Subscribe to RSSA new round of NBC News-Marist polls shows President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney running almost neck-and-neck in three key battleground states, with Obama holding a slight advantage in Michigan and North Carolina, and the two candidates tied in New Hampshire.

In Michigan, Obama is ahead by four percentage points among registered voters, including those who are undecided but are still leaning toward a candidate, 47 to 43 percent.

In North Carolina, the president gets 46 percent to Romney's 44 percent, which is within the survey's margin of error.
And in New Hampshire, the two men are tied at 45 percent each.

"Everything is very close," says Lee Miringoff, the director of Marist College's Institute for Public Opinion, which conducted these surveys.
In 2008, Obama won Michigan and New Hampshire – which had been competitive states in previous presidential elections – by double-digit margins. And he carried North Carolina, a reliably Republican state since 1980, by just 14,000 votes.
In all three states, Obama's approval rating remains above water -- or right on the surface. In Michigan, 48 percent of registered voters approve of his job, while 42 percent disapprove.
In New Hampshire, it's 47 to 45 percent, and in North Carolina it's 47 to 47 percent.
Romney calls Obamacare 'moral failure'
As for Romney, his favorability rating is upside down in two of the three states. In Michigan, 37 percent say they have favorable impression of the former Massachusetts governor, and 43 percent have an unfavorable opinion. In North Carolina, Romney's fav/unfav is 40-42 percent.
The lone exception is in New Hampshire – which borders Massachusetts, and where Romney owns a home – it's even at 45-45 percent.
Mixed results on the economy
The issue of the economy is a mixed bag in each of these three states, as well.
Majorities say the country is headed in the wrong direction, but nearly equal majorities believe that Obama inherited the current economic conditions.
In Michigan, the president holds a narrow edge over Romney, 44 to 42 percent, when it comes to which candidate would do a better job handling the economy.
Romney, meanwhile, leads on this question in New Hampshire, 46 to 42 percent. And they are tied in North Carolina, at 43 percent.
"The economy plays both ways in all three states," Miringoff says.
Obama leads big with Hispanics, but they're not fired up and ready to go yet
In New Hampshire, adding Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) to the GOP presidential ticket doesn't improve Romney's standing in the Granite State.
A Romney-Ayotte team won the support of 43 percent of registered voters, versus 45 percent for Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
In a hypothetical contest for Michigan's Senate seat, incumbent Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow leads former Republican Rep. Pete Hoekstra by 12 points among registered voters, 49 to 37 percent.

And in North Carolina's gubernatorial contest, former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory, the Republican nominee, gets 43 percent, while Democratic Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton gets 41 percent.
These three NBC-Marist surveys were conducted June 24-25 by landline and cell phone of 1,078 registered voters in Michigan, 1,029 registered voters in New Hampshire and 1,019 registered voters in North Carolina.
The margin of error for the New Hampshire and North Carolina poll is plus-minus 3.1 percentage points, and it's 3.0 percentage points in Michigan.

Obamacare doesn't assure anyone of healthcare - only that they will be insured. Doctors are presenlty turning away Medicare patients in droves so how do these 31 million newbies expect to find one - especially with this bogus insurance that pays doctors so little? My nephew was told by one doctor that he is not taking new patients even though he has real insurance - not Medicare. My doctor has joined MDVIP which costs me an extra $1500 a year but limits him to 600 patients. So he has already dumped 3000 patients back into the pool. And this concierge system is growing.

