Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, today lashed out at Pakistan for the jailing of the doctor who helped lead the United States to Osama bin Laden.
That came as the Senate Armed Services Committee, of which McCain is the ranking Republican, said it wants to require the Defense Department to certify that Pakistan is open to maintaining supply lines -- and not supporting militant extremist groups -- before releasing U.S. funds to Pakistan's armed forces.
"All of us are outraged at the imprisonment and sentencing of some 33 years, virtually a death sentence, to the doctor in Pakistan who was instrumental not on purpose but was instrumental and completely innocent of any wrongdoing."
He added, "It is our goal to make sure that this doctor is not sentenced to death which is basically what he got for helping us apprehend Osama bin Laden."
In announcing this action today, McCain and Chairman Carl Levin (D-MI) said they would not put a number on the restricted funds to Pakistan's military. They said they are open to discussing it with the Obama administration.
McCain also reacted to NBC's Andrea Mitchell's interview with President Zardari's son -- he called him "a very articulate young man," but then went on to challenge everything he said.
McCain believes Pakistan's demand for an apology over the airstrike that killed 24 Pakistani's last year is connected to their decision to convict and jail the doctor.
A very animated McCain told reporters, Why convict an innocent man in response to your dissatisfaction that you didn't get an apology from the United States of America? What's that all about? This is a human being, a human being."
He continued, "To somehow allege that under any countries law that this doctor violated any law is of course just beyond ludicrous. It's outrageous."
McCain said the U.S. has expressed regret over the airstrike and he wants to know more details about it. He said once a complete investigation is done President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will decide if an apology is in order.
Levin and McCain held a press conference to announce completion of the markup of their Defense Authorization bill which included the Pakistan aid restrictions.
Earlier today, the Senate Appropriations Committee voted unanimously to cut an additional $33 million in U.S. aid to Pakistan.
The amendment sponsored by Lindsey Graham (R-SC) cuts $1 million for every year of the 33-year sentence received by the Pakistani doctor.
The cuts will impact U.S. military aid to Pakistan. The Obama administration requested $2.27 billion in aid for the next fiscal year, but the committee pared that back and proposed $800.3 million. This $33 million cut to military aid will reduce that number even more.

This is what's commonly known as lip service...
It changes nothing except giving Johnny McFlyBoy an opportunity to tell at clouds!
No kidding, you'd think Obummer would do something about it (stop sending our money there).......or is he just happy to take the credit for the good Dr and the SEALs for political points?
Precisely Feisty...
Indignation from the man who hoisted the Village Idiot to national infamy!
Tell ya what Michael1969.How bout you report to your nearest USMC recruiting station and sign up for combat duty in the AFG as opposed to shooting your yellowstreak mouth off...Seems to me that GWB1 took 'credit for Iraq 1." and Bush2 took credit for "Mission accomplished." Or does the logic escape you you?
Just what the country needs is more chicken hawk cowards like you shooting your mouth off!
Superpatriot Michael 1969..With NO skin in the game! That's the ticket!
LMAO Torpedo.....
You make this way too easy!
Tell ya what.....since you obviously disagree with my post, mail your welfare check to Pakistan to help pay for the prison costs to house Dr. Shakil Afridi.
You have got to be one dumbass libtard!....lol
Based on YOUR logic a taxpayer of this great nation can only speak on military matters if they are enlisted in the USMC???????
Only teachers can speak of education??
Only a linesman can speak of our outdated grid system??
Only farmers can speak of Obummers food stamp giveaway???
Only auto mechanics can speak of GM???
Only a rigger can speak of oil independence???
Are you really that stupid or are you just intolerant of opposing opinions? Does the First Amendment piss ya off?
C'mon man.....You're supposed to be the "big tent" party....the party of inclusion.....not the party of "we only like ya if you think like we do!"
Looney Libtards make this posting crap tooooo easy!...lol....DumbFux
Romney/Rubio 2012!
Only farmers can speak of Obummers food stamp giveaway???
Michael - How long have you been collecting foodstamps? Or does living at home with mommy disqualify you?
Wow! What a fantastic retort!
You must be really super-duper smart! What a putz......lol....typical liberal
Michael maybe you can explain the benefit of airlifting all supplies and equipment into Afghanistan at greater cost then paying for and using ground roads until we can get our ass out of there. Or in this case is it alright for Obama to increase spending.
Anyone here who has known me since 2007 knows what I have to say about Pakistan.
