Nebraska Republicans will select delegates on Saturday to send to the national Republican convention, a process that could amount to Ron Paul's last stand as a presidential candidate.
If Paul wins a plurality of delegates in Nebraska this weekend, his name will be put forth as a nominee versus Mitt Romney in Tampa. If his team can't secure enough delegates on Saturday, his longshot bid for the Republican presidential nomination is formally dead.
Nebraska is the last state to hold a convention and its 32 delegates are not required to match the May 15 “beauty contest” primary, where presumptive nominee Mitt Romney won 70 percent of the vote. However, prospective delegates must indicate their presidential preference and are bound to vote for that candidate for the first two ballots at the August Republican National Convention.
According to RNC Rule 40, Paul needs a plurality of delegates from five states for his name to be put forth for nomination at the convention. The Texas Congressman has won a majority of state delegations in Iowa, Maine, Minnesota and Louisiana. If he is nominated, Paul will be allotted fifteen minutes to deliver a speech at the convention before the first round of balloting.
Local reports say both Romney and Paul supporters have been “burning up the phone lines” making calls to delegates to assess who they’re voting for before the state convention in Grand Island.
Support for Paul could embarrass Governor Dave Heineman, who was the first Republican governor to endorse Romney.
"I welcome the Tea Party and Ron Paul supporters," Heineman said. "That's great for our party. But it's time to be good sports and get behind Governor Romney.”
When Republicans arrive at the Riverside Golf Club for the convention they will be met with additional security, hired by the state party in anticipation of a Paul insurgency.
“It’s been communicated to us from other RNC members from around the country to watch for specific things,” Jordan McGrain, executive director of the state Republican Party, told NBC News.
“Their experience has been instructive to us. We’ve received correspondence from those who attended the Nevada and Louisiana state conventions where they had significant disturbances and problems. It arose from not everyone being on the same page and we have the benefit of that hindsight.”
Paul supporters have been blamed for picking arcane rule fights, which dragged out the state convention in Nevada and led to a brawl in Louisiana.
The 76-year-old congressman stopped actively campaigning in May, urging supporters to remain involved in politics to “become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions” and has focused resources on state conventions.
The date of Nebraska’s GOP state convention has not been lost on some Paul supporters, who point out July 14 is Bastille Day – “Vive la Revolution!” It’s up to Nebraska Republicans to determine whether Ron Paul’s Revolution will be loudly heard at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in August.

I hope that he continues right through the election cycle.
We all know that Romney isn't what the GNOP wants. Maybe the not so far right will want to back Paul.
Maybe Paul will do to Romney what Perot did to Bush 1.
Folks, this will be fun to see....Brawl?
Oh what fun it is to see the old Geezer giving Willard some serious heartburn!
*popcorn*?
*popcorn*?
Good Monday morning to you my dear friend!
Make mine with a little extra salt please. That would be much like what Paul continues to rub in the Willard wounds.
I'm not so sure that it is Ron Paul's last stand. He may try to get nominated for V-P. Now wouldn't that just make the wooden man burn. If Romney doesn't throw the Libertarians a bone, they will likely walk out of the convention. BTW, may I have some popcorn,
Looks like Barry is going all out to try and make the voting public forget about his dismal failures when it comes to his handling of the economy. The last thing Barry wants anyone discussing is three really crappy monthly job reports in a row, along with the prospect of several more bad jobs reports leading up to the election. He needs a diversion, and right away:
“MYJOB is on the line. Quick, Axe, crank up the class warfare machine!!!”

From Politico:
Report: Obama to seek temporary Bush tax cuts extension
By MAGGIE HABERMAN | 7/9/12 12:48 AM EDT
Via the Times, a story that will frame the coming week, and some after that - the president plans to urge a year-long extension of the Bush tax cuts on people making less than $250,000:
Mr. Obama plans to make his announcement in the Rose Garden on Monday, senior administration officials said. The ceremony comes as Congress returns from its Independence Day recess, and as both parties and their presidential candidates head into the rest of the summer trying to seize the upper hand in a campaign that has been closely matched and stubbornly static.
House Republicans plan to vote this month to extend permanently all of the Bush tax cuts, for middle- and upper-income people.
The president’s proposal could also put him at odds with Democratic leaders like Representative Nancy Pelosi of California and Senator Charles E. Schumer of New York, who have advocated extending the cuts for everyone who earns up to $1 million. And it will most likely do little to break the deadlock in Washington over how to deal with fiscal deficits, an impasse that has only hardened as Republicans sense a chance to make gains in Congress this fall.
But by calling for an extension for just a year, Mr. Obama hopes to make Republicans look obstructionist and unreasonable. Trying to bounce back from another weak jobs report on Friday, he also hopes to deepen the contrast with his challenger, Mitt Romney. On Friday, the president said Mr. Romney would “give $5 trillion of new tax cuts on top of the Bush tax cuts, most of them going to the wealthiest Americans.”
Does everybody else notice the lack of GOP supporters here at this point?
I would venture to guess that it is because so many of them don't have an opinion about this article. The reason? They haven't been given their talking points by FOX and the con radio programs. That is the only knowledge they receive and the bulk of what they can reiterate. Very Sad.
To illustrate the point, look at how many of them came out as quickly as possible in large numbers in the previous article when it was about the economy. The con far right does everything in their power to talk as much as possible about how bad things are. Then they point their bony finger at Obama as if everything is his fault. Never-mind that the cons in the House refuse to help the people; just say it's the democrats/Obama's fault until they repeat it.
Brian & Ron;
Feisty's extra salty blend coming right up! ☺

Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL
they have 2 or 3 billionaires that are dying to support Willard. One of them, Adelson, was 2 seconds away from going bankrupt during the Bush Admin., yet he's spending tens of millions to help Willard - the GWB clone.
In 2008, Adelson’s empire was facing default, and today he has rebounded to $25 billion, again making him one of the ten richest people in America. He should be kissing Obama's feet but for whatever reason, he wants to go back to the Bush-like policies that almost made him bankrupt - GO FIGUE!
What is it with your righties...If you don't like MSNBC's articles why do you read and post comments on them. The economy is certainly in focus, but righties find so many other things to blame on Obama. If the wind changed direction by 1 mph, the righities would blame Obama for that as well.
Please give one reputable source with a "QUOTE" in which President Obama attacks someone's personal character. I am on the edge of my seat waiting.....
Fiesty, Popcorn up please... My container is empty and why not have some more to go with the entertainment from the right.
Get em Ron Paul!!!
