You've dispelled the myth that Feisty is ALWAYS first,...LMAO. Have you ever seen such a bunch of whiners about something so completely within their grasp? If they just weren't so dumb, they could probably figure it out, too. lololol I guess it's easier for them to curse the early bird than to suck it up, yank their boot straps and get up a little earlier? And they call US lazy,...sheesh.
Sadly, you will no doubt be targeted, accordingly. Good luck to you!
We've heard the raucous applause by GOP audiences when hundreds of executions in Texas were mentioned. We've witnessed conservative audiences loudly booing a gay-soldier for asking a question. We've listened as the bigoted Newt Gingrich defends his bigotry, refusing to admit that his claim that black school kids didn't know how to work unless crime was involved might be taken by many as insulting. We heard the conservative crowd roar their standing-ovation approval.
That's what "incivility" looks and sounds like. And that type of incivility has been found almost exclusively on the conservative side over the last 20 years.
In March 2009, former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich gave this warning:
Make no mistake: Angry right-wing populism lurks just below the surface of the terrible American economy, ready to be launched not only at Obama but also at liberals, intellectuals, gays, blacks, Jews, the mainstream media, coastal elites, crypto-socialists, and any other potential target of paranoid opportunity.
The real problem now is not just the fringe that have always existed, it is that the fringe now think they are mainstream because the leaders of the Republican Party (Joe Wilson's "You lie!," and Jan Brewer waging her finger at the president) refuse to disavow it, and even fuel it.
NoLimitSoldier50 -- The reason LWNJ doesn't fly is because you can't find examples from progressives on par with the Teabaggers ("We didn't bring our guns this time"), and most of all on par with Democratic politicians and leadership. How can one top Donald Trump the King of the Birthers?
NoLimitSoldier50 -- The reason LWNJ doesn't fly is because you can't find examples from progressives on par with the Teabaggers ("We didn't bring our guns this time"), and most of all on par with Democratic politicians and leadership. How can one top Donald Trump the King of the Birthers?
You're funnin' me right? The reason LWNJ doesn't fly is because it doesn't even begin to describe the lunacy of the left. The spin, propaganda and outright lies of the liberal left is much, much more dangerous than any chemical powered weapon esp ecially now that they seem to control a large part of the media.
As the left gains more and more power and institute more and more social programs our freedoms slowly slip away. A really glaring example is being unable to buy a Big Gulp in New York
We have seen what progressives have given countries like Greece and gotten a preview of what we can hope for from OWS here in this country. If that is what you want - vote Obama.
It is a beautiful day here, purely summer, and you just can't be sad about that! Too nice a day to spend reading hate filled posts, so went outside to play!
What oh what have we learned this week? Well, this should come as a surprise to all of you, and you can't know how it surprises me, but I have some admiration for Jeb Bush, who seems to think that honesty is important! He has been critical of the Republican Party of late for being intransigent about ALL compromise, just to be stubborn. And in saying so, he mentioned that it may take away his ability to run for President in the future, because he is not speaking the orthodoxy. Honestly, I was so stunned, I had the vapors, clearly the wrong Bush brother was in the Presidential office.
Maybe there is hope? If Jeb decides to try to drag the party back kicking and screaming into some semblance of remembering that it is country first, in my view, he would deserve the Medal of Honor. I USED to be a Republican, when they were fiscally responsible, and gave credit that Americans could make the necessary decisions about their own private lives. So, I am going to propose a toast to Jeb at the Dew Drop Inn, and I imagine my friends will raise a glass to him!
In other news, neighbors in La Jolla are getting a little peeved with Romney and his remarkable facility to forget that he did not buy the whole street! Running true to form, Mittens is pretty convinced that having HIM move there is such a coup, that the neighbors will allow any infringement on their own property rights to allow him to build a HUGE property on the beach. But, I'm sure it will all work out in the end, Mittens will give a large bring your own food picnic to make it up to the neighbors and all will be well!
Domenico, happy travels to you! Fiesty, I am headed your way! Have a martini at the ready, my friend!
Happy weekend to all, and thanks to those who work so hard to bring us First Read!
To our hosts thank you for all your hard work. Domenico, enjoy a well deserved break....and Happy Father's Day next Sunday.
Feisty, I'll be over to join you at the DDI and will have one of those yummy martini's, bringing some of my famous homemade guacamole with homemade pita chips. It will be great to chat with old friends, enjoying their company, there will be much to talk about.
