DES MOINES, Iowa -- Add another top Republican to the growing category of supporters who want Sen. Marco Rubio as vice president: Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad.
"Well, Marco Rubio sounds pretty good to me," Gov. Branstad told NBC News following a Mitt RomneyVictory event on the steps of the state house here when asked who he would suggest to Romney to be VP. "There are a number of others that I think are very talented, but Marco Rubio, I think, tells it very much like it is, he is somebody who has come up the hard way and has showed great leadership and he is now one of the great young senators from the state of Florida -- an important and key state -- so he is certainly one I would like to see considered."
Rubio, the freshman senator from the Sunshine State, was scheduled to address the crowd in the Hawkeye State Saturday night but was forced to cancel after his plane taking him from Nevada to Iowa made an emergency landing for mechanical issues.
"This is not the way I had hoped to do it," Rubio told the rain-soaked crowd via cellphone over a loud speaker. "I have had 2 planes today have mechanical problems and the last one forced us to land here in Albuquerque, New Mexico, so I know how to take a hint."
As speculation continues to swirl as to who the presumptive GOP nominee will choose to be his No. 2 -- especially after the whirlwind tour of top surrogates around the country this weekend -- Rubio's name has been mentioned more and more.
Rubio's plane makes safe emergency landing
In recent days, many top GOP leaders including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and Republican strategist Karl Rovehave publicly thrown their support behind Rubio. And Saturday night, Branstad made the case for the Florida senator as well.
"I have always been a risk taker -- I have never been afraid to do what I think is the right thing to do and I just think that Gov. Romney needs to choose the candidate who he thinks will be the greatest asset to the ticket," the fifth term Iowa governor said. "Somebody who will complement and support him and help us rebuild the American dream and I think Marco Rubio is certainly one of the people that should be considered, but there are many other talented people out there too."
While Saturday's event didn't occur as planned (and originally, Rubio was going to attend an event in Colorado this evening until that was canceled due to the Aurora tragedy last week), Rubio did give brief remarks to the crowd in the battleground state, and said, "I promise you, I will come back."
And, not all Iowans in attendance were disappointed.
"I think it's a testament to the enthusiasm that the Republicans have this year that so many people turned out even in the rain," John Lepley of Des Moines said after the event concluded. "It showed that people are enthusiastic and fired up. Sen. Rubio gave a great speech which we were able to hear on the telephone line. It worked out fine."

Isn't there all kinds of voter suppression going on in the Sunshine State? What's Rubio doing about it? Has he addressed it?
Yup, rubio agrees with Rick Scott, which of course voter is nonexistent. A local pol down here said that, well maybe there isn't any documented cases, however we just have to be prepared for the future. What bs premptive strike on the most vulnerable voters, old, young, minorities.
Well, to put this in Pawlenty beer-foam speak:
Mitts and Marco, sitting in a tree;
k-i-s-s-i-n-g
First comes love, then comes marriage;
Then comes baby in a baby carriage.
turner, so Rubio agrees with Rick Scott? I didn't know that. And he is our potential VP nominee? Well, leave it to Romney to look the way other. Not surprising.
@Pat - what would be more interesting to understand whether or not Floridians like him. I can't find any type of poll or articles on the subject. All I know about him is he is a Tea Party darling, so I would be curious if Floridians have buyers remorse like so many other voters have with their Tea Party extremists.
One thing seems sure, since Floridians seem to loathe Rick Scott, it would make sense they would also loathe his lap dog Marco.
Romney and this kid they call Rubio care about one thing, power to push the button for their 1% buddies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its already rumored the GOP may chose Jeb Bush at the GOP convention.. NOT ROMNEY ...His limited knowledge about everything is scaring the GOP members off .His inability to connect with anyone on any level is apparent ..The biggest problem is the money invested in Mitt so far has been wasted. Not to mention the Mob connections with Vegas and Macau..What exactly is China buying ?..Another big problem is with the "Family Values" people they just don't believe a word Mitt or his wife says ! The cult thing scares them .
"W" is the guy that got us into this mess, don't give the keys back to the family that destroyed our Country. PS Jeb is a Jerk, don't Bushwack America again !!!!!!!!!!
