Another set of numbers from our new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll: 60 percent say President Obama inherited the current economic conditions, compared with 26 percent who blame his policies for the state of the economy.
That's a slight change from Aug. 2011, when 56 percent said the president inherited the economy, versus 33 percent who singled out his policies.
Yet when asked in a separate question whether the president’s policies have helped or hurt the economy, 33 percent say they’ve hurt; 32 percent say they’ve helped; and another 32 percent answer that they haven’t made much of a difference.
The full NBC/WSJ poll -- which was conducted of 1,000 adults and which has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.1 percentage points -- is released at 6:30 pm ET.

Stop Obama's war on America!!!
Mitt Romney is secretly married to a duck-billed platypus named "Dagmar"!!!
(See, I can just spew out a meaningless rant, too! This game is fun!)
Red Sox, I thought I put you on "ignore"....doing it now....
Republicans dance naked at midnight and worship Satan....
Your right Da Noid....... it is fun to spew out meaningless rants!
As we entered the recession, as many as half of all mortgages in the U.S. were considered inferior and liable to default. This was a clear result of government housing policies to encourage home ownership, which resulted in a broad misallocation of capital, loosened mortgage standards, and created distortions in the real estate market.
On top of this, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) had an official policy of increasing home ownership by lowering mortgage underwriting standards. This had a significant effect on the quality of mortgages in circulation prior to the recession.
So who’s to blame for the housing policies that caused the recession? HUD was created by Lyndon Johnson (a Democrat) after passage of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Act by a Democrat-controlled House and Senate in 1965. The Community Reinvestment Act was signed into law by Jimmy Carter (another Democrat) after, once again, passing through a Democrat-controlled House and Senate. It would appear that Democrats are to blame
Another cause of the 2007-08 recession was banking regulation that a) concentrated mortgage securities with a small number of firms, b) offered implied government insurance on bad mortgages, and c) established accounting guidelines that allowed banks to significantly reduce their capital positions.
This is where Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac come in. Both entities, while technically private entities, made the federal government the implicit backers of every mortgage held. That implied guarantee was made explicit once they were bailed out following this latest recession

Stop Obama's "War" on America? Dude. Stop Obamas re-election, or stop Obama's Liberal Agenda. That we can deal with and is more appropriate. You know who wants to stop a war. The Syrian people. Stop Asads War on Syria. Stop Asad from Killing Babies. Stop Asad from genocide! That is real. You people are fat and happy in your arm chairs puffing up stupid hyperbole to suit your online fantasy novels. I hope obama wipes the floor on the republicans and this nonsense "keep the agenda rough" so he can lose policy. Stupid and frankly anti-American...
Yes, Obama 'inherited' a bad economy, just like Bush inherited the effects of 911 only months after getting into office.
The difference is that Bush made the economy much better, while Obama has made things worse. Here are some interesting stats from official government sources;
Under Bush, the average unemployment rate was only 5.33% over 8 years.
Under Bush, the economy grew by an average of 5.8% per year over 8 years.
Under Bush, the average Deficit was only $251 Billion per year over 8 years.
Stop the Republican effort of the last 30 years to install a plutocracy on behalf of the wealthy that own them.
Once again, proof the GNOP will lie, cheat & steal an election;
This weekend, Pennsylvania Republican House Leader Mike Turzai (R-PA) finally admitted what so many have speculated: Voter identification efforts are meant to suppress Democratic votes in this year’s election.
They are not even attempting to hide their objective anymore!
TOOL "Learn to swim"- Enema
Change the question to "Did Obama inherit a bad economy?" and I'd agree, but to try and dodge ownership of ANY PART of the current economy rates a gigantic fail with me.
The fact is Obama administration policies did little to end the recession he inherited and may have even prolonged it. Republican refusal to offer amendments or alternatives to Obama administration proposals also play a role in our current economic malaise.
This "news" site is such a joke. They interview 1000 "somebodies" out of 300 million in the US and have the nerve to say that the accuracy is "of plus-minus 3.1 percentage points."
Are there actually people reading this and believing it? The scary part is that there is.
Of course obama inherited the economy but in 3.5 years he has turned his back on thousands of family wage jobs that have been staring him in the face and there for the taking.
Instead he has focused and is focusing on green jobs that have not and may never pan out, and public sector jobs that put even more people on the dole.
Unemployment would be down to 6.7% right now if obama had not been in the way.
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't find their way out of a mirror.
Yep and 6 out 10 probably can't tell you who Joe Biden is.
Doesn't matter - at least 4 of the six will vote Bama.
So theoretically, 2 out of this 10 will decide the election.
Wonder if either will realize that the winner of the 2012 election is inheriting a much worse situation than the winner of the 2008 election as Roy's facts suggest?
If these 2 believe it is the repubs fault for obstructing, wonder if they realize not one dem has supported Obama's last 3 budgets either ... that there was bipartisianship on all major legislation - bipartisanship against Obamacare, against Frank Dodd, against Obama's jobs bills ....that there will still be repubs in 2013 - I wonder if they realize that if Obama couldn't do it then - aren't they conceding Obama still won't be able to do it.
I wonder if they realize that Obama said he would cut the deficit in half, yet the spending in the first 3 years ... created the 3 biggest deficits in history.
I wonder if they believe Obama's lie and bragging about him being the most frugal president - yet wonder how Obama can blame the repubs for obstructing him - not allowing Obama to spend more ... which is it?
Oh well ... well see if America has learned anything the last 4 years.
Apparently the American people don't have a taste for baloney, choosing not to swallow the Conservative line that the economy would be going like gangbusters by now if only we'd had the sense to elect a cranky old man who yells at clouds and an airhead whose only real talent appears to be inspiring naughty librarian fantasies among the Tealiban.
- the house (US Economy) is on fire (started in 2007 due to 6 years of Republican Policy)
- the firemen(Republicans) say that they will not put it out until the homeowner (Obama) is changed.
- the neighbors (US citizens) are suffering and in jeopardy of losing everything because of this inaction.
Any similarities here?
The President did not inherit anything. He campaigned for and won the Presidency after George Bush. If he did not want the job than he should have never run for office. Of course he can resign at any time. The President said that he would fix what was wrong in the economy no matter whose fault it was. He said that he did not deserve to be reelected if he could not fix the economy in three years. The President offered the stimulus bill and additional enhancements to federal spending as his solution to turning the economy around. According a report from Obama's own administration, unemployment has been greater than if the stimulus bill were never passed. So the stimulus failed to solve our unemployment problem. The Obama administration has done nothing to improve our trade deficit problem. The numbers just keep getting worse. The President promised that the 2012 federal deficit would not exceed 229.27 billion dollars yet his own White House is predicting a deficit of more than 5 times what the President had promised and is predicting more huge deficits each year for at least another decade. The President said that failure to control the federal deficit, as he has done, showed a lack of leadership. Let us all respect the words of the President. By his own words, he does not deserve a second term because he has failed to fix the economy. We should respect the words of the President by not relecting him. All Hail the Chief!
Red Sox are really White Sox dyed red. What does history say for those of yall that can't remember 3 or 4 years ago. We know the GOP like to re-write history whenever it benefits them. Just think the country would be out of this mess if it were not for the GOP and the Tea Party obstructing and philibustering every bill the President puts forth. So whom is destroying Americas?
Folks .. little inconsequential Jimmy in Seattle plagiarized his "piece" from this site: http://heathenrepublican.blogspot.com/2011/07/who-and-what-caused-great-recession.html
Time to stick the fraud on ignore. FYI, the original article has been broadly debunked as crap.
Longing for the "Good Ol' Days"??? Roy, I'm going to call you out for 3 reasons.
1. Unemployment rose 2.3% in 2008 and the total number of "long-term unemployed" (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) doubled from 1.3 million to 2.6 million in 2008.
2. Under President Whats-His-Face, the GDP shrunk 6.2 percent his last year.
3. The reason why President Whats-His-Face's deficits appear to be so small? He never included expenditures in Iraq and Afghanistan in his budgets.
The idiocy of you libs never fails to amaze me
Social mood directs the markets, economy, politics, culture. A president who takes office during improving social mood witnesses a rising stock market and a better economy. Then he is credited for doing a good job. He is likely to get a second term. A president who is in office during a bear market bears the burden of negative social mood. He looses office after first term. Here is how social mood writes the history:
www.tradingstocks.net/html/socionomics.html
We are riding a wave of decline in social mood that resulted in a bear market. Bear markets have a way of tarnishing the image of those at the helm. Had Obama been the president during a bull market, he would have been hailed as the great savior. Today's problems are not because of what we are doing today, but they are because of what we did for the last 50 years. Folks, there is not much Obama, Bernanke or anybody can do about it. Government does not have a magic stick to swing and change the world. We have borrowed for 50 years and spent and inflated prices and salaries along with it. When the pay back time arrives, it is not reasonable to expect that all will be fine. An entire generation borrowed from the future. We are doing the same. When the future arrives, we will pay it back. There is no way out of it. This is a mathematical reality. This is the Failure of fractional reserve banking and interest based monetary system. Banks create money out of thin air and they demand interest for it.
