2012: Another poll, another narrow Obama lead

A Pew poll shows Obama ahead 50-46%. Obama was up seven points in May, 49-42%. Obama is seen more favorably than Romney. Obama’s a slight net-positive 50/48 fav/unfav. Romney, on the other hand, is a net-negative, 38/45.

But once again it’s pessimism about the state of the country that is holding Obama back. Just look at the 40-point gulf among those saying they are satisfied versus those who say they are dissatisfied about “the way things are going in this country today.” Just 28% say they’re satisfied versus a whopping 68% who say they are not. That dissatisfied number has dropped below 60% just once in Obama’s presidency in the poll – back in May 2009.

MSNBC.com’s Tom Curry: “The Supreme Court on Thursday dealt an election-year blow to public-sector unions with a ruling that limits their ability to collect money for use in political campaigns from non-union employees at workplaces where a union is the bargaining agent.”

On a side note, 28% of those polled are politicians...

MSNBC par of the Obama presidential campaign continue giving false information to mislead the public opinion, MSNBC poll is simply bias. Gallup polls and Rassmusen polls , who have much more credibility, have a different result. Gallup and Rasmussen polls the latest show Romney leading 47% to 45 % in favor of Obama. Mitt Romney never lead Obama in previous polls and this is a significant improvement for the Republican candidate. In the Congressional vote also predict a win for Republicans. The job approval for Obama is going down to 44%.

At least McCain was liked by the Republicans. Tell me, why don't the Republicans like Romney? I don't like Romney because he was my governor for four years so I'm affected by his poor policies but I'm confused about why the people who selected Romney as their candidate don't like him?

Has it occurred to anybody else that the reason for dissatisfaction with what's going on in the country today has to do with the fact the Republicans have put road blocks up at every turn -- even on things they supported in the past -- just because they want to thwart the President and the country be damned? Yes, I'm dissatisfied with how things are going, but it doesn't have anything to do with the President!!

Even if you were correct (and you're not) that Obama's inability to keep his promises was due to lack of Republican support; so what! It doesn't matter who is to blame. Obama couldn't make progress in his first term; why would anyone imagine he could do any better during a second term. A Romney administration will not have to deal with Obama's fictional problem and will, therefore, be far more effective.

Democrats are trying to blame Republicans in Congress for long time even , when Howard Dean said recently that Democrats are not going to work in Congress with Republicans. However according to Politico.com , Congress is moving ahead ,new pieces of legislation. The failure of Obama is cause to his narrow ideology and his dictatorial manners, not allowing any kind of dialog with the opposite group, this is a lesson he never learn from Clinton. This is why Clinton is considered much better president than Obama. This is why Romney will succeed, he knows how to work with both sides.

Good luck with that, but 47% of the people says the contraire Obama is doing a poor job and those numbers are going up. 66 % disagree with Obama ( and his European partner Holland) to increase spending. I don't know why the MSM is so surprised by the SCOTUS union decision or Romney's support. Read and understand the code language in his speeches. He is advocating national right to work and the systematic repeal of the New Deal labor laws. Look who his financial backers are. These are the same people who as business owners are morally opposed to any worker union rights and were the proponents of the adoption of right to work in Indiana and the chief financial backers of Scott Walker. There is no grey areas.

Obama will lose because of the unethical behavior of NBC. I voted for him the first time (got caught up in the historical "First Black president" excitement). I don't want him to win a 2nd term on lies, but on honesty. So far (1) NBC ignored the changes on the 911 zimmerman call ("he looks suspicious... I think he is black") to make him look racist (of course the blacks like idiots fell for it). (2) NBC reporter changed Romney's speech, but thanks to Youtube they were caught in their unethical reporting. (3) NBC refuses to report on Obama-Holder cover up, a big Nixonian type of news. Romney is pretty smart, he's being very quiet and following Ronald Reagan's advice: "when your opponent is making a FOOL of himself, DON'T INTERRUPT HIM". Plus, he check-mated Obama: he forced Obama to bypass congress and give citizenship to illegal immigrants BECAUSE ROMNEY MADE IT SEEM LIKE HE WAS GOING TO CHOOSE RUBIO, and the FOOL OBlAh-blah-MA fell for it! Also, Hispanic like myself know that if Obama wanted to help Hispanics he would have been addressing Comprehensive Immigration Reform years ago.

