It's that time already?

My how the time flys when you're having fun!

Thanks to our resilient hosts/moderators; Mark & Domenico for proving us this great place to come to & play the political version of the Harfield's & McCoy's!

This go around seems almost tame compared to the 2008 election!

If nothing else, it is always interesting! lol

Fasten your seat belts folks, it going to be a bumpy ride & when President Obama wins handily on Tues. 11.6.12, it will have been well worth the fight!

See all my friends over at the Dew Drop Inn - first round is on me!

For a holiday shortened week, it's been a wild one. Thanks to our hosts for providing the articles and a place to comment about them. Now it's time to head to the DDI for one of Frank's margaritas--it's just what we need right about now. Have a great weekend!

Speak for yourself...living in Florida I am being bombarded with ads already. Maybe it's me, but I swear this is earlier than before. Or maybe it's just that my kids seem more annoyed with the commercials this time around!! LOL!!

Don't think for a minute I've forgotten! ;o)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. See...I'm a Republican who doesn't practice what he preaches, as I've run up a staggering margarita debt!! (My lame attempt at self-depracating humor on a Friday afternoon) ;-)

Frank, margarita debt is good for the economy; think of all the jobs those drinks are supporting. It is really early for so many TV ads. I'm seeing a lot of them in IA, too. Most of them here are SuperPAC attack ads; it's hard to read that small line that tells who paid for it. My attitude is that any ads that aren't by the candidates themselves, are suspect.

I was referring to the temperature here at FR! ;o)

And don't think for a minute just because I live in a Blue State we don't get our share of the SuperPac ad's! Grrrr!

It would good enough to make me giggle! lol

Richer bankers led to the Recession but got bailed out.

Bush's policies contributed to the recession.

But Walker decided to furthur victimize the hard-working people who have already suffered from losing jobs.

Job growth in the private sector has continued for 27 months straight, despite Teapublican obstructionism. And if the public sector could hire back employees like the teachers we need, the unemployment rate would be a full point lower (i.e., it would be 7.2%).

Speaking of Teapublicans, I was stunned by cow pie distortions like Cantor's snarky BS about how the economy could be better with proper leadership. Leadership, really, seriously this coming from the chaotic, no courage, no leadership Party of No?

And Boehner saying things would be better if the president/Dems had followed their advice. What is their advice? Tax cuts for the gazillionare "job creators," and let's see now, seems to me the Bush tax cuts were extended. Hmm, so where are all those jobs?

The REAL reason the economy has stalled is because the stimulus is gone now, and Teapublicans refused to support the Jobs Act. We would have millions more people working right now, but the sad truth is that the GOP/TP have thrown the American people under the bus as part of their plot to take over all branches of government. "Pass This Bill," and pass it now!

Republicans/Tea Party -- Their gain is your pain. Don't reward betrayal. Throw the Teapublicans out!

Romney -- He's not in it for you.

Feisty, time for the Dew Drop Inn and none too soon. Honestly, there HAS to be a full moon out somewhere, the nutcases are running the asylum.

What oh what have we learned? That Romney is a birther! Which is so funny when you realize that by hanging around Trump, and waving around his birth certificate, he has, by Trump standards, made it VERY clear that his own citizenship should be questioned. You saw it...Romney had a Certificate of Live Birth, the very phrase that the birthers breathlessly tell us mean that Obama can't be a citizen! To make it WORSE, Romney's dad was born in MEXICO! To parents who fled America because of those pesky polygamy laws! So I am certain that we will be hearing the birthers, and their dear Leader, Trump, DEMAND that Romney PROVE he is a real live citizen, that is, unless this is about bigotry, and the President's ethnicity, which we have always claimed that it was!

But, Romney, as is his want, encourages the birthers, though he pontificates with a very serious look on his face, that the President is a genUine citizen. He sure doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings by doing the morally correct thing, the thing the shows leadership, and tell them to RUN not WALK to their nearest mental health facility for a full evaluation. Not our Mittens, why that would be RUDE wouldn't it, and just not his style.