Have a great weekend friends, I'm hopeful we will get some nice pool and beach weather here and to start the festivities so let's hear a turn of "Tomorrow"
NDD, I saw Willards LaJolla neighbors on "The Last Word'....
A gay couple, been together almost 30 years.....Oh, oh...
They were saying that Willards new construction will block their view of the Ocean....but they did have a meeting with Willards architect who wanted them to sign 'something'.....they did not sign!
Have a great vacation, Domenico! You've earned it----unlike the GOP House of Representatives who were quick to pounce and distort Obama's comment about the private sector yet those GOPTPers are not concerned enough to stay in session and actually DO SOMETHING about it. Taxpayers give these guys $174,000 per year each, grand scale pension plans and benefits. In return for that, so far this year, the House has taken nine (9) weeks of vacation. Since the GOP took control in 2011, they work for two weeks and vacation for one and that doesn't count the big recesses for August and the holidays.
Wonder if we'll ever see a heading "Romney Lies". FR could do an entire week's worth of Mitt's whoppers. They could do another week of nothing but his flip flops. Now that would be fun and well as informative.
Don't know about everyone else but enough of politics this week; time for some relaxation, maybe some boating on the river or sitting at the cabin in the shade watching the boaters go by while sipping a tall, cool beverage. First, though, it's time to stop at the DDI for some good food shared with good friends.
I saw that too, chilled! I have a long family history in La Jolla. You pay dear to buy a house with an ocean view...and then to give it up because Mittens wants it all? Free? Um no.
NDD, I heard Jeb Bush make those comments. Personally, I don't care to see another Bush president because his brother was so awful. But I do remember reading that originally it was Jeb who was the son heir apparent to Bush 41, he was the one Rove and the who-ies wanted except that Jeb lost his first run for Gov and George won thus the 2000 push for "Dubya". Jeb Bush would have been a much different President than George because Jeb is more like his dad; George's problem was he was incurious and not engaged in the work of being president just the idea of being president. That said, until the GOP returns to some actual principles and policies beyond tax cuts, social/cultural wars which have nothing to do with economics or personal well-being, and find a heart and soul again--I will never vote for another republican even if I do like Jeb Bush personally.
I agree with you, Jody. I am glad to see some honesty from Jeb Bush. He is right, and my hope is that he makes a career out of trying to drag that party back from the fringe thinkers that currently hold it hostage.
We NEED two active parties with profound thinkers. Right now, the GOP is so far off to the right, that it is going to go over a cliff and take the nation with it.
The last Republican I voted for was Arnie Carlson for Gov. of MN. He had won as a endorsed Republican, the early "teabaggers" got control of the MN Republican party, they would not endorse Carlson, a sitting Gov. to run again. He ran as an Independent and kicked their butts.
That was an early warning of how things were going awry with the Republicans.
I lived in San Diego for over 21 years. La Jolla is a special place; enjoyed dining, shopping and the beaches there. In my many trips there, rich and not rich dressed nearly the same, they dressed as everyone else strolling the sidewalks of a beach front community. As I recall, those who build or remodel their homes along the ocean respect the neighbors views and rights because oceanfront and oceanview homes are prized as well as expensive. I think Romney simply thinks that the bigger, the better; that building such a huge home will command respect from his La Jolla neighbors. In my opinion, Romney's biggest problem is that he believes respect comes from having more and having the biggest and the best. He reminds me of the rich kid in high school whose parents bought the spoiled kid a really cool car and the kid figured everyone would like him now when all they really liked was the ride in the car. Money and a big home won't impress La Jolla people because they probably have far more than Mitt Romney does.
Let's not forget that this is to be Mr. Murray's First Father's Day! I hope it is a HAPPY one! (I know a week early; but worth repeating two weeks in a row!)
On the menu at the Dew Drop tonight to honor my THUNDER will be Clam Chowder (cuz if the Celtics win tomorrow, we'll 'eat them for lunch') and if Buzz will fire up the jukebox and playing some Miami Sound Machine - we'll have a dance slam with some good ole' GARTH BROOKS - Cuz' The Thunder ROLLS!
But seriously, it has been another week of thrown elbows! Some fouls called, some floppers throwing themselves on the ground and 'acting' injured. Fact is, it ain't permanent damage and with a weather vane like Willard,...next week will blow in something NEW and SHINY to take away the drama from this one.
