WASHINGTON -- Florida Sen. Marco Rubio on Wednesday asserted that none of the major issues facing the United States have been solved during Barack Obama's presidency.
"This nation and this political process has not solved one single major issue in the last three and a half to four years. In fact, it’s been incapable of even passing a budget," said Rubio in a speech here to the Latino Coalition Economic Summit. "The single largest organization in the world -- a $3.8 trillion endeavor called the United States government -- has not had a budget in almost four years."
The potential vice presidential pick has gone on the attack against the president recently. During a high-profile GOP fundraiser in South Carolina over the weekend, he called Obama the most divisive figure in modern American politics. Though today he did not use the president's name, he delivered a toned-down version of that same message in front of a bloc of voters, Latinos, that will be key in the November election.
But Rubio's harshest rhetoric was aimed at the body he is a member of, the Senate. He even acknowledged that, despite taking office with high hopes, nothing has changed since he entered the high chamber.
“I ran because I was frustrated by the political process. Nothing has happened over the last year and a half to change that frustration, unfortunately," he said. "Too often times, in the United States Senate especially, most of the votes we take are nothing but messaging points. Bills are brought to the floor by people and they’re not going pass...The only thing that’s being done in the Senate these days is creating material for television commercials in the fall. And it's sad."
Earlier in the afternoon it was presumptive nominee Mitt Romney who addressed the group, delivering a speech promoting education reform.
Rubio applauded the former Massachusetts governor's plans for reform, saying: "There will be no new jobs in the 21st century for people who do not have advanced education of some form. We have to provide access to that as well as affordability. And I'm glad that the nominee of my party has taken the lead in that regard."
It is of little surprise why Republican politicians are paying such close attention to Hispanic voters in 2012. A new national NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Telemundo poll showed Obama with a 34-point lead over Romney among Latino voters.
It is a big reason why the junior senator from Florida has generated so much buzz about joining the presidential ticket. But a Quinnipiac poll released today shows that Rubio adds only two points to Romney's showing in the Sunshine State.
Though Rubio did open his speech in Spanish, little else was specifically tailored for the Latino audience. Much of his speech was focused on the broken ways of Washington and examples of what he believes are missed opportunities for job creation -- like building the Keystone Pipeline.
'These are the kinds of things that historians write about 100 years from now when they discuss the decline of a civilization of a nation -- ridiculous decisions that were made because of politics, not because of policy," he said.

It is so sad that the liberals can not see that the democrate control senate has not created a single draft of legislation on the budget in four years. The libs don't complaint about the demo's responsibilities. Unfortunately even Buckwheat budget proposal was defeated by the demo control senate 99-0. During Obama administration over 4.2 million jobs created, unemployment going down, and Obama was worried about Bin Laden, unlike THE BUSH! Romney said that it was not worth all the money it would take to find one man (BinLade). Just wasn't important to the nut job Repubs. Another thing, under Bush we lost millions of jobs... jobs that were sent overseas. That will continue if Rompey is elected... but, we don't have to worry about that, do we?
Why is then Republicans try to pass laws so that latino citizens are considered illegals until proven otherwise? Why is it that Republicans are passing "defense of marraige" laws all over the place? Why is it that it was the Republicans that held up extending unemployment insurance until they got the Bush tax cuts extended for the rich. Offhand, I would say it is the Republicans that are dividing up the country.
Obamacare divided the country and you will lose that soon enough. Latino CITIZENS have NOTHING to fear. Latino ILLEGALS do, like all on the laft they have their hands out, what can I get, give me give me. I have 20 illegal kids, help it's not my fault, give me give me. Have some pride in yourself's and WORK!

