway of lower taxes for these folks will somehow magically make it any different?

Lower taxes on wealthy as a jobs stimulous is a twofold ploy:
1. Make the wealthy your friends.
2. Starve the beast so that there are no funds to support social, government programs.
Social programs are unnecessary for the wealthy and denying things like education funding and health benefits to the not-wealthy keeps all of the goodies "in the family" so to speak. You see, "you people" are poor, unwashed, white trash and are deserving only of working your whole lives in a nowhere job or cleaning the toilets of the weatlhy. Not giving "you people" any benefits will keep you were you belong.
Yes, indeedy: the nation's business has come to a complete stop. When you put people in Congress that are barely literate, that is the result.

The Democrats in the Senate are locked into what the President wants. Why they do not have the guts to tell him he is wrong is beyond me but thats another point. They feel they have to go along with his agenda.
In 2010 the American people sent a message to them that said no. We want no part of this failed plan. Yet the President only did not get the message and he has kept up his dismal policies and the Dems have to back him.
That is why you liberals will lose in November because you tried to hold America hostage and it didn't work and you are unable to see the folly of your ways.

why would the president extend takes on the wealthy when 68% of americans want them raised? its like we all dont exist in the mind of any republican. its time to say good-bye to the republicans and the tea party and put people with a heart in their place, for right now anything is better than a republican/tea partier.
I'm beginning to think Obama should threaten to veto all proposals to extend ANY tax breaks. Let's go back to Clinton tax rates for everybody.
But at the same time, Obama needs to propose meaningful reform for social security and taxes. Let's reform or let's go back to what was working before.

Yesterday’s WSJ had a Hillaryous editorial about how the Barry admin’s plan to use the HUGE January 1, 2013 defense appropriation sequester to bludgeon the Republican’s into accepting tax increases is blowing up in their faces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These morons apparently forgot about a 1988 federal law championed by Big Labor that requires federal contractor’s to give employees at least 60 days notice of potential large-scale layoffs. That means that if there is no resolution by October of the fiscal cliff sequester that Dem economic terrorists are threatening to push the American economy over, large defense contractors will be REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW to send out layoff notices to thousands, or tens, or hundreds of thousands of employees right before Election Day.

Labor secretary Broom-hilda Solis has tried to swoop in for the save. Just like she had leaned on the BLS to cook up some better than expected July jobs numbers as Barry’s birthday present, she has now had DOL issue “guidance” that when it comes to layoffs due to the sequester, companies don’t have to comply with that law because it is “uncertain” how the budget cuts will be implemented and the “possibility” that the sequester will be avoided by January 1. In other words, “The Barry admin f**ked this one up big time, so, never mind.”
As the WSJ correctly points out, she and USDOL have no legal authority to waive the requirements of this law. And any company that follows this “guidance” is wide open to all sorts of class action lawsuits from the Dem-loving tort trial lawyer vultures.
This has to be the first time ever that a Presidential campaign has unloaded an “October surprise” on itself!!!!!

It is seriously time to vote out every Republican and replace them with people who care about the country - not just winning elections. The Republican party has allowed the Tea Party fanatics to take over and it will very quickly destroy what is left of the once great party.

The Republik Party looks at this year's Congress as a total 100% success because they effectively shut down Congress. This is part of their game plan.

For the past 3 1/2 years, the Republican party has said "government doesn't create jobs." Yet with the combined effects of the elimination of the Bush tax cuts, the end of the "temporary" cut to the SS tax rate (which only effect those who make less than $110,000), the end of the child credit, the end of unemployment benefits, the reductions in defense spending, the reductions of other spending are expected to eliminate between 1.5 and 2 Million JOBS.
Maybe it is time to bite the bullet and let the economy solve itself. Get the politicians out of the business of screwing up the economy. Since Congress is unable to act or, in the case of the Republican Party, purposefully attempting to do everything they can to destroy the economy, if we take away the fiscal cans they have repeatedly refused to address, then the economy might just recover on its own. Since the recession was greater than any since the 1930's, it will take longer to recover, but at least we won't have to depend on DC anymore.