We got exactly nothing for our $20 billion investment under George W. Bush. Osama bin Laden was there all the time. Benazir Bhutto died because Condoleezza Rice told her to go home at exactly the wrong time. Anyone who couldn't see that coming ...
... or this, either.
And Heaven only knows how much we've spent since that time on that nest of petty cutthroats and thieves, whose only distinguishing virtue is that they have nukes.
Or, wait. I guess we do know --
Compared with Bush's $20 billion, and no doubt a LOT more, how lame is THIS?
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5g1BkaLuKXvE1gWEJSjTRW2bZsezQ?docId=b35bff82804641bba498bf7aaffcac44
Seriously? Too little, too late, empty symbolism, in all probability.
But at least it's something.
Please explain to me what in the @!$%# that has to do with McCain bitching about Pakistan and me commenting on that plus not wanting to send $$$ to the terrorists????????
Please try and focus.....
Feistybag Douchebag[You make this way too easy!]
That means the SuperPatriot will run off. So, just when WILL you be reporting for duty, Little Mikey?
Goatee Mikey...you never answered how your mom liked the macaroni card you made 'specially for her.
And just how long does she take to trim that cool goatee?
Go ask your mom...I'll wait.
LOL Gay Mickey....that was a good one....even though you're a douche, it still made me laugh
P.S. - I gather by your silence on MY logic, you looney libs agree with Torpedo......only military personnel may opine on military matters???
...lol....that's what I thought....what hypocrites
You know its so easy to find a small mind, you ask a civil question and the only reply is name calling. Sorry I thought you had some intelligence but really you are just a common simple minded tweeker. The point is if we stop sending our money there now we will be cutting off our nose to spite our face dumb@ss. We need to get our troops out first and we do not need to listen to your mindless ignorant sh*& until they are out. Then we can send your tweeker @ss over there and you can get a refund.
@ Michael1969 --
People might respond to what you say if you said it with less venom.
No, not only teachers can criticize education, and not only military folks can criticize the military.
But when people do either, it is useful if they understand at least a little bit about what they are talking about.
I'll bet, for example, that your own judgment on education is less informed by facts than it is clouded because you didn't get along with your teachers.
Imagine that.
AM, nice thought but I doubt he understood one word you said after Michael 1969. This poor boy is wrapped in hate and was probably abused by one or both parents.
I AM a teacher....I know precisely what it's like. That doesn't mean that the folks that pay the bills don't get a say.
And, if we're going to start a litmus test everytime someone is allowed to comment on a topic, a lot of you liberals on FR are in big, big trouble!
Michael it is one thing to voice your opinion but you diminish your message in insults and hate. By your post here I would pull my child out of your class faster than the speed of light. You do not belong in a classroom teaching anyone. You foster this opinion no one else.
Really?! That's a coincidence, so do I. Been there, done that.
Their "say" is not worth much if they don't know what they're talking about, which many people don't. Same with military talk, and most other subjects. Whatever you teach, I wouldn't presume to tell you how to teach it.
I agreed with you on that point, in case you were too busy being indignant about others to notice.
I also agree with you that we ought to stop sending aid to Pakistan. They need our money a lot more than we need what they give us. Besides, the military just pockets most of it, anyway, or passes it back directly to the same tribal leaders who protected Osama bin Laden.
Honestly, this is a touchy situation and upsetting to everyone but when will the non-Presidents, non-State Department folks, non-ambassadors working behind the scenes to try to free people unfairly jailed, just learn to keep their traps shut. Of course it is an outrage but the age of being able to say things in this country and not have it immediately transmitted to Pakistan or wherever disappeared with the Internet, Facebook, Twitter and TV.
[I AM a teacher....]
BAAAAHAHAHAAWHAAAHAHAHAHHAAA!!!
Suuuuuureeeeeeeeee you are, Mikey...sure you are...Is that what your mommie told you?
Did she also tell you you're a lawyer, too?
Mickey - no that's Spanky - don't get them confused.
The Chinese have always been and will always be Pakistan's biggest ally thanks to the Soviets supporting India back in the day. We don't need to be sending them any more, let China deal with them.
Chucky Stuart,
Sound like a reasonable plan to me.
China does give foreign aid to lots of countries. They can pick up any slack that Pakistan needs.
Oh holy hell libbies - latest poll from the loan o' Anna Molly has Walker in a 10+ point BLOWOUT.
