FLORIDA: “Florida voters strongly support Gov. Rick Scott‘s effort to remove non-citizens from the state’s voter rolls and they continue to back the “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law, a new Quinnipiac University poll says,” the Palm Beach Post reports. “Scott’s overall approval ratings remain low. Only 39 percent of Floridians approve of the job he’s doing, with 49 percent disapproving, the poll says. That’s a drop from May, when 41 percent approved and 46 percent disapproved of Scott’s performance.”
Both Obama and Romney will speak in Lake Buena Vista, FL, for the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials conference. With the voter purge, it will be interesting to see how Gov. Rick Scott is received. Obama speaks Friday, Romney tomorrow.

If you ask the question, "is it OK that in the process of removing suspected non-citizens from the voter rolls, that actual legal registered voters are also accidentally deleted?" you will get a different answer. The same as, "is it OK for the state to periodically demand proof of citizenship from people with Hispanic surnames?" you will also get a different answer. If not, then Floridians have already received their Koch lobotomies.
Have you looked into the process they are using? The people of FL know the process and most believe it to be fair.
seriously? a poll with questions that most voters aren't knowlegable. why then have this dictate not been followed by the counties?
do you have any idea of the % of voter fraud in florida? (now theres a good question)
how about % of voter fraud in the entire country?
or would you think it right if your name was removed?
did you know that the last person under scott resigned because he thought scotts purge was wrong and unconstitutional?
sad to say, but the only thing polls indicate is how uninformed the electeric has become.
Floridians also elected Rick Scott - the guy that defrauded Medicare for billions - as their Governor so that doesn't surprise me.
There is nothing wrong with cleaning up the voter list to clean up the voter list but to do it 5 months before the election while targetting Democrats and minorities is just ridiculous. Why wasn't Rick Scott doing it on January 5th 2011????
The stand your ground law - the FL version - is a defense tool to get away with murder - LITERALLY! I can shoot anyone, and anytime and the only thing I have to make sure of is that there are no witnesses. It's the stupidest thing I have ever heard of anyone passing.

I can ask anyone and anywhere: "Do you want illegal citizens to vote?" and I can predict most of the answers.
Asking: "Do you think targetting minorities and Democrats to prevent as many Obama votes as possible?" will give me different answers.
Well of course, because older white people still have land line phone service -- all 100 of those called.
As a "former" dimocrat, we had a list in each precinct of the dead and the moveouts who were still on voter roles. We made sure they were voted! They were our most reliable Dimocrat voters:) THis was back in the 70's before Jimmy Carter moved me into the Right light. I am sure that the same crap goes on today. The Dims will do ANYTHING to WIN-they have no moral compass. Rick Scott understands this and at least is trying to stop it. Give him credit for attempting to clean up the crooked mess. It is a shame that Obama does not want to assist Florida in cleaning up its voter role of foreign voters and illegals. But I am sure that foreign voters, illegals, and convicted felons will break hard for the Prez.
Every Republican governor should purge the roles in their states for the 2-014 elections. Congress if conservatives capture the Senate, should remove the The National Voters Registration Act lst act of business.
hd, so now you lie for the GOP, great. We know that you were looking to be with liars from jump street. Glad you found a home after all. Hope it works for you.
Does it seem sometimes that our Federal Government is fighting against the people??
Every citizen 18 and over gets one vote. This makes it a very serious crime to commit voter fraud. Therefore, the penalty for voter fraud should be very severe. Life in prison, no parole, at the very least.
The Florida system seems the fairest way to allow questionable voters to vote. Once your citizenship is established, your vote still gets counted.
This should be the system in all the states, and any lists needed from the Department of Homeland Security should be provided immediately.
The state gets the first shot at voter fraud. Of course this varys from state to state. Some states error on the side of stupid. Florida has been one for some time, Texas is another.
THe ones who complain about purging the bogus from the voter roles are ALWAYS the Dims as they are the only ones interested in voting the dead, the felons, the illegals, and the moveouts-folks that no longer reside in the voting district but are still on the roles. Voter ID is a BITCH now ain't it!
Oh, like voter fraud can't be done in Ohio when it was a GOP Secr of State who bought the voting machines, decided which voting places got how many, and contracted with an out of state company to provide the computer software to count the votes.