Jeb is even more dangerous than his idiot brother. I think the stink of anything Bush would be enough to keep them from trying it, this time.
The funny thing about rumors is that they can be started by anyone and have zero basis in reality.
100 days and our national nightmare is over!
Romney/Rubio 2012
Patriotic, GW Bush did not get us into this mess. Let me state that it was Barney Frank and the Housing Bubble. Nobody listened to GW when he said there was a problem. By then, it was too late. The Housing Bubble happened. You can thank your democrat elected officials to let people buy houses that couldn't afford to pay them back. Obama keeps saying we are improving, not until construction picks up. It affects manufacturing, retail, and remodeling.
Please don't confuse the little libs with facts sham ... they have their talking points straight from Axelrod and they have been served their kool-aid for the day
sham - please be accurate.
It was deregulation processes initiated by President Reagan that started this freight train of a disaster. It was his stated belief that businesses could better profit if there were fewer regulations hindering their activities AND that they would "self-regulate." When this happened, then more jobs would be created and America would prosper.
We saw what happened. Mortgage brokers lied and unethically profited. Banks lied and unethically profited. The people and organizations associated the sale of bundled "investments" lied and unethically profited. And guess what - these same liars were providing the lobbying and "technical expertise" to help evaluate and suggest programs to Congress and the President. This is where the housing bubble came from.
President G. W. Bush's contribution to this mess was the reduction of revenue coming into the federal treasury while dramatically increasing the expenditures. And while this might be logical IF the expenditures were associated with investments (such as infrastructure) they were not.
It's also interesting to see that President G. W. Bush OPPOSED housing reform. Read his comments on the House bill H.R. 1461 Federal Housing Finance Reform Act of 2005. It parallels the Senates version that never made it out of committee controlled by Republicans (11 Republicans to 9 Democrats). Long story short, he opposed it because he believed it weakened regulatory oversight and would lessen the core mission to assist low income people get homes.
President Bush's statement can be found @ http: //www. presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=24851 .
President Bush repeated his opposition of this bill when it was re-presented as H.R. 1427 - Federal Housing Finance Reform Act of 2007. His statement can be found @ http: //www .presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=74353
Rubio is the male equivalent of Sarah Palin.
The guy is totally brainless.
Anyone who wants this guy anywhere near to the line to the presidency needs their head examined.
.
"Brockton Barlow
100 days and our national nightmare is over!" If, in that one hundred days Romney is elected..the nightmare will have just begun for all citizens. A republican placed us in the mess we are in today...the republicans in congress have done all possible to make it worst for all citizens..except their wealthy friends and donors. The tea party group was elected to get jobs..at least that was their talking point..now...someone tell me just how many job bills have actually been brought up by any republican that did not include a tax cut for the wealthy ? It seems that the trickle down economics that Bush and his republican counter parts talked about never came about...the only trickle was up, to the wealthy..nothing to the working middle class. The only jobs went to other country's..outsourcing..thank you Romney for your help in that one. And also consider that those same outsourcers got tax breaks for taking those jobs elsewhere. Also consider, the republicans blocked having that stopped.
Bush and the Republicans fault, huh? Read this and then let's here what you Dems and libs have to say. Probably all you will do is hurl insults and vile comments because YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH.
The day the democrats
took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day
the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the
very start of the 110th Congress.
The Democrat Party
controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the
103rd Congress in 1995.For those who are
listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is
"Bush's Fault", think about this:
January 3rd, 2007 was
the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress.
At the time:
The GDP for the
previous quarter was 3.5%
The Unemployment rate
was 4.6%George Bush's Economic
policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTHRemember the day...
January 3rd, 2007 was
the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and
Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown
that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL
SERVICES!
Unemployment... To
this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic
loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!
Bush asked Congress 17
TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was
financially risky for the US economy.
And who took the THIRD
highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA
And who fought against
reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democrat
CongressSo when someone tries
to blame Bush.
REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd,
2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"
Budgets do not come
from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled
Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.Furthermore, the
Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010
& 2011.
In that first year,
they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on
spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For 2009 though, Nancy
Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing
resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At
that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009
budgets.And where was Barack
Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all
of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to
complete 2009.
