Obama: His own immigration tightrope

“A week after the bombshell announcement he was blocking the deportation of young illegal immigrants, President Barack Obama will arrive in Florida on Friday flush with confidence,” the Tampa Bay Times writes. “Hispanics, a growing voting power, are energized. A new poll shows broad support for the policy. And GOP rival Mitt Romney is struggling to respond. When both candidates address the influential National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials in Orlando this week, make no mistake, Obama will have the upper hand. But beneath the image of the victorious defender of immigrants is a starkly different reality. Obama has been tougher on deportations than any modern president — expelling nearly 1.5 million people so far. Many have been criminals, but the effort has also torn apart families and hurt some of the young people Obama now wants to help.”

The Washington Post’s fact checker Glenn Kessler calls the Obama campaign’s claim that Romney outsourced as governor “overblown” and gives it four Pinocchios. “The Obama campaign fails to make its case. On just about every level, this ad is misleading, unfair and untrue, from the use of ‘corporate raider’ to its examples of alleged outsourcing,” Kessler writes. “Simply repeating the same debunked claims won’t make them any more correct.”

The Arizona Secretary of State – who said it was possible Obama might not be qualified to be on the ballot there -- now says Hawaii has verified that Obama was born there, and he believes he was, in fact, born in Hawaii. BUT he now believes that when Obama was trying to get into college he claimed he was born in KENYA. And it’s on tape.

The Washington Post on author Edward Klein: “His latest, ‘The Amateur,’ in which he contends that the president is ill-suited by experience and temperament to occupy the White House, contains scenes that did not occur or that were vastly misconstrued, according to those who Klein says were present. The Obama book, released by conservative publisher Regnery, has been largely ignored by the mainstream media. Nonetheless, it has sold vigorously thanks in large part to an early boost from conservative blogger Matt Drudge. It will perch at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list Sunday for the fourth consecutive week. In the month since its mid-May release, nearly 66,000 copies have been sold, according to Nielsen BookScan.”

FOX Noise -- Holy f-n cow! If any rightwinger has a doubt that this is a propaganda outlet, then check out the recent tape they broadcast of President Obama speaking about this issue of immigration. FOX cut off the tape right before the president goes on to say his positions -- which is NOT to pursue young people who would qualify for the Dream Act.

This business of editing to take things out of context, or in Romney's case to make a quote appear to be another person's own words, is so outrageous and absurd I can't grasp why anyone would watch this crap. The FOX Noise/Hate Radio segment of our population is fed conspiracy theories all day every day to the point they are no longer sane, rational human beings.

I can't believe this is even legal. Just like Private Inequity practices, especially use of government funds to line their pockets. Why aren't rightwingers outraged by FOX knowingly reporting lies, by vulture capitalists ripping of tax dollars, and by 501(c) fake social welfare organizations getting tax exemptions?

Turn off FOX Noise. It's giving you brain damage, stunting your emotional growth, and suffocating your Rule of Reason and ability to act in your own best interest. Turn it off and let's shut it down. It's ruining our citizens and our country.

Mr Obama's new found confidence that he has the Hispanic vote locked up may be a bit premature as he, with his claims of Executive Privilage, in order to hide his role in the Fast and Furious Weapons scheme, that has caused the deaths of American Agents, armed Mexican drug gangs with thousands of weapons that has caused hundreds, if not thousands of Hispanic lives already , in Mexico and other South American Countries, and those weapons are still there and will continue to cause death and suffering to the families of the very Hispanics He is trying to pander to here,as this sorry story continues to unfold, and as Hispanics come to the realization what this man has done to them, that very support is likely to turn into contempt.

The purpose of Fast and Furious (code name Wide Receiver when it was created during the Bush administration) was to follow gun sales back to the drug cartels that were already buying guns in the US.

So now, Republicans are making the pitch that only they can keep Mexican drug lords safe from the ATF. Why, they will investigate American law enforcement until they give up the names of their moles in the cartels and put an end to trying to stop the flow of drugs into the United States.

Yeah, there's a winning campaign slogan : Vote for Romney, he'll protect Mexican cartels from the ATF.

According to ATF gun-tracing data, 90 percent of the traceable weapons used in Mexican drug violence originated in the United States with Texas, Arizona and California the largest suppliers

Yup.....of course the NRA disputes the findings of the ATF!...Gun shows are very profitable!

By coincidence, David Maranis' recent book has clearly shown Obama's own autobiography is not only full of scenes that didnt occur , but also full of people that didnt exist...

That is the Washington Post's way of saying the President has lied again.

      Amy

Wide Receiver,(under Mr. Bush), was a completely different Operation than Fast and Furious,(under Mr. Obama), all the weapons in Wide Receiver were traced, coordination was made with Mexican authorities, and the felons picked up immediately after they crossed the border, NO GUNS WERE LOST,but in Fast and Furious,no coordination was made with Mexican authorities, They were not even aware that weapons were being smuggled into their country by Our "Justice" Department, furthermore, no attempt was even made to trace them, almost TWO THOUSAND WEAPONS, most of them assault rifles, were lost, perhaps You are not aware of what kind of damage can be done with that kind of firepower, especially if they are in the hands of people who know what they are doing,(such as former Mexican Special Forces Operatives, who are experts in unconventional,(guerilla), warfare, and who make up one of the most violent of the drug cartels),and make no mistake, TWO THOUSAND WEAPONS is NOT used for tracing!,TWO THOUSAND WEAPONS is used for arming!

      Mo

I have just given You information on what this Administration has done TO Hispanics beside the information provided in the story about Mr. Obama deporting more Hispanics than any other President, when You add to that the facts that Women have lost more jobs under this President than any other group, the unemployment rate for Blacks is higher than any other group, and with no facts to back up Your"argument", it is specious at best, but perhaps there are some ignorant or naieve individual out there who will by that drivel, good luck.