This new money inflates the money supply and makes it easy to earn. This is why the government encourages borrowing. Mortgage interest deduction from tax, sub-prime, no 20% down, liar loans were all by design to inflate the money supply. Cash for clunkers, 8K home buyer credit hopes to serve the same purpose. Obama is running around telling the banks to lend. Because government wants to inflate the money supply. Why? Because debt needs to inflate exponentially so that at a given time principal + interest of old debt exists and can be earned and can be paid back. But there is a problem. Debt cannot inflate infinitely because the economy cannot carry the burden of servicing debt. This is the debt problem that is the cause of deflation. Deflation is the reason why foreclosures happen, people, companies go bankrupt. Unemployment, housing are all due to deflation. The monetary system is prone to inflation and deflation. Interest based monetary system coupled with fractional reserve banking is destined for a deflationary collapse. All of these countries borrowed excessively from the future. Because their debt based monetary system demanded it. Now the future is here. Pay back time. But total money supply is less than total debt. How do you pay? In this environment, financial assets remain over priced. This is not the time to buy and hold stocks or go into debt to buy your home. As borrowers pay debt, there will be demand for US dollars. Everything will fall against the dollar!
6 in 10 people must have their head permanently embedded into their backsides...
Isn't it funny that now all of the little right wingers are screaming "no" "no" when the polls tell the truth about what American citizens know and believe. Yep you little righties, we all know who is to blame for this mess - created and fed by Bush/Cheney. And, we'll remember when we go to the polls in November.
Vote the GOP so we can strengthen the US and bring prosperity back!
314159 - no that would be those of you on the far right!
Obama/Biden 2012
Do you mean the latest polls showing nobama trailing by 7points?
@Insanity - you simply couldn't be more wrong... 'nuf said...
Oh yea, we wouldn't want obama to take responsibility for the past 3 and 1/2 years. What the he11 were we thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the liberal lies just keep on coming. Obama inherited his economy from his democrat congress. Congress appropriates money, writes bills, passes mandates, etc. not presidents.
Compare the dozen years republicans ran congress to the last six, democrats are a complete disaster. The problem with Obama is instead of reining in his fellow democrats, he cheered them on.
Also, instead of working with congress to fix the economy he blew all his political capital on Obamacare and ignored the economy. His own aids say this.
"The private sector is doing fine" tells you all you need to know about Obama.
The Republican Congress had the opportunity to lay this on President Obama. All they had to do is enact his policies. They did not, so the blame rest solely on their shoulders. To blame President Obama is disingenuous. Maybe if they had come up with some solutions that would have passed the Senate (that is the correct way to do it) we would see if their solutions worked. Unfortunately, they have none. The President of the United States does not legislate, that is Congresses job.
Tea Part...., you are long on left wing rhetoric but short on facts.
Bush inherited an economy that was weak and went into recession by Q1 of his first term, see below. In case you cannot comprehend what it says, in essence the events prior to W taking office were responsible, along with 9/11. However by Dec. 2001 GDP was + again.
2001 Recession
It lasted eight months (March-November 2001). It was caused by the Y2K scare, which created a boom and subsequent bust in Internet businesses. It was aggravated by the 9/11 attack. The economy contracted in two quarters: Q1 -1.3% (-.5%) and Q3 -1.1% (-1.4%). Unemployment reached 5.7% during the recession, but rose even further to 6% in June 2003. This often happens in recessions, as unemployment is a lagging indicator. Most employers wait until they are sure the economy is back on its feet again before hiring permanent employees.
With regard to Clinton's surplus, it would never have happened without republicans who controlled congress, forcing Clinton to the middle and fiscal responsibility. The only real success Obama has had is in the areas where he's continued the Bush policies. His health care reform is about to go down in flames, there was really only 1 way for unemployment to go, and as for GDP growth, anemic comes to mind.
I will give you that Obama was handed a big hot steaming pile, no argument there, BUT he's done nothing to improve the fundamentals that weigh on private sector growth, he has created a cloud of uncertainty that has business worried about the future, hence the continued weak economy.
By the way, Reagan inherited a recession as bad or worse than what Obama got. Within 2 years the economy was roaring back. Its Obama's policies that are the problem.
Not sure what poll your referring to... do you have a source?
I would suggest you check out the one on the electoral map - it is sure to make your little head explode! lol
If you keep telling yourself that Obama is not spending a trillion plus deficit every year, that does not make it so. The facts are the facts.
So just keep passing the buck and passing the blame and living your life telling lies and never accept responsibility for anything because it's always somebody else's fault, right?
IS ALL BUSH'S FAULT.
My recommendation to Roy-toy would be to get a new job in fast food. They pay better than what Karl Rove is paying him and he doesn't have to face his maker with all of the lies he has to tell.
I pray every time I read a roy post that he is a paid flunky. The type of people that believe that level of garbage are the same type of people that believe Jewish people lay eggs - and that did not bode well for human history and disgraced anything and everything the right wing ever had to offer.
No link to the actual poll results?
After three years of Obama's policies they trying to say the current economic conditions are the same as they were three years ago?
I guess that means in three years Obama's Policies have done nothing accept add trillions of dollars of new dept.
President Reagan had a Democratic Congress that was interested in helping the Nation. President Obama does not have that luxury.
6 in 10 are blithering idiots and Obama is counting on their ignorance and stupidity.
So, I know rightwingnuts don't believe in science so the theory of time-space continuum is just a model. But, by virtually all accounts and from all experts, the year 2008 preceded 2009. I think it's safe to believe that President Obama inherited events that preceded his term.
3.5 years ago Obama inherited the economic conditions as they were at that time.
This is 3.5 years later and Obama owns the "Current" economic conditions.
If He wasn't willing to accept responsibility for the Country and being the CEO maybe He should have stuck to Community Organizing.
About that
You are hilarious.
Starting in fiscal 2005 the Republican budget deficits shrank from 568 in 2004 to 342 in fiscal 2007. Fiscal 2008 - Written by the newly democrat controlled congress jumped to 641 Billion. Fiscal 2009 was supposed to be 666 billion, but Bush vetoed it because it was $200 Billion higher than he proposed. He also vetoed a supplemental spending bill that was to add another $50 Billion to the deficit.
Fiscal 2009 and the supplemental bill was signed into law by Barack Obama one day after he took the Oath in 2009. He, the democrats, and the obediant news media like to claim the 2009 budget was Bush's because it looks like he was the one adding 500 billion to the base budget. Not them.
IR
Pure BS
Obama put his plan before congress and it was passed in less than 3 weeks. The Reagan Tax Cuts took until October 1981 to get through congress and he had to give up on getting the promised spending cuts.
I was a new voter then, and I paid attention to what was going on.
Obama/Biden/Pelosi - 2012
Because it's whats right, not to mention Romney is a lying creep, and Boehner is the worst speaker in history, and who every Romney picks from his current line up is just a senseless babbling tool!
Da Noid "Longing for the "Good Ol' Days"??? Roy, I'm going to call you out for 3 reasons.

3. The reason why President Whats-His-Face's deficits appear to be so small? He never included expenditures in Iraq and Afghanistan in his budgets."
Let's use official government figures;
1 - The average Unemployment Rate for 2008 was 6.2%, which, while 1.5% higher than the average for 2007, is certainly FAR better than the 9.1% average for Obama's first 3 years.
2 - Under Bush, the GDP for 2008 was $14.394 Trillion, which was 46.6% higher than the $9.821 Trillion in 2000 (Clinton's last year), and the total GDP for 2008 was 3.6% higher than for 2007.
3 - Bush's figures and deficits include ALL spending, including war costs. That old nonsense about 'not including war costs in Bush's Budget is just that - nonsense. The government includes ALL spending in their final spending figures.
Nice try though, but some people actually check the figures instead of just throwing out made up numbers.
Mark L,
That is a total fabrication!!
Jimsepa
Republicans don't argue that Obama came in under a bad economic catastrophy. His policies were supposed to keep it mild, and start us recovering. Instead we have been flat for 3 years. This is the worst recovery since the Great Depresssion. In a typical recovery, jobs numbers and unemployment would be nearing the pre-down levels within 3 years. The lackluster recovery is a result of current policies, not past failures.
http://quitenormal.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/obama-recession-slowest-recovery-since-great-depression/
No Fiesty, you know that most people are referring to RCP.
BTW, You can live in the electoral maps if you want to. I check them frequently myself. Did you know that most of them use the 3 - 5 most current polls to do their analysis?
The only reason Obama is leading is because most of the polls being counted are using the Registered Voter number and the Americans numbers. What counts is Likely Voters - those motivated to vote. Strip away the other two and the race is a dead heat. Current Trends appear that even in the RV polls that Romney will be taking the lead outisde the margin of error in July or August.
Sorry Feisty, It's getting worse for Obama as time moves along.
Sorry DB - I have seen your "work" and you my friend have ZERO credibility when it comes to anything...
How ever will you survive when the President is re-elected handily? lmao!
PS: You said a whole lot of nothing but, I noticed you still couldn't respond to my original request of posting a source... typical...
However, not unexpected! ;o)
DB, as the saying goes, what have you done for me lately. Let me explain it to you in simple terms that even you may be able to understand.
Nothing!
I suppose that means four out of ten are Faux News viewers?
So 60% of Americans have a good sense of how economics works then. The other 40% out there believe that GWB left the economy in PERFECT condition. I wonder what percentage of these folks believe that obama is a muslim and/or was born in Kenya.
The financial crisis that occurred was unlike any other recession that this country experienced aside from the Great Depression so comparing improvements from any other recession to this one shows how little you understand economics.
