Subscribe to RSSMASSACHUSETTS: The story that just keeps on keepin’ on… “Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren acknowledged for the first time late Wednesday night that she told Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania that she was Native American, but she continued to insist that race played no role in her recruitment,” the Boston Globe writes.
Warren said in a statement, “At some point after I was hired by them, I . . . provided that information to the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard. My Native American heritage is part of who I am, I’m proud of it and I have been open about it.”
The Globe does point out: “Two key people who recruited her to Harvard have said they did not know of her purported heritage or take it into account when hiring her. The school did not promote her as a Native American when she was hired, despite the fact that it was under intense pressure to diversify its faculty with more minorities.”

This is how Scott Brown wins elections. By spreading lies and innuendo about his opponent, so nobody looks too closely at his complete lack of talent for doing anything else.

If race doesn't matter (as it shouldn't) then just do what I do. And this goes for Elizabeth Warren as well... When asked about race or ethnicity on paperwork, just put that you'd rather not say! Easy.
But I'm sure many of you can't put your money where your mouth is and you will put down your minority to get unfair artificial advantages and money from the government. Only sell-outs would do that though.
Oh, and I'm also neither a conservative or a liberal so I don't like Elizabeth Warren, Obama, Republicans, whatever. Getting labeled is not the aim of the game. At least, it used to not be.

How very sad and pathetic that this woman's delusions are unfolding in such a public forum. The whole situation does not reflect well on Harvard or academia in general in that these fantasies were placed into the official record without any verification or worse yet, encouraged so as to meet some Federally mandated quota for minority faculty. Her statements are so very telling as to the mindset of the liberal elite, I say I am, therefore I am. It looks like she even plagerized the recipes she published. When you are unencumbered by the truth, everything is possible. Whats her follow up, I'm an alien because I'm pretty sure my Paw Paw was an alien because he looked a little green in the old pictures, just like all aliens.

Depending on which state she purports to live in, she can claim "State Tax Exemption", because then she can pay a lower tax rate for being part of the Indian Nation.
Some states support it, and some do not.
Still, if she also holds key Nation holdings, she can pretty much get away with murder when it comes to taxable income.
She probably wanted to open a casino so she claimed to be a Indian.
She hasn't proved she is 1/32nd Native American. The Cherokee Nation has nothing to substanciate her being of the Cherokee Nation. So therefore to some on the Left she is 1/32nd Native American because she says she is even tho it is only based on family folklore. Now she is trying not to say anything about her Native American blood as if we should just forget she even said it. Enjoy reading the way so many on the Left rally around the, for now, alleged Liar.
What the hell? First we take their country away from them and we call our selve's american. Why not call us intruder's who were cruel to put them on reservation's taking their freedom away. Yea, cause despite the fact that she is brilliant, highly respected in her field and has the best interests not of Corporate America and the uber rich, but rather, average Americans, Harvard no doubt gave her a job cause they felt sorry for her, seeing as she is a minority.

Intrepid...do you recognize the juxta-positioning of your arguement...Harvard educationed but not uber rich? The only way that happens is if she is not brilliant or highly respected. That's why people go to Ivy League schools...otherwise they would never attend such overpriced institutions to get the same sheepskin as a public university!

The problem of course is that it now appears she took advantage of a minority status, one that was undeserved. If she received special treatment because of that status in getting into law schools, getting experience, and was touted as a native American in order to gain an advantage, it speaks to her character. We already have too many of low character in political office. Let her go out and get a job on the merits, not an assumed heritage.
If you support affirmative action quotas you should be mad as hell that a person who is clearly NOT a minority was hired by Harvard and others to fill affirmative action quotas on their faculty.
If you think affirmative action quotas are unamerican you should see Warren as proof the system is flawed and worthless.
