VIDEO: First Read Minute: Dueling speeches in Ohio

Today President Obama and Mitt Romney give dueling campaign speeches in Ohio, the Romney campaign releases a new campaign ad hitting the President, and Sheldon Adelson makes a big contribution to a pro-Romney super PAC.

Edited by NBC's Matt Loffman.

OH MY!

If today's back to back speeches are any indication of things to come - you right wing nuts are f@cked! lmao!

Talk about a contrast!

In one corner you have President Obama addressing hope & optimism!

In the other corner you have Willard hyperventilating about how this mess is all Obama's fault!

Bring on the debates... if Willard dares to show up!

What Willlard do to corporations who fund ALEC?

a) Alec wrote the "Stand your Ground" Law

b) Alec is a 501c that pays no taxes

c) Alec writes draconian laws that leaves Americans in the dark

Until the right wing nuts like Willard stop Black people, other people of color, young people, and the elderly from voting I really don't care what he says because many people will not be able to vote.

Stuff it Willard!

I wish I could hear President Obama - I'll have to wait until I'm home.

Did Romney say "don't you see? don't you see?" I hate it when he does that. No, I don't "see," Romney, sit down and shut up.

I wonder did Willard mention that his horse will be competing for an Olympic spot for the 'fancy stepping' (dressage), stuff!....The round of competition being held in, of all places, New Jersey!

....Yup, Willard understands!

In one corner you have President Obama addressing hope & optimism!

In the other corner you have Willard hyperventilating about how this mess is all Obama's fault!

In one corner you have President Obama still trying to sell fairy tales to the mental equivalent of children.

In the other corner you have someone talking about the reality of this mess, how to clean it up with the adults.

Anyway, back to play time, huh Feisty.

feisty you repeated the same thing on the previous FR.

Now that is funny.

Did you folks listen to both speeches? Ah what the hell if President Obama says UHHHHHHHHH, you would think that was the greatest UHHHHHHHH ever.

I have to give this one to Rumney, I did not see him looking Stone.

No.

In one corner you have someone spouting fairy tales like cindarella.

In the other, the fairy tales are more akin to sleeping beauty. A bit more fear-pitching.

But end of the day?

Both are talking fairy tales.

What a difference in the two speeches. For Willard the crowd was a little quiet. While for President Obama they were fired up.

I don't think the fans of Willard love him like we the fans of the President love him.

What a difference!

Chilled--here's what I don't get. Romney knows he has an image problem---people don't think he relates to them. So he ignores that and enters his horse into the Olympic trials for dressage (also known as "horse ballet"). And then he wonders why people say he is out of touch?! Did he really have to enter the horse in the Olympics?

GF, did you hear the applause in that room? It was like thunder. I could feel the earth vibrating here in Chicago. NitMitt's clown show didn't even have thunderous applause. In fact, I heard very little; despite NitMitt being controlled by remote and his Master puppeters.

ROFL, maybe next time the Master puppeters will strike the right chord some how remotely.

BTW: The Gay Parade is June 16th. I will text you and call Seeking Sanity about making plans to meet.

I mean, look at it. He's DEFINITELY STONED. Remember what I said the other day about all the pressure and bad news causing him to go back on drugs? Sheesh. He looks like Snoop Dog for heaven's sakes. The Press and the Political Talk Show Pundits who have gone into OVERDRIVE to show Romney really "nailing the President on his comment about the Public Section is doing fine. Compared to the Public Sector, the Private is doing fine.

Then again, Maybe this is why the Republican Dominated State Houses are passing MORE GUN LAWS so we won't need fire and police and if you have a good Water House put your own fire out.

EDUCATION IS JUST FOR THE RICH.

Romney thinks and his Republican Cronies in Congress and the low information voters Republicans appeal to think that Government can be Run like a Business. The Government is NOT A BUSINESS.

The Republican Demi-God, Ronald Reagan, knew it and so did every Republican President we have had. The new GOP/TEA lead by Karl Rove and Grover "Mr. Pledge" Nordquist would have you to believe that Government should have nothing to say or do with RECKLESS DECISIONS MADE BY BUSINESSS that DESTROYS THE ECONOMIC well-being of a Country.

Karl Rove knows better. This is why Rove and Company are going all out to DESTROY Pres. Obama.

GOVERNMENT IS ONLY GOOD WHEN REPUBLICANS CONTROL IT to Start Wars, DEREGULATE Corporations for Record Profits by shipping jobs overseas, NO RECOURSE FOR CONSUMERS, when Corporations harm the Public, Wall Street PLAY WITH YOUR MONEY, and TAX PAYERS LEFT holding the Bag and NO SAFETY NETS or Retirements, with just an OPPS!

to Beverly in Chicago who writes:

    Concern Citizen,

Surely, you don't mean your child supports voter suppression

Of course not, he just received his first voters registration and will be voting as an Independent.

He asked me about Florida and the Governor wanting to purge those that are not citizens and I told him that he had to make up his mind about that.

Any way old girl I heard that most stations tuned out the President speech since it was too long and the same old song for the last 3 1/2 years. "Didn't do that"

Why is this dueling speeches? Willard is a nominee, he's not President. Are you the journalistic version of a Republican CPAC? The President gives a speech and somehow it becomes fodder for both you and the Romney campaign? How exactly, would it "inevitably" not hold any further weight at this juncture? Because you don't want it to resonate!! First.Read. do your jobs and stop carrying water for Republicans! Your take on one citizen giving billions to a nominee is to gush "breathtaking"! President Obama inherited a mess, stopped it from hemorrhaging all the while trying to govern with a Congress and a good part of the electorate that hates he occupies the Oval office. (it always comes down to that).

ROFL: Martin Bashir just called NitMitt "Howard Hughes".

Dammmn, Martin is good. He needs an extra slot. Now, that the bloviating, shrill, Dylan Ratigan is gone, maybe MSNBC can juggle things around to give him more more slots like Ed, Rachel, Chris, & Lawerence.

I would suggest even a Saturday; instead of prision. The only time I would like to watch prision is to see the "Corporate Raiders" & Zimmerman there!!!
