STERLING, Va. -- Mitt Romney reserved some of his harshest criticism of President Barack Obama's health care reform law for the eve of the Supreme Court ruling that will decide its fate, labeling the law as "moral failure" by a president who chose to focus on healthcare, rather than jobs, at a time of national economic crisis.
"His policies were not focused on creating jobs. They were focused on implementing his liberal agenda. There’s nothing wrong with people having an agenda, but when the country’s in crisis, you have a moral responsibility to focus on helping people come out of that crisis," Romney said at a rally here Wednesday evening. "It was not just bad policy; it was a moral failure to put forward a piece of legislation that wouldn’t help Americans get back to work, and to focus the energy of the White House on Obamacare."
With the Supreme Court expected to rule on the constitutionality of the law – which includes the individual mandate -- on Thursday morning, Romney took the opportunity to batter the controversial law before a friendly, energetic audience, suggesting that Obama will spend a sleepless night tonight fretting about the future of the legislation.
"My guess is they're not sleeping real well at the White House tonight. That's the way it ought to be," Romney said. "And this is a decision, by the way, about whether or not Obamacare is constitutional, whether it passes constitutional muster. So we're all waiting to see how the court will decide, one thing we already know however -- we already know it's bad policy and it's got to go."
Romney went on to preview, as he did at a campaign stop in southern Virginia on Tuesday, his response to the court's possible action on the law. The former Massachusetts governor said that if the law is upheld, he would work to repeal it as president, and if it gets struck down, he would replace it with "real reform." Romney did not specify what such reforms would entail.
Democrats quickly pounced on Romney's critique of the law, pointing out that the federal law was inspired by Massachusetts’s health care law that Romney helped to enact, complete with an individual mandate similar to the one he now assails.
“In Virginia today, Mitt Romney cheered for a repeal of Obamacare, which was modeled after Romney’s own health care law in Massachusetts that he now runs away from," Obama spokeswoman Lis Smith said in the statement. "But Americans won’t be cheering for Mitt Romney after they learn that his plan for health care would allow insurance companies to discriminate against them if they have a pre-existing condition, kick their kids off their parents’ plans when they graduate, and charge women higher premiums than they charge men for the same coverage."

Actually Rick-546746 the far better solution is to implement the plan in "The Hunger Games" before anyone gets sick and costs a TEA party person anything. Win-win.
Military Members, Veterans, Military retirees; note that Romney PROMOTED THE DRAFT during the Viet Nam War, then skipped out to France for extraordinary lenth of time when church missionary tours were limited. When Romney came home, he sided with his dad that the whole Viet Nam War was a scam and that he was against the war.
Promoting the draft, while Americans were dieing, he skipped out, then says he wishes he could have participated. His whole life has been a lie.

I just heard Romney speak regarding the SC decision. He lied outright about what would happen to people now that this was the law of the land. How can he get away with that? Will one pundit, commentator, journalist, reporter, have the courage to call him on his lies? Why won't people play the video of him signing his own signature legislation in MA all the while calling the mandate wonderful, fair, etc?
How can people vote for this man?

After watching a 3 hours documentary on french tv about Global warming, which included interview with some of your most well known politicians, I found this post... You people better read it because we are going straight into the wall ! The whole world, IS ! Europeen scientists say that if we do not change our ways, we are doomed and all these topics you fight about, will no longer matter ! 2011 has seen the worst catastrophes and it is just the begining ! It is predicted that 5 years from now, the whole south west of the united states will go DRY !

I am a Colorado Native, with a college education in Earth Sciences and Environmental Studies. The big picture is that this is an in your face result of Global Climate Change that was predicted 40 years ago, and has been progressing through the entire period with extensive documentation.
If anyone needs to be held accountable, it should be propagators of skepticism, denial and the verifiable dissemination of misinformation, lies and the intentional generation of reasonable doubt!
There needs to be a new legal precedence set similar to libelous slander that allows for the prosecution of any person, to include corporations that contribute to the creation of false information, lies, distractions, obstruction and the delay of critical actions needed to save this Planet. The mass media should be considered an accessories and lose their broadcasting licences as a penalty. Opinions should no longer be able to trump science, facts, evidence, eye witnesses or the truth.
The billions in subsidies now given to the fossil fuels industries, which are the most profitable and destructive forces in the world, need to loose those every penny of those funds. Our tax dollars that have been hijacked for many decades now need to be used for renewable energy, R & D and the establishment of a loose/prevention fund to help cover the expense of the disasters we will be dealing with for a very long time to come.
2012 can mark a turning point, it can be the end of the world or a new beginning. We still can take control of our future and remove those in power that have contributed to the situation we now must deal with, or we can continue to watch what we once had slip away right before our eyes.
Just like the Republicans are focusing on their agenda of restricting abortion and reproductive rights. That's sure creating a lot of jobs!!!!

Romney served his mission in France, and was extended extra time there which was not authorized
under draft conditions.

So what, he promoted the draft under duress situation for draftees, before he left for France.