Ron Paul supporters are not going to vote for anyone but Ron Paul, and Bubba and the SBC are not going to vote for a Morman, sorry Mitt - your 15 minutes of fame are just about up, tic toc, tic toc.
Mitt is the Wrong Pal for you.
Oh, no, some Republican'ts plan to rob Mitt to pay Paul at the GOP national Convention?
I love Ron Paul. No, I wouldn't vote for him because I think he's crazy but ya gotta love the guy.
When the Oklahoma Republicans had their little convention a couple of months back the fight between the Paul supporters and the rest got so intense several people had to be forcibly removed from the hall.
The Governor (poor little GOP rubber stamp Mary Fallen) got BOOOED when she tried to restore order and it all made the local news. No, the Oklahoma Republicans didn't invite the media to their party but someone with a camera phone provided the video. It was sad, in a laughing my A** off kind of way.
So, c'mon you cornhuskers. Give Ron a fighting chance. Give him a plurality of delegates and let's send this fight to the convention floor where it belongs, so the rest of us can enjoy it. Geeez, if Paul gets to on the ballot in Tampa I'll even break down and watch. I'll just keep the Pepto Bismal nearby in case I'm overcome with nausea. YEEEHAW!
Obama/Biden 2012
Here you go - help yourself! ;o)
I hope Ron Paul & his supporters wreak holy hell on Willard at the convention!
Contrary to popular belief, Willard has NOT been crowned "King" quite yet! lol
I thought Crazy Old Racist Grandpa already threw in the towel. I do hope he gets to speak in front of the Republican Wing Nut Jobs. It might help draw a contrast between a man of conviction (convictions I don't really endorse, but respect his committments) and a man with no convictions, morals or direction.
Yes, I'm talking about Willard Romneycare.
This is a good chance to make a couple of suggestions for "extra credit" reading:
1) How about what Ron Paul really stands for. The Libertarian Party Platform can be found at www.lp.org/platform You will find that it includes things like opening our borders completely to anyone who cares to come, and doing the same with our monetary system. Lots of other surprises as well. The Libertarians are actually a lot closer to Anarchists than to an organized political party. But just read their platform. It was largely written by Ron and Rand Paul.
2) How about the Republican Platform at www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=25838#axzz209CzflVt This was the platform of the GOP when Eisenhower was re-elected. At that time the GOP was getting about 70% of the African-American vote and near 100% of the GBLT vote. We don't know how much of the Latino vote they were getting because the GOP had not gotten around to classifying Latinos as "non-white."
We live in a strange world where Christ would not be welcome in the "Christian" church and Eisenhower would be considered as far too liberal to be a Republican and even Reagan would not pass the litmus test to be a Tea Bagger. And we call people who are mostly American-Indian "Hispanics" even though the term refers to people who came from the Iberian Peninsula (Hispania.)
It is amazing to me that both the liberal "I want the government to control my life and get the rest of the people to pay for me" and the core GOP "Let's keep the war machine rolling, it is good for business"... are so scared of the minimal government, give back liberties, only go to war when it threatens our nation and then only when congress approves it, pay for what you spend, earn what you get... common sense approach that Ron Paul preaches?
Basically, isn't it what we should all try to live by on a personal level and should be teaching our children?
@msgfromme -- It makes too much sense - so much so that people don't get it.
The people who support the status quo always call Dr. Paul a loony, but maybe, JUST MAYBE, "loony" is what we need?
. 1SGFitzsWife4ID
sorry, I wouldn't want him to be my doctor, never mind my president.
"If it's an honest rape, that individual should go immediately to the emergency room, I would give them a shot of estrogen." Ron Paul
Who says that?????
Ron Paul is not a Libertarian nor a loony, he is a Constitutionist and man committed to his convictions of governing America according to the supreme laws of the land. Paul (who once served) is not opposed to wars, just unnecessary, undeclared and political wars that send Americans to their deaths for others gains.
Finally, someone comes along that insists America be governed according to the supreme law of the land, and people call him crazy, or loony.
Let me ask those people this, "If we do not adhere to the supreme law of the land, then what, or who's laws and rules do we govern by, where do we put the limitations on infringements of individual rigths and privacy ?"......If the supreme law has become toothless, we surely have returned to from where we once fled !!
Nobody wants you elected, dude. Give it up.
Ron Paul should run as an Independent.
This old fella can't cause much of a stir among the republicans. His politicis are in the vein of "John M. Palmer" once, about 116 years or so ago, the governor of Illinois, who went even further than the "bourbon democrats" to become what was then called a "gold democrat". As I have said before; Ron Pauls political philosophy became obsolete along with "shaved wiping cobs" used by the well to do ladies and gents of that era before the appearance of rolled toilet paper. Today, more than ever, most prefer paper over cobs.
Um a DOCTOR maybe? You do know what "the morning after" pill is right? I would be honored if Dr. Paul had delivered my children.
Every time I see a "joe in albany" post I get that stuff in the back of my throat ya know when you see something disgusting...and stupid... Joe, go back to faux news....PLEASE.
bulletstopper,
you figured it out, Ron Paul is a democrat secret operative put into the republican race to take out Mutt Romney. should be fun to watch mutt not get the delegates needed on the convention floor.
fight the good fight
do not frown
keep victory in sight
but when your dead lay down!
Yeh, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, The story of the Toirtus and the Hare. I just hope That those Corn Huskers are smart enough to go for Ron. I even bet Romney forgot about Ron. I hear Mass is thinking about spitting out Romney care but I hear talk the other way to. You how those people are about No Taxation Without Reprsentation. Some kind of package is going to come down the highway, don't matter which party. Kinda like the end of times, that's coming to. Eventually.......Sooner or later..... ... .. ... .. . .
Do you really think that Ron Paul or romney can get a majority of republicans to vote for him? The republicans fear Paul as much as the democrats and just plain don't like romney.
I am an independent but would vote for Ron Paul. I will not vote for obama or his clone, obama-lite.
Its funny how people know that Obama and Romney are so much alike, yet they fight over "im a dummycrat..I'll vot for obama" ...or the Repubs "anyone but Romney, gotta get out Obama" yet Romney and Obama are the same pieces of @!$%#! They Both suck ass, and both will do this country harm as it is going!
The media has so many people so dumbed down it isnt even funny anymore!
If you like Romney, then vote for him or Obama...its the same @!$%#!
Or you can choose to vote for this country and vote for neither! If Ron Paul doesnt make it, there is Gary Johsnon! However Ron Paul has opened up the eyes of many people....the rest need to wake up!
That would be great...then we can watch Ron Paul and Obama go at it....while Ron Paul is not a gerat speaker, he tells the truth! It will prevail over obama....he tells all lies, but is a great speaker.
