CORAL GABLES, FL -- Sen. Marco Rubio kicked off his bus tour on Saturday with an aggressive swing through southern Florida, meeting hundreds of well wishers who told him that he is the person they would most like to see in the White House.
Sen.Marco Rubio says President Obama 'shoved immigration policy down our throats' and that it was an election-year stunt. Rep. Xavier Becerra joins Ed Schultz to discuss Sen. Rubio's comments, and the overwhelming public support for the President's action.
No, he's not running for president -- yet. And even though the Florida senator will spend the next two weeks in swing states like Florida, North Carolina and Virginia, it is not for any campaign, but a book tour to promote Rubio's newly released memoir, "An American Son."
But that did not stop his fans in the Sunshine State from telling him how much they hope his political aspirations extend beyond the Senate.
If you ask Rubio, he's not working towards any other title than, perhaps, "best selling author." But hopping out of a bus emblazoned with his name and picture to sign books, greet potential voters and hold babies has a distinct campaign-like quality similar to what Floridians experienced just a few months earlier when then-Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich were slugging it out ahead of the state's primary.
It may be part of the reason why many who showed up to the four book signings throughout Saturday seemed to have dual purposes: meet the senator, then tell him how much the country, not just Florida, needs him.
"The future president of the United States is here!" yelled a woman standing in line at the Miami Barnes & Noble waiting to get her copy signed.
Rubio put down his black sharpie briefly to glance behind each of his shoulders. "Where? I don't see him," he responded.
Swatting down one of the day's many questions about the prospects of him becoming Romney's running mate, Rubio told a gaggle of reporters, "We're not here to talk about that, we're here to talk about the book."
"Talk about 2016," yelled a supporter standing by at Books & Books in Coral Gables.
The release of Rubio's memoir comes in the midst of Romney's search for a vice president. Rubio is the only candidate that Romney has admitted is being vetted after the Republican nominee refuted reports that Rubio was not being considered. After his election in 2010, the former Florida state legislator quickly rose to become a favorite amongst tea party conservatives, and this year has been frequently cited by members of the GOP as a top choice to join the ticket.
The autobiography was originally scheduled for release in October, but was pushed up, a move that some speculate had to do with a competing Rubio biography from a Washington Post reporter and an interest in being able to take advantage of the headlines he is drawing as a heavily talked about emerging leader in the Republican party. But the senator countered that the earlier release was more a product of convenience based on his schedule and being able to complete the work more quickly than originally anticipated.
"When the book was ready to go, we released it. So you release books when they're ready. Obviously the longer I wait, the more things happen, the more I have to add to the book," Rubio said after a signing in Fort Lauderdale.
The son of Cuban immigrants said his autobiography is not meant to be a political one, rather "a tribute to the American dream." But speaking to reporters at each of the signings, he did not shy from repeating some of his recent attacks on President Obama.
"He wants to use immigration as a Republican vs. Democrat issue and vice versa," Rubio said of the president. "That just makes it harder to solve.”
On the recent Supreme Court decision regarding the Affordable Care Act, Rubio said, "If you read what the chief justice arrived at, he's basically saying that the Congress now has the power to require you to buy running shoes as long as they tax you if you fail to buy it...If Congress can you make you buy something and penalize for you and tax you for it if you don’t, what powers does Congress not have? Is that really the country we live in?”
But by and large, as much as both supporters and media have wanted to shift the focus from his book to his future, Rubio has tried to keep the conversation about "An American Son." He began his book tour in friendly territory around his native city of Miami. At his final stop on Saturday in Coral Gables, he piled out of the bus with his wife Jeanette Rubio, their children and scores of cousins, nieces and nephews. It is a family, Rubio says, that represents the best of America.
"It's not just my story," Rubio said of his memoir. "It's the story of my grandparents and of my father and my mother and the sacrifices they went through so they could give us the chances they never had.”

I've experience the real republician politicians years ago. This dude is not a true republician. He's a tea party dude only. Koch Brothers will lose in the end on trying to buy America for their benefit , through their so call tea party dudes.
Rubio spews propaganda (talking points,) that isn't even loosely based on the truth. I don't think 2 Mormons on the ticket is going to be a winning strategy for the Repubelickin Party.
Rubio's a joke. I hope they put him up for VP.
He's about 5'2" and just like Sarah Palin, he can't think on his feet.
5' 2"? I didn't think that stacked stupid that high...
Most people feel the need to "write a book" to rationalize the past and reinflate their ego. I doubt this book has any substance and leaves out free personal dinners using the State of FL card credit card. It's called selective memory and writing.
Actually, I think I will take a page from the playbook of the typical juvenile Republican message board poster and start calling him "Micro Rubio"
You heard it here first!
I've seen Rubio in a few interviews lately, I don't think that he is ready for prime time yet.... He reminds me of Quail when Bush one was running...
Aren't they all? Doubtful this would become a "best selller," but teapubs like fiction, so maybe i'm wrong.
Thing is, Romney being this great business man and all is probably waiting on the highest bid before chosing a VP. Think about it, instant fame for the chosen, just look at Palin, shes famous for no reason at all.
koch bros employs 65 thousand people.
Wow, this is quite the liberal circle jerk going on here.
Is this what you do in public; just sitting around with other like minded people ridiculing others for their height and other nonsensical things?
Why is the left so vile and bigoted? It cant be good for your health--seek help!
Rubio compares 'healthcare' to 'running shoes' - this just tells you about the 'intellect' of a rising Repugnant star.
So when an uninsured person has a hard time taking care of his beloved ones and finding an affordable venue, all he needs to do is to the supermarket and buy the running shoes, or something similarly easy to obtain.
Sure all of you want him to be in the White House, as VP, the same way you wanted Palin in the Neck.
Uh-huh - sure it was. More likely, it had everything to do with having to rewrite his made up stories about his parents emigrating to the country, not to flee Castro as originally claimed and exposed as a fabrication, but for other personal reasons. Talk about AWKWARD!!

To defeat your enemy, sometimes you must become your enemy. Nobody is as vile and bigoted as the GOP/Tea Party. You'll get dizzy from all of that spinning, elliot.
WSJ CHIEF ECONOMIST: 75% OF OBAMACARE COSTS WILL FALL ON BACKS OF THOSE MAKING LESS THAN $120K A YEAR
By: Jim Hoft
Such contempt for other humans, for what? Not thinking the way you do? That is bigotry.
Not allowing people to think on their own or chastising them if they do. That is bigotry.
Subjugating all people of a particular race you deem should all think one way. That is bigotry.
The fact that you positive liberty folks hijacked the term liberal from negative liberty conservatives is laughable. Everything is political for you, especially when you can slap your name on it and tell people that you did it for them (which is as far from true liberalism as one can get). Liberal used to stand for liberty, now it just means liberal amounts of government involvement in our lives.