Marco Rubio is a Culicagado who cant even wipe his own arse by himself. He spend some time in the Florida State Legislature and now he is in his first year as a federal senator. He does not know anything about anything. He is the Republican Party's So Flo token Latin, thats all. Imagine if he had to be preseident because Romney's car elevator fell on his head. As noted earlier, Republicans have been selectively marginalizing different groups (e.g. public workers, unions, gay/les, latinos) Republicans have been indulging in class warfare for years. One issue President Obama should handle is how a Senator whose family [illegally] took years and years of free benefits ie Medicare and food benefits as EXHILES when they were just plain immigrants and took benefits that they may not have been qualified .Some authority should check Rubios own personnal uses of educational funds. If he is paying back school loans [as he claims] why was he and his family using all the freebees illegally. Plenty more questionable activities in his life stlye may be forthcoming as he tries to climb the ladder of higher politics outside of Miami local coverups.
The Dream Act is a reward for those who broke the law, I want the U.S. government to pay me back $20,000 for doing it the right way immigrating my ex-wife here. We did it legally. Lets just let the murderers, the bank robbers, child molesters and the rapists also. What does the word law mean. Apparently nothing these days, as we all can see. The majority of Politicans are worried about getting rich and putting their family and buddies on the governemnt tit.

The downfall of the godly utopia began when Eve encountered a Progressive Snake in the grass. (It should have been hanging from a tree.)These creatures are to be avoided at all cost. Rubio better worry about the promises he made and hasn't kept. Such as: "Rubio promises House will look for bipartisan solutions"
He talked about making bipartisan agreements and promised he would find ways to get things done, he will find a way to work with this president and Democrats now, and help end the bickering that leads to getting nothing done but playing the blame game. Had he told us he was gonna just walk the party line and his #1 goal was to make Obama a 1 term president instead of making jobs for our citizens, he would not have got this independents vote. I will not vote for him again or any teabaggers! We need jobs and plans now, not after the next election
1. Economy is getting better, which was driven off the cliff under the shrub. The top 1% are doing quite well at the moment, and since that's the only part of the population you care about, why are you bitching?
2. If you think any president, whether democrat, republican, or teabagger is ever going to stand up and say, the war on terrorism is over and by golly we one... Then I have a really nice bridge at a great price for you. Also, bin Laden is dead. The shrub and darth cheney with all their money and war mongering couldn't even manage to do that; but I can imagine that invading the wrong country could hamper that operation.
3. Check your republican heros and tell me which one's didn't have deficits spending. Also which ones reduced deficit spending while overseeing a super recession. I'm on 42, so there may be a few before my time, but since my birth I'm not aware of any.
4. while it does need to be curbed more, I believe he has eliminated some government jobs; but also remember that the shrub created an entire new department (homeland security). Republicans are big on no government, but I really don't remember any clamoring about it then. Just like the debt ceiling... bitch about it now, but was it was ok all those years that republicans did it.
5. Republicans only want to make sure that the top 1% pay no taxes and have access to cheapest labor in the world.
6. Republicans scream about "stay out of my wallet", yet want to sit as a sentinel in everyone's bedroom telling them what they are and are not allowed to do.

If you listen closely, you hear them all use the SAME lines...over and over. They repeat this on FOX acters station and radio. And people who have not been on the suffering end of these policies...are completely insensitive to the needs of people TRYING to work and hold their heads ABOVE water.
Most blue collar workers and middle class people do not ask for hand-outs. BUT, they do DESERVE a fighting chance to make a living wage to feed, house, insure AND pay taxes for such needed programs like social security and medicare. AND, many many people are not cut out for college, and anymore, cannot BEGIN to afford college. College should not be a ticket to "get rich at the expense of everyone else" thing.

I don't like either party but I am really sick of reading posts by ignorant Republicans that give Republicans a bad name. All democrats are not as some of the idiots perceive in their posts. There are bad extremes in both parties, the far right and the far left and most people in both parties have to put up with them. I believe most Americans are in the middle and we have alot of patriotic Americans in both parties. I also feel that the extremes of both parties are the ones dividing this country because they want everything exactly their way and it will never happen. There are both hard working Dems and Repub out here that are unemployed and alot of them have had to use the safety net recently for the first time because of all the partisan nonsense going on. Both of these parties need to set their main goal to making jobs out here and need to compromise to do it. So if one of them says their main goal is to make someone a 1 termer then get rid of them because their priorities are messed up and we need things to happen yesterday not after the next election. There are good Americans out here that need help now and alot of them are not exactly like me and I don't agree with them and they are different in their race, religion, beliefs, and etc. but I respect them and allow them their freedoms that are the backbone of this country. Sorry please stop posting irrelevant name calling generalized b.s. that serves to other purpose except to insult people.