Cant black out the media then, and with something like that Obama is out...terrorizing this counrty no more!
Sorry to say, who cares, really? RP may be a thorn in Romney's side or not; but his campaign has been over since the LAST election. Most people are not willing to vote for him; he is seen as a nut job, not a serious candidate for POTUS.
As for the comments about certain factions within the Republican Party walking out of the convention, refusing to vote or whatever - get real. No matter who Romney picks as his VP (except maybe SP) the Republicans that vote will vote for him in November. What else are they going to do, vote for Obama? Oh please, give me a break!
There I fixed it for you.
Your welcome.
They're paid to, that's why.
Are you kidding me? President Obama would kill Ron Paul in a straight up debate. They would have to invoke the mercy rule to avoid total embarrassment. It would be like Tom Brady going up against Y.A. Tittle in a passing skills contest.
Ron Paul wants a pony!
I grew up in Nebraska and left only because I had graduated from the U of Nebr and was entering the US Army. These guys--Paul and Heineman--are not Cornhuskers; they are embarrassments to the state and all of the good citizens of Nebraska.
For progressives and swing voters, a plutocrat like Romney would be so disastrous. For sane Republicans (assuming there are any left), Romney is a weak, capitulating mistake and they know it.
This is why Ron Paul has had so much support, why rightwing gazillionares have had to throw huge amounts of money at the problem, and why the propaganda machine (e.g., chain Email) is trying to prop up Romney so much there is smoke coming off the gears.
If the GOP doesn't find a way to get a better candidate by the time of the convention, they will rue the day Romney was nominated.
Its funny how the Democrats don't want war and the republicans want lower spending yet this is obviously not what they are voting for yet Ron Paul would appease both of these party wants.
Ron Paul will be known as America's last hope.
Anyone calling him old, crazy, or a racist has proven themselves to be ignorant and nothing more than someone who gets their thoughts and opinions from the cable box.
I am voting Ron Paul or Gary Johnson no matter what.
Mitt Romney and Barack Obama will not receive a vote from me as they are obviously in bed with the corporations that run this country (JUST LOOK AT THEIR CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS!)
bayllie -- Each of the gazillionaires trying to buy the election have something they want in return. In Sheldon Adelson's case, it is pro-Israel warmongering that he wants.
Even if Romney picked Sarah Palin -- Agreed -- Don't underestimate the rightwing propaganda machine, the Mormon population, and plain old low-information voters. There is a chain Email going around (I posted some of it in an older thread) filled with Birther lies, etc. about the president, and that paints a bright shiny (false) picture of Romney, and staple propaganda (e.g., using the word "regime" instead of administration). I know educated rightwingers who believe and distribute this crap.
All I can say is progressives and moderates need to get out the vote. In swing states, get out and take three other people with you. And everyone, go online and check on voting requirements well ahead of going to the voting booth.
Yea, and i bet you still think his birth certificate was fake. Give it up with the teleprompter, will ya. Nearly every professional speaker has used one since the 1960's for prepared speeches. Much more professional than carrying a stack of paper to the rostrum. And exactly how would anyone use one during a debate?
i just love the Misinformation that MSNbc is putting out. See for your self what happened at the Louisiana convention. Ron Paul supporters did everything by the book and won the delegates needed for Paul to win that state. It was the Republican party that did not like the out come and tried to get rid of the Ron Paul supporters. Ron Paul won the majority and the Republicans tried to change the voting rules the night before(which is not allowed). They are scared that Ron Paul could win this!!! Here is the proof... 3 W's .policymic.com/articles/9163/ron-paul-delegates-arrested-as-they-win-a-majority-at-louisiana-gop-convention
This is a big eye opener.....
The Tea Party is dead, chalk up another GOP offshoot that fizzled, it only runs when the Koch boys throw tons of money at it.
Funny how Ron Paul was the darling of the Move On dot Org people six years ago - then the Koch boys threw money at him and all of a sudden he was Mr. Tea-bag. Glen Beck bites the dust and the TP'ers lost their talking points, too bad, so sad. At least they all have Halloween costumes now.
I'm not sure if Ron Paul actually said that about rape victims, but it appears that he's speaking from a doctor's perspective. If the girl was actually raped, she would need immediate medical attention. It makes perfect sense once you realize what's going on.
All Americans should vote for an "authentic" candidate to represent their party; not waste their votes on a vote-pandering charlatan.
So, all thoughtful and conscientious Conservative Republicans should write in the name Ron Paul on their ballots in November.
Thank you!
Obama/Biden 2012 ( Get it? ;-)
nomoresameo: to answer your question (above) as to why Repubs haven't posted on this forum yet. Perhaps it is because they have jobs to perform at 11:51 am. How about you? No work today?
Ron Paul tells about a government that has reached way beyond its borders, he tells about a government that is so far from its original reality that bringing it back to reality is impossible. There for he tells what steps maybe taken, that don't exactly line up with his views but point in the direction of a government that is being reined in. This causing much confusion to voters who just can't get beyond the fact that their lives are based on the success of a few, and they are terrified the wrong man in office could rock their boat to the extent they may fall off. I appreciate all that wish to serve for the right reason, that being to continuing forming a more perfect government. I think Ron Paul points more so to the continuation of a more perfect government then any man or woman on the planet. I believe he will receive write in's and it will hurt the GOP on the ballot. So why they don't they be a good sports and jump on the Ron Paul band wagon? after all the only one writing in Romney, is Romney.
I would prefer Ron Paul stand beside Obama in a debate merely to give Obama a better idea of what the people want. As the current president he can change his mind, he can with full credit stand up and say " wow Ron you sure do have a lot of support on this issue, perhaps I need to change my view on it." No one would call Obama an idiot for paying attention to WHY Paul has so much support. In fact if he was willing to work with Paul he might get votes back. i do not think RP really wants to be President, I think he wants the people to know they do have control over decision made by our govt and they need to be more vocal about it and really get our politicians to listen. Most Americans believe we need to stop policing the world, Paul wants us to show Obama or whoever is President, we are sick of the wars and sick of spending money in other nations on said wars. Just as an example of an IDEA Obama could use. Romney is nothing but same old same old, keep the wars going and keep the oil flowing. Obama could take a lot away from a debate with RP and come back the next time agreeing with SOME of RPs ideas that the public really like!
I've got nothing against Ron Paul other than the fact that he raised Rand Paul who is a complete and utter nutter.
This makes me wonder about Ron Paul.
1SGFitzsWife4ID
it's not up to any doctor to decide who gets what treatment and why. The Morning After pill is legal so what is your point?