Today's liberals are all about power and control over others by dependency. If one doesn't want to take part in their power grab, one will then become the target of relentless bigoted attacks.
Get well soon.
Priceless coming from someone supporting the party that HATES public employees, HATES gays, HATES non-whites, HATES non-Christians, HATES women making their own decisions (folks, that is just a small list of their broad list of HATES). Interesting argument you feebly make - you are a bigot if you abhor bigotry. Hold up the bigot mirror Elliot, and explain your way out of that one.
If you want to talk about power grabs. What about the republicans thinking it is their right to be in charge of women's bodies?
Where is the liberty or small government when states have mandated unnecessay medical proceedures so a woman can access her constitutional rights.
Where is the liberty when Mississippi can outlaw abortions for all women in the state even when the state had a chance to vote they voted against the personhood law and men in the legislature being in charge of a women's body by huge margins.
Then the true end of freedom and liberty is voter suppression. Just because the republicans have stated that voter suppression is, they think, their path to victory. Why would anyone with a brain think that republicans care about freedom and the right to vote in a democracy when we all know that republicans are all about a power grab?
Even after you watched the republicans break our government, you want to blame President Obama because with the republicans obstrution he couldn't fix the mess they left fast enough.
Don't even get me started about the republicans relentless bigoted attacks.
Simple.
I don't hate public employees; I simply recognize that they cost more than they contribute in society.
I don't hate gay people; I don't care how you live your life as long as it doesn't infringe upon mine.
I don't hate non-whites; I believe and follow Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's words.
I don't hate non-Christians; I am not a religious person but I respect anyone's choice to be religious.
I do not hate women making their own choices as long as their choice doesn't come at a cost to others.
As you can see, I don't care what anyone else does with their lives including their sexuality, business, money, vote or opinion.
Ahhh a book tour..... I think I'll wait till it ends up on the 10 cent table at a nice elderly woman's garage sale.
Republicans have been effective in spreading their falsehood, such as government taking over our lives with healthcare reform.
First of all it's not true. Healthcare reform will empower even the poor who have not been able to afford care for themselves, so they can lead a productive life, contrary to Republican expectations.
Second of all, it's true, because the government wants to have some control and free you from too much control by corporations (insurance companies bent on more profit, not better service). This is to avoid insurance companies from running amok.
But the Republicans have spread their vicious rumour so effectively that even those who will benefit from healthcare reform have come out opposing the reform - hilarious
The nasty hatefilled liberals are out and about today spreading their lies about anybody not liberal. This is nothing new, in fact it's become so common place that liberals are mundane. I'd like once, to see a liberal say something truthful, or at least something without calling someone else a name. I guess it's not going to happen because it's a known fact that liberals are running scared. Liberals don't think so, and that's the beauty of it. Obama is screwing up so bad and losing his support so fast that even hardcore democrats don't even want to go to the biggest party in 4 years, the convention.
The proof is that democrats/liberals don't even brag about their man Obama... all they can do is attack the opposition. If Obama was such a good leader, liberals would be puffing their chests out, citing all the good stuff Obama has done... but they can't. Even liberals know Obama is a complete and total loser.
How the hell is giving a poor person a fine for not having health insurance going to help them?
This is all done in the hopes of lowering the cost of health insurance. How is guaranteeing that everyone will be buying a product going to lower the price? Now providers don't have to compete and just sit back waiting for the government to force another "customer" through their door.
elliot - if you don't understand the law, you really can't comment on it - at least convincingly.
Covering all is a positive good - equality for all - a constitutional principle
Market is upheld in the law, instead of allowing insurance companies to impose injustice on the poor and others with pre-existing conditions.
A tax is a token, a small fine, but is to raise some more money to cover the cost arising out of uninsured people getting care. When an uninsured person gets care, the cost is covered by hospitals, government, and ultimately the taxpapers. It's unfair, so now a tax can at least raise a bit of money for that.
...and many other benefits...
If the poor aren't already covered under medicaid, the act broadens medicaid so they can get insurance. Included in that 'poor' figure are the low wage working/non-working kids (18-26) that can now qualify to be included on their parents insurance. If those two groups are covered, they pay no fine. Get it?
Your posts clearly indicate you refuse to educate yourself on the benefits of the law - rather you only interested in posting your whines and rants.
And?
Roughly 85% of Americans make less than $120k a year, which means they'd be covering slightly less than their collective health care tally. Sounds about right(leaving alone for the moment how wealth is disproportionately accrued in the first place of course).
@Pigotry - I would add that there are two types of uninsured. Those willfully uninsured vs. those that are unwillingly insured. The unwilling insured are the types that want insurance but as you mentioned, cannot buy insurance due to low incomes, pre-existing conditions, lifetime caps, etc. They should not be lumped into the willfully uninsured, which are folks that can afford it but would rather take a risk and not buy it, thus leaving the rest of us to carry the load of their financial burden in the event of a catastrophic medical event.
The good part of the insurance act is that it helps get the unwillingly uninsured coverage, and fines the willfully uninsured for their lack of financial prudence.
[The nasty hatefilled liberals are out and about today spreading their lies about anybody not liberal.]
Brianb, find a job yet?
I hear John Boenher's job will be opening up soon..maybe you can submit your resume...or do you just prefer to sit home collecting unemployment while you scream "HANDS OFF MY MEDICARE!" with the rest of the actual deadbeats?
Brianb-999431
It looks like your entire comment is nothing more than hating. Try showing us the accomplishments of the GOP during the entire obama administration. Show us exactly what they have done to improve our country.
...... I'll start playing the jeopardy music now.
HMMM. Don't most American families make less than 120K a year? What was your point again? Am I missing something? Since when are right-wingers upset that middle and lower middle class bear most of the burden of anything?
Like the Healthcare Law or not the whole point is to make sure clinics and people giving care are compensated some amount of money. But I find it funny that Private Insurance follow Medicare Compensation rates, why? Because they are low.
So much contradiction in everything Political these days.
I don't see any clear leadership coming from either Party, just a bunch of Political speak. Nothing but a bunch of rhetoric and Witch Hunts coming from our 2 Party System. Why any of you would defend either Party is mind numbing..
Actually, SanityCheck, we're tired of two things:
1. Carrying your share of the income tax burden (top 10% income pays 60-70% of all taxes).
2. Your bitching and moaning just because somebody else is more ambitious than you.
Spider - Of all taxes? Check your numbers there sparky, I believe they pay lion share of income taxes, not all taxes.
Top 1%
$343,927
36.73
Sorry for some reason my post didnt save correctly
The numbers go
Top 1% Pay 36%
The Top 50% of earners pay 97 % of income taxes...
Just based on Rubio's lies about the IRS and ACA, I hope no program has him on to pitch his book, and of course I'm not buying his book.