For christsake, you all couldn't even make this one somewhat interesting? Folding it all up and going home?
All that talk about the 'sleeping giant' and the power of the middle class was just that, eh- mindless talk that you all could not back up.
Grab hold tight gang - this is but a precursor to bigger and better things to come.
Man, you guys really do suck. Or is it just a case of economic reality smacking you all down?
Oh well, either or.
Why is everything always so PARTISAN? sometimes, I really do get tired of it...
Are any of you in disagreement of what McCain said? If so, speak up about it... but to slam him or Sen Levin or the President (as Obummer) is just asinine.
What Pakistan is doing to the doctor is a disgrace and we as the US should send a clear and loud message to them. We can not be giving you money and then you are housing our main enemy. And then when a citizen of yours innocently guides us to him, you jail him for life...
I don't know what else can be called betrayal - Pakistan has betrayed the US and we should cease all aid to that country, or any country that tries on the governmental level to arm the US....
Occupational hazard of taking up with giants, I guess.
Amen Tunde. On the money! But lets face it, dems have to slam repubs and repubs have to slam dems. What else are they good for?
Present company excepted, of course. ;-)
Occupational hazard, economic reality.
Tomato, tamato, patato, patado.
Torpedo,
Skin in the game, got it, your kids signed up and serving, awesome hope they're safe. See the 20 years I served I don't remember it being a "game" and I just retired a few years ago. I would suggest before slamming others for this "game" you call it, why don't you sign up with Mikey and then you can talk smack to others that played the "game". You can take Mickey with you too, but the burning man probably wouldn't pass the drug test. When you deploy for 7 months, because that's what the Marines deploy for let me know how that goes? You can join the Army and do a 9 month tour, down from 12 months and let me know how that goes, your choice. Just because your kids are in doesn't make you an expert on this"game". Now if you want to talk about it, I would love to let you know first hand on what was going on when I played the game. Did you play in the game or did you just watch from your living room?
For the life of me, Paul, I cannot see what Torpedo said to draw that sarcastic response from you. Those who serve often mistake criticism of the politicians and policies that sent them into harm's way for criticism of the troops themselves. I saw nothing in Torpedo's post that accused soldiers of playing games or not taking their missions seriously. But I'm very much in agreement with him if he was saying that politicians often play their own little games with the lives of troops, and have been known, including in recent years, to send troops into harm's way for no legitimate reason. This is no reflection on the troops themselves. Frankly, liberals are more likely to want the troops to stay home where they will thrive safely and prefer that they not be used as pawns for political or even more heinous purposes, such as supporting war profiteers. I'm surprised that you don't distinguish the difference. To the extent that you and your military colleagues are valuable and productive members of the society to which we all belong, we all have skin in this game. No one wants to see soldiers sacrifice unnecessarily.
Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. The nation's thoughts and prayers go with you this weekend, and hopefully, always.
Paul. USMC 1967-1970..Did my time..I played with 10% of the material and home support you had. The 782 gear we used was from the Korean War. Tell me Paul did you make it above E4? Just asking!
I will bite.
I think Military should speak on military matters. That disqualifies this useless president from all matters of the military since he never served his country and has zero leadership skills he should not be in charge of anything.
That may be what you think, but the founding fathers thought differently, and that's exactly why they made the President Commander in Chief and imposed no requirement that he/she have military experience.
If you do not love your country enough to serve it what good are you to it? Then you want to have control of it?
USMC was my college. I learned a lot about trust and leadership during my time. This clown President represents none of those points. He is useless and only an idiot would vote for the clown.
Oh Sydney, STFU.. I am going to chastise him for speaking about US Military locations while he was a POW which he then traded for more medical care and comfortable sleeping arrangements.
Unless you are the President of the United States, no-one should ever speak of wanting to bomb any nation, like Willard, Ricky, Newton, Sydney, etc has.. This is irresponsible and reckless for men or women who have zero authority to launch such actions. Stating intentions to start a war with another nation, when you have no authority to do so, should be considered treasonous or at the very least, disqualify you to run for office. Willards, Newtons & Ricky Boobys words caused gas prices to inflate when they were campaigning, because they all stated they wanted to bomb Iran back to the stone ages.
@ RUkidding. Thank you for your service. I served during the first Gulf War, was in boot when the war started. I served with the 2nd MarDiv @ Camp Lejeune as a Field Medic i was a Devil Doc. . Went to FMSS @ Camp Johnson..