And on a personal note,...I am attending the State Democratic Convention tomorrow and running to be one of the 19 At Large Delegates. It's a long shot; but I'm going to give it my best. Good Times start at noon,...send up a vibe if you're so inclined.
[Spanky seems to be a frequent and verbose poster of late ... are the ambulance drivers in SD on vacation also?]
ideo, the ambulance drivers doing just fine, better than the resident "counselor" in fact, 'cause, see the Lawyerin' business is waaaaaay down in good 'ol San Diego...hence the preening and displaying here by Spanky lately.
Seems he has a lot of time on his hands...you know...aside from "creating" jobs.
Oh, and did he mention he got his clocked cleaned by Domenico? And instead of just letting it pass so LESS people realize just how ignorant he is, he chooses to attempt to defend his ass-whuppin'...
Mickey ... one of the things I might like about TORT reform is that it would flood the market with competent lawyers seeking other avenues of income ...let`s hear from Spankard about the values of competition when that ugly head rears.
Clara, good luck to morrow, I'm rooting for you you will be a great choice.
Ideo, great to see you here again. My best to Phine I hope she is hanging in there, it is a tough situation to be in, my sister lost her battle a few years ago, it is such an insidious disease.
Hope Summer comes your way soon, we have had nothing but rain for the past few days and frankly, I'm tired of it. It is just great for the garden and it does look beautiful right now. Have a great weekend.
Jody; Exactly what I believe about La Jolla's reaction to Mittens! Money isn't going to impress them. Breeding, and the ability to treat others with kindness will. Mittens loses on both counts.
The couple seemed really nice and spoke favorably about the secret service being in their neighborhood. What will Willard say to his base about living in such a diverse neighborhood?
a republican man's normal day might include--train mma, go to rodeo, ride a bull at a rodeo, join/do miltary, love/protect family, honor his work obligations, study, arrest a liberal, hunt, fish, laugh at anything french, sing along on our national anthem, defend the needy, take another bath, laugh at a homo, study hard, punch a teamster after the teamster pops off.
a libe/dem male--file a lawsuit against a boy scout, get a sex change on public dole, support a pervert/homo parade, get his hair done like he read about in cosmo, get audited by irs for tax evasion, make a stupidass sign for homos and stand there with it, petition to release cop killers, support a child molesters run for school board, get a manicure, sissy up on some yoga, meditate(usually wishing for a spine), sadly reflecting on the berlin walls removal, pondering the wonders of fidel castro, avoiding work and a lib/dem always comes round to the bizarre love he has for the anus of other men
My horse would toss Rick into next week! Clara: can you see Mittens riding a bull? I laughed when I read that! The man rides a Missouri Fox Trotter, one step above a rocking horse!
Not that I agree with Rick, but I would like to say that Clara's post sure reeks of breeding and class! One can only wonder how she is raising her off-spring . . .
p>On the sixth floor of a sleek office building here, more than 150 techies are quietly peeling back the layers of your life. They know what you read and where you shop, what kind of work you do and who you count as friends. They also know who your mother voted for in the last election.blockquote>>
So, it must be from the Bush era, right? Remember the outrage when it was discovered that Homeland Security was tracking phone calls to this country from suspected terrorists? That was nothing compared to the horror when it was revealed that the FBI, by culling credit card records, could actually learn what books were bought- or checked out of libraries!
Well, this is not a Bush anti-terror program- it's an Obama re election campaign tactic. Yup, that's right-Obama, in an effort to raise money, is violating your privacy in a far worse way, and for a far more base reason, than Bush ever dreamed of doing.
I'd wait for the outrage of the left, but these are people who suffer from such cognitive dissonance that they are outraged when terrorists are dunked in water to gain intelligence, but praise to the skies the same people being killed by remote control.
The folks in the middle, however, might find this kind of privacy invasion troubling. ..
Not really NoJo ... if you have a facebook and/or twitter account privacy left the barn quite a while ago. You must be aware that corporations and advertisers also data mine these and other sites. Perhaps you are merely upset that the Obama team is out in front of the Wayward Willard team on this one. Pour yourself a stiff drink and try not to get your panties all knotted up.
The four page article in Politico explains one difference between the two campaigns. Obama's is taking the social media that users, especially the folks under 40 , use everyday: Face book , Twitter etc and communicating with folks. Their understanding of the tech world and users preference are creating 2012 marketing models.