LMAO, someone said the WSJ was a liberal media .....
It's part of News Corp, owned by Murdock, an extremely wealthy and active member of the GOP. Calling it liberal would be like calling Ron Paul a liberal.
The economic collapse was the result of years of borrowing and ever inflating home values, creating money that never existed. Eventually those values collapsed and all that imaginary wealth vanished overnight, this set off a panic as everyone involved tried to come out ahead. What allowed this to happen was the repeal of the Glass-Steagall act, a law setup specifically to prevent consumer banks from getting heavily involved in risky financial markets. Those markets can be very profitable, especially if you have enough capital to control their movements, thus this act also prevented banks from making large profits. Doesn't come as a surprise that the financial sector lobbyists eventually got it repealed.
Immense fictional wealth creation (banks) + risky high profit gambling (speculation) = bad situation. It'd be like someone borrowing $1,000,000 USD on their way to Vegas. In theory they could make $10~$100M in profit by borrowing that first $1 mil. If they were forced to only have $10,000 that was in their pocket then they could only make a few hundred grand. Of course they could only lose $10,000 vs the $1mil. That's how gambling works, the bigger the bet the bigger the pay off and the bigger the lose. So yeah recession was created by high stakes legalized gambling.
Anyhow, Obama is going to win the election. He is charismatic and popular, he connects with the younger generation (my generation). Those of us who grew up playing video games and reading comic books / watching TV. People will just see Romney the same way they saw McCain, a Republican puppet. He will say whatever he is told to say by his handlers, his purpose is to push the party agenda and restore the old plutocracy.
The GoP won't have a decent candidate until they can drop the ultra-conservative baggage they insist on making part of every political move. Nobody is going to magically forget what we all saw during the GoP primary's, each candidate trying to say how they were more conservative and more capable of pushing the party agenda then the others. Republicans vote for Republicans, Democrats vote for Democrats, it's the swing voters who decide elections. Thus if you want to win you gotta connect with the young unaffiliated swing voters, we like moderation, careful consideration of all sides and positions, research and studies done on all issues. We hate party agenda's and line towing ideology. Quickest way to alienate the swing voters ... advocate "my way or the higherway" stances and refuse to budge / consider alternate points of view.
Aka ... why should I vote for a group that demonizes and vilifies me? (Moderate Independent)
Otherguy - I hope that most "young" people of your generation don't vote based on "Charismatic and Popular." I think Obama is probably one heck of a nice guy and looks good on Jimmy Fallon - you're only forgetting the fact that he can't govern or lead to save his life. But then again, you probably don't have a job and aren't contributing a damn thing to society anyway....
Juice - let's hope your lemons don't dribble down the pant legs of the young generation like your messiah St. Reagan and his tickle down economic policies. The young are smarter and more educated than ever, and while they may lack experience, they do know what fluffing a politician means, which you apparently know first hand (as in hand-job).
If the young aren't employed, it is not entirely their fault, it is the fault of the system you bought and paid for with your GOP/TP policies. You are the generation of 'love of money' vs. love of work. May the young find the balance of love of life and work vs. the Wall Street adoration you folks adore.
Please keep posting, theotherguy. You've got a lot of good and interesting things to say. The fact that you were immediately attacked not on the bulk of your post but one bit taken out of context speaks to your ability to tell a compelling story. Keep it up.
How can all of you claim the economy is the fault of President Obama's agenda, when the republicans in Congress have not allowed President Obama's agenda to be implemented. Between all the filibustering and the watering down of bills (that they never intended on voting for anyway) hardly any of his policies are in effect.
It's an open-ended question. Inherited? Well, there were quite a few spending bills that measured over a trillion dollars that were passed by Reid/Pelosi 2 years before he took office. So, yes, he definitely "inherited" those. The problem is, he didn't do anything to stop the trend. He instead accelerated it. 4 straight years of the first time we had over a trillion dollar deficit doesn't show he did anything to help the situation.
Let's put this in terms of baseball. The first pitcher goes out and has a horrible 3 innings. The relief pitcher is called in with the score at 3-0 and 3 on base. The relief pitcher then goes and pitches a grand slam, bringing the score to 7-0. Ok, so to be fair, he's definitely responsible for the one who hit the grand slam and the 3 on base are a "grey" area because he could have struck out the other team and stopped those 3 runs. Let's just go ahead and say those 3 are the first pitchers fault. That's 6 the fault of the primary pitcher and 1 to him. Fine. The Relief pitcher then goes on for 6 more innings and allows enough hits to bring the score to 11-0. Are all 11 points the fault of the first pitcher simply because of the deficit the relief pitcher "inherited"? Absolutely not!
If Obama and the majority Democrats haven't been able to do anything while being in the majority since Jan 2007, they're just as imcompetent as the pre 2007 administration. Remember, the Republicans only have control of 1/2 of 1/3 of gov't now.
It amazes me...."filibuster" is just too big of a word for the teabaggers, isn't it.
I find it interesting that none of these teabagger minions have stepped up to tell, exactly, what Mittsy's plan is. Even if Mittsy had a plan, I guess it would take a second thought process for the baggers to express it...and, judging from these posts, that is just simply out of their reach.
@Juiceisgood
If you were paying attention you'd realize that I'm referring to the twenty to thirty crowd, not the teenagers. Those of us who've left the next and entered into the world with a very dim view on the problems the older generations caused with their constant bickering and fanatic devotion to ideologies.
FYI, I'm an Engineer, I earn my keep and solidly in the middle class, the heaviest taxed portion of our population. My family was poor, I started with nothing and worked my own way to success, part of that work involved eight years of service in the US Army, the great equalizer. So please continue to tell me that I haven't or am not now contributing to the success of our nation. That I don't know what work is.
My generation connects with Obama because he's a moderate and actually listens to opinions by other people. As much as the GoP wants to pain him as the devil incarnate (their level of effort to this effect just shows you how scared they are of the guy, or rather what he represents), when looked at objectively from an Independents perspective (I hold no political loyalty's) he's awfully open to GoP ideas and suggestions. When the GoP is basically saying "my way or I'm leaving", the other guy saying he's open to all suggestions kinda makes a positive impression. Maybe you conservatives should stop trying so hard to out-conservative each other.
And FYI, my favorite Senator of all time is Olympia Snow, so sad she left our state. (I'm a Mainer, leave us the F*CK alone).
This poll shows that 6 in 10 people interviewed by NBC hacks are idiots.
By your comments, we therefore have to find you are one of the 6 in 10
Actually it shows that 4 out of 10 are either completely out of touch with reality. Or simply liars.
stally..... choose "C" All the above..... modern day Teapers....
Personally, I could care less about polls, who's to blame, blah, blah, blah...
I just want it FIXED. If he can't do it like he promised, I have no qualms about voting for someone else IF ONLY to send a message that votes are not to be taken for granted and if you screw with the voters, you are out of a job.
Cleaning out the cobwebs should be a regular thing, not an exception to the rule.
No, it just proves that when a loser such as yourself sees another poll posted, your the first idiot troll to comment. lol
Actually, the poll shows 4 in 10 Americans have their heads up their __________.
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't find their way out of a mirror.
Soxrule, you must be a comedian!
toughcrowd. I want it fixed also. But, one person cannot fix the mess created before January, 2009. The 2010 election put a hell of a lot of do nothing men and women in the House, and that is why nothing has been "fixed" as you put it. But, a lot has been fixed and you are too lazy to find out or just plain trolling the net.
slightlyold,
You see it your way, I see it mine. I don't have any problems whatsoever booting EVERYBODY out and starting from scratch, but your comment seems partisan, so who is doing the trolling here?
I guess you attack people who don't see things your way...that's fine. Just consider yourself warned: holding any politician's water will get you nowhere.
RedSoxRule - no the poll proves you on the far right have no intelligence and no integrity - which you prove daily.
You, bob, 314159 prove daily what I have found all along - there is absolutely no sanity - or honor - within the GOP - Grumpy Old Perverts!
Obama/Biden 2012
James In Seattle Post 1.4
Congratulations on a well researched post. Unfortunately, blaming the 2007 Real Estate collapse on LBJ and Jimmy Carter is too faint a trail to take seriously. The real cause of the collapse is that the bubble was essentially a Pyramid Scheme unwittingly operated by greedy and stupid mortgage packagers, underwriters, rating agencies and gullible high yield investors.
It was apparent to anyone who cared to question the blind faith that Real Estate prices could continue to increase indefinitely was total BS. For example read Mike Lewis's "The Big Short"
The idea that the government could push the string hard enough to make a difference is nonsense. It was stupid and greedy executives that made the decisions (I include Fanny and Freddy in this)
Actually toughcrowd, I am pretty much a hard nosed Democrat. Only voted Republican once and thought we would never get rid of Governor Love.
Yeah, I'm probably trolling on this liberal site. But, I will not use my vote against President Obama. If you want something fixed you need someone who is not like the last one. Norquist is right all the Republicans need is someone to hold the pin and he will dictate what is done.
I really shouldn't be so mean when I respond. I'm sorry.
slightlyold,
I could care less if you are mean or not when you respond. You are the one who has to sleep at night after reviewing your actions for the day.
You are mistaken when you said, "If you want something fixed you need someone who is not like the last one."
In reality, if you choose that way, you will only end up with another corrupt politician. What I'm trying to get across to the mindless masses on BOTH sides is that when your mindset is this:
"Yeah, I'm probably trolling on this liberal site. But, I will not use my vote against President Obama."
you WILL be abused and taken for granted.