Being rich has nothing to do with anything. Can we remember any of the Kennedy's? Romney has been successful personally, financially, politically, nationally with the Olympics, etc. This is a track record. I find it good that a businessman gets into the white house. Dare I say that Ross Perot would have done a good job had he not dropped out? The Mittster can look at what is working, what is not, and start scaling things back to a more efficient government without screwing the public. The one thing which people can't argue with is and I read this study once that once the average person creates wealth, the then turns to see how he can make a difference around him whether on the job or elsewhere. There is no one in the world that will convince me that a teacher/professor who is more of a legal theologists is better than someone with practical experience. People can go back and forth but the odds are will Mitt with his experience....with Obama...well, we have see what we have...The blame game doesn't work on either side...but the economy is what it is and Obama factually has only help one group..one...not all, but just one...the auto industry. Now great for them but that is not you or I nor our friends who might be out of work. I believe people will vote how they will, some openly, some blindly. But one thing is very clear. Our national debt is up, our spending is up, our job rates are down, or opportunities are down. It can get worse, but I bet you won't see Romney blame others for the problems. So rather than hold fast to a traditional party vote, try looking specifically what the person has done, by themselves, without blaming other groups or people and the really stand back and ask yourself if what we have is better than 4 years ago or do we need to take a different route. 61% say we are on the wrong track....that just tells me that people are only voting because they are hard core party members rather than just an American trying to make a choice.

Last year it was reported that military chaplains were being ordered by the Pentagon to perform same-sex marriages, even though it violates their faith. In response, thousands of military chaplains said that this was one order that they would refuse to carry out.
Then earlier this year, we reported on a new Pentagon order telling military chaplains that if they preached against sin, including homosexuality, that they could be charged with sedition and treason. It seems that these were only the beginning skirmishes in the militarys war on Christianity.
Last year, the group known as Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers complained to Air Force officials about the long standing policy of placing Bibles in on-base housing by the Gideons. They complained that placing Bibles in rooms gave special preference to Christians. In April, The Patriot reported that Air Force officials had caved in to the pressure of the atheist group and would be removing all Bibles from on base housing.
Just a few days after The Patriot posting, a spokesman for the Air Force Services Agency took exception to the report. Michael Dickerson explained that the Air Force had not caved in to the atheist group and that they were not removing Bibles from all on-base housing. What the Air Force had agreed to do was to eliminate Bibles from a checklist of 1,200 items given to Air Force innkeepers. He also noted that the Air Force did not place Bibles in rooms and that this had always been done by the Gideons.

Now longer will they be able to come to America, get pregnant and receive free medical assistance because they are not legal Americans which will make them think twice about coming here and trying to upend the American economy by getting pregnant numerous times and then hiding in the countryside while their little plan to cause economic chaos in America keeps Americans at odds dividing America so that they can slowly slip in and take America over.
Obama Care is going to cure the problem of illegal immigration by making Americans pay for their healthcare whereas the illegals will not have any means of obtaining healthcare because they are illegals.
Although Americans may think that by their being made to pay for healthcare is a violation of their Constitutional Rights it is not a violation. It is an effort to reduce the number of illegal immigrants that come into America each year.
Did you know that illegal immigrants cost America $100 billion dollars a year as result of revenue that is lost because they are paid under the table and do not pay taxes to the United States....which is real socialism if you think about it as they feel entitled to come to America work freely without paying as well as receiving free healthcare benefits that Americans pay out of pocket for.
Obama Care will weed these illegals out of the system permanently because if they are not able to use the system, especially the healthcare system because they are not legal Americans then they will not want to come to America knowing that they will not be freely exploit the system making the rest of America pay for their luxuries.
Obama Care is also a shield against Terrorism along the lines of Healthcare. If illegals are able to get free healthcare then so are terrorists who slip into America. Obama Care will stop them before they are able to make their plans to attack America in much the same way Obama Care will stop the hundreds of billions of dollars that escape into the underground through illegal immigration.
If they illegals know that they cannot get medical help because they are not legal citizens then their advance will be stopped.
I want to show you something based upon Obama Care being partly Constitutional and UnConstitutional.
The parts that are Constitutional are a positive or they go up. The Unconstitutional portions are a negative and go down. Each being their own block in the phalanx against illegal immigration and terrorism.
As you align the Constitutional Portions up in line with each other and the Unconstitutional Portions up in line with each other where the negative portions are behind the positive portions you can see the trap where those going after the Unconstitutional Portions between the two Constitutional portions are caught as the spears of the Constitutional Phalanx shred them as they fall for the trap. As they fall for the trap the two flanking Constitutional Portions then envelope those trapped in the Unconstitutional portion....just like the 27 Republicans opposed to Obama were trapped.