Racism - you've completely ignored the facts of the Zimmerman case. Zimmerman claims he was beaten - he most likely was earlier - but clearly not by Trayvon Martin. Trayvon - according to the coroner and the funeral director (who will testify at trial) has a small laceration on his ring finger - nothing more. They both indicate he could not have been in a fight where he hit anyone without sustaining more injuries.

Try again and next time try not to be so racist!

As far as Romney goes, he's not being smart - he is who he is and he can't talk or debate or anything. He's totally incompetent as a "leader." Pathetic that this is the best the GOP has to offer. How low a once great party has sunk!

This will be a tight one, and my current Projection: (Currently the states that will play the biggest in November are Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, Florida and Wisconsin. However, if the election were held today, Obama would win Michigan, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin. Also, for now I’m placing Florida back into the Romney column.

The key months for this race are going to be September and October. And as far as the debates, Romney may have a problem in this area.

For now, the new totals are:

                Projected Winner Obama 297

                Projected Loser Romney 241

Yeah, I see a very close popular vote; but the electoral vote will go for Obama. It's possible it might be similar to Gore/Bush but with the outcome going Obama's way. With the electoral map looking the way it does, I think it will be very hard for the Republicans to win a presidential election for some time. There will have to be a major change is some of these states for that to happen.

I do think Obama's going to have to deal with a Republican house and senate though, and he really needs to learn a different approach with them. The hard line he has taken hasn't worked in the past, and I think they will be even less willing to work with him next time around.

I don't think President Obama has taken a "hard line" with the Republicans. He has been way too accommodating and given the other side too much credit in hopes that they would soften their hard line. It hasn't worked so now I hope he gets tough. I hope he lets them know that he is President of the United States and will be for another 4 years. I'm tired of him being treated like an interloper or, as someone said a few days ago, a "squatter in the White House". It's past time they started treating him with respect.

I'm dissatisfied with the direction of this country and Obama has nothing to do with it.

I'm dissatisfied with the lousy way news organizations are doing their jobs. Drama queens everyone of them.

I'm dissatisfied with a Supreme Court that is more political than anytime since the early 19th century.

I'm dissatisfied with a voting public that is so clearly uninformed. And it is such a small voting block compared to the number of eligible voters.

MSNBC has excellent polling. After all, they predicted Walker to lose in Wisconsin and they also predicted a huge landslide victory for dems in 2010...

Only Rasmussen predicted those evil Republicans to win in 2010 and that evil white male Walker to win in Wisconsin...

Now..Rasmussen has Romney up over the Muslim-in-Chief by 4 points...

I guess Rasmussen must be racist......

Gypsy you are forgetting a convenent truth - bubba in the south and the SBC membership (Southern Baptist) are not going to vote for a Morman, if you think playing the religion card is going to help you then perhaps you should drive around cities other than Salt Lake? The rest of us know that Joseph Smith's vison is a fake, perhaps he ate too many peyote buttons? Stayed out in the sun without his hat too long? Not sure, but he founded a cult, it is still a cult, and while they say they no longer practice multiple marriages, I'm sure that is not what they tell the maid, nanny, or housekeeper. How do I know this? I know some people who grew up in that cult, defected and now tell the truth about it. I've lived in bubbland all my live, bubba is not going to vote for a Morman, that is a fact you can take to the bank.

The south is solidly Republican. The last time a southern state went Democratic (other than Florida) was Louisiana in 1996. I don't see that happening this time. If Obama didn't get them last election with all the "hope and change", he sure isn't going to get them this time.

sadindependent - Obama took VA, NC and FL in 2008 and will do so again in 2012. He may take a few more as Union Baby indicates. Southern Christians will have a hard time pulling a lever for a mormon. They'll just stay home and not vote.

