NBC polls: Obama edges Romney in three key battleground states

President Barack Obama holds a narrow advantage over presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney in three of the most pivotal presidential battleground states -- Florida, Ohio and Virginia -- according to new NBC-Marist polls.

Florida poll results (pdf)

But in each of these states, Obama's share of the vote is below the 50 percent threshold usually considered safe haven for an incumbent president, and Romney has narrowed the margin in these three battlegrounds since earlier this year.

NBC-Marist polls: Dems have slight edge in three key Senate races

In Florida and Virginia, Obama leads Romney by an identical four-point margin, 48 percent to 44 percent, among registered voters, including those who are undecided but leaning toward a particular candidate.

Virginia poll results (pdf)

In Ohio, the president is ahead by six points, 48 percent to 42 percent.

In March NBC-Marist polls -- conducted during the middle of the GOP primary season -- Obama led Romney by 12 points in Ohio (50 percent to 38 percent), and by a whopping 17 points in Virginia (52 percent to 35 percent). In January, Obama was ahead of Romney by eight points (49 percent to 41 percent).

Ohio poll results (pdf)

Benefiting Obama in these three states is a sense that the economy has improved. Majorities in all three battlegrounds believe that the worst is behind us, rather than the worst is yet to come. That said, 40 percent or less think that the economy will get better in the next year.

Great divide for Obama, Romney: investment, profits, 'fairness'

Also helping the president is the notion that he inherited the current economic conditions, a belief held by a strong majority of respondents in each state: 56 percent in Florida, and 57 percent in both Ohio and Virginia.

The Daily Rundown's Chuck Todd reports on polls in three states – Florida, Virginia and Ohio where President Barack Obama has a slight lead.

And then there's the gender gap. Romney holds a narrow lead with men in all three states. But Obama has a double-digit edge among women (10 points in Florida and Virginia, and 12 points in Ohio).

Obama's approval rating among registered voters is 49 percent in Ohio and Virginia and 48 percent in Florida -- essentially matching his head-to-head percentages against Romney.

But what's hurting the president -- and helping Romney -- is a sense that the country is on wrong track.

Nearly six in 10 respondents in all three states (55 percent in Ohio, 57 percent in Florida, and 58 percent in Virginia) agree with that pessimistic sentiment.

Yet both Romney and Obama essentially fight to a draw in all three states on the question of which candidate will do a better job handling the economy.

First Thoughts: Economic pessimism is back

The NBC-Marist polls also make this clear: Adding potential home-state politicians to the Romney ticket doesn't change the results much in these battleground states.

An Obama-Biden ticket vs. one featuring Romney and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio produces the same head-to-head result in Florida -- 48 percent to 44 percent. But Romney adding former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush narrows it to a two-point Democratic lead, 47 percent to 45 percent.

In Ohio, an Obama-Biden ticket beats one featuring Romney and Sen. Rob Portman, 47 percent to 42 percent.

And in Virginia, the Democratic duo bests a GOP ticket with Gov. Bob McDonnell, 46 percent to 44 percent.

All three NBC-Marist polls were conducted May 17-20. The Florida survey was taken of 1,078 registered voters, and it has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.0 percentage points.

The Ohio poll was taken of 1,103 registered voters, and has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.0 percentage points. And the Virginia survey was taken of 1,076 registered voters, and also has a margin of error of plus-minus 3.0 percentage points.

I remember when Brown was running for senator in Mass a few years ago. The Huffington Post and MoveOn had him losing big in their polls. So did NBC and MSNBC. CBS and ABC had it very close, with Brown losing. Fox News had Brown winning by the exact margin he won by. This is true in all their political race polling. They are consistently the most accurate.

I know you libbies hate to hear that though. LMFAO!!

Murdoch is being investigated for the phone tapping crimes done in Europe by one of the Tabloids his company owns. It has nothing to do with bias, or corruption.

1.) Tabloids are not news.

2.) His company owns several media outlets and he is not involved in day to day operations.

3.) Everyone who isn't a hack knows he will not do any time, it is a political stunt, every politician who has has negative things come out about them from one of his outlets wants a shot at him, but as far as him being convicted of a real crime, sorry, not going to happen.

I can easily say that personally I am better off now than four years ago, and anyone that looks at the situation honestly (fair and balanced?) would have to say the country is better off today. Just a few examples:

1) George Bush is no longer POTUS

2) the War in Iraq is over, and the War in Afghanistan is winding down

3) the economy is slowing improving: jobs are steadily being, manufacturing is recovering, housing starts are back on the rise, and consumer spending is up

4) America has regained it's standing in the world after 8 years of "with us or against us" cowboy diplomacy (Hillary has done a GREAT job).

5) George Bush is no longer POTUS (I know, but it is worth mentioning twice!)

6) the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" era is over, more equal rights for all

Oh, and to borrow a line - "GM is alive and Osama Bin Laden is dead".

I'll agree that we are on the wrong track, politically. But it has nothing to do with Dems Vs. Repubs. How about the people behind the curtains in politics? You know, people like the ex-CEO of Monsanto or ex-Pharma execs who ignore the poisoning of our medications and food supplies. It isn't us vs. them, that is how they deceive, through divide and conquer and most of you eat it up like it's a ribeye.

How about a congressional hearing on how more Americans are on food stamps, while ALL food companies are raising prices for food. Do you think they would raise their prices if they knew the government wouldn't help people? Do you think the same for Oil and Gas companies who get subsidized by government?

As long as people represent Corporations instead of citizens, we're screwed no matter who is President or who has control of Congress. "Break away from your common faction, see through your blurry sight." Metallica, Ride The Lightning, Escape 1984

When GWB took office, the National Debt was about $5.7 Trillion.

When Obama took office, it was about $10 Trillion.

So about 4.3 Trillion increase in 8 years, or an average of a little more than $500 Billion per year.

National Debt is now nearly $16 Trillion. In 3.5 years, it has gone up about $6 Trillion, which is an average of about $1,700 Billion per year.

You have to love all these posts spewing what Romney will do, one post sounds like a verbatim Biden speech. Romney has said we need to end ObamaCare and the uncertainty it brought to the job market. Most in the country agree. Romney has said we need to take advantage of our own natural resources to lower the cost of energy which would help bring jobs back to our country. Romney has said we need to get a handle on our debt problem so that the US becomes a place investors want to put their money again.

ObamaCare is a new problem created by the Democrats and rammed down the throats of the American people. Energy independence and tapping our own natural resources has been discussed for decades, including by candidate Obama. Bringing down the debt was something then candidate Obama stumped on the campaign trail, but completely ignored once he was elected.

So all you spewing the Democratic talking points, it would appear Romney it only talking about cleaning up the mess Obama has made and fulfilling some promises candidate Obama made. There is nothing but uncertainty in this country and that hurts the economy. Failed policies of the past, yes, the past 3.5 years of Obama.

Well, let's see;

We are $5.7 Trillion more in debt (a 57% increase since fiscal 2008).

We have 1.39 million fewer people working since Obama took office (per the official government Bureau of labor Statistics).

The economy has only grown by 4% in 3 years - but if we adjust for Inflation, it has actually shrunk.

Offhand, I'd say that Obama has been a BIG FAILURE.

But when we consider his only practical experience was as a 'Community Organizer', we shouldn't be surprised.

I love how you right wingers just throw crap against the wall to see what sticks. The truth is that the increase in Federal spending under President Obama is at the lowest rate in over fifty years at 1.4%. That included the stimulus and bringing in the off budget wars due to the Bush accounting tricks. The all time leader in increases in federal spending is your Saint Ronnie at over 8.5% which kind of surprises me because I would have thought it was Bush jr who only came in second. CBO projects that under President Obama's plan nations debt decreases over ten years while under Ryan/Romney plan deficit increases at least 4 trillion over ten years.

Here are a couple of other tid bits for you nut cases that can't seem to do your own research.

Mfg is returning for the first time in decades.

Public sector jobs Federal, State, and local lower than any time in recent history.

Private sector job increasing. Unemployment rate actually below 6% in a number of areas across the country.

GM - number one car company in the world.

Energy production higher than any point in last 15 years. U.S. now a net exporter of gas.

Now I think no discussion regarding Presidents is complete without mentioning St Ronnie Reagen. You right wingers surely remember him don't you? Need a hint? Iran Contra ring a bell? Couldn't get congress to go along with his wanting to go to war in Central America so he sold arms to Iran (treason anyone?) to finance covert activities in Central America.

@Bethie. The time has come for Obama to accept that he has not done the job he said he would do and stop blaming others. That seems to be all that he talks about anymore. I do believe his rhetoric is devisive in trying to pit one group against another. Romney has more experience in managing complex issues than Obama did when he started his quest for the presidency. I know people like him but likability is not sufficient for the task at hand and neither is being cool. He panders to people depending on the particular situation.

There things I do not like about Romney...mostly his going to far to the right. That is no better than Obama's appeasing his left side. The deficit is an enormous problem as well as the jobless situation. Too much of Obama's political capital has been spent on Obamacare, his pandering crony capitalism and social issues that many think should have been secondary to fixing the economy.

Big difference between registered voters and likely voters...Obama loses when likely voters are polled in two of those three states and in Virginia it's a lot closer then 47-41. Without Florida and Ohio, we have a new president and America gets back on track in November. Funny thing is both states have republican governors who have gone against everything Obama stands for and both states have seen improvements across the board. How can Obama claim that his policies are working when the evidence strongly supports the opposite conclusion. You have to wonder why he continues to lie? Oh, yeah, it's because he is a failure.