Good point. It iw why Wall Street went for Obama over Mccain by a 7-1 ratio in 2008. They tend to pay to the one they perceive as the upcoming winner. By the way, they have reversed that trend for this election.

With the Health Care ruling and fact there is a large majority that do not want Gov. taking over their health care I see Obama supporters voting their pocket books. Obama may feel he has won a huge victory however he pissed off millions upon millions of people working on a huge Gov. program instead of working on the economy.

While the preliminary and. if you get on Twitter at all, sometimes profanity laced chortling ensues over this SCOTUS decision, maybe the grown ups in the room need to step back and explain the implications of this bill. For example, middle class people like me will have to make some hard choices. We already pay $600 a month for insurance that has a $5000 deductible. That means that I pay more than ten percent of our GROSS income in insurance that we can't afford to use because we simply don't have the money to do all the medical tests and take all the medications. In addition we have seen rates rise every year. On top of this there is nothing that will drive down costs for insurance because tort reform was taken off the table as a bow to Trial Lawyers Association by Obama. So that leave middle class, middle aged folks like me struggling to decide what policies to drop. We have already dropped dental and vision. We can't even begin to afford disability. And yet prices continue to rise out of our reach in spite of Obamacare and because of it. For those like my 26 year old son, who can't find full time work, the cost of insurance, even with a $10000 deductible is out of reach. But he will get hit with a penalty if he doesn't take what will amount to one third of his income to buy insurance. He will be making choices between paying rent and paying for insurance. I promise you that once people realize that this is not the magic potion promises, and that the deficit neutral status was made up out of smoke there will be a price to pay. Hopefully that bill comes due in full on November 4, 2012,
Let me cut the fat from your insurance plan.
First look back through your family tree and find any traits associated with members of your family on either side that has had cancer or other diseases as well as wearing glasses.
If you build your health insurance care around the traits of your family and plan for those traits to re-appear in your family and cut the rest out then you should be able to reduce the amount that you spend on healthcare.
If your family has never had any problems with their visions for five generations it is an assurance that your family will not have vision problems.
Also when picking a spouse look into what the spouses family tree has gone through medically for the last five generations and plan for those traits to re-appear.
As for dental. If your family does not have any traits of past problems then you really only need immediate dental care in case the Myths should happen to show up one day and playing a trick on your child cause them to stumble and break a few teeth then you will be prepare for such a day.
Basically when building your healthcare look at the traits in your and your spouses family tree and build your defenses around it accordingly.

On the subject of "Offshore, in case you’re not aware, Romney was required to file a financial disclosure form, (a less detailed requirement than submitting past tax forms) when he filed for president. He argued that he should not have to release his taxes since the disclosure form revealed everything of any importantance. The problem is, there were 23 different investment funds shown on his taxes that did not appear on his disclosure form and 11 of those were in overseas, in confidential banking centers, conceivably a sign of what he's embarrassed to disclose…if the government can prove it was deliberate and not just a careless slip-up. The biggest concern is his Swiss bank accounts, one of the items not on his financial disclosure from 2003 to 2010, when his accountant closed. He closed it in the middle of an amnesty that the IRS had declared for owners of previously unreported Swiss bank accounts if they came clean, they would not face criminal prosecution for not reporting it in previous years (which was illegal - plus most weren't paying taxes on that money). Was the sudden shutdown of Romney's secret Swiss bank account part of this amnesty program? We can't know unless and until he releases prior returns, and by the way, he continues to refuse to do provide. Until the former Governor provides the 10 years of tax returns, he’s likely hiding something…mover, this doesn't speak well of his fiscal competence.

FYI if you think that you are being harassed by the government when you goto a government website from a public facility such as a library. Its not the government that is harassing you. Its those who hate the government that are spying on you with their Patriot Act mandated rights of collecting such information.
