Congress: Irresponsible

Bachmann at it again…. “Rep. Michele Bachmann has made fresh allegations of ties between a global Islamist movement and the country's first Muslim congressman, even as Bachmann's fellow Republicans condemned her statements,” USA Today writes. “Bachmann offered no evidence of ties between Ellison and the Muslim Brotherhood during the Beck interview. Bachmann's spokesman, Dan Kotman, cited a 2009 Fox News report that Ellison had a trip paid for by the Muslim American Society, a group described by an expert quoted in that report as "the de facto arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S."

The group, which is not listed among the State Department's foreign terrorist organizations, has been influential in the Arab world since the 1920s when it was founded to combat British colonial rule in Egypt.”

Political Wire: “Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) crossed party lines and gave a $250 contribution to Sen. Joe Manchin's (D-WV) re-election campaign ‘because he believes Manchin is not beholden to short-sighted political interests,’ The Hill reports. “Said Coburn: ‘I think he votes thinking about the long-term interests of the country. We don't agree on everything but he's a good guy.’”

Give me a break! Coburn contributed to Manchin's campaign because they are both members of ALEC.

ALEC, yes let's be specific about who's irresponsible. It's not Congress, rather it's one particular Party -- The GOP/TP. The most recent example is the Teapublicans voting against the Bring Jobs Home Act. Seriously?!

And within the GOP/TP, there are extremists like Michele Bachmann and others (Alan Keyes) who need to be punished (Bachmann striped of her Intelligence Committee position, and the rest censured) -- not just lip service from Party leaders. Unfortunately, there is no leadership in the Teapublican Party including their pathetic candidate Romney. Heck, where's the media and questions about where Romney stood on the Bring Jobs Home Act, and why he FAILED to lead his Party in support of it?

The Weeper of the House is probably going from his golf game to his tanning appointment then on to Happy Hour. These jagoffs are worse than worthless, they are dragging the entire nation down with them.

Time for the House of Representatives to bring the hammer down on Bat-S&^% Crazy Bachmann. The woman, and I use that term to describe her with regret, is a embarrassment to our country and the House of Representative should vote to have her removed from her office while she undergoes a psychiatric examination. If she is proven to actually be crazy, then the House can remove her for physical limitation reasons. If she is found to be sane, then the House should reprimand her for the slanderous attacks she has unleashed upon Muslim Americans who are serving heroically in our government.

Don't expect any form of accountability from the current House leadership.

Just for fun,why don't you good people who are so outraged at the "slanderous" attacks on the gentle peace loving muslims of the Muslim American Society, google "Muslim American Society links to terror", read some about the known terrorist the organization is documented to have supported, during their terrorist careers, then see if YOU still want to offer them Your oh so righteous moral support, while at the same time slandering a Congresswoman who is trying to protect You, (You might even end up wanting to ask Congressman Ellison Yourself Why in the World HE would take money from such an organization).

J.D.Still - Thanks for the hint. I just did. So, tell me, was I supposed to find any information from any respectable journalistic source or should I just take the word of every conspiracy theorist like Steven Emerson at face value?

You're kidding, right? Please tell me that people aren't actually listening to Congresswoman Bachmann and taking her seriously.

First it was lesbians, now it is Muslims. This freakazoid of a woman (a term used loosely) needs to find a missile silo, climb in, and stay hidden from all the boogeymen out to get her. And to think there are actually people who wanted this freak for president.

Instead of admitting she overstepped, or at least shutting her mouth, Bachmann doubles down on stupid. She's an embarrassment.

Sponsors need to leave Glenn Beck for this the same way as happened to Limbaugh. Beck is an accomplice, and Frank Gaffney is the originator of this new McCarthyism. Let's get a list of Beck's sponsors to boycott, and contact your representatives and demand serious reprimand for Bachmann. She's been cruising for a bruising long enough, and has crossed the line big time on this one.

If Boehner, et al, fail to respond in a more serious way, it's all the more reason to throw the Teapublicans out -- Enough!

First it was the war against Blacks (Jim Crow). Then the war on Jews, then the war on Communism, now it is the war on Islam. the brotherhood isn't a terrorists organization. Islam is not illegal to practice. These same people who spit this venomous and irrational hatred against Muslims are the same ones who would do the same (and history shows) against Blacks.

The Excuse for representation in Minnesota, a running toilet without a lid, has placed herself & her Party deeper into the dumpster than ever before . I am surprised that the Alaskan version of her has not rushed to her defense...but being clueless I suppose I suppose she hasn't heard the news yet .

Bachmann and West eventually will cause the deaths of some innocent persons. There "big lie" comments are a danger to us all. Some crazy out there might just go on a rampage, egged on by their wild statements, and the recent shooting in Colorado will be repeated. Just think of some nut attempting to kill the" 80 democrats who are members of the communist party." This is dangerous stuff. The GOP has to watch out for the zealots.

It gets her attention, that's all she's after. When ever she gets irrelavant and no one's talking about her she comes up with some crazy conspiracy theory. And the media keeps falling for it.

Funny, the people of Murfreesboro, TN said the same things about Catholics when they tried to ban them as a nonreligion. Bachmann doesn't even deserve comment. She needs meds and probably should be darted!

The really sad thing is that her district will probably re-elect her. Bachmann is the voice of the most racist and unAmerican segment of our population. Too bad enough of them live in one place to vote her butt into Congress again. I have no doubt she will retain her seat.
