*** UPDATED AT 2 PM ET WITH POWELL'S INTERVIEW WITH NBC'S ANDREA MITCHELL ***
One of the GOP's foreign-policy heavyweights, Colin Powell, took Mitt Romney to task for calling Russia the United States' "No. 1 geopolitical foe."
“Come on, Mitt, think. That isn’t the case," Powell, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on MSNBC's Morning Joe this morning.
Powell added, "He’s been catching a lot of heck from the more regular GOP foreign affairs community. We’re kind of taken aback by it. How can you--? Come on. Look at the world. There is no pure competitor to the United States of America.”
He also called some of Romney’s advisers “quite far to the right.”
Though he was tasked with making the case for war in Iraq before the United Nations, it's no secret that Powell, who was George W. Bush's secretary of state, is no fan of the Cheney-Rumsfeld neo-conservative foreign-policy wing of the Republican Party.
Powell, who is doing media interviews promoting his book, endorsed President Obama in 2008. While he has declined to say who he would vote for this time around, he gave a large measure of credit to President Obama yesterday on the Today show on domestic policy, crediting him with pulling the country back from the financial brink and rescuing the auto industry.
His only gripe with Obama was from the left -- that he failed to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay.
*** UPDATE *** On MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports this afternoon, Powell warned Romney against hyperbole on foreign policy, from Russia to Iran.
“I think he needs to not just accept these cataclysmic pronouncements,” Powell said. “He needs to really think carefully about these [statements].”
Powell said Russia had the GDP of a mid-size European country and noted that Russia and China “need to have a good relationship with us.”
He added, “Let’s not go creating enemies where none need exist… let’s not hyperbolize the situation.”
Powell also advocated talking to Iran, played down the notion that Iran was close to developing a nuclear weapon, and suggested it was possible to allow Iran to produce nuclear power and stop them from going further to create a weapon.
“I don’t know what Mr. Romney would prefer to do” as it relates to Iran, Powell said, noting that there weren’t many alternatives to talking to them. Powell warned that there couldn’t be “lofty expectations” in talks with Iran and that it couldn’t be trusted, but stressed, “They’re totally isolated.”
Though he has largely said positive things about Obama on his book tour, Powell, who now makes money in private equity, defended the industry.
There’s “nothing evil about private equity,” he said. “They miss a lot of their bets. Sometimes they kill of companies that need to be killed off.”

I know I won't be the only one LMAO when General Powell comes out again & endorses President Obama!
The man is no fool and realizes the Republican party left him years ago...
Although an endangered species, there are still a few sane members left in the GNOP, General Powell is one of them!
Like I said earlier, you can lead these loons to knowledge BUT you can't make them THINK!
good morning Feisty.
come on mitt, Mitt want to be another "war time president" like his hero bush.
I'm pretty sure Willard has thought all he can and still comes out with dumb stuff to say and do.
Let's just be honest. If Mitt were to become President we would have boots on the ground in Syria within 12 months because he will do whatever McCain and Cheney tell him. Just what we need - another war to pay for and a place to have more of our great men and women die.
The problem is, Mitt is thinking. The fact that he is unable to make any sense is why people like Powell don't believe he is actually thinking things through.
Russia is our #1 geopolitical foe? Maybe that was the case a few decades ago but no longer It's no wonder that this thought process comes from the mind of someone still trying to bring us back to the 1950's.
Feisty Redhead Roselle, IL
Like I said earlier, you can lead these loons to knowledge BUT you can't make them THINK!
There are only two kinds of people that you can dumb down—the dumb and the willing, and Powell seems to have no intentions of being either
GF,
As I've said before I watch 1 hour and 15 nauseating minutes of watching FOX NOISE; 15 min in the AM of 1 dumb blond juxtaposed between to 2 male dunces and 1 hour of slant head, low IQ Sean Kinney .
Colin Powell is simply too smart for the Tea Party to be led him down the yellow brick road the yellow belly Republicans and Teabaggers want.