Ask the VFW what they think of McCain . I believe you might be surprised. I thank him for his service but his politics suck and i am a conservative.
I think John McCain should criticize the Vatican for jailing the Pope's butler as well.
Tunde - you cancelled me out when you called our President (Obummer) when you show our president respect I will listen to you until then - go wash your dirty socks!
It is getting very tiring of sending our hard-earned tax dollars to these terrorists.
Nice goatee Mikey...your mom does a great job of trimming it for you.
Hey, by the way, how'd your mom like the macaroni card you made her for Mother's Day? And did she like the new trimmer you got her..you know...so she can trim that cool goatee?
Mickey, NY...Is that a mouth? I thought it was his private parts. Seems to spread em a lot for the T Bags.
Hey Gay Mickey! What's shakin?
....Oooops, I shouldn't say that to you. I forget da pillow biters get a wee bit excited at that kinda chat....lol
First, and probably last, time we agree.
I'm sick of funding these terrorists on both sides. We should be selling them guns and insanely big bombs to drop on each other, with a very short shelf-life so they aren't used on us, and then getting out of the way.
Michael again what is your issue with gays, evertime someone comments on your appearance you have to call them gay. Have you not come out of the closet yet is that the problem, you don't want anyone to know yet. Maybe if you do not like the comments you can find a less gay picture of yourself.
tek, you do not need to sell them guns, they aready have the biggest one least you forget, and we still have a lot of our guys over there so lets not get to carried away or they may just decide to test that (gun)
Is that a mouth? I thought it was his private parts. Seems to spread em a lot for the T Bags.
He better watch out if he goes to Virginia. He might get his face probed......
@ Michael --
No argument there, but what were you saying during the Bush administration?
Boy-oh-boy it gets rough around here in the late afternoons.
I agree 1000% Anna. It makes no difference to me which party is in office. I don't want my tax dollars going to terrorists or countries that harbor terrorists.
Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama......KNOCK IT OFF!
Agreed.
But terrorism to you and me is big business to some.
And I have to tell you, Michael, that those people are NOT liberals.
[I don't want my tax dollars going to terrorists or countries that harbor terrorists.]
But Israel gets a pass, right Mikey?
...Oh Lord...now I've done it...I mentioned the big, untouchable "I"...
If Mc Oldfart was president OBL would still be on the loose and we would be bomb, bomb, bomb, bombing Iran.
Adler-273784 - plus we would have troops on the ground in Syria, Libya, and wherever else he could make up a reason to go. Whew! Dodged a bullet with that one! Thank you President Obama!
Adler, Seeking - Short of peering into an alternate universe in which we did not elect Hussein, we can never know what the effects would have been.
Additionally, any mistake ever made may be excused by saying that things would have been worse if it hadn't been made. Here, try it yourself: If George Bush hadn't invaded Iraq, the world would have experienced many more terrorist attacks ... or ... If we hadn't raised the debt ceiling, our credit rating would have been downgraded ... oh, wait a minute ...
No apology and stop all aid money to Pakistan and stop issuing Visas to the Pakis to come here. The Pakis here are all a national security threat anyway and they should have their Visas revoked and be sent home. No more money and no more Visas.
The headline should read:
OLD MAN YELLS AT CLOUDS!
McCain, needs to retire, and spend more time with his Rich wife...I would!
Why was this Pakistan doctor, Shakil Afridi and his family, not taken out of Pakistan at the time or shortly there after the raid on OBL. The Pakistan government knew OBL was in Pakistan and the Americans should have known Pakistan would retaliate in some way, especially since our Commander-in-Chief went on TV bragging about the killing of OBL. This made the Pakistanis lose face and this was their way of retaliating and trying to prevent further internal problems between the weak civilian government and the military.
The operation to kill OBL was skillfully carried out by our well trained operational forces that carry out these type of missions. The operation should have been kept covert and not publicized until all those Pakistanis who helped us were secure and safe, even if that meant bringing them to the U.S. The Navy Seals are even upset about the public release and the "spiking of the ball" by this administration.
I would hope that the American government is working behind the scenes to do right by this doctor and his family, even if it means completely cutting all financial and military assistance to Pakistan. If we do not get this doctor released, why would anyone want to help our intelligence and special operations forces if they are going to be left to fend for themselves.