The polls don't really have any significance until after Labor Day when people get more engaged in the election. Unless there is significant upward movement in the economy, Obama is going to lose. His rhetoric on "the war on women", class warfare, and trying to demonize Romney have all failed thus far. All he's done is firm up votes he was going to get anyway while turning more Independents away from him. I anticipate his campaign of desperation is going to turn off even more voters.

The other interesting thing about the primaries is in Arkansas where Obama has a Democratic opponent, John Wolfe, Wolfe was able to get 42% of the Democrats to vote for him and only 52% voted for Obama. In Kentucky, it was even MORE EMBARRASSING for Obama, he lost 42% of the Democrat vote to a candidate called "uncommitted". Then of course there is the convicted felon that took over 40% of the Democrat vote in the West Virginia primary from Obama. Looks like there is a big chunk of Democrats that don't want Obama as their candidate.

It's pretty bad when in three states over 40% of the Democrats don't want Obama and he even was even threatened by an unnamed candidate in Kentucky. In other words, ABO, Anybody But Obama. If Democrats are feeling that way, you can just imagine how the Independents are feeling about him.

The Democrats might want to draft Hillary, it's their only chance, because it looks like Obama is going to lose. Why they didn't go with Hillary in 2008 is beyond me. She's more qualified, more respected, and wouldn't have stooped to the divisive tactics that Obama has pitting whites against minorities, women against men, rich against poor. Hillary would've treated us all as one thing: Americans. Not to mention her style would've generated more cooperation across the aisle in Congress.

What did Obama do? He started demonizing the Republicans in Congress all the way back to his campaign. Then after his inauguration, he starts off by telling the Republican leadership "elections have consequences", "I won", and he hasn't been working in good faith on much of anything. Then the dolt wonders why the Republicans won't cut him any slack. I certainly wouldn't give him any with that attitude. The tone in Washington wasn't good to begin with, but Obama has really poisoned the well. He's the problem, not the solution.

If Team Obama keeps up with all the negativity, all they're going to do is drive people away from him. I know they're doing it because he has a lousy record to run on, but attacking his opponent the way they're doing right now actually reflects poorly on Obama's character.

While Romney is out trying to appeal to voters' optimism, hope, sense of decency, and restoring America's greatness, Obama is trying to appeal to their envy, their sense of vengeance, their sense of pessimism and asking us to accept the current status quo of a stagnant economy and high unemployment. Could he get any more negative?

Obama is doing the exact opposite of what he did back in 2008. He looks bad. He is already acting as if he's been defeated; angry and bitter. Making harsh, exaggerated (and some blatantly untrue) disparaging comments about your competition isn't a winning formula, I don't care what business you're in. But I guess that's what you do when you have no positive record to run on. No significant accomplishments after all the pain and all the money and all the sacrifice the American people have had to endure over the last 3-1/2 years.

I'd be happy if Obama would just be a man and take responsibility for something rather than playing the blame game. It's ALWAYS "somebody else's fault". His failure to get unemployment under control. His failure to stop deficit spending. His failure to cut the national debt in half as he promised. All somebody else's fault.

His attitude has permeated his entire Administration. His AG Eric Holder uses the same excuse when defending himself in the botched "fast and furious" gun running stunt that eventually cost a federal agent his life. He knows nothing about it, it's "somebody else's fault".

Then we have the Secret Service sex scandal and apparently that's "somebody else's fault" too. Same with the out of control spending at the GSA, the director was clueless and said it was "somebody else's fault".

I guess the people in Obama's Administration figure if that excuse works for the President, then it'll work for them. Obama's inability to admit responsibility for anything that goes wrong has infected the ranks of government employees. He's quick to take credit for the good stuff, even if he had nothing to do with it. But mistakes? No, it's "somebody else's fault".

Voters who are well-read, cannot but conclude that A. The Great economic melt-down occurred in Sept., 2008 when George W, Bush was the president...and Obama was a mere candidate.

and that economic turmoil nearly bankrupted the USA after nearly 8 years of Bush and the GOP, which gave US TWO wars, one, which cost over a Trillion dollars plus interest, and was completely un-justified.....and that these wars incited the growth of ALQuaeda which used them to tell Muslims worldwide the America was in a War against their religion, the largest in the world.

The American Auto industry was about to go bankrupt ( Gov. Romney stated that "I would have let them go bankrupt. I like firing people") Obama saved 60,000 jobs, plus jobs along the supply train...car radios, auto tires, auto glass etc. which Detroit has always sub-contracted out....

Obama got us out of Iraq which cost us 6000 American dead,40,000 wounded, and over 115,000 Iraqi dead, and $1 Trillion dollars (That war also resulted in the flight of 150,000 Iraqi Christians from that nation, who had lived in peace under Saddam Hussein...that war caused an eruption of sectarian wars, tribalism and settling of old scores in Iraq AND it opened the door for AL Quaeda adventurers, whom Saddam Hussein had kept out of his nation.

Economic indicators have only improved, broadly, since Obama came into office...you might call him our "White Knight", heck, his Mom was white and from Kansas....

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid, Liam. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

You must be living in a different America than the rest of us. Maybe you're in the "other" America John Edwards referred to when he said we have two Americas. Well, I kind of agree with soon-to-be-convicted felon John Edwards, we do have two Americas. The one with common sense, and the other full of liberals that make no sense.

And only a blithering idiot would not realize that the economy only went south after democrats took over congress. Presidents don't pass budgets, congress does. Presidents don't pass bills, congress does. A president can only sign or veto what congress gives him.

"TWO wars, one, which cost over a Trillion dollars" LIE! Bush's entire war effort was $877 billion. Obama borrowed way more than that every year he's been in office.

"The American Auto industry was about to go bankrupt ( Gov. Romney stated that "I would have let them go bankrupt. I like firing people") Obama saved 60,000 jobs, plus jobs along the supply train...car radios, auto tires, auto glass etc. which Detroit has always sub-contracted out"

LIE! Obama let them go bankrupt, THEY DID GO BANKRUPT ANYWAY! The Romney quote is totally out of context, yet another liberal lie.

Obama did exactly what Romney did at Bain, rearange the management team, close factories, lay off people, and save the company. Obama didn't save $hit beyond that, nothing different would have happened with or without his help.

Obama got us out of Iraq because that was the time table. Again the trillion dollar LIE. Saddam settled sectarian wars by gassing his own enemies. Gas is a WMD by the way. Nobody but the ruling party lived in peace in Iraq, again more liberal LIES. Iraqis were naming babies after Bush they hated Saddam so much.

Saddam was paying the families of suicide bombers, that's how he handled terrorism.

The economy has not improved, more people are unemployed now than when he took office. His wall street cronies are doing great though. He was part of the democrat senate that destroyed the economy in the first place.

I WILL call him a snivelling little fascist, trying to intimidate the supreme court and bypass congress so he can rule the US like the tyrant he aspires to be.

Liam, I don't know why a lot of people cannot acknowledge that Obama has helped our country avoid a major economic disaster--if we had used austerity measures instead of stimulus, we'd be going down the same road as Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc. I guess he was supposed to perform a miraculous recovery even without the cooperation of many members of Congress.

Obama is doing a great job. A single term with Romney as President would strip away the last protections the middle class has and put us into servitude.

Read the Ryan budget, that Romney fully supports. Goodbye Medicare, Goodbye Social Security, Goodbye EPA, Goodbye Minimum Wage, Hello all Corps who want to strip the US of all it's resources without ANY restrictions. Within 4 yrs a Romney economy would literally wipe out the middle class. There will only be very wealthy and the poor.

      Bethie,

I agree the economy was helped by the $800ish billion stimulus package, and cutting general government expenditures at that time would have been a bad decision.

However, I do not think we got very much for our $800 billion. If it had been spent according to Keynesian economics (i.e.; deficit spend on infrastructure projects that promote future private industry growth), I think it would have been great. Instead, only about 10 or 15% went to infrastructure, and the rest went to a variety of "less economically useful" projects such as the multi-million dollar turtle crossing they built in my town.

I don't blame Obama for the recession, but I do blame him for the lackluster recovery. If we had a Clinton or Reagan (charismatic leaders that were able to energize the country and work across party lines), I think we would be in much better shape economically by now.

      ItsSimple,

I don't like all of Ryan's plans, but if we continue on our current path, all of the programs you listed will be gone in a decade or two when we become the next Greece. Obama's own 10 year estimates show about a $6 Trillion deficit in Medicare/Medicaid alone...that is not remotely sustainable.

I'm fine with ditching Ryan's approach if we have a valid alternative...

Good morning Kay-Bee, or should I say "Minnie".

After I read your post I had to "ignore" a few more folks who just didn't get the message. I really need to look in my ignore file and get a count. It's got to be over 200 by now.

I choose simply to ignore the ignorant rather than engage them. I encourage them to do the same with me. I don't care what they have to say and I don't care if they ignore me as well. We all go home a lot happier and, like the rest of these posts, it has about as much impact on things as gnat farts in a high wind.

Have a nice weekend and enjoy the three day holiday.

      Obama/Biden 2012

Happy Memorial Day Weekend to you, skip!

I know I'm unlikely to change any closed minds with my comments, but I feel it's my duty as an American to present another side of the issues, beyond the FOX talking points/ Limbaugh ideology that so many seem to buy without an examination.

We all have our own perspectives, based on our personal backgrounds and situations, and we are all entitled to our opinions and our votes. There isn't any way to move forward that will equally benefit every last American citizen, but since we tried it the Bush way --and we can see where that got us-- it's worthwhile in my opinion to listen to those who say it's far better for this country to build a strong middle class than it is to return to the failed 'trickle-down' ideology that put us in a tailspin.

i'll just bet this upcoming decision for the next president will be the most televised event America has seen in the past 10-20 years.

my vote goes to Romney, he has a better vision, better solution and IS FOR AMERICA than obama has been. Of course Romney's first few months in office will be spent cleaning up after the damage and mess obama made, but Romney will do it, with out smearing and crapping over obama like obama is doing to him.