I laughed so hard last night watching that quimsal look on KKKlanity's face when Gen Colin Powell would not buy KKKlanity's bull sh!t. Even more amusing he had no idea what the general was saying!!
and that's the GNOP goal - back to the '50s....(not sure if it is the 1950's or 1850's) - but either way it is backwards progress...not forward...
edit;spell check picked up wrong words
Should be slant head, low IQ Sean Hannity not slant head, low IQ Sean Kinney
Should be quimsical look on KKKlanity's fac
I wonder what Powell thinks of a President that disregards all military advise and announces a "we quit" date in a war he stated had to be won ... that blew the Iraq draw down ....an administration whose VP doesn't even know who the enemy in America's longest war is ....
What does Powell think about handing the keys to America's missile defense to Putin .... about Obama getting punked by Iran .... about Obama's unilateral disarmament as everybody is building up?
Actually ... I don't wonder ... who cares about Powell.
The only thinking Romney does is contemplating where to place elevator numbers 3, 4, and 5.
Colin a GOP heavyweight? Ya'see Domenico, ol'Colin voted for his buddy Barry last time around, and will do so the same this time around too. That makes him not a GOP heavyweight, but in fact, a Democrat.
Think Domenico, think!
I wonder what Powell thinks of a presidential candidate who believes our biggest enemy is the non-existent Soviet Union.
If you believe Romney you are a fool. If he does win the election it will be the ultimate triumph of money over values. An empty suit that will do whatever those old white billionaires who are financing his campaign dictate. There are plenty of other uberwealthy, happy enough to go along for the ride, but they are fools too. They have no more idea what madness Romney has in store for the country than the masses being whipped into an anti Obama frenzy by the carpet bombing campaigns that are just starting. There may be high elders in the Mormons who know what he plans, but that is far from certain. He lists a book by Scientology founder Hubbard as one of his favorites. Talk about taking risks! There is no other candidate in the history of this nation that presents a greater danger. And I am an independent who voted for George Bush twice.
If a Republican votes for a democratic presidential candidate, it tells you one thing, and one thing only. The GOP/TP candidate really sucks.
How far to the extreme right has the Republican Party gone, that Generals are referred to as RINOs.
If Russia isn't our biggest Geopolitical foe, who is? I think the people of the country of Georgia would agree with Romney. A geopolitical foe is not necessarily an enemy Red. It is quite apparent you have no idea what geopolitical means.
I dunno ... why don't you ask Obama's buddy the "president" of Canada ... he speaks "Austrian."
I just heard Powell was on Fox this morning and was very much like in the middle ground. I know that he is also promoting a very good book. Hey I would vote for him anytime for Pres or VP. He will do a much better job than Mr. Obama (President) and that loose cannon Biden.
Amy, That would be General RINO. (Thank you for your Service)
Come on my Lib friends, I thought you were all against this Book Promotion stuff?
Why is it OK for General RINO Powell (Thank you for your Service) to do it, but nobody else?
That's really rich, Rocco. You want to school Colin Powell on the meaning of "geopolitical."
That's a show I'd love to see. Pass the popcorn.
How do you know he disregards all advice?
...and isn't it the President who is Commander-In-Chief? Isn't he "The Decider", as President Whats-His-Face once said? Don't the generals take orders from him and not the other way around?
Okay, so Romney doesn't know Russia - at least he's on top of things when it comes to our relations with China, right? Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that he said:
"Now just in the last day or two we've heard some disturbing things from across world which suggest potentially if the reports are true some troubling developments there where an individual, Mr. Chen,
has sought freedom in an embassy of the United States of America. Aren't we proud of the fact that people seeking freedom come to our embassy to find it?" Romney asked.
"If these reports are true, this is a dark day for freedom," Romney said. "And it's a day of shame for the Obama administration."
Oops! Fast-forward to this past weekend when Chen and his family arrived safely in New York. In a classic Romney reversal, he quietly issued this brief statement:
"I am heartened and relieved that Chen Guangcheng and his family are on their way to the United States and out of China. I commend the U.S. diplomats and officials who worked to ensure that the Chinese government followed through on its commitments. This episode underscores the need for the United States to forthrightly stand up for the human rights of the Chinese people.”
I'm sure he actually meant to mention President Obama and Secretary Clinton by name but just forgot, right? And I'm positive he meant to add "And I sincerely apologize to the Obama administration for attempting to undermine their efforts in this situation just for the sake of petty partisan politics. I should never have made a statement about something I obviously knew nothing at all whatsoever about."
