Romney: Let's talk about something else, OK?

Trying to change the subject from talking about Romney’s business record or whether he should release more years of tax returns, the campaign this morning released a new ad this morning asking where all the stimulus money went and charges cronyism. The campaign didn’t say where the ad will be running. The script: “Where Did All The Obama Stimulus Money Go? “Friends, Donors, Campaign Supporters, Special Interest Groups. Where did the Obama stimulus money go? Solyndra. 500 million taxpayer dollars. Bankrupt. So where did the Obama stimulus money go? Windmills from China. Electric cars from Finland. Democrat Senator Charles Schumer: ‘79 percent of the 2.1 Billion in stimulus grants awarded through it went to overseas companies.’”

FactCheck.org wrote in 2010: “[T]he nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a report in August that said the stimulus bill has ‘[l]owered the unemployment rate by between 0.7 percentage points and 1.8 percentage points" and "[i]ncreased the number of people employed by between 1.4 million and 3.3 million.’ Simply put, more people would be unemployed if not for the stimulus bill. The exact number of jobs created and saved is difficult to estimate, but nonpartisan economists say there’s no doubt that the number is positive.”

It also sent out an email highlighting all the stories written yesterday about Romney hitting Obama as being anti-business.

But, of course, Former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu stepped all over the message. Here’s First Read’s report.

AP: “The Republican presidential candidate is trying to move past questions about his own business career and personal finances.”

NBCNews.com’s Tom Curry: “Although the presidential campaign rhetoric in recent days has been dominated by “sending jobs overseas,” more than 5 million Americans do live and work overseas and some of them vote and contribute to candidates. Highlighting their importance, Mitt Romney will be appearing at fundraising events when he visits London and Jerusalem at the end of July.”

The Romney campaign is also out with an ad featuring Romney son Craig speaking Spanish. He says, notes that the U.S. is a immigrants and that his grandfather, George, was born in Mexico.

As the tea people Koch republicans would say. We don't need no stinking facts from the CBO, we've got our own lies. Folks when you're talking to a tea people Koch republican you in a facts free zone.

Desperation is rampant in the Romney camp.

You really have to wonder about the ineptitude of this years GOP presidential run. Did too much of the Tea Party fanaticism leach into the Republican party ? Or is it just that they have given up on really winning the Whitehouse this year, and are looking to rebuild and rebrand the party, launching the Tea Party as a useless by-product of a short term attempt to destroy America so they could pick up what's left ?

Why not talk about all the good things Romney stands for? Health-care for all in Massachusetts... Seems most people there like it... Or maybe Bain Capitol and the real story of what he knows about the business sector... "Take over a company, fire most employees, they lose their pensions, then sell the company for a profit to the share holder-YOU."

Or talk about how many years, while making millions, Romney paid ZERO TAXES... Thats enough to start with...

Yeah, when it gets hot, change the subject. OK, Mitt, you know the old saying, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

I'm sure he does want to change the subject, sorry Mitt, that dog just won't hunt. Better get used to it, cause until you release those returns proving you were where you said you were doing what you said you were doing we are not listening to your excuses.

Hey, Union Baby, Tennessee! I hope I don't change the subject too much, but I wanted to say that I have read and appreciate some of your posts.

Here, in central Florida, I sometimes feel like a lone voice in the wilderness (or swamps). Maybe that's why I like to read these comments. All the guys came over to my house last night and we had a long heated political debate until about 3:00 a.m. when the wife kicked them out. The thing is, they really believe all the cra---est right wing talking points (birther issue, Hillary being a secret member of the Muslim Brotherhood, death panels, etc., etc.). Where do they get this stuff? But, interesting to note, the only thing that I was able to get them to agree with me about was that Romney should release his tax returns. Oh, and that anonymous donations to political campaigns should not be allowed.

Now to change the subject. I got a dog from the pound a while back. Cute little puppy at the time; they said it was part beagle. I thought it might be good to keep armidillos and rabbits out of the garden. It's growing way too big to be a beagle, however, and at the last trip to the vet, I was told that it's probably a "cur" mix of some sort, and will likely top out at over a hundred pounds. It's scared of its own shadow, however, and so far it does not look like my dog will hunt. It's good with other dogs though, so when it gets a little older I think I'll get with the guys and let it run with their dogs on a hog hunt.

Umm.... looking forward to smoked hogback!

President Harry S. Truman said "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". Obviously Mr. Romney is sweating from all the heat in the kitchen. Willard only wants to talk about what HE wants to talk about and not what people want and need to know.

Mitt better get ready because he ain't seen nothin' yet.