If he does not want to administer it, as a doctor, he can work in a religious-affiliated hospital. , but does not get to decide who was raped "enough." As a doctor, he has one obligation and one obligation only: treat the patient. The investigation of the claim should be left to the police, the prosecutor, and the court.
GO Ron Paul.
Except his specialty is OB/GYN. Therefor his obligation to treat the patient(s) would be a mother and a fetus/baby. He wouldn't be dealing with rape victims that would be an ER doctor.
the morning after pill is a shot of estrogen that's the point. Good Lord.
As much as I'd like to see Ron Paul split the vote... Believe it or not I have to side with the GOP on this. The Republican party's voters have spoken, and Paul cheating to win despite that is only going to cause trouble. The American people just don't want him.
Which was what? Lose?
lol...
~
The Ru Paul cult is finished. Pack it in, dude.
Cmon guys, be a good sport and back the vulture capitalist android

To all you liberals: Can you place this description?
"The party favored states' rights and strict adherence to the Constitution; it opposed a national bank and wealthy, moneyed interests."
Huh, seems like Mr Crazy believes in the same things. I wonder who created this party and whether I can still join.
Well, after 2 seconds of research, I guess it was the Democratic Party created by Thomas jefferson and James Madison. And sad to say, they no longer exist, all that remains are hypocrites, who fell in with the moneyed interests and are voting themselves welfare pay increases on the backs of the taxpayer.
I wish, where can I get some welfare? You seem to know the ways to get around the rules and get a fat handout for life, tell us how it's done?
ACA
bayllie, the reason he says that is because the estrogen will prevent pregnancy.
Sure. Pick yourself up a welfare queen down in the ghetto. She'll get ya some steak. Real good.
;)
Just when he thought he had it all wrapped up, this little thorn in Romney's side could become quite diverting for Democrats watching the GOP comedy show (a.k.a. Republican primary)!
The problem with the Nebraska GOP is the current party bosses, Heineman, Fahleson, Bruning, etc... See the party as serving them and not the reverse. They want to deliver the party line vote to Romney so they can get a cushy job in DC. The problem IS.. Delegates are NOT required by state law, nor by the rules of the GOP Party to support the winner of the Primary vote. And a bunch of folks in the GOP are tired of the same old party bosses telling everyone how to vote. The Ron Paul supporters are using the rules to effect change within the party. And of course the party bosses are going to break the rules to keep the status quo. Which to say their grip on the lock step - group think serfdom they call the NE GOP. So dastardly Dave and his henchmen are going to trot out the brown shirts to slap down folks in their own party, instead of letting their own people talk and share their own opinions. Should be very interesting to see how the national convention plays out on TV.

I will reapeat it again: you are supporting a physician that believes in "honest" rape. WTF is that? Only a moron would say that.
Context is important. My father-in-law used to say that a lot. Paul was not saying there is a sub-type of rape that is "honest"; he was merely distinguishing between an actual rape and a situation where there is an allegation of rape but no actual rape. If you don't think those latter situations occur, you live in la-la land. And, in the context of his comment, the distinction was important.
Yeah as opposed to oh I don't know someone like Crystal Gail Mangum bayllie? You remember her right? And countless others like her.
@ bayllie
Moron? Who is the real moron? A well respected doctor or a person who can't believe that a woman might lie about a rape to get an abortion?
I'm pretty sure that "honest rape" means "honestly a rape and not something else". It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to say that Dr. Paul thinks that rape is a positive thing.
I'm confused. Why would a woman need to lie to have an abortion? Or was this a comment directed at the fundies about their loony stance?
Why should we be good sports and vote for the vulture when he has lied cheated and bought his way through this entire election. Sorry but we don't feel like being good sports.
"I welcome the Tea Party and Ron Paul supporters," Heineman said. "That's great for our party. But it's time to be good sports and get behind Governor Romney.”
Heineman is no different from a typical republican supporter: IN DENIAL. This may come as a shock to Heineman, but Romney is NOT a governor.
But I agree 100% with you JLParker. Why would people support a failure like Romney?
Stick to your guns, Paul supporters! In Maine, the Romney camp tried to prevent Ron Paul ballots from being counted. We don't brawl in Maine, but there was a kerfuffle at the convention, when the Paul delegates kicked the establishment out of power.
Interesting to hear that Republicans must be "good sports" and get behind the empty suit or not be allowed into the convention. Doesn't this just make you want to have old Mitts for President? NOT!
Obama/Biden 2012
Amy B. Portland, ME
The Republicans cry "Voter Fraud" every chance they get as long as it prevents a person to vote for a Democrat. What's happening in their own party is considered what? Being resourceful?
@nomore,
It is generally considered a term of respect to refer to people by the highest political office they previously completed honorably. Therefore it is correct ettiquette to call Romney "Governor" but not to call Palin the same since she did not honorably complete her term.
But as far as being "good sports" and rallying around Romney --- does he mean like the GOP were good sports and rallied around our President??????
Have a cousin in Nebraska - a Democrat - who went to a recent Republican event to see the fireworks. WOW! even the Governor and the former Congressman from Omaha had it out! (Governor Dave Heineman was chief of Staff to Rep Hal Daub a few years back. My Democratic friend heard the Governor yell at Daub, "WELL, I AM THE GOVERNOR!") Oh boy! The Repelican Convention in Grand Island, NE could be a BIG, BIG rowdy pissing deal! Go get 'em Ron Paul supporters!
Hell NO....Mitt is the same as Obama...who would be so stupid to vote for either Romney or Obama....only a moron!
OBAMA/BIDEN 2012
Take a look at the Republican Primary results and you will find that Romney won the state with 71% of the vote, won every county, and every precinct. Ron Paul finished a distant third. Ron Paul taking the state is a pipe dream.
If a political party has hired extra security to keep out people from their own party that disagree with them, do you really want to give these people the keys to the military?
That's the idea D-S. We are trying to take away the keys from these homicidal/suicidal neo-cons.
RP could probably save this planet if ppl let him. They wont, but, he probably could.
Aloha Detroit-Storm! - from hawaii! How's ol gratiot avenue doing? I miss the drag racing back in the day there!
;)
Maybe Arlen Spector could throw his hat in the ring so the Democrats have a better candidate this year?
we have one and his name is President Obama. The Republicans need to do better than Williard "Severely Conservative" Romney who can't even seal the deal with his own party.
Even Failin' Palin doesn't approve of Mitt, and Sarah matters in your circles.