I am glad OBL is dead, but the whole operation should have never been made public, and there should be no movie, especially for political and monetary gain, about the operation.
sfcret - Thank you for one sane post on this board. Now that we know that Obama has released the secret files from the OBL raid - the ones that he was so intent on keeping from the American public - to his Hollywood friends, the safety of Shakil Afridi and his family will come even more into question. I am curious to see what the Obama administration is going to do to help this man, but I think my wait will be in vain. Shame on Obama!
Guess old man McCain wants to start another war. Same old Republican ideas for stimulating the economy. Lower taxes for the rich and start another war to keep the military industrial complex happy.
Enough wars already, my son has spent 3 of the last 5 years in harms way!
Greg - McCain is not in any position that he can start another war - but Obama is.
Obama is one of those rich people that pays lower taxes.
Please give my thanks to your son for his service to our great nation.
Island girl - Obama does not have an off shore account and he pays his taxes according to the tax laws - last looked 20% versus Romney's 14.5%
Get off of it and your island it is Romney who hides his money is Swiss Bank Accounts and the Cayman Islands
Are you comparing the President's million dollars to Romey's $250million dollars
Then go back and take a math class - or maybe just go back to school
$767 million in bribes... er, aid to Pakistan.
Gimme a break!
Use the money for something that makes sense.
Thank you TUNDE AKINS for trying to get the posts back on track. Unfortunately, the posters didn't take the hint. As for Pakistan, why cut only $33 mil why not cut the entire amount? And I'd like to comment on one more area...Afghanistan...what ever in the world made the U.S. think they could solve that problem. The Russians couldn't and we thought we were better????
Why all the hate for McCain here? Sure, I don't agree with a lot of his politics. Especially lately. But he has served our country with honor and dignity.
He is correct here to want to restrict how much money we give to Pakistan over their imprisonment of someone whose only crime was helping us. Pakistan is a money pit that we can not escape until we leave Afghanistan. We got Bin Ladin, they hate us, it is time for us to just go.
All well and good, but what is McCain doing about Leon Panetta's treasonous outing of the doctor?
How ironic that John McCain is trying to save a mans LIFE who helped give the "Hero-in-Chief" the ability to Brag, Brag, Brag about "getting" Bin Laden.
Of course, the Campaigner-in-Chief is too busy going to his $40 per person Fundraisers to give a Dam about this Man.....but had time to call the poor little Georgetown Student and give her sympathy for not being able to get free birth Control pills!
DISGUSTING!
Blame Pakistan! Holly crap! who gave him up to the Secret police? who verified him as a contributor? Obama administration. they gave him up , along with the media here. After this and the Brit in Somalia, there will be NO help in the future, who needs friends like Obama and the US liberal lefties. They will use you, and take all of the credit, but none of the punishment.
Let us make a deal with Pakistan, we exchange this great Pakistani Doctor Hero against the War on Terror for our 1000 of our Violent Socialists Government Handout Dependent OWS Protestors.
I don't even remember the last time I agreed with Sen. McCain.
Pakistan has one language-- money. I wonder what ransom (or chess piece) they saw in this sentence. However-- he was convicted by the tribal courts, not the official Pakistani court. How convenient.
The doctor helped U.S. forces dismantle the leadership of a terrorist group that started a war between countries. Apparently, 33 years in prison is due to his failure to take appropriate steps, and gain official approval for his assistance to the U.S. through the Pakistani government. I'm sure he was surprised. Pakistan is supposed to be a U.S. ally in the war on terrorists. If this is the case, something needs to change.
In times of war, in operations with official allies, can supporters of U.S. forces on high-level operations be granted dual citizenship? Then, if Pakistan chose to revoke his citizenship, or send him to jail, or etc. or etc., he would still have inherent protection.
You might ask, what if the situation is reversed (assuming laws are incapable of distinguishing between the caliber of people and the integrity of national concerns)? My response: the receiving country must be willing to be held accountable for the actions of the individual. Did this man overthrow a government? no. Did this man help to infiltrate a terrorist cell? yes. Did this person commit a military act of violence against a civilian population? no. Did this person help the military of an allied nation? yes. The responsibility would then fall upon the country claiming the individual, which seems appropriate - in all directions.
What isn't appropriate, is serving 33 years in prison for stopping a mass murderer of U.S. citizens - who claimed no country; started a religious extremist war that could have culminated into a world war; failed to win militarily in the infiltrated and, at the time, sympathetic country of Iraq. What is a man's life worth? This doctor's life is worth something to the U.S. and to all countries opposed to religious extremism. He should not lose his life through incarceration.