Also helping the president is the notion that he inherited the current economic conditions

Even though he was in congress and voted for all the things that contributed to our economic woes... Besides the fact that he knew what was coming down the pipe and he applied for the job. I have no pity for the position that he has put himself in.

Romney proves everyday he is not presidential material. First He says he will gut education because the economy is improving and his only way to make it or improve more is to attack teacher unions who he says are all evil. Second he wants to cut SS,Medicare, Medicaid and food stamps Via Paul Ryan Budget he says is the only way to get the USA back from the Evil Poor and middle Class whom strip the extremely Rich of there wealth. Third he wants to give more huge tax cuts to the extremely rich paid for by more cuts to programs for the middle class and poor. Fourth he wants to make an amendment to the constitution that there is no separation of church and state so that in church they can push Ideas and votes right at the pulpit without fear of losing that tax exempt status.

The true number in these polls show Obama with a much larger wide lead in all these states. There are some retarded journalist who try to make more of a story outta this like they did with the "huge waves" of election in 2010 that came in and bought elections unchecked with unlimited overseas China money. Reporting crap that you think will create a story for the sake of trying to push rating amounts to nothing more then what the Clowns at Faux fake cartoon News does and that is a sad state to be in.

Several Polls show Obama with much larger leads in all these Battleground states and why shouldn't he the choice is a robot fake etch-a sketch Crook who buys companies fires the workers and profits form the bankruptcy's. His state while Governor was 48 outta 50 in job growth. He is the candidate that Kennedy says "While Im Pro choice Romney is Mutiple Choice"

      Ron,

Obama and most Democrats (and probably some Republicans) wanted more infrastructure spending, but they had to give in to conservatives who wanted to cut taxes. I really feel that Pres. Obama has had more-than-usual obstructionism to deal with as he tried to help the economy recover. I think it's ridiculous to believe that Romney could do better--he'll just keep most of Obama's policies in place, and the ones he dismantles will damage the country's chances of recovery. I do not feel that he has our best interests at heart.

      Patriotic American,

Here are some real examples of flip flops, or just plain lies...

Adding Debt & Raising the Debt Ceiling

As a Senator, Obama opposed raising the debt ceiling, and said adding 4 trillion in was ”unpatriotic”. As President, he insisted the debt ceiling be raised and has added substantially more than 4 trillion to the debt.

      Bush Tax Cuts

In 2008, Obama said that, as President, he would repeal the Bush tax cuts for the rich. In 2010, he extended those cuts.

      Capital Gains Taxes

In 2008, Obama said that, as President, he would raise taxes on capital gains and dividends for higher-income taxpayers. He has not done so.

      Raising Taxes

In 2008, Obama pledged that, ”no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes. My opponent can’t make that pledge.” However, he has raised taxes on tanning, cigarettes, and those who do not purchase health insurance (regardless of income).

      Senior Income Tax

In 2008, Obama said that, as president, he would ”eliminate all income taxation of seniors making less than $50,000 per year”. He has not done so.

      PAYGO

Shortlyafter entering office, Obama signed PAYGO legislation which demanded that all expenditures be paid for unless they are part of an emergency. Democrats in Congress started using the loophole to bypass the legislation almost immediately. Obama touted that a previous extension of unemployment benefits was fully paid for, but later blasted Republicans for not continuing to extend those benefits without paying for them.

      Spending Freezes

In 2008, Obama derided spending freezes as ”using a hatchet where you need a scalpel” and ”unfair burden-sharing”. He said that, although it’s ”proposed periodically”, a spending freeze ”doesn’t happen”. In 2010, Obama announced support for a three-year federal spending freeze on discretionary spending not related to national security.

      Earmarks

In 2008, Obama’s campaign said that, as President, he would reduce earmarks ”to less than $7.8 billion a year, the level they were at before 1994″. Earmarks for fiscal year 2010 were more than $15 billion.

      Competitive Bidding on Earmarks

In 2008, Obama said that, as President, he would ”ensure that federal contracts over $25,000 are competitively bid”. He has not done so.

      Tax Credits for Child Care

In 2008, Obama said that, as president, he would increase the tax credits for child care and dependent care, and make such credits refundable. He has not done so.

      Killing NASA Program

“In August 2008, Senator Obama announced, as The Washington Post noted, “a detailed comprehensive space plan that includes $2 billion in new funding to reinvigorate NASA”.

But, as The Washington Post reported in March 2010, President Obama later shattered the dreams of the NASA community with a decision “to kill NASA’s Constellation program, crafted during the Bush administration with an ambitious goal of putting astronauts back on the moon by 2020.”

      FOREIGN POLICY

      Iraq Timetable

Obama promised to end the war in Iraq and bring the all the troops home in 2009. He later changed his tune to say the withdrawal depends on conditions on the grounds and troops remained in Iraq past 2009.

      Iraq Surge

Obama originally opposed the Iraq surge and claimed that extra troops would not do anything to quell sectarian violence. However, after the surge was clearly successful, Obama suggested that everyone knew the surge would decrease violence in Iraq.

      Military Action without Congressional Approval

“President Obama has shown a striking lack of consistency with regard to the question of Congressional authorisation and the use of force. In a 2007 interview with The Boston Globe, then Senator Obama declared:

“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation. In instances of self-defense, the President would be within his constitutional authority to act before advising Congress or seeking its consent. History has shown us time and again, however, that military action is most successful when it is authorized and supported by the Legislative branch. It is always preferable to have the informed consent of Congress prior to any military action.”

However, as President in March 2011, Barack Obama authorized military action against the Libyan regime without consulting Congress, a decision which drew heavy fire on Capitol Hill.”

Dropping Missile Defenses in Poland to appease Russia

“In his Prague speech in April 2009, President Obama pledged to move forward with the Bush-era plans for Third Site missile defences in Poland and the Czech Republic…

Just six months later however, the Obama administration surrendered to Russian demands, and dramatically dropped plans for Third Site.”

There has been speculation that Obama’s recent Hot-Mic comments to Russia’s president about flexibility after the election signal further concessions in this area.

      Israel

While giving a speech in front of the Pro-Israel group AIPAC in 2008, Obama proclaimed that Jerusalem must remain the undivided capital of Israel. However, a few days later his advisers were clarifying that he no longer believes that and the division of Jerusalem is actually an issue to be addressed in negotiations.

Obama repeated the same strategy in 2012 when he promised to “have Israel’s back” on Iran in his 2012 AIPAC speech and backtracked a few days later.

Letting Sudan off the hook for the Darfur genocide

In 2004, Senator Obama was a prominent supporter of a “humanitarian intervention” to halt state-sponsored mass killing in Darfur, declaring in a speech that ‘we cannot, in good conscience, stand by and let the genocide continue.’ He advocated tough UN sanctions against the brutal regime of Omar Hassan al-Bashir, which “should freeze the assets of the Sudanese government, its leaders and business affiliates; outlaw arms sales and transfers to Sudan; and prohibit the purchase of Chinese oil.”

However, as president, Obama dramatically changed his tune, extending the hand of friendship to Bashir, despite the fact the Sudanese government and its proxy Janjaweed Arab militias had butchered hundreds of thousands of people”.

Abandoning Mubarak in Egypt after calling him a “stalwart ally”

Big picture foreign policy strategy has not been a forté of this administration, as demonstrated by its inconsistent policy on Egypt and the Middle East. In an interview with the BBC’s Justin Webb in June 2009, when asked if he viewed President Mubarak as an authoritarian ruler, President Obama declared:

No, I tend not to use labels for folks. I haven’t met him; I’ve spoken to him on the phone. He has been a stalwart ally, in many respects, to the United States. He has sustained peace with Israel, which is a very difficult thing to do in that region, but he has never resorted to unnecessary demagoguing of the issue and has tried to maintain that relationship. So I think he has been a force for stability and good in the region.

20 months later, the White House emphatically called for Mubarak to go”.

      Cuba Embargo

Obama opposed the embargo in 2004, but later supported it when speaking in front of a Cuban audience during his run for president. It is still in place today.

      Recognizing Armenian Genocide

In 2008, Obama said he would recognize the Armenian Genocide once he is president. He has not done so.

      Meeting with Iran Without Preconditions

Obama tried to distance himself from the position that he would meet with Iran without preconditions during the 2008 campaign by claiming there would be “preparations”, before returning to his original position.

      Iran Threat

Obama has never had a consistent position on Iran, but one particular shift over a two day period in 2008 is the greatest example of Obama’s waffling on the issue. On one day Obama suggested that Iran does not “pose a serious threat to us”, but the very next day he was describing Iran as a “grave threat”.

Designating Revolutionary Guard as a Terrorist Group

In September 2007, Obama voted against the Kyl-Lieberman bill which would designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. Obama attacked Hillary Clinton for voting for the bill, but later claimed that he supported labeling the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization. Obama explained his vote against the bill using a variety of different reasons at different times.

      NAFTA

During the 2008 campaign Obama was very critical of NAFTA, but later referred to his own rhetoric as “overheated and amplified.”

      Meeting with Chavez

While running for office, Obama stated that he would meet with Hugo Chavez and discuss his support for FARC on one day and then said governments supporting FARC should be isolated the next.

Annual “State of the World” Address

In 2008, Obama said that, as president, he would ”give an annual State of the World address to the American people in which I lay out our national security policy”. He has never given any such address.

      Promised to Improve America’s Image

A key foreign policy theme of the Obama presidential election campaign was the notion that President Bush had damaged America’s image on the world stage, with his supposedly ‘cowboy’ policies. In the words of a campaign document, “Barack Obama and Joe Biden will restore America’s standing in the world by providing a new American leadership to meet the challenges of a new century”.