If the Democrats
inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican
budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight
decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of
spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited
anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is
I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit
four-fold since January 20th.
So, what say you now? Nothing? I thought so. And, quite frankly, I don't care what you have to say about it, but hopefully the indepents and the undecides will read this and think about all that is wrong now and vote differently in 2012.
Isn't it funny that what the libs call voter suppression is an attempt to prevent DEAD people and ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS who have NO RIGHT to vote, from voting? How many people do not have photo ID's these days? They need them for their gov't benes, and to buy booze, cigarettes, and for lots of other reasons. Can you say, LIARS?
Reagan and failed GOP/Bush era polices have been destructive to the middle class for the last 30-40 years. Aside from voodoo economics of "taxes pay for themselves" (riiight), "trickle-down" tax cuts fro the rich (AKA the "job creators" - not), deregulation that allows too big to fail... The off-shoring, turning a blind eye to illegal labor, union busting, wanting to end the minimum wage, etc., etc. has destroyed our middle class.
Add to that the failed policies during Dubya and "deficits don't matter" tax cuts only for the rich and during time of war (unpaid wars not in the budget) and deregulation that allowed Wall Street and the Banksters to go wild--again, our country suffered a Lost Decade that will affect an entire generation for the rest of their lives. It is permanent damage and any rightwinger who tries to spin otherwise is a complete moron.
Throw the Teapublicans out. The GOP/Romney aren't in it for you.
J.C.-1016889- While everything you say is true, don't expect the democrats to accept it-they have had their heads filled with so many lies and mistruths they have no more room for factual truths. Also, have you noticed all the one liners? Goes to show they get their talking points from a script.
Agreed Barabara, but I hope the independents will think it through and get rid of the anti-American.
From Barbara -1012158:
From J.C.-1016889:
lol Ms. Kettle, meet Mr. Black. Can you see how hypocrisy = republican speak? Oh well...it's cute to watch.
I live in Florida and both Scott and Rubio were washed up in the tea party wave. Scott is about as popular as a turd in a punch bowl and Rubio has lots of baggage but that has never stopped Republicans in the past - who knows. Florida is a crazy place.
Only a hapless TeaWhiner like J.C. would believe that purging action is truly necessary in order to prevent DEAD people from voting. Snicker! Guffaw!!
Hey Harry?
What's shakin? lol
Just can't help yourself can ya?
tick...tock...
United States:
"Rubio is the male equivalent of Sarah Palin.
The guy is totally brainless.
Anyone who wants this guy anywhere near to the line to the presidency needs their head examined."
SERIOUSLY!!!!! You think ole Joe is competent???? You're the one who needs their head examined!
TruePatriot, you have to be kidding me. Reagan had turned around the economy. Obama has failed because he has not led by the Reagan example. Romney has said that he would use Reagan's example and reduce rates. When you reduce rates, you have more money to spend in the economy. I don't care what you call it. We spend our money better than the government can. I can't wait til you democrats wake up, when Medicare is spent, Social Security bankrupt, Obamacare sucking all the life out of our economy and creating another Housing nightmare with the 3.8% tax on the sale of our homes. Would do you think that will do for the U S Citizens?
Him again, eh? Round and round it goes, where it stops nobody knows. Who wants to be the sacrificial lamb at the altar? LMAO.
Is Marco the flip or the flop VP choice. With Mitts, it's hard to tell. Poor Bob McVaginaProberDonnell must be drowning in his tears.
Inside the republican brain:
- Ok so the cute chick didn't work...lets try the brown guy
Funny, Rubio has LESS experience than Obama did and they RAILED against that...but is anyone really surprised with republican hypocrisy.
Do you want a TeaTard leech like rubio running this Country if something happens to the Clown Willard ??????????????????????????????
Absolutely! Compared to Biden who is the worst moron ever to go to Washington, Rubio would be outstanding.
Rubio spouts Cuba before America, This Kid will draw flies to Romney !!!!!!!!!
I don't care who Willard picks because the GOP is going to dump Romney at the convention !!!!!