I guess it just got cut off at the bottom of the page.......

Da Noid , please don't say words like the DECIDER while I'm here. I just had lunch and could become ill from the memories!

Colin a GOP heavyweight? Ya'see Domenico, ol'Colin voted for his buddy Barry last time around, and will do so the same this time around too. That makes him not a GOP heavyweight, but in fact, a Democrat.
Think Domenico, think!
No Joanna Colin Powell is a military man, and when some goof like says stupid thing that may undermined what we have accomplished in the last 3 years in foreign policy, i know he wanted to tell him to shut the FU&K up!!!!!!mitt!!!! you don't know what your talking about. he has never made a foreign policy decision except for killing jobs here and moving them over seas!!!!
I watched the Powell interview on Fox with Hannity yesterday - I know I know, I found it by flipping the channels. I have to admit that I respect Powell. We may not share the same ideas on things but I think he is a good man.
bayllie - I had the absolute pleasure of hearing Colin Powell speak about 4 years after he left the Bush Administration. Although I don't always agree with him, I have the utmost respect for this man. He is a true leader and the US is lucky to claim him as one of our own.
Jeff - JAS doesn't like men with brains which explains her inordinate hate of Obama and Powell. My guess is she has never been able to attract a man who is intelligent and this is her way of deflecting from that!
*waves to Chris*
Sorry for not replying sooner - not sure how I missed it! lol
Bravo Seeking!
When it comes to social issues, the rightwing wants to take us back to the Dark Ages. When it comes to economic issues, the rightwing wants to take us back to the Gilded Age at the turn of the 20th century. The only positive thing to be said about foreign policy, is the rightwing only wants to take us back to the neocon Bush Doctrine of Romney' "predecessor." The bottom line is, the rightwing wants to take the country back...ward!
Let's go FORWARD -- Obama/Biden -2012!
nomoresameo, and others ... Remember the "Curious George" jokes about Dubya? Romney isn't interested. He's been running for office on a perpetual basis, and has the wealth not to work, and yet, what has he done to prepare for his second presidential run? He's like Sarah Palin in this regard, refusing to invest himself in study. He could have been using time to learn public policy, foreign policy, history, etc., but he has not. He truly believes he'll just "hire" experts to do the work for him -- he's even said so.
This is one reason the president is correct in pointing out Romney's "experience" and how does this make Romney qualified to be president? As well as character -- values/ethics/temperament, etc. Romney is only where he is now due to lack of a qualified field and outright default.
Romney embodies all that we as a nation need to question now, from what capitalism is and should be, to greed and corruption due to money in politics and the revolving door, to real "exceptionalism" and ensuring that the cream rises to the top, not turds that just won't flush. (Sorry about that mixed visual, hurp.)
Let's face it. Obama is just out to undercut Romney at every step:
Gas prices not going up anymore.
Chinese disident getting to come to America.
European nations going along with Obama's suggestions.
Domestic affairs, national affairs, economic affairs. Obama just isn't being fair to Romney with all his successes.
TO: bob-1805084 who wrote:
You can't say President Obama "disregarded all military advice" because that would be impossible for you to know, because you're NOT privy to our military secrets, and I DON'T believe President Obama "disregarded" anything.
In spite of all those phoney accusations, it was STILL President Obama who got Osama Bin Laden, cause Democrats don't let the bad guys get away.
As long as Republicans were in charge, Osama Bin Laden was safe, and Republicans made ALL of Bin Laden's terrorist dreams come true, including crashing the entire United States Economy.
Obama/Biden 2012
Thank you General Powell for putting this lightweight in his place!!!! We don't want another W. Bush giving the U.S. a bad name across the world...
The NBC special Brian Williams did on bin Laden with photos taken during the mission and interviews with various staff involved, etc. was very enlightening. If one tries to imagine Romney as Commander in Chief in that same situation -- For example I suspect Romney would have ousted the military commander from the head seat at the conference table instead of getting a folding chair the way the president did. But that "3AM call" test (or Cuban Missile Crisis during the Cold War?) alone makes one know in their heart to reelect President Obama as superior to Romney hands down.
bob-1805084
I wonder what Powell thinks about being "gank'd" by Bush/Cheney/Rummy in front of the United Nations?