No, slightlyold, if you want something REALLY fixed, you put EVERY SINGLE politician in constant fear for their jobs, and MAKE them understand via the ballot box that they can and will be booted out of their high perk job on a moment's notice if they don't get their acts together.
Use the brain God gave you, for Pete's sake.
Toughcrowd...Most intelligent people leaned their lesson from listening to the "throw them all out" crowd. You get a House that is only capable of passing bills that further the fascist evangelical agenda. It is people like you that have raped the Republican Party of anyone honorable that was willing to work together for the betterment of all Americans. It was people like you that gave the world Ms Sharon Angle..."forcing insect victims to bear their own father's children is like making lemonade out of lemons" and the creepy, mentally unstable nazi drag-queen in Arizona.
Read your not-so-distant history and learn how people like you set the stage for the right wing to take over and slaughter millions that "weren't like them"...a little hint....Germany, circa 1930...
You may think you are a cool little rebel - but what you preach has been done before. Please study the results before squawking out another comment like "throw them all out and start from scratch". I would rather, on any given day, be a water-carrier for a politician than to serve my country's head on a platter to the anti-christ.
So put THAT in your tea-bag and steep it.
Gallup poll of June 14 found 68% of Americans did not believe President Obama is responsible for our weak economic. Kinda looks like a trend here.
Now, to "FLYNAVY1's" comment about "republicans dancing naked at midnight", and worshiping satan. They indeed do. Too shy though to play with themselves. Rules of "Brotherhood" however, dictate they give "aid and comfort" to each other, and they give it their all there.
Shockedanddisgusted,
I couldn't give a rip what someone so vitriolic as yourself thinks.
Go on, keep talking like that to people who want to solve problems whether they see things your way or not...that should get 'em to agree with you!
Dismissed, as people so hateful as you should be.
Seeking Sanity and redsocksrule
Seems to me the Redsox were always letting the real tallent slip out of their hands on a regular basis. Usually to the Yankees, but recently to the White Sox.
And before you say same things for the Cleveland Browns, I'm a displaced Steeler fan.
Toughcrowd...your comment would only be legitimate if we haven't already, for a year and a half, witnessed exactly what the "trow them all out" crowd offers up.
Solutions??? Replace decent humans with evangelical fascists and then attempt to strip the rights of anyone who refuses to bow, glassy-eyed, to the anti-christ. I think we've had enough "solutions" from your crowd....burning women at the stake being one of the preferred solutions in your history....
1. Have to agree. Obama inherited the economy... from 30 years of "give houses to people who couldn't afford mortgages" Liberal policy. One big wealth redistribution scam.
2. He had total control of both sides of Congress for two years. He did zero to fix the economy, and ramming Obamacare down our throats just did more economic harm.
3. After three and a half years in the job, he's still not taken accountability for anything. He's an incompetent, excuse-making, blame-everybody-else loser.
It just goes to show you that if someone says it's Bush's fault enough times you think it is... 4 years from now...I guess it will still be Bush's fault. Last night driving home from work I had a flat tire. I didn't realize until reading this article today that being late for dinner was really Bush's fault... boy, I feel better now...
I guess it's true that if you tell a person a lie enough times they start to believe it.
Which is the reason why the GNOP & NewsforDumbFux is so successful in pimping out the stuck on stupid crowd!
Remember; it's not a lie if YOU believe it! lol
Feisty, I think Karl Rove taught the Tea/Repugs well. I dont see how else they can believe all the stuff they spout out. I think it's time for the Democrats to repeat the truth over and over and maybe some of them will start beleiving the truth for a change. You do a great job and that is proven by the number of times they colaspe your comments.
Woody,
Strange you mention that, I sent a scathing e-mail to the DNC telling them the exact same thing yesterday! They need to get their @!$%# together when it comes to combating the BS coming from the right!
I'm not known as the "Queen of Collapse" for nothing ya know! ;o)
Thanks!
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't win a cognitive tete-a-tete with a developmentally-delayed garden hose.
What a stupid story. Of course Obama inherited the economy. That's like saying the sun rises each day Obama is president. The more pertinent question is, what's Odumbo done to improve the economy?
1. Cash for Clunkers, success, sort of, but why?
2. Failed HASP and HAMP program
3. Failed Energy Assistance Program
4. Failed Stimulus Program
5. $5 billion increase in debt
6. Failed to reduce the debt in half
7. Paid Union Kingpins to help GM with a HUGE loss for Taxpayers
8. Claimed he'd walk in a union pick line, but somehow couldn't find Wisconsin
9. Converted with Anna Wintour, perhaps wearing her Pradas too.
10. Sparked the Tea Party movement that will sweep him out of office.
Oh yes, he also manged to play 98 rounds of golf, so far! And yes, I know, I know, he killed Bin Liden, with his own hands, using a Glock 22, after sprinting up the stairs and kicking down the door. Well, not really, but the Movie is due out this Fall.
NOBAMA 2012!
.
John200...Well, well, well, another dingbat (I'm sorry dingbats). President Obama is Commander in Chief, and yes he is the one who got Bin Laden.
Why are the union the bad guys. It is the Kochs and The Christian Taliban Pacs that are destroying this country's voting rights.
Shame to you and the others like you. What Bush did not bring down, people like you will.
Who the hxll are the 49% who do NOT think President Obama inherited this disaster. They must be Republicans because they hate facts and would not recognize the truth.
John this isn't actually about Obama's performance as president. This is about the 4 out of 10 Americans are simply flat out lying or simply too stupid to vote.
I see Feisty is in top form.... the crux of the article is not just if Obama inherited the economy... it is What has he done to make it better... the reflection the 6 in 10 statement is that he started with a "bad" deal and, despite his best efforts, still in a bad deal.. ergo 4 out of 10 think he was "ineffective". and I have to agree. If you move into a house that was poorly maintained.. and you fix "some" things and "something" else breaks and all you do is complain about the "previous owners ineptitude" then you have a choice... stay and continue to hammer away in YOUR house or MOVE OUT.... I'll help him in November to move out... after all its not his fault.
Of course he inherited this economy, and, of course the things he has done haven't helped any sort of recovery at the citizen level. His responsibility is to make sure there is a system that survives till there is improvement, which he is doing. The thing to remember is that nothing any president does will improve the economy. That is an economic cycle that is caused by business practices such as China becoming a manufacturing and economic power, jobs moving to a less expensive manufacturing environment, dependence on foreign customers, etc. I'm just thankful that the GOP does not control the White House. They would have done everything possible to make the U.S. competitive, like, destroy unions, Lower workers pay, cut social medical benefits, deny extended unemployment benefits, eliminate the minimum wage, etc., and then make sure the corporations and large investors shared in the excess profits from all the savings without applying anything to reducing the deficit. Trickle down economics is voodoo economics.
Yes he inherited a bad economy...and he knew if he was elected he would have a bad economy to fix...the only question left to answer is how did his policies affect the bad economy he knew he was inheriting!
Are you better off today than you were 3 1/2 years ago...for each one of us it's personal...and not that difficult to answer...it's either yes or no. If it's yes you probably want to reelect him, if it's no...do you want to give him another chance?
Like Bill Clinton said, "it's the economy....
Hard to believe that 4 in every 10 Americans could be that dumb.
Did the poll ask any questions about the part the 110th Congress (Obama, Reid, Pelosi, ...) had in that economy?
Nope. Republicans tried that.
Don't you remember? First, "this economy is all Obama's fault!" Then "well, maybe he didn't cause the mess" and now "well, he didn't cause the problem but he isn't doing anything to make it better!"
Truth is:
...the numbers for Bush's last three months. Between October and November, 597,000 jobs were lost; between November and December, 681,000 were lost; and between December and January, 741,000 were lost.
April 2012 marks the 26th straight month of gains in private-sector employment, for a total of 4.2 million private-sector jobs.
DJIA Dec 1, 2008 = 8149
DJIA May 19, 2012 = 12369
Dec 29, 2008 U.S. corporate earnings probably fell for a sixth-straight quarter, the longest streak in at least 20 years, as consumer spending on automobiles, homes and retailers collapsed.
May 11, 2012 Fortune magazine released its ranking of the 500 biggest US corporations Monday, which showed that they received a record-breaking $824 billion in combined profits in 2011, up 16 percent from 2010.
"Yet when asked in a separate question whether the president’s policies have helped or hurt the economy, 33 percent say they’ve hurt; 32 percent say they’ve helped; and another 32 percent answer that they haven’t made much of a difference."
Everyone knows he inherited it. What is significant is 65% think Obama has hurt or hasn't made much of a difference. When 2/3 think you aren't effective, you probably shouldn't keep your job.
Facts Republicans Hate:
Job losses per month in January 2008: 700,000
Job gains last month: 120,000
25 straight months of private sector gob growth
GDP growth in 2008: negative 6%
GDP growth last year 2.9%
Dow Jones Average in January 2008: Under 8000
Dow Jones Average today: 12,000+
Record domestic oil production
GM – all time record profits
Near record corporate profits across the board
Osama Bin Laden --- dead
Iraq war --- over
So now we take a poll to see what the truth is?
The poll should have been 100% that he inherited this lame economy. That's a fact. Obama did not create the $1 Trillion deficit, the collapsing American and global economy, and all it's contributors and side effects.