As President, however, Obama has done exactly the opposite, insulting key allies such as Great Britain, Israel and Poland, projecting weak leadership, and undermining the standing of the United States as the world’s only superpower. As I’ve noted before:

“No American president in modern times has invested less effort in maintaining US alliances than Barack Obama. Whether it is siding with Marxists in Honduras against pro-American forces, condemning Israel, throwing the Poles and Czechs under the bus, or trashing the Anglo-American Special Relationship, the Obama administration has gone out of its way to kick its allies in the teeth while kowtowing to America’s enemies. For a president who boasted in his election campaign of restoring America’s “standing” in the world, Obama has done a spectacularly bad job of preserving friendships with Washington’s closest friends.”

      ENERGY

      Gas Prices

Obama, along with many other leading Democrats, blamed George W. Bush for high gas prices when he was President. Yet now that prices have reached near record highs under his administration, Obama isclaiming that he has no control of those prices. Furthermore, Obama has previously said he supports a gradual shift to higher gas prices, but now laughs off the claim that he is rooting for higher prices to reduce dependency.

      Cap and Trade

In 2008, Obama said that, as president, he would “set a hard cap on all carbon emissions at a level that scientists say is necessary to curb global warming – an 80% reduction by 2050″. No cap and trade legislation has been passed.

      Selling Oil from Strategic Reserve

In July 2007, Obama rejected selling oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which he said should be “reserved for a genuine emergency.” A month later, Obama said, “We should sell 70 million barrels of oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve for less expensive crude, which in the past has lowered gas prices within two weeks”, even though gas prices were higher in July 2007 than in August 2007.

      Keystone XL

Obama touted the possibility of a pipeline during his 2008 campaign, but rejected rapid approval of the Keystone XL pipeline this year.

      Nuclear Power

Obama told a group of Democratic Governors in June of 2008 that he was open to expanding nuclear power after having previously opposed it.

      IMMIGRATION & HEALTHCARE

      Immigration Reform

In 2008, Obama said that, as President, he would introduce comprehensive immigration reform legislation in his first year. He did not. He has now made the same promise for the first year of his second term.

      Health Care Mandate

Obama was against the individual mandate before it became a central part of his signature legislation.

      Single Payer Health Care

In 2003, as an Illinois state senator, Obama said, ”I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer universal health care program.” In 2009, Obama said, ”I have not said that I was a single-payer supporter.”

      Keeping Your Insurance

Leading up to the passage of Obamacare, Obama promised Americans that they would be able to keep their current insurance plan if they like it. Further analysis by the CBO has revealed that Obamacare would cause many seniors to have their Medicare Advantage coverage cut in half and millions to be dropped from their employer-provided insurance.

      Cost of Obamacare

Obama promised that he would “not sign [a healthcare bill] if it adds one dime to the deficit, now or in the future, period.” Yet, a new analysis determines that his bill will add quite a bit to future deficits.

      Insuring All Americans

Obama outlined three goals for his health care legislation. Lowering the cost curve and insuring all Americans were two of the three. It has now been determined that Obamacare will add to the deficit and 25 million Americans will remain uninsured.

      Reconciliation

In 2010, Obama signed into law health care reform that was passed via reconciliation, contrary to his 2007 insistence that health care reform should not be passed by a bare ”50 plus one majority”, and his 2005 rejection of the ‘nuclear option’ in the Senate.

      Televising Healthcare Negotiations

In 2008, Obama said, when it came to crafting health care reform, ”we’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN.” Many crucial negotiations pertaining to health care reform were not televised.

      Taxing Health Benefits

In 2008, Obama criticized his presidential opponent, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), saying, ”for the first time in American history, he wants to tax your health benefits.” In 2010, Obama signed into law health care reform legislation that puts a 40% tax on some health insurance policies.

      Importing Cheaper Drugs

In 2008, Obama said that, as President, his health care reform would allow Americans to import cheaper prescription drugs. The health care reform he signed into law does not allow this.

Cracking Down on Employers of Illegal Immigrants

Obama opposed cracking down on employers of illegal immigrants before running for President, but supported it during his run.

      DEFENSE

      Closing Guantanamo

In 2008, Obama’s campaign said that, as president, he would ”close the detention facility at Guantanamo.” And, in January 2009, Obama signed an executive order calling for the Guantanamo Bay facility to be closed. It remains open.

      Military tribunals for terror suspects

In the 2008 campaign, Obama said that, as president, he would end the use of military commissions with respect to terrorism suspects and detainees. However, they are still in use.

      Rendition of Terror Suspects

“In a 2007 Foreign Affairs article, Senator Obama gave a strong indication that he would end the Bush administration practice of rendition of terror suspects:

“To build a better, freer world, we must first behave in ways that reflect the decency and aspirations of the American people… This means ending the practices of shipping away prisoners in the dead of night to be tortured in far-off countries, of detaining thousands without charge or trial, of maintaining a network of secret prisons to jail people beyond the reach of the law.”

But, as The New York Times reported in August 2009, the Obama administration’s Interrogation and Transfer Task Force announced that it would retain renditions, but with what The Times referred to as “more oversight.’”

      Photos of Detainee Abuse

In April 2009, the Obama administration said it planned to release photos depicting abuse of detainees being held by the U.S. overseas. The administration then reversed its decision, and said it would resist court rulings demanding the release of such photos.

      Patriot Act

Obama said he would repeal the Patriot Act in a 2003 questionnaire, but later voted to renew it in the Senate.

      FISA

In 2007, Obama pleased liberal advocates by promising to filibuster any bill that gave amnesty to telecommunication companies that were assisting authorities with wiretapping activities. Obama voted for a bill that did just that in July of 2008.

      Killing Osama Bin Laden

Obama highlighted the importance of killing Osama Bin Laden while running for president and after OBL was killed in Pakistan, but made the claim that it was no longer “essential” when he first got into office.

The people in Florida know that the Ryan plan only effects those age 48 and YOUNGER.

        Everyone else stays the same.

Personally I would have loved to had my own personal account like Bush offered. At least I would still have all my money where the government can't take it and my 401K had been closed. But no I didn't get that choice and just like everyone else I lost 1/3 of my retirement.

The elderly people in Fla. have heard it all over their lives and *killing granny* stories do not work on them.

Knowing their lives will be in the hands of a panel in Washington is new to them and they do NOT like it.

        not a troll,

Here's a clue: Medicare as we know it is going to end no matter who is elected. It is financially unsustainable. Period.

The difference between Ryan and apparently everyone on the left is that at least Ryan admits there is a problem and proposes a (partial) solution. Your beloved leader denies the obvious so forcefully that one has to question either his intellegence or his basic honesty. Are you just thinking he'll have "more leeway" after the election?

Mitt cannot deny his family's four generation tie to the upper management of the LDS. The evangelical voter needs to look at this "religion". Their views about holy people from another planet and the angel Moroni would completely destroy true Christianity's views.

Someone who does not buy a successful corporation, drives it into the ground, saddles it with debt, fires all the workers, and then files for bankruptcy and let's the American people pay the bill. Someone who supports civil rights for everyone in this nation, and doesn't want to tell women what they can and cannot do with their bodies.

Seniors are going to love the fact that Obama takes 500 billion from Medicare to pay for ObamaCare. So it would seem Medicare as seniors know it is already coming to an end, under Obama.

I believe you must have been confused about the Bush personal accounts - they would have been invested in the stock market and you would have lost a significant amount of money (until recently when the stock market went back up). Your Social Security, instad, remained safe and stable, no changes in benefits. You could always invest your 401k in a Money Market or more stable fund and you wouldn't lose anything.

Seta - so Mitt Romney is a real American, and President Obama is not? Give me a break. That "birther" crap has been refuted by cold hard facts so many times it is a waste of time to repeat it. And youdo know Romney was againt the Staples idea, didnt think it would work until his partners talked him into it. And most of the jobs came AFTER he left Bain.

And if Romney is so upfront and honest, why won't he release his tax returns? President Obama and almost all other candidates for POTUS released multiple years of returns, why not Romney?

And you make it sound like Romney gave up so much for his years of "public service" - he was still making millions off his Bain Capital deals (taxed at a ridiculously low tax rate) so he could afford to.

A few highlights you left out:

-Ten Years as a leader of his religion - which he won't talk about

-Four years as (moderate) Governor of Massachusetts - which he won't talk about because of the government health care he implemented which is a model for the AHCA.

-Two Year "mission" in France - living in a mansion with servants to avoid the Vietnam War draft

-Two-plus years running for the Senate in Massachusets - lost to Ted Kennedy even though he said he would be "to the left of Kennedy"on gay rights

-Five-plus years running for President, lost to McCain the last cycle, will lose to Obama in November.

You could show a video of Barack Obama saying in a speech that he's going to round up children and stand them up against a wall, and shoot them, and you wouldn't get through to Obama supporters...

These are people who have never, in their adult lives, been able to admit when they were wrong. They always have an excuse. It's always someone or something else's fault. He gave a speech where he said he would give "indefinite detention" without trial, and it blew right past them.

Never admit we are wrong? That is more the Republican approach:

George Bush couldn't think of anything he had done wrong or would change in his presidency

Mitt Romney wants to return to the "trickle down' economics and deregulation that helped contribute to this economic crisis

Mitt Romney said "let Detroit go bankrupt"- then won't admit that the bailout worked - then tries to take credit for it!

McCain & Romney in 2007/2008 both criticized Barack Obama for saying he would go into Pakistan to get Bin Laden, then claimed "anyone would make that decision".

Sounds like it is the Republicans who can't admit when they are wrong.