Makes you wonder how he would treat various world leaders, who wish us ill. I guess we can expect him to say something like "I wouldn't phrase it just that way, that America is the Great Satan, if you will, but he is entitled to his opinion." Yep, that's strength!

My thanks to my hosts, been an interesting week on FR, and getting more interesting by the day! Feisty, I am feeling Daiquirish today! Time to get the party rolling!

Have a good weekend one and all.

Jody - for sure. Haven't seen this many hate-filled republicans in a long time. But, they're crowing about the stock market going down and the lack of jobs. How sad they take such pleasure in bad news for people and the country. That would normally make people with values step back and look at what they've become - but not the GOPers. Nope, they cheer at bad news. What very small people they have become!

Have a good weekend, Jody and the rest!

Fisting Redhead and SpeakingInsanity..."GOSH" Let's see how you 2 will spin this recent article (from Politico):

Looks like you progressives (aka Socialists) all are starting to consume each other now that the writing is on the wall and even bigots like Fisting are scrambling (by the way, loved your reference to Hussein and shining shoes in the article yesterday - shows your racism is in full swing). Why don't you just call him the %&##$ word...you know that is what you are saying!

President Bill Clinton veered sharply off message Thursday, telling CNN that Mitt Romney's business record at Bain Capital was "sterling."

"I don't think that we ought to get into the position where we say 'This is bad work. This is good work,'" Clinton said. "The man who has been governor and had a sterling business career crosses the qualification threshold."

Clinton also went on to say that Romney's time atBain Capital represented a "good business career."

The Obama campaign is in the third week of an all-out assault on Romney's time as a corporate buyout specialist — accusing the GOP nominee of bankrupting companies and laying off workers all while pocketing a profit for himself and investors. But the negative tenor of their attacks on an influential segment of Wall Street have made some Democrats uncomfortable. Clinton is the highest profile Obama surrogate so far to show discomfort with the attacks on Bain, with the former president even praising the company and Romney's record. Newark mayor Cory Booker and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrickalso both declined to press the attack against Bain. In Booker's case, he released a YouTube video clarifying his comments after calling the Obama attacks (and Republican counter-attacks on Obama) "nauseating" — all while being publicly chastised by top Obama staffers.

Oh well, at least the stock market showed real confidence on how his policies are helping the economy!!!

Speaking of articles from Politico - it seems that at least one Republican has a modicum of integrity.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Friday he opposes Grover Norquist’s anti-tax pledge because it asks politicians to “outsource your principles and convictions” — a comment Norquist calls “humiliating, embarrassing.”

At a hearing of the House Budget Committee, Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) asked Bush, a Republican, if he agreed with the Americans Tax Reform pledge to oppose all tax increases. Bush responded that he refused to sign the pledge three times.

“No, I — okay, so I ran for office three times. The pledge was presented to me three times. I never signed the pledge,” he said. “I cut taxes every year I was governor. I don’t believe you outsource your principles and convictions to people. I respect Grover’s political involvement. He has it every right to do it, but I never signed any pledge.”

We all knew we got the worst Bush in George.

The market is typically hyper-sensitive during presidential election years with some wild swings; throw in Europe, the JP Morgan Chase $2-3 billion loss and Facebook, it's bound to make folks nervous.

So, why are you leaving out 1.9% GDP growth, new jobs created revised down by 49,000 for March and April, only 69,000 jobs creat this month, (subject to further, downward revision), among other exhibits of Obama's failed economic policies?

Not covered in the book of his Greatest Speeches?

Leave it to the Left and the GaGa generation to spin this as harmful to the poor and elderly. That was the same argument Diane Feinstein gave me when I asked what she thought about a flat tax. Beginning to sound like a broken record.

The question in Wisconsin is, will Walker be recalled or remain governor until he is arrested for political corruption or lying under oath to Congress. He has two funds: one for political donations and one for legal defense, out of which he has paid $10,000 just to retain defense lawyers. I wonder if the folks with "We stand with Walker" signs in their yards will stand trial with him too.