RedDevPS -- The REALLY good part about ACA (there are so many) is that this is for comprehensive care, most specifically preventative care. This is the single most important differentiation from some of the crap Teapublicans have tried to pitch about just forcing those who can afford insurance to get catastrophic coverage.
I've had only catastrophic coverage and it is catastrophic to the wallet with nothing in return -- Insurance companies LOVE it! Why do folks suppose the US spends so much yet has such crappy care?
Preventative care is one of the reasons ACA will help drive down the cost of health care, but also improve our lives. The other, as already mentioned, is like Medicare (or the USPS), government offerings help
As I was saying...government offerings (e.g., a public option) help provide competition in the private sector. If the USPS was abolished, the cost of doing business with FedEx, UPS, etc. would skyrocket. But in the case of health care, this should not be for profit in the first place. Profiting from the sick is immoral.
Or contrary to Republican "strategery" to make yet another power grab for the 1%? Did anyone hear about the Texas GOP opposition to critical thinking in its education platform that will be in effect until 2014?
In other words, they are against critical thinking that would cause children to question authority, and religious teachings, and rightwing conspiracy theories. Heaven forbid these children grow up to think independently of the rightwing Echo Chamber and become...no, Democrats!
Amazing how the left calls the right liars when their president is one of the top liars in the country... and he does it so smooth... so slick... the braindead left falls for his lies every time. Clinton was caught in lies but the left cheered him on anyway. Apparently the left dismisses lies from the left but plays hash with politicians on the right that lie. Wake up! All politicians lie... but some do it pathologically.
Kevin, you forget the rich after getting tax cuts for the last 13 years, the republicans promised they would create jobs. No jobs but they sure are donating that tax cut money to republican politicians who have promised the rich permanent tax cuts if they will pay for the propaganda to convince the people to vote against themselves.
I just can't feel sorry for the rich, after all they made their money on us. In the not so distant pass, the rich were patriots and after World War II were taxed at 90%. Hardly the 14% that Romney paid and he wants to pay less no matter how many children starve.
If the taxpayers make 94% of the money then they owe 94% of the taxes. Why would that be unfair? You are still complaining about the people too poor to pay taxes while the republicans are trying to kill all the unions so more people don't make enough money to pay taxes.
The rich live in America too, if we have to suffer and sacrifice then they should have to suffer and sacrifice right along with us just like in the old days when we were all proud to be Americans together.
The republicans think there are two classes:
The rich who deserve to pay a smaller percentage of their pay to taxes and then get to spend more in elections spreading propaganda to benefit them only.
The poor who have no rights at all due to they have no money to bribe the republicans. If the poor speak up in any way it is class warfare.
VOTE FOR FAIRNESS....VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT 2012
Vote all liberals out of office in 2012
Why do people buy these books and make these azzholes rich?
Wait for them to hit the 99 cent stores before buying them.
Why give your money to read a book on an azzwipe you already know is an azzwipe.
[Vote all liberals out of office in 2012]
So, Brianb...what's YOUR definition of a "liberal"...do you actually know what a "liberal" is, or are you one of those ignorant individuals still stuck on stupid from the 1960's and STILL have no clue? You throw the term around as if you know what it means, or is it just an attempt to wind the rubber band...
My, how far you have fallen, Brian...
It looks like your entire comment is nothing more than hating. Try showing us the accomplishments of the GOP during the entire obama administration. Show us exactly what they have done to improve our country.
Remember it was Obama himself that said Republicans would have to sit in the back of the bus.
Come November he can sit with that other one termer Jimmy Carter
old fat guy-1144960
You mean Obama also said this:
Try the entire context next time.
Obama/Biden 2012
[Remember it was Obama himself that said Republicans would have to sit in the back of the bus.]
It's so easy to parrot Fox "entertainment news" headlines, isn't it...Fox "news" has become the National Enquirer of the entertainment industry.
Will George H W Bush be there too?
Its about time...
The entire context would include Bush's 5.3% unemployment this nation enjoyed prior to Pelossi and Reid coming to power in 2006.
Of what progress do you speak? Inflation? Unemployment? Healthcare costs? College costs? Homeownership?
5.3% unemployment is something he can only dream of
I am going to keep posting this until it soaks in with the RWNJ's.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/06/health-care-law-mandate-tax-how-many-people-affect/
The health insurance mandate upheld by the Supreme Court will impact roughly 26 million Americans, or 8 percent of the population, according to a recent study by the Urban Institute and an independent analysis by MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, who advised both Mitt Romney and President Obama on health care law.
Those individuals will be required to obtain coverage or pay a fine starting in 2014.
Not everyone will be forced to pay out of pocket, however. Here’s how it breaks down – courtesy of the Urban Institute:
– 8.1 million will be eligible for free/close-to-free insurance through expansion of Medicaid under the law.
– 10.9 million will have to purchase coverage but receive subsidies to help with premiums
– 7.3 million (2 percent of population) will not be eligible for any assistance and will simply have to buy a plan or pay the penalty.
Look at it the other way, the mandate will not directly impact most Americans. Two hundred fifty million out of 268 million non-elderly folks, or 94 percent, of Americans already have insurance coverage through an employer or the government and don’t face the penalty or having to buy a new plan.
old fat guy-1144960
Its about time...
Source? And how come this wasn't part of your original comment then? See,s
Sources? can you post some sources to justify this information or do we take your word for it.
Bush was an will always be a failure. Weapons of mass destruction are where?
Obama isn't doing everything right, but we are better with him in the WH.
Straight from the AP
"He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress has been made, he said, “we can’t have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”
There you go Burning man
"Look at it the other way, the mandate will not directly impact most Americans. Two hundred fifty million out of 268 million non-elderly folks, or 94 percent, of Americans already have insurance coverage through an employer or the government and don’t face the penalty or having to buy a new plan."
Do you know that my insurance will go up over 345% under this plan. See what you don't understand is that Obama will force employers to raise their coverage to the point that they are forced to except Obamacare. So let me ask you this, who pays for those who don't have insurance? Maybe the magic insurance fairy pays for it right?
– 7.3 million (2 percent of population) will not be eligible for any assistance and will simply have to buy a plan or pay the penalty.
That's called a tax!! hey let me know when the tax hits you!! LOL
[There you go Burning man]
Paul, I am more than familiar with the quote, but please point out where it says anyting about sitting in the back of the bus...but then again you see the same thing the old fat guy sees, don't you.
As for your misconceptions about ACA, you owe it to yourself and your family to educate yourself.
rightisright-5861504
and Wal-mart employs over 2.2 million. Many of the employees make minimum wage and have no health insurance so what's your point??
RedSoxRule
you couldn't find a worse person to quote???? Hoft has proven that he has absolutely no vetting process for the sources he cites. Hoft is dishonest and the dumbest man out there.
Paul-Florida
and I'll bet most of those people are in FL and TX.