All these Romneycare supporters have forgotten when they were fanatically chasing Cain, Perry, Gingrich and the other nut jobs that fell by the wayside. Meanwhile, quietly, Romneycare was passing the hat around in the back rooms, making promises to Norquist and the Kock Brothers. Those are his real masters. That's why he refuses to give specifics on any plans or policies. You simply don't count. If you have $50,000 to buy a piece of the candidate, then you count. Easy, huh?
And since the GOP and the tighty righties made religion "fair game": we have to remember that all these right-wing Muslim-haters are supporting a non-Christian for President. If you think Mormons are Christians, just ask your minister/pastor/priest and they will set you straight on the theology involved.
The reason you don't see all us Ron Paul supporters posting on these articles isn't because we didn't get talking points, it's because we stopped wasting our time trying to educate the libtards long ago. You simply don't, won't, or can't understand what is happening and all the teaching we can muster isn't going to change that. Sometimes dumb is just dumb, permanently.
As for getting their talking points straight, no one beats the libtards on that. It much easier to get a robot to act like a robot.
Um... so we should sink to the right's level and demonize their candidate based on religion, too? Thanks, but no. I like to think we're better than that.
To Chris-749391 who wrote:
I can understand that as a extreme liberal you could not support Romney due to your political views, but attacking a religion without any understanding of that faith is totally insane. So let me give you a few facts that some ministers/pastors/priests might not understand because they have never researched the "Mormons", much less read the Book of Mormon. The name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If we are not Christians (Followers of Christ) why would we name our church after Him? Mormons study the King James Bible. If we are not Christians, why would we study the same scriptures as your faith? Bottom line is that as a Mormon, I would defend your right to practice your faith with the same intensity as I would defend my right to practice my faith or Gov Romney's faith. All I ask is that you do the same.
If you are the followers of Christ, why did they spend $1.5 billion on a mall and countless billions on churches/temples and virtually nothing on the dozens of homeless downtown?
How does a corporate vulture like Rmoney who chose to ruin the lives of thousands get to even still attend and pretend to have a soul?
It is true that the Morman's are more related to the Mason's, Lyon's Club, Chamber of Commerce, and fraternal groups. Their "religion" is based more on "capital" than "value".
Go Ron Paul!! Fight for your rights!!
Yes.. Fight for your rights...
1. Women deserve to have the right to "choose" what happens to their bodies. They don't need the government telling them.
2. Women deserve to have equal pay for doing the same job as a man. The GOP can stop their war/attack on women.
3. Marriage is not a heterosexual right that should only be granted in the states or by religion.
Ron Paul??? America's best candidate in 1896. However, make sure you get on the ballot and be a thorn in mitten's side. The more the GOP splinters, the bigger win for Obama.
Obama/Biden 2012.
Tommy-499410
Isn't he the guy who only acknowledges "violent" rapes?oh, no, it's "honest" rapes. That's the guy you support?
Itsabouttime
1. "Women deserve to have the right to "choose" what happens to their bodies. They don't need the government telling them."
Yes, this is obvious. So, women, men, blacks, gays, hispanics....we are all one and the same and should get equal rights. Therefore, we deserve liberty and that is all.
2. "Women deserve to have equal pay for doing the same job as a man. The GOP can stop their war/attack on women."
This just depends on your employer. What kind of law can you create to give one type of person an advantage over another type of person? That doesn't make any sense. If your job sucks, do something else. The answer is not in creating another law. Where does that take us 100 years from now? Of course women should be considered with respect and equal in the fact that all humans are different and therefore, we are equal. But a law giving women better pay is a law against millions of men and women who would deserve just as equal an opportunity but do not get it. It's flawed and will not work..it will only divide.
You know Jefferson...this is what drives me nuts about your conservatives. "Equal" does not mean "getting something special" or "more".
No one is suggesting that women have a law that gives them an advantage over men. But what is wrong with a law stating that wages cannot be determined by gender but only on qualifications? All things being equal - a woman should receive the same exact salary offered to a man. Yet even in this day and age - a male and a female of equal qualifications will receive different salaries because one has a joy stick between their legs.
@ bayllie
You have so blatantly misunderstood that quote. It is tiresome to see you try to bash him with it. It makes you look silly.
1. The woman that goes to the clinic to get an abortion because she got pregnant from her extra marital affair and tells the doctor she was raped so that her husband doesn't find out of her infidelity.
2. The woman who was held at gunpoint while being manhandled by a thug (or a friend).
Can you see which one is "honestly" considered rape?
spunkeee1
what? anyone who says "honest rape" is a moron. PERIOD. What you and your Dr. Weirdo is doing is making "RAPE" sound, feel and look trivial. RAPE IS RAPE and you should be ashamed for even trying to explain it.
bayllie, when someone only has 1 talking point and they can only keep repeating it, it makes them look like a troll. As a person who has been the victim of sexual assault, and who has seen a friend jailed falsely for 5 years for a "violent rape" that never occurred, I feel his statements make perfect sense. (How do I know it never occurred in the case of my friend? She immediately posted on facebook after the sentencing gloating over how she set him up.) So no, rape is NOT always really "rape".
Bad choice of words, really. He should have said "really raped" or "actual rape". That way morons like bayllie wouldn't misunderstand things.
What is this about? Why are we even giving it credence? A woman can have an abortion for any reason. It's the law. She isn't required to say who and how she got pregnant. She isn't required to say anything. Again THAT'S THE LAW.
That's the real issue here. Not what is rape and what isn't.
MonkeyMo
how is this relevant to this topic? You apparently have an issue with our judicial system but this is a discussion about a doctor using the word HONEST & RAPE. Doctor's job is not to arrest, prosecute and jail the patient's rapist - IT IS TO TREAT THE PATIENT!
again, that's for the police to determine if false report was filed and then arrest, prosecute and jail but still not relevant to what doctor's OBLIGATIONS TO THE PATIENT are.
SPARTAN-501
Please entertain this moron and show me a legal definition of "really raped" or "actual rape." Please show me any medical or law book that has these subcategories. Please show me a medical book that instructs doctors to investigate the reality of their patient's claim before treating them. There is no such thing, is there?
Again, and again, again: doctor's obligation is to treat the patient for any potential venerial deseases, and, if instructed, and not part of a relious-affiliated hospital, for potential pregnancy.
it is not up to ANY doctor to pass judgement on the patient and determine if this is a HONEST rape or a Mickey Mouse rape.
NOT IF THE DOCTOR'S SPECIALTY IS OB/GYN! How many times do you have to be told that? His obligation is to the mother and her unborn, so unless she became pregnant because of rape he would send her to the ER! Why is that so difficult to understand?
I really sympathize with you here. I understood the quote, and your repeated attempts to explain it. As someone said above, you just can't educate everyone. Best to you.
