Obama donates $5,000 to his own campaign

For months, President Barack Obama has urged his supporters to donate money to his campaign, warning that his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, will likely outpace him in fundraising. Now, for the first time this election cycle, Obama is putting some of his own money into his war chest.

On Tuesday, the Obama campaign released a YouTube video that shows the president donating $5,000 – the federal maximum allowed per person – to his campaign fund. The video opens with the president sitting at a computer, telling his supporters: “First of all, I think everybody should know that I really care about this campaign and I believe in what our administration is doing and I want to make sure that folks know I’m not just talking the talk, I’m walking the walk.”

He assures voters that the first lady is on board: “I have cleared this with Michelle; I want everybody to know.”

A YouTube video shows President Barack Obama donating to his own campaign for the first time. His Republican challenger Mitt Romney has fundraised more than him for the last two months.

But the issue of campaign finance is no laughing matter for team Obama (which includes the Obama Campaign, Obama Victory fund and the Democratic National Committee) which has been outpaced in fundraising for the past two months by team Romney (the Romney Campaign, the Republican National Committee and the Republican National Committee Victory Fund).

The Obama campaign remains on top, with nearly $100 million in its coffers, according to federal election data at opensecrets.org. The Romney campaign, by contrast, has slightly more than $20 million.

Still, Republican-leaning super PACs have trounced their Democratic counterparts when it comes to hauling in cash. By all accounts, the super PACs have tipped the overall fundraising scales in the Republicans’ direction.

It is not unusual for candidates to donate to their own campaign. According to Romney aides, he and his wife each donated $75,000 to the Romney re-election effort including the RNC and Romney Victory Fund in May.

But for Obama, this is a shift. In 2008, then-candidate Obama did not contribute to his campaign, according to an Obama for America official.

The best part??

Barrack took that $5000 from Moochelle's vacation fund.

Not to worry though. This is not scraping the bottom of the barrel for the Obama's.

To them, the barrel is never empty.

Time to ditch this disgusting, Kenyan dog-eater, and elect a REAL President for the next EIGHT YEARS.

Time for Mitt Romney, a REAL American.

RepublicansForObama - If you believe what Reid spewed today about Romney not paying taxes for 10 years then you're dumber than a fence post. Anyone with an ounce of brains does not take something at face value when the person saying it says he will not divulge the source yet gets on a national show and tells the lie to the country. In 2008 Romney submitted 23 years of tax returns to McCain for the VP vetting process. McCain has stated there were no irregularities in those returns. Pre-requisite for being a Democrat is to be a pathological liar. I wonder if Reid was giggling to himself when he dreamed up this lie. Just like Pelousy when she announced she had "dirt" on Romney several months ago - giggling and almost wetting her pants in excitement. We never heard anymore about it. May all their lies come back to bite them in their a**es.

The President talks of "walking the walk". Well I want the President to "walk the walk" concerning his promises regarding the economy. Without conditions, to include any action of congress, the President promised the nation that the 2012 federal deficit will not exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet his own White House is predicting a deficit of more than 1.3 trillion dollars. Because the federal government is already more than 15 trillion dollars in debt, I estimate that this more than 1 trillion dollars more than what the President promised that the federal government will have to borrow this year, will end up costing the tax payers more than 9 trillion dollars to repay over the next 170 years. Our President's $5,000 donation to his own campaign is not going to solve the problem. I want our President to "walk the walk" and explain how he is going to keep his promise regarding the 2012 federal deficit. I want the President to present a realistic plan for the federal government to get out of debt. The tax payers need to be told how much all this federal debt is going to end up costing them. So Mr. President, "lets walk the walk" on the economy. All hail the Chief!

I have money deducted from my checking acct. every month for President Obama. Romney has the Koch Bros. and other job outsourcing modern day "robber barons" and blood sucking bankers that do not want to be regulated at any cost. I also wonder how much money the Mormon Church is extracting from its active members with extra missionary or temple erecting funds.....to channel funds to the "Romney Pig?"

Maybe you can educate us all---what felony,EXACTLY,has Obama been indicted for,let alone convicted of?

If ignorance, stupidity, classlessness and internet cowardice were crimes on the other hand you would be staring at life without the possibility of parole.

          Romney-crat Concession Song

(A political parody song written by Bruce-1628250, based on Elton John's song: Honky Cat)

          • When I look back, boy I was a fool!
          • Letting those Republicans use me as a tool.
          • Knowing from the start - I didn't stand a chance
          • Now I'm - all alone, like I piddled in my pants.
          • [Chorus]
          • I said get back Democrat
          • O-bama you beat me good!
          • Well I - quit those days and my flipflop ways
          • And, Ohhhhh! the change is gonna do me good!
          • You better, get back Democrat
          • Living in the White House isn't where it's at
          • It's like trying to find votes in my home state
          • It's like, being a homeless guy laying on a grate.
          • I read magazines, and I even read a book
          • So Katie Couric wouldn't give me that gotcha look!
          • But the folks back home, well, they said I was a Goof
          • They said: oh leave Mitt alone he's a Wif-N-Poof!
          • [Chorus]
          • I said get back Democrat
          • O-bama you beat me good!
          • Well I quit those days and my flipflop ways
          • And, Ohhhhh! the change is gonna do me good!
          • [Chorus]
          • I said get back Democrat
          • O-bama you beat me good!
          • Well I quit those days and my flipflop ways
          • And, Ohhhhh! the change is gonna do me good!
          • Now I'm out of politics, trying to find my place
          • Guess I'll take my dancing horse and put him in a race!
          • Can I hide from the public, when my heart says no
          • How can I hide with the size of my ego.
          • You better get back Democrat
          • I still wanna to be where Obama's at!
          • Even if it takes making the Big Fippee
          • And it ain't no biggie if I flip from "R" to "D"
          • You better get back Democrat
          • Living here in Utah isn't where it's at
          • A house with no elevator for Ann's Cadillacs
          • Just as tough as getting' votes from browns and blacks!
          • Get back Democrat, get back Democrat, get back...

            What a cheap bastard.

He donates almost nothing to charity anyway, about 1/10th of 1% of his estimated income.

And he is such a gutless, spineless turd of a man he had to ask mama for permission to donate to his own presidential campaign.

Yet another reason to vote for Romney.

Looks like Obama, the nutcase is getting desperate. Sorry loser but that wouldn't cover the fuel for one of your mini vacations. Looks like you are going to have to get a real job and have to actually work. You are on your way out. Amen

He could do like a Republican and just give a ton more to a super fund that happens to support him. He could do so under an assumed name or in his wife's name and that'd be okay. Contribution of 20 thousand dollars from Bo Obama, chipping in another 10K each from Malia and Sasha under the names of Smith and Jones and Michell and her mom can each pitch in under Cagney and Lacy. Just like the Republicans. Just not to the campaign directly, no, no.