Actually that was the money George W.Bush raided to pay for unpaid Prescription drug benefits that actually kept sky-rocking the prices without keeping them in Check. Also the same referenced thing many seen on Faux fake Cartoon News with people in 2010 that Held up signs "Keep your hands off my Medicare" While they were duped into caring these sign Republican Lawmakers were planning on Execution of Destroying the Plan. The really easy way to solve Medicare which has already been proved is to allow the cap to be raised another 1.4 percent meaning people pay just a fraction more into it but make it solvent for more then 75 years but anything that saves it Republican Lawmakers try to Block it because they are the party of "NO". They would see this as raising taxes and not making Medicare Solvent and have pledged to never ever raise taxes Because int he republican Lawmakers Brain "No problem in the world exist that a huge Tax cut to the the extremely Rich paid for pay the middle class and poor wouldnt fix."

Actually 1000 isnt a bad number for a statistical poll. The problem is im dubious about their selection techniques as well as their sample pool. They have a history of choosing weird pools and then saying they accurately describe what the vote will be at election time. Most of the polls that poll people who are likely voters that are (correctly) choosen at random put Obama behind about 6 points (with a 95% confidence give or take 4 points). Unfortunately most people don't understand statistics and how they can mean absolutely nothing if you don't do everything correctly. (hence the lies damn lies and statistics sayings they work great if you do it right unfortunately this is a NBC poll)

Ah, Mitt worshipper, that blowhard ruined so many lives with his law and mba degrees. While staples continues to pay its employees no benefits and low salaries, he is building a car elevator for Ann's two cadillacs. Plus the fact that he accepted no salary those years only proves how wealthy his parents were. Plus, his parents put him through Harvard. That draft notice it appears was useless since he, during his country's time of war and hence need, he, like his 5 sons and other republican chickenhawks, spent those good old days pushing the united states into one war after another, and he and they continue that trend today. What do those kids do anyway? I always see them standing behind dear ole dad cheering hom on; what do they do? Following dad's example? He hasn't done anything since 2002. 10 years. No charities, no schools, no sponsorships for disaster victims -- nothing. If u are wanting to claim that he doesn't blow his own horn, well, where did u find out all of this information which u do not provide proof of. Yeah, so continue your lies about the pres who kept us from an economic depression, saved the auto industry, took the unemployment from 10.1 down to 8.1, created 3.7 million jobs with the recovery act and cut taxes -- a man who rose to leader of the free world without a handout or a rich parent or a connection like being the son of a Governor or even being a white male - all by himself. The jealousy on the right flies in the face of this living, breathing example of the American dream -- a man so obstructed by his political enemies that he cannot give a first day of school pep talk to schoolchildren on the merits and rewards of studying hard without their parents' permission, but these same people let their kids watch the Kardashians without fail every week, says something about our educational system. I don't see Romney as an honorable man; just an opportunist who changes political positions in order to become a candidate. The fact that his policies would let one person starve or one person go without healthcare is enough for me to know what kind of integrity he has or what a religious man he is. No, thanks, why take hamburger from the street when u have steak in the kitchen.

You all sound like Willard drove the tractor-trailer trucks and worked behind the cash register or stocked shells during the graveyard shift while putting himself through college like the rest of us did. He just sat behind a desk and pushed paper; the same paper he will use to cut food and shelter for the poor while increasing our debt by giving tax breaks to millionnaires while YOU pay a higher tax rate than he does. Like I always say: God, u cons r stupid (and u still never work).

Oh, yeah, when he went to bail out (heard that word before?) the olympics, he went to the FEDERAL government (nope, not his buddy investors). Yup, the privately-owned and very wealthy olympic committee was rescued with my tax money.

Especially in Florida the Ryan voucher plan will be rejected. The senior citizen is a committed voter who will show up at the polls and Rick Scott can't find a way to remove them from the eligible voter rolls.

Kind of like RomneyCare... with one differnce. Its to cover the 30+Million Americans who could not afford health care. It also defeats the GOP mantra. "If you get sick, we are not going to help you. However, we are going to charge you an astronomical fee because we own the private drug companies.. and thanks to former President Bush, we do not have to negotiate the prices".

NOT for the American people. He is an arrogant bastard to think he can change anything but the amounts of money he stuffs in his pocket. God I hate him and that smiley smirk he fakes when in front of the camera. I just want to shove my fist down is mormon throat. No way on Gods grean earth this prick becomes our next president. Polls dont mean squat either. The last election was the same old crap. This will be a landslide victory for Obama in November.

Regarding Ryan's plan, it is the only budget plan put forward that addresses the federal deficit in a way that will not damage the economy. It gradually lowers the growth of spending until revenue catches up. Raising taxes does not address the deficit (as it does not raise enough money), it (letting the tax reductions expire) also according to the CBO will send the economy back into recession in 2013. The Dems just do not get it.

FedupwithFED said "local" news, not fox. Not that we'd believe an NBC poll on this election anyway. They think this will psych those who want Obama gone out, but the opposite is true. Keep up the good work NBC. You'll encourage all who vote against Obama to make sure they vote!!!

And by the way that "how violent you gopers have become" is a real laugh. Even Obama's mouth piece was flumuxed when asked if Obama still supports the Occupy bunch after the events in Chicago. He and the Union backed these guys and they turned out to be as nasty and vicious as his other supporters. Jokes on him I guess.

Mitt can't even buy an audience of size. Ohio will go Democrat because the auto industry and all the related businesses still exists. When we get a little closer to November this will be driven home OBAMA GOT OSAMA AND SAVED GM AND CHRYSLER. Mitt's article telling Detroit to go broke will be shown over and over and over again.

Forget Ohio-the other two states could easily go Republican.

The tickets are ALWAYS free! Compare how many people came to see President Obama in Columbus (10,000) versus when Romney came (500?).

If you dont know one person here in Ohio who will vote for Obama in November then apparently you don't know any teachers, fire fighters, police officers, or government employees who are all still pissed off at Prop 2.

You also must not know anyone who works for GM, Chrysler, or any of the many companies that are part of their supply chain here in Ohio. SHifts added at the GM plantin Lordstown, shifts added at the Chrysler plant in Toledo....

I live in Ohio, and I WILL vote for Obama!! Romney will be the end of the US. Turn us back in to the laughing stock of the world, and effectively end the middle class. Why would anyone vote for Romney unless they themselves are rich? Those are the ONLY people who would benefit from it. Anyone else who votes for him is just going to make their lives worse. Do people not realize that he believes in magic underwear and the GOP has turned into the Christian Taliban??? Women's rights are under attack, gays are under attack... basically anyone who isn't white, male, straight and a Jesus freak is going to be under attack by the GOP. The Teabaggers have drastically changed the GOP... and not for the better!

People need to look honestly at the mess that Obama came into (and it was still unfolding and out of his control) and where we are now vs. where we could've been now. Obama can't force companies to hire. One of the things going on is companies are NOT hiring to try to get Obama out of office. Numbers don't lie, though... a good number of companies have had RECORD BREAKING PROFITS over the last four years. Think about why they aren't hiring???? Romney wanted to let the auto industry die. Think about how many hundreds of thousands MORE people would be in dire straights right now and how much worse the economy would be if that had happened. People need to THINK!!! Every little thing that happens that couldn't possibly be controlled by the POTUS, Obama gets blamed. It's time to start thinking and stop drinking the kool aid!!

          Jag,

I wish I lived in Ohio or another swing state where my vote would count more. Living in Texas, I feel that my vote won't really count (though I will still vote for Obama). I will discuss issues with anyone who can do so civilly. Unfortunately, that seems to be a pretty rare characteristic. I will register voters, let them know when and where they can vote, and encourage people to participate in the process no matter whom they support. I will donate to Obama's campaign as I did last time, put a sign in my yard, wear a button, put a magnet on my car, etc. I live in a college town, so that helps (nobody gives me too much grief), but it's an oasis in the middle of the desert. Anyway, be glad you live in a state where you have a chance to help get the President reelected. I was hoping we could turn Texas purple this year, but it's looking like it could be a repeat of 2008.

In Ohio yes we are going to vote for Obama. Kasuck and Republican lawmakers pushed through SB5 trying to kill all Unions even removing Republican lawmakers who would not vote for it and would have ended it before it got to the floor. We had to have a referendum and turned in almost 2 million ballots to get it on the ballot which we overturned it by a majority of 68 percent. Romney was here before that vote and was pushing for it to Pass and not be overturned he is not with Voters at all and is completely a waste of space. What goes around comes around and payback is coming for pushing agendas against Firefighters, Police, Teachers, nurses to give Rich more breaks and attacking many of our middle class will not fly.

          Pat.AM USA,

What have you stated worth defending? Nothing. garble resentment without substance.

Here's three reasons I do not want B O to lead America again in the next elections.

Please show me where B O has shown leadership or put America first in his actions.

1st. When the oil platform exploded in the gulf of Mexico Obama refused help from Norway who offered to send three oil skimming vessels. He did not get involved or show leadership to prevent damage to the ECO system or demand the best problem solvers meet to resolve the leak headed to shore.(American Gulf Shores)

Later BO gave 200 million to Petro Bra A Brazilian oil drilling co. stating and I quote

"America will be your Best customer"

2nd. The Health Care issue seemed very confusing with 2,300 pages that were unclear of how the new coverage will work. B O stated several different unclear answers as to the effect it will have between all age groups. 60% of voters said they DO NOT approve of being forced to by coverage. 3/5 of people wondered if the constitution allowed those demands. It's in court after Millions wasted, and waiting approval via Supreme Judges.

3rd. The President bragged about being drunk for weeks, smoking pot, and using COKE.

His book describes pushing around women a violent act unhealthy behavior thats BAD.

