As to your question, lets see, schools are well funded with local taxes, not dependent on the state or the feds, 99% graduation rate, 96% go on to college. City government has a balanced budget. Taxes are reasonable. Terrific parks and recreation facilities. Diverse industrial and corporate presence to support well paying jobs. Crime rate is very low. Roads are well maintained, trash collected, and emergency services are tops. Great hospitals and medical support. Unemployment is well below the national average and elected officials are mostly Republican.

gov spending has risen under Obama, mostly because of the $800 billion stimulus designed to offset the massive recession Obama inherited from Bush. But the increase in federal spending under Obama is compared to the huge increase under Bush.

2008-2008: Federal spending rose by $1.3 trillion, from $1.9 trillion a year to $3.2 trillion a year.

Let's not forget that most of 2009 spending also belongs to Bush. 18% increase in spending in fiscal 2009 was mostly due to appropriations and policies that were already in place when Obama took office.

On Jan. 7, 2009, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office issued its regular budget outlook, stating: “CBO projects that the deficit this year (2009) will total $1.2 trillion.”

The bottom line is that Biden appeared before the NAACP and his speech was thoughtful and well-reasoned. Romney's speech, in contrast, was confrontational in tone and it proved Mitt is completely out of touch with minority voters, as his staggeringly boneheaded speech in June before a crowd of Latino activists confirms. By the constitution a person not born of American parents and not born in this country is ineligible to serve as president of this country and there was some question about Obama's citizenship. Being half Cherokee, I'm considered a minority, and if I chose to do so, I could move back to Oklahoma (where we were forced by gunpoint to move, but I guess that's a different story...), and have the government build me a house for next to nothing, have access to FREE medical care, and slip into alcoholism while enjoying that government cheese. Instead, I chose to follow in my Father's, and Grandfather's steps, and move away from an economically depressed area (read: move away from government hand-outs), and try to make it on my own. After serving in the military for three years, then going to college, I have done exactly that. Just like my Father before me, and his Father before him. My Grandfather realized a long time ago, that to receive a government handout is paramount to surrendering one's self to the whims of said government, which I personally feel makes you less of a person. I understand the needs of some to have a safety net provided by the government, but to depend on this for your livelyhood, generation after generation is idiotic. Not to mention demeaning. But that's exactly where the liberal politicians want the minorities to be, dependant on THEM to provide for our families. Well sir, I'm not buying it for a second.