@ bayllie
You are still taking this quote so far out of context.
I am not arguing the merits of your claim that a doctor's obligation is to treat.
You are right.
The argument was the meaning of "honest" rape and your inability to see the difference.
According to your logic the welfare depleting trash that chooses not to use condoms or birth control can just as easily go to the doctor every month or so and get an abortion instead. All she has to do is say she was raped and let the police try to prove otherwise. Is that "honest"?
I really don't see how Ron Paul is much different from Romney.
They both want tax cuts for the rich.
They both want to kill health care.
They both want to kill minimum wage.
They both want to kill medicare.
They both want to kill social security.
They both want to kill education.
They both want to kill the EPA.
They have both signed the personhood amendment to overturn Roe v Wade.
They both want to kill unions.
The only difference I see is that Paul claims to be against war. The only problem I have in believing that is the fact that the last time Paul had a chance to vote to end the war in Iraq, he chose to vote with the republicans who voted to keep the war going with no end in sight.
VOTE FOR AMERICA....VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT 2012
yeah , vote for obama so we can be 30 ,000,000,000,000,dollars in debt,,,,,,,,,cant wait sign me up......not
You are wrong on so many fronts. Ron Paul believes in the Constitution, which means States rights. If States want to run their own medicare or s.s. or education programs they can. They can also set their own standards regarding unions and minimum wage. He only opposes these things at the Federal level because their is no authority given in the Constitution. Btw, minimum wage is government ruling by force and not allowing the free market to work. That's why jobs have migrated to Mexico. Pretty soon Americans will be caught sneaking into Mexico for jobs and maybe brutalized by Mexican border guards. The only thing he voted yes on in the war was the U.S. being able to go in and get Bin Laden in Afghanistan only. Never has he voted in favor of any operations in Iraq. You stand corrected.
Marc Murphy-3728381
All you need is Romney who would start an unfunded, mortgaged war #3, and #4.
Uh...the only thing Ron Paul voted YES for in terms of the Iraq War was getting out troops out. He voted against declaring war against Iraq, removing Saddam Hussein, declaring Iraq part of the "War on Terror," and in favor of investigating Bush for impeachment based on the lies that got us into Iraq in the first place. He has staunchly opposed going to war willy nilly as everyone since G.H.W. Bush - including Obama - has happily tried to expand the U.S. Empire despite all historical evidence that ALL empires eventually crumble due to economic collapse. I'm not quite sure what you're smoking to say that Ron Paul has ever given any idication that he's in favor or war or would get into office and suddenly change his mind. I would expect more people on a "news" site with a clear liberal slant to care more about us going into neverending wars and not shut up just because the guy currently marching us into Syria happens to be on their team. At least the conservatives are generally consistent in wanting to bomb every place on the planet not inhabited by people who look like us.
Unless, you know, you're hypocrits and only play the dove card when a Republican is in the White House.
So the answer is to pay people the same as they get in Mexico? You go right ahead, but I won't work for pesos.
Ron Paul is the only one against these wars. (Obama - Libya and soon Syria...) He believes we need to fix our economy first.
He is against taxing everybody, not just the rich.
He was a doctor, so he believes in the individual having a closer relationship with the doctor vs. health care where costs are hidden and therefore continue to inflate dramatically every year.
Minimum wage is shipping all our jobs to China and other countries. If you haven't noticed, we don't manufacturer anything besides cars here anymore.
Medicare/Social Security - he is more fiscally responsible and also realizes these programs can't be cut overnight. He wants to allow young people to "opt-out".
Dept. of Education was created under Johnson. Since then education in the US has gone down the toilet. Before that we were the envy of the world. You really want to argue that point? He voted against No Child Left Behind which is a fiscal disaster and hasn't worked.
I actually disagree with Ron on the EPA. I think it's needed to prevent corporations from dumping toxic waste etc.
His view on Roe v Wade is to allow the states to decide (federal govt. should not be involved). Same with same-sex marriage and marijuana. It is not the federal govt.s place to decide on these issues.
Unions are killing our economy, especially public unions where there are no checks and balances. Guy across the street from me is a retired fireman making over $100K a year at 55 for the rest of his life. Try finding that deal in the private sector.
VOTE GARY JOHNSON 2012 - the only non-goldman sachs funded candidate that actually will make REAL changes and prevent a total economic collapse
you should have became a figherfighter then. I hear it's easy to run into burning buildings, and to sacrifice your health and possibly your life.
Instead, you chose your dangerous job instead - sitting behind your computer.
It's easy to complain about what others do while you conribute nothing.
The current odds for Obama to be re-elected on Nov 6th are 66.9% for Obama and 33.1% for Romney. Obama would get 297 electoral votes to 241 for Romney. If the election were held today, it would be 81% chance of Obama winning to 19% of Romney winning. There are zero odds of Ron Paul doing anything except fading away.
Jeesh It look like I have a wonderful choice here. Loser A or Loser B
I Can NOT, and will NOT go there.... a vote for either Mitt or Obama is a losing bet.
They need to add a box to the ballot NONE OF THE ABOVE.
Wouldn't it be a hoot if that box won.
Americans First, if you were really for Americans first, you'd want to kill all of the above things as well. But you'd rather create law upon law, regulation among regulation and equality through restraint. Where does it end? We could survive without all of the ridiculous government intervention. You just can't see it though.
Madmax - they do have "other" on the ballots for President. I wrote in a name for many, many, many years. This will be the second time I will vote for a person listed on the ballot.
OBAMA/BIDEN 2012
I disagree Jefferson. I work with people for a living and let me tell you something....we as a species are miserable. No where else in the animal kingdom will you find members of the same species treating each other as horribly as you will fellow humans treating each other. Laws are around because human beings are selfish and greedy. Oh sure we all say we donate to charity and of course we wouldn't insult so and so...then we turn right around and treat someone else like trash and we cheat someone out of something. We as a society are never satisfied with what we have - we have to have more...well because we're Americans darn it - it's out god ordained right you'll hear people say. Why else would you hear people who make $500 Million dollars a year, with four houses, a stable full of cars, and a lifestyle that looks like a Vanderbilt say that they just don't have enough...that their life is oh so pitiful and sad.
They read with horror that the first settlers in this country, the Pilgrims, practiced communism...each persons harvest was given to the community to share equally. Each person did their part to support the community as a whole because strength was in the community not in the individual. We now have people that think that with their Hummer, their gun and their god...they can be the last person on the planet and their just fine with that. Talk about selfish!
