Less than six months before November’s presidential election, President Obama enjoys a sizable lead over Mitt Romney among Latino voters, according to a new national NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Telemundo poll of Latino respondents.
The challenge for the Obama campaign, however, will be turning out these voters, who aren’t as interested in the election as all other Americans are.

President Barack Obama speaks at a news conference after the 2012 NATO Summit May 21 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
In this survey, Obama holds a 34-point lead over Romney among registered Latino voters, 61 to 27 percent. In 2008, according to the exit polls, Obama defeated McCain among this key voting bloc, 67 to 31 percent.
In addition, Obama’s approval rating among all Latino adults stands at 61 percent (compared with 48 percent of all Americans in the new NBC/WSJ poll), and approval of his handling of the economy is at 54 percent (versus 43 percent overall).
Meanwhile, Romney is struggling with Latinos, the poll shows. Just 26 percent view him positively, while 35 percent see him in a negative light. By comparison, Obama’s positive/negative score among Latinos is 58/23 percent.

What’s more, this demographic group is more optimistic about the economy and the nation’s direction than the general population. Forty percent of Latinos believe the country is headed in the right direction (versus 33 percent of all Americans in the NBC/WSJ poll), and 46 percent of them say what they’ve read and heard recently makes them feel more optimistic about the economy (versus 42 percent).
But here’s a troubling sign for the Obama campaign: Latinos aren’t as excited about the upcoming election. A combined 68 percent of Latino voters say they are highly interested in the upcoming election (registering an “8”,”9”, or “10” on a 10-point scale). That’s compared with 81 percent of all voters who express high interest.
This NBC/WSJ/Telemundo survey -- an oversample from the just-released NBC/WSJ poll -- was conducted May 16-21 of 300 adults who identified themselves as coming from a Latino or Spanish-speaking background. That sample includes 119 interviews that were conducted in Spanish.
The overall margin of error for this survey is plus-minus 5.7 percentage points. The margin of error for the 188 registered Latino voters survey is plus-minus 7.2 percentage points.