I wonder what Powell thinks about everyone being "punk'd" and over 4,000 American Service Members dying in GW's personal vendetta?
I wonder how Powells book will contrast with Dubyas book.......Truth and thoughtfulness from Powell versus lies and fantasy from Dubya!
NoLimitSoldier50 - no, like most books by high profile people, they are ghost written. However, the thoughts and sentiments put forward in the books are a direct reflection of the person who is attributed to do the writing. However, Powell might actually write his own book. He's smart enough and could easily do it.
What't that? You agree that Powell = truth and Dubya = Lies and each will sign off on their respective books written by whomever?.....Wow!
TO: NoLimitSoldier50 who wrote:
Bush wrote his book and we know that because Bush complained that his crayons kept breaking.
Obama/Biden 2012
Someone said the other day, looking to Dubya on economic advice is comparable to buying Jeffrey Dahmner's cook book on "Lean Cuisine"! ☺
Dubya on economic policies? NOT...Dubya on foreign policies? Absolutely NOT
...Willard needs help, but from wince it comes, who knows...Jeffrey Dahmner 'people who eat people'..OMG!
Colin Powell will endorse President Obama again! He knows President Obama is the best leader in the world! Thank you Mr. Powell for being a voice of reason!
President Obama 2012!
NoLimit - the only place you place "no limits" is on your obvious racism. Powell served under Bush so did you complain then? He has endorsed the best person for the job. Too bad you decide to make it about race. You're a total moron!
NoLimit - you should possibly re-read what you posted so you can understand my response!
ABSOLUTELY no sanity in the GOP!
TO: NoLimitSoldier50 who wrote:
Colin Powell has been a life long Republican, and so have most of my family. I think Colin Powell was extremely pissed when George W. Bush lied to him too about Iraq's WMD's and Bush USED Colin Powell to put forth a bogus lying message in front of the United Nations.
I also believe that Colin Powell endorsed President Obama because he believed that President Obama was the best choice for President, and Colin Powell knew John McCain very well and chose not to endorse McCain.
We were forced to leave the Republican Party behind when the GOP became too overtly corrupt.
Obama/Biden 2012
American Girl
Welcome to the Ex-Republican Party which I was forced to join because of the last disaster of an Administration that will be nameless.
The Ex-Republican Party is growing faster than Romney can lie.
The democratic party is just as corrupt and worthless as the republican but instead is willing to part with more trinkets to appease the mob. The sooner people realize this the sooner this country can actually progress to something other than being a culture of corporatism and financial exploitation. The bi-system is no different than asking the victim of an anal cavity probe wether they want it done with the left handed guard or the right-handed one: the left handed one uses a lubricant while the right hand one doesn't. Either way you are getting f<*$ed!
A [political order] continually strives to do great things to keep [its] subjects’ minds uncertain and astonished, and occupied in watching their result. And these actions arise one out of the other, so that they have left no time for men to settle down and act against [it.]

All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred, and schizophrenia...
Political language — and with variations this is true of all political parties, from Conservatives to Anarchists — is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.
George Orwell. Politics and The English Language (1946.)
Mitt Romney isn't paid to think: he was nominated by the Norquist crowd to pick up a pen and cut taxes.
Grover doesn't want a president that thinks. He said (paraphasing) "we want someone with 10 digits to sign what we put in front of him..we don't want a thinker". That is why GOP put up such clowns in the primary....and Romney was the one who thought the least so he won.
If the country wants another way lead by a President who is Clueless Mitt's their man. Does this scenario sound familiar?
90% of Black voters whether they were Democrat, Republican, Independent, Gay, Straight, Rich, Poor, Liberal, Conservative voted for Obama based on race. Is Colin Powell's biased opinion really relevant regarding this election? Let's vote for a Change in 2012!
No, Willard Romney is just dumb when it comes to common sense on foreign policy. Plus, he sucks up to the low information far right that doesn't know anything.
