Last night I watched Rock Center with Brian Williams.

I would have thought, on the day the Supreme Court handed down it's historic ruling on the Affordable Healthcare Act, the producers could have come up with more on the general topic, beside one hospital in Minnesota that allows bill collectors in the emergency room.

Granted, it's a horrific story, and it points out the desperation of hospitals to collect for their services, but why not devote the hour to explaining the Affordable Care Act and how it will effect every single American going forward? Whatever happened to the mission of informing the public of the FACTS?

The sight of Richard Engel galloping a horse through the desert in Eygpt was pretty cool, though. Not really informative, but entertaining.

I don't think they have gotten through the 2000+ pages yet and are able to explain it. And some of it, they probably don't want to expose........just yet. They need to wait until after the election to do that as when we all find out the underlying "additions" that don't have a thing to do with healthcare (ie. student loans being taken over by the administration) it may not bode well for the President or other Democrats in Congress. JMHO.

So instead of a bill collector there will be a person sitting there that says no your to old to get that done. No we do not think you need that bypass surgery because your over 50. Would that be a better program? It is coming now.

This law is horrible and I hope all you liberals who wanted this thing are the first to get denied because of your value to society.

rukidding47

Has that happened in Massachusettes? Because they have had this same law since 2006.

I saw a real live doctor from that state on one of the morning shows (sandwiched in between long stories about a coin-toss in sports and a new action-movie.) He said that medical costs went up in MA, after the law was passed, but by no more than other states during that same time. He didn't say anything about death panels. In fact, he said people were finally able to get medical help who were in declining health because they had been uninsured.

rukidding - you didn't actually make the comment that you "hope all you liberals who wanted this thing are the first to get denied because of your value to society" did you? You are possibly the lowest form of life I have run across in a long time. You don't actually have ANY value to any society.

To make a disgusting comment like yours shows how low the far right has sunk. I would not want healthcare denied to anyone - even a moron like you. I realize you don't understand but, as human beings, we are supposed to actually care about others. Let me guess - you probably call yourself a Christian, too. What a pathetic excuse for a human being you are.

What about l dont have money to pay now? or that l have a pre existing condition? l dont think it matters to old people, they already are taken care of through their medicare and Medicaid. All l hear from the GOP is if you dont have money just die, you dont deserve to live if you are poor or cant help yourself. As sort of society without compassion for others, one borne out of selfishness.

@revengeofpodus--you sound more like rush limpballs by calling the redhead a slut and typical of re-pubicans you don't know how to spell either. Instead of using the word "your" in your sentences, you should use the word "you're" or "you are". I'll let you off the hook on this one because I'm sure your little brain is about to explode after hearing the SCOTUS decision upholding OBAMACARE. I'm only sorry there is no provision to help with ignorance because I do believe you folks need all the help you can get. Stop running your mouths about a law you know nothing about except what you hear on fux "news" (lies).

I love nancy pelosi who calls the tax...."WASHINGTON TALK", or the people who call it a penalty, or a fine. Can't you say the word 'TAX' it's only three letters, not four......What are they so afraid of?....I'll tell you...TAX is like CANCER, it starts small, but in the end it's quite BIG.