The debate should be about whether Romney's solutions would have put us in a better place than we are today. Now THAT is opinion, the poll they took is not.
All this poll did was to point out that a percentage of Americans cannot sort fact from fiction.
All this pool does is register the effectiveness of the naked lies put out by FOX and other brainwashing enterprises.
The economy, the job loss, the Wall Street crash, the mortgage collapse, the failing factory outputs, and the follow-on collapse of the global economy was Obama's to try to fix... NONE of it was his "fault".
And would Romney's and the GOP's plan of letting the banks, insurers, and the auto industry collapse, and cutting social services, and blaming the leaching lower class, and cutting taxes for the rich (even more), and simply capping government health care obligations as a "solution", and escalating current and new wars have done better?
No. Not at all. It's a pretty safe bet that McCain would not have been able to do as much as Obama did... in fact, in the name of capitalist purity we would still be trying to scrape our banks off the ground and wondering if we'd ever build a car again.
Take a poll on that.
Adding myself, 7 in 10... smile :-)
The simple fact is that Bush inherited a recession and a planned 9/11. He overcame both, despite being kind of stupid. Obama inherited a recession. Blamed Bush. Never took responsibility for ignoring the failed economy while he had a Democratic super majority in both houses, and made things much worse by concentrating on his failed HCR, which was to be the subject of his 93rd autobiography, following the very successful "what I ate for breakfast in 2010" thriller. People voted for Obama because he called himself black and they wanted to be trendy. People won't criticize him now because they're cowards and are afraid to have Progressives call them racists. People blame the rich because its easier than admitting that they are failures because of choices they made and deserve their sad lives. The single most ridiculous thing here is the person known as "FIESTY". Her sole purpose is to be a cranky old lady and call people names. For proof she cites organizations such as Progressive.org which is as reliable a source as was Pravda. Yes, I know 99% of Progressives are too uneducated to know what Pravda was and too lazy to google it. Be stupid. Vote Obama. As a Conservative what will I do if Obama is elected? Same thing I would if Romney wins. My life never changes. I work. I vacation. I golf. I swim in my pool. The poor will suffer under Obama and Progressives will pretend they care.
Jeff
Obama inherited the collapse of the Wall Street and the the mortgage bubble, he bailed out the country and kept us out of a depression. He also inherited the DO NOTHING, JUST SAY NO, EVIL TOADIES FOR THE RIGHT WING CORPORATE INTERESTS. He made a mistake by pushing health care first, although we we as a nation need to reform health care (single payer is my choice). So the right throws up roadblocks and says that Obama is not taking responsibility for the recession. What kind of underhanded and dishonest policy is that? What exactly has the right wing Congress offered to help the recession and what exactly have they done to work for a better situation for the working class? Very little and they would do nothing if they could pass it off as Obama's fault and get away with it. The right is not the most honorable bunch are they.
Considering the fact that about 3 in 10 Americans are nitwits who've been continuously hearing Mr. Obama's whines about George Bush being responsible for every single problem on his desk, how is this poll surprising ???
tony
Even though I disagree with you comment, that still does not give your side a pass for being obstructionist and offering nil to help the country get back on it's feet again. How do explain the Norquist Pledge? What actual job bills that do not include raping the environment, taking away health and safety protection and cutting middle class wages has your side offered to try to help? Who will benefit from the Ryan plan and who will lose? Like I said, DO NOTHINGS and bought by the Koch Bros.
Independents and right leaning Democrats (aka non-liberals) are "No Tethuglicans"??? And the "Bush Recession"? If you're saying that whoever is sitting in the white house when a recession hits is their fault, you just blamed Obama and totally ignored Congress in both instances. The president isn't supposed to be able to act on his own. That's why there are checks and balances in place. Bush didn't do anything after Jan 2007 that Pelosi/Reid didn't approve of. However, Obama seems to be looking for every single loophole he can find to bypass Congress.
You can blame Bush for lots of things that cannot be disputed, but blaming him 4 years after he was out of office and 6 years after he lost Congress completely is just ludicrous. You're basically reaffirming what many believe. That even with months of supermajority and 6 years of majority overall in the checks & balances, the Democrats are incapable of getting anything done that is helpful to the economy. If you can't cite Congressional and Presidential policies that worked and have to resort to childish name calling, you really don't have a case in my mind.
Allen...
Excellent points !
I've seen people writing on this site for months, asking "What's Romney's plan for the economy ?"
I think that after 3.5 years on the job, Americans should know what Mr. Obama's plan is ??? He's surely not spelled anything out in anything more than a short paragraph.
What was his plan in 2009 and where has it taken us ? What programs has he pushed thru the litany of boring speeches ? Where has he taken the lead on anything to help this economy ?
What grade did he give himself last year during an interview..."an A-". Would he still give his performance that "honors" grade ??? He absolutely would.
Okay, enough with the finger pointing. Let's even assume Obama DID "inherit" a disappointing economy. Wasn't it Obama that stated the "Republicans drove the economy in a ditch" and he knows how to fix it? Didn't Obama initiate policies (Stimulus, Cash for Clunkers, GM, etc. etc. etc.) that he said would fix it? Didn't Obama say the summer of 2010 was the "Summer of Recovery"? That his "fixes" have fixed the economy and we are now recovering?
If he initiated the policies and that "fixed" the economy to where 2010 was the "recovery" then how does he say that the problems in 2012 are STILL due to the previous administration? He already FIXED the economy and, in fact, was so confident he initiated the "fix" to the economy that he said if the economy did not fully recover by 2012 then he would be a "one-term" president.
So my question is this: Since Obama KNEW what the problem was and SAID he has fixed it then why is the economy going into another recession? He can't blame Republicans because he supposedly already "fixed" what they screwed up.
So is Obama a FAILURE as a president and in his policies or was he so incompetent that he really DIDN'T know how to fix an economy and was just faking it?
The STUPIDITY of SOME Americans is Startling!!! We accepted 2 terms of bushcheney, 2 illegal wars, the rape and pillaging of wall street and real estate, 2 of the worst Supreme Idiots ever placed on the court EVER, then CRY about This President not being able to clean up this pile of DUNG fast enough!!!! If were DUMBED DOWN enough to legally elect another rightwing/teabag/rethug into office AGAIN......we deserve ALL the social pain we will surely receive!! There should NEVER be another rightwing/teabag/rethug elected President again! Oh, willard/mitt is a SCRUB!! You can tell by the way he walks.....LoL
But how do you explain that Obama said in 2010 that he had "fixed" the economy and we were now in the Summer of Recovery? Did Obama know what he was talking about and knew he had NOT fixed the economy (which makes Obama a liar) or is it that he said he knew how to fix the economy but can't (which makes him incompetent). So the question is really is Obama a liar or incompetent?
mack...
Could you have possibly fit a couple more insults in your rant ???
When I stand in line to vote this year I'll be standing in awe of all the geniuses that are lined up to vote for Mr. Obama again...probably some of them won't even know that he's already held the job for 4 years.
And why do you insult Ms. Kagan and Granny Clampett Bader Ginsburg ??? It's not like you are a certified expert on Supreme Court Justices...but I concede you may know more about 'idiots' than many other folks.
Republicans are always dumming down how bad bush's policies really were and pull the obama hasn't pulled us out of the toilet fast enough card, way too much.
Reguardless we're in a better place today than we were in 08'.
Obama/Biden 2012 because America cannot afford more unecessary wars, deregulation, outsorcing, and cupon health care.
Such a large amount of posts on here insult Feisty or complain that Feisty is first to post or call her names. It makes you all look silly and simple. If you don't like Feisty or what she has to say, move on. Also, it shouldn't matter if she posts first because you jealous little wannabes collapse her anyway. I personally love her - she plays you fools like a fiddle. Best of all, I always know where to find her.
Give 'em Hell Feisty!
OBAMA 2012
mackman - I don't blame you for the rant. That is exactly how I feel if I force myself to watch FOX News or read some of the right-wing posts on here. Both display a collection of craziness that is hard to stomach most of the time. My late and greatly missed father always told me, however, never to go into battle unarmed. Afterwards, I usually go for a walk and take a shower.
OBAMA 2102!
Only 6 in 10. How pathetic. 40% are either morons, or have been in a coma.
Oh Dear!
You mean thinking people aren't being hood-winked by the right's rabid rhetoric? lol
It will take decades before people start to forget the economic havoc the Bush regime handed this country!
Let us move forward together with President Obama!
Fisty, you amuse me. Almost as much as nutty Joe Biden. Obama has done nothing to improve things according to 65% of those polled. That is what people know.
So why do they call you Fisty anyway?
Get lost penguin-boy!
In other news, 6 in 10 say the sky is blue.
I wonder if Red Sox whatever will call them idiots too?
I sure wish that guy named Bush would get out of the way so Obama could start doing what he promised us!
Amen . . .
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't correctly alphabetize Algeria and Zambia...in that order.
Poor Fiesty, you're not suspended yet for calling Alan in Albany "an idiot" today? Tsk tsk.
Sally and Tyler asleep at the switch. Where's a good site Mod when you need one?
I'll take Bush's "economic havoc" of $1.85/gal gas and 5.8% unemployment over Obama's "economic apocalypse" of $4/gal gas and 9% unemployment any day of the week. Just sayin'.