That's what I keep trying to tell everybody! I saw Romney in person at a rally in Portland and I really didn't think he seemed all that bright. Plus, he pandered to lowest sort in the audience, as opposed to elevating the discussion. Not an inspiring kind of guy.
How smart do you have to be to piss away 5 trillion dollars with little to no results.
guess we will have to wait to see if Romney is elected to find out the answer to that question.
TO: UAWPleeeeeeease who wrote:
And you know that because that's the only reason you didn't vote for Obama, because of his race.

Wow, just when you thought that Sarah Palin was dumb, along comes Willard to prove he can beat her out!
It could be worse. what if the Idiot Perry from Texas was the man? LMAO
Oh God!
How quickly we forget, Michelle B. anyone.
The clown car was in a bad wreck and only Mitt was wearing his seat belt! :(
Okay - what would you get if you put Palin, Bachmann, Santorum, Cain, Romney, Perry, Gingrich, etc., together? I really don't know - I'm just wondering. I'm pretty sure you still wouldn't have a whole brain between the lot of them!
Not sure, but the smell would be awful
Don't throw rocks when you live in a glass house Job-1.

five idiots in a room telling each other how smart they are. What fools
Dumb means that someone cannot speak. Stupid means they are not intelligent. Ignorant means they do not possess much information.
Obama went to Harvard, and was an exemplary student and editor of the Harvard law review. He was also not a legacy.
Colin Powell is a lifelong military man who served on the Bush Cabinet. He would seem to me to have some credentials when it comes to foreign policy and an insider's perspective concerning both of the Bush presidencies. Notice that he seldom criticizes Bush Senior's policies. That is because thay were pragmatic, albeit more conservative than liberals would like. Bush Senior also had an extensive career in service and foreign policy.
Powell has not veered left. Neo-conservative foreign, and domestic policy as well, has veered into an odd mixture of social intolerance and economic anarchism tat in no way resembles classical conservatism. It is no longer Eisenhower, it is Joseph McCarthy. It is not Barry Goldwater, it is Jerry Falwell.
Agreed, in today's GOP even St. Reagan would be considered a RINO. The party has swung too far to the right and is out of touch with the common voter. And yes, this labeling of of the president as a socialist, communist, marxist, etc., smacks of McCarthyism.
What is next, congressional hearings and blackballing citizens that are not considered "American" enough?
I said it before and I'll say it again...when it comes to matters requiring deep thought, Romney is just Sarah Palin with a dick...
I always had a tremendous respect for Cullen Powell. That was shattered when he made his pitch to the UN over weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Now I don't care who he endorses. I had always liked him. I know there are those that said the weapons were there and were moved. However, since there was never any proof of that I do not believe it is true. You can make up anything you want on social media and you will find someone who believes you. Unfortunately, in today's political enviorment most only see facts through the prism of what they already believe. That is played to by political pundits. They want to opposition to be all bad and wrong about everything. Rarely is that ever the situation.
Powell was used by the Bush administration. He didn't believe an American President would lie to a General, but he was wrong.
Amy - agreed. That's why he quickly quit when Bush was re-elected. Couldn't stomach looking at the liar!
Oh and Dumb BO - the intel went through Condi Rice who slanted it the way Bush wanted it!

powell is still burning about gw putting him in a bad position on the iraq war !! he lied to the united nations about wmd under orders from gw and powell new there were none !! he resigned not long after that !! he no longer believes in the gops war mongering policies !!
Actually Powell lied to Bush and sucked him in to a war that Powell wanted.
He had to resign because he was found out.
POWELL WAS IN CHARGE OF THE INTELLEGENCE !!!
Bo go back to chasing your tail, let us know when you catch it.
Bo, where do you come up with this stuff? It's pretty darn good! SNL is looking for comedy writers as we speak. You should audition!!
Tis the season
Typical Libturd - cant dispute the facts - result to insults.
POWELL was in charge of the Intellegence - HE LIED TO BUSH !!!
Bush believed Powell - not knowing that he was a RINO (aka closet democrat)
What "facts" are you referring to? Powell was not handling the intel from the CIA, it was being funnelled through Cheney's office where he did some "creative rewriting".
http://www.airpower.maxwell.af.mil/airchronicles/cc/tracey.html
So, let me see if I get your argument correct...