FDR was against war until some fanatic with a bad mustache started pulling crap and killing people all over Europe. There are times in history when it is necessary to confront, head on, the banality of evil. Ron Paul rejects this notion and wants to create a policy of isolation. That was poor policy back then and it sure would be now if a new fanatic showed up, say, with a painted bronze mullet and tilted kilt. We must be at the ready.
James- He wants the policy of non-interventionism not isolationism, if we're attacked, he gets a declaration of war goes in kicks ass and gets out.
Hmm. Please discern the fine lines of "non-interventionism" and isolationism. A declaration of war was written regarding WW2.
sorry, but i will never vote for mitt romney or obama. And if ron paul does not get it . I will vote for gary johnson
Ditto.
Johnson's a good candidate. For anyone who doesn't know, he's on the ballot as the Libertarian Party candidate, after being far too reasonable to be the Republican candidate. I think he's on the ballot in all 50 states. He can't win, but he's a good choice for people wanting to make a statement against the status quo.
Maybe you should read the Libertarian Platform before you vote. They will take us bac k to the 1800's.
not really woody its not about taking us back to the 1800's but making us efficient and fair in the 2010's
The 1800's? You mean a time when we respected each others views? We didn't tread on other peoples values? We had a sense of community? We helped our fallen neighbor? We didn't stand in line for a government hand out?
Yeah that would suck.
spunkeee1
as long as you were a white male who owned land, then yes. your coment is just hilarious: like women and minorities even were aloud to have a view back in 1800s.....
spunkeee1 there is definitely a romanticizing of history going on regarding your sense of the 1800s. Please consult a U.S. historian for further clarification.
In case you didn't know, Johnson started out as a Republican candidate, and only switched to Libertarian after he got knocked out early in the primaries.
Curiously enough, Ron Paul has also ran as the Libertarian party Presidential candidate - twice. He switched to the Republican party only because they had more money and better organization and more political clout.
The policies of both Johnson and Paul are still much more Libertarian than Republican.
Why is that idiot, Ron Paul, even carrying this farther? Even his own son endorsed Mitt Romney. His ideas are pure lunacy. He seems to think that Congress will do whatever he wants and allow his cockamamie ideas to become law.
his son is a sellout to the big gov republicans
His son still owes the Supreme Court an apology for questioning their authority in the ACA ruling.
@Adler-273784 Ron Paul is the only candidate who would save social security. He is the only candidate in the two major parties who have a budget that would actually cut spending. Romney wants bigger government. Republicans are supposed to be in favor of more liberty and less government. Ron Paul wants to audit the FED, and Congress should go along, because that is their power and their job. Ron Paul does not want to go to war unless Congress first makes a declaration of war. In WW II, Roosevelt asked Congress 2 times for a declaration, and he got them both right away (Germany and Japan).
Military employees donated more to Ron Paul's campaign than all of the other Republican candidates combined and more than Obama.
Ending the war on drugs is supported by folks on the left, right and the middle.
I don't know where you get the impression about Congress doing whatever he wants. That is not true. You have not listened to him speak. What he said was that he would veto bills that he considered unconstitutional. As Commander of the military, he does not need permission to bring troops home. If he were to be elected, it is very likely that other libertarian-minded candidates, running for Congress would get elected. As president, he can pardon prisoners in federal prison and he would pardon those who were convicted of non-violent drug-related laws (like smoking a joint).
It is not lunacy to follow the rule of law. Right now, the rule of law is based on the US Constitution.
Actually Rand Paul's strategy is brilliant, by supporting Romney, during the next election in 2016, if Obama wins Rand will be able to say, "Hey I voted for Romney to try and out Obama" and if Romney wins, Rand can say "Hey look at Romney he was no different than Bush or Obama" so vote for me!
Now as far as Ron Paul (who is going to be getting my vote) considering we don't have a true delegate count yet (there's no such thing as bound delegates, that would be illegal) Dr. Paul isn't doing badly
http://www.thereal2012delegatecount.com/
Ron Paul 2012!
Making way for his son (ann) Rand Paul. Think of it as "Paul, the next generation."
Which was written 200 + years ago by a bunch of guys in powdered wigs. I hear people speak about the Constitution these days as they speak about the Bible. The Constitution, unlike the Bible was meant to be a living document. The Founding Fathers understood that things would occur they could not foresee. It will grow and change spurred by the needs of an ever-changing nation.
The fact is, that Ron Paul and Mitt Romney have something very fundamental in common. They are a part of America's past, not her future. It is in both of their interests to maintain the status quo. They are both Rich Old White Men and as such for many years been confered the best of everything that society has to offer.
Their time has come and gone, just as it has for the Koch Brothers, Rupert Murdoch, most of Congress and many others who are clawing to stay alive. Don't expect these Rich Old White Men to give up without a fight. But in 25 years you won't recognize the makeup of this country. It will be a different place. Not because of these fools, but in spite of them.
paul want to end the fed , end the wars ,and live by the constitution of the united states,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and not talk about it
Paul wants to live in the late 19th century and pretend there is no case law for the past century. This is why we need more lawyers, not less, creating laws. The guy has no clue how the Constitution or the legal system works.
40ooo laws a year get passed in this country , i think we are good on the lawyers and more case law.
This , the last of the state conventions will be ignored by the media just like all the rest of the conventions were. Thus, providing the cover needed for the Romney/RNC team to cheat , steal , and commit voter fraud once again. Oh yes it has occurred and has been documented.
Wake up folks! It is as plain as the nose on your face. They will not allow Ron Paul's message to be heard by the masses. Americans have been dumbed down. We are having are Liberties as well as our wealth stolen from us from right under our noses.
I for one will not give up the fight. Even after they cheat us one more time. Why? In October I'll be a Grandfather for the first time and I'll do it for His/hers sake. Keep fighting to get the liberty message out and I hope to see you all in Tampa for the Ron Paul delegates rally on aug. 26th. Peace
Ps.. " It will not be said that I did nothing"
romney and obama suck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Marc you suck get the point now.
Ron Paul supporters are going to show up FULLY prepared and ready to document all cheating and fraud with cameras and recording devices, hidden if necessary. The evidence already gathered against Romney's GOP thugs and bullies is damning and the accusations against Paul supporters in general is false. We will play by all rules, as usual, and we will defeat Romney abusers. Period. Nebraska first, then Tampa.
President Paul 2012!!
