PAWLENTY: “Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty says he's told Mitt Romney's presidential campaign to look elsewhere for a running mate,” the AP writes. Huffington Post with the quote: “I indicated that I think I can best serve Gov. Romney in other ways, in particular as a volunteer and surrogate speaker in places where he can't go,” Pawlenty said. "I've encouraged people who've asked this question to, in the campaign, to look at other prospects.”
Of course, we recall Joe Biden saying something similar in 2008…

Isn't that just about exactly what the VP does?
I mean, helping to serve the presidents cause from a distance a surrogate speaker is pretty much a main focus of the VP.
Just come out and say it TIM I don't want to be on YOUR ticket!!!!
Watching Marco Rubio on Meet The Press this Sunday, the word that popped into my mind was "slimeball." I used to think he was a bright guy, and I still recognize he has several I.Q. points over most Republican leaders, however, it's evident he's in politics for his own gain, and certainly not to help fellow Hispanics, much less middleclass voters, in general.
Pawlenty makes my skin crawl, but at least he can fake being interested in the issues better than Rubio. I don't know this Portman guy, but maybe he could bring some seriousness to the Romney ticket. Obviously, being a Democrat, I shouldn't care, but as an American, I want to see both parties put forth decent candidates.
Hmmm, I didn't see Rubio wearing an American flag lapel pin...I'd say he's not a "real" American...just what doesn't he like about this great place we call America...?
Mitt is going to have some difficulty in a VP pick, most evangalicals will not agree to the agenda of a Morman, to evangalicals Mitt belongs to a cult.
In other words, Pawlenty wouldn't touch Romney with a 10 foot pole. He doesn't want to be near the political disaster that is Mitt Romney!
Obama/Biden 2012
Pawlenty doen't want to be on the Romney's losing ticket. Getting on as Mitt's VP is like getting on the Titanic.
Military Members, Veterans, Military retirees; note that Romney PROMOTED THE DRAFT during the Viet Nam War, then skipped out to France for extraordinary lenth of time when church missionary tours were limited. When Romney came home, he sided with his dad that the whole Viet Nam War was a scam and that he was against the war.
Promoting the draft, while Americans were dieing, he skipped out, then says he wishes he could have participated. His whole life has been a lie.