No Mormons aren't Christians, they believe a lot of things that are blasphemous to Christians in regards to Jesus and God, and they believe a lot of fantasies about Jesus being in America and other complete and utter hogwash, unsubstantiated by archaeology...whereas historically and archaeologically we can prove a million facts about Christianity mentioned in the Bible, such as what coins were used, cities that were named, nations that existed etc. All the nations mentioned in the Book of Mormon are pure flights of fantasy with no historical support whatsoever, unlike the Babylonians, Assyrians, Persians of the Bible.

But, cultist Mormons are nice people though. Good, All-American types.

Actually, the Christian New Testament fails the history test just as much as the BOM does. The only book that has consistently met archaeological tests is the Jewish Tanach.

But that is another subject for another time..

Nope, you can go visit the cities they talk about in the NT. The coins like the denarius are historical fact. The rulers mentioned like Herod and Pontius Pilate are all historical fact. They mention many of the Roman emperors, etc etc.

Contrary to the fiction in the Book of Mormon where Joe Smith just concocted a whole imaginary culture in North America that never existed.

Obama is a Christian and he is a good man. He is our President and was elected by the majority of the voting public and he is trying to do a good job for all of us. You who hate him would put a man in who supports the top 1% period. Who sent our jobs off shore. Who flip flops and cannot communicate with anyone. He was a bully in school and even a bully to his dog. Indifferent and greedy are not good traits to have when you are responisble for the whole country not just the top 2%.

Romney is what the greedy and indifferent love however and he is not a Christian, he is a Mormon and a draft dodger. So all you haters of Obama because he is black have to choose between a real draft dodger and a half black man. All of us have to decide who we want to run the country but deciding on the man who is in the tank for Norquist and right wing corporates is you turning your back on the retirees, the working class and the poor for that matter.

If you are and were so upset about drug dealers having guns sold to them why haven't you gone after the gun dealers and the manufactrurers and the NRA who have turned a blind eye for years so that they can profit from sales of guns and semi automatic weapons? Yes, most of us are dissatisfied, but I think that dissatisfaction is directed at the obstructionist extreme right-wing. The tea-baggers vowed that, if they were elected, their one goal was to see to it that POTUS didn't get a second term. If someone who was running for Congress and wanted my vote for the single reason of seeing to it that the sitting President doesn't get a second term, I would think he was nuts. I'd be thinking, you mean if you're elected, you are telling me that you have no knowledge and you don't care about any of the issues people care about in your district. I am mistified by the people who voted for a tea-bagger and against their own self-interest. Oh, wait----I forgot about the fact that you are all racist white people. Do you old racists who get Social Security and Medicare realize that voting for the whitest white man, and he gets elected, you are forfieting your own well-being? And mine, too. I believe you racist whities would vote for Charlie Manson. After all, he's white and he wanted to start a race war.

This witch hunt, not calling members of the previous Administration to testify about who know what in the Bush Administration and only allowing in the testimony that they believe would do harm to Obama is proof of the corruption that Issa and Congress is perpetrating at the tax payer's expense. That ass-hat Issa called Obama and his Administration the most corrupt Administration ever. I say that Issa and his band of Norquist suck ups are the most corrupt Congress ever. Corrupt, DO NOTHING, sell outs of their country ever. This is a registered voters poll which is less accurate than a likely voters poll. It polls people who are registered to vote, whether or not they say they are very likely to vote this fall.

Amongst likely voters, Flipper would only be behind 1% or so in this poll. Amongst likely voters in Rasmussen today, Flipper leads by 5%, 48% to 43%.

                              Many registered voters don't vote.

Why does the MSM and the Republican hateful construe that the Right/Wrong Track numbers are a reflection of what any President does in office?

Most people are dissatisfied with the direction of this country based upon the actions of the US Congress, not based upon who is president. The MSM and Republican haters consistently attempt to paint this President as if he has unchecked, unlimited power. They ignore the basic fact that all Presidents are at the mercy of the Congress when it comes to the implementation of his policies and agendas.

Misinforming (lying to) people has become an accepted practice with the MSM and Republicans. I would like the polling firms to add a subcategory question(s) to their Right/Wrong Track poll question, and then we'd know what factor(s) contribute to the how a respondent answered the questions. Some additional/clarification questions could be:

Do you think the current President is responsible for the direction that the country is taking?

Do you think the current House of Representative is responsible for the direction that the country is taking?