He's may be only one drink or line away from slipping into the habit once again, leaving America at risk while the addiction take over.

Any and all real answers will be welcomed to help me understand your support for B O.

MSNBC is so in the tank for our incompetent, narcissistic, socialist President that no story regarding Obama is credible. Give up trying to get the man reelected. His disgraceful defeat in November will cement his legacy as the African American Jimmy Carter. The only difference is that Obama does not have an embarrassing, beer swilling brother named Billy.

Do you even understand how polls work?

The Q poll which had Romney leading by 6 was way off statistically.

            Currently in FL .. 40%D 36%R and 24%I.. 67%white 12%black and 13%hisp.

            Q Poll... 29%D 37%R 29%I .. 80+% white, 7%black 8%hisp..

..no way the 2012 electorate will look as Q projects thus their numbers are way off...

..when you read polls, check the cross tabs...

NBC is desperate for some "pro-obama" propaganda aren't they?

When you have to skew your polls by as much as 9% in favor of Democrats to give Obama a 3% "advantage" you are only highlighting your lack of integrity and your desperation.

              Polled voters by percentage:
              Florida
              Democrat 43
              Republican 35

              Virginia
              Democrat 31
              Republican 29

I cannot believe that Romney is even close. I mean this guy is the very personification and embodiment of the "Corporate Executive" and "Wall Street Crook" that we need to get OUT of Government !!!

Electing Romney would be the equivalent of putting the Fox in charge of the Hen-House as they say. A big mistake. Do we want to return to the failed Republican economic ideology of "even more for the Rich" and "less for everyone else ?"

Hey - if you want America to become a 2 Class country like South America -
go ahead and vote for Romney he's your Man....but THIS American works too hard and gets paid too little to even THINK about voting Republican.

My only complaint with Obama (and centrist Democrats) is they aren't fighting hard enough to TAX THE RICH ! There is plenty of wealth and profits being created in this country - the problem is the Rich are getting all of it and not sharing it with the Workers and Employees !!!

I've seen the Electoral numbers - and Obama looks good in the Swing States -
he can "afford" to lose Ohio OR Florida and still win re-election.
However Romney cannot "afford" to lose EITHER ONE - or it's all over over for him.
In other words - in order for Romney to reach 270 - he must win BOTH States
or it's nearly impossible mathematically for him to reach 270.

Wake Up America - the Rich are NOT your friends - they are your COMPETITION !
              Get a clue people.

Wow. A real communist here folks. Yes, we need a real executive and will assist the wealthy corporations to put people back to work. Obama's solution is to put everyone on government aid so they are dependent. Go read about capitalism and if you don't agree, move to a social country. We are great because of American business and yes they are rewarded for their success and become the 1%. Good for them. Facebook founders just made billions - yet you probably have a facebook page. They employ thousands. Running a company for profit is the only way to stay in business. Obama hasn't a clue of how to run anything and you dope heads put him in the top executive of our government. That is why it is called the "Executive" branch of government. The government is not chartered with providing work but national security and inter-state issues. They need to get out of the way and let corporations prosper.....

The rich are not our friends? Class warfare has worked on you, just like Marx did in Russia. The rich are rich because of SUCCESS and in America you too can join them if you work hard and are a SUCCESS. The rich share with us by employing us and giving us profit sharing. Anyone with a retirement fund owns the companies and we want them to do well so we can do well. You do not understand anything about how the economy works and I suggest you probably do not know how to vote anyway....

Jump on out there and start your own business...do all the research, formulate a business model, recruit the seed money and then start raking in all the cash after launching your new company. A business is guaranteed to make all kinds of obscene profits...right? So go for it....it only takes a certain degree of smarts, talent and drive.....but I guess that's where the problem lies. Smarts, talent and drive are the intangibles that are just not part of the picture. Which is too bad...because they're really the most important components.

Notatroll-You are a dreamer. Failed Governor Scott Walker has outspent the Democrats 25-1 in Wisconsin fighting his removal from office and is tied in all recent polls. If money can't buy Failed Governor Scott Walker love in Wisconsin against a weak challenger the $$$$$$$$$$$$(speech) folks are in serious trouble. Mitt will barely outspend Obama-maybe 2-1. If Failed Governor Scott Walker and his $$$$$$$$$$$(speech) buddies can't buy Wisconsin it may severely reduce Mitt's donations. Business people are looking for R.O.I. and if Failed Governor Scott Walker proves that $$$$$$$$$$$$$(speech) can't buy elections they will cut their losses and Mitt will be a victim of his own philosophy.

Texasliberal, You are a rare breed it Texas. You must catch crap where ever you go. Now, yes there are successful people in the US, thats what makes this country great. YOU can succeed here if your willing to work hard and better than others. Now you want all those people to give what they have earned so you dont have too? It doesnt wash for me, I could tell you about my 6 sibling poorer than dirt upbringing and how I got to owning two homes 4 cars and enough assets to be able to retire in 2 years with out Social Security. But I wont. Lets just say I put my nose to the grindstone and have not let up since. Please realize you could take every penny from every rich guy in America( I dont know how you define rich) and in a year we would all be broke and poor.

Sure, let's punish success! Let's confiscate everything the rich own even though it won't make a dent in the federal debt! It will make the slackers feel better!

This is what Obama has done to this country, he wants people to blame everyone else for their lack of accomplishment just like he does. Pathetic.

Obama hasn't built anything in his life, and certainly hasn't built successful business after successful business like Mitt Romney and Warren Buffet have and put tens of thousands of people to work in the process.

Obama decries businesses making a profit. What does he think happens to businesses that DON'T make a profit? The go out of business and lay everyone off, that's what happens. They have no profits to reinvest to grow the company and add jobs.

Obama is too stupid to get it. He knows absolutely ZERO about the economy, and even less about business. He, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the gang think government handouts drive the economy. No wonder things haven't turned around. I wonder what Nancy Pelosi's husband would tell you about what make his vineyard in California stay afloat. How did he and Nancy become so wealthy? Not by running a business that's not making adequate profits. Collectively, these people are idiots.

How did Obama, a disciple of Saul Alinsky, a dude that never earned an honest penny, never served America, and instead, dedicated his life to spreading his hostility for America, become our president? I'm not sure, but I know the press, the media, and news outlets went all out to prop him up and assure voters that he'd be the greatest of presidents.

It is good to know that we live in a country where any young boy or girl who hates America can one day grow up and become President.

Pay no attention to the poisoned water, air and land, and the shrinking value of YOUR dollar, or "our" migration to Dubai, just buy our goods so "WE" can get richer and pay our workers less. Oh yes, we have to cut the troop's pay...."They make too damn much for what they do..." according to a (R) congressman.

You're right, congress passes bills, not the Pres. And THIS congress has done EVERYTHING they can to block anything Obama has tried to get passed , so America will crash and burn. THEN, the repub. and teabaggers can scream how Obama FAILED!!!

You do know that most of Obama's plans were bipartisan or Republican ideas. The funny thing is that the Republican party is too stupid to realize this and deny most of Obama's legislation, who has the egg on their face now?

Raise taxes on everyone and pay the debt off. It's a pretty easy concept that Republicans don't get. Lower taxes on everyone (less money coming in) and hope to god that the corporations create more jobs because they have more money (bush economics 101). Or raise taxes on everyone (more money coming in), pay off the debt and watch the economy start to climb (proven economics) because we would be out of this hole that we are in.

The problem is that lowering taxes is a great bumper sticker policy but it doesn't work.

The best part about this simple idea is that it is going to happen when the bush tax cuts expire.

It would be helpful to know the percentage of democrats/republicans in this poll. The last MessNBC poll was comprised of 22% republicans. Heavily weighted to favor Obama.

Nonetheless, at this point in 1980, Carter was way ahead of Reagan. We all know how that worked out.

Dems are filling their shorts over this. More and more, it looks like Obama will be one and done. It couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

Lies-The Iran Hostage crisis cost Carter reelection and the Reagan people were in secret negotiations with Iran to not release the hostages until after the election. This became the beginning of Irangate. A major embarrassment to the Reagan administration and actually treason. Reagan was questioned about these secret negotiations and stated that he did not know or could not remember. That was probably true but several people were indicted and some went to jail over Irangate. The myth of Reagan conveniently sweeps this under the rug-google Irangate and look for McFarland, Col. Ollie North ect.

It's obvious the Obama Campaign is panicking. You can see the desperation on Obama's face, on Axelrod's face. And did you see Jay Carney stumbling trying to answer questions about Obama's undying support for the Occupy crowd that stabbed a Chicago policeman? Implying that a cop being stabbed was just collateral damage while an angry, violent mob exercised their 1st Amendment rights? Just sickening.

The Obama camp is off balance, their footing slipping as they get ready for a fall. You can only sling BS to the American people for so long before they've had enough.....and they've had ENOUGH!

Do you think it is even slightly possible that an unregulated derivatives market had anything to do with the credit crisis that caused the economic collapse. A market that reached 680 trillion dollars in notational value in 2008 which is more than 10 times the gdp of every country on the planet. And why do you think that went unregulated. See the following link to an interview with Brooksley Born, chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission under Bill Clinton:
                              http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/warning/interviews/born.html
And many of you liberals keep on about the Bill Clinton budget surplus and what good shape we would be in if Bush had not squandered it. Check this out and tell me again how Bush squandered it:

What about what Barney Frank was doing with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. You got an opinion on this:

Do you think there could have been a conflict of interest with Herb Moses at Fannie Mae?

Do you think you can refute what this economist at San Jose State University has to say:

Whose best interest did Barney have in mind when he shot down Bush's efforts to regulate Fannie Mae:

There ya go. You have plenty to check out there. None and I do mean none of your liberal compatriots have had the balls to address those issues. How about you.