Hey, how does it feel to have a governor who defrauded Medicare? You people don't care that your governor stole from old people to pad his bank account?
How do you feel that your governor, who pays about $300 per year for his health insurance, wanted to increase health insurance on workers such as police officers, teachers and figherfighters?
"The entire context would include Bush's 5.3% unemployment this nation enjoyed prior to Pelossi and Reid coming to power in 2006."
So Old Fat Guy -- you tell us --- what legislation did Pelossi and Reid send to Bush (and he signed) after they took over Congress in 2007 that caused the worst economic decline since the depression. And -- I don't suppose you know that this recession started in late 2005 do you??
old fat guy-1144960
so did Bush since he took over unemployment that was only 4% and left it at about 8% and growing like mushrooms after the rain.
old fat guy, comparing Bush and Obama, who took over the country that was in a better position(low unemployment, low debt, balanced budget, no wars, money in SS fund, smaller government, etc)? Bush or Obama???
Also, if unemployment was so low, why did Bush create more government jobs while government jobs decreased under Obama??. Please tell me, how increasing (or decreasing) government jobs affects the unemployment numbers????
Mickey, NY
Isn't it interesting though, that Ruper Murdoch - the owner of Fox News - has no faith in Romney????And Fox News is Romney’s preferred network for television interviews.
elliot-3020456
and that would make you a liberal:
Liberalism is a political ideology or worldview founded on ideas of liberty and equality. Liberals generally support ideas such as constitutionalism, liberal democracy, free and fair elections, human rights and the free exercise of religion.
And all twelve of Bush's vetos came after 2006. So if he said no to to the Democrats proposals at every turn, who was actually shaping policy? I guess executive orders and reconciliations are OK if your guy is in office?
Also, his quest to get re elected by putting up the down payments for millions of minorities that couldn't make the mortgage payments is what collapsed the housing market. We paid 200 million a year for that pile of crap re election strategy.
No, that makes me a conservative leaning further to the right toward being libertarian.
Mike, Did you seriously just say that it was Bush's plan for banks to lower their lending standards?
Are you high? Do the names Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters and Bill Clinton mean anything to you? Just try for one minute to do some research into this. Bush was trying to stop this crap and Maxine Waters and crew started playing the race card saying he didn't want minorities in homes.
The outright lies of the left are astounding
Wrong. Liberalism is an ideology founded on anti-statism, individualism and meritocracy. Small r republicanism is founded on equality through government intervention. To see this you have to go back more than 200 years.
BS! Today's liberals only support the constitution when they can make it "evolve" to their liking.
Are you trying to call today's liberals Libertarians? Laughable.
Is that why you don't want Voters to show ID or dead people removed from voter rolls?
Except when you think they may be doing something you don't like, drinking soda, smoking, not buying insurance. Liberals are notorious for establishing a nanny state with its tentacles all over every aspect of our lives.
Seriously? All those atheists running around shutting down nativity scenes and Christmas tree displays?
Get a grip on reality man. You have been totally brainwashed if you believe any of what you wrote.
get well soon
Baylie...
You must be toooo young to remember Bush took over at thr DOTCOM and Cell Phone recession, followed by 9/11 melt down and due to the tax cuts kept unemployment.
There was no money in the Social Security Trust Fund when he came to office, SS has been empty since LBJ.
First legislation passed be Pelossi and Reid that caused recession was minimum wage increase. Worked then as it always does.
You do not have to be smart to be a democrat!
Old fat guy.
You have to have less than six brain cells to be a liberal.
If you have over six brain cells you come to a realization that they have no plan or ideas and you become a republican.
elliot - your ignorance is overwhelming. I don't hate public employees; I simply recognize that they cost more than they contribute in society.
Next time you need a policeman or fireman - make sure you let them know how little you think of them? Do you EVER think before you post your stupidity? Apparently not. Every post you make is predictable and laughable. I pity anyone who is so poorly educated that they believe the tripe you post.
Spider - Guaranteed I make more; pay more taxes; and are FAR more ambitious than an insignificant little right winger like you! Again, stupid is all the GOP has and every time you post nonsense like you post - it's very obvious!
Brianb - you're not even worth responding to (although I hope you've found a job - seriously, I do. I don't wish anyone being out of work).
Now little right wingers - try to grow a brain before you post again. You just show you totally lack any semblance of sanity!
Obama/Biden 2012
Is this the new normal? Write a book and run for president? Think I will write one and start a new party - the American Common Sense Party.
BB
Your constant hate filled statements about folks who disagree with you are becoming a bore - you are better than that. Guess you don't believe in Lincoln's better angels. Not all liberals are bad, just like not all conservatives are heartless. Let's, for once look at each other and try to find something nice about someone who is a little different from us.
Rubio-He is about respect, honor, and duty a thing most DEmoncrats know nothing about, but rewarding irresponsibility.
Carter and Demoncrats funded single pregnant women in '77=fatherless and rebellious and drug-pushing offspring. Now 2 generations strong-most end up in proson
billy Clinton and Reno got us into housing mess by threatening banks if they didn't give sub-prime loans
Obama=treats us as children and is destroying free-market system in U.S.
He will be voted out
All just happen to be Demoncrats!
Ed - First of all you have no credence by not identifying a party as Democrats - so you negate anything you are about to say because we know where you are
Now if you were a real adult and want to have a conversation between each ideoligies - Okay but your childish name calling is just that "CHILDISH"
It may be childish, but Demoncrats have demonized Republicans for years now. At the age of 63, I personally resent the Demoncrat idea that I don't know how to take care of myself and my affairs. That is one very good reason to vote all Demoncrats out of office; those of us who have a brain can proceed to use said brain instead of being constantly told that we are too stupid to care for ourselves and desparately need Uncle Sugar to provide.
Remember, government at any level is simply a gigantic money pit. It is just moreso when Demoncrats are in charge. More money is filtered out of our pockets and used to buy votes from people who are willing to be bought and enjoy living off the
publicDemoncrat tit.Government at any level has only two purposes: roads and defense.
Rubio was real responsible with the GOP credit card. Just the kind of guy republicans like...put it on the bill, then walk out without paying.
Hey Bob... no problem.... now that you're 63 you might just not want to apply for SS at 62 or 66 or Medicare at 65. I think that's a great idea! It's isn't roads and it isn't defense. We save money and you are happy. "I didn't think so!"....
Bob, you said you "personally resent the Demoncrat idea that I don't know how to take care of myself and my affairs."
Here's a thought for you on the subject of personal responsibility and affairs - In MN the Republicans managed to have an affair between the Senate Majority leader and an aide. As a result of the affair between two members of the party of "family values", the taxpayers of MN are paying bills for over $80,000 in legal fees, because the Republicans in the Senate "might get sued" over this affair by one of the parties.