Since your sensitive"fee-fee's" are suffering - this ones for you little buddy;
You're an idiot as well Johnny-Boy!
Now run along and complain to the moderators like a good little bitch! ;o)
hey red, move forward? careful the cliff is just ahead! Also when you call someone an idiot, remember, it takes one to know one.
Oh my!
That is one of the most clever comments I have ever read here!
Was your three year old your lifeline?
Feisty, I have looked everywhere and can't find out how or why one is "collapsed by the community". I don't get it. Some of the best and most intelligent posts have been collapsed. Can you help?
The Reichwing liberal socialists are destroying this country. With their OWS, SEIU, New Black Panthers, ACORN Gestapo storm troopers they will do anything to steal the election.
Like the fascists they are, they want to expand government to control what you drink, what you eat, what you drive, where you live, etc. basically your entire life because they think you're too stupid to run your own.
Fight fascism, vote conservative.
Hi Diane,
In the little box in the lower right side of the comment with the (!) - if you click it, you will get a drop-down menu and you can flag comments for either "no value" - "inflammatory" or "advertising".
All it takes is 5 of these right wing nitwits to flag a comment & it will collapse regardless of how many votes it has received!
Great system... NO? Like letting the inmates run the asylum!
Regardless, once collapsed you can still open it by clicking on the +!
Hope I answered your question...
Valhalla Phil - wow - did your skin head friends help you with that post or are you that ignorant all by yourself? (If you're smart, you'll blame it on the skin heads!)
Valhalla - let me see, the conservatives want to control what women do with their bodies, what people do in their own bedrooms, etc. You seem to have your parties mixed up. It's the far right that wants to snoop in everyone's lives!
Umm...I hate to break it to you, Valhalla, but the nazi fascists were extreme right wing. Are you ignorant or are you making a feeble attempt to deflect? Please go back to 3rd grade world history and broaden your mind...
Otherguy/I hope you are correct, but I personally think that the jingle loving majority are used to being told by repeated ads. what is the way to vote and the right have stacked the deck by bein g well supplied by the Oligarchs I admit that both parties are now spending too much money to influence voters . I hope that this is the election that unlimited amounts of money can't buy the government ,but I have little hope that this is the start of seriously decided voting will beat repetition.
Well our electoral college system does screw up the votes. It forces them to single out key states with large amounts of "swing" voters, aka Independents.
Thing is, we're in the internet age thus anything said in one state can be heard in all states. Even in 2004 we were not this connected, constantly talking to each other and sharing ideas / thoughts. Even if those ideas and thoughts are rather base and unimaginative.
Obama knows this and works it, that's how he beat an experienced popular candidate with deep political connections during the 2008 democratic primary. The GoP has yet to find a way to leverage this social connect crazy, usually due to it's need to inject God / anti-homosexual / anti-choice and hate filled commentary into everything. You can't run on a message of fear and hate anymore. All it does is serve to make your loyal subjects more loyal, not attract new membership to your cause.

Uh, no. Congress has a 17% approval rating. 83% of those 6/10 were blaming Congress. You're just ASSUMING they meant Bush. I would fall into that 6 of 10. Both bailouts, cash for clunkers, trillion dollar deficits, handing out billions to rich corporate execs who made bad business decistions - those were all written and given the nod by Pelosi and Reid. Obama, like Bush, were both guilty of not standing up for the taxpayer on these wasteful spending binges at our children's expense.
@Fiesty, You are a sad, pathetic excuse for an adult. You sound like the chick in school who had to bully others because she was so @!$%#ing ugly. Your name calling is only a sign of your desperation. Love it!!!!!!!!! Please take the Illinois off of your name, it's an embarassment for the rest of us who live here.

How does assuming that if a woman wants to have a sex life, then she shouldn't be opposed to paying a $10 or $20 monthly co-pay charge for contraception equate to "conservatives want to control what women do with their bodies"..."and in their bedrooms" ???
I'm somewhat "conservative"...and if I wanted to exert "control" over American women's bodies. I'd be putting most of them on a diet.
He may have inherited it, but he's continued to run it into the ground. And the things that were tried to alleviate the problem haven't worked but the president wants to do more of the same thing. THAT is the definition of insanity: doing the same thing and expecting to get a different result.
Okay...so what does Mr. Romney have in mind to try and fix it?
Keep in mind, going back and doing what was done before...well, that's what got us into the mess.
(Talk about insanity.)
So explain to me how Obama's jobs bill differs from the 2009 stimulus.
There is no one who could be worse than Obama. Now I can sit back and watch all of you lefties try to make some sense of his actions. I want someone who is at least in favor of Americans.
Yep, he may have inherited it, but bottom line is he hasn't fixed it.
People can point fingers all they want, but the Presidency is the Big Leagues and he was hired - and promised - to turn it around.
The only question is: do we give him longer or try someone else? Let's move on and get it FIXED. Blaming everybody else does NOTHING to help.
Cowboy hats and hemmroids, every a-hole in Texas has at least one of each
And the Right continues to pretend that fixing the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression is a matter of stepping up on a curb as opposed to climbing out of the Grand Canyon. You can only do that by ignoring the facts.

Oh hey, look at that!! The economy actually started growing WELL before the GOPTP took over half of Congress and set about trying to save us from imaginary socialism.
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't find Texas on a Texas map.
It is the Congress that has failed to do anything to help the economy and we all know it. It is the Republican party of "NO" that has not let any of the economic policies of this president even take effect...so how can you judge his policies at all... We are still living with "Republican" policies. Like the policy of screw the American people so Republicans might have a chance of regaining the White House. The Party of "NO" the Bushies own this economy... Republicans and the Tea Party are the problem... vote them all out and you can take Grover with you. A vote for Mitt is a vote for an empty suit who basically will do what ever his corporate owners will tell him to do... and that is for the benefit of the Corporate States of America... Not the United States of America...
John B
Looks like you over looked these comments from you link.
Doesn't look like everything is rosy across the board. We see a "softening in the Wholesale Trade. We see the Business out look is flat for 2012,NO GROWTH,in the Tech Sector and no surge in activity for the service sector.
So tell us again how everything is peachy keen.
Again, it is congress that controls the purse strings and writes laws. Democrats flushed the economy, not Bush. Clinton did not balance the budget, Gingrich did. Clinton was wise enough to sign it, that's all presidents can do.
Compare the first six years of Bush to the last two. Did Bush change? No, congress did.
Republicans were elected in 2010 do stop the democrat destruction. That means blocking democrat bills that worsen the economy. It is the democrat senate that is doing nothing because Reid won't even let bills come up for a vote.
To your comment about Reid, Phil...when normal humans see a turd float to the top, they flush it down. Don't condemn Harry Reid for being sanitary simply because your team likes to roll in it.
Toughcrowd, and what help exactly has President Obama received from the GOP? This is a bit vindictive but if Romney wins and the GOP takes control of the Senate, I hope that the Dems become the party of NO and use the filibuster as much as the GOP did to stop nearly everything the President tried to do. I know that would be horrible for the economy and Americans, but the GOP didn't care and let America founder so why not the Dems do the same thing. After all, fair is fair.
Did you actually have a point, Slodon? OF COURSE everything isn't what we'd like to see in the economy...that's a given. It's also true that the economy isn't contracting at 6% annually and hemorrhaging 700,000 jobs/month as it was at Inauguration Day. It's not going to be fully recovered, either, until 2 things happen, things that no President can do much about;
1) We have to work through an overbuilding in the housing market that was sufficient to keep excess inventory on the market into 2013. That's just a matter of numbers and population growth, which NO ONE can do anything about.
2) Middle class incomes need to begin growing. That's where the Democrats have an enormous edge. Republican policies are intended to DEPRESS incomes in order to feed the 1%, which will forever be a drag on the economy.
For those proclaiming that Obama grew the economy, you might consider that the growth may be in spite of Obama's failed efforts. You might also consider that, the growth may have been much better had Obama not done anything. All of that fantastic growth and unemployment is still over 8% and the debt is growing even bigger.
Realist...
Then I guess you see the attempt to sway the gullible every time the President says "we've created 4.3 million jobs". He gives no credit to the world of business whatsoever and lays a false claim on everything they do to survive and grow despite the government's intrusion. He also gives himself credit for jobs that get "filled"...not "created"...by virtue of workers retiring, quitting for another job, getting sick, getting injured, dying, or leaving the country.
In this President's narcissistic mind...if I get offered a better job than I now have, quit, take the new job and someone gets hired to take my old position...he would stand at a podium...lok the camera right in the eye...and say that he "just created two more jobs".
And suckers would take him at his word !
@tony, put the crack pipe DOWN!!! If it were left up to bushcheney/repug/tethug teabaggers, we'd all be sleeping under a bridge! But go head, vote for the dweeb willard/mit.....and watch the 1% turn us all into PEASANTS!!!
Obama did inherit a tough economy, and he made it far worse. After all, he had someone else to blame. Yes we can is now why we couldn't. Leaders overcome obstacles, they do not make endless excuses for why they could not succeed.
Obama says the private sector is doing fine, and today Biden says it is a depression. The Obama administration can't even get on the same page over the condition of the economy, and we wonder why the country has suffered through 3.5 years of utter failure. If Obama had a record to run on, he would.
mack...
If you happen to see me "under a bridge" don't forget to introduce yourself.