Mitt is a loser and the GOP knows it, your Clown is finish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frankly, I don't care if it's Rubio or anyone else. I just miss the good old days of the primary, when any of the goofy 10 would say something stupid each week. Mitt won the primary cause he didn't say anything AND he spent the most money (and hence, able to stay in the longest). He doesn't really say anything now either. So it'll be fun again to have another wacky
goofgop spouting out more than just silly hyperbole statements like Mitt, does.Larry Robinson-1323081
Just remember.... McCain picked Sarah PALIN over Mitt Romney in 2008. Think About that.
and only after his many years of tax returns were reviewed by McLame's expert vetting staff.
President Obama Up In Florida, June, 2012
PPP's newest Florida poll finds little change in the state compared to mid-April. At that time Barack Obama led Mitt Romney 50-45 there, and now his advantage is 50-46. Voters in the state narrowly approve of Obama, 49/46, and continue to dislike Romney, giving him a 39/53 favorability rating.
Obama's strength is based on what's become a pretty predictable set of groups. He's up 57-39 with women, 61-36 with Hispanics, 93-7 with African Americans, and 65-27 with voters under 30. Romney's up 52-46 with seniors and 55-41 with whites but he'd need larger advantages with those demographics to be ahead overall.
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2012/06/obama-up-in-florida.html
For someone who claims she doesn't put any stock in polls, Pat, you sure post an awful lot of meaningless poll results.
Pat, that's why the repugs. want voter id's. Disenfranchise the old, young and minority groups who normally vote Democratic. Its all bs, there is no voter fraud.
Obama 2012
White Collar Auto, 2 - I've posted exactly 2 polls, not an awful lot
And no, I don't really have much faith in polls for some reason. But I think they're pretty accurate historically. I tend to ignore them for the most part though.
I posted these because there are people here who actually are interested in polls.
turner, we in the Democratic Party can see clearly what's going on. It is without a doubt a slap in the face to our democracy and it shows you how little respect the GOP actually have for the voters.
[For someone who claims she doesn't put any stock in polls, Pat, you sure post an awful lot of meaningless poll results.]
Aww, isn't that cute...WCA filling Spanky's slippers by picking on the women. You must be oh so proud of yourself. At least you've developed some courage and ventured out from behind Spanky's skirt.
Funny how we don't see you defending your "presumptive" candidate for the presidency.
Huh...now why would that be...maybe because you know Romney's a losing horse right out of the gate? Or maybe there is just no defending the indefensible?
Sure, that's it...
And you never did answer that age-old question on how YOU personally benefited from the auto bailouts...well, that's perfectly ok WCA...if I were caught lying about it, I wouldn't admit it either. But you're a pro at this, right?
Sure you are...
Pat, I going to work hard with the local Democratic office here in Fort Myers to get people properly registerd so that they won't loose their rights. I'll drive them anywhere they need to go for the id, I'll make sure they have the proper documents. The republican party is not going to steal this election like they did with Gore. It is every citizens right to vote, period.
mickey, you make too much noise and that signifies nothing. Ignorant fox howler.
Obama 2012
Not that this means anything...haha
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2012/05/obama-leads-romney-by-10-in-iowa.html
Obama up 10 over Romney in Iowa
PPP's first general election poll of Iowa since last October really exemplifies how the Republican nomination process enhanced Barack Obama's chances at reelection. Last fall Obama led Romney only 46-42 there but now his lead is up to 10 points at 51-41, matching his 2008 margin of victory in the state.
Glad to hear that turner. Good for you!
OFA is going some wonderful work as well to GOTV. We need all democrats on board to ensure we all have our president's back, AND maintain our democracy.
White Collar,
Are you going to answer Mickey? Did YOU personally benefit from the auto bail out? The bail out that was Romney's idea? (so he said).
@Pat - this is a more recent poll. Oddly, it says that Obama's lead (as claimed in the May 2012 poll you cited) has fallen - but I couldn't find any actually polling data for Obama/Romney within this more recent July poll.
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2012/07/tough-month-for-dems-in-iowa.html#more
@Turner - you may have misunderstood Mickey.
RedDev, I know. These polls are all over the place. I take little stock in them until October rolls around. That's when things begin to really shape up.
