Boehner replaces his chief of staff

House Speaker John Boehner has shifted his senior staff and moves his chief of staff since 2010, Barry Jackson, to a new role and replaces Jackson with Mike Sommers.

Sommers moves up from the position of deputy chief of staff for leadership operations since 2011.

Aides say this "staff transition comes as Congress looks ahead to perhaps the most consequential end-of-session legislative period in modern history."

Barry Jackson, who also served in the Bush White House, will take on a new focus of strategic planning.

GOP Plan for the USA - Replace the States with Corporations. Replace the Senate with the Fortune 500. Weight the votes of the Corporations with their Gross Profits. Terminate all Federal Departments except the Department of Defense. There is no need for government regulation of corporations when corporations run the government.

Now the GOP can run an Honest Campaign!

Wonder if that's covered under ObamaCare?

That's an understatement. So far their "strategery" has been to lie about what Bill Clinton said. I'll bet they are in a backroom trying to see how they can repeat the debt ceiling debacle to get the Bush tax cuts for the rich made permanent. Doing a very unpopular thing to get a very unpopular result...How's that going?

Guilt has to be dealt with. When it gets as heavy as what these republicans are experiencing, people get unstable, and you can't trust. Never in our history has this degree of dysfuction, brought to you by our congress, been seen. Never. Totally historical. Not hysterical, historical. Although ... hysterical from the point of view how people believe in this phony new republican party.

Really??? Does that mean they are finally going to work on passing something to help rebuild our crumbling infrastructure and create jobs? I won't hold my breath! I'm sure they are still looking for another "womb with a view"! ;-)

My secret Republican decoder ring says: the Chief of Staff got beat up too bad the last time Boehner had to deal with the White House on one side and his own party on the other side so we'll try a new person in our desperate attempt to keep the Bush tax cuts.

Boehner's staff should all get together and replace Boehner with someone who can handle an asylum of dysfunctional Representatives. Teaching them to bark, "No!" hasn't achieved anything to be proud of, unless fouling the U.S. credit rating is a good thing.

AffinityGW - but it did accomplish what they wanted - the downgrading of the US credit. Gotta love the GOP - goofy old perverts!

Why pay and keep around your top aide that hasn't [like his boss] accommplished anything at all this session. Maybe Cantor will make him his aide and then they can get rid of the Tan Man who hasn't accomplished ONE THING of consequence this term of No leadership at all.