McCain is a fool, mccain killed 130 people on board the USS Forrestall during the vietnam war.Mccains dad was a 4 star admiral and got him off the ship right after it happened and he never got in trouble for it, and the republicans were retarted enough to run his dumb fool for president. By the way Binladen has been dead for 10 years the whole raid is a big lie, no pictures of his body because there never was one. This whole story is to try and back a MI6 and CIA Lie. Oh the seal team that went in a killed him, all the members were killed in a helocopter crash right after, maybe because they might talk?
Try reading "War is a Racket" by General Smedley Butler USMC.
I can only state that all aid to Pakistan should be suspended. Only after agreements can be renegotiated concerning "reasonable" compensation for using their routes to port (most certainly NOT a million per day) will they be paid a red cent...along with the understanding that when the troops are out, the cash cow dries up. We have enough concerns to deal with in our own nation. Now if the money corporations feel they get a better deal in Pakistan, let them move there, produce their goods and sell them there as well. You want to be in Pakistan, go there and stay there, I'll stay right here in the USA .
For all you who can't abide our President, just pack your bags and get the heck out as well. I served 17 years in the US Army before becoming disabled. You do not have to have military experience to be intelligent or to be a leader...many of those in authority in the military are barely smart enough to do their jobs and require constant supervision, just the same as there are many who do their jobs in an exceptional manner. President Obama is more than qualified and intelligent to be Commander in Chief, the ones who cast their doubts just because he was not a ground pounder aren't smart enough for their opinion to be worth squat
I am annoyed with congress...$33 million was the best that they could do as far as cuts going to Pakistan. Give me a break, when a couple of billion is marked for Pakistan. Blackmail money, Pakistan blackmails us to keep the roads open, we blackmail them back by holding funds because they imprisioned the doctor. What a bunch of b.s. Cut Pakistan off completely, they are not our friend and neither is Afghanistan.
McCain is a complete moron. He is totally disrespectful of any nations sovereignty. Mr. Irrelevant what a putz!
Cut all aid to Pakistan, Israel, and every other nuclear bomb possessing country.
The US government loves all the whores of the world. Can't keep their bitches in line without $$$$.
Paring it down to 800 million? How about zero? I voted for you, McCain, but sending ANY more money to Pakistan is just a stupid decision. I expected more from you.
OH MY GOD BEANGRINDER - you voted for this man - bottom of his graduating class - Father and Grandfather Admirals - would have flunked out without them - his roomates at the "HANOI HILTON" - named him the "songbird" because he made thirty tapes for the Viet Cong and now has blocked every attempt to get those tapes
This kid - who divorced his wife beacause she was a model who he stole from another officer and later had an accident who even the Reagans felt sorry for her and hired - because she was no longer the beauty he married
Married a "booze" heiress - and has used her money and still thinks he's relevant?
McCAIN IS A JOKE AND DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE ANYWHERE BUT IN ONE OF HIS SEVEN HOMES — IN RETIREMENT ?
MY HUMBLE OPINION — AT LEAST I RESEARCH WHO I VOTE FOR
And Beangrinder - final question did you vote for him because he was WHITE and had a DITTO head at his side?
Barbara, I voted for the lesser of 2 evils, so to speak. No way in hell was I going to vote for a man of Obama's background.....a man who refuses to release his college records.....a man who bragged in his book that he sought out socialists and Marxists for companions......a man who sat in the congregation of a radical preacher who hated America & especially "white" America, and then claimed he heard none of Rev. Wright's hate speeches......a man whose claim to fame in his Illinois State Senate was his proclivity to vote "Present" a majority of the time.....and a man whose only national experience was an unfinished U.S. Senate term where most of the time he was campaigning for President.
As to the color of the skin of the man I voted for......it may have made a difference to you if you voted for Obama, because there is absolutely no accomplishment of his that you can point to as a reason to put him in the White House. Plenty of promises but no qualifying background. And I don't know how you can play the race card, because Obama isn't "black"; he's half white.
Obama himself said if he couldn't fix the economy in 3 years, he didn't deserve to be reelected. He also promised to cut the deficit in half, but he has doubled it. Ergo, he doesn't deserve to be reelected and he doesn't understand economics. It appears that YOU were the one that didn't do the research. Try reading "Dreams From My Father" to start with!
McCain added, "And stay off my lawn!"
Both of my senators are senile old goobers (Kyle&McCain).