Come on Obama!!!!!!
Pat, that question was answered a long time ago, actually in a converstation I had with Yellowdog Mark, one of the few here I can have a discussion with. Not my problem if your girl Mickey missed it.I have posted at length here about the Auto Bailouts and Romney's position.
Mickey's a one trick pony. She mimics everything your pal Feaisty says and tries to act like she is really tough. Not an original thought in her body.
Everyone here knows she has no game at all.
But she is very amusing.
BTW Pat. How old are you? Are you on Medicaid? Medicare? Get any welfare checks?
How have Obama's generous ways helped you? Have any of his policies put money in your wallet?
Care to share with me where you work? How long you have been there. What you do?
Now do you see how stupid questions like your gal pals sound?
White Collar, it's been a really pleasant evening on First Read tonite. Other than that communist manifesto guy, an interesting set of conversations all around. Which is what I like about this site. Many well informed and likeable supportive people here who care about our democracy deeply.
Can't believe I've been hanging around here for 6 years! I took a few breaks and hung out on the baseball and football sites for a while and got the **** kicked out of me. Sports fans are much tougher than political ones. Especially the football fans. Yikes. LoL.
Pat, any time you want to talk football, let me know. phine and I have had many great talks about the SEC and the Big 10.
Have a good night.
You too WCA.
"Rubio should go back to Cuba"
And Mitt back to Mexico.
For someone who claims to have a wife & children... interesting you spend a beautiful summer Saturday night on an anonymous message board, spreading your own special brand of manure!
Safe to assume, you didn't get any last night! lol
You really should wait until your little bud SpankMe returns, you're lost without him... ;o)
Never ever trust Rubio, Blunt-Rubio Bill, lied about immegration status and subject of credit card irregularities with the Fl. repug. party. Being of Cuban descent he arrogantly believes he's got an in with Latinos, wrong. Rubio, lock-step trooper for the party of no.
Obama 2012
R-money / R-unethical, great GOP Team - for me to poop on.
If Rubio becomes the VP pick, it will only be to win a larger segment of the Latino vote. I hope they can see through the reasoning behind having Rubio on the ticket and that it won't benefit the Latinos in any way to have him as the VP. And why on earth would seniors be in favor of Romney as President when he has made it clear that Social Security and Medicare will be seriously impacted or entirely gone if he is elected.
Sorry, Rubio will capture zero Latin Voters - about as much as Rmoney. Pre-Castro Cuban Americans are not considered part of the Hispanic struggle for representation in the U.S..
Rubio is about as Latino as Bjorn Borg. His Hispanic constituency is limited to a dwindling community of Cuban expatriates in a single state, Florida, and even then to only parts of Miami.
He would be a total waste to Romney in terms of political calculus, but that's precisely why Romney may strongly consider him. You see, Mitt believes that Vice-Presidents don't really matter, and after being slighted by McCain in favor of Palin in 2008, he'll treat his own pick as a toadie. Come to think of it, who DOESN'T Mitt treat like a toadie, other than his Stepford wife?
This little Latino kid would destroy this Country, can you just see this kid behind the "N" Button ???
And still not tax returns from Romney. I can not wait until we find out his nasty secrets.
Rubio isn't THAT stupid, is he, to sign on with Mitt? If he's smart he'll wait and attempt to run behind Christie against Hillary in 2016. Unfortunately, anyone running "behind" Christie will never be seen again!
Romney will lose in November, and whoever runs with him will have the same fate as Sister Sarah, totally rejected by the Republican Party within a few short years....prohibited even from speaking at the upcoming convention.
Romney is, in essence, a leper waiting to die, and Rubio will be one of the last limbs to fall from Romney's rotting political corpse.
Hillary v. Christie in 2016. Makes 2012 look tame in comparison.
Yeah,...if the GOP could put a hispanic VP on the ticket,...that might cause a certain (calculated) percentage of poorly informed hispanics to vote for Mitt Romney.
That's the ticket,...that's the plan.
The GOP KNOWS they have a huge problem with the large hispanic population. This would be a purely strategic move.
The GOP does not have hispanic interests in mind. Look closer.
