Updated 12:20 p.m. - President Obama called Mitt Romney on Wednesday to congratulate the former Massachusetts governor on winning the necessary delegates to secure the Republican presidential nomination.
The Obama campaign released a short readout of the call, which occurred at 11:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
"President Obama said that he looked forward to an important and healthy debate about America’s future, and wished Governor Romney and his family well throughout the upcoming campaign," said an Obama campaign statement emailed to reporters by spokesman Ben LaBolt.
"It was brief and cordial," said a Romney campaign aide. "Gov. Romney thanked the president for his congratulations and wished him and his family well."
Romney, per NBC News projections, surpassed the necessary 1,144 delegates he needs to clinch the nomination after winning last night's Texas primary.
Neither Obama nor Romney has any public campaign events on the schedule today.

Ok Feisty Redhead it's GAME ON, Lets talk about all the hope and change your president said he would give the American people. Where is it ??? All I see is gloom and doom and when the vote is over I'm real sure that Odombo will be back in Chicago as a community speaker.
More doom and gloom than I have seen in my 48 years on this earth to date.
Mackinac Island is located in Michigan and is surrounded by Lake Huron. There are no automobiles on the island except for emergency vehicles. The streets are filled with horses. Some carry a single rider, some pull wagons loaded with luggage from the dock to the many hotels. Some pull coaches filled with folks who are just having a good time and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
As one can imagine with so many horses moving through the street there are opportunities for the horses to dump on the street, And there are opportunities for employment because of the horse manure on the street. Yet the ‘street cleaners’ cannot remove all of the manure fast enough. So the many walking tourists occasionally encounter some horse manure on the street as they glide through the village in search of souvenirs and that famous Mackinaw fudge.
So what do they do when they encounter a pile or two of feisty horse manure in their path? They just ignore it, walk on by and enjoy the festivities.
Now perhaps if we were to consider the person claiming to be ‘Feisty someone or other’ as horse manure we could ignore and walk on by to a glorious recovery of this Nation led by a real American, a person who does not hide his past, a person whose character has not been associated with Chicago thugs, nor a character like Larry Sinclair nor a ’pastor’ who rejoices in GD’ing America.
Let’s send an eviction notice to the pretender in the Oval Office this November.

Unfortunately for California, our vote doesn't matter. I am still planning on voting for Romney. Every presidential run since I have been eligible to participate in since I was 18, has always had the nominee selected before we've a chance to vote in our primary.

There may be a chance these two candidates are civil to one another. That would be refreshing. Let them detail their thoughts and plans from their own mouths and let the people decide. There is no chance of civility between party members, however. I'm an Independent but I've never seen my democrat friends so full of hate and anger. Some folks on the right are just ignorant but I can't have a discussion about politics with any lib for more than a minute without them getting very emotionally upset. Well, why bring a calm head, facts, and an open mind into the discussion of politics right?

The election and or voting is still taking place in several states including California. This is a travesty from both parties when we have not even gone to the poles, are in the process of mail ins and drop offs and our military votes, and you two and the manipulation of this fixed election are congratulating each other. Just as the percentage of a state like California that is unemployed and you cut us off. A percentage of a larger number yields more people and impact to that economy than a small one. That is what you have given the Governor and people of California. We are hurting and insulted. You are a disgrace and so too the yielding of the press manipulating this campaign and acting as though California and these votes of We the People of the United States do not count. Then cancel your news papers, protest, cancel the news on your net, vote for other than on the ticket, and practice your faith and protect it. There is messages out here to leave the states.
Why vote California! We do not count. Who is the money man for the Mormons? Is is Orin Hatch? How about the LDS. California are you Equal?

Just another example of why our Presidential Primaries should all be held on the same day. Maybe, just maybe someone in the entire state of California liked what they saw in Herman Cain or Michelle Bachmann, or Ron Paul. Why should those citizens in California have so much less of a vote than the citizens of New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, etc.?? Time for reform??
As expected President Obama offered a congratulations to Romney. That is what you call "Class" it's a noble and endearing trait that comes from being humble and respecting others. It can not be taught and it is given and absorbed into ones ethos. Now after saying all of that, it's "Game-Time". So now let the debates begin so that the American people can see for themselves what and who are they going to elect come this November.
This is what you call a "stunt" not class. If he had class it wouldn't be plastered everywhere, it would of been left private. Instead he makes sure it gets leaked so everyone will know how much "class" he has... It's election year darling. Just like now he's for gay marriage.. It's all to get his numbers up.

You are correct Mitt does have FOX and talk radio but not sure if that is a good thing. I wish ABC CBS CCN or someone other than FOX would say some good things about Mitt. FOX is not always a believable source.