The only reason he thinks he has the Latinos is because he thinks he can bull@!$%# them because he shows them no respect and lies to them about imigration .
You sound like a guy who can be bullsh*tted rather easily.
Most, no all, but most, Tea Partiers are led rather easily.
Your above post is proof.
At least there's no question that he is big with Cuba's Castro brothers....Birds of a feather.....
What?
Some folks around here are just dumb, not ignorant mind you, but just dumb.
My goodness.
The following is from the Catholic Church's USCCB website: Poverty USA
Poverty by Race
The number and the rate of Hispanics of any race living in poverty increased significantly in 2008, from 21.5 percent to 23.2 percent. The number of Hispanics in poverty went up to 9.9 million, from 11.0 million in 2008.
The poverty rate for non-Hispanic whites increased to 8.6 percent.
African Americans’ poverty rate rose slightly, to 24.7 percent.
The number of Asian Americans living in poverty increased to 11.8 percent in 2008.
The number rose from 11 million to 9.9 million????????
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------POVERTY RATE---------------------MILLIONS IN POVERTY-----
Hispanics.........................21.5%.......................................9.9 million..................
African American...............24.5%.......................................9.2 million.................
White(non-Hispanic)............8.2%......................................16.0 million................
Asian American..................10.2%.......................................1.3 million................
Notice how the Catholic Church seems to be more concerned about those 9.9 million Hispanics than all the other 26.5 million poor of America.
As I understand it Mexicans come here because Mexico sucks. But when they get here, they want to make the US into another Mexico. Kind of defeats the purpose doesn' it.
Then, obviously, you don't understand the subject.
So Obama drops 6 points in hispanic support from 2008 to 2012 and this is reported as good news by the Obama Re-Elaction arm of the liberal media. Baghdad Bob didn't go to prison. He landed a job at MessNBC.
Obama is their only hope and not a very good one at that. Come November the round up starts and 12,000131 of these ILLEGALS will be headed home. This Country will rebound quickly because their Exodus will create employment and opportunities for our own citizens.
Why isn't it fair game for Romney's business record to be criticized ???? ; It was OK for the Republicans to smear all community organizers , in general , just to get at Obama in 2008. It looks like they'll be repeating that attack on that same general group again -- a group that includes Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi. Face it, if either King or Gandhi were alive today, both men would be viciously attacked as "agitators" by Romney and his stooges if he thought he could get more votes from bigots !!!!!!!!!!!!!
WA WA WA. Thats what all you ROMNEY LOVERS DO BEST. You should go out & get some cheese to go with that whine. Deal with it, "OBAMA GET'S IT". So do OBAMA SUPPORTERS. Alls fair in this political race, romney set the tone, and now he's crying with the rest of you about what can and can't be said about him. GROW SOME BALLS and open your eyes. At best romney is a pathetic, spineless wimp who stands for the 1% & only the 1%. Cry as you will, he will not win the election because as time goes by more and more AMERICANS will see what he is all about. Think of all the bridges he is burning, and we still have 6 months to go. If the GOP wanted to get a president in office this time around they should get serious about their canidate selection. Obama is gonna pick him apart like a school of pirahnas in the debates. OBAMA will win by a landslide. When the polls open all you romney lovers are going to be dissapointed because AMERICANS will not tolerate a LIAR for their next president. Especially not one who only has AMERICAS TOP 1%'S BEST INTEREST AT HEART. I cannot imagine what all you romney supporters are thinking. You all must be brainwashed. If thats the case get in line so he can lead you into the showers the way HITLER did. BE CAREFULL WHAT YOU WISH FOR. OBAMA/BIDEN 2012.
If Obama is favored by the 'Latinos' it is obviously because he has promised to treat them better than (more correctly, treat them at the expense of) non-Latinos. This is obviously unfair, un-American and still another reason the voters should treat Obama as less of an American (many feel he is less an American) than say, an American.
This legend of the 1% is stupid on the face of it. Those who use it for a mantra are obviously patent liars who lack respect for their audience. If a party empirically favor some 1% then by definition it disfavors 99%. Would it even exist?
Some anti-Catholic defining what Catholics think, do, feel, will do is presumptuous. The gutting of religious rights, among other enumerated rights (so as to be able to shove policies down the American people's throats without real protest) by this administration has angered Catholics, Fundamentalist, Religious Jews and even Muslims.
Obama's time has went. The Democrats should call him into a room and Torricelli him. Where the NJ Democrats only had sleepy old Lautenberg's gurney to wheel in over Torricelli's spasmodic carcass, the Dems at least have Mario's little boy who seems to have the New Yorkers pretty much fooled.
By the way, if you think a Catholic has to be a practicing Catholic to be irate about how this man is attacking Catholics, you better think again.
The new stimulus plan: You have to be hispanic to get in on his Voter Stimulus Plan where your vote can also be bought with tax refund credit for illegal children not living in this country.
President Obama made the right move. This should get the ball rolling on the Dream Act. The Republicans are crying foul, i.e., that the President policy move is "unconstitutional". Let me tell you what is "unconstitutional" and violative of three "TREATIES". First and foremost, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hijdalgo. Most Immigration laws violate this Treaty signed in 1848. Just read it. The terms of the Treaty signed by the U.S. and Mexico stated that the Mexicans living here were granted citizenship. Can you imagine the blood line that comes from over 80,000 Mexicans. So the next time you hear the Republicans and especially Gov. Brewer of Arizona and Sheriff Arpario crying and bitichin, tell these fools to read the Treaty. They are the "illegals".
Not going to help Obama win the American Latino vote at all. In fact, this "temporary fix" is too little and too late. Plus, most of the people Obama is giving work permits to do not vote and don't care.
I wouldn't trust Telemundo to be objective in U.S. political issues and less when it concerns public opinion strategies.