If its Hillary v. Christie, then I predict Hillary wins easily.
Just about everybody appreciates the work she has done in the Obama Administration. Christie on the other hand will be seen as a big mouthed jerk, which he is.
Pat ~
I believe that Hillary will win over Christie if, and only if, the economy improves enough under Obama in his second term so as not to be the driving election issue in 2016. If it does not, Independents will swing to the right if only to force a course change. Frankly, I wouldn't blame them, although Hillary would be a most deserving candidate.
A lot of badmouthing on Rubio. Must have some people nervous to get this much attention ! As an independant, I would just like to see someone that will work towards uniting this country & treat all Americans equally regardless. Hope this country will heal after this election & move forward to serving its hardworking taxpayers so they can focus on something better for the future.
There will be no future if the TeaConPuds get back in, you can kiss this Country good bye !!!
you have it backwards nonpatriotic american
we have to get rid of the totalitarian fascist in the White House if there is any chance to save our country
and we haven't had a Tea Party president since Madison
As far as I can see, the Tea Party is nothing more than a bunch of right wing religious hypocrites. America needs a fiscal conservative who recognizes that we have rights vain, petty hypocrites have no dominion over.
You aren't going to get anything resembling equality when the republican party has been hijacked by religious hypocrites and the democrats ideas of equality mean we all owe our souls to the government.
People should look at Braindead when considering his endorsement. When he was the governor before, he used his office to make sure his son Eric never got charged with manslaughter after he killed two people driving drunk. Now the more corrupt republicans say he wasn't drunk and that reckless driving at the time wasn't grounds for a manslaughter charge, but the truth is, law enforcement never tested him for alcohol or drug use and couldn't explain why since it would have standard procedure.
Now that he's back as Farm Bureaus prostitute, he's went out of his way to serve the wealthiest people in the state, funnel even more money to wealthy republican farmers while doing all he can to strip worker rights. He's constantly told Iowans we need to make sacrifices while the Iowa Republican, tried to prevent the DNR from buying land his farmer buddies want, even started making a list of public lands his farmer buddies want to buy. The man is the most corrupt lying hypocrite Iowa has seen republican or democrat.
He supports drunks for political office while telling a dying cancer patient he can't smoke a joint. Well, he didn;t actually tell him, because the coward refused to meet with patients at a hospice center to explain his position, probably because he was too drunk himself. The man is nothing but scum, and if he endorses someone, they must be scum themselves.
Yet another Republican who seems to want Obama to win reelection in November. That's the only reason I can come up with that he would push an ineligible candidate for the GOP presidential ticket.
Rubio was born in Miami so he's a 14th Amendment (naturalized) citizen but his parents were not U.S. citizens when he was born so he is not a natural born citizen as required by the Constitution.
I KNOW that Rubio (and Bobby Jindal) are aware of this problem yet neither will say anything (which, of course, would put Obama's presidency in jeopardy).
So Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal and Terry Branstad all want Obama in the Oval Office again. . .WHY??
I still believe the birth certificate for Obama has to be fake, because I am pretty sure his name was Barry when he was born.
Mitt will not choose Sen. Marco Rubio. And Mitt will not choose Sen. Kelly Ayotte, Gov. Chris Christie, Gov. Bobby Jindal, Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Sen. Rob Portman, Rep. Paul Ryan, or Sen. John Thune.
You want to bet TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ON THAT!
As a republican I still won't vote for pair. Tweetle dumb and flip flop romney. They would make a good pair for flipping and lying. After this election season I cant see how anybody could vote for Romney. With bain and his taxes he is a joke to the republican party. What were they thinking last year when the GOP cooked this one up. You can say all you want that Romney won by the vote of the people. No this election was swayed by the MSM. This is what they wanted. Most People over 50 only listen to the stations that make your brain dumb. If they can make a law that says super pacs should be allowed. Then they should make a law that requires MSM to ban politics on TV. I always tell people read the independent news online. You never get the real stories on MSNBC, FOXNEWS, and CNN. They are all funded by corporations who give to these super pacs. They tell what to say about certain candidates even if its a lie. MSM distorts the truth to sway elections. I hate Obama but Romney using the line, "you didn't build that". That was terrible of Romney to cut that out of speech. I had to listen to it just to see if Obama really did say that. Romney took a snippet of a speech and tried to use it to his advantage. I am shocked of the GOP for allowing a goof ball like Romney to run for president. He is worse than McCain.