The rest of the folks that you do see there...Mr. Obama surely wants someone's help in getting them registered to vote. He can dominate that voting bloc just as strongly as he locked up the kiddie vote in 2008. Only problem now is that four years later, half of the kiddies still can't find a job and won't be lining up at the polls this time.
You might be able to help with the under-the-bridge-crack-smokers turnout !
yeah he inherited the economy...so what?....he hasn't done anything to correct it......what should we do?...sit around and wait for hope and change?......it doesn't matter who caused what....the question is what do we do now?.....ROMNEY IN NOVEMBER!
See the question I asked in #5.1 above...
What's Mr. Romney going to do?
Hopefully pass a freakin' budget
Uh...isn't that Congress' job?
The Democrat Senate says there is no need for a budget.
yup, vote for a guy that has the same policy that got us in this rut.
Alan, there are no quick and dirty fixes, but I would hope Romney would encourage legislation to set up a better environment for business
I am more concerned with the stupid four in ten who say Obama did not inherit the sour economy? Were they living under a rock during the Bush years?
Those 4? That's the GOP "base". They never waiver....
it is congresses job to pass a budget. The Dem congress has not passed a budget since this pres was elected.
OhhhPhinn - 4 in 10 may think this is a new sour economy. If I remember correctly 2010 was the "Recovery Summer". Or was that 2011?
AJ, surly you know that the President doesn't pass budgets. Or do you? Maybe Obama could have done something to fix the economy, but congress is the ones that have to pass the bills to fix them. And not vote down everything Obama has tried. Maybe that would help. You hold the Republican congress blameless in this mess? Knowing you...you probably do.
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't extract their tongues from frozen metal with a gallon of hot water.
Didn't Obama end the Recession in June 2009?? If so WHY DO WE STILL HAVE 8.2% UNEMPLOYMENT AND A GDP OF 1.9%???
Fascist liberals are the Reichwing of this nation. OWS, SEIU thugs, New Black Panthers, ACORN, etc. are their Gestapo storm troopers.
He's a quick fix that would help. There are between $1 Trillion and $2 Trillion of Cash oversees earned and already taxed in foreign countries by US companies. Many of these would like to bring the money home to invest in the US. If they do, they lose over 50% in Federal, State, and Local Taxes.
Unless this changes, that money is staying outside the country. Mitt could get congress to offer a window of reduced Federal taxes to such companies to get the money back in the USA to put us back to work. That would result in a 10 - 20% increase in business activity, which will mean jobs in 6 - 12 Months.
MCpaddy, I said this before but what help exactly has President Obama received from the GOP? This is a bit vindictive but if Romney wins and the GOP takes control of the Senate, I hope that the Dems become the party of NO and use the filibuster as much as the GOP did to stop nearly everything the President tried to do. I know that would be horrible for the economy and Americans, but the GOP didn't care and let America founder so why not the Dems do the same thing. After all, fair is fair.
Don987/It is the favourable climate, i.e. lack of virtually any true control, that has caused this whole mess,in the Western world. How do you think that the wealth of the 1% has grown so astronomically? That is why thinking people are blaming the Bush Presidency. He has allowed the S.C,O.T.U.S. to be politically polarized so that the Rep/T.P. with oligarchic with unlimited money can force any bills, in which they are defeated, to be either defeated or watered down enough to be nearly in-effective
list...
Oh....Ok....all the so-called "thinking people" always think the same way you do.
Very convenient.
Do they all vote the same way you do too ??? If so, many of your fellow "thinking" voters are not too impressive of a bunch.
Really? You needed a poll to figure this out?!
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't fart-cut their way to 1st place in a 1-person line.
Like the third Reich, liberals also continue to repeat lies thinking they will become true of repeated enough. It didn't work for Nazi's, it won't work with you Sorry.
Sure, like John Kyle pointing out that he helped write a bill in 2007 that would have provided a long term solution to the immigration mess but Barack Obama voted against it.
Oh, wait...it was Barack Obama who voted for that bill in committee and John Kyle who voted to sustain a filibuster.
Now, which side is it practicing the Big Lie technique, VP? Thanks for your input from the Ministry of Propaganda.
Of course Obama inherited the economy. So did every other President. It's what you do about it for the next three years that determines whether you deserve a second term. I wonder how many people think Obama has not done enough to turn things around.
You can't do anything about paying down debt when you've inherited a deficit. In the first nanosecond of his first fiscal year he inherited 1.5 trillion dollars in debt from Bushes last year deficit.
Really? Perhaps you might want to go back and explain that to Mr. Clinton. I'm sure he would be surprised
Bush inherited about 6 trillion in debt, but a surplus from Clinton. If he had continued to pay down the debt with the surplus the country would be in much better shape. Instead he gave the ability to pay off the debt away with all his tax cuts that he continued as he started 2 wars. So instead of paying off debt he increased it by about 5 trillion and left a 1.5 trillion deficit in his last year and close to 11 trillion in debt.
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't find the crease in an unfolded piece of paper.
The liberal fascist Reichwing will not win, get over it.
You're getting a little creepy, Phil...
He inherited the economy 3 1/2 years ago. Sometimes you have to admit you are over your head.
Oh, don't blaime VP, Shocked...he just got his copy of Jonah Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism". He's just running a little behind since everyone else realizes this piece of shlock "journalism" was thoroughly debunked over 2 years ago.
Well Bush inherited the Irag and Afghan mess from Clinton...so what they all have inherited some mess or major issues the US gets into. The point is do something about for the positive and Obama has not.
bush created the iraq mess with his search for non-existent wmd's and to chase saddam's sorry ass around iraq. afghanistan was his response to 9-11. which rock did you crawl out from?
This is such an unbelievably ignorant statement that I don't even want to reply but feel compelled. So 9-11 happened on Bush's watch, after Clinton had left the office. In retaliation George Bush sent our military into Afghanistan and then very shortly after that into Iraq. Clinton had been out of the office for a while when all this happened. What kind of idiot would try to blame this one on Clinton. Republicans are just grasping at whatever they can make up now and this is proof.
@Johndoe.
Dude, really?
But anyway. GOD,GUNS AND GAYS...VOTE REPUBLICAN!
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't taste salt on a bovine salt lick.
Bin Laden himself laid 9/11 at Clinton's feet. Since Clinton turned tail and ran after Mogadishu, Bin Laden said even more body bags might get America out of the middle east completely. So from Bin Ladens own words, Bush inherited 9/11 from Clinton.
And still, the democrat Reichwing will lose in Nov, despite your ACORN and New Black Panther Gestapo storm troopers.
Phil...you do realize that you are quoting bin Laden to make your argument, right? That really doesn't put you in with a good crowd...although it does confirm much of what I already believed about the teabaggers.
What was that you said?
Outside of borrowing trillions we can't pay, I can't say a lot has changed in 4 years.
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't read the first page of a pre-primer coloring book.
And still, the democrat Reichwing will lose in Nov, despite your ACORN and New Black Panther Gestapo storm troopers.
Never Stop Asking Questions
Do you just cut/paste and insult or do you have anything to say? Please come up with something of quit posting. I don't think it really matters though, I have Ignored your posts after the 3rd time I read the same statement.
Bush: Wars 1.4 Trillion, Tax Cuts 1.8 Trillion, Discretionary 608
Billion, Medicare 180 Billion, Stimulus 773 Billion, total 5.07 Trillion.
Obama:
Stimulus 711 Billion, Discretionary 278 Billion, Tax Cuts 425 Billion, Health
Reform 125 Billion, total 1.44 Trillion.
These are the items each president had individual responsibility for. Obama didn't have any control over the interest on existing debt.
Meaning that 4 in 10 (read: Party of No Teathuglicans) think that the Bush Recession of 2007 was Obama's fault?
He wasn't even inagurated until 2009.
The Reichwing couldn't find the direction of the wind with a 100 ft. tree emblazed by Party of No blood: Napalm.
More liberal lies. Bush's war effort was $877 billion. Tax cuts INCREASED revenue, look it up on the treasury web site.
Obama is the only president in history to have $1.3 trillion deficits and he's done it every year. Normally government is 18% of GDP, Obama ran it up to 25%.
And still, the democrat Reichwing will lose in Nov, despite your ACORN and New Black Panther Gestapo storm troopers.
I don't think that you are getting your 1985, $3.35 Minimum Wage that the Koch brothers are paying you to troll on these vines, Valhalla Phil.
No wonder you have no "friends."
Buckwheat was in Congress when Bush was president, and voted on everything, so he inherited from himself.
Obama/Biden out in Noveber
Romey 2012
Buckwheat? Really? You prove the uneducated morons on the Right want to bring this country down. Clue. The economy crashed in Sept. 2008. I will take at least a decade for it to return to what it once was. And your do nothing, partisan hack Congress is not helping either. I shake my head at the absolute stupidity and racism on the Right. Rednecks. You're all rednecks.
dobi#'s -- President Obama ('Buckwheat' -- seriously???) was in the Senate, not Congress. He was not a US Senator until after the war in Afganistan started. He did not vote on the war or many of the other measures Bush/Cheney implemented before he was in the Senate.
Your hate is showing.
Vegas - duh..., Congress is the legislative branch of government which is comprised of the House and Senate...
dobi - your total lack of intelligence is only surpassed by your lack of integrity. Your parents must be soooo proud. Actually, President Obama voted against the war in Iraq. Whoever buckwheat is (my guess, your relative) he or she didn't vote because they didn't hold office.