So the "personably responsible" Republicans are suing because they screwed around and got caught, and are hiring lawyers to defend themselves because they are afraid of getting sued by one of their own, and we get to pay for it because the Republicans are living off of the government tit.
This is the same Republican party that didn't pay their rent for about 9 months, owes millions of dollars for bills due years ago, and still hasn't paid all of the counties back for the 2010 recount they insisted on. There's a whole lot of responsibility not happing with the Republicans.
That's right Bob in KC. When the air you breathe is toxic and the water you drink has human feces in it, don't complain that the government didn't do enough.
So much for the adage age begets wisdom. If the best the elderly have to offer is that governments sole purpose is to provide roads and defense, the adage should be changed to age begets gray hair, wrinkles, and feeble minds. Governments purpose is to provide what its citizens deem appropriate - whether that be opportunity, education, civil rights protections, or the myriad of entitlements deemed necessary.
Yeah, well - Republicans forced the country into many wars (Bush's) and forced many Americans to pay for those wars regardless of whether they like it or not. But those wars are for killiing people and imposing a huge tax burden on the Americans.
At least the heathcare reform and its tax are trying to fix health so more healthy people are there to reinvent America, and strangely more healthy Americans are also to be there for a future Bush to enlist to fight for wars.
WSJ CHIEF ECONOMIST: 75% OF OBAMACARE COSTS WILL FALL ON BACKS OF THOSE MAKING LESS THAN $120K A YEAR
By: Jim Hoft
WSJ?
Well, If you put too much confidence in Wall Street, then I guess the Wall-Street-induced Great Recession is a great thing.
Ed-1738538
Rush Limbaugh - prescription drug abuser.
Romney - A draft dodger (and don't worry, I know clinton did too)
Gingrich - Marriage is between a man and a woman, then another woman, then another woman.
Santorum - Women are not intelligent enough to take care of their own bodies.. so we have to tell them how they should do it.
Republicans on 'being gay and getting caught": http://badmouth.net/top-five-republican-gay-sex-scandals/
Bush - Lied to the american people about weapons of mass destruction. Costs trillions to pay for and forget the thousands of innocent lives lost.
Boehner - Cry baby who wont even support equal pay for women in the workplace, or allow raped/pregnant military women to use their insurance benefits for assistance.
Yep.... there is honor, respect, and duty in the republican party alright. They are just as corrupt as the dems. With one exception.. the dems NEVER claim to be the party of family values.
Itsabouttime - Let's put ALL the woes of the republicans on the backs of a few people. Considering there are millions of republicans out there, feel free to take a few of them and point your finger at them. You do realize the same things can be said about democrats, don't you, or are you just a blind partisan hack? Clean up the garbage in your own party before you try pointing out those in the other party that have faults.
Rush - prescription drug abuser.... how long ago? Did he admit it? Does he do it now? Prove that he's still abusing it...
How about your man Edwards? How many millions in campaign funds did he abuse?
See how easy this is? I could go on, but what's the point?
Grow the F up! We know the dems are so very proud of trashing family values... love the low expectations your party has.
Brianb-999431
Hmmm... reading with comprehension. Allow me to break down my previous comment for you. Perhaps will be easier if you 'read' slower and understand it.
1st sentence: Yep.... there is honor, respect, and duty in the republican party alright.
3rd sentence: the dems NEVER claim to be the party of family values.
Did that work? Hopefully reading slower would allow for easier comprehension.
P.S. The 'grow' up comment. That actually might mean something, if I valued your opinion.
Have a nice day! :-).
Brianb has a lot of time on his hands, and his posts show it. Seems he missed out on all of the 50,000 jobs John Boehner and McDonald's "created"...
Tomorrow's the 2nd of July, Brian...what time does the mail carrier bring your check?
Hypocrite.
1st sentence: Yep.... there is honor, respect, and duty in the republican party alright. - Read sarcasm!
3rd sentence: the dems NEVER claim to be the party of family values. You're damn right they don't.... in fact family values to a democrat amounts to a scalpel, a slice and one dead baby! That's the only family values they fight for to the core. Along with gay rights that can't procreate a single living cell. In fact, it appears that the dems are all for death and the death of our species.
What say you time?
LOL... still didn't read with comprehension.... missed the entire point, and still trying to use childlike comments to try and insult someone who doesn't respect your opinion.
The dems never claimed to be the party of values and certainly have their own issues. However, I have yet to see a dem tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.
Try SCOTUS ruling ROE Vs Wade
Or protect someone's heterosexual rights to discriminate against gays/lesbians, even though they pay the same taxes. Must be terrible for married couples who cannot have children.
Try: Prop8 declared unconstitutional
Try: Doma declared unconstitutional.
SCOTUS will rule that it's discrimination to prevent gays/lesbians to marry.. when it happens, there will be nothing you can do about it.
P.S. Heterosexuals continue to 'make more gays/lesbians".
Spare us the righteous bleeding heart bull@!$%#, Brian... You could care less about dead babies, and you know it. For you, it's all just one convenient talking point...you're nothing but a hypocrite.
To be sure, democrats value family. Dems are willing to ensure the citizens of this country have access to healthcare vs. the let em die values of the GOP/TP. Dems are willing to ensure we an education system vs. the keep em dumb values of the GOP/TP. Dems work to ensure adequate police and fire protection vs. the GOP/TP values of let em burn. Dems support systems for retirees that provide adequate living standards vs. the let em live in squalor values of the GOP/TP. Dems support safety nets in times of need (unemployment is an example) vs. let em starve values of the GOP/TP.
Without all those democratic social programs, there would be very few intact families. Of course, we could also return to those grand old pre-abortion days where starving families and single mothers dropped off kids they couldn't support at the local orphanage or sold them off into indentured slavery. Talk about strong family values - make a buck by selling the poor tykes into slavery.
That should read: "65,000 people supply the Koch brothers with income."
Anyone who believes the Koch brothers "employ" (read:exploit) people out of the effin' goodness of their hearts is living in a goddamn fantasy land. Pure cost / benefit analysis. Anyone not producing more income than they're paid is an economic drain.
It is allllll in how you couch things, and Democrats need to get as good at this as I am.
I see ol' Brianb is getting his usual thread spanking...once again. That boy is really into pain.
You should strive to stay more current Brian...evidently you didn't hear that a jury acquitted him of those charges...must be two weeks ago or so now. Tsk...tsk...
Your statement reminds me much of all the caterwauling, sobbing and handwringing coming from the right about how Roberts voted on the Health Care Act. Calls for his impeachment, Congressional R's moaning and groaning about it, Limbaugh professing he's stunned by Roberts ruling, Beck's T-shirts proclaiming Roberts is a "coward". Well, if anyone can recognize a coward, it would have to be Beck...there's one staring at him every time he looks in a mirror.