Hey Frank! Seriously, give CSpan and PBS a try. Also, if you get any of the Canadian stations, CBUT and CBC News, try them too, they cover US politics in a very different light.
I will be voting against Hussein Obama. This fool must go.
So your a voter who has the idea that voting against someone because they must go. Have you thought what Romney is going to do when he gets in. The last 2 presidents were bad. Romney's idea of change is nothing. This whole election isn't about differences in ideology. Except abortion (which Romney was for until he decided to run for president), and gay marriage. Romney from what I have seen so far hasn't given me anything to cheer about. Cutting taxes for the wealthy won't get the middle class or poor to the booth to vote for him. Last time I checked there are a lot more poor and middle class than rich. I don't see Romney winning Michigan, Ohio, or Pennsylvania. He needs at least 2 of those states to even think about winning. I have decided this year for the first in 20 years I am not voting Republican. The GOP has truly gone down hill from the Reagan days. Bush really disappointed me with his war mongering ways. I will be giving my vote to Gary Johnson. You can say its a wasted vote. At least I voted for someone close to my beliefs. The republicans are nothing but neocons who promote more military spending and saving money for the rich. I think the younger generation have woken up to. The two party approach isn't working anymore.
Sorry Tony, but YOU DO NOT have a Valid Government Issued Photo I.D. You will NOT be allowed to vote.
Barack Hussein Obama, "NIGHTMARE ON PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE".
Willard Mitt Romney, "NIGHTMARE ON WALL STREET".
Rubio? Isn't he the guy who charged $100,000 of personal stuff on a GOP charge card?
Of course, that means he'll fit right in with the rest of the crooks...
Chris Christie, "NIGHTMARE IN THE PANTRY".
Mitt Romney has not been nominated yet and may not be nominated due to his extremely poor "world learning tour"! What imbecil wants to be on his losing ticket anyway?
Governor Bob McDonnell of Virginia, "NIGHTMARE IN HER VAGINA!"
Surprising, a right-wing CLOWN endorsing a right-wing CLOWN.

That's a good one Joe!!! Kudos!
Yes sir while his lap dogs Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Rob Portman, Gov. Bobby Jindal and Gov. Tim Pawlenty are here in the States telling you how wonderful Mitt is, he is overseas in private secret funds raising meetings in London with the Libor banksters and now in Israeli with the very people and banks that want to do this to America.

Different message behind closed doors? Team Romney breaks protocol and bans press from Israeli fundraiser.

If Romney wins we are literally handing over our country on a silver platter, to the top 1% and big banks that wants to do to America what they did to the rest of the world
runmarie,,private secret funds? Anything like the "stimulas slush campaign funds king obama got from all those 4 million per "green" tempory job "saved or created" from the liar in chief's bunglers? Behind closed doors? While this puke of a president has done everything behind closed doors and talked out the other side of his mouth about having the most "tranparent" administration, that is a joke! The only "transparency" obama has is leaking America's security for a vote or headline! When Romney wins (by 10% or more), and we fire even more socialist lib democratic MOOCHERS then in 2010 we can get back under that 8%(obama phoney numbers) unemployment, $4 a gallon gas, GDP higher then the lowest point ever( including the great depression), our nations credit rating restored and some real hope and change from the obamataxcare every citizen will will be dumped on! Except the ones that pushed for the obamataxcare the most and ended up to be the same ones that got king obama's "exception rule" to it!
Do you actually yell at your computer monitor while you're typing?
It's just an image I can't seem to shake as I wade through your comments, trying to find some spark of intellect.
And are you wearing a camouflaged baseball cap?
That would be an excellent ticket! Romney, who has absolutely no conviction about anything, and Rubio who lied about his back ground (remember those parents "escaping" Cuba years before Castro?). The Republicans have to be nuts to go with a ticket like that. But, I suppose it doesn't really matter, as their plans offer nothing to the average American.