Obama/Biden 2012
blah blah blah
Typical, NBC liberal biased poll. 4 years and Obama has done squat other than push for a health insurance bill that will be tossed out on Thursday. He was never qualified for the office of POTUS.
Reality sucks for Republicans. Notice that they not only hate Black, Mexican, Gay, Lesbian, Girl Scouts, Women, Muslims and Democrats, they also hate facts and history. Now, give a Republican a good propaganda statement and they are all over it like ants on candy. They love it.
2010, Scott Walker, San Jose, San Diego, Montana, and soon Obamacare, reality sucks for democrats.
Democrats hate everybody. Black unemployment at record levels, Hispanic unemployment at record levels, a record 40 months of 8%+ unemployment with no end in sight.
Oh no! Facts. A Republican's worst enemy. So, what do Republicans do to combat facts?
They turn to name calling like little children. In addition, they really like to make up their own facts. It's easy for them. There are no limits. Just BS away and that's their truth.
True. These Right Wingers on this and every other blog are nothing more than trolls. They don't offer meaningful dialogue. When we call them stupid because they post nonsense, they're upset. I would love to see someone on the Right make a meaningful comment on any blog without parroting Fix News, or copying and pasting. They can't.
Forgot to add: Republican Speciality: Racism in dobi's comment.
So the Democratically controlled Senate has not taken up a budget in over 1000 days. How's that for a fact. Not to mention that same party held the House until early 2011. Lame duck?? Duck is hardly the word I would have chosen.
KayinLA, you still own the crash. Deal. It's called history. It will be written as so. Bush and Cheney took this country to the brink of total collapse all to please the elite.
That's a pathetic liberal lie. It was the democrat congress that brought us to the brink and if 2010 didn't happen we would be already over the edge.
Nice try.
Phil, I hope you are not the type to take your fustration out on your family. But you need to face up to how it is. Republicans are responsible for the economic mess in 2008.
And a congress that won't let him try to fix it.
He did inherit an economy that was in bad shape, but what has he done to fix it?
Now the question is, do we elect Obama again and hope that, since he won't care about getting re-elected, he'll be more aggressive and do a better job in his 2nd term? Or do we give Romney a shot and hope whatever he does is better than whatever Obama would do?
I wish there was a way to elect someone who wasn't a politician. Pandering to whatever group(s) you need to vote for you does not an efficient system make.
And the republicans made it worse by losing our AAA bond rating. That really helps nail the deficit.
lol
who was president during the downgrade?
It was Boener and his Trash Everything American congress that caused the downgrade by flinching on expanding the debt ceiling.
There's plenty of blame to go around.
Jesus
The Democrats under Harry Reid put the skids to the debt deal between Obama and Bohner. Maybe you need a education. Here take a gander at this.
The reason that the 4 Trillion DEAL was turned down was it went from 800 Billion in REVENUES agreed upon by the Republicans to over 1 TRILLION in Revenues thanks to Harry Reid and the Democrats in Congress. The Democrats broke the Deal not the Republicans.
It is clear, however, that Boehner and Cantor were ready to accept up to $800 billion in revenue measures as part of a grand bargain. But when that number jumped, in part because of pressure from Democrats, the talks broke down.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/07/no-deal-debt-ceiling-talks-between-obama-boehner-break-down/
So I think you should do some research before you guzzle the Kool-Aid.
FREE YOUR MIND AND YOUR ASS WILL FOLLOW
Sometimes the left wingnuts need to wake up. You get your panties all bunched in a wad because Republicans don't give Mr Obama credit for "getting" Bin Laden - screaming "it happened on his watch".
Then you turn around and refuse for Obama to be accountable for the debt downgrade, 8%+ unemployment, and historic increases in the National debt which also "happened on his watch".
You can't have it both ways. You want him to get credit for events that happened "on his watch", he takes the responsibility/accountability for screwing the pooch "on his watch" as well.
Leaders Take Responsibility. Losers Place Blame.
Good point. However, Barack said he would fix it and he has not even come close. Clearly, without question he has made it way worse than it should have been. This is not even in dispute at this stage of the game. Time to course correct with a new leader. Our current POTUS is in over his head with regard to the economy.
Who are the stupid four in ten who say Obama did not inherit the sour economy? Were they living under a rock during the Bush years?
The 4 are the GOP "base". They never waiver....
lol
what stupid fukin article
spin it however you'd like,
the socialist is gone.
Maybe he did.
But Bill Clinton started it by signing the "Home for every American regardless of income or credit".
By the time Bush got in office the ball was rolling far too fast to stop.
AND he didn't inherit anything.
He did not have to take on the job he is so inept at.
Viewer, time to quit blaming Clinton for that. Yes he signed the bill. But he did not force Banks and mortgage companies to make loans they knew were no good. The banks knew they could make these bad loans and never have to worry about them because they were bundling them up and selling them off. They knew they wouldn't get stuck.
So if you want to blame someone blame the bankers and mortgage brokers.
verno
Read this from the CRA(Community Reinvestment Act) signed By Carter and passed by a Democrat Congress in 1977.
SEC. 802. (a) The Congress finds that--
(1) regulated financial institutions are required by law to demonstrate that their deposit facilities serve the convenience and needs of the communities in which they are chartered to do business;
(2) the convenience and needs of communities include the need for credit services as well as deposit services; and
(3) regulated financial institutions have continuing and affirmative obligation to help meet the credit needs of the local communities in which they are chartered.
(b) It is the purpose of this title to require each appropriate Federal financial supervisory agency to use its authority when examining financial institutions, to encourage such institutions to help meet the credit needs of the local communities in which they are chartered consistent with the safe and sound operation of such institutions.
http://www.fdic.gov/regulations/laws/rules/6500-2515.html
Verno, he signed the bill and pocketed countless "bills" doing it.
You cannot blame the banks for taking advantage what the government was supposed to back up.
Significant changes to the original CRA were effected by the Congress in 1999 by the repeal of "Glass-Steagall" and the addition of "Phil Gramm's" "Services Modernization Act". Additional piss poor regulatory changes were effected during the administration of GW Bush during 2005 and 2007. Prior to these, the program worked rather well.
slodon,
Die hard liberals will never admit the facts or truths.
They will just have to see for themselves.
Really Viewer? Of course its easy to shroud yourself in incestuous amplification and blame low income and minority homeowners and less educated biking those highly educated mortgage moguls, with the governents complicity, of course. But the FACT is that...Only 6% of the subprime mortgages at the time even qualified under CRA provisions...and 80% of those , sold at traditional banks and thrifts were PRIME loans.

MSNBC always has loaded questions... ie. Was it Bush or Obama? The real answer is both, or should I say gov't in general.
yes... it's a repost... but it's warranted
1) universal health care for all sponges (Intial Estimate: 900 Million Reality: 1.7 Trillion) (which was eventually ruled unconstitutional)
2) income redistribution
3) first presidnet in history downgraded
4) fast and furious
5) keystone pipeline pass
6) Solynda
7) spread of socialism
8) most on food stamps in history
9) most on welfare in history
10) Nobel Prize
11) Free DVDs to the British Prime Minsiter
12) apologizing for everything expect his failings
12) securing the Olympics in Chicago
13) shovel read jobs
14) Gas up over 100%
15) For the 50% that pay taxes (not most of you here) Jan 1 --> Apr 17 goes to taxes
16) Unemployment rate
17) poverty up among CHILDREN 22% since he took office (guess who this impacts most?)
18) violated war powers act
19) Failed To Enforce Existing Immigration Laws
Put down the KOOL-AID IDIOT, lies make you look stupid
I think I've seen this post by someone else. Cut and paste from the troll library.
Cut and paste -- with typos.
You posted the same thing about 3 times yesterday and got shot down every time if I recall. I think you listen to Rush too much. You should know by now that he's all about the "shock value" and never tells his listeners (the 4 of you) anything that isn't twisted and distorted.
Name one item that isn't true! You can't.
Right on the mark, but you know liberals, they CANNOT handle or comprehend the FACTS and TRUTH about their worthless, clueless messiah!
What about Solyndra is Obama's fault?
(This should be good....)
Do we have another fabrication from the world of MSNBC.NBC. We, the people will see who is to blame in November when Obama is voted OUT of office. Obama Must Go. OMG.
S. Francis, so it's a fabrication because you disagree with it. But you agree with the same pollsters that say that over 50% want the Health Bill declared unconstitutional. That's a truthful poll right. Then they are not fabrications. Talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth at one time. Geeez.
You don't like a piece of news, so you trash it? It's true. Most SANE people understand that the economy crashed so hard in 2008 we almost entered the 2nd Great Depression. Most THINKING people understand this. But the Right will accept anything its President does, even if it hurts them personally. This kind of party loyalty only existed Nazi Germany; but the Right are boot clicking, lockstepping party above personal pain domestic terrorists.
It's democrats that are the current Reich. OWS, SEIU thugs, New Black Panthers, ACORN, etc. are their Gestapo storm troopers.
Most THINKING people know it's congress that impacts the economy and this disaster happened on democrats watch, including senator Obama. He inherited it as president, he helped cause it as senator. Get over it.
Quick and simple. 6 of 10 blame Republicans. x100. 60 percent of Americans think Republicans caused the crash. Jabber all you want Phil.
I bet the way the question was worded has a lot to do with the responses - YA THINK!