Do you think the current Senate is responsible for the direction that the country is taking?

Do you think the current Congress (House and Senate are responsible for the direction that the country is taking?

Do you think all three (President, House and Senate) are responsible for the direction that the country is taking?

Answering these questions yes or no would add clarification to this poll question and put to rest the ability of the MSM and both political parties to simply attach the results of the Right/Wrong Track poll question to the President only.

Let's face reality. Obama has already lost this election, and Mitt Romney will be our heroic leader for the next EIGHT YEARS.

The very name "Obama" will soon become synonomous with poor money management, lying, deflecting blame, and overall incompetence.

Honey, where did all our money go?? Oh, sorry dear, it just got Obamaed. Not my fault of course. LOL

I think you are wrong and I think that polls are skewed depending the the outcome the poll taker wants the outcome to be. I also want to know how you justify supporting Norquist suck ups and a Congress that has done nothing to help the situation but spent tax payer's money trying to make scandal? Why are you supporting the most corrupt Congress ever? Why are you supporting NO Sayers and stupidity from your side? Are you one of the top 2% or what other excuse do you have?

Rasmussen has the breakdown of voters: white males 76% Romney, white females 54% Romney if this trend continues, Romney will be the next President of USA. Obama has polarized this country concerning RACE. He has been the Great Divider instead of the great uniter that many had hoped he would be. Affirmative Action reached clear to the highest office in our land with Obama and we have suffered the result. Never again will we place anyone in this highest office for "social justice".

Yeah, you still believe that White people make up the majority of the population in the United States don't you.

Sorry, that is no longer true. And, if it were not true then why are the Republican dominated states instituting voter restriction (oops I mean voter identification) laws in all of these states? People who are confident of their superiority would not resort to such clearly Jim Crow era legislation in order to keep the number of poor, elderly, and minority voters from casting a ballot in the upcoming election.

I don't own a car any more but I still have a Florida Drivers License. I have it so I may vote this November. Which ever state people live in, particularly a state with a Republican Governor, people need to keep track of the voter id laws. If a special id is needed, get it, and if transportation is an issue don't hesitate to ask for help. The Department of Justice will do what it can to prevent voter disenfranchising, the rest of us must do everything we can to vote.

WE NEED MORE regulations not less deregulation is NEVER the right answer ever. There is no situation in which deregulation is the right answer to a problem.

The Gypsy, well not at all a Gypsy. They as a group stay tightly knitted, into themselves and their way of life and rarely interfere with the public except for muggings, pickpocketing and pimping their young women while teaching their young to beg. Seems like the Gypsy, with his one dimensional thought patterns fits right into their fold. I suspect I passed him on the street once in Venice, showing an arm slightly elongated and attempting to convince donors that he was or is disfigured. Go away Gypsy for even your own will disown you.

The agenda of the right and the rich is clear - make the POTUS a one term President, awaken the KK at all levels and into all geographic areas, strike the drum for the death knell of the Black Man and his Black family in the White House - return it to white folks, yesssirrreee Bob.

No other agenda - a bloodletting if you will on the bellies of good citizens and those who support a true democratic society, one that is not purchased outright. Public campaign financing will rid the universe of those like this frail and comedic character called the Gypsy. If you are an Asian pal, I know you cannot dance, nor live the romantic lifestyle of the real Gypsies. You are the guy over in the corner feeling his scrotum and wishing for better results.

I see American black culture is as putrid as I hear. But I wonder if you can keep your mind off scrotums for a change.

So tell us, why do you hate white people? Because they put your people in prison when you rob, rape, steal and murder?

Do you think it will make you more acceptable to some to believe in hatred of others? You would think that if "your people" were subjected to racism, mistreatment and hatred, you would not want to become the very thing that "your people" were a victim of. In the 1800's "your people" did not have a chance in hell of getting any justice in a racist America, even if you did rise up and try to fight for your rights. If you are all that evolved as you are trying so hard to tell everyone here on the vine that you are, dogging whole ethinic groups of people will not get you there.

One day China may own the US, if they do not already, I wonder what the good old white boys are going to do then? Some always seem to have a need to put someone else down to feel adequate about themselves, sad but true.