Powel, who was in charge of ALL of the intellegence departments of the US, was lied to by Bush and didn't know any better?
Really, thats your argument???
So, your saying that Powell is a complete moron (actually I can believe that - afterall he did support Obama)
Bo he was Secretary of State not the head of the CIA. Bush and Chaney dreamed up the WMD so they could start the war and gave Powell information to present to the United Nations. Powell did not know it was a total lie.
Bo who is doing the insulting I did not call you a name now did I. Think on this a little why would anyone go into the united nations spew a lie knowingly just so he could be embarrassed later. What he gave the United Nations came from Bush and Chaney not the other way around. See what happens when you chase your tail to long.
The Secretary of State is the chief advisor to the President of the United States on foreign matters both political and military. While the Secretary of State has no military authority, he or she is often uniquely able to gauge the response of a given nation to a particular military act

So your saying Powell is just a moron - Like I said - I can believe that!
The Secretary of State also consults on economic issues involving foreign nations and is responsible for advising the President on which courses of action will best serve the United States in the foreign arena. The person holding the office of the Secretary of State is responsible for the negotiation of new treaties as well

Yep, those secret Democrats hiding everywhere waiting to jump out and lie to start a war. Because they all LOVE a good war? ........................It's just not adding up!
So Powell was Head of the CIA too? When did the Sec. of State and the CIA merge? What facts do you have, then we can debate!!
Wow Bo...Was that before or after Powell was abducted by the three-headed alien bee queen?
Good ol' Foxy-notsy News...the channel for those who believe the National Enquirer is good journalism.
Bo, were does the Secretary of State get their information to advise the President. CIA and who was the director of the CIA then George Tenet, who " At a meeting on December 12, 2002, he assured Bush that the evidence that Iraq had WMDs amounted to a "slam dunk case." So again Powell got his information from Bush Chaney thru Tenet. Now start checking your facts dog.
At least we now know where Bachmann and Palin got their inaccurate historical facts - from BoDogInventaFact.com
That is how it is supposed to work. Not so much when the President and Vice-President visits with the CIA and instructs them concerning the manner in which they are to assess the reports they provide the White House. The President's office also is not supposed to leak the name of an active operative to punish a spouse that is publicly critical of their interpretation of intelligence.
If Powell was one of these low-life slimy career politician types, he would be president by now. He is not simply because his ambition is the service to his nation, not a nation that serves his ambitions.
In all fairness, the unsubstantiated claim Bo is making was not presented by Fox news. Although a reasonable person would agree they are biased, I suspect he had what he felt was a moment of inspiration, and made it up all by himself. He is probaly satisfied that several people clearly more informed than himself bothered to reply to him. Usually when people spout delusional statements in public, people try not to make eye contact and go about their business.
All are free to make up their own minds but you are not free to make up your own facts.
What do you call a supposed Republican who supports the Democratic party candidate in two successive elections?
A phony, and a Democrat.
"Come on, Mr Powell. Think."
...and what do you call a sick, perverted governor that drools over the thought of probing rape victims?
A typical evangelical teabagger.
Yes shocked and disgusted making jokes about rape victims is so classy!
First get a job, then get a life dude.
Actually, Mao...I do not think that Virginia's sexually deviant Governor is anything to joke about, nor do I think the little teabagger brownshirts that march behind him funny. If you think my comment was a joke, perhaps you should take it to your therapist and not announce your perversions publicly.
Have a great job and a lovely life, thank you. I know that irritates little people like you...
I his support is because the candidate presents a foreign policy that is in line with moderate internationalist conservatives in the line of Eisenhower and the bulk of most high ranking military officers, it makes him philosophically consistent.
Especially when the opposition stops just short of wanting to drop out of nato and exhibits a simplistic, and let's just say it, stupidly naive, perspective on foreign policy.
This from one who likens a democratically elected president to a man who had almost 180,000 of his political enemies killed and caused the starvation of as many as 70 million of his own people.....dude.
Pointing out that a law requires a rape victim to be probed again, when accurate, does not lack class.
Requiring a woman who is raped to carry her assailant's baby does lack class.