Meanwhile Romney's spokespersons stated in the article that they are now going to gear up their use of social media the GOP way. They are going to outsource it to third party vendors. Their first attempt leaves alot to be desired. They produced a free app for their campaign but misspelled AMERICA in the title. Back to the drawing boards.
Article also reported that Romney is relying on advertising from their superpacs with traditional devices : phones, blogs and Internet sites.
I an sure the Superpac moneyed mafia donors, who are all old guys in their 60's 70's, love their land lines and if they have a iphone, they need to ask their grandchildren how the thing works.
Carrot Top, aka Feisty...
Carrots are a great anti-oxidant......
The RWNJs are voracious about carrots......keep eating it up guys, soon, you will be better off for it!
Funny you should ask. So many answers, but here's a few:...You might be a RWNJ if:
1. You're a Birther.
2. You're a Tea People.
3. You still believe Iraq has the yet to be found WMD.
4. You espouse President Obama is a muslim, marxist, communist, etc.
5. You don't know that Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security are socialist programs.
6. You disavow a womans Constitutional right of choice (Roe v Wade)
7. You would never admit that Willard lies.
uh, oh, Chilled
You've gone and done it...
You've dispelled the myth that Feisty is ALWAYS first,...LMAO. Have you ever seen such a bunch of whiners about something so completely within their grasp? So True Clara!
They make such a non-issue, like children, over being first.....
I may prove a little hard to target (tough to hit a moving target).....Willard proves that! lol
Mittt-Pleeeze choose Bob McDonnell!

The most dangerous thing is religion.
Greece (with an economy the size of Rhode Island) didn't just spend too much, no one was paying taxes, especially the rich.
As Krugman said: "The Romney and Ryan plans by design don’t force any austerity measures on the wealthy. The austerity is designed for everyone else."
Obama/Biden - 2012!
Maybe Dominico is off to study the relative value of exit polls?
You go boy!
[Maybe Dominico is off to study the relative value of exit polls?]
Seeing how Domenico owned you the last time, you'd think you'd learn your lesson...but here you are, seeking out yet another clock-cleaning.
This is gonna be great...
Gee, you're spending an awful lot of time here on FR...business that good huh...
...maybe you could "create" a job...you know...one just for yourself.
Sure you can....
eisty Redhead Roselle, IL
By chance, did you happen to catch the beat down Domenico put on SpankMe the other night?
His ass has got to STILL be stinging! ;o)
Couldn't of happened to a nicer guy... lol
Actually, no I did not catch it. Seeing as how you liberals seem not to have a very firm grasp of reality I would suspect IT NEVER HAPPENED.
Two tickets to paradise... eh?
Enjoy your vacation Domenico you've earned some well deserved time off.
As always, many thanks to you & Mark for providing a forum for Team Blue & Team Red to do combat!
It's going to get a whole lot more "fuglier" as the summer heats up & Willard continues to tank...
I'll see all my good friends over at the Dew Drop Inn in a little bit - tonight's drink special is; Fired Up & Ready to Go Martini's!

Clara,
I hope you win a delegate seat. Enjoy the state convention.
I see the DDI is starting to fill up and the music is playing, the jokes are funny, and the conversation is always fine.
Cheers to all, have a relaxing weekend, turn off the tv, go out side and look at the night time sky.

a libe/dem male--file a lawsuit against a boy scout, get a sex change on public dole, support a pervert/homo parade, get his hair done like he read about in cosmo, get audited by irs for tax evasion, make a stupidass sign for homos and stand there with it, petition to release cop killers, support a child molesters run for school board, get a manicure, sissy up on some yoga, meditate(usually wishing for a spine), sadly reflecting on the berlin walls removal, pondering the wonders of fidel castro, avoiding work and a lib/dem always comes round to the bizarre love he has for the anus of other men
rick
you most certainly must mean a republican like this asswipe, eh?

nope, nothing to see here. just ignorance flying the freak flag high and proud!
One can only wonder how she is raising her off-spring . . .
Hypocrits.

God! No jo pretending to scruples about privacy! Doesn't get much funnier than that!
Nothing creepy here.
Nice article. thanks.
I don't have a Facebook account for a reason- I value my privacy.
If you can justify Team Obama having the details of your private life, more power to ya. Just goes to show that liberals really can justify anything.
Be amusing to see your thoughts on topics like this next year. . .