Face it, the R's and Conservatives thought they had it in the bag based on the way the SC usually rules on issues, but Roberts stepped up and showed some courage, probably anticipating full well the onslaught of hatred that would directed his way by mouthpieces like Limbaugh and Beck.
Now...if they'll just review the damage the Citizens United ruling is causing American politics...
For Bob in KC:
Wouldn't that be akin to the efforts by multiple Republican state legislatures to interfere in the control a woman has over her own body? It seems they don't think a woman can see her way straight to take care of herself. I personally resent that these Republican-dominated state governments think they have the right to dictate what a woman can do concerning her own health issues. These "laws" brought to you by the party who is forever touting how much they want the federal government OUT of peoples lives??? Do you see the hypocrisy here?
elliot:
How very, very true, elliot...this is EXACTLY the type of behavior the right-wing is demonstrating when they get all teary-eyed about Roberts' decision on the ACA. Seems the NRA is guilty of such tactics too when they announce that they'll be "scoring" how Congress votes....don't want to vote their way? Watch out for the landslide of money that will be showered on their opponent next time around. But your observation was correct, although you evidently didn't realize the double-entendre of it all.
Brianb-999431
and all the woes are the leaders of the Republican Party - chosen by the Republicans to represent them
again, all the hypocrites were CHOSEN by people who claim to be holier-than-thou
again, Bill Clinton - as flawed as he is - never pushed his hypocritical, religious views on everyone else.
Romney - the 4x draft dodger - criticized those who opposed the war!!!!!!!!!
Gingrich - the mass cheater - criticized Clinton for having an affair!!!!!!
Get my point?
brian
Keep kicking them buddy. Maybe the truth will sink in some day but I think your wasting your time.
You can teach a pig to sing easier than you can teach a liberal right from wrong.
They do not have the capacity to learn. If there was a law about stupid people voting we would not be in this mess.
rukidding - apparently you have no capacity to learn since you keep posting the same drivel every day. Pity you didn't make it past 5th grade!
Obama/Biden 2012
Write a book and run for president. Guess that is one way to spur sales
Did he misspeak about anything else in the book...
The right wing says that Pres. Reagan's economic policies weren't equated into economic success until the 90s because those things take time to work. The right wing also hates Pres. Obama to the point where suddenly the rules have changed and now economic policies are supposed to take effect immediately. President* Bush gave us 8 years of crap and the Pres is dealing with the worst congress ever in trying to get things done.
But he promised us all would be well in 3 and 1/2 years or we should vote him out of office. I don't see where everything is well.
The mentality of it's the Republicans fault or it's the Democrats fault or it's Congress's fault has to go. People have been out of work for years and not many care about excuses or blaming. It's time to get the job and until this divided country unites everyone will point fingers until the end of time.
That's a pipe dream IXLR8. Partisan politics is as old as this country. Just remember, this current crop of congressional Republicans, through one of their leaders Sen McConnell, publicly stated that their one and only goal is to make President Obama a one term president. Doesn't sound like they're ready to work with anyone anytime soon.
Gotta agree with you tonybeeerm, back in the day both party's representatives used to strut around like roosters, but in the end knew how to make deals (makes me think they knew how to be real buisnessmen). Now you have the tea partiests who act like children who have never gotten bast their "terrible twos"
Speaking of republican ideas, Mitch McConnell was asked this morning by Chris Wallace how he would insure the 30 million people who are being helped through the ACA if he were to repeal the legislation.
He couldn't come up with an answer. People with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied coverage with this legislation. That is a big deal.
Yet McConnell couldn't give an answer on how the GOP would insure they are insured.
No Republican can give an answer. If they didn't like this legislation when it was passed, they had ample opportunity to make it better. President Obama gave them that option.
They did nothing.
He made no such claim. He said 'improve'. Get a dictionary and study up on the difference. And Obama has improved the economy from when he took over. Using just unemployment - we have gone from losing 700k jobs per month to gaining anywhere between 100-200k per month. That is quite a turn around.
Hey Pat, how are you on this fine Sunday morning? I watched Boner on Face the Nation and he didn't answer one single question directly. Kept going on about common sense. These guys know they've lost the White House and Senate and are going to have to fight to keep the House. People are tired of their criticism. If they have a better plan, where is it?
Bingo tony. One of the commentors over @ The Obama Diary said this about Keith Olbermann this morning on ABC -
Keith O. on This Week was fabulous in support of PBO and ACA: He said that the main job of a president is to protect his people and Barack Obama has done this and critics who oppose ACA are on the wrong side. Yes!
Keith gets it. What he said is something that should be coming out of the mouths of every single member of Congress AND media, yet it was Keith who said it. He is so missed. Howard Dean was great and so wasn't Nancy Pelosi.
I tried watching Keith but just couldn't stand that round table with George Will and others.
These pundits are part of the 1% and it is so unfair for them to be sitting there lying about this legislation while real people have real medical concerns. They won't fight for those who need this legislation desperately, yet the same media have no problem selling wars.
I remember so well when Keith set up those health care clinics.
Sen. Rubio and the rest of the republicans will never ever fight for those who NEED this legislation. The bottom line - Americans won't go into bankruptcy should a family member get a serious illnesses.
You will never see Mitch McConnell or Sen. Rubio be concerned about them.
As Howard Dean said, that's not the kind of society we should be here in the United States of America.
That would impede their goal to ensure they are uninsured, after all.
Good Morning Pat!
Speakind of Howard Dean - he kicked some serious Bobby Bo Jingles butt on MTP!
Guess he got David Plouffe's e-mail... lol
Hi Feisty, Howard Dean made me so proud this morning. So so proud. Nancy Pelosi too, but that's nothing new. They are on the right side of the American people. As is President Obama.
Smart, decent people. Sen. Rubio IS NOT on the right side of we the people.
I would like to see Rev. Al on these Sunday shows as well as Keith and Lawrence and Rachel and Ed and Martin Bashir. They are the best of the best. I'm tired of the 1% getting their backsides kissed on these shows while the rest of us get kicked in the gut constantly.
According to a comment at the Obama Diary:
Kentucky: Number of uninsured: 640,000 state residents are uninsured, or about 15%.
Comment on Think Progress:
McConnell's vicious pledge, "We’re not going to turn the American health care system into a Western European system " may appeal to ... . But as intelligent people know "a Western European system" means a system of universal health insurance coverage whereby all the people are covered.
Yup.
May 29, 2012: Uninsured Florida Children Are Needlessly Suffering:
kidswellflorida.com
Take Vanessa Mishkit’s son, for example, who was born at 36 weeks with multiple congenital anomalies. He was not supposed to survive, but he did. The family was not eligible for Medicaid or any other assistance. Between the stay in the NICU, numerous subsequent hospitalizations, equipment and nursing services, he was dropped from one insurance company and not picked up by another because of “pre-existing conditions.” His million dollar limit was met before he was a year old. Many times, they had to choose between buying medicine, going to the doctor and putting food on the table.
