Veepstakes: Rice says 'no way' on VP

CHRISTIE: Romney raises money in New Jersey with the Garden State governor tonight.

JINDAL: Ramesh Ponnuru likes Bobby Jindal, per GOP 12.

PORTMAN: Dick Cheney thought Rob Portman was tougher in debate prep than Joe Lieberman was in real life.

RICE: Condi Rice again ruled out being veep despite her rousing speech in Utah before Romney donors, et al. "I didn't run for student council president; I don't see myself in any way in elective office. I love policy, I'm not particularly fond of politics,” she said on CBS, adding, “I'm saying there is no way I will do this, because it's really not me."

Despite her disdain for politics, NBC’s Alex Moe reports on Rice’s speech at a fundraiser before a conservative women’s group on Capitol Hill, her first such Capitol Hill fundraising event.

RUBIO: “Before the Supreme Court of the United States gutted much of the Arizona immigration law in a decision released on Monday, Rubio tackled the subject on an appearance on ‘Fox and Friends’ on Fox News earlier in the day,” Sunshine State News writes. Despite Romney having called the Arizona law a “model” for the nation, Rubio said, “I think Arizona-type laws are not the ideal. But we have to understand why states like Arizona did it and if we really don’t like Arizona laws then the federal government should do its job.”

Still Rubio praised Romney on immigration, calling him “the most compelling voice in favor of legal immigration that we’ve seen in quite some time.”

I think we all know the CIA and the military did THEIR job, during both the Bush and Obama administrations, of pursuing terrorists and eliminating threats, however, Condi Rice utterly failed at HER job, of creating diplomatic relationships to enable the US to lead the world.

Name a Condi success in foreign policy. Name one. Hillary Clinton's State Deptmartment, on the other hand, worked with our allies to get rid of Qaddafy (whom Condi simply charmed.) If Rice were still at the State Dept, you know that Chinese activist Hillary sprang would be on the rack in some Chinese prison now, instead of choosing his classes in New York.

Condi Rice had a lovely relationship with Vladimer Putin, whom she now says cannot be forced to help remove Assad, and the Obama administration shouldn't even try. You know what, Condi? You're a beautiful woman, smart as heck, and a snappy dresser, but you have no business offering criticism of the Obama administration after botching your own turn at the wheel.

they all say "no way" because saying 'yes' is like saying 'yes' to a Titanic ticket.

No one wants to be associated with Romney. Instead of the Titanic I think it's a little more like Custer's last stand - and let's hope this really is the LAST stand for Romney. He is becoming so tiring!

Why not, Kindalousy? After the dismal job you did as NSA and the joke you were a SOS, how badly could you screw it up? You and Romney (should that polished #### actually get elected, and this country was psychotic enough to almost elect Bush twice) could have a contest to see who could bend over further for big business.

She was probably hand strung by the Bush. This is why Colin got the boot from Bushie cause he was a politician and Bushie didn't see being told by Colin. Just like the present President is telling the same guys things and the are all acting like Bushie. Naw , she did what she was told. No more certainly (unless of course she had the green light) certainly no less. Smart yes, bright no.

The GatewayBull - Colin Powell resigned - was not booted - once he found out he had been used to push the Bush/Cheney lies about WMD's. He has too much integrity and class to have continued working for the lying Bush.

Sen. Rubio says Gov. Romney is “the most compelling voice in favor of legal immigration that we’ve seen in quite some time.” What does that mean? And, who is against legal immigration? Hispanic man speak with forked tongue.

Skip, I agree with you. That particular sentence really struck me as odd. Romney does not have a compelling voice about anything, much less immigration. Look how long it took him to comment on the Supreme Court's ruling on the Arizona law!

I like Condoleezza Rice. I'm reading her book No Higher Honor right now. It's brilliantly written. Coupling her with Romney would be the best thing that could happen to our nation. What a powerhouse combo that would be. A Romney/Rice ticket would be phenomenal.

The only potential problems I see is that she's out politicking right now: raising money for SHEPAC, speaking out for Romney, and still meeting with foreign leaders around the world. But somehow, she doesn't think she's a politics person. Someone needs to wake up to their new inner-voice. If she was asked and said no, she ought to run back, apologize, and say she'll do it.

This is my nike ad for Condi - JUST DO IT!