EVERY politician has their own best interest at heart, as do most humans.... that's life and survival 101. That is why we need congressional term limits, to get rid of the notion corporations are people, they are NOT. And have publicly funded campaigns.... why won't any conservatives talk about that???

Right now all Fox comments are shut down. Did you do that? lol So we are forced to come to other sites just to read some comments. MSNBC is better than CNN but i will be so happy when Fox is back online. A nice varied group of people. Even a lot of leftists come there to comment.

The last thing we need is to bring in another Bush clone to undo the gains we made since Bush jr. left, leaving the economy in the toilet.

Gains? Pretty funny. I guess you can look at anything and find something positive. But the truth in this case will drive the massess to add Obama to the unemployment line in November. You must have increases in your social payouts to see gains. The only gains are in the debt.

Pure and utter B.S. The 2000 and 2003 Bush tax cuts were done under republican Senate and House. Since they did not have a 60 seat majority the cuts were done under reconciliation and is why they were to expire in 2010. Democrats did not get a majority until midterm 2006. Funny thing also that Bush couldn't find the veto pen until the Dem's got a majority.

Gains? Everything Obama does is to bring America down and build up other countries, cultures and Islam. Do you know he is going to sign a treaty with the UN and the UN will have veto power over who drills in the Gulf. 50% of the oil profits will go to the UN to help underdeveloped countries. If you know anything about the UN then you know how crooked they are. They will keep most of the money and the leaders of said countries will take the rest. It won't benefit the country or the poor people. I believe it is called the HOLD Treaty. He also plans to sign the Small Arms Treaty to confiscate our weapons.

Im curious, quiestion to the right wingies, what exactly do you think the GOP will do good for this country? Double down on more tax breaks for the so called "job creators" paid for by you? Havent we seen over the last 30 years what that approach has produced? Does money and false ads on someone's record make your mind up? I have no problem with people having their opinion based on truths but if someone is voting according to what they hear from an opponent versus actual facts then thats plain stupid. Or is it more of a matter of an african american being president? Because if its about the presidents record then obama has a good record..or does that even matter? I sit here and look at these ads that the RNC and GOP superpacs run and they literally make up complete false facts about everything..so if a person takes those grossly false misleading untruthful ads to heart and are making their minds up based on those then they are being made complete fools out of and is exactly why the GOP love an uneducated populous. If one knew actual facts and were not biggoted then this president has done a good job under very difficult circumstances handed to him by bush. If a person thinks its easy to just turn around 30 years of GOP dismantling this country economically then maybe ot is time for america to finally go finish basic high school economics. This country will be in jeopardy of years of misery, lower wages and continue to get gouged out of every penny they have by big business and literlly go back to the dark ages if we decide to go back to trickle down economics and austerity. I really dont believe that its sinking into the heads of a lot of people because republicans can get away with spreading down right lies and misinformation about obama;s actual record in office and the GOP obstruction to everrything, even their own ideas in order to deny obama any forward progress, and obama still managed to make progress despite the GOP's best attemps to destroy him and hurting this country in the process..it says a lot about the common sense of the average person when they believe anything they hear comin out of the GOP JUST SO THEY CAN TRY TO TAKE BACK COMPLETE POWER AND CONTROL. Thats just depressing to the core.

I give up. You're correct. We should jack up the taxes so high on business we finally crush those that can't move out of the country and you'd have them all going to Ireland where taxes are 10%.

What part of 10% taxes over seas do you not get?

If Americans do not wake up and compete for jobs you'll have none.

Bob: To find lies all you have to do is compare what Obama said in 2008 and what he has done. He is a total failure because he (like you) is a socialist. He believes the government needs to take care of you and the big corporations and wealthy people should "share their wealth". Fair share? Half of the people pay no tax. Obama is against success and for big government and power. The conservatives are capitalists and know that the only way to get people working and prosperous again is to give the corporations tax breaks so they bring the work and profits back to the U.S. Major companies farm out their work to countries like Ireland because they have 1/3 the taxes. We are the highest tax rate in the world. Why does Obama bail out the banks, GM and other big companies? Why are the people that worked at the investment companies now part of his administration? Why did they get million dollar bonuses after we spent billions in tax payer money. Ask those questions of your great President. You need to read more and type less...

                                          Bob,

Name one thing good happening in the economy today.Four years of Obama has equaled disaster for our country. Our ratings have been lowered to AA from the AAA handed to this President. He said he would cut the deficit in 1/2 LIE, he said he would decrease the unemployment to below 7%...LIE...he said he would jump start the economy...LIE.....he said he would be transparent ..triple LIE!!!

Perhaps all the pot smoking and beer drinking in HS and college years has fried his brain. Maybe it's all the partying with the hollywierdo's that has warped his brain or perhaps it's just his over zealous ego of himself that has puffed him up. More likely it is his world view that America is bad and needs to be punished because of all the evil things we have done in the past, what ever it is, I would vote for Micky Mouse over this failure of a so called president.

hereare the problems. we had a president for 8 years that in the private sector ran 3 companies into bankrupcy he did the same to this country. If you look at GW's budgets he never added the costs of his 2 wars to them those were always seperate expences voted on several weeks after the regular budget.

2.the average wages haven't increased in 30 years, why? two main reasons. the tax structure was higher and allowed deductions for investing into the companies which included wages, healthcare and pensions. when the tax cuts were implemented it became cheaper not to use them. the other reason was tarrifs were historically kept over 20% to protect jobs in the U.S. from lower wages in other countries. the average wage in the third world in about $2,500 a year and taxes are usually low. In 82 tarrifs paid about 30% of the federal budget now it's less that 1.5% restore tarrifs and jobs will be returned the budget will get paid off and if the taxs were restored wages will go up.

30 years ago 65% of the population were middle class now it is about 44% the country cannot survive that low a percentage.

companies don't create jobs consumers do. a company won't hire anyone unless the demand is already there.

Then how come Ford was able to do the same thing without Gov aid......oh and they did not make a stupid hybrid car that no one wants like GM did...try this on for size...the chevy volt costs the tax payers 250 grand each to make and they can't give the dam thing away!

That is very true. Ford used the funding to develop the EcoBoost engine that increased the gas mileage (and the sales!) on the F150 line of trucks.

Anyone who thinks Romney can win in Michigan and Ohio after saying "let Detroit go bankrupt" is seriously deluded.

TN.....psssst they did go bankrupt. The only difference is in HOW they went backrupt. And to be honest we still could go bankrupt. OoOoops that would mean I work for an Auto company! And the other Obama treasure is the Chevy Volt, we have 6 of them sitting outside my office (pool for test driving) and thats where they sit all day. No one wants to drive them, and very few people are buying them. Mr. Obama just wanted them.

So you think Mitt's plan would have been better? It would have led to a painful, drawn-out bankrupotcy for GM and Chrysler. Assuming they both would have survived, several of the smaller companies in the supply chain would not have. Some of those companies also supply Ford and other atomakers, so that hat would have led to a huge disruption in parts and production and the American auto industry may have never been the same.

What about the impact on the millions of workers, at both GM/Chrysler and those companies in the supply chain? Massive unemployment and lost pensions would have led to a huge drain on the "safety net" and increased the deficit tremendously.

You point out the Chevy Volt, one tiny piece of an otherwise succesful story.

What about the millions of vehicles Ford, Chrysler and GM have built and sold since the bailout?

What about the EcoBoost engine developed with bailout funds that is driving the robust sales of the F150 for Ford?

What about the "above ad beyond" jobs added via additional shifts at auto manufacturing plants across the country?

And how much did it cost the tax payers to make that car that no one wants except Obama...in fact I heard THEY CAN'T EVEN GIVE IT AWAY! Maybe you can send them all to the White house and let Obama try and sell them... seems he is good at fundraising. I only wish he was as good at job creation.

Seriously, you need some new material, Beanne!Even us libs gave in and said Romney being a bully in high school has no bearings on his being president... but smoke a little pot and YOU are evil.... being a bully is much worse that what Obama did in high school, which is what most people do... experiment.

TNSEVOL, What would have happened without Obama's intervention in the auto industry. GM and Chrysler would have declared bankruptcy like many other companies. They would have gone to court and restructured their debts. the vendors would probably have received at least 80 cents on the dollar. The bondholders would not have lost their interest by 100%. They would have kept at least 80% equity. The union and the feds would not have received partial control. Fiat would have still purchased Chrysler. One major negative we would have avoided is Obama would not have had the manufacturers close thousands of dealerships which could have stayed in business, while in the process laying off tens of thousands of people.

The new president is coming in November of 2012. The current president doesn't have a chance. The news media lies that Kenya Boy Obama is in the lead. Lets start with the Catholic Church's, Catholic people, That Kenya Boy Obama lost there votes, Lets talk about the NRA, Hunters, Fisherman of Americ. Kenya Boy Obama lost those votes. Now lets talk about the Conservative people of poor class medium class aand the very rich people, The Kenya Boy Obama lost those votes. Now lets talk about the blacks that can't read or write they don't know how to vote. Now the foreigners without citizenship, Green cards are give the right to vote by a dictator. This is the only way this Kenya Boy Obama can steal votes. Now you tell me that the news media has a lot of "BULL ______. Most of all the NEWS MEDIA gets a kick back from the Kenya Boy Obama administration to keep the public in the dark. The news media will tell the public what they should hear only. So my take on this is the News media is on the left siding with the Socialist Dictator of a president.