The Mishkit family is just one example of parents trying to make ends meet to support their kids while being plagued with serious medical issues. Unfortunately, there are many more families in Florida facing similar health and financial hardship.
____________________
What about this Sen. Rubio? What are you going to do about it? Gov. Scott? Are you just going to ignore the ACA and try and repeal it?
What kind of decent human being would try and repeal health care? No kind. Just the GOP. Here they are in a position of power, to help those who need it, and they refuse to do it.
Of course, Rubio is right. Right now "everything" Obama does is to get himself re-elected, period. His boasting points will start off with Bin Ladin and not much else. I don't want to vote for Mitt, but I will vote for him, if Rubio is on the ticket.
Seriously?....you are falling for the media hype.....the same hype that brought us Obama?
Why does an inexperienced, unaccomplished, never held a real job minority candidate deserve these jobs? THEY DON'T !!
that is a totally incompetent and ignorant comment. Just letting you know.
My kids has worked more jobs than Obama. Just because you get a "free for minority" education doesn't mean you are qualified for the job
If Rubio was a gap toothed ugly slob you would never vote for him, so don't tell me it's his qualifications you are voting for.
I guess video killed the radio star, and any competent political candidates, too.
Yi seems the meaning of presidential campaogn the the gopers means "BOOK TOURS" now $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
*** Obama's 3 years
$5.2 Trillion in NEW debt, America's financial downgrade, longest period of above 8% unemployment, food stamps 110% increase, poverty levels record increase, gas prices increased from $1.82/gal to over $3/gal, driving a wedge between Hispanics and whites, increasing Americans on the public dole to 47%, driving black unemployment to 14.8%, half of all college graduates cannot find employment.
All in three years.
You should consider swearing off FOX NEWS...
Get an education. Have you ever heard of dynamics or inertia? Shrub and his cronies set the wheels in motion. It will take many years for things to stabilize.
why is it the right will bring up the , yes still awful, high unemployment record, saying people can't get jobs, then when people apply for benefits, berate them with a "why don't you go get a job?"
Lori - the neurosis of the right knows no bounds. Look at the Holder/Fast-Furious issue. In collusion with the NRA, the right screams 'no gun control laws', and so in Arizona, almost anyone can buy a gun and give it to a member of the Mexican cartel. Yet, from Fast-Furious, they are now screaming because the ATF did not stop the 'legal' sale of guns in Arizona, and to boot, have now voted to cite Holder for contempt. Can you imagine their poutrage if the ATF HAD stopped the legal sale of guns in Arizona? It does make it more understandable as to why they love flip-flop Romney. The right is flippy-floppy on every single issue they tackle.

He's following the Palin example --- get a whole lot of stupid people to give you a whole lot of their money.
rubio is an intellectually shallow lightweight. additionally, like arnold would say, he sounds girly-girl, obviously no alpha dog, whines. and enough with that bs story about his family. LOL
Rubio is starting to find out that the National Media is a little tougher than the Miami [hometown press].When they really dig in we will find out many undersireable things and habits of this so called Cuban Kooky.Lots of history in the Miami area that he hopes will not be devulged and stay in Miami. That isn't going to happen. His history WILL be made Public!!!!!!!!!!!
rubio is an intellectually shallow. and, like arnold would say, sounds girly girl, no alpha dog for sure. whine and whine. and please, enough of that bs story about the family, who cares!
Who cares!?!?!
HAPPY CANADA DAY!! :)
Talk about the Blunt/Rubio bill why don't you marco!
Go ahead and talk about all your t-potty backers and money, you hypocrite!
Tell us what the Republican party wants to do for immigration???? They have in mass backed away from any talk about dream acts or any real change, since their base hates all immigrants!
Funny, isn't it - Rubio was all for the Dream Act until democrats started to move it forward. Then he was against it, then he was for Dream-Act Lite, now he's against it? I can't keep up with that nitwit.
There's plenty of work he should be doing for those in Florida who have already elected him, and instead he's galavanting around the south promoting his book. Ironic.
Very good point. There must not be any problems in Florida since they can allow him to run around promoting his self inflating book. Instead of doing the job he was elected to do. If he was a democrat, the people would be raising holy he$$. But in the GOP eyes it's do as I say not as I do.
I want to know how this is not a way to address why he deceived Florida voters about his heritage and the way his parents "escaped Communism" under Fidel Castro etc. Total lie. Florida voters should vote him out on his ear for that. Media never seems to bring it up now. That is more than a mental lapse or amnesia. Does he support the head of the Mississippi Tea Party who yesterday called for the violent overthrow of the United States government? Really have to wonder about these people who support a lying weasel like this. To damn lazy to go out and check the facts and understand what the real world is about and what this country is about. Just buy into the good looks and the Koch Brothers mindless manipulations. I fear for the future of this country.
After seeing him on The Daily Show...
He's not stupid or crazy enough to get too mixed up with this current batch of nut-cases.
I don't necessarily agree with him, but at least he didn't appear to be crazy.
More like, just in denial.
No, he just thinks God tells him what to do.
Gee, another Newt Gingrich. Out there on the difficult Book signing tour, Life must be difficult Mr Rubio. The POTUS sets a moral and ethical example - he does not do book tours while acting as the executor of the US constitution. But you GOPers must need the extra cash eh?
Pathetic bunch of plutocrates, wannabe monarchs and destroyers of the democratic system as we know it.
Obama/Biden 2012
Hopefully, his book tour will result in his election, just like Cain, Palin, Gingrich, Trump and the other clowns in his Band of Failures.
I think we should play the Rubio speech about how much social security and medicare did for his aging parents and how it allowed them to live out their lives in dignity over and over. It was a beautiful speech with compassion for the old and needy. At the time he thought we should expand the programs as he could see first hand how good it was for his parents.
But now Rubio is a tea party darling and I suspect his parents are dead because now Rubio thinks that for the rest of us Americans that social security and medicare are bad and makes us weak as a people and a country now in his new speech.
We sure don't see the republicans in congress repealing their own government paid by taxpayers health insurance. If you want to end health care reform for the rest of us, then the only honorable thing to do is give up your own. If it is fine to live without health care then join the rest of us.
VOTE FOR AMERICA...VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT 2012
@Mrs. Spanky - hahah, you are hysterically evil. What happened, did the spanks take you to the local Outback last week, and forget to swing by and pick you up after dinner was over? Last I heard he ran off to Cancun to chase some tail.
@Americans First - what burns me is that Rubio's parents received the advantages of our retirement/medical systems without paying into them over a lifetime, and then has the audacity to suggest lifetime payers such as myself should received reduced benefits. Typical GOP/TP mentality - I got mine, eff you and yours.
Last I saw of him, he was shaking his groove thing in his apricot Speedo at the pool skanks!
