LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- In a whirlwind half-day visit to Sin City, Mitt Romney is enlisting a powerful new financial backer, rallying the troops with the state's governor and is set to collect millions at a high-dollar fundraiser with the ever-controversial Donald Trump, all before the sun sets in the desert tonight.
No sooner had Romney's campaign parked the chartered 737 plane (right next to Donald Trump's black and gold emblazoned jet), the candidate was off to meet with billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, who almost singlehandedly kept Newt Gingrich's campaign afloat with millions of dollars in donations to Gingrich's super PAC, but signaled months ago he would support the Republican nominee.
Aides said the meeting lasted nearly an hour at the Venetian Las Vegas Casino, Hotel and Resort, but there was no word of a formal endorsement or gift to the pro-Romney super PAC.
Romney next visted a Somers Furniture warehouse, but not for a new ottoman. The former Massachusetts governor campaigned for the first time with Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, a rising star in the Republican party who originally backed Texas Governor Rick Perry early in the primary campaign.
Romney took aim at President Barack Obama's 2009 comments not to "blow a bunch of cash in Vegas," by pledging his love for the city, which helped deliver a major caucus win for the all-but-certain Republican nominee back in February.
"I'm counting on you guys to go out and make sure that you elect a president who tells people to come to Las Vegas, not to stay away from Las Vegas. Who gets us on the track to have a strong and vibrant economy again," Romney said.
As Romney continued to attack the president as "hostile" to business, he veered into new territory, passing along the story of a restaurant owner he met with in a closed-door roundtable who suggested adding a new provision to the constitutional requirements of the presidency: time in business.
"I’d like to have a provision in the Constitution that in addition to the age of the president and the citizenship of the president and the birthplace of the president being set by the Constitution, I’d like it also to say that the president has to spend at least three years working in business before he could become President of the United States," Romney quoted the restauranteur as saying. "You see then he or she would understand that the policies they’re putting in place have to encourage small business, make it easier for business to grow."
And perhaps no man is more embroiled over the constitutional requirements of the presidency than Romney's host at his final Vegas event of the day, Donald Trump, who today doubled-down on his controversial beliefs that President Obama's birth certificate may be fraudulent, telling CNN that "a lot of people don't agree with that birth certificate," a charge host Wolf Blitzer labeled "ridiculous."
Trump hosted the fundraiser for Romney tonight at the Trump International Hotel just off the Las Vegas strip with a top asking price of $50,000. Trump spokesman Michael Cohen said the event tonight could raise "millions" for Romney campaign's victory fund.
Among the guests was Newt Gingrich who said, “We believe this is an American-born, job-killing president.”
Answering a question about Trump, he continued: “Others believe he was born elsewhere and kills jobs. But Obama is a jobs-killing president. He was born in Hawaii. That doesn’t affect that he is killing jobs.”

The real issue is that America has led the way of electing black leadership to Oval Office. For the first time in the history of America a once minority has risen from the ashes of the Revolution to be seated in Washington D.C. in opposition to racial hatred and tyranny.
President Obama and America has led the way to end a thousand years of racial oppression so that other non-whites will step upto the plate and swing the bat of leadership for America the greatest Democracy the world has ever known.
Keeping white leadership out of the Oval Office will create a stronger America as each race is represented in being able to lead America just as white leadership has lead since America came to be.

Obama, with respect to HIS wealthy friends, ONLY became the President due to Edward M. Ted Kennedy, Warren Buffet, & Oprah Winfrey. Why is it, that every President seems to be "bought-in" to The White House? Now Sheldon Adelson throws millions around like confetti, as it were for Gingrich, at $10M+, now for Romney. Donald Trump can't toss a penny in a wishing well, without expecting a receipt for expense purposes.
Since facts are not your strong point, let me help you out here. Obama was indeed endorsed by the individuals you cited in 2008. However in 2008, the maximum individual contribution allowed by law was $2500 dollars. Super PACs did not exist until the 2010 SCOTUS decision in Citizens United vs. FEC and the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals decision in SpeechNow.org vs. FEC.

I'd like to know exactly who this person is, but I guess we'll never know.....since this meeting was behind closed doors and all. Besides, Romney's way too busy kissing Trump's a$$ so he can get as much money out of him as possible. Trump insists he's not a birther, tho. I find it interesting that MSNBC and their ilk never mention that one of Obama’s campaign co-chairs is Federice Pena who was a senior adviser and partner at Vestar Capital Partners. Vestar is a leading private equity firm specializing in middle-market buy-outs. Vestar has done its share of lay-offs and plant closings. Where is that news?
Obama is as dirty as they come but the main—stream media gives him a pass by simply refusing to report facts. With Greece melting down and the market taking hit after hit I will be voting in someone who knows the game. The Global Economy is a dangerous place. Our freedoms are precious. In reading all of this left/right rhetoric I have yet to come across anyone from the right, including the candidates, that has voiced an iota of an idea as to how to solve the problems we are facing. All they seem good at is slinging mud. Come on people....what great new ideas do you have to solve the economy which is in the toilet....after all, your party caused this debauchle. Instead of insulting, please put forth your ideas. I want to hear what great things you will do to improve the current economy, other than no taxes and taking away money from elderly, children and folks who have lost their jobs.

As to why Romney hasn't spoken out on birtherism: Romney has no guts. 1) He didn't speak out against Rush Limbaugh. Romney wouldn't have used the language Limbaugh did? Oh, yeah? What language WOULD he have used to vilify Ms. Fluke? Why didn't Romney speak out against Limbaugh? Is he afraid of Rush Limbaugh? 2) He didn't speak out against Ted Nugent, when Nugent advocated assassinating the President. Why not? Is Romney afraid of Ted Nugent? 3) He hasn't spoken out against Donald Trump and his looney birther ideas. Why not? Is he afraid of Donald Trump?
If Romney is this scared to death of showing any political courage at all, what will he do when confronted with the North Koreans, or the Iranians, or the Russians, or Al-Quaeda, or any other bunch that wishes us ill?