The media has his back and is complicit in keeping much of what we don't know out of the public eye. If only you lib fools would look at his record of just the past 3 years you'd have to agree he is in way over his head and has nothing to show for the promises he made of things he was going to accomplish when elected. When he went to Pakistan and Indonesia in 1981 what did he put for his citizenship? Bet you anything he went as an Indonesian. Why did he allow people to believe he was born in Kenya? He either lied then or now. Why did he get a grant to go to school as an Indonesian citizen? He either lied then or now. Why have we never heard anything from people he went to school with, taught, dated? When he is no longer president, the media will be trampling over each other to tell the truth about the imposter in chief. You will then know how you were scammed. He is anti-American, pro-Islam, anti-DChristian, liar, thief and murderer.

If the margin of error and the other 8% are considered, Obama could be behind by as much as 10% in these states. Of course MSNBC will not publish anything that may show Obama having trouble. Get your news from the Inquirer, it is more reliable.

NBC and Comcast hope that if they play the Obama game by saying he is leading in the polls that he will exclude them when he punishes and dismantles U.S. companies after he is reelected. It is the same thing the Jews thought after they were unloaded off the train in Auschwitz that they had been spared. Look where that got them. Wake up America!

I'm retired 7 years and have listen to what the GOP, their candidates and supporters have and still say. There is an element of the party who are racists because of the statements they have made. I have also got the time to fact check what they are saying about Obama and it seems they are 99% fabrication because they are completely ignore the facts and what economic experts are saying. Any American who would vote for any Republican are on the same agenda as their corporate puppets and not what is best for our country or the American people. How can anyone think that a Republican can do better for America when all their agenda is more of the same, give more subsides to their corpporate bosses, cut taxes for their wealthy cronies while cutting programs or dismantling them to pay for their tax cuts and subsides for the corporate masters, deregulate the financial institutions, (don't forget those same financial institutions brought us to our knees because of deregulation by Bush). The cuts the Romney and Ryan propose will dismantle programs for womens health, families health care, disabled Americans, disabled vets and vets, education, subsides for poor Americans, seniors, etc. but they won't even consider raising taxes for the wealthy friends and corporate bosses to the level of the working class. I could go on but I have come to know that the facts don't matter to the right wing because they have supporters who are so gullible they will believe anything because they know if they repeat their lies often enough, they and their supports will think it's true. Don't forget Romney is stating that his experience with Bain Capitol will make him a better president but what he's not telling America is that Bain Capitol's agenda is to make money for themselves and their investors by buying a company or business, taking millions out while running up debt in that company, filing bankruptcy and putting thousands of American workers on the street without retirement. The government has had to millions to cover Bains raider on workers retirement plans. This is just a smidgen of the facts and feel free to research for facts but I know that will never happen because even when the repubs are confronted with the facts, they will totally ignore them or just say Obama has failed but if we are all honest and consider the mess he inherited from the lying Bush/Cheney dictatorship, he has done pretty well even though he has been dealing with the party of NO who don't care about our country because as Republican Governor Walker stated their agenda is to divide the working class and conquer, only the GOP is using race, sexual orientation, religions, economic standards, etc. Facts are facts so ignore them if you want to sell our country and our democracy to the highest bidder and help them to create another 3rd world country.

They ran on "jobs, jobs, jobs", but once in office, their focus, their priority became "making Obama a one term president" and attacking women's healthcare. They obstructed every move this president attempted to improve this economy, all in the name of playing politics. They have done everything possible to make certain this economy would stay in the toilet. One only need look at the work of THIS party the last two years to understand their agenda....they certainly didn't focus on jobs, record foreclosures, homeless families.

The Paul Ryan Budget will abolish Medicare, handing those 55 years and younger a voucher to go shopping on the open market for health insurance. The CBO estimates the cost to seniors roughly $8000 a year, rising each and every year. Medicaid would also be abolished. And Social Security, America's most successful program would be privatized, handing senior's benefits over to Wall Street to play with.

All this to pass the savings on to the very wealthiest in this nation, at the expense of low and middle class Americans survival.

THIS Republican party will take this country back to the days when elderly Americans lived and died in poverty, and lacked affordable healthcare.

It has always fasinated me to see how easily ignorant Americans can be convinced to cut their own throats....THIS Republican Party is counting on that ignorance !

If the Romney/Ryan plan is so great why won't any of them say which loop holes they will close? Why is it that the plan cannot be scored by the CBO? because of the fuzzy math and gimmicks there just to pander for votes? The truth is between the Bush tax cuts that Romney/Ryan want to make permanent and the new tax cuts for the rich Romney's plan will explode the deficit while President Obama's balanced plan will reduce the deficit.

Something I have been wondering about is when the Republicans had control of everything beginning in 2000 why did they not continue to pay the debt down instead of cutting taxes to below the level of revenue coming in? If they are so good with finances why did they cut taxes lower than revenues comming in? Then after starting two wars and against the advise of economists continue not only to borrow money to support the tax cuts but borrow money to fight the wars and run the country.

And now that we see things starting to turn around for the better why on earth would we want to go back to exactly what got us in this mess to begin with.

YES we would like the country to be back where it was. Lets' see unemployment below 7.5%, the country had a AAA credit rating, the market was making money everyday, gas prices were $1.71, there were no riots in the street, there was no class warfare, there was no war on Relgion or our Freedoms, The First lady did not spend thousands of our tax dollars on extravagant vacations, our friends in the world were not our enemies and our enemies knew we ment business, Afghanistan was not a festering wound and our Military actually respected their commander in chief, my grocery bill was 1/2 of what it is today even though my 2 boys have moved out and joined the military since that time, my health insurance was $200 cheaper a month, houses did not sit on the market for an entire year, my house was worth $40 grand more then it is today, there was not an air of fear in the country as there is today and our President respected the office of the presidency and did not demean it by going on late night commedy trying to be a superstar and our President did not blame everything under the sun including the former president for everything that went wrong on his watch....In other words he was not a crybaby! Oh and marriage was a sacred thing between and man and a woman, we did not murder babies that could sustain life on their own nor did we play god with science, businessmen who became wealthy from good ol fashioned hard work and risk taking were not considered evil and we did not have a President with an ego /head as big as the earth. Humility goes a loooooong way where as Pride goeth before the fall!

So say goodbye to President crybaby..........

Where do you type of people come from. So much misinformation in your post it is sad. Here is your history lesson, even though it is going to go through one ear and out the other.

Current un-employment rate is 8%. .5% off of your highest goal.

The S&P rating had a lot to do with the House. There was a plan in place six months before the expiration of the budget and was agreed upon by all parties. The House (JOHN BOEHNER changed his mind). It was both parties screw up but a lot had to do with the House.

The market you remember was not the true market due to the housing bubble. It's called inflation, look it up.

Gas has gone up because of the failing dollar and international market demand. In example, countries like India put down the bicycles and want to drive cars instead. This might come as a surprise to you but the POTUS does not control gas prices. Oil is an openly traded commodity, being that your Republican you should know all about the free market system.

Occupy Wall Street was hardly a riot. The LA riots when Bush 1 was in office was a riot. Over exaggeration.

There is no war on religion. Unfortunately, despite what our founding fathers believed in, we live in a country where religion and politics are as one. You can thank the Republican, neo right wing, jesus freaks for that. It's called separation of church and state and all legislation should be religion free. Unfortunately, it is not.

Class war fare has been going on longer then you can imagine. It was escalated when Bush 2 was in office with his tax cuts for the wealthy. You just see it from a Republican point of view.

Groceries have gone up because of the failing dollar and will continue to go up, that's reality in a down economy.

Health insurance is the biggest joke in this country. I won't even go there.

You can thank the creators of the Gramm Leach Bliley Act for your house losing money and other houses sitting on the market. Now this act was signed into office by Clinton, however Phil Gramm, Jim Leach, Thomas Bliley Jr. are all Republican law makers and are responsible for the housing collapse.

The war on your freedoms came from George W. Bush himself with the creation of the Patriot Act.

People go on vacations all the time. Bush spent more time on his ranch in Texas and was away from the oval office more then any other president in office.

I am not sure of who our enemies are when you are talking about countries. Our number 1 enemy currently is Al Queda and the rest of the terrorist groups.

Our current president inherited a mess when he was elected. The economy didn't stop its down fall for months after he took office. There is no one in the entire world that could have stopped what had happened in months. The biggest fallacy is that Obama has some how hurt the economy. Unemployment continues to decrease and he is the least expensive president in a long long time. That is even with his stimulus bill that was too small in the first place. You also have a "do nothing" congress and of course there is the tea party.

Who cares if the President goes on late night talk shows. It is another way of social media. It is one of the cheapest ways to get his message out. Are you going to get mad at him for having a Facebook? God forbid he has a Twitter and a Website. We live in the 21st century where social media is a big part of what we do now.

What the hell has anyone that is Gay done to you? Who cares if they get married, it is not hurting you. You just don't agree with it although until very recently the definition of marriage has changed to a man and a women. Through out the history of marriage many men have had more then one women as a wife. Hell the LDS church believed in polygamy until it became a law that polygamy was outlawed. Romney ring a bell. Anyone living in this country and is a US Citizen has the same rights as everyone else no matter what race, gender, or sexual preference is. That is how it should be but it is not.

Abortion should be a women's choice. Religion should not dictate if women should be allowed or shouldn't' be allowed to do what they want with their bodies. Being that you are probably a religious person let GOD decide what to do with those women, not you, not some law, and not some religion.

No one is condemning hard working Americans for making money. The problem is you have huge corporations that control the business sector. They also influence things they believe in that you may not by dumping massive amounts of money into campaigns. That is a problem on both parties.

It is true, pride goes before the fall but also keep in mind Greed. It is one of the seven deadly sins.

The news doesn't control elections like it used to. Obama has left to many people without any hope other than seeing him go. I wish he would go to Greece where they'd be happy to have him. They're all looking for a handout.
