However, among Republicans, though some conservatives criticize the Bush administration for not doing more to curb government spending, polls show Mr. Bush remains broadly popular with the party base. That is why Mr. Romney and his campaign have faced a complicated task, saying little about the former president on the stump while quietly working to shore up support and contributions from the politically important Bush network.”
The Boston Globe: “Government documents filed by Mitt Romney and Bain Capital say Romney remained chief executive and chairman of the firm three years beyond the date he said he ceded control, even creating five new investment partnerships during that time. Romney has said he left Bain in 1999 to lead the winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, ending his role in the company. But public Securities and Exchange Commission documents filed later by Bain Capital state he remained the firm’s “sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president.””

As NBC’s Garrett Haake first reported on First Read: “Mitt Romney likely didn't win any votes at the national NAACP convention on Wednesday, but the African American atendees gave the presumptive GOP nominee credit nonetheless for trying.”

Of COURSE Romney never really let go of Bain, just like Cheney, who just endorsed him btw, never really let go of Halliburton...and neither of them walked away from long-term profits derived from those companies either.
Considering that huge amounts of the money going to Romney are tainted by the various scandals that are coming to light, the scandals that the corporations backing him are trying to spend their money to fight in the Presidential race. They back Romney in the hopes that if they win then that that nasty ol' regulations thing is not bother them, just like in the Bush years.
We all saw how well that went the last time, do we really need a repeat? We are still not done digging our way out of the last mess, but it would sure be easier if the Repubs/TPers were not so intent on keeping us in the hole, so to speak, just for their own political gain. They have intentionally kept the US from recovering at a greater pace, Intentionally blocked all of Obama's policies that they possibly could that would have helped us get out of the mess, that they made, quicker. They have hurt nearly ALL Americans, all except for those very few at the top, whom the Repub/TPers protect unconditionally.
Causing harm, intentionally, to hundreds of millions of Americans is Tyranny, an agreement to do so, such as the Luntz Agreement and the Anti-Tax Pledge of Norquist's, is Conspiracy to Commit Treason. The President and the Justice Department should move to arrest and prosecute those involved with this atrocity of Treason against the American Public.

Mitt Romney is promoting the SAME policies as George Bush did, only calling them by different names. They are one in the same, and Americans won't fall for that B.S.
We couldn't afford eight years of Bush/GOP policy, and we can't afford one minute of Romney/GOP policy.

The word idiot comes from the Greek, "idiotes" which roughly translates as a person in a totally private state,one without knowledge, or in other words an ignorant person, now, how would one qualify as an ignorant person ?,simply by lacking knowledge of a particular subject, so as I'm sure You know, We all lack knowledge on some issue at one time or another ,do we not?, but it is a situation that can be rectified by starting with an open, academically curious, mind, having a willingness to question, to go beyond ones preconceived notions and seek factual answers no matter where that investigation takes us and whether or not we like the answers we find there. I do think it is hilarious that Romney and his team _could— take pride in winning against the worst collection of candidates the Republicans ever put up. I also wonder WHY it is that he WON'T release MORE of his tax returns. Which is made even more ironic and hypocritical becuase it was his own FATHER Who started that *transparency*. His last *reported* tax record indicated he was worth something around $250 MILLION!? So how much MORE is he REALLY worth? He seems so adament about NOT releasing more tax records it leads to -- hmm -- a word Romney is fully aware of -- SPECULATION that he is indeed hiding something!? Is he worth twice that? 3 times? 4? 5? TEN!?
He has raised SOOO much money from his ULTRA rich friends, and "friends* in HIGH places, I suspect this is actually NOT going to be a good thing for Romney and the GOP. Money -- too much of it or too little of it is already a compaign issue.

Our country is in a disastrous shape so of course these things come up to cause a distraction to keep people's minds off of the sad, sickening shape our country is in. Obama and his henchmen have been destroying America and though he had almost four years to fix things, he only made them worse. His executive decisions are the sneakiest thing I have ever seen. He keeps passing stupid laws behind the backs of the American people, congress and any lawmaker who may try to stop him. He just did away with the welfare constraints and he is going to do away with the right to hold guns. He has made numerous executive priviledge decisions which boarder on ludricrous and no one says a thing. Look it up -. Our economy really sucks, food prices, gas prices, and everything else is going up and wages either don't exist for many because they can't find a job or they are going down because so many people are underemployed. Our country, under the Obama administration has lost it's excellent credit rating with the world and we are a laughing stock with China and other countries to whom we owe billions, even trillions of dollars. We are becomming a third-world nation and are being slowly being taken over internally by different factions. So Obama is trying to make an issue of Romney for making money? Believe me, I would, a thousand times over, have Romney handle America's financial mess then have Obama do it for four more years. Mitt Romney knows how to make money. He was not born rich, he worked his way up, and stupid people are blaming him for being smart - like that was a bad thing. Wake up people. See the crap Obama is trying to pull on you AGAIN. One of the key Democratic talking points is that a vote for Romney is a vote to return to the policies of the Bush Administration that is blamed for the economic meltdown. What the Democrats don't publicize is that the institutions that sparked the economic meltdown, i.e. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were founded during the Clinton Administration. Even Bill Clinton has openly admitted that he ignored calls for greater regulation of these two agencies out of concern for the potential for economic calamity that ultimately were realized. These two organizations were founded for the purpose of making it possible for the less advantaged to realize the American Dream. Unfortunately, what this resulted in was making loans to people who could not hope to pay them back. The economic meltdown was not the fault of Bush, but rather Clinton. Many will arque that the economy was good during the Clinton Administration and that is true, but this is due to the lingering effect of Reganomics that started the economic boom that carried over to the subsequent Administration.
President Obama does not understand the economy or how it works. The fact that he has proposed tax legislation to raise the capital gains tax to 43.5% from 15% illustrates that point. No one would argue that the economy is recovering poorly. The only effect that the rise in the capital gains tax would have is to de-incentivize those who have the means to make investments and to create jobs. The most likely effect with regards to revenue collections is that revenue will paradoxically drop as a result.
The accusations that the Obama camp have made regarding Romney's time at Bain are fellacious. Although he retained ownership of the company, he left for Utah to devote the majority of his time organizing the Olympics and delegated the day to day operations to others. On the balance, Bain Capital has created literally hundreds of thousands of jobs in the U.S. by introducing new and advanced technologies to the workplace. That has been verified by independent fact finders.
The Obama stimulus bill, that was an utter failure actually exported jobs and money to foreign countries such as China, Finland and Brazil amoung others.

When Bush passes 1.5 trillion in stimulus spending most going to banks and financial institutions ending up enriching the 1% there's silence on the right. When Obama spends 780 billion most going to states to create or protect jobs he's evil.

Why do they Bash Obama for wanting to give temporary legal status to 800,000 children of illegals who've been here since they were babies and consider themselves Americans but agree with Romney who wants to import 1,250,000 foreigners who have high tech skills legal status even though unemployment in those area's are double what they were prior to the recession? He claims this will create support jobs. Selling new immigrants Big Macs?
What does Romney's tax returns show for those three yrs in question @ Bain? Was he paid & did he claim that income? What does Bain claim for those 3yrs? What's so difficult to understand if given the honest proof? If there's been denial in what the records show, how can anyone trust anything this man says?