Mrs.Spanky
Has anyone seen my layabout husband?
Always great to start the day with some humor!
I don't know who you are, but you just got my vote for the best post of the week!
But in answer to your question, we are happy that we have not seen him. But you may try the studio apartment he lives in where he holes up. He's the one cashing welfare checks and complaining that the government doesn't do enough for him. All the while he claims to be a lawyer vacationing in Cabo. How many successful attorneys do we know who would call themselves "Spanky"? How many successful attorneys do we know who have endless hours to spend here everyday?
I have to hope that "Spanky" has come to realize that his comments hold as much water as a sieve. Much the same as the republican ideology.
p.s. love the avatar that would be fitting for the wife of Spanky!
The guy is out of the country, and still you bash on him. Why not wait until he gets back so he can defend himself. That's the only decent thing to do.
You have heard of human decency, haven't you?
mrs. spanky - you're hot!!!!
And Spankme has? You may want to run that by him first, tata's
Are you talking about the same SpankMe who demeans & batters someone who works as a receptionist?
Cry me a river house mouse...
That didn't stop him from posting last week, bragging and providing a website link, where he invited anyone who could stomach it, to watch him spread his oozing mass across three lounge chairs and soak up the sun. Pity anyone using that link - they are probably still cleaning the vomit from their keyboards.
[The guy is out of the country, and still you bash on him. Why not wait until he gets back so he can defend himself. That's the only decent thing to do. You have heard of human decency, haven't you?]
Oh, boo effing HOO...the "counselor" wears big boy PullUps...he can take it...besides, he's a scumbag, plain and simple.
And if you believe his crap, there's a really REALLY nice bridge in Brooklyn for sale.
But then again, you're probably not a very good judge of people...
You know, you should choose someone to stick up for who will actually appreciate it, thetotas...the minute you say something he doesn't like, or if you disagree with him, he'll throw you under the bus too...
Happy trails!
I try not to judge but I am only human and at times I regrettably have. I was not sticking up for Spanky, nor does he need any help. I just think its wrong to attack someone when he or she is not around to defend his or her actions.
I forget this is a blog and nothing is off limits. You can say anything, safely hidden, behind your computer screen, in your cozy home, knowing that there will be no repercussions.
Does any one read these books that are hurriedly written just before election season? First, it was Herr Cain. Now, it is Herr Rubio. They all seem to hate the president but they are quick to adopt his framework. The only difference is that the president wrote his books much before his political career.
Uncle Tom Rubio, of the false history, is going on his Hispanic tour to tell everyone that the lion's den is full of amigos. Lying, lion, liar, si?
Book Tour, Really? Could you imagine if Obama went on a book tour. The outrage!!! "While the country is in the middle of..." "During the worse...", "while millions of Americans..." Republicans fake outrage would be every where.
I'd like to read the book. I want to hear what lies he comes up with this time about why his parents fled Cuba. I wonder if it had anything to do with very large sharks or alines from mars.
Why isn't he at work in DC trying to create the jobs he promised when he was running for election? A book tour??? Sounds pretty selfish to me. He is an active junior US Senator for cryin out loud. Isn't there some work to be done for the people of Florida other than wasting time and resources on the AG? Apparently, Rubio is in it for himself just like ALL the self serving moronic politicians that "serve" this country and its states. They serve alright...themselves, that is once they get in the club. Before that, they ALL promise everything their particular party wants to hear regardeless of reality or truth.
It is not Rubio's turn in 2012 but with all the exposure and attention, perhaps he is looking toward 2016.
Adler,
I hope he waits for 2016. The next four years will be a waste. If Obama win's he will continue to divide us, the House will dig in, and nothing will gets done. If Romney become president and the Democrats keeps its control of the Senate, it will be what we have now.
I will say that Romney and the Republicans better start talking details. I sick of hearing what they don't like, tell us how you will make it better, for EVERYONE.
A bunch of republicans got together on the day President Obama was sworn in and decided how they were going to obstruct his every plan and you have the nerve to claim that it is President Obama who is dividing us.
What if Romney gets elected then the house will do some work for America instead of putting all their energy into obstructing our elected president? Again, how is this President Obama dividing us?
You can count on no details from Romney. He has said he has lost elections by telling people what he was going to do and he wasn't going to make that mistake this time. But being he has hired most of the old bush advisers so far it sounds like bush policy only with bigger tax cuts for the rich and a bigger increase in the deficit.
Just like a zombie movie with the failed bush policies raising from the dead with Romney as the new puppet for Norquist.
Remember as you watch the hundred of millions of dollars of propaganda to convince you to vote for a republican who have promised the rich permanent tax cuts, the republicans refused to ask these same millionaires and billionaires to pay a small surcharge to put Americans back to work.
So have you bought the con to vote against yourself that the rich are trying to sell you? You have seen the news about Romney and the rich donating huge amounts to buy this election. It is not the people making pro Romney ads, it is the rich of course pushing tax cuts for themselves above jobs and the American economy.
VOTE FOR FAIRNESS...VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT 2012
You'll be waiting a long time for that to happen. It's abundantly clear they have nothing to offer other than criticism. The average American voter that doesn't follow politics closely is getting sick and tired of all the b!tching these guys do. They like a winner and people that get things done. And even though you don't agree with this, Obama gets things done. And with an 800 lb gorilla strapped to his back. The SCOTUS upholding of the ACA has swung the pendulum the other way and it's going to be very difficult for Romney to get the momentum back. And it was never their intention to make it better for EVERYONE. Only those that they pledge to.
tonybeeerm,
Time will tell.
As far as the pendulum swinging I agree, but in the other direction.
People are pissed off, they don't like being lied too. Remember what happen to George Bush Sr. when he said Read my lips, no new TAXES! One and done.
I think Romney is getting the message, we need more substance. Lets see how this week plays out.
that's what they tell you at Fox and the other right wing hack stations. In the real world, this is a definite Obama victory even better than the Bin Laden killing. The next set of numbers will tell. I see his approval rating jumping at least 2 percentage points.
They weren't lied too. Get it straight. The SCOTUS called this a tax. It wasn't set up that way. And besides, your boy Romney did the same exact thing in Massachusetts. He can't wriggle his way out of that one.
Good luck on that. He's had nothing of substance to date.
Well, let's see. Willard's in Israel shoring up his finances while the President visited victims of the Colorado fires. So who would you trust in an emergency?
As a lefty I have to tell you, Rubio would have made a good Dem. But as a repub he is peaking to soon. The test of time will take Rubio back down to earth and the far right's demise in this next election will be the end of the cute and cuddly little Mark Rubio. As far as a VP pick, NO WAY... the right could not be that stupid to repeat the same mistake they made with Sarah whatsherhoohoo......
This man is tethered to so many lies-I hope he is chosen. It will make the Republican defeat easier.