If a man accosted another man and forced him to perform oral sex, what legislator in his right mind would prohibit him from washing his mouth afterwards?
If it is a sin to abort rape fetuses, then that is a sin I can live with.
"Come on, VP Bob. Think."
Come on Job1, I would expect to win the lottery before getting a thoughtful post from Bob the Va-jay-jay Probe.
:-)
Job1 it is particularly interesting to see you go on and on about how dumb Republicans are when you continue to post inane one liners that have all the thought of a third grader behind them.
You seem to be a child trying real hard to sit at the adult table, but your elbows just don't seem to reach now, do they youngster?
Put your helmet on and go out and play with the other kids. If they make fun of you, tell your Mom.
WCA if you post anything more than one liners the Republicans get all confused and start ranting all over themselves. It really is not a pretty sight. Oh I guess you know all about that don't you. You have a little something on your chin you might want to get that.
Brock-

actually, Powell did not know there weren't any. he was promised that the intel said so, but as the time was drawing near to address the U.N., he was given a brief from Cheney's office about WMD's, not the CIA. When he asked about it, he was told the intel came from the CIA and they just wanted to run it through the VP's office for fact-checking. Turns out that Cheney and his staff fabricated the whole thing, the CIA didn't know anything was up until they heard Powell's speech and Powell gave that presentation based on fabricated evidence. Powell was sold out.
Powell only endorses Obama so you guys wont call him an Uncle Tom
BO Fetch
You do not know what you are taling about. Powell can endorse anyone he wants. There are plenty of Black Americans that do not like Obama, and no one calls them an Uncle Tom.
Bo, play dead....
Bo, SIT no I said Sit not S#!t!!
Ok fuzzy you get to clean that one up.
So Bo is that a fact or your opinion? Bo's brain is already playing dead!

Thank you, Bo. It's always good to remind ourselves why teabaggers are considered unintelligent.
Please keep posting - the more everyone sees your kind for what they are, the more irrelevant you continue to become.
Bo... prime example of the averege Mittsy supporter.
@Bo...whatever. Calling yourself a "dog" is a great insult to dogs. You are some pathetic creature who can only insult decent people. No wonder you support Willard. You and he are one of a kind.
"C'mon Mitt, think." Powell DOES know he's talking about Mitt Romney, right? Mitt and think in the same sentence. What an oxymoron.
Mitt Romney has been running for President since at least 2007. In that time he could have had access to the most knowledgeable people in the world to learn about the issues and develop a true world view. Instead it is clear that he has not done his homework. Reminds me of George Bush---he hadn't done his homework and relied on the briefings of his team---most of whom now work for Romney. We tried this way once and it didn't work--why would we go back?
Steeler fan, If at first you don't succeed try try again, until its your turn. What was that definition of insanity?
I've always had the deepest respect for Powell but now his agenda is ONLY to sell his book. Wish he still had the passion and care for the USA as he did in the past.
So - I guess you are having a little tizzy because he is not using a campaign to disguise his book tour like the other teabaggers do? Powell demonstrated his passion for the USA by resigning from the Bush regime instead of becoming a war criminal.
Your idea of "passion for the USA" is, at the least, perverse, "believe"...
If the Bush administration were war criminals, then what do you call the Obama administration?
He has continued to support many of the techniques the former administration used. Also Bush never summarily executed US citizens via predator drone. Obama is denying US citizens their due process of law.
Do you have answer for that one fancy pants?
Maobama Critic - your post is all lies. Next?
Seeking Sanity,
Please see the attached link from the liberal bible AKA the New York Times.
Nope not lying. In fact Eric Holder defended the use of these tactics.
Sorry but its true.
Maobama - wrong - all lies!
Seeking Sanity - correct - true - authentic, but then to democrats the truth is relative.
Hmm...Where's that link, Mao? Face it - the teabaggers only hate the NY Times because it doesn't have funny papers. They are intellectually incapable of comprehending anything deeper than Garfield.
Seeking...the more they babble their propaganda, the more they expose themselves. It's getting pretty sad and we can expect it to get worse. Anyone that finds themselves having to defend a lying creep like Mittsy will have scrape even further below where the bottom feeders dwell.