I don't like how this article tries to make it sound like the Paul supporters have been the ones causing the disturbances at the conventions. It has been primarily Romney folks, mixed in with some unhappy GOP establishment people who don't want to let go of power. Especially in Louisiana, where the Paul delegation was the clear majority. They elected a Paul person as chair for the convention... The establishment didn't like it, so they had the newly elected chair arrested. The cops threw the old man on the floor and another Paul supporter had his fingers broken. In Nevada, it was Romney supporters causing problems - just like in Oklahoma, where they tried to cut off the lights and the microphones and section off the meeting room to keep Paul people out....after making an out of order motion to adjourn. The Paul folks ended up sticking to the rules to finish convention business and held a rump convention in the parking lot, where they came up with their own slate of delegates.
Exactly!!!! Finally someone who also knows the truth about what the Republican party is doing to Ron Paul supporters!!! and here is the proof of what actually happened....We need to get the word out about this!! 3 w's .policymic.com/articles/9163/ron-paul-delegates-arrested-as-they-win-a-majority-at-louisiana-gop-convention
Ron Paul is all about bring our country back to where it belongs...bring us back to the Constitution. Both parties are so far from what the people want or need. We need to start over.
Ron Paul 2012!!!
We must unite to replace Obama's govt-growing policies with Romney's govt-growing policies.
If the people want Paul, then the delegates should give him the nod. Is there a list of delegates and how they vote with their names and addresses? I don't want to be responsible for voting for Mittens or Obama to continue to destroy this country with legislation being signed under darkness, those in power getting insider trading to get richer while the people lose their retirements and to pass legislation before reading it? Are you kidding me?
A vote for either of these warmongers makes voter a baby killer and I don't want a 100 year war on Terra! No more war! Ron Paul is only one who wants to bring troops home. So to those who vote for Mittens or Obama, you are a baby killer.
The problem is that in primary after primary, caucus after caucus, "the people" kept choosing somebody else, not Paul. So, not being able to persuade a majority of Republicans to support their beloved candidate (let alone the rest of the public), the Paulites are trying to take over conventions and manipulate the system instead. I'm hoping they succeed, simply because it would wreak chaos on the Republican party, appear underhanded and dishonest to the general public, and assure another 4 years for Obama.
There is an ENORMOUS difference between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney. GOP leaders for decades have been promising a politico-economic philosophy advocated by Ron Paul, and then, when they take office they promptly forget it. Romney is NO Ron Paul. He is as far from Paul as any left winger. The comment, "let's all be good sports and get behind Governor Romney" is just BS. The GOP, if it is to be a conservative party, needs to get behind Ron Paul, and get behind all of those GOP, TEA Party candidates running for office as well. I honestly see no difference between the old RINOs and the Democrats except hot air.
The irony is, to the bible thumping social conservatives, you and your fellow Libertarian Republicans would be considered RINOs. The Ron Paul positions on War and Legalizing Drugs are considered heretical to many devout Teapublicans.
The Republicans are funny, they thought they could co-opt the Tea Party and the Christian Taliban and instead they were co-opted by them. Less govt not more and with your moral police it is more govt. Got a point about war-mongers, Mitt is Bibi's puppet.
Party elders were astonished at the shenanigans in Oregon. Some of them stayed beyond the improperly terminated meeting I attended and voted on alternative delegates even though the party elite intended to ignore the votes. They could not have us arrested. The Republican establishment does not control the police department here. The party elite convened a closed meeting to appoint their friends and family as alternate delegates. I am not sure if the legal process here can address this before Tampa. No broken bones, but I can tell you, it was ugly for those who care about inclusion.
Did the author here know what happened in Louisiana? Has he seen the video? If he has not, I hope he will look.
Ron Paul has a chance to win Nebraska, Win 5 states and be one of the nominees. We the people are behind you. Only in America, can dreams come true; truth liberty and freedom.
Don't get "We the people behind you" shi* start. NOT every body is NOT in LOVE with that old fart. He is NOT going to win. Face the fact jack. Once his term is up and he is heading to the hill to be with his hooded friends. And that is a fact jack.
face it folks-all the candidates pretty well SUCK!
At the June 2 Louisiana GOP convention in Shreveport, 118 of the 180 delegates were Ron Paul supporters. When the majority of delegates voted to remove the state party chairman as acting convention chairman, the acting convention chairman refused to step down and had rules committee chairman and Paul supporter Alex Helwig forcefully removed from the room by the off-duty uniformed police officers hired as security, breaking a couple of Helwig's fingers in the process. A majority of the delegates turned their backs on the table where the acting chairman sat and elected Henry Herford as convention chairman. Security removed Herford, dislocating his prosthetic hip in the process. For McGrain to cite the experience in Louisiana as evidence of the need for more security is both ironic and ominous.
As Herford was being prepared for transport to the hospital, another chairman was elected by the majority and this group approved a slate of candidates dominated by Paul supporters. The state party chairman and the small group still facing his table voted for a different slate. Anthony Terrell must accept that the Paul-dominated slate is the legitimate one since the article lists Louisiana as one of the states with a majority of Paul supporters.
So what "arcane rule fight...led to a brawl in Louisiana"? Is the rule that a chairman can be elected or removed by a majority of the delegates present an arcane rule? Is the approval of a slate of delegates by majority vote an arcane rule? What's wrong with you mainstream media reporters? Are you idiots or eunuchs?
MSM isn't interested in hiring anyone with journalistic skills, obviously. Looks (for TV) and the ability to read what you're told is all one needs.

Interesting to see your comment on Ron Paul / Rand Paul. We Alaskans have the same scenario going on here. We used to have a gentleman in our legislature that was a concerned conscientious person that looked out for the people of Alaska. Then along came his son, a dyed in the wool Oil man, dancing to the strings of mister big Oil. How did he get there, that is an even better story. He was Lt Governor to princess Sarah " who became governor due to the fact that sex sells; no matter how you butter it" and when she decided to abandon us for bigger and greater fame moved up to become our governor. LUCKY US
What happened to Colorado? Last time I checked RP had 18 delegates to Romney's 16 (and 2 for Santorum)
Santorum got 6.
Romney got 13.
Paul got 0.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_Republican_caucuses,_2012
Clotho - What you're referring to is the useless caucus results...same junk the news, MSM, and AP keeps ramming down our throats. The state convention results were different. (The way I understand it) We really don't know what Colorado has, as they're 17 uncommitted there. There are reports, those 17 are in fact RP delegates. In other words...we'll see what happens....howev, correct me if I'm wrong.
Not about to say I'm "all knowing" on these issues.
So it has come to the point that we need extra security guards to intimidate anyone who looks like they might support a candidate other than the guy the party leadership likes? I was going to say "the officially endorsed candidate", but he's not even that yet. Wow. I thought we lived in a Republic, where the elected officials represent the people, but I guess we can't even get candidates that represent the people. "Ron Paul's Last Stand"? At least somebody's taking a stand....