Just wearing plain ol' blue jeans today, Mao...the fact that you think they're fancy (wink wink) is probably another subject more appropriately handled by your therapist.
The hypocrisy of the left. Remember when the left called Colin Powell an "Uncle Tom" for his endorsement of Bush on 04'? They berated him and basically disowned him since he was not "black" enough
Now he is enlightened because he stepped back onto the the plantation that is the DNC.
Either way I still respect the General that he is supporting his guy, but the waffling and bigotry of the left is just mind boggling.
I remember when the right claimed that liberals called him an uncle tom. I have not found any prominent liberal politician call him that except for Ralph Nader. Ralph Nader also called Obama an Uncle Tom.
The right also claims that liberals want to remove religion throughout the land because they, in line with Thomas Jefferson, support clear delineation between church and state.
I used to respect Gen. Powell. I used to think that he was a conservative like me. But time after time, he has shown himself to be nothing but a liberal hack. The more he talks, the less I like what I hear. And to think he was once considered for running for President himself. I am glad he dropped out. It allowed us time to vett him and find out he was not worthy. He is not the strong leader we need. He is very unsure of his positions. Unlike Ike who could make the transition from general to politican, Gen. Powell lacks the core convictions to be President. The only reason we even listen to him anymore is because he is a former Republican that liberals like to interview. They tell us he is "mainstream" and the establishment for the Republican party when in fact, he is just another former Republican who is scared to death of the Tea Party.
Colin Powell afraid of the "tea" movement??? They've had evangelical whack jobs throughout his career in the government, why should he be afraid of you now? Is it because of your nifty new name? Is it because you have a new lie (fiscal responsibility...) to cover up the fact that you are still the same religious fascists that have plagued this country for decades?
Occasionally your kind does manage something like Oklahoma City or the Atlanta Olympics, but it's few and far between. For the most part, it's difficult to be afraid of a group of people that find putting on a pair of socks intellectually exhausting.
Thanks for the laugh, eric. Just when I thought I had heard it all...
Well said Eric.
Eric,
Colin Powell is AFRAID of the Tea Party??
Now that has to be the dumbest thing I've seen today!!
The patriotic response to Colin Powell is:
Thank you for your years of service. You have earned your right to your perspective in international affairs through your illustrious military career, even if I do not agree with it.
The patriotic response to any presidential candidate who shows no understanding of basic history and geography and is ignorant of the basic nations that compose the international powers of the world is, "You seem like a nice person, but since the position is Commander in Chief of the Military, I will vote for someone who is more informed." or in abbreviated form "Come on, think."
Romney is uninformed enough to start Cold War II.
Hitler didn't trust his generals either. He probably had the same mentality as our GNOP party. romney would probalby nuke Iran, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Russia, China, California and New York.
I have to say sadly that I lost a lot of respect for General Powell when I saw him interviewed on Hannity the other night.
He just glossed over facts as meaningless...kind of like most liberals.
So looking forward to the debates .... Someone (guess who) is definitely going to get their tail handed to him on a (not so) silver platter, all on national television! Going to be so sweet! Then as a follow up I'll tune in to all the back and forth on the threads for plenty more tail to be dished out! Again, sweet!
Yeah, me too. I am so much looking forward to seeing our Harvard educated, articulate president going off his teleprompter and answering hard questions about the dismal state of the economy. He will be forced to explain why his economic recovery plan has failed. His usual DNC talking points..."I saved the country from a depression, it could have been worse, things are not as bad as they appear, it's my predecessors fault, it's the tea party, conservatives don't want a black president, it's all the negative coverage from Fox News, it's those republicans in congress, it's the rich not paying their fair share", blah blah blah... just won't suffice after four years in office. Mr. Romney on the other hand will only have to state the basics of his economic plan and explain why it would improve the economy going forward. Sounds like a no brainer to me.
He was a "hero" when he worked for Bush, but now that he supports Obama, the GOP will turn on him like bad dogs. (for the record,he was a hero then and is a hero now,and his years of service to our country trump the half a year of ROTC that most of the keyboard commandos that are trashing him on the internet put in before they realized that a Miltary career was hard work with a great degree of responsibilty)
